Hello! I think you are thinking of Ennigaldi-Nanna, daughter of the last Babylonian king Nabonidus. Not Hittite, alas, and the Neo-Babylonians have never been a strong point for me, but some quick research suggests that most of what we know is that a) she existed and was a priestess, and b) she, like her dad, was pretty into antiquarianism, and so had this collection of cool old stuff. Given that he IIRC took power by coup, and also that this was the end of it for Babylonian rule, my guess is that there was some interest in legitimacy and staying power at the heart of it all.

(Okay, I just checked her Wikipedia page, which is a thing that she has and that is pretty great! It is, shall we say, a tad generous in its estimation of what we can know about why she set all this up and what she was doing with it, but overall seems basically legit.)

The Hittites, incidentally, were not really antiquarians, but we do have some older texts in their archives that they kept over the centuries. The only one that seems to be pre-Hittite is the proclamation of Anitta, king of a nearby city in the century preceding the Hittites' rise, who makes a point of mentioning that he conquered Hattusa (their capital), razed it, and sowed weeds on the site and cursed anyone who settled there going forward. It's a super weird text because no one was writing documents in Hittite at the time when Anitta existed (as far as we know, anyway) so - this is a translation from an Akkadian original? they made it up? someone had memorized it and they reconstructed it just for a pointed "fuck you" at the dude who thought no one could live in their city? It's wild.

The reactions to the Anitta mv reminded me why I tend to avoid fandoms of male artists. The infantilization of grown men and the vilification of any woman that as much as breathes the same air as them is always the same, especially when the artist in question is conventionally attractive and his fanbase largely consists of women. Harry Styles' fanbase is the ultimate example of that, I like him and his music but his fans' misogynistic attitude is so offputing that I can't become more invested.

I find it quite hypocritical that some fans shit on Gio for her racist remarks in the past (which she apologized for) and talk about how problematic she is because of this and thus doesn’t want her near the band, but at the same time don’t say anything about their “friendship” with Anitta who has done the exact same things multiple times without apologizing for it. No hate to any of them (and I hope that the both of them has developed and learned from the past) but it’s just ✨interesting ✨ how some people are critical only when it fits their own narrative…

I’ll let this ask involving Gio slide since it also mentions Anitta and isn’t overly hateful.

It's pretty hilarious to see so much enthusiasm for Anitt*'s collaboration with Vic from the same people who turned their noses up at Damiano's collaboration with Anitt* saying it's cringe, that Damiano shouldn't agree to play in his MV and more other very nasty things. Anyway, glad to see you applauding Vic for the same thing you blame and insult Damiano and Anitt* lmao. What I want to emphasize is the high level of hypocrisy and double standards in this fandom
