(I've been trying to resist for 9 whole hours, but I cannot. Please allow me this one short whiny post.)

- Kate and Anthony got no on-screen courtship or wedding.

- We didn't get to see them on either of their honeymoons or see them find out they are pregnant or have the baby.

- Their pregnancy announcement was cut off.

- They left for India off screen with zero fanfare. (And this constant abdication of their responsibilities goes against the very core of who these characters are.)

I could go on, but I'm trying to keep this short. Netflix knew exactly what they were doing with all the Kate and Anthony promos leading up to this season. Purposeful false advertising. They had approximately 16 minutes of screen time after being the second most promoted characters after this season's stars.

I'll still love Kate and Anthony forever and will come back for any cameos in the future, and Simone and Jonny somehow managed to still be perfect despite the shittiest of shitty writing 👏🏾👏🏾

But Netflix and Shondaland can fuck off for the blatantly dishonest marketing.

Why I hate Male!Michael & why that's got NOTHING to do with Heterophobia.

So, first off - the central theme of Francesca’s book is moving on from the love of her life.

You do need to actually wait for Francesca, Michaela, and John to have more than 1 minute of screen time together to know more about Francesca's feelings for John in contrast with the instant sexual attraction (or as some may say "letting her pussy drop") for Michaela

That's super interesting. & 2nd CHOOSING a partner she knows she can't have a kid with is entirely different from not being able to have a kid because 1) Queer people are also infertile and also choose to give up being able to have bio kids to be with their partners and 2) Francesca is literally able to have children in the end because of Julia Quinn Magic Dick???

Most of you are the making the case "oh, they can still do all that" which is TRUE

She could have easily chosen not to have the kids she ends up having & be content raising Marina's children with Philip. She's a nonconformist already! It wouldn't have been a stretch for her to fall in love with Philip's sister, who's raising the kids after both Philip and Marina died. It wouldn't have been a stretch for her to move in with the lady who doesn't care about society, only for her studies and children.

It IS NOT a stretch for Francesca to marry a man after being raised her entire life with everyone telling her that marriage is her entire purpose, attempt to have a child with him, lose that pregnancy after the tragedy of losing said husband, while struggling to understand her confusing feelings for his cousin since she literally has no idea what they mean and has no idea queer women are even a thing. she may think she can never really be with michaela in the way she wants to when she decides to remarry in the books. she may think she can never have a family with michaela - the way she yearns to in the books. she may fear she won't ever be accepted as her partner in the society she grew up in ON THE SHOW! but since this is Bridgerton there will be a Happily Ever After ending based on REAL LIFE LESBIANS who were able to live together, raise families together, and even get approval DIRECTLY FROM THE REAL LIFE QUEEN

Doing this to Fran is AWESOME! because of the genderswap and the talented actresses Masali and Hannah and Victor!

this fandom….man, oh, man….they believe anything and everything. it’s actually insufferable. we have less than 2 weeks until season 4 starts filming, i need them to put out the sophie announcement NOW. this is just ridiculous, like this is not marvel. it’s bridgerton. i still believe masali is 100% sophie. these people don’t get she cannot be a gender bent michael, that’s literally incompatible with how they wrote the world of bridgerton. it doesn’t work lol.

Honestly it’s no coincidence that those peddling this crap all have variations of the same MO.

I was not born yesterday. Anybody can come into someone’s inbox (anonymously) and say whatever they please. Anybody can claim they have a source/friend who works in the industry/at Netflix/is a journalist(seriously I’ve never seen this many people who have such friends). Anybody can claim they are a journalist or work at Netflix.

These people have claimed it all yet no one has provided a shred of actual evidence(ex. stills or audio) to back up their claims. Most of their claims don’t make any sense(Benedict is next yet they haven’t casted Sophie and he’s going to have a threesome with a man?) and they constantly contradict each other(sister vs. cousin thing when John is a confirmed only child; Eloise is next, no Benedict is next, no Francesca is next🤦🏽‍♀️).

If you’ve read the books or paid any attention to the show at all those claims straight up make 0 sense. Benedict is supposed to be just floating around fiddling life away right before Sophie comes in. He’s right on target in the show.

Michael’s gender is just as integral to the plot as Sophie’s. Michael becomes the Earl of Kilmartin because he is John’s closet male kin(they are first cousins via their fathers who were twins). He has severe guilt because of that. He is a rake and had quite the reputation because he is a man and men are afforded to do as they please. Fran struggles with her fertility and decides to remarry because she wants children. You change Michael’s gender and you change everything about WHWW.

Not to mention that as the Bridgerton verse stands gay marriage is illegal. Gay people have to live in hiding. Fran and this fanmade character they have come up with cannot have a happy ending.

I see y’all trying to compare your delusions to Benophie, but while they aren’t exactly taking part in society, Sophie was Benedict’s legal wife. They have children and they have a life together where they don’t have to hide their love and their union.

If that isn’t enough think of the money Netflix/the pun locs hers would be losing out on making such a fucking idiotic decision. Selling a gender-bent WLW tragic romance to a mostly straight women audience will not go over well.

Or how about how it would look casting Masali, a dark skinned Black woman, in a role meant for a man.

I’m just going to come out and say it, a large part of this fandoms gullibility is due to the fans inherit anti-Blackness.

Even though this show is a Shondaland production, Shonda herself is a Black woman, and she prides herself on creating content for Black people, they don’t want a Masali to play Sophie Beckett.

That’s where these rumors begin and end. With people not wanting Masali or any other Black woman(cause even if Masali isn’t Sophie not for one moment do I think that Sophie won’t be Black) to be Sophie Beckett.

So with that said, until I see the last two episodes with my own eyes (or by some miracle they let Masali appear with Luke on The View or GMA next week)I refuse to believe the lies of the deluded.

Hey there. I just wanted to say hi. I love your blog & you seem to share my thinking on the whole L, N situation. I’ve abandoned most of the other fan sites & blogs in recent days because they all sway with the wind ( LT & N theories gaining momentum since LA pics today 🙄) & are becoming anti LN which I will never get on board with but today was a difficult day.

My gut is telling me there’s more to this than what we’re being fed by L & his disastrous PR. I believe there has been something between L & N at some point during filming & press tour (I’m guessing Brasil, Canada & possibly Ireland) but I cannot understand why he sabotaged such an optimum moment in his career after London premiere. For what? There was an unprecedented amount of goodwill towards him after the press tour due to their easy relationship & connection with N & decided to throw it all away for a pap walk with a 23 yr old however unconvincing & underwhelming but still devastating to the fans on that night.

I have felt L& N are biding their time but why risk his career at his hottest moment. His SM growth since premiere doesn’t even compare to Ns since then. If he doesn’t announce a project from this time in LA it’s just embarrassing for him & I worry for him going back into filming S4 with all the projects N, JB & S have announced has in past month.

I’d love to know what you think of it all.

Why did Nic jump into support him after the pap walk & continue to do so for another week & why have Shondaland & Netflix doubled down on shipping the N & L chemistry/relationship after the Galway video which very much felt like a wrap up on the whole thing . Not to mention Jack Murphy & his gushing posts in recent days. If these guys thing Luke was in a relationship they wouldn’t have take this so far. So this is not to comment on either side of the Marina vs Penelope/Lady Whistledown argument. That would be an extremely long and detailed rant that I might do later. I will say that both Ruby Barker and Nicola Coughlan seem wonderful and I have nothing negative to say about either of them (and wish to hear nothing negative of either)! This is simply because the antis are ramping up again and I keep coming across a certain video. There is one phrase people have been quoting and I cannot keep myself from saying this anymore. You are all incorrect because you can, in fact, "Disneyfy a Dichhead". *Murder, Kidnapping, Manipulation/Mind Control,Torture even Sexual Assault have all forgiven and sometimes, at least seemingly, forgotten. The worst villans have been given a redemption arc and considered good or even heroic by the end and it all started with a new look and Tale of True Love.

Whats truly insane is that It Worked! It worked so well that it ran for SEVEN season!

FOR FUCKS SAKE, It only ended 5 years ago. There was even a one season spinoff with a complete story!

And this was all done on ABC with Disney characters portrayed as adults. So maybe we're all being a little hard on the teenagers in Netflix's regency Shondaland.

I don't think they had to send them on a honeymoon a bajillion times because you could have crafted a short storyline aired in pieces throughout the season to fill those moments they were there however...yeah. He was filming three projects at the same time. THAT fanbase said the show was racist or just terrified at overshadowing Polin. Neither ever true. Jonny and Simone deserve better fans.

So does Luke T and the new Sophie because that fanbase is as trash as Kanthony's is. They only, just a couple days ago, tried to playact weren't associated with an anti-polin tumblr that has existed for year's and attacked the actors not just characters and MINUTE upon new casting for season 4 started making comments like will finally have attractive leads again and other similar trash. I am very close to just streaming season 4 illegally with exception of Polin and a select few other characters just out of spite. And I've always, unlike them, watched everything not just my ship because I like the Bridgerton family and wanted more seasons. I'm really struggling with wanting to support Luke T. vs hating his fandom and not wanting to do anything helpful for THEM.

I already have tried to separate Kanthony from the actual fandom, not sure I can do that with Benophie too for another two years. None of the other character fandoms are like those two, and I'm still unsure WHY they are like this. Saphne fans weren't like this and they were more popular with the general audience than Kanthony. Regardless, antagonizing the fanbase of the most popular ship (which IS Polin) maybe not good idea when your season hasn't aired yet. Kanthony at least already aired and were trying to (unsuccessfully) sabotage season 3's success. Benophie's are NOT guaranteed our viewership when they continue to behave as they are. AND they should really let it sink in...the insular Bridgerton fandom does NOT represent the general viewership of the show. General fans love Polin.

Look no further than My Lady Jane that just got canceled. Their fanbase (and media) tried to hype up that show has better than Bridgerton and attacked Polin, season 3 and what happened? General public didn't take to the show and it was canceled just now after one season. You can talk in circles among your insular groups all you like, but no one season's is going to be successful if you can't expand your audience and maybe attacking a larger fanbase isn't the way to do that.

BTW...I watched clips of that show and the acting was bad. It was another YA adaptation and without good acting I tend to avoid those like the plague. Not surprised at all canceled. I kept trying to find actual streaming numbers for it as media hyped it against Bridgerton but there was nothing, which in itself was odd to me. If truly successful you'd usually see the streaming service bragging about it by posting numbers. I can only imaging Shondaland is laughing today at their supposed "rival" being one and done.

well re: jughead voice do they ever just have a conversation. so basically i've unlocked several levels of secret brain chemicals that make this movie better with each rewatch. and my stance now is like. well i don't think there's anything wrong with choosing to show a relationship's closeness through physicality, and i certainly don't mean to imply any purity culture anti sex bullshit. and in the story's defense these characters spend a lot of their time in different locations and they talk then and under those circumatances it makes sense that when they are in the same room all they want to do is make out sloppy style and have sex. like sure, of course. however. it would not have been the end of the world if there had been a little more balance going on. i saw queen charlotte i've seen this generally exact same romance arc done well... it's so crazy how it would have been good if only it had been good. oh well they can't all be shondaland productions.
