Food for thought (I wonder if someone has talked about this before since I haven't checked tumblr for awhile hhh):

If a human and a ghoul have a child, will the child inherit the same stigma from their ghoul parent...? That is, if an union between a human and a ghoul is possible since it has never been mentioned in the story yet... but I kinda have a feeling that one or two of the ghouls we've known so far are actually offsprings between a human and a ghoul...🤔

I theorize that since the ghoul ate their demons to turn into one, they essentially have become the physical manifestation of the demon they ate and any of their offsprings will undoubtedly inherit a lot of their ghoul's traits including the stigma (there's more about this theory including what happened to the demon once the ghoul died and if it's possible for the offsprings to make a contract with another demon because they're still part human but maybe I will post something about it once I get my thoughts ordered;;;)

I've been mulling over this question for a while because I have a human OC who I paired with one of the ghouls and I plan to give them at least 2 children at the end of their story lol but if it is later canonically being mentioned that it is impossible for a ghoul and a human to conceive children... welp... either I will make my OC turn the world upside down to find a way for a ghoul to become human again ooorrr she becomes a ghoul herself since she just loves her ghoul husband too much to let him go 🤣

I mean, eating the demon is the leading theory not a canonically understood fact. Considering Alan said he became a ghoul by coincidence and Leo says they were chosen by their demons I can't imagine the process for becoming a ghoul actually necessarily involves consuming a demon(I'm sure some ghouls have consumed their demon in some capacity but I don't think that's going to end up a requirement.) Not to mention, Yuri, in his explanations for his theory on how ghouls are formed, does not mention consuming a demon as how demonic particles enter the body. Since he, himself, is a ghoul surely he'd mention that in his theory? Yuri gets a lot wrong and isn't the brightest but I think he would include his own experience in his theory somehow.

Ghouls are also largely functionally human except their boosted healing, boosted combat abilities, some increased senses in the case of Kaito and Leo, some physical changes in the case of Taiga and Towa, and their stigmas. I can't imagine they wouldn't be able to impregnate someone or get pregnant. But because of that I doubt they would pass on their stigmas or ghoul traits. Your stigma is a power given to you by your demon. I can't imagine it's a biological trait that can be passed on. Otherwise there'd be a lot more research into ghouls and stigmas than there seems to be at present. Maybe the offspring might inherit some increased strength and healing? But you get a stigma from a demon--you wouldn't be able to inherit being chosen by a demon. Your offspring wouldn't inherit your pact I'm sure, they have their own soul after all.

In the unlikely event they say humans and ghouls can't have children you can always just ignore it too lmao. Or give your oc some sort of curse or experimental procedure or anomalous explanation for how they got pregnant. I mean Lyca's half werewolf half human. So I don't think demi-human species are incompatible with humans lol.

a fun thing about anomalous point that I've never really talked about, and didn't get discussed much in the fic was the fact that Heath was literally an alien living in hiding on Daibazaal. Like, the Blade was trying to conceal all knowledge of Earth's existence, so not only was Keith always hiding his face outside of their base, but so was Heath. They gave him some Blade armor and passed him off as one of them, and nobody even batted an eye.

One of Dr. Mourning's parents include a supposed god of harvest and decay who has the main symbols of wheat, maize/corn, apples, ravens, and elk. Minor symbols include the cornucopia, mushrooms, masks, and decaying leaves. They are a tall, masked being with hair the color of wheat and antlers that resemble both an elk's and the branches of apple trees. They have cloven hoofed feet with raven feathers at the hocks that carry them with an unnatural sort of grace.

His other parent was a well-respected Foundation researcher who is currently listed as deceased due to being missing for long enough. No body has been located yet, however.
