Coming from an ex-Catholic for whom the concept of Purgatory caused much stress and anxiety I wish people stopped seeing it as like. The middling afterlife for guys who are just sorta bad or the solution to the black and white thinking of Christian morality. The difference between Hell and Purgatory in Catholic theology is more akin to the difference between being sentenced to life in prison with maximum security and a shorter (yet still significant) sentence with an option for parole or bail. It's certainly better but not fundamentally all that different you catch me?

Rant/Vent: Can Christians just not?

I'm an anxious wreck right now... I just got of my Lyft rider's car so I should be fine. But the man was a talkative Christian, he literally assumed that I was Christian and I lied saying that I was just so I can get to my destination safely. He gave me a card to his church because he didn't like the fact that my mom gave me a boy name. Around the end of the ride he was pressuring me to text the number on his card too but thankfully I didn't get the chance to because he was at my destination.

And this is why I can't stand some Christians. Not everyone's a Christian and even if they are not everyone should go to your church like seriously. May his God forbid that he saw my keychain that says "Heathen" on my coffin shaped fanny pack, my pride pins on my coffin shaped backpack, and my wallpaper of Goku Black as a demon.

To make things worse is that I was actually hiding the pins I have on my backpack and I actually wanted to wear a choker and chain necklace with black lipstick and eyeshadow to work today but if I did that, the ride wouldn't have been so safe because some Christians automatically assume that we goths are Satanists. Now I'm sitting here thinking that I have to hide my expression of style just to be safe and it's fucking sad.
