It's so stupid how one little comment makes him crumble — now kneeling face down, arms wrapped around chest attempting to steady uneven breaths. An overwhelming urge to tear off white fabric hidden below wells in his hands, his mind / as Sonic hides in one of many meeting rooms of the Restoration. How did he even notice? No one had commented on it before — yet this obnoxious recruit [ not even in the proper place to hold authority over Amy or himself ] felt it through his thick fabric shirt; purposely worn to avoid such a scenario like this.

Her words, even as Jewel and Tangle led Sonic to a more quiet location, echoed repeatedly. Engaged in a screaming match with the recruit [ gaia rest his soul as soon as they pull out the hammer ], the man could still hear everything though slightly muffled. Amy, defending his honor, while making sure not to out him at the same time.

The shaking stopped as soon as the door opened. His pink—haired companion stood proud, tall with a smile that says she really had taken care of the problem. But Sonic cannot stop himself from flying into their arms / the binder around his chest suddenly not feeling as tight as it did mere seconds ago. A relieved sigh says it all; a nonverbal thank you to his lover.

All Sonic had done was give the kid a high five / little arm reached out at his person as he passed by. The smile on her face was worth a million rings and more as fists made contact with a gentle bump. Yet, the poor tot was now clutching this woman's leg / obviously upset, with flattened ears, at her parent creating a scene. Ranting on and on about ' his influence over the future generations, encouraging them to make bad decisions in life ' . . . all while heavily cursing around her own spawn. Despite this, he stands strong — now attempting to defuse the situation. . .

. . . Before Scourge unexpectedly popped in, now standing between Earth's savior and some random karen. There's a brief exchange of words [ ringing in tense ears blocked out any of their squabbling ] before the woman pulled away with a stomp and a huff; now sporting a pissed off and offended expression.

Sonic gave one last wave to the child / crowd diffusing slowly as the bustle of everyday life was more important. The blue hedgehog inhaled softly before sparing a glimpse at his pine colored savior — smile never fading. . . but Scourge could see those soft lines under emerald eyes, the crinkled dimples of a truly honest smile directed at him.

❝ Thanks, dude. ❞ A brief pause allowed Sonic to sigh. ❝ I know we don't have the best relationship, but. . . you REALLY saved my butt back there! ❞

Muscles pump at inhuman speeds to keep up with Sonic's running; as his patience was more regulated these days, casual jogs had a comfortable spot in his schedule when available. SUNNY SKYS encouraged the hedgehog to explore one of many parks surrounding the city. This one he'd been to plenty of times, but not as recently as the man remembered. It was a stretch of land both quiet and peaceful for individuals and families alike; though, there were only a few others in passing this time around.

Just one more hour with helping out Tangle and Sonic could burrow in his house until it went away.

However, footsteps indicated Vanilla's approach snapped him out of his ill-induced daze. Her gentle words were soothing in comparison to the grating bustle of volunteers and soldiers.
