i would like to invoke the sacred right of birthday trivia!!! Do you have any interesting trivia on Anhelo, the Painter or Eldraine? (Eldraine is by far my fave plane and i'm so happy we're going back!!!!)

Eldraine was originally going to be called Ardenvale. It had to change, but we kept the name for the white kingdom.

Painted myself onto my commander from Magic The Gathering. the Original is “Anhelo, The Painter” by Aurore Folny, what an incredible piece. I love playing this guy in our EDH games. References and the Original at the bottom of the post. This was so fun to make.

“Lord Xander!”

Anhelo sprinted towards the demonlord-shaped hole in the pavement, and dragged the crime boss out of the crater. The mortally wounded vampire demon coughed up ichor onto his torn suit, and seized Anhelo’s collar before speaking in a haggard voice.

“Anhelo…the time has come for you to take over, as head of the Maestros.”

“But sir!” Anhelo protested, “I’m an assassin…and a painter…and a secretary- But, look, sir, I’m no leader!”

Xander weakly waved a dismissive claw. “You’ll do fine. Speaking…of which…Do you still have that list?”

Anhelo frowned, and pulled a scrap of paper from his coat pocket. “The one you had me compile over the last few weeks. A hit list, specifying names and how to kill them. Yes sir, I do.”

“Good man…good man…” Xander clutched his gut in pain. “But, yes. Add that blasted Ob Nixilis to the roster, and put him down for a good old-fashioned beheading. That is a list of everyone who I know has worked under the Adversary. My final order to you is, kill everyone on that list, according to the specifications I requested.”

Anhelo’s frown deepened. “Sir, I must protest…or at least, I must protest to how I’m supposed to kill these people. Some of these methods are simply ridiculous. I mean, this man…” he grumbled, as he pointed to a name on the paper, “you want me to kill him in public, while he’s getting a massage? And…this man. Are you quite certain it has to be while he’s in an elevator, and are you sure to has to be with a…Sir, what even is a ‘shot-gun’?”

“Ask Elspeth…” Xander wheezed. “She’ll fill you in on all the…details. Just cross those names off the list. That’s an…order…”

Lord Xander breathed his last. Anhelo lifted his body up in his arms, carrying him towards the coroner’s office while grumbling under his breath.

“I’ll do what I can…”

Xander’s successor begrudgingly lifted the list so he could read it while laden with the body of his former boss’s.

“First name here is, Altonio, who you wanted me to…grrrr…trap in a revolving door. ‘Easy.’”

[I scanned the New Capenna card gallery, but I don’t think there were any cards referencing the baptism scene from The Godfather. Color me surprised!]

So, I just had to draw that one scene in the Streets of New Capenna story. And then I figured I can put it in my deck as well, bc why tf not.

I love drawing things for my core target audience (me).

A bit late with the news once again, since I was away playing Magic at my local card store all day, (I created 39 2/2 zombies with Army of the Damned in one game, and domed all my opponents for 30 with Crackle With Power in another. Anhelo the Painter is very fun!) but we got a little bit of Splatoon 3 news today, courtesy of the official twitter! It primarily concerns the new banner and titles that was first shown off in the turf wars gameplay trailer.

This confirms a couple of things, like the fact that you get to compose your own title based on different incomplete ones that fit together, and that you can unlock more customization options as you play. All of this immediately brings my mind to the Guild Cards from the Monster Hunter series, which works very similarly. Additionally, I wouldn’t be surprised if unlocking these might be tied to the new medal system in some way?

As an aside, the octoling in the image above is wearing some brand-new gear!

More specifically, it’s a pair of lensless glasses, made by Toni Kensa from the looks of that logo. They’re certainly interesting, I’ll say that much. Kinda flashy, but also weirdly low-key at the same time? At least to me, might be an alternative for people who like the Fake Contacts and want other alternatives that don’t mess with the hair or the face very much.

On the topic of fashion:

We’ve got a new clothing brand! I’ve seen a lot of people speculate this might mean we’re getting new abilities, something I’m gonna hesitate to speculate too much on right now because I just don’t think there’s anything to go on, they could very well be retiring some old brands as well for all we know.

That said, summer is slowly but surely creeping closer, and while there’s no E3 this year, I would be very surprised if Nintendo don’t have a Direct planned for some time in the next two to five weeks or so. Whenever it happens next, I’m certain we’ll get some more concrete details about Splatoon 3. In the meantime, tidbits like this will have to do.
