Tiffany flourished as a budding model while Miriam struggled as a design student, and an ugly fight ensued and they parted ways. Bella Hartley: Former singer, mermaid, gelatin dessert makerand reclusive baby of the group. After saving the world from a comet, Bella thought keeping her friendship and relationship after high school would be easy. But nothing is rarely easy. For starters, a girl named Emma Gilbert enters (or re-entered, according to Lewis) the picture, watching the girls foregoing their crystals, learning how long the girls were mermaids and found herself essentially pushed out. She tried to find solace in Will but found out he was cheating on her and just...couldn't find it in herself to forgive him. And he took the breakup badly. Like "restraining order" badly. This led to Bella living a somewhat isolated life when she decided to move from the coast. However, she's found a strange side hustle using her powers to create gelatin desserts with Agar Agar Powder (seaweed) which she makes and sells out of her home. She hadn't talked to any of the girls or guys since. One day, she was out buying ingredients when grabbed off the street and asked to be a stand-in model. The girl asked her seemed desperate and Bella didn't see the harm in helping her, just as long as she wasn't involved in anything with water. The shoot was really fun and when the model, who formally introduced herself as Tiffany, asked how she could repay her, and to her own surprise, Bella agreed to lunch...

How they become friends:

Miriam flat out asks Charlotte to work under her as a designer. While both careers are technically art, Charlotte's resistant. So, she takes her out to eat after the gallery and got drunk bonding over boys not wanting them, failed friendships, and the lowered self-esteem they fought through. Charlotte ended up saying yes during the hangover the next morning.

Bella and Tiffany had lunch together and bonded over being underappreciated and unimportant in their friendships and relationships. Bella brought one of her gelatine desserts to the table and with one taste, Tiffany was already offering to invest in her side business.

Miriam and Tiffany ended up meeting again somewhere down the road when Miriam had created a lot of clothes that needed models in them and truly didn't expect the "T. Brown" she hired to be Tiffany. Initially awkward, Miriam powered through it and impressed Tiffany with her plans, who then impressed her with her understanding of business and gave her advice on how to grow if she planned on opening a boutique. The encounter would be the beginning of a bridge rebuilding between them.

Tiffany met Charlotte during the shoot and was impressed that her artwork was the inspiration behind Miriam's designs. Charlotte claims she's just a painter who's learning as she goes along but Miriam is a huge help. She shows Tiffany one of her paintings and Tiffany is quick to buy one.

That painting she brought from Charlotte ended up proudly in Tiffany's home and when Bella came over, she instantly recognized the artwork that could only match the insight of a mermaid. She wanted to meet the painter behind the painting and Tiffany just arranged a breakfast meeting for all four women. Meeting Charlotte, she easily doesn't expect her to be one, having not to drink from a straw and spilled a drink on herself. But the same can't be said for Bella, who gets hit with the drink and runs and...Charlotte follows and THAT'S how the two find out they share a past with a familiar group of friends.

Meanwhile, Miriam (who knows the signs) is surprised that Bella might be a mermaid but has no idea why Charlotte followed after her...or she does and doesn't want to admit it. She won't deny it: Bella's beautiful and if she wasn't already Bisexual, she would turn for her. However, she sees a bit of a loner attitude, which is a far cry from what Tiffany calls her ("the embodiment of living sunshine") but part of her couldn't help but be intrigued by the crystal around her neck. Maybe it's the designer in her, but she's never seen a gem like that before. Tiffany is a bit worried about how long the girls have been home, but Miriam stops her, saying Charlotte likely has her talking and will be out sooner than expected. It's an hour later when they return, Bella completely shamefaced, but apologizing for taking so long and blaming part of it on a conversation. As an ice breaker, Charlotte asked where they all went to school and it shocked them when they all realize they were all students at South Coast High, just missing each other shy of a few years and classes. Tiffany asks how she could miss both girls, but to answer that is a bit painful (especially because it regards being a mermaid and saving the world). Charlotte just calls it preoccupations and rotten luck, which Miriam is happy to drink to that. But when Tiffany starts talking and casually name drops Lewis, which catches Bella off-guard on how she knows him, which raises the question of how Bella knows him and Miriam just starts day drinking early because this breakfast was no longer just about chance coincidences.

Mary William Ethelbert Appleton "Billie" Burke (August 7, 1884 – May 14, 1970) was an American actress, famous on Broadway and in early silent film and subsequently in sound film, best known to modern audiences as Glinda the Good Witch of the North in the movie musical The Wizard of Oz. Billie Burke was born Mary Burke, the daughter of William "Billy" Burke and Blanche (née Beatty 1844–1921), in Washington, D.C. Her family ultimately settled in London where she attended plays in the West End. In 1903, she began acting on stage, making her debut in London in The School Girl. Burke went on to play leads on Broadway in Mrs. Dot, Suzanne,The Runaway, The "Mind-the-Paint" Girl, and The Land of Promise from 1910 to 1913, along with a supporting role in the revival of Sir Arthur Wing Pinero's The Amazons. There she caught the eye of producer Florenz Ziegfeld, marrying him in 1914. Two years later they had a daughter, Patricia Ziegfeld Stephenson (1916–2008).

The actress's beauty and taste made her a major trendsetter throughout the 1910s and 20s. Much of her wardrobe, on screen and off, at this time was provided by the leading European couturier Lucile (in private life Lady Duff Gordon), whose New York branch was then the fashion mecca for socialites and entertainment celebrities.

Burke was signed for the movies, making her cinematic debut in the title role of Peggy (1915). Her success was phenomenal, and she was soon earning what was reputedly the highest salary granted a motion picture actress up to that time. She followed her first feature with the 15-part serial Gloria's Romance (1916), another popular and critically acclaimed vehicle. By 1917 Billie Burke was a favorite with silent movie fans, rivaling Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish,Clara Kimball Young and Irene Castle. Billie Burke starred primarily in provocative society dramas and comedies, similar in theme to The "Mind-the-Paint" Girl, her most successful American play. The star's girlish charm rivaled her acting ability, and as she dressed to the hilt in fashionable gowns, furs and jewelry, her clothes sense also won the devotion of female audiences. Among the films in which she appeared during this period were Arms and the Girl(1917), The Mysterious Miss Terry,Let's Get a Divorce (1918), Good Gracious, Annabelle (1919), Away Goes Prudence (1920) and The Frisky Mrs. Johnson (1920).

In 1933, Burke was cast as Millicent Jordan, a scatterbrained high-society woman hosting a dinner party in the comedy Dinner at Eight, directed by George Cukor, co-starring with Lionel Barrymore, Marie Dressler, John Barrymore, Jean Harlow and Wallace Beery. The movie was a great success, and revived her career. She subsequently starred in many comedies and musicals, typecast as a ditzy, fluffy and feather-brained upper-class matron with her high-pitched voice.

In 1936, MGM filmed a sanitized biopic of Florenz Ziegfeld (The Great Ziegfeld), a film that won Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Actress (Luise Rainer as Ziegfeld's common-law wife, Anna Held). William Powell played Flo Ziegfeld and Myrna Loy played Burke, which infuriated Burke because she was under contract to the studio and could have played herself, but MGM considered her too old to cast in the part despite her obviously having the look and mannerisms down perfectly otherwise.

Despite her success in film, Billie Burke eventually returned to the stage, appearing in Caesar's Wife (1919), The Intimate Strangers (1921), The Marquise (1927) and The Happy Husband (1928). But when the family's savings were wiped out in the Wall Street Crash of 1929, she took up screen acting again to aid her husband.

In 1937 Burke appeared in the first of the Topper films, about a man haunted by two socialite ghosts (played by Cary Grant and Constance Bennett), in which she played the twittering and daffy Clara Topper. Her performance as Emily Kilbourne in Merrily We Live (1938) resulted in her only Oscar nomination. In 1938 she was chosen to play Glinda the Good Witch of the North, in the musical The Wizard of Oz (1939), directed by Victor Fleming, with Judy Garland. She had worked on a Garland film, Everybody Sing, in which she played Judy's histrionically hysterical actress-mother. Another successful film series followed withFather of the Bride (1950) and Father's Little Dividend (1951), both directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Burke wrote two autobiographies, both with Cameron Van Shippe, With a Feather on My Nose (Appleton 1949) and With Powder on My Nose (Coward McCann, 1959).

Radio and television

In 1932, Burke made her Hollywood comeback, starring as Margaret Fairfield in A Bill of Divorcement, directed by George Cukor. (She played Katharine Hepburn's mother in the film, which was Hepburn's debut). Despite the death of Florenz Ziegfeld during the film's production, she resumed filming shortly after his funeral.

On CBS Radio, The Billie Burke Show was heard on Saturday mornings from April 3, 1943 until September 21, 1946. Sponsored by Listerine, this situation comedy was initially titled Fashions in Rations during its first year. Portraying herself as a featherbrained Good Samaritan who lived "in the little white house on Sunnyview Lane," she always offered a helping hand to those in her neighborhood. She worked often in early television, appearing in the short-lived sitcom Doc Corkle (1952). She was a guest star on several TV and radio series, including Duffy's Tavern.

On television, Burke starred in her own talk show, At Home With Billie Burke, which ran on the DuMont Television Network from June 1951 through the spring of 1952. She was one of the first female talk show hosts, after the hostesses of the earlier DuMont series And Everything Nice (1949–50) and Fashions on Parade (1948–49) which both included some talk show segments.

Burke tried to make a comeback on the New York stage. She starred in two short-lived productions: This Rock and Mrs. January and Mr. X. Although she got good reviews, the plays did not. She appeared in several plays in California as well, although her mind became clouded, and she had trouble remembering lines. In the late 1950s, her failing memory led to her retirement from show business, although her explanation for that was, "Acting just wasn't any fun anymore."

Burke's last screen appearance was in Sergeant Rutledge (1960), a Western directed by John Ford.

This past week, I had the most awesome opportunity of hanging out with the stars of the new horror film #EscapeRoom at the Room Escape Los Angeles after an incredibly tasty reception at the Pink Taco restaurant. I’ve done a few Escape Rooms in my life before and those of you who know me well know that I was never really good at solving puzzles, which is why this whole game is perfect because it…

Things I think about:

• Miriam goes by "Mira K." Or "Mira" now.

• Charlotte is shocked to know Miriam already knows about mermaids and who they are.

• Miriam was shocked to find out Charlotte was a mermaid and angry as to how it all started

• (She ends up wishing she'd been more stealthy stealing that locket during that sleepover)

• Charlotte finds it hysterical when she learns why Miriam named her brand, Land B4 Seas

• Land B4 Seas becomes very popular over time and unknowingly, Kim Sertori becomes obsessed with Miriam's designs and wants to mentor under her.

• Back then (referring to 1x02), Miriam did heavily consider using the video of Cleo as a mermaid and Rikki's powers as collateral blackmail. But despite multiple opportunities, including being frozen alive, she decided to save it for a future favor.

• All the girls more or less have Bi panic hearing Bella sing for the first time.

• When Tiffany found out Bella once lived in Ireland, she said her beauty must come from being a Selkie, which caused Bella to choke on her drink because of how close it was to the actual truth.

• Bella outs herself to the girls and the only one surprised is Tiffany.

• Tiffany almost found out by accident prior

• None of the girls are a fan of Will Benjamin (a cheap, knock-off, dollar store Chris Hemsworth - Miriam)

• Miriam owns a licensed gun and knows how to shoot.

• Meaning if Will pokes his head around Bella again, she will use it.

• Charlotte becomes more of a part of Miriam's career when she introduces some of her handcrafted jewelry made from sea glass found on the beach, which inspires Miriam to start a jewelry line.

• Bella is encouraged to go into the model business by Tiffany

• Tiffany finds herself catching feeling for Miriam and doesn't know how to process it

• Miriam finds herself back in town and runs into an old flame, Zane Bennett

• Charlotte finds herself meeting Lewis under mysterious circumstances

• Miriam encourages Charlotte to get her tail back (because they made her the Bad Guy/no one's stopping her/her art is lacking and Miriam needs inspiration)

• A brush with paranoia leads Bella to take self-defense classes with a no-nonsense trainer

• Miriam finds herself questioning herself after a photoshoot with Tiffany

• When Land B4 Seas takes off enough that Miriam can open her boutique, she gets a surprising offer.

• Bella finds herself falling for her trainer and reuniting with her ex.

• Charlotte considers if she could handle being a mermaid once more.

• Tiffany and Miriam finally confess to one another.

Q&A WITH DIRECTOR ALEX RANARIVELO

Q) You’ve made multiple films with ESX Entertainment. What is the process like for you when you decide which projects you want to direct? When deciding on what project I’d like to direct next, it all starts with the story. Does it have an interesting hook and does it have heart? Like the main character in PRAY FOR RAIN, I knew very little about the water crisis in the Central Valley when I first read the script. I had no idea how important this area was for the country and it made me want to find out more about what’s going on there. That is how I hope audiences will respond to the film.

Q) Did much change between the script and the production while on set? There weren’t many changes between the script and what ended up on screen; mostly some dialogue and adjustments for location changes.

Q) How did the communities in Northern and Central California react to the production? The communities we filmed in – Petaluma and Coalinga – were very receptive to us. John Harris of Harris Ranch was a tremendous supporter and gave us unlimited access to his properties.

Q) What was it like working with the main cast, including Jane Seymour, Annabelle Stephenson, and Nicholas Gonzalez? I had a dream cast on PRAY FOR RAIN. Everyone was perfect in their role. Jane Seymour and Annabelle Stephenson got so in sync as mother and daughter that at one point I stopped needing to give any direction. Maybe just small adjustment here or there. Nicholas Gonzalez was a total team player and brought strength and vulnerability to his role of Sheriff Nico.

Q) How do the themes in the film reflect our current environment following the election? President Trump said last year that the water problem is “insane” and “we are going to solve your water problem.” I hope he sticks to that promise.

Q) What should audiences know most about the film before seeing it? Audiences should know that we are not proposing a solution for the water problem. We want to present the argument and we want to raise awareness for what’s going on. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions, but in the meantime, just enjoy watching this story.

ABOUT THE CAST

JANE SEYMOUR (“Olivia Gardner”) A multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner, recipient of the Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in the year 2000, which was bestowed upon her by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, Jane Seymour has proven her talents in virtually all media, the Broadway stage, motion pictures and television.  Her love of art and color has led to her great success as a painter in watercolors and oils and as a designer.

Seymour currently stars opposite Adam Sandler in the Netflix original feature film “Sandy Wexler” and co-stars with Malcolm McDowell in the stirring independent film “Bereave Me Not”, a film which she also produced.   She also made a stunning return to series television in the Sky TV drama “Hooten and the Lady” which debuted in the UK in September of 2016.

Most importantly, Seymour continues to raise much needed funds and gives through donations of her artwork to numerous local and national charities which help children in need, raising awareness for women’s heart health and various other important issues dear to her heart. Seymour resides in Malibu, is mother to six adult children and a grandmother of six.

  ANNABELLE STEPHENSON (“Emma Gardner”) Annabelle Stephenson was born in London, England. Her family emigrated to the Gold Coast, Australia when she was an infant. Her breakout role was in 2006, when she landed the role of ‘Miriam Kent’ in the hit children’s TV show “H20: Just Add Water”.

After graduating high school, Annabelle was one of the select few accepted into the prestigious school NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) in Sydney. She joined the alumni of successful Australian actors, such as Cate Blanchett, Baz Luhrmann and Sam Worthington, and graduated with a B.A. in Acting. Since graduating NIDA, Annabelle has had a stellar career in TV, film, theatre and radio in Australia.

She is now based in Los Angeles. Since moving to LA her credits include Series Regular on ABC’s “Revenge”. Starring in Amazon pilot “Point of Honor”, working with Randall Wallace (Braveheart) and Carlton Cuse (Lost); Lead actress in MTV’s “Hot Mess” pilot. Annabelle also has another film “Escape Room” (Voltage Pictures) soon to be released.

  NICHOLAS GONZALEZ (“Nico Reynoso”) Nicholas Gonzalez continues to impress with a substantial list of current and upcoming projects.   JOHN DUCEY (“Adam Campbell”) John Ducey arrived in Los Angeles in 1991 with a Chevy Corsica and a dream. That dream was to one day own a better car than a Chevy Corsica. Since that day, John has had starring TV roles in NBC’s Bad Judge, WB’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch, ABC’s Oh Grow Up!, and Disney Channel’s JONAS. He has also guest-starred on many of your favorite shows, including Will & Grace, Bones, Castle, iCarly, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, Ally McBeal, Frasier, and even Matlock. (He’s been doing this a long time, people.) His movie roles include Running Wild, Deep Impact, Space Jam, and the Christmas classic, The Search for Santa Paws (Spoiler alert: they find him). John has also dabbled in writing, including this bio, and Dirt, starring Kevin Dillon and the beautiful Christina Moore. John now drives a Toyota Corolla. The dream continues.

  JAMES MORRISON (“Patrick Waring”) Best known as the honest and stalwart head of CTU, Bill Buchanan, in four seasons FOX’s Emmy Award-winning series, 24.  He will soon be appearing in the much anticipated TWIN PEAKS reboot on Showtime.

James started his acting career as a clown and wire walker for the Carson and Barnes Wild Animal Circus in the mid-1970’s and served his theatrical apprenticeship with the Alaska Repertory Theatre during its 1977-79 seasons. Since then, he’s done about a hundred plays at theatres like Princeton’s McCarter Theatre, the La Jolla Playhouse, the Mark Taper Forum, the LA Stage Company, The Jupiter Theatre, The Salt Lake Acting Company, The Old Globe, and The Pasadena Playhouse with such wonderful directors as Emily Mann, Don Amendolia, Des McAnuff, Jack O’Brien, Charles Nelson Reilly, Jose Quintero and Harry Mastrogeorge, his acting teacher since 1982.  He also has appeared in the films The Meanest Man in Texas, The Jazz Funeral, Catch Me If You Can, The One, Falling Down, Raspberry Magic, Jarhead, and I Am I.

James and his wife and son are actively involved in charity work, raising money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Foundation ThinkAgain, which helps children who are cancer and brain tumor survivor.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS

ALEX RANARIVELO, Director A prolific, visual, and collaborative storyteller, Alex Ranarivelo has directed six feature films for ESX Entertainment since June 2014 (“The Dog Lover”, “American Wrestler”, “Running Wild”, “Pray for Rain”, “Dirt” & “Ride”). He graduated at the top of his class with a B.F.A in film production from Art Center College of Design. His thesis film was a 35mm short film about street racing called “The Last Race”, based on his experiences as a street-racer.

He made his feature debut with a rough-and-tumble romantic comedy from a guy’s perspective: “Alpha Males Experiment” (aka “Knuckle Draggers”). It played at multiple festivals and placed in Best of Fest’s top 10 Comedies of the year. In 2010, Alex’s script “The Girl With No Name” won the GRAND PRIZE at the Slamdance Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and was subsequently optioned by Co-Op Entertainment.

Alex went back to his street-racing roots for his second feature “Born To Race”, a teen action film centered around a father/son story. He co-wrote the script and was hired to direct it. Born To Race was a hit domestically and internationally in the home video market. A rip of the movie showed up on YouTube and got over 7 MILLION VIEWS before being taken down. Alex also directed the sequel, “Born To Race: Fast Track”, starring Brett Davern and Beau Mirchoff of MTV’s “Awkward.”

When producer Ali Afshar first teamed up with executive producer Forrest Lucas to create ESX Entertainment, Alex was brought on to direct their first film, the suspenseful, character-driven “The Dog Lover” (starring James Remar and Lea Thompson). Next came “American Wrestler: The Wizard” which follows a 17-year-old Iranian refugee who becomes the high school wrestling champion against adversity during the Iran hostage crisis of 1980. In this period piece, Alex directed Jon Voight, William Fichtner and discovered newcomers George Kosturos and Lia Marie Johnson. The film won multiple awards on the festival circuit including “Best Picture” and “Best Ensemble” at the Boston Film Festival, the audience award at the Austin Film Festival and the audience award at the Napa Film Festival.

Next came “Running Wild”, where Alex was at the helm of a picturesque, dramatic piece about a California Ranch Socialite poised to lose everything who creates a Prison Rehabilitation Equine Program after finding starving wild horses on her property. Dorian Brown and Jason Lewis go head to head with animal lover Sharon Stone. Tommy Flanagan also stars.

Alex directed Jane Seymour and Paul Rodriguez in “Pray for Rain,” a murder mystery set against the backdrop of the Central California drought. A young girl begins to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding her father’s death and discovers that the idyllic farm community of her youth has been replaced by crime and desperation. Newcomer Annabelle Stephenson leads the cast. Nicholas Gonzalez also stars.

He went back to the motorsports world for “Dirt”, his 5th movie with ESX Entertainment. “Dirt” is about a weathered race team owner (Kevin Dillon) who can’t quite get his team to gel when he is asked to take on a kid (newcomer DeRon Horton) from the hood that needs a work furlough to avoid jail time. He reluctantly agrees and the unlikely pair create quite a stir in the redneck sport of short course off road truck racing.

Alex just wrapped production on “Ride”, about a troubled boy from a Neo-Nazi family who is sent to a juvenile detention center after stabbing his dad who ends up being fostered by an interracial couple. Based on the true story of John Buultgens, the young boy overcomes his past and soars into his future on a BMX bicycle.  The film stars Chris Bridges (Ludacris), Sasha Alexander, and newcomer Shane Graham.

  FORREST LUCAS, Executive Producer By any measure Forrest Lucas is an extraordinary presence in U.S. entrepreneurial success stories. Born in Jackson County and raised in Brown and Bartholomew counties in Indiana, Forrest purchased his first truck, a 1948 Ford dump truck powered by a ’55 Thunderbird engine, at the age of 18.   CHRISTINA MOORE, Writer/Producer Christina Moore, known for her success as an actress (HBO “True Blood”, The CW “90210”, The Disney Channel “Jessie”), has recently added writing and producing to her long resume.

“Running Wild” starring Sharon Stone and Tommy Flanagan was released in select theaters and VOD in February 2017. The film is a picturesque, dramatic piece about a Ranch Socialite who after finding wild horses on her property, risks everything to create a Prison Rehabilitation Equine Program. Moore co-penned the movie, produced it and stars as Stone’s evil sister, Jennifer Hutchins.

Moore also co-wrote and co-produced “Pray for Rain” starring Jane Seymour and Paul Rodriguez. The film is a gritty murder mystery set in Central California as it has been ravaged by drought.

Moore has another ESX Entertainment production under her belt called “Dirt.” She produced the film and plays the female lead as wife to Kevin Dillon. “Dirt” is a fun, action film set in the world of off road dirt track racing.  It will be released late 2017.

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

Okay, so that was yesterday...but still, happy Cold Moon, or as we’re calling each full moon over here at FYH2O: Full Moon Madness.

Since it’s evident that we don’t update this blog as much as we’d like to, I (Kelly), have come up with a fun way to hold at least myself accountable to updating this blog monthly.

Every month, there’s a Full Moon. (our fave merpeople definitely know that)

Live Update: Dustin Johnson reclaims No. 1 ranking with Memphis win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Dustin Johnson emphatically reclaimed the No. 1 ranking Sunday, holing out for eagle from 170 yards on the final hole for a six-stroke victory in the St. Jude Classic.

Johnson shot a 4-under 66 for his second PGA Tour victory this year and 18th of his career to take back the No. 1 ranking he held for 64 straight weeks before dropping down a month ago. He won the event for the second time, finishing with the eagle, three birdies and a bogey for a 19-under 261 total.

Andrew Putnam started the final round with a share of the lead for the first time in his career. He shot 72 and finished at 13 under.

Preparing for the U.S. Open, Johnson took the lead to himself with a par on No. 1, while Putnam double-bogeyed, and cruised to the $1.18 million winner’s check. Johnson turned in the lowest score under par by a winner here since David Toms won at 20 under in 2003, and that was before the course was redesigned with par dropped from 71 to 70 after the 2004 tournament.

Johnson, who won the U.S. Open in 2016, heads to Shinnecock Hills after stringing together four straight rounds in the 60s. He went 67, 63 and 65 before wrapping up a final round that felt almost like a practice round with the only question remaining how low Johnson would go.

At least until his dramatic walk-off eagle. Johnson was in the intermediate rough to the right of the fairway, and the ball bounded twice before rolling into the cup.

CURTIS CUP

SCARSDALE, N.Y. (AP) – Kristen Gillman led a U.S. singles sweep Sunday in the biggest blowout in Curtis Cup history.

Gillman, the 20-year-old University of Alabama star from Austin, Texas, beat 16-year-old Annabell Fuller 5 and 4 to cap a perfect weekend at Quaker Ridge in the amateur competition.

The Americans won 17-3, breaking the record for margin of victory of 11 set in a 14 1/2-3 1/2 victory at Denver Country Club in 1982. They improved to 29-8-3 in the series, rebounding from a loss in 2016 at Dun Laoghaire in Ireland.

Gillman, the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, joined American Stacy Lewis (2008) and England’s Bronte Law (2016) as the only players to go 5-0-0 since the format was changed to three days in 2008.

Sophia Schubert, the Texas senior and 2017 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, started the singles rout with a 2-and-1 victory over Olivia Mehaffey. In the other matches, top-ranked Lilia Vu defeated Sophie Lamb 2 up; Jennifer Kupcho, the NCAA individual winner this year for Wake Forest, beat Lily May Humphreys 2 and 1; Andrea Lee edged Alice Hewson 2 and 1; Lauren Stephenson beat Shannon McWilliam 2 and 1; 15-year-old Lucy Li defeated India Clyburn 5 and 4; and Mariel Galdiano held off Paula Grant 1 up.

The U.S. won all five sessions for the first time, and every American earned at least two points.

LPGA TOUR

GALLOWAY, N.J. (AP) – Annie Park won the ShopRite LPGA Classic for her first LPGA Tour victory, closing with an 8-under 63 for a one-stroke victory over Sakura Yokomine.

The 23-year-old Park, from Levittown, New York, had an eagle and six birdies on a cloudy day over the Bay Course at Stockton Seaview to complete 54 holes at 16-under 197, a stroke off the tournament record.

Yokomine, the winner of 23 events on the Japan LPGA Tour, flirted with a 59 but parred the par-5 18th for a 61 to tie the course record.

New Jersey native Marina Alex was third at 14 under after a 64. She made a hole-in-one at the par-3 17th. Sei Young Kim, who broke the course record Sunday morning when she finished her second round with back-to-back birdies for a 61, had a 70 to finish fourth at 13 under.

Park won the 2013 NCAA individual title as a freshman at Southern California and helped the Trojans take the team crown.

PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Tom Lehman won the Principal Charity Classic when final-round play was washed out at Wakonda Club.

Tournament officials delayed the start of the third round by nearly five hours because of bands of light but persistent rain before calling the event.

The 59-year-old Lehman shot a 7-under 65 on Saturday to reach 13 under and take a two-shot lead over Bernhard Langer, Glen Day, Woody Austin and Scott Parel. From neighboring Minnesota, Lehman won for the 11th time on the 50-and-over tour.

EUROPEAN TOUR

ATZENBRUGG, Austria (AP) – Mikko Korhonen of Finland won the inaugural Shot Clock Masters by six strokes for his first European Tour title.

Korhonen closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 16 under. Connor Syme of Scotland, who only turned professional in September, holed a 60-foot birdie putt on the 18th for a 69 to finish second. The event was the first on the tour with a 40-second shot clock for most strokes.

WEB.COM TOUR

MUNDELEIN, Ill. (AP) – Chase Wright won the Rust-Oleum Championship for his first Web.com Tour victory, beating Alex Prugh with a birdie on the second extra hole.

The 28-year-old Wright won a week after losing a playoff in a U.S. Open qualifier. He closed with his third staight 4-under 68 to match Prugh at 17-under 281 at Ivanhoe Club.

Wright hit a 7-iron from 170 yards to 5 feet to set up his winning putt.

Prugh shot a 67. Christian Brand was a stroke back after a 70.

Panuphol Pittayarat of Thailand closed with an even-par 70 to win the Thailand Open by one shot over Poom Saksansin on the Asian Tour. Panuphol won on his home course at the Thai Country Club. … Charlie Saxon closed with a 3-under 69 and won the Guilin Championship for his fourth title on the PGA Tour Series-China, matching the fledgling tour’s record by Dou Zecheng. Saxon, who lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, won by one shot over Zhang Jin. … Neil Schietekat shot a 5-under 67 for a one-shot victory over Louis de Jager in the Sun City Challenge on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa. … Pedro Figuerido of Portugal overcame a four-shot deficit by closing with a 7-under 64, and then won the Hauts de France Golf Open on the European Challenge Tour in a three-man playoff over Anton Karlsson of Sweden and Stuart Manley of Wales. … Sam Fidone won the Bayview Place DC Bank Open in Victoria, British Columbia, for his first PGA Tour Canada title.
