sheesh my perspective has been clouded by how yappy people have been about weird plot twists and immature self righteous fanfic morality over the years but like

in hindsight

naruto was SO FUCKING VALID

it still holds up so well holy shit

and I can get so much more enjoyment from the more subtle characterizations now than I did as a kid I don’t remember so much of the stuff being so deep and layered when I first read them

I guess it’s also because the time has reduced my memory of the plot to dry bullet points of events so I’ve never had the opportunuty to reasses all the nuance

#the damn sequel tho #I mean it gave some good like sarada and mitsuki #I liked kagura too before he was cruelly ripped away too soon #but I will never ever forgive it for separating naruto and kurama .I would've actually prefered if they died together #it's also just fucking weird and nonsense and invalidating by the fly of author's pants #anime tries to polish a turd but ehhhh #I think I might actually prefer anime only parts if only they weren't constantly undercut by getting dragged back to manga's bullshit plot
