What would you call Sasuke? A sub/submissive? Bottom? Masochist? Or do you find that you struggle to find a term/terms that fit? Or that people get the wrong idea if you use a term like "submissive"?
I don't exactly feel the struggle defining Sasuke because when I do it's for myself so it goes beyond words, when I do it for readers of my fics I hope they will understand through 'show, don't tell', but as I'm a nobody in the world of writing I add extensive notes at the end of chapters so they'll understand what I mean when I show Sasuke in certain dynamics, and generally I find that ppl get the wrong idea anyway, because of their own headcanons, biases, misconceptions, and all the OOC top/dom Sasuke stuff is proof. But also the excessive sappy fluff and healthy anything, in a universe with child/very young soldiers and death everywhere feels OOC to me. I get the 'fix it' vibe for fanfiction, and the need to see something less grim, but too much it's no longer in character. Anyway.
I mentioned somethings related to bottom/submissive/sub Sasuke here, here and here.
Ofc the N*ruto universe is not the real world. BDSM in its real form, with safewords, 'contracts' agreed beforehand and all that boring stuff, don't exist, just like BDSM attire, s*x toys and more stuff. So using the sub/dom definition isn't exactly fitting imo, but at the same time it is fitting, as I do see Sasuke in a sub/dom relationship with Itachi, psychological before anything else. And I do headcanon him in sub/dom relationships with others as well.
As for definitions, he is definitely a bottom and he's definitely submissive to those he admires and respects. And he could totally accept such ppl as his dom. Only, the definitions feel kinda lacking something. He's also passive in relationships, and this a lot of ppl don't get because they think that someone so strong and determined has to be assertive, but when it comes to interactions with others he always let them do whatever and reacts to it. This is extremely passive. Which I (and not just me ofc) associate with bottoming, and being submissive. Which extends to sub. So everything is part of the same concept, kind of.
I hope it makes sense.

i will never stop hating the shitfest that’s b0ruto. why?! because it’s ruining the naruto tag. everywhere i go, on all social media, there’s next gen worshippers and i DON’T CARE if you like b0ruto but stay in your lane. any naruto or sasuke content, or god forbids even itachi or uchiha content that shows up in my tl is INVADED by the vomit-inducing characters of b0ruto. the more their content is shoved down my throat, the more i’m gonna hate that franchise- seeing more of that crap isn’t gonna make me want to watch it or even hate it any less
how am i supposed to even begin to be interested in that bs when all i see is that ugly salad (also, a bit off tangent but she's fucking ugly and no child of sasuke's would look like that or be that annoying) being a brat and “dissing” sasuke constantly and the moron sasuke haters hooting and cheering because “yAy YoU gO gIrL! BaHaHa SaRaDa tAkInG rEvEnGe FoR hEr MoThEr” (aka some sequence of ugly brat dissing sasuke’s attempts at getting closer and calling him annoying, clown music on sasuke, then a montage of young sasuke calling sakura annoying at his lowest moments when all she wanted to do was guilt him into loving her while happily ignoring his traumas and inner turmoil)
?
i wish the worst upon this lame, entirely pointless franchise and i better not see a glimpse of it again. shame on yt and insta for not having tag filtering- at least on tumblr i'm spared that mostly when the posts are tagged appropriately
#rant#personal#anti anti sasuke#wtf is their problem??#not to mention it’s all so fucking over the top and LAME#yeah. you heard me. it’s fucking lame#and the character designs SUCK#fuck b0ruto and its makers#and fuck the idiots who can’t tag for shit#anti s@rada#fuck off#don’t even get me started on how naruto and sasuke are made … incompetent dads at least at the start#mfkers couldn’t giver their ugly shitface second gen characters anything to stand on so for *#✨trauma✨#they did that#not the creators being biased sasuke haters and using b0ruto to widely spread sasuke hate#but even more so fuck them for TAXING my eyes and ears by pushing their shit content onto my screen#sorry for the language

I think it’s hilarious to watch people get mad about Boruto being character assassination because it IS until you consider the possibility of a poly situationship. Sakura is Sasuke’s wife, and Sasuke is Naruto’s husband, and Naruto is Hinata’s husband.
And also consider that Naruto has probably put in some actual damn work since he become Hokage.
Can’t do anything about Sasuke avoiding Konoha but I’m honestly not surprised about that, he’s a bit traumatized. Is he protective of it now? Yes! And that’s NOT WEIRD. Maybe the Konoha before was corrupt, but Naruto can LITERALLY SENSE NEGATIVE INTENTIONS(WHICH EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE FORGOTTEN?!)
Root has been disbanded and Naruto’s pretty clearly weeded out the corruption around him! Hell, they might never have brought UP the Hyuga branch-main family argument, but it’s clearly been dealt with considering neither Hanabi or Hinata have branch family seals, nor does Boruto or Himawari, when it’s explicitly mentioned that the heir remains in the main family while their siblings get seals.
(I wouldn’t be surprised if Naruto having kids with Hinata was what caused that issue to come up, honestly. What, do YOU want to be the Hyuga elder that explains to the Fifth and Sixth Hokage, as well as all the other Kage, and the entirety of Konoha, why their Hero’s kids should have a torture-seal placed on them?)
Like come on man, this is a village that finally DOES represent Naruto and Sasuke’s goals! It makes SENSE that he’d want to protect it now!!!
Also not surprised that Sasuke is awkward about Sakura and Sarada, my boy has No Idea how to interact outside of Naruto, and frankly if he does have feelings about her, as an autistic person who can’t handle emotions, I too run away from the people I care about when I get overwhelmed about caring for them. The people that I DON’T run from are the ones who chase after me often enough that I get used to caring about them.
Furthermore, Naruto doesn’t avoid his family! If you watched Naruto The Last, or hell, the day Naruto become Hokage, you know Naruto didn’t even BECOME Hokage until his kids are older, which he MENTIONED was a choice on his part so he could spend more time with them before they entered the Academy. The movie takes place during the Chunnin Exams, which are canonically more work to maintain, especially when it’s all five villages attending. In the series, we’ve seen Naruto come home much earlier outside of big, international events, take days off to spend with his family, and use clones for work while he stays home! Like he DOES spend time with his family, kishimoto himself said Boruto’s outbursts were more about getting used to his dad having any job at all(as he was a very powerful Shinobi who honestly didn’t have a lot of missions at his skill level) after being pretty much a stay-at-home dad. Hell, in the after-credits scene in Naruto the Last, it’s implied that Hinata was still an active Shinobi, and considering the age of the kids, I would not be surprised with Naruto staying at home with the kids up until Naruto’s ascension as hokage. And I NEED more fics if this time period, I’m DYING.
Anyway, Hinata and Naruto love each other, and Naruto and Sasuke love each other. Honestly I’m a bit iffy on Sasuke and Sakura but I kinda like the idea that she’s his beard which is why she’s never shown to mind when he’s not home lol. I CAN actually see them loving each other too, though I don’t think Sakura has a lot of skill with Uchihas that run from their feelings haha. Himawari is Naruhina’s kid, while Sarada and Boruto 100% have a mom and 2 dads. And I think with this interpretation, the whole show suddenly makes sense.
#I always think it’s wild to see anti-Boruto stuff#that’s Naruto and Sasuke’s son your talking about#hold your tongue#literally just look up merch for the show#it’s all Boruto and his two gay dads#Am I surprised Naruto looks tired? hell no#world leaders in our world tend to age prematurely VERY FAST#and that’s on TOP of all the times Naruto LITERALLY SHORTENED HIS OWN LIFE SPAN in shippuden#anyone remember saving Gaara?#but if Naruto could grow his hair back out I think we’d all be happier lol#and people hating that Sasuke likes Konoha now is wild#THE WHOLE POINT OF WHY HIS REVENGE WAS WRONG WAS THAT THE PEOPLE AT FAULT WERE ALREADY GONE#HE WAS TARGETTING INNOCENTS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT NOTICE ANYTHING WAS WRONG#THE WHOLE POINT WAS THE CYCLE OF HATRED FROM NARUTO AND PEIN’S FIGHT#YOU HAD MY BROTHER KILL MY FAMILY#SO I AM GOING TO KILL YOUR FAMILY WHO WERE INNOCENT#AND THE PEOPLE WHO LOVED THEM WILL THEN COME AFTER ME FOR KILLING THEIR LOVED ONES#THE WHOLE POINT WAS THAT IT NEVER ENDS#SASUKE MAKING AN ACTIVE DECISION TO FORGIVE IGNORANCE WAS THE WHOOOOLLLLEEEE POOOOIIIIINNNNNTTTTT#forgot to tag normally haha#Boruto#Naruto#Naruto Uzumaki#Sasuke Uchiha#SNS#sasunarusasu#naruhina#sasusaku kinda

"Never heard of him, am i supposed to care?"
As badass as it all sounds, a geniuen question comes to mind; ( and correct me if im wrong i haven't read the manga)
What do you mean you haven't heard of him?? What clan are you trying to avenge here the Uzumaki?? How do you not know?
And most immportantly: what do they teach you in academy. You know when you learn about the hokage and how konoha was built. Cause i can understand the uchiha not wanting to speak about him, but konoha?? They really are out here waiting for these uchihas to die so they can remove them from history.
And sasuke is a smart kid you can't even say that he wasn't paying attention, not with those grades at least.
#it didn't make sense to me really#also how did he even decide which head to stay on top of at the vally?#does madaras statue have the uchiha simbol or smth?#madara#sasuke#uchiha#anti konoha

am i missing something because the whole indra and ashura thing was literally only their chakras not even the souls, otherwise hashimada (reanimated) wouldn't have been able to exist at the same time as sns. it's not even "pseudo-incest" or whatever antis say it is because chakra =/= souls.
Yep. It's the most convoluted storyline in the entire manga and I honestly have no idea why Kishimoto overcomplicated himself like that.
When we first meet Hagoromo the Sage of the Six Paths, he tells Naruto he's his son Ashura and that they're very similar.
And then starts explaining the differences in character between Indra and Ashura
We're told about this interminable conflict between this two forces after Indra rejected his father's decision to make Ashura the guardian of the Ninja realm. Now, here is where it gets kinda sketchy
We're told by Hagoromo that is their chakras that continue to be honed and reincarnated across time but also that Ashura reincarnated in Naruto and Indra in Sasuke. So are the chakras different and separate from the individual/self? or are the chakras and the individual/self two inseparable beings?
When Naruto asks Hagoromo about the previous hosts/reincarnations of Indra and Ashura's chakras we're told
Madara mixed Indra and Ashura's chakras which ended up giving him the rinnegan. Very important to keep in mind that at this point in the story Madara is still very much alive.
This tells us two things; first, one person can hold both Indra and Ashura's chakras meaning that you're not reincarnating the individual/self. If Madara was Indra's reincarnation he would not be able to also be the reincarnation Ashura, but since he and Hashirama were only hosting the chakras, Madara was then able to mix them both for himself.
Which leads us to Hagoromo telling us Madara is no longer the reincarnation of Indra even though he's still hosting/holding Indra and Ashura's chakras (it's starting to get very convoluted, right?).
On top of that, if Madara is the reincarnation of Indra then Sasuke wouldn't have been born because well... Madara is still alive. But if Madara is just the host of Indra's chakra & Sasuke exists at the same time Madara is alive then that means the chakra chooses new individuals as hosts and does NOT exclusively stay with one individual forever or as long as they live, that's why Sasuke exists and holds Indra's chakra even if Madara is still alive and holding still some Indra's chakra himself.
So we get that Indra, Madara and Sasuke are their own separate selves that simply share *some* of Indra's chakra.
Additionally, even though in previous panels Hagoromo said Naruto was very similar to Ashura and he's his reincarnation and the host of his chakra, he also tells us that Naruto's nature is unlike the one of the previous reincarnates.
Naruto also states that he's different from Ashura, stablishing through this convoluted reincarnation/hosts thing, that Naruto has his own sense of self, he is his own person separate from Ashura and Hashirama, just like Sasuke is separate from Indra and Madara.
After Hagoromo tells them to raise their dominant hand to give them his power. Naruto states he and Sasuke may not be true brothers (unlike Ashura and Indra) but they're really good friends (once again debunking the whole "sns is incest" bs). This is to make it clear that unlike Indra and Ashura but also unlike Madara and Hashirama, they will be able end the interminable conflict started thousands of years prior.
However, when we're introduced to Kaguya who is able to sense Indra and Ashura's chakras in Sasuke and Naruto she also first believes they are Hagoromo and Hamura, her sons.
Keep in mind Indra and Ashura are NOT Hagoromo and Hamura's reincarnations, they're Hagoromo's sons and only Indra inherited Hagoromo's chakra. So, which is it? Are Naruto and Sasuke reincarnations of Indra and Ashura? what do Hagoromo and Hamura have to do with this? do Naruto and Sasuke simply have those powerful chakras?
As the fight against Kaguya continues, she calls Naruto and Sasuke Ashura and Indra's reincarnates respectively. But even then, she still sees them more as Hagoromo and Hamura who sealed her thousands of years prior.
Woah this is such a mess and the worst part is that it is quite frankly unnecessary lmaoo.
Anyways, after Kaguya is sealed and Sasuke reiterates he's got to kill Naruto and all that, basically indicating that the interminable conflict Hagoromo had talked about is still going. Hagoromo then tells Naruto he has to handle it by himself because he won't be able to help him since he has to leave that realm asap to which Naruto responds:
Soooo after 21 godforsaken chapters (671-692) Kishimoto clarifies once and for all that no, Naruto and Sasuke aren't brothers, they're not reincarnations of Ashura and Indra selves but simply inherited their chakras (in Sasuke's case *some* of Indra's chakra as Madara still had some himself) with the intent of ending this interminable shinobi conflict, but they are their own person separate from the previous hosts of these chakras.
I suppose since they did, in fact, end the interminable conflict Hagoromo talked about then the chakras won't be inherited by anyone else anymore.
I also need to point out that the reason Kishimoto made them the hosts of these chakras is because throughout the entire manga he's been building up all this lore of Naruto and Sasuke being two halves that complement each other, soulmates or twin flames if you will, but his ass just had to make things overly complicated.
We see it in the cover art he made for ch. 671
I've already explained this entire artwork here
Lastly, Naruto and Sasuke are both descendants of Hagoromo but since he lived thousands of years prior to them, saying they're related would be as ridiculous as saying the descendants of Genghis Khan living today are relatives.
Sorry for the long reply but I really needed to show why they're not brothers because this whole storyline can be confusing af.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but being on Team 8 served hinata better than being on team 7 would have. Having to constantly be the peace maker and foil to the rivalry and bickering between Sasuke and naruto would have worked as a negative towards her growth as a person. Hinata needed a peaceful team considering the cold and basically loveless home she was coming from. On top of her shy and meek personality. Kiba and Shino were perfect for her. Kiba's boisterous and positive attitude, on top of Shino's reserved but friendly nature, they were perfect for her.
Naruto is like the best conduit for her considering all things, but throwing in his dynamic with Sasuke in the mix would not have been good for her. And she needed people she could open up to. Child Hinata would not have been able to open up to Naruto, I do not think.
I am a naruhina shipper to the end but Team 8 is where Hinata needed to be.
EDIT
And the notion that Hinata should have been on Team 7 rather than sakura just reeks of this anti sakura bullshit that we are way too old to STILL be perpetuating. This fuck ass shit of hinata vs sakura should have died before we left middle school.
#hinata hyuga#naruto#naruto shippuden#naruhina#kiba and shino were the perfect bestfriends for hinata#sakura haruno#pro sakura haruno#and dare i say that sakura and hinata would have benefitted from having each other as teammates#if you could have more than one girl on a team

Chapter 52 Hype Posting
Hi void. I am going to vibrate out of my seat. Oh I'm going feral, absolutely feral. Another WSJ cover and lead colour page next week already! Promotion on TV during prime-time in Japan! The insanely good volume 4 PV! Hokazono-sensei judging for a manga award! Kagurabachi's getting the push to be the Next Big Thing at last- you love to see it.
Kind of.
I want Hokazono-sensei to get all the recognition he deserves, but I also don't want the fandom to explode and become yet another annoying dudebro space. The success of the series is more important though, so I'm happy to see Kagurabachi get so much support. Everyone needs to know about this manga! ANYWAY.
LOOK AT THIS TROLL.
It's Chihiro's turn to have a creepy parasocial admirer now.
Hiruhiko's not doing this just for kicks, however- he deliberately (and successfully) triggered Chihiro to orchestrate his dramatic fall. Given what happened at the end of this chapter, I would not be surprised if Chihiro's literal descent is foreshadowing a metaphorical one of some kind down the line.
And this just breaks my heart:
Triggers Chihiro's rage then fucks off only to do this? I will not be mourning Hiruhiko's death.
Chihiro's not built for being a murder bot and it pains him so much to be seen as equivalent to someone like Hiruhiko. But he was taught to see things through and uses his hatred for the Hishaku to keep going. Revenge is probably the only thing he wakes up every day for- he wasn't kidding about that "fresh hatred" line in chapter 1. And neither was Shiba when he said living like this would break him. This kid needs a hug and a safe place to cry out the pain so badly, man...
More than that, though... more than anything...
HIRUHIKO'S THE FUCKIN' ANTI-HAKURI.
"We're equals", he says. "I killed my family", he mentions. "Let's be friends," he asks as he forces his way into Chihiro's life. "I'm the only one who can understand you." The hell you aren't you rat bastard. Hakuri's the one whose soul resonates with Chihiro's. He's the one Chihiro acknowledged as an equal and a friend. BEGONE, FOUL DEMON.
God damn it. Hokazono, I love you for making my most hated villain archetype into a character I want to see more of. I've never understood why playful psychopaths are so beloved but I get it with this guy. Smooth move making him the evil version of my favourite character in all of fiction, Mr. Author. Now I need Hiruhiko and Hakuri to face off over their ideals about who Chihiro really is. It would be the perfect reprise to the Sojo arc! PLEEEEEEASE. There's so much HakuHiro potential in this setup... Hakuri being the one to pull Chihiro forward again would be amazing. But not for his own goals this time- just to help Chihiro as a true friend and partner. Not gonna get too attached to this since it's just one potential development out of many... I won't let myself... (too late).
(Psst... 昼チ or 昼チヒ will probably be the JP ship tag/name for Hiruhiko/Chihiro. Ain't no way Chihiro is the top in this pair for most Japanese fujin lol.)
The Show
The main character of the play's name is Sasuke and Hokazono-sensei is a huge Naruto fan. So much so that he's taken his own spin on Naruto and Sasuke three times now (Enten, Roku no Meiyaku, Kagurabachi). Chihiro is, in fact, his OC donut steel character inspired by the most annoying emo ninja boy ever. I see you, Hokazono-sensei.
The Battle of Soshima might be a made-up title to reference the real historical event The Battle of Tsushima, which fellow Golden Kamuy fans will recognize. At any rate, there aren't any famous Japanese stage plays with the same name, so there's no direct narrative parallels to draw insight from (sad trombone noises). Fortunately for us Hiruhiko is a yapper like I hoped and tells us the plan pretty plainly anyway:
I relate so hard right now, random audience guy.
Hiruhiko says the plan to kill Chihiro's not a bluff. But he's not acting like he's intends to make good on that statement. So that means...
Perception vs Intent
Chihiro looking his best: stressed and menacing
This is gonna be huge I think. Remember what Azami said back in the Sojo arc in ch. 9:
Azami, please come back soon. I need you carnally.
Then consider likes like this...
Local violent gang member still pretty tough after becoming human shishkebab through a moving train.
Chihiro could be set up to tarnish his father's legacy.
The public doesn't know the true strength or capabilities of the weapons that won the war- they just know that Rokuhira Kunishige made them and they were the key to winning. So Chihiro dropping in on a stage play to splatter the audience with a headless corpse's blood is not a great first impression. He looks downright villainous in this scene. Awesome, but villainous.
The Hishaku are going to metaphorically "kill" Chihiro somehow. For some reason, tormenting this poor guy is absolutely vital to John's plans... it's probably more along the lines of Chihiro being a useful pawn to move around to create conflict they can exploit, but still. They're going to try to break his spirit this arc for sure. Leave Chihiro alone! He's been through enough!
I've got a hell of a lot to say about this but I need some key details from the next few chapters before going off on lunatic tangents. Fuckin' hell though, this is great. This is exactly the type of development I was hoping we'd see after Samura's chapter. Chihiro's committed to the cause of killing the Hishaku, who so far have been wholly unsympathetic villains. But killing is a wrongful act. And this chapter sets up that Chihiro might not be the sympathetic avenging swordsman we love him as in the eyes of the public- he appears to be more of a menace like some of the members of the Kamunabi accused him of. He might be challenged on his murderous modus operandi via a Hishaku-backed smear campaign. Seriously, using Chihiro's brutality against them to ruin his father's legacy would be so evil and cruel. I love it.
We'll be able to count on Shiba and Hakuri to make sure Chihiro doesn't go off the deep end at least. I wouldn't be surprised if Hiyuki played a pivotal role in helping Chihiro out this arc too, but I don't want to commit when we've hardly seen anything of her so far (my spaghetti sovereign... please come back to the main story full-time soon).
Whether or not I'm right (I'm not, I never am), Chihiro's murder sprees fueled by Fresh Hatred are going to get looked at in a critical way. High time and I am definitely here for it. Tell me what you've got to say about violent revenge motivated by grief, Hokazono-sensei. You have more space to examine the topic now compared to Farewell! Cherry Boy.
Shorter than usual but that's not a bad thing. I can always come back and edit this (came back to do so twice now already) or make another addendum post, but...
... Just choose kindness, people. For yourself and others. See you later.
#kagurabachi#I told you I'd yap about Hakuri no matter how small his appearances are (he doesn't even have to show up)#Hiyuki also appeared this chapter yay#Chihiro looks AMAZING this chapter I can't get over it

I've seen this meme too many times to ignore it because the variants of this meme are always available in the anti tag in which people are either outraging over invisible flaws of Itachi, writing angry rants by inventing new flaws, or just feel agonized for some reasons because "he admitted his wrongdoings" is not enough for a fictional character. He must somehow be viewed the same way by everyone in the fandom too.
Sasuke said to Itachi he was going to kill the man who helped him slaughter their clan. However, once he learns the truth, he spends a lot of his time with Obito, despite knowing Obito was a bigger culprit in the clan's downfall than Itachi ever could be.
He first tells Obito, then Naruto and Kakashi, and then to Itachi himself multiple times that he's going to destroy Konoha because they caused Itachi pain. He does love his clan, but he loves Itachi more.
Itachi not wanting Sasuke to destroy Konoha isn't because he's worried about Konoha but because it would be a sure death for Sasuke. And even if it isn't, he'd be known as a criminal too, lose his remaining bond (with Naruto) and forever be condemned to exile. On top of that, Itachi doesn't want Sasuke to kill people for his sake or honour him. He doesn't want Sasuke to become a criminal for someone like him.
But what do antis make of his intentions?
WiIL oF FiRe

make it make some sense.

youre so right that the way kishimoto limits sakura bc of his own misogyny reflects the things girls often face irl. based on what ive seen from interviews, kishimoto is the kind of male writer who thinks women need inherently be written differently from and have different types of stories than men, and it creates this weird self-fulfilling prophecy whereby believing he's not good at writing girls, he ends up being bad at writing girls. but somehow it sometimes circles back around to making him good at it? the struggle of always feeling like you're second-best to the men in your life...but by focusing only on trying to surpass them you just end up centering yourself around them even when you've forged your own path...shes so girlhood to me
aaaa anon ur egging me on ahah (i love it, let's discuss euehuhehu, or not u can just ignore me lol) I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, I had a deadline and halfway through writing this i realised i wanted to do it properly and so I had to come back when I had time It does kinda circle around to Kishimoto crafting a portrayal of aspects of girlhood that's, well, maybe not good since its not intentional or well explored/resolved, but definitely accurate in a lot of ways.
I've always thought Sakura's crush on Sasuke being a big chunk of her focus in life is a great example of this. Kishimoto writes it in because that's how he sees women: what else could they want other than a man? And he needs to show how desirable Sasuke is because his audience wants to see it, they're teenage boys after all and Sasuke's the cool anti-hero (Naruto's too goofy and the underdog at this point in the story for her to like him) so of course Sakura's in love with him. But, at the same time, Sakura's crush being so central in her life is quite accurate because, as a girl, you're socialised since you're very young to desire a certain type of man: the man all men want to be, because men want you to desire them. In this case, this is Sasuke: the cool, aloof, powerful shinobi from a prestigious clan, the strongest, top of the class guy.* You're told by all the media you consume, the stories you read, the comments your family makes and the relationships that are modelled for you in society in general that you exist to love a guy, to take care of him, that your biggest dream should be being worthy of that guy's love, because what else is there for a girl to aspire to? And as a girl you don't just accept it, because it's deeper and more ingrained than that: you actually want your life to look like that. Because all the other girls who already have that are so pretty, and when you smile people compliment you, and you're told that's where your worth lies, and you want to have worth and you want people to pay attention because it feels good. (That's why going after a guy like Sasuke, who is emotionally unavailable, is also very realistic: it feels better when it's hard won. it's like, "he isn't affectionate with anyone, so if he is affectionate with me, i've really got worth!" which is something we see Sakura feeling well into her marriage with Sasuke in Boruto, and it's very sad that she still accept such a behaviour after growing up.)
Even when you have other aspirations (becoming a ninja, in this case) you are just confronted with the idea that you will never be as strong/good/powerful as the men in your life (like you pointed out). The system has it in for you in the first place: it hasn't been designed for you to thrive. Your teacher doesn't push you as hard as he pushes the boys, he doesn't pay as much attention to you as he pays to the boys, and everyone always acts like you're defenceless in the batter field, not giving you a chance to prove yourself. So why shouldn't you feel like you maybe are less than the guys? If your teachers and your teammates see you that way, then maybe that's what you are. Can you really fault Sakura for believing that when so many women irl struggle with this immensely too? You're already taking a caretaker/disciplinarian role within your team because you're the girl, and you're only 13, so maybe you should stick to that, because that you're good at, and Kakashi praises you for not being difficult like the boys, because "boys will be boys" but Sakura-chan you're so easy to deal with!!! And then you find your niche, something you're good at (tho, ofc, it's not by coincidence that kishi's strongest women in Naruto are healers - tsunade and sakura - that in itself is already an essentialisation of female nature, but i won't get into it here, even tho it adds to everything) , and you work your ass off at that: you're not from a special clan, you have no special powers like Naruto or Sasuke, but you've become the strongest medic ninja and yet. That doesn't seem enough for the fandom to see your worth, you routinely get called weak and useless because subpar writing didn't give you enough chances to shine (even tho you have all the potential) exactly because your writer is misogynistic. yay When Sakura goes after Naruto to convince him to back down so they can kill Sasuke, of course she uses her womanhood as her weapon. Of course she tells him she likes him instead. It's desperate, it's flawed, it's even misguided, but she's been told all her life that's all she's got to offer, she's been told all her life that's what men will respond to and she's tried to keep up with them but she feels like she can't on her own terms (tho she can!!! she can she can she can), so she succumbs to the default way society tells her she has value. And Naruto defies a lot of things by saying no here, he defies even the patriarchy/comphetness he himself partook in as a child (by crushing on her, by wanting to be like Sasuke), and further solidifies himself as an extremely compelling male protagonist IMO (Kishimoto misses a lot but he didn't miss here, but anyways i'm not analysing naruto rn ahah);
This is just another way Boruto (the show) actively tarnishes Naruto's characters. Unfortunately, there was space for things to be resolved differently. With the ending of Naruto, we could have imagined something else for Sakura: she could have grown out of her crush on Sasuke, realised her worth, that her life doesn't need to revolve around him and invested her time in becoming whatever it is that she wants to become, but instead..... Sakura becomes a housewife who abandons her own aspirations as a ninja to be a sometimes-useful-prop in a narrative about another boy, she's gotten married to an emotionally unavailable man that doesn't really love her and is never around, and yet she still pines over him after years of neglect and pretends to be satisfied (but isn't really, who would be?) by the tiniest slither of affection and of course, A CHILD. Because that's all women are for, and all that they should aspire to in the next stage of their lives: why wouldn't she be happy now that she has a kid with Sasuke? She even says it herself.
Tbh it's all a bit gross! But in a way, realistic, since unfortunately this is the life of a lot of women out there. Also don't come for me for this take, the things i'm saying are informed by my own experiences growing up as a girl. Ofc there's nothing wrong with choosing a more domestic life as a woman, that's clearly not what i'm critiquing here.
TL;DR; She is so girlhood !!!!
*this is damaging to Sasuke too, as we know, because it incentivises a flat, superficial, unkind view of who he is as a person that overlooks his traumas, pressures him to play a role and limits who he is/what he needs and deserves in a friend/partner too. That patriarchy is damaging to men themselves is not news tho, it's the same for men in real life.

Hello! what's your thoughts on Sasuke saying "I'm in Naruto's world. I'm blessed to exist" in sasuke shinden ? It just seems too ooc to me.
Also do you know the theory about Naruto and Sasuke having the full moon and crescent moon symbolism, and not the sun and moon. If you do, what do you think about it ?
haii,,, yeah lol i also think that quote is silly and ooc but i’m gonna link a mutual’s post because they worded better why it’s stupid
but like i said then, it’s funny sns claim retsuden is not canon always use that quote themselves so their argument is useless. both sasuke shiden and retsuden were made for fanboys and fangirls who want to see a sasuke sooo guilt-ridden that worships their favs even if in the canon manga the creator himself doesn’t agree with that characterization. but whatever.
about that dumb theory i just wish sns specifically would stop being dumb and feeding to antis arguments because everyone knows sun and moon is most of the time a romantic trope so ofc people try to debunk it so idg why sns of all listen to it.
anyway the moon and sun tattoos are literally meant as yin and yang. if people did one quick google search they would find out the moon and the sun have been used as examples of yin and yang pairs all the time
sasuke himself refers to naruto’s powers as yang and his as yin powers
i think viz changed it to light and shadow but if you want to check the raws Here you go.
and like i said before sun and moon are always put as yin and yang examples at the top.
sorry but i feel dumb for even having to show this all because the sun and moon symbolism is literally so clear any casual watcher picks it up, it’s right in your nose. only people that deny it are people that hate to admit naruto and sasuke have romantic tropes

Why I dislike SS and SNS
I’d be willing to bet you’ve seen many posts like this one but this isn’t in favor of one or the other, it’s a critique of both. Does that mean I dislike anyone who ships these ships? No, this is just my analytical standpoint of the ships themselves and the fandom. Let’s start with the fandoms surrounding these pairings.
SS
Okay, where to start, now I don’t like this ship in the slightest and the fandom doesn’t make it any better. Now I know it’s not all of you but it seems a lot of you. I’ve done some of my own digging and found that some of you are wonderful and write great fan fiction or make wonderful art, however some of you take a more toxic approach to defending your ship. This ship isn’t perfect and it being canon doesn’t make it any better, don’t kid yourself. A lot of the fandom for SS seem to think their relationship is perfect which by far isn’t the case. I’ve also seen a lot of homophobia within the SS fandom which I’m going to touch on in a moment, the ship itself is fine I guess, definitely having its quirks but the fandom is what truly bothers me. Sorry this section was so rambly.
Now that we’re done with the fandom part let’s speak about the ship itself, I don’t care for it. No surprises there, this section might be a little shorter because I don’t have much to say. There’s definitely some things about SS that bother me more than others, like Sasuke just up and vanishing after Sarada is born, Sakura seemingly losing all her self respect when Sasuke is around. It just goes on, Sakura is not weak and I think she could’ve been better on her own but that’s just me. For most Naruto ships, I think they were better as friends. Not much to add here.
SNS
Okay, like up top let’s start with the ✨fandom✨ some of y’all are great, others not so much. Something about the sns fandom is there’s quite a bit of hidden misogyny towards both Sakura and Hinata, even if you don’t like how Naruto ended, that doesn’t mean you get to be a misogynistic prick and that goes for the ss fandom as well, you don’t get to be homophobic just because you don’t like sns. Sometimes this fandom can be overbearing now that’s not necessarily a crime but it can get very annoying. Now I’m not going to say “can’t we all just get along?” Because I now that’ll never work, especially when no one can agree on anything. The best I can say is don’t be a bitch, just block or scroll because who actually cares?
For the ship itself, I don’t have much to say honestly. I don’t think Sasuke is a “shippable” character I guess is what I’m saying, he’s the common denominator of why I dislike both these ships, I love all these characters on their own but either shipped with Sasuke doesn’t make sense to me. This ship definitely has its toxicity, often portraying a harmful stereotype of queer men, before anyone says anything like “Naruto and Sasuke aren’t gay” who fucking cares? One of the fact of the matters is that we truly don’t know if either one or both is queer because it’s something that cannot be proven or disproven so to me personally it doesn’t even matter. The ship can often portray a caricature of romanticized abuse which is a problem for me, and so is fetishizing gay relationships. I haven’t been actively involved in shipping since I was like 13 so forgive me if my insight is outdated.
To make it clear; I’m pro all these characters but anti their ships ya know?
…………………………………………………………………………
Anyway, there you go, if anything doesn’t make sense or seems to rambly, please forgive me. It’s late when I’m writing this and I’m extremely tired. Feel free to debate me or anyone else in the comments but keep it civil. Have a good night!

This is your idea of a Hokage?
If you couldn't tell by the title, this is an anti Sarada post, keep scrolling if you're not into that
Let's begin with the outfit:
ok, so the pose is just… she looks like a wanna be prostitute. Sakura didn’t even dress this way when she was OLDER than Salad, let alone when she WAS her age.
let’s start with the heels. even Tsunade didn’t wear heels that high when she, too, was OLDER than Salad. how can she fight in those? I’m surprised she hasn’t hurt her ankles yet.
those gloves… I have nothing to say about them, they’re normal.
her miniskirt tho, ewww! she has nothing to show at the bottom, but in the Chunin Exams arc, when she stopped when Bolt was attacked, you could see her fucking underwear. it just me hard moving in that ugly ass miniskirt.
the top, oh my god. what if she had a chest? it would be revealed.
her hairstyle too. that is the most disgusting hair style in the entire series.
the glasses, oh don’t get me started. they suit Karin, but Salad, it makes her look even more disgusting and I didn’t think that was possible.
with this design, at least she’s modest (not that much tho). I still stand corrected with her hair style and glasses 🤮.
I have so many things wrong with her timeskip design.
her hairstyle is a lame copy of Bolt’s. she tried and failed.
the outfit! It’s going to fucking fall off her. I’m just waiting for her to be in battle and it to just slip down and show her chest (not that she is one) and it will only be connected at her waist and lower. it also must be uncomfortable moving with such short shorts.
the jacket is a BIG no no. it’s gonna fall off her shoulders. it also looks like a bad copy of Bolt’s jacket, like her hairstyle. she admires Bolt so much that she’s a cheap copy of him (🤢🤮).
her shoes, oh my god. they, too, look like they’re about to fall off. how can she fight in those ugly things? I can’t wait for her to be in the middle of battle, trip in those ugly heels, fall face first on the ground, and break her glasses.
she’s inappropriate (this is probably the biggest board):
there’s plenty more scenes, but I just couldn’t fit them.
she’s always hiding behind people’s backs:
there’s so many more and let alone all the ones in the anime, but I couldn’t fit anymore on there, but there’s so much more.
like, can’t she defend herself??? some Hokage she is gonna be. if she’s like this then I want Iwabe as Hokage.
her Sharingan/Mangekyou awaking was the dumbest and lamest thing in the whole Naruto universe:
she’s rude to her “friends”:
she hit Bolt and drags him and shouts at him. she ditched Mitsuki because he was Orochimaru’s son. she spent an entire arc crying for a dad, and when she got one, she was rude and mean to him. she wanted to ditch Sakura because she thought she wasn’t her mother. she was rude to Kawaki and said he should use his past to justify his actions, which is ironic consider she has done the same thing.
her personality:
don't even get me started
she's a crybaby
she thinks she's oh so good yet needs saving
Mary Sue
rude to people
underestimates her enemies and ends up needing to be saved
overestimates her abilities
constantly belittling Boruto for the tiniest things even tho he's BETTER than her
always shouting
picking fights with anyone
she's dumb
I could go on and on.
she’s such a crybaby:
she cried when she first met Sasuke and he didn’t even show any emotion, goes to show how little he cared about her. she cried when she couldn’t bring the dummy fish alive. she cried for no reason when she questioned Sasuke about her mom. and she cried for no reason when they were fighting Shin.
at this rate, she’s becoming more and more of a lame and useless girl with a boring backstory. I hate her, her looks, her personality, and her in general.
my concerns for her at that she’ll never amount to anything, she’ll go blind by 20, maybe 18, she won’t achieve her dream, she’ll become the most hated character, she will get killed off. I have so many concerns about the direction this character is going.
enjoy Salad’s real face:

"And regarding the forced thing, he’s a fictional character, people pair him up just for fun." take your own advice and touch grass please
"Touch grass" and that's the insult, you don't even know me and you get angry just because I'm not a fujoshi and I tell the truth about who the real Sasuke fans are. On top of that, if it bothers you so much that people don't like narusasu, why are you looking for anti-tags? I think you're the one who should touch grass.
