This is technically the exact opposite of how 'Ballgowninator' is intended to be played (people are meant to send in pictures or descriptions of people, for whom I then design a ballgown, rather than sending in a picture of a ballgown for which I add facial details to the person wearing it), which made it an interesting creative challenge. Here's what I came up with:

I also tried my hand, pun intended, at painting her with nail polish after seeing the illustration posted with the tag 'nail art'.

There are a few ways this could be done but I think using couching stitches to attach yarn or ribbon to a completed dress would be the best way to create a unified web over the whole garment.
