Re: Zero kara hajimeru isekai seikatsu (Re: Zero starting life in another world) Season 1 episode 1 – Hajimari no owari to owari no hajimari (The end of the beginning and the beginning of the end) episode review
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be in another world? Like in fantasy games and RPG? Or ever gotten curious to what it’s like meeting mythical and magical creatures and interacting with them? Or even having a guild or something of the like? Well, if you said yes to that, then you must be an Isekai fan! What is that anyway? Well it’s a Japanese term for anime that has another world for a setting. Which means, it could be that you, like me, are from regular earth and may wound up teleported or transported via a magical circle or whatnot to another world. Anime with that kind of theme is called Isekai.
Most Isekai-type anime I am fond of is Konosuba, Tweeny witches, Digimon, Shield hero and Magic Knight Rayearth, just to name a few. So I decided to watch Re:zero because it was really popular and the art style attracted me that I got curious, thinking it must be like the ones I watched. But apparently, that was not the case. Some aspects were the same as the usual Isekai anime but they also had some difference. (I was not prepared to actually love it.)
Before I dive in further, I’d like to inform you that some spoilers are ahead and that my narrative is meant to showcase my opinion alone and not represented by any organization or whatsoever with which I have been, am now or ever to be affiliated.
I’d like to give a brief background of the main character. His name is Natsuki Subaru. He is an average boy probably in his late teens and is shown in the first episode wearing sweats. It was that simple at first. He was seen buying snacks in a convenience store (Mini Stop to be precise) It was a very normal setting. As this scene keeps going, some flashbacks or visions of other parts of the episode was being shown. It seemed that Subaru was not aware of the visions. Soon after he went out of the store and no preamble, he just blinked and voilà! He is for some reason, in another world! The world he was teleported into was medieval-looking and had various creatures but mostly humans were there at that time. The town he appeared in is later revealed to be Luginica. It is definitely not like other typical Isekai wherein a creature of some sort starts to explain stuff or maybe even a fairy transports the main character via a magic circle. There was no further explanation. The funny thing is that he was even wearing the same sweats, and armed with a plastic bag of chips and noodles. (Not exactly his very hero-like expectations at all) Subaru even walks around this other-worldly town checking if he has some powers but still his expectations failed him. The written language was unreadable and the money is a different currency. This, he discovers as he asked a fruit vendor and is shooed away because he was considered moneyless in this world. Eventually he runs into a group of thugs followed by a running girl who is later known as Felt. Felt was actually a thief who was running away from someone she stole from and did not stop to help Subaru. In a while after being harassed and beaten by the goons, another girl appears. This time it is Emilia. (Take note that this is her real name but first goes to introduce herself as Satella.) She is a beautiful half elf with silver hair. A slight segue, she is voiced by Rie Takahashi who happens to voice Megumin from Konosuba. Fun fact: Re:zero has a fun spin-off and crossover with other Isekai anime, titled: Isekai quartet and Rie Takahashi will be playing both roles.
Continuing on, seeing a helpless Subaru, Emilia, along with her familiar Puck, saves him from the goons. But thinking initially that it was Subaru who stole her Insignia. After clearing up the misunderstanding, Subaru returns the favor as a “good deed” and helps Emilia to look for the thief. In looking, they wound up in the slums of the town late at night, in a loot house of Old Man Rom. Subaru went inside the dark loot house because no one answered and stumbled upon the corpse of presumably, the Old man Rom. Subaru hears a female voice. Unfortunately, the killer was still inside and slashed him. Emilia also enters and gets killed first. Subaru, writhing in pain dies moments later. Yes. He died. The main character died.
Now, while I was watching, I was surprised by the turn of events. This was shocking to me because it was really unexpected. I was thinking like, “what the heck was that?”
The episode is not yet finished. It’s longer than most anime and continues on to Subaru a moments later being alive! How? The next scene after he died, he was right back to where he started – talking with the fruit vendor in the town. However, Subaru clearly remembers where he was before and how he died so it was confusing to him as to me. Now, I’m going to stop here for now because I am not going to summarize everything afterwards that happened. I already revealed the gist of how the story goes. (I even feel I revealed too much) but for me, what I said above is the biggest highlight and I want to express how things led to it. I wanted to give a background to how thrilling and exciting the first episode is! Did I like it? Yes! Do I want to keep watching? Yes! Is it highly recommended to fellow anime enthusiasts? Yes! I especially admire Subaru. Despite being a regular person, his personality is really great, considering he just got himself in really dire, life and death situations. He was in pain. He was slashed, and killed! Despite what happened (and keeps happening) he still wants to be a hero for Emilia’s sake. In the succeeding episodes, I think we can see more of his heroism and a closeness between him and Emilia will be evident.
Overall, this anime is really great! The story is entertaining and this is just the beginning but it already packed a punch! The second season also got released this year and as soon as it was released, it was already the talk of the town, much to be expected of a great anime anyway. I also hope that a third season will be underway because Re: zero is definitely one of my favorite Isekai anime.
Despite loving the storyline of this anime, I don’t think I’ll be daydreaming about being in another world for the time being. Dying and dying all over again doesn’t seem too appealing to me.
Note: This is one of my handwritten review that I submitted last Nov. 18, 2020 to Aniradio+ for my anime reviewer application. Unfortunately out of a rough estimate of 2,400 applicants, I am not one of the 20 who were chosen.

BREAKING NEWS (Fact): Haikyuu!! has been listed in Jump GIGA's Completed Works Commemoration, which will be out on July 27th along with 'Kimetsu no Yaiba', 'The Promised Neverland' and 'Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs'.
A JUMP GIGA 2020 Summer Volume page scan has been revealed on the unofficial Twitter page of Weekly Shonen JUMP featuring the already-ended manga series 'The Promised Neverland', 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' and 'Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs'. But the ongoing manga series 'Haikyuu!!' has also been listed, yet in the magazine's "Completed Works Commemoration".
Chapter 400 of the series will be released tomorrow (July 3) and both Chapters 401 and 402 with will be released in INCREASED PAGES, aside from Chapter 402 being the possibly final chapter of Volume 45.
Series will also be getting a Lead Color Page followed by another Color Page in the following issues 32 and 33/34, a similar situation to Kimetsu no Yaiba and The Promised Neverland's ending, even if these two manga series ended up also in pure speculation.
It was speculated that the series will end soon as the author are already giving signs about the near-end in his past chapters. However, this leaked page scan has definitely made the speculations more a reality than a rumor.

Finally drew them together and 😆 I’m happy!! Can’t decide which one looks better but I really like the one with all three tails! :)
{ Not good with the expression of flinching/startled on a person’s body/clothes so so sorry it look weird :( }
I know it’s not visible here but she is way taller than Alastor. Aniela (my oc) is 8ft tall, 9ft when she wears heels and believe me, she’s almost always wearing heels. She is also a deer like Alastor but only half a deer (having only the ears and hooves).
(She can change her appearance/height; take off or add on or change completely, which is why her horns aren’t here… and also cause I’m lazy and drawing her horns seemed to much of a hassle so… 😅)
Ship name: RadioAni/AniRadio (couldn’t come up with one because Aniela’s name made it hard until I realized I already made one, my username and was like: oh…! 😅😐)
Will be making a post later where you can see her complete design and know more about her :)

My first male Hazbin OC!!!
His name is Veyron and he’s an Overlord. He was inspired by Satan in Helluva Boss! He’s 10 ft tall and he will get shipped with Aniela, my other OC. I shipped Aniela with Alastor but as many of you can tell, I’ve been doing Radioapple more than anything so.. Veyron came to be. I’ll still be doing Aniradio but not really. Contrary to what you may think, Veyron lives in the Envy ring instead of the Wrath ring. He was raised in the Wrath ring, but moved to Envy (Greed may have been a bit more like “That makes sense,” but there is a reason he lives in the Envy ring instead of Wrath or Greed. Which will be explained in another post cause I’m lazy right now. Lol sorry 😅)
Aniela + Veyron = Vela (ship name)

Cardcaptor Sakura Episode 70 – Sakura to Hontou no Omoi ( Sakura and her true feelings) episode review
Have you ever watched an anime as a little child and dreamed of being the main character? Did you ever imitate the way they dressed, talked and behaved? Well, I did! As a little girl and even now an adult, I did that and it was always, always, always Cardcaptor Sakura! Ah, yes. It was the dream of every girl of my age. And though it embarrasses me a little bit, even now as I am reaching my very late twenties, I am still a very huge fan! Not only particularly Sakura, but other Mahou Shoujo themed anime as well. What is that anyway? To give you a short background, it is an anime revolving magical girls. That’s actually the translation itself. Another popular magical girl anime would include Sailor Moon, Akazukin Cha-Cha, Saint Tail, just to name some. Sadly, I don’t think I can name more that are contemporary since I have so much anime to watch that I hardly have time to search new magical girl themed ones. Or do they even make one anymore? But the good thing here is that this type of anime isn’t so often shown that when they make them, it lasts!
Going back to the main focus, I’d like to talk about Cardcaptor Sakura. As we all know, it has been more than a decade since it was last shown. That is why there is a gap between me and my fellow magical girl enthusiasts, and the timeline of being a fan. They stopped long time ago and now they started up on the story again! To give a recap, Sakura Kinomoto, the protagonist is a middle schooler who stumbled upon a magical book containing magical cards in her dad’s library. She unlocks it and scatters the Clow cards all over the city and awakens the guardian creature of the book, Keroberus or Kero for short. The whole plot goes around to her and her friends trying to retrieve the cards. Then eventually, having to turn the cards into her own. The cards and the book belonged to a magician from the past, Clow Reed. He also happened to create these cards and the guardians as well.
Now before I spoil even more so than I already have, I would like to take note that the following statements may contain more spoilers and that my opinions are my own, not representing any entity, organization or whatsoever with which I am or ever to be affiliated with.
Now we can recall from the previous episode before this, Eriol Hiiragizawa is conducting the final test for Sakura. She had to turn all the Clow cards into Sakura cards. With the help of Yue, Kero and Shaoran, things went smoothly and Shaoran even manages to finally confess his feelings for Sakura! Now in the last episode, Clow Reed has already revealed the reason for his return to the present time, reincarnated as Eriol. He had a mission to help Sakura be the new master of the cards. And why he hid these facts were because if Sakura knew everything, then she would not be able to perform to the best of her ability. For me, this has become a minor highlight because of the other stuff that happened in the episode. The facts are out in the open. Eriol will be moving to England, but they could still write letters to communicate with each other. Now for the bigger highlight is that finally, as mentioned above, Shaoran manages to tell Sakura about how he feels for her! Many episodes previously showed that Shaoran was falling in love with Sakura. He just couldn’t find the right moment to confess to her. As Sakura finds out about his feelings, there are awkward moments especially at school but they had important things to do so they end up not focusing on this yet. (This was the time they went to Eriol’s house and that’s when Eriol explained everything then.) Later on, Shaoran receives a call from his mother, asking him to go home to Hong Kong since all the Clow cards have been caught and converted into Sakura cards, thus there was no need for him to stay in Japan. Shaoran then talks to Sakura but not about this, throwing Sakura’s heart in a more confused state. He says how thankful and inspiring Sakura has been but cuts off and leaves her. He plans to go home without telling her nor waiting for her response to his confession. As Sakura went home, she pondered about how she felt for Shaoran and even noticed that it was different from her own feelings for Yukito. Even Eriol is aware and claims he did not foresee this. He initially expected Sakura and Yukito ending up together! But it seems that Shaoran and Sakura’s love prevails! (Well, not yet at this point.) Later on, she finds out from Tomoyo, that Shaoran was leaving for Hong Kong without saying good bye. It upsets her greatly and creates the Nameless card. In the airport, as Shaoran gets ready to leave, Sakura arrives in time to take a few moments to talk to Shaoran. Sakura asks for Shaoran’s bear to be hers for a while as he will be away in Hong Kong. The tale behind is that if you give a bear to someone, that person will love you forever. It was customary to give it to each other so you can be together forever. The episode ends in that way that it was almost unsatisfying. It was almost not an ending at all! But the musical touch of playing the third and final opening song, “Platinum” by Maaya Sakamoto was really great. That’s another great thing about this anime, all their opening and ending songs are catchy and beautiful. I still know the lyrics to this day even! Personally, my favorite are the first two opening songs but this song has a mellow feel to it. Another trivia is that the same voice actress/singer, Maaya Sakamoto sang the opening song for the Clear card arc!
More trivia: The Nameless card is an original card and is not found in the manga at all. If you are interested to know more about this and the other cards that will relate to it, you can watch it from the two movies, Cardcaptor Sakura the movie and the second one, The sealed card. Partly because for me, I think the second movie serves as the actual ending for the series. However, it is different from the prologue episode. The prologue episode is a special episode before the new arc, Clear card. The story focused on how the new series of Cardcaptor Sakura was about to start.
Things were a little different in the Prologue episode and you can compare the endings! Some differences were that Shaoran was a bit more confronting and tells Sakura that he was to leave for Hong Kong. And that Sakura made a pink bear in exchange for Shaoran’s gray bear. They also said their goodbyes not in the airport, but rather at the bus stop. Not exactly finale-like but I think it is nice for comparison. The second movie too is good for comparison because it ends in the way most would’ve anticipated that time - Sakura also confesses to Shaoran’s love! It also takes place a year after the last episode. I think this is the reason why the last episode seems unfulfilling in terms of her relationship with Shaoran. It was because they wanted to make it really end in the movie!
Overall, I think it is a fair ending for the series but lacked impact. But the movie itself would fill the shoes for that. The anime itself is great and I think having different endings to the anime is a plus because fans can pick out their personal favorites.
The last episode does not stop me from daydreaming of becoming a magical girl. Oh well, I have to go and catch some cards!

Naruto Shippuden Season 17 episode 373 – Dainanahan, Shuketsu! (Team seven assemble!) - Episode review
Naruto fans everywhere are surely in for another treat from this episode. Because team seven is finally back together! We can recall from the previous episode that big surprises for everyone were in order. The hokage joins the battle against the Ten-tailed beast. As of that moment, this was the main priority and not Madara. Then, Sasuke, along with Jugo arrives in the scene and everyone is shocked. Even more so as he announces his new goal: To be the Hokage! Sasuke prepares for battle alongside the allied Shinobi forces and Konoha. What an epic reunion!
If you are like me, who follows the story of Naruto, the young ninja boy who went after his wayward friend and rival, Sasuke, this is something to be really anticipated! Many years during the run of the whole Naruto series revolved around this story and it seems like it is finally coming to fruition. (This is apart from Naruto’s dream to be a Hokage.)
I will now proceed to give more details and possibly spoilers with regards to this episode and even the later episodes. All views that are expressed here are all my own and do not represent opinions of any entity, organization, whatsoever with which I have been, am now or will be affiliated.
Now, as I have said earlier, many surprises were revealed on the previous episodes which made this arc particularly exciting. We are coming to the near end of the anime after all. Which meant the fight scenes are bound to be exciting and worth the wait. Naruto is partly an action-themed Anime after all. Which made it one of the top popular anime of its time. The development of the story from comedy, drama, and action never failed. Even more so for this episode. On the said episode, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are united to take a stand against Madara and his forces. It is only right that the team seven will be the ones to personally take down the main antagonist of the anime. All the ninja history of this anime is pointing to him. (Later on, though, there will be a bigger antagonist but that’s not what we’ll be focusing on right now.) What I am talking about is the hype on the team being reunited. Another satisfying point here is one of the main team’s individual character growth. For instance, Sakura’s highlight. Many people may debate over her being in the team in terms of power and usefulness. A lot of people like her, but a lot of people happen to dislike her too. More often than not is because of her personality and that many do deem her as “useless.” But in this episode, that is evidently not the case. As the new team seven battles the multiplied nine tail beasts, Sakura was highlighted as she flashed back to the past with regards to trying her best to be as strong as her team mates. From her Chuunin exams and training with the fifth Hokage Tsunade regarding medical ninjutsu, it is evident that Sakura really has grown. It is a given that both Naruto and Sasuke are the main rivals and that they are the main characters but it just goes to show that Masashi Kishimoto really has plans for her character development. From being the protected “weak” girl, here comes the student of the fifth Hokage, ready to show everyone what she learned from years of hard training, missions and battles. Yes, even in the beginning of Shippuden, her great physical strength and wide knowledge of medical ninjutsu was already shown even. It massively contradicts the” uselessness” other people claim. All her life, wanting to be in line with her team mates, and being the one to help them instead of being the damsel in distress is finally coming true. As the battle ensues, Sakura finds herself ready for one of the most powerful medical ninjutsu that only fewcould do – The one hundred healing mark or also known as the strength of a hundred seal. Apparently, Sakura has unlocked this ability too! Shizune, Tsunade’s assistant, even claims that she could not achieve the said ninjutsu! What’s even more great is how Hashirama acknowledged Sakura’s strength as she unlocked this and he witnessed it too. He even said that Sakura’s strength might have surpassed Tsunade’s! And that’s coming from Tsunade’s own grandfather! This technique really is something. It’s actually a jutsu that is known to be the pinnacle of chakra control and passed down to only those capable of it. According to Shizune, it takes years to completely fill the right amount of chakra and great control to do it at the same time. It’s a technique that creates a rhombus-shaped seal usually on the forehead as chakra is stored over a long time. Once the seal is ready, the user can perform techniques without wasting any energy. That is, if you can master the control for it. In later episodes, she’ll even use the said technique to summon Katsuyu to assist in her healing of all the other people of the allied shinobi forces remotely. That’s how impressive it was. Yes, it was Sakura’s time to shine this time. Sakura became as confident as her mentor. A little bit cheeky even, to say that she didn’t need to use her medical ninjutsu in keeping a youthful appearance, as opposed to what Tsunade does. She later even jokes to both the surprised Naruto and Sasuke that she might snatch the hokage’s title. You go girl!
Some minor highlights are that other teams from Konoha were fired up in seeing the new and stronger team seven. It seems that even Sai has taken notice of this and felt that he too is actually part of team seven. He tried to attack one of the beast’s clones but failed in doing so but still was helped by Naruto. The episode ends in a really interesting punch as the team seven used the summoning technique, mirroring the great legendary sannin. It seems as if they were the new generation sannin! It’s to be expected that there will be more action in the next episode because they literally ended in such a manner. It was a cliffhanger and would make you want to watch the next episode immediately. Overall, I think it was satisfying to see team seven united once again and ready to kick butt. I think the inclusion of Sakura’s growth was also a nice touch because she is actually one of my favorite characters in the whole series. It was a nice touch of feminism and girl power coming from a Shonen anime.
Note: This is one of my handwritten review that I submitted last Nov. 18, 2020 to Aniradio+ for my anime reviewer application. Unfortunately out of a rough estimate of 2,400 applicants, I am not one of the 20 who were chosen.
