oc fact swap - Angharad Brosca is a coffee addict, resulting in coffee becoming trendy in Ferelden!
ooooh that’s a real Influencer(tm) ✨
Having introduced herself so many time as “ Just Gigi :)”, I’m not sure Ferelden knows what her real name is, and there is always some sort of floating moment when she’s referenced by her full name !

Best style:

Best comebacks:
Sontaire (there’s a lot she can endure, but everyone has a snapping point, and she’ll go straight for the jugular if pushed far enough)
Celes (has a mind that works a million miles an hour, and can retaliate with alarming speed)
Angharad (much of what comes from her mouth is downright venomous; and justified in her mind by the belief that honesty can replace kindness)

A O R S for your OCs?
Aaaaaaah, I posted this ask meme, and then I completely forgot to answer the one ask that I got! Sorry this is so late!
A: is the most attractive.
That's hard for me to judge, but Imogen Hawke is probably the most conventionally attractive. She certainly has the most admirers. (Check out @needlesslycryptic's lovely portrait of Imogen here)
O: has the most OCs of their own.
My first thought was Edda since she's the most obvious storyteller, but she mostly recounts history, legends, and folklore that she learns from other people rather than inventing stories of her own. But Tia Brosca writes fanfiction with self-insert OCs, so it has to be her!
R: feels the most detached from reality.
Definitely Edda Wintertongue. Or maybe she's more in denial of reality? Either way, she has trouble believing half of what she's seen, and she hasn't figured out how to connect with, understand, and accept everything that's happening to and around her. It feels more like a dream, and she keeps hoping she'll wake up safe at home.
S: has the strongest spirit.
I'm honestly not sure how to answer this one, because the definition of a strong spirit is such a...nebulous concept to me? Tia might be the most determined, but Zelrian Lavellan is the most self-possessed and commanding. Angharad Leatherfoot is the most independent and willing to stand up for what she believes, but Imogen is the bravest and most decisive. So take your pick, depending on what you think it means to have a strong spirit.

Reasons to Vote for My Boy, Angharad Brosca
Is it not enough, I ask, for a dwarf to be gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide? For that dwarf to be, at five feet even, in fact the Tallest Dwarf? For that tall twunk to have luscious auburn curls that he takes pride in, even growing up in such dire poverty that selling your teeth and hair is normal?
In a discussion of the worst things your OC did, Angharad's greatest sin was having a racist arrested to frighten her.
He met his future husband by having a knife fight and convincing him to change sides while homoerotically straddling him.
Due to his deep love of 'anywhere that isn't a cave', this man will see a plant and eat it without even asking. He has had poison ivy removed from his actual mouth. People play a game with him called 'Will the dwarf eat it?'
The dwarf will eat it.
He has deep anxiety about permitting himself luxuries, but makes an exception for coffee because having ADHD in high fantasy can be rough. Everyone who knows him is terrified that he drinks coffee to calm down.
Testimonials:
"Gayer than you" - @knightofcrows
"Great if you're into being gently topped by a side of beef" - @aubergion
"That's gay" - irl friend I showed art of him to

My OC as a Companion: Angharad
Tumblr media
Template made by@boom-crunch3r tagged by @wild-houseplant <333
Warden’s Name: Angharad Brosca
Race / Class / Specialization: Dwarf/Rogue/Carta Enforcer (custom spec, bearing resemblance to the Legionnaire Scout and Berseker specializations)
Pronouns: He/him
Introduction: A casteless dwarf from Dust Town, Angharad was a lifelong Carta lackey. When his exploits with the Carta led to him being exposed interfering with a Proving, he seemed to have no way out-- except that his sister's child with Prince Bhelen Aeducan made him too valuable to simply kill. He's a prisoner of the Carta, their leverage on Prince Bhelen.
Recruitment: During the quest to defeat Jarvia, the Warden discovers Angharad in the Carta's prison. He asks to assist them and take his revenge on Jarvia. Once Jarvia is dead, he expresses an intent to flee to the surface, and the Warden can offer for him to join the party instead of fleeing alone.
Where can they be found in camp? A small distance from Bodahn's cart, usually stargazing.
Companion Quest: At 25 approval:
Angharad: I heard that one of these treaty... things is with the elves. 1: Yes, that's true. 2: 'The' elves? Can you be more specific? 3: What interest do you have in elves?
Angharad: My father's... best friend was an elf. I'm named after him. Soon after I was born, they say my father left for the surface with him. 1: What was an elf doing in Orzammar? 2: When you say 'best friend'... (-1 approval) 3: Your father is on the surface? 4: I thought dwarves hated to go to the surface.
Angharad: Everyone always told me they were lovers, but it might just be a joke at my father's expense. I know it seems silly, but when visiting the elves, do you think I could ask about my father? Perhaps they've heard of him. 1: Of course you can. (+3 approval) 2: I suppose there can't be many dwarves and elves wandering around together. 3: [Mahariel only] I don't think a Dalish elf would go to Orzammar. 4: You're right, that is silly.
When you go to the Dalish camp in the Brecilian, speak to Lanaya.
dialogue option: My friend was wondering if you knew an elf named Angharad. (+3 approval)
Lanaya: An elf named Angharad? I've heard the name once or twice. 1: He spent time in Orzammar. 2: I hear he's a real charmer. (-1 approval) 3: Do you know anything about elves going to Orzammar?
Lanaya: Orzammar? I've heard that some flee there to escape Chantry oppression, but no elf named Angharad that I've ever heard of.
Angharad: Thank you anyway.
Lanaya: May I ask you a question in turn? I did not know that dwarves wore vallaslin of their own.
Angharad: Vallaslin?
Lanaya: That is our word for them. We wear these markings to show our Dalish pride and devotion to our gods.
Angharad: We call ours brands. They show that I am nothing to the Ancestors.
Lanaya: I am truly sorry.
Conversation trigger the next time you talk to Angharad
Angharad: I owe you an apology for wasting your time. 1: There's no need for that. (+2 approval) 2: What do you mean, wasting my time? 3: You could never be a waste of time. (flirt, +5 approval) 4: That took you long enough. (-2 approval)
Angharad: I shouldn't have dragged you into this foolish quest for my father. 1: I believe that you can find your father. (+1 approval) 2: Do you really want to find your father? 3: Didn't he leave you as a baby? Why would you want to find him? (+1 approval) 4: You're right, it is foolish.
Angharad: Did you meet my mother when you were in Orzammar? I always dreamed of what my life could have been like if my father had only taken me with him. Away from Dust Town, away from the Carta, and most of all away from her. 1: So you want answers? 2: You're right, he can't be as bad as your mother. 3: You're away from all of that now. 4: But he didn't take you.
Angharad: Maybe. I think most of all I want to know if he's happy. 1: That isn't your problem. 2: Happy with his boyfriend? 3: I'll help you find answers. 4: For all you know, he's dead now.
Angharad: I don't want to burden you with my stupidity. 1: It's not stupid. 2: That's what friends do. (+3 approval) 3: Maybe I like your stupidity. (flirt) 4: You can pay me back later.
Angharad: Um. Then I like your stupidity too? 1: I hope that's not the only thing you like about me. 2: That's... sweet. 3: Maybe we should be stupid together, then. (locks in romance)
The quest marker changes to suggest you might be able to find clues among the city elves. After completing Unrest in the Alienage, if Valendrian (or Cyrion) is alive, a dialogue option opens up.
Do you know anything of an elf named Angharad?
Valendrian: Angharad? I've heard the name before. 1: He would have been to Orzammar in the past. 2: Of course you've heard the name, he's one of my companions.
Valendrian: Ah, yes, but he's... Actually, I believe I know an Angharad who deals with the Carta. Last I heard, he was in Orlais travelling with another dwarf.
Option opens up when talking with Angharad: Your father may be in Orlais. (approval +5)
Angharad: (if softened) Then I guess I'll go to Orlais when this is all over. 1: I'll go with you. 2: Actually, I had other plans for us. 3: Are you still sure you want to find your father?
Angharad: No. I owe it to myself to try after being too much of a coward all my life to come to the surface and find him, though. Can I ask... Did you hear if he and my namesake were lovers? 1: No, Valendrian didn't say. 2: Would it matter?
Angharad: It did to my mother. Never mind. I know the truth about myself, whether it makes me like my father or not. Thank you for finding him.
Can your warden be hardened? Yep! Angharad will be hardened no matter what if you convince him not to look for his father because it's stupid or hopeless. If you keep looking for his father, or convince him not to look for his father because he deserves better, then if you complete Unrest in the Alienage without accepting Caladrius's ritual, a dialogue will trigger. after all that I'm not writing another dialogue lol, but he starts by mentioning that some of the elves were still taken into slavery. You can either convince him that you still accomplished good and that there is hope, successfully softening him, or say that you failed, hardening him. He will be hardened if you accept Caladrius' ritual. It is impossible to harden and romance him.
Gain approval by: Expressing general hope, being kind to children, showing mercy, being a smartass to people in power. notable approval points: letting Jowan go, giving money to the alienage orphans, helping Dagna go to the Circle
Gain disapproval by: Cynicism, intimidating your companions, refusing to help people, pro-authority decisions. notable disapproval points: telling Zerlinda to abandon her baby, insulting the Grand Oak, crowning Alistair or taking the crown yourself
What gifts would your Warden appreciate? Fruits, flowers, and hairpins.
Feast Day gift? (Gain +100 Approval) The Dasher's Men, by Varric Tethras. The author's first book, and his only featuring a dwarven lead, it tells the story of two casteless brothers torn apart during a feud between two Carta clans.
Feast Day prank? (Gain -100 Disapproval) The Noladar Anthology of Dwarven Poetry
Can your Warden be romanced? Yes, male-exclusive. Female Wardens have flirt options, but at a certain point he will stop them and apologize for not being interested. If she suggests that this is because he's not interested in women, he becomes evasive, and approval is lost unless he is assured. If assured, he approves +10.
Male Wardens after the romance confirmation and kiss/potential sex would hear an awkward admission that he'd never allowed himself those feelings before, and an early option to admit love. There are options to admit love or commitment frequently, up to the epilogue, but if none are taken and the Warden is alive then he will not get the romanced epilogue slide.
Would they be interested in sex? Definitely, and if the Warden refuses it he will ask eventually. There are options to refuse because the Warden would rather wait or is just not interested in sex. Regardless, he just asks to be reassured that regardless of it it happens, he is allowed to want sex. Refusal to give that assurance causes a large approval loss but no breakup.
Is there a gift your warden will give to their partner?
How do they react if another companion is being romanced? He assumes he's been dumped. If you convince him you want to date both, after a few rounds of assurance he says he's all right with that if the other person is as well. If you offer to break up with the other person, he is confused, and has a massive approval gain if you go through with it. If you try to actually break up with him, he cuts you off and says there's no need and he doesn't want to talk about it.
What companions do they…Like the most? Alistair, Leliana, Zevran
Flirt with? He eventually starts returning Zevran's flirting, after a lot of banters where he nervously giggles
Just get along? Wynne, Sten, Oghren, Morrigan
Start a rivalry with? Shale! He resents Shale as a symbol of the evils of the Anvil and for volunteering for what would have been forced on him
Does Shale have a name for them? The Short Dwarf, Small One, Itty-Bitty Dwarfy, etc. All to annoy him for his resentment!
What’s your warden’s opinion on handling the Blight? He cares about it from a place of fearing that the threat of the darkspawn could make Ferelden as, in his eyes, awful as Orzammar.
What allies does your warden wish to seek aid from? (Would they rather preserve the mages in the tower to gain their assistance? Would they rather assist Harrowmont to get the support of the Dwarves? Etc.) Redcliffe: Approves of getting help from the Circle, disapproves of killing Connor
Mage Tower: Approves of saving the mages, disapproves of Annulment
Orzammar: Approves of crowning Bhelen, disapproves of crowning Harrowmont (actively questions what this means for Rica, persuasion check available to mitigate)
Brecilian: Approves of ending the curse, disapproves of killing either the werewolves or Dalish
Is there anything that would make your warden turn on the party? If the Warden attempts to preserve the Anvil, Angharad will turn and fight to the death attempting to destroy it.
What do they do following the Blight (if they had an Epilogue Card what would it say)?
Hardened, Warden lived: After the Blight, Angharad began working for the dwarven Merchant's Guild, guiding these surface dwarves on expeditions through the Deep Roads. He quickly grew rich on this perilous work. [if Harrowmont is king] With his riches, he had his sister and nephew brought to the surface to join him. However, he quickly grew bored of being rich and famous, and
Hardened, Warden dead: In the aftermath of the Blight, Angharad chose to join the Grey Wardens. He enjoys a successful career at Vigil's Keep, and is widely expected to become Warden-Commander someday. Every new recruit to the Wardens hears his tales of when he travelled with the Hero of Ferelden, and how their sacrifice is asked of every Grey Warden.
Softened, unromanced: [Angharad travelled to Orlais after the Blight, where after several adventures, he did reunite with his father. He travelled with his father and step-father for a time, then parted ways on good terms.] On a journey through the Frostbacks, Angharad encountered an Avvar clan. Fascinated by the history they shared with the dwarves, he stayed for several months, becoming a devotee of their goddess the Lady of the Skies. Since leaving the Avvar, he took up arms as a friend of Red Jenny, an ally to all the downtrodden of Thedas, and a beacon of hope wherever he goes.
Softened, romanced, Warden lived: Angharad refused to leave his beloved's side. In time, he and the Warden were married in a quiet ceremony, attended by only their closest friends. Wherever they both go, all pay their respects to the Hero of Ferelden and his husband, known as an ally to all the downtrodden of Thedas, and a beacon of hope wherever he goes.
Softened, romanced, Warden dead: Mourning his beloved, Angharad chose to join the Grey Wardens to honor his memory. He enjoys a successful career at Vigil's Keep, and is widely expected to become Warden-Commander someday. He tells all the new recruits of the man he loved, and how his death was not in vain.
❗️Special Events❗️
Mage Tower: What vision is created to trick your warden while in the fade?
He would be talking with Rica and Leske about how wonderful things are now Rica is a noble and they don't have to work for Beraht anymore.
Haven: What does The Guardian say about your warden before beginning the trial?
"And you, Ser Brosca... do you really believe everything that has happened to you is because you're special? Or do you believe your mother and the Shaperate, and think yourself unworthy of it?"
What is their reaction to finding the Urn of Sacred Ashes?
"I'm really sick of being judged by dead people."
Denerim: Does your warden have any parting words before the final battle with the Darkspawn?
Hardened: "No matter what happens today, at least I won't die in Dust Town. Let's get these bastards."
Softened, unromanced: "No matter what happens, we've done the right thing. Never regret what happens today."
Romanced, in the final party: "Thank you, my love. I promise, I won't let anything take you from me."
Romanced, not in the final party: "Just promise to come back to me, my love."
If they can be spoken to after the battle during the celebration do they mention what they’re going to do next?
If you encouraged him to find his father, he expresses his intention to go to Orlais and offers for you to come with him. If unromanced, he's unsure what he'll do next-- if hardened he expresses a desire for adventure, if softened to experience the beauty of the surface. If romanced, he shyly asks if he can just plan to stay with you.
Awakening: Does your warden return to help at Vigil’s Keep? Or does a letter arrive to the Keep to just check in?
we can pretend you can properly import a dead Warden into Awakening and continue with the Orlesian Warden... if hardened or romanced, he's a companion in Awakening (with two tracks, the one where he's a Warden and the one where he's not). if softened and unromanced, a high-approval Warden receives a letter either detailing his quest to find his father, or about the Jennys.
