actually, my workplace used to have christmas tunes playing (all terrible off-brand covers of classics to get around whatever broadcasting laws limit our music selection), but I haven't heard them yet this year which is fine bc last year the christmas playlist just got mixed w/ the regular playlist so it was like: "hideous cover of silver bells" "that one song by that guy whose name I should know that's definitely about getting high on weed, but apparently the family-friendly censor who limits our music did NOT know that 'mary jane' was a name for weed and apparently neither do most of our customers bc I haven't gotten one complaint despite the unusually large number of christians we get coming through" "really boring instrumental cover of a christmas song that leaves no impressions whatsoever"

#I dunno what the song's name is and my mom knows the artists name bc she doesn't like his music #but it came on the radio while we were driving somewhere and I was like #''oh it's the weed song that plays at work sometimes''#and my mom was like ''what?''#turns out she didn't know mary jane was a name for weed either despite growing up w/ stoners #another backfiring of the anti-drug education program in schools of the 2000s-2010s I guess #since I apparently know a lot of names for weed and literally only bc of the anti-drug stuff in middle and high school #oracle of lore #(I am so tired sorry I'll probably delete after I get home from work later)
