I've had people question why this mare means so much to me, and the honest to god truth, is that she has saved me in ways no human ever could. She has been my one constant, my rock, and my touchstone for the past 6 years and I honestly wouldn't be here if it wasn't for this mare right here. Every time that I fell apart and thought I couldn't take it anymore, she was there. Every time someone who promised they would stay left, she was there. While I picked up the shattered pieces of myself and learned to put them all back together again, she was there. While I learned my worth and how to hold my head high, and proud of myself and the things I've learned and the things I've lived, she was there. This mare has been by my side longer than most people I know, and that is why she means the world to me. Because for a while, she was the only thing in my world that got me out of bed, and made me get through the day. She was the only one I could count on to be there for me.
