How2Draw Anthropomorphic Mice
I swear, I looked all over the internet for how to draw anthropomorphized mice that looked like mice, and not just humans with mouse heads, feet, and tails. I am partial to the types of mice you find in The Rescuers or The Rats of Nimh.
Doodles I did, sorry, I know they're hard to see. Click on the images to see them better. Here are some tips- if you want a more human-like mouse, a shorter torso with longer/thinner arms and legs will get you there. Shorter/thicker limbs and more body is the way to go if you want it more mouselike, not to mention, if you don't put whites of the eyes in you will make it more like a mouse.
Not an anthropomorphic mouse, but I wanted to show how a mouse moves (this is from my head, maybe mice don't move quite like that, but it looks believable, doesn't it?)
Possibly the most useful resource that helped me draw mice that don't just look like humans is this concept art for the Redwall video game by Erin Marantette. Check it out if you are even slightly interested in drawing anthropomorphized mice that actually look like mice.
#how2draw#art tutorial#mouse#anthropomorphic animals#my animation#i know absolutely nothing about animating#mice were a hyperfixation for me for a while#it's so funny how i can't just stick to one style#none of the mice i doodled look like the others#angelina ballerina were my favorite books when i was a kid

Ty for the tag, @an-aspiring-jester !
I actually did this tag game once before but I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it again! Things do change, after all!
Are you named after anyone? Not really, but I guess my parents buying me all the Angelina Ballerina books in existence at the time when I was little because I shared a name with her alludes to this question a little?
When was the last time you cried? I also don't know if this counts, but I almost cried a few days ago when I went to work sick with a cold. I didn't think it was that bad, but I still had a miserable day because of it.
Do you have kids? No, and I remain unsure if I actually want them or not, even though I enjoy working with them as part of my job very much.
What sports do you play/have you played? I also hated PE in school with a fiery passion and remain adamant about not playing sports because of it. I was, however, part of the ice skating and bowling clubs in middle school and I still do those activities on occasion.
Do you use sarcasm? Very rarely, mainly because my autism prevents me from understanding when people are being sarcastic or not. It happens a lot with some of my coworkers, which comes across as very frustrating to me.
What is the first thing you notice about people? Usually their clothes, which helps me to determine what they like and if I can get along with them due to having common interests with them.
What's your eye color? Hazel.
Scary movies or happy endings? I'm a sucker for happy endings, and I blame Disney for making me that way. I do enjoy horror movies, though, so long as they're not overly gory or have terrible cliched plots.
Any talents? I am a classically trained mezzo-soprano who loves to sing! Also, of course, I'm an artist who does both traditional and digital work!
Where were you born? 'Merica!
What are your hobbies? Singing, doing art, theater, listening to music, working out, reading, shopping, being outdoors, sometimes writing and cooking.
Do you have any pets? 5 cats and a dog!
How tall are you? 5'1"
Favorite subject in school? Most likely English. I also really enjoyed art and music.
Dream job? Being an actress and singer in musical theater, or a singer in a band! I just landed a principal role in a local theater production (Jemima in Cats) so I think I'm well on my way!
I'm tagging: @justaboot @hueberryshortcake @strawberryvulture @debdarkpetal @rhapsody-under-pressure @eahravinqueen @ibrithir-was-here @suppenkasparcrazy @glassprism @djinarocks @sensitivestoner @frogs-frogs-and-more-frogs @ms-sharazar @hyzenthlay-rose @ducklooney
15 questions + 15 friends
I was tagged by @incomingalbatross, thank you!
Are you named after anyone? Not really. But according to my parents, they just really liked their coworker's name, and so they made a female version. He was pretty much a random guy to them though, so I don't know if it should be counted as being named after him, more like a bit of inspiration. XD
When was the last time you cried? Probably last week? I cry over random stuff a lot recently. Which is mildly puzzling since I was never a crier before. I guess I'm catching up on some crying quota? XD
Do you have kids? No, and I don't plan to. For now at least.
What sports do you play/have you played? PE was always a nightmare and I was rubbish at every single game. I never liked sports. I guess that badminton and table tennis are kinda fun, I enjoy playing it with friends sometimes (as long as neither party expects a serious match XD), but that's about it.
Do you use sarcasm? Sometimes, mostly jokingly.
What is the first thing you notice about people? I'm terrible at noticing stuff. And remembering faces. XD It's honestly embarrassing how long I have to know someone before I can confidently recognize them in the street. I guess I pay attention to voice, I often identify people based on that.
What's your eye color? Blue.
Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings! Though I also enjoy angst and drama - I basically have no issues with severely traumatizing fictional characters AS LONG AS it gets better in the end.
Any talents? I guess sculpting? General artistic stuff? I'm entirely self-taught.
Where were you born? Poland.
What are your hobbies? Making ooak dolls, modeling, writing, drawing, musical theatre, animation.
Do you have any pets? A cat.
How tall are you? Average, I think?
Favorite subject in school? Polish. I also loved Biology. Math, Chemistry and English (as a foreign language) were fun too.
Dream job? I honestly have no idea. I kinda enjoy teaching but I don't know how I'd handle it full-time.
Tagging (no pressure, only if you want to!): @la-laguna-dei-bei-sogni, @goldiejake11, @koizumi-marichan, @peikonlainen, @maikingsenseofit, @ljf613, @joyfulcreatordestiny, @cityoftheangelllls, @lumiy-a and whoever else hasn't been tagged and wants to participate!

@shoshiwrites really just handed me 'single dad falls in love with his daughter's ballet teacher' and then didn't think I would do anything with it.
He wasn't really sure what you wore to the ballet.
It wasn't really a ballet, at least in the formal sense, just a technical rehearsal for the local company, but for six year olds there really wasn't a difference, so out came a collared shirt and a sweater, and a party dress for the six year old, and the sparkly mary-janes that Annie had bought because 'everyone ought to have a pair.'
Emily had been so happy when they'd learned they were having a daughter - bought the little pink shoes, and the hairbows, and the Angelina Ballerina book even though everyone had reminded her it would be a long time before the baby was old enough for books with sentences. It was a foregone conclusion that Olivia would be signed up for ballet classes when she was old enough - even if Emily wasn't there to bring her when the day finally came.
Your mom would be so much better at this, Dick thought to himself, realizing, with a pang, that Olivia's braids were crooked or her hair tie was falling out or her leotard was on backwards.
He didn't like being bad at things, particularly when being bad meant all the other moms gave him pitying looks and sweet smiles and told him how wonderful it was that he was trying so hard.
(He told Harry and Kitty about this, once - Kitty laughed over her rosé and told him it wasn't just pity.)
They were out in force today, the mothers, all dolled up for thier afternoon mother-daughter dates - and, here he was, in cashmere and khakis, feeling out of place. (And again, the smiles - god save him from the smiles.)
They'd gone to lunch, beforehand, at thier favorite Italian restaurant. Olivia had played at being very grown-up, and had asked for a candle because, she said, very seriously, that 'they were on a date.' The hostess had taken them very seriously and had not only brought the candle but tirumisu for dessert. Dick remembered wiping whipped cream off Emily's nose and tried not to cry.
She was always going to have options. They'd decided that early. She was going to have dolls and trucks and dinosaurs and wear whatever colors she wanted and they would sign her up for soccer and for dance and she could keep whichever one she liked better. And Olivia just kept loving everything. Just like your mom, Dick would think to himself.
"Do you remember what your teacher said about best behavior today?" Dick asked, the flowers in his lap crinkling in their plastic.
Olivia nodded. "She said we should be really quiet, and we shouldn't clap until the very end, when the music ends. And she can't wave to us, but she can meet us afterwards. And we have to sit still through the whole thing, even though she has a solo."
Dick nodded. "You did a very good job of listening to Miss Joan."
Olivia preened, pleased to be good at following rules. (If anyone doubts you're my kid, there it is.) The lights dimmed, and a voice from above reminded everyone to take their seats, and Olivia bounced a few times in her chair before Dick laid a hand on her arm and reminded her that ballerinas were always very good at being still.
Kitty had helped him find the studio - one of the other teachers at her school had a roommate who worked there and had the fives and sixes classes, and was said to be really good. A real ballerina, Olivia had said, on the first day of class, practically skipping out of the studio. "We got to see pictures of her in her tutu and everything!"
A real ballerina, indeed - attached to the local company, teaching classes on the side to make a little extra cash, and more than happy to provide a little outing for her students when it came time for the annual fundraising performance. She was kind like that, Miss Joan. As teachers went he counted himself lucky that Olivia had a nice role model to put up alongside Annie and Kitty and Emily's sisters - women who went out and did things, like Emily did.
The lights went down, and the six year olds quieted, and the music started, and Dick took a deep breath and let his eyes adjust to the darkness. The whole performance was a series of vignettes from different dancers - an ensemble piece from Coppelia, a more modern thing in blacks and blues and moody lighting - and Miss Joan's solo, of course.
Ballet, where the women were always princesses and the dresses always sparkled - at least in the version you gave to six year olds, usually just The Nutcracker and maybe Swan Lake, if you didn't actually tell them the whole story. What is Miss Joan dancing today? Juliet, was the reply. She's from a play by Shakespin - Shookspea - Shakespeare. She has a really pretty blue dress, but she's not a princess so she doesn't get a tiara.
Listen, the tiara was important stuff, when you were six.
But then the music started, and she came out onstage, and he was…overcome.
There wasn't anything particularly sexy about how one showed up to ballet class - just black leotards and leg warmers and slip-on shoes, and a smile that wouldn't quit. But to see her onstage in glitter and gossamer, capering and smiling like a girl at her first party, shy and unaware of her own charm was…something else. And it wasn't just…the line of her leg, or the length of her back, but…something else, something just out of reach. Where's Romeo, Dick wondered. Can we hold him offstage so Juliet never dies?
But then the music ended, and the dream did too, and Dick found himself clapping as loudly as the rest of them, the flowers in his lap falling to the floor. (He remembered where he was, and picked them up again - Miss Joan didn't deserve crushed flowers.)
The girls were a giggling, electric mess after the performance, romping around the lobby trying to do pirouettes they'd never been taught to do and humming along nonsensically to music they couldn't quite remember. Dick stood back from the group of moms and scrolled through his phone, glancing up every now and again to make sure no one had started to climb a chandelier.
The dancing gave way to a circle, which gave way to a game of Red Rover, and finally - finally! the woman of the hour appeared, and the children flocked to her like magnets, bouncing and shouting and all talking at once. Dick hung back, waiting until everyone else had had a turn before calling his daughter's name so she could come and stand by him.
"Did you forget something?" Dick asked, gesturing with the flowers. Olivia clapped her hands and grabbed the bouquet, presenting it to Miss Joan with a flourish.
"Oh, thank you, Olivia. These are lovely."
"Daddy helped me pick them out. He said girls always like roses."
Dick felt himself blush, never wanting to be outside a conversation more - or away from someone's gaze. "Well, he's not wrong," Joan said with a smile that was clearly meant for the both of them. "Thank you for bringing her. I'm sure Saturdays are very busy."
"We went on a date!" Olivia announced proudly.
"Were you going to tell Miss Joan something else?" Dick asked pointedly, feeling himself blush again under the mortifying idea that it had been three years since he'd been on anything resembling a date. Olivia looked at him like he'd asked her to speak in Greek. He mouthed "her dress" in a stage whisper until she realized what he meant.
"I think your dress is really pretty!"
Her smile could have lit up the stage. "I think your dress is really pretty, too, Olivia," she said. "We should take a picture, and your dad can send it to me."
He took several, Joan striking a pose that Olivia could copy, his daughter positively radiant with delight. "Please do send them," she said, reviewing them on his phone. "Let me give you my number."
Her number! You sly dog! He could almost hear Lewis crowing somewhere. Focus, Dick. Focus. She's Olivia's teacher. I'm sure there's something unethical here.

I'm the anon who brought up Angelina Ballerina 👀 I never heard of that other book w/the purse, the only other book that I can remember with a slightly similar essence was Desperaux?? I read that entire book in 2 days when I was 10, WHERE IS THAT AMBITION AT 22 😔 I know it's unrelated but I loved Amber Brown and Junie B Jones! Anything with quirky girl lead had my attention. I think Aristocats is kinda similar? I liked how classy it and Angelina Ballerina seemed lol, wine for the 5 y/o soul
aww desperaux is a great book. stressed me out with all the conflict, but a great book HAHAHAHA. i didn’t read amber brown but JUNIE B JONES YES 👏 I LOVE HER 😭 those books are so funny!
also i feel you on the reading. for the most part i only read like fantasy books for teens now because it’s the only thing that keeps me Interested KLJASDA
random but also the other day i was literally like junie is a really cute name i should steal that...but i could never live up to junie b. 🥺 she’s too cool.
i remember there were concerns from some parents too when i was a kid that kids reading junie b. jones would become too sassy HAHAHA but honestly those books were so great.
aristocats used to be one of my favorites as a kid! i also used to read eloise/eloise in paris which felt similarly poSH for a child (wine for the 5 y/o soul is a great description though lkJALSJF)

yaspup reviews: Angelina Ballerina
Ok so I know what you guys are thinking.. (But yaspup, Why are you reviewin’ a show that’s meant for Little Girls and Babies!) Now the reasons why is… I’m bored and I Do what I want. So with that said, here’s a bit of some history for ya’ll. Angelina Ballerina was based on a Children’s book with the same name. The Author of these Books was by Katharine Holabird and the First book was Published back in 1980’s in London. And so some years later We had the original 2D animated series of Angelina Ballerina was aired for 2000-2006. And then some time later we had the 2009 reboot and… as a Kid and still to this day, I was disappointed and hated the reboot version. So today We’re talking about the Good one. The 2D animated version, so let’s not waist no time!
•PLOT: Now the main plot of the shows- Heck, The series as a whole Is about a mouse named Angelina who gose to ballet lessons with her Friends, Alice and William. And also there will be sometimes where we focus on her home life and such. Now this Show, is a bit of a slice of life/episodic. So the show isn’t really all that much plot heavy but, I would kinda compare it to Maya the bee and the moomins. Cause it’s just a wholesome show. And unlike the 2009 reboot, We get to see actual ballet and or even at the end of some episode, we get to see live action People doing ballet.
•The Time period and character designs: Now for those of you who Know me for a while, you can tell That I have quite a Kick to things that are 2000’s-80’s or even 20’s Aesthetics, And boy let me tell you. Now by the look of the town of Chipping Chadder, and with the technology present. It’s safe to say that this show’s time period is 1920’s if I’m correct. Now I don’t know about you but I love the show’s aesthetic! I love the look of the town, I love the designs, I just love the details when it comes to 2D animation. And with this show it the characters looks more Like mice then the Reboot. And speaking of which…
•The characters: Now with our main Character Angelina. Now with Angelina why yes there were times that she can act like a spoiled brat and why yes she’s a bit Mean to her little Cousin Henry, but with that said, I would say that She’s a Nice and sweet Character who Dreams to someday become a Famous ballerina. And with Angelina, she sure has some Amazing Ballet skills along with her Friend, Alice. And with Alice, she’s the best friend of Angelina. She’s a bit of a Big eater and Nice as well. Now with William, he has a Crush on Angelina and he’s personality is a bit shy when it comes to Angelina (cause, he’s in Love). Now in my opinion, I really like William cause he’s just such a sweetheart sometimes and I wish that William and Angelina would be boyfriend and Girlfriend or something. But at last… Only in my Dreams.. And then we Get to the Twins, The Original, silver spoon and diamond tiara, The two characters that I got inspired to make Dolly and Lucy. Behold One of the most saltiest characters in the Show! The Pinkpaw twins, the world’s most saltiest! Now all jokes aside, the Pinkpaw twins (in my opinion) were the best Bullies for Angelina. Now don’t get me wrong, they are annoying and Quite snobbish. But honestly, I just love how Salty this Girls can Get. Now as for the rest of the characters, they’re a Hit and miss. But I thought that Henry is probably one of the cutest character in the show.
•The conclusion/Final thoughts: Angelina Ballerina Has Great animation and Great character design. It Really capture the feel as in the book. Now I would Recommend this show for A. Little kids. B. Animation enthusiasts/People who likes Victorian era anthro. Or C. People who loves ballet. Now to be honest I wish that the 2d animation show wouldn’t be cancelled but instead Have Angelina as an adult, audition for Ballet and William would confess his love to her and so on so forth n’ stuff. So thank you guys for reading my review on Angelina Ballerina. It was one of my favorite childhood Shows Growing up. And I wish is would of got a lot of love like it did in 2003.
So guys Please tell me what do you think of my Review? Did i do good?bad? Decent? Let me know! And again Thank you for reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15 Questions for 15 Mutuals
Thank you so much to @kittyball23 for tagging me! Love ya! <3
Are you named after anyone?
Not specifically, but on a slightly related note, my parents bought me literally every Angelina Ballerina book and toy in existence because my name was/is Angelina. That franchise was a pretty huge part of my childhood and made me want to become a ballet dancer, but I ended up becoming more of a singer and actress in my adulthood.
2. When was the last time you cried?
A few nights ago I cried because my parents were overwhelming me by nagging me about my future and my boyfriend's future. I also felt overwhelmed about feeling trapped in my house; I love my parents but I want to get out on my own and have my own house. I ended up confiding in a friend and felt better after talking to them and then going back to talk to my parents, and overall I only cried for a few minutes.
3. Do you have kids?
No, and I'm not sure if I want to have them at the moment. I love kids but I feel like it's a little too soon for me to think seriously about having my own.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Oh heck yes. When I was younger I didn't really understand sarcasm all that much, being autistic and all, but now I do and I love using it when the situation calls for it.
5. What sports do you play/have you played?
I am NOT AT ALL a sporty person, I already decided that by PE in elementary school. But I do occasionally do bowling and ice skating for funsies.
6. What's the first thing you notice about other people?
I'm not so sure as I've never really thought about that, but I guess I gotta say their faces.
7. What's your eye color?
Hazel
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
I'm a sucker for happy endings, of course any Disney junkie would be.
9. Any special talents?
I'm an artist, a singer (soprano), and a sewist/cosplayer (I just started)!
10. Where were you born?
USA
11. What are your hobbies?
Singing, doing theater, drawing/making art, sewing, listening to music, shopping, reading, writing, DIY projects, thrifting, going to shows and concerts, working out, bicycle riding, roller skating, hanging with friends, cooking/baking, and wasting time on the Internet (my favorite sites are Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube)! Just to name a few :)
12. Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have a German Shepherd dog and four beautiful kitties!
13. How tall are you?
5'1"
14. Favorite subject in school?
If we're talking elementary thru high school, I gotta say English! I've always loved reading and analyzing stories and I got a lot of respect from my teachers for reading classic novels during independent reading periods!
15. Dream job?
Being a professional singer and actress in theatre!
