Mara’s eyes widen as she eyes her niece and her bloodstained shirt. The nonchalant manner in which Jana states this discouraging, as the first thought that goes through Mara’s head is instinctively is that the blood is not Jaina’s. But as she rushes forward, she sees the mangled gnash against Jaina’s side, carefully concealed by her dark attire; yet blood seeps.

How very typical of a Solo to find trouble, Mara thinks, if only to find some levity amidst this moment. Her hands stretch to keep Jaina steady, as her emerald eyes look downward to the wound to assess the damage.

“ We need to staunch the bleeding, ” Mara says, tugging off her jacket and pressing it to Jaina’s side. Blood seeps through, dark and warm. “ What did you even do to get a wound like this ? Is it still out there ? ” Eyes briefly flash, thinking of an opponent - man or beast - out there, lurking in wait. “ Keep pressure here. I’m going to carry you to the ship ... and don’t worry. I’ll consider not telling your parents. ”

A small chuckle broke out of him at Jaina’s deadpan delivery of the line. The same could be said about himself, or anyone in their family, for that matter. Somehow someone out there always wanted them dead. “That’s a perfectly good reason to be alive.” He lightly shrugged. “Gotta make sure they know what they’re dealing with, right?”

character in general: 

MY NEICE. JAINA ORGANA SOLO. MY SWEETIE-PIE. she’s one of the reasons i love the eu so much. i always connected with luke, yeah, but if i had to pick a second, i would pick jaina. she’s so strong. she knows her own power. she doesn’t let her fear hold her back.

how they play them: 

you’ve made it difficult for me to SEE other jaina roleplayers. you’ve just made the character for me. you play to her strengths. your writing style is so fluid. your plot ideas--- you can build on stuff i send you, and you can make it angstier than anyone i’ve ever known. INCREDIBLE. pure wonder.

the mun: 

kritter, you damn well know you’re my best friend. i can’t even tell you how damn much i love you, because there’s not a damn big enough word for it. you have romantic soulmates, and then you have your platonic ones. you’re mine. i see my soul in you. you’re the best captain this first officer can ever ask for--- and i’ll always be the branch to your poppy. you show me how much courage is really in my heart.

10. What was the scariest moment you’ve had in public?

“ Being out with my son for the first time. ” 

Mara allows the words to hang in the air for a moment. They are words so typical for a mother, in their own way - Oh, when I lost my son ! Oh, when my son introduced me to his girlfriend ! Oh, when my son ... - no. None of that nonsense is something Mara fears. She remembers going out for the first time with him, him but so young and so small - fragile in her arms.

She remembers the fear leeching off of her body and mind as she mulled over the vultures and their inevitable descent onto her and the new Skywalker boy. Her blood had boiled to imagine Ben exposed to this. More so, she feared what prying eyes may be capable of. A sniper from a rooftop. A lurking presence in an alley. Anything.

“ One can never be too careful. ”

12. Where do you go to be alone?

“ My head. I don’t have to socialize in there. ”
