wth your ocverse has parallel universe demons? what does that even mean?

Ok well. Let me break down each part,

For the "parallel universe" part-- basically in Love♡Phobia there's the world that the humans live in and the world the non human characters live in. They're like separate realms that are parallel, in the sense they're not supposed to intersect, like two lines that are are completely parallel. There's a buffer of empty(?) space between them. A bridge ends up forming between them for plot reasons but it's not entirely important because the primary focus of the story is on the characters and their interactions with each other.

The "demon part"-- the non human characters... they're not really demons but I call them that for ease of understanding... but also they like kinda are demons lol. The original name of the story was "that human is the devil!" Which, is the premise of the original concept, Humans that are objectively worse than literal demons lol. But over time I kinda lost a lot of the original like. Meat for the story and replaced it with Other Stuff. Hence it's inaccurate to call them demons but the reference material is still incredible strong. I'm still working on the design/writing of the non-human characters to try to make them stand on their own rather than relying on outside sources.

The both the human and non human characters' world has it's own setting and world building but tbh like the bridge thing it's not directly relevant to the plot/setting of the story (in the sense that how much of it is going to be shown in canon is uh. debateable. I'm still writing it so...) outside of like, a layer of context to the way the characters act, so I guess it's more for myself to keep in mind if anything.

But uhmmm anyways they are from a universe that differs from the human characters, and they are technically demons so. "parallel universe demons". :]

I think if I'd have to compare the situation going on, Dorohedoro was a very strong inspiration (that I did not consciously realize occurred until I started writing this post lol but I'm not surprised I love Dorohedoro) -- where there is a realm where humans are from, and then the world of the witches. And the witches are not traditional depictions of witches but still take heavily from the source mythology of witches (brooms, casting magic that transforms people into animals, deals/relations to devils, signing the devil's book, etc. etc.). And the worlds connect :) but there is a big difference which is, in Dorohedoro the connection of the realms is historical while in Love♡Phobia the dimension crossing is recent.

I saw you like well-developed, researched, authentic sapphic historical fiction (such as Carol) and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president in 1945 and her secret interracial sapphic relationship and her bearded marriage with her mlm best friend/biggest foil. It also has a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. an entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!

okay so before i say anything else i need to clarify that i’m only out to my sister and more recently people at my school, and to the majority of my acquaintances there, aka the people at my lunch table, i came out like this:

so my sister is a freshman, and it’s hell trying to find a table so she and her friends sit by me and my friends. cool. fine. it’s all good, right?

and then her friend goes: “god, i feel so sorry for [insert one of my friend’s names here] because her brother is gay” and like, she didn’t mean it in the sense of oh he’s got a crush on a dude i can feel it but more of like this is meant to insult him type of way

and my sister goes, “oh gee i feel sorry for me, too” with some heavy sarcasm, and she gives me this look like oh boy here we go a homophobe

and this girl—i’m gonna call her by her initial, A, for convenience’s sake—suddenly has this confused look on her face and she says, “wait why?”

and like a second after my sister hits me with a Look™, i stand up and look A dead in the eyes and tell her, “because i’m the gay sibling. me. i’m gay”

and A just stares at me with this look of disbelief on her face and goes: “No you’re not!”

slafjsladkfj like!!! i’m cacklign i fucking can’t!! like me and my sister share another look like we’re on the brink of cracking up like i’ve come out one-on-one to close friends before (one friend said: “omg that’s so cool i love gay people and have plenty of gay friends!” followed by an extremely biphobic comment, and another friend said: “really? you don’t seem gay”) but this. this way of coming out? really topped every other way i have come out ohmygod.

and like, right before i’m about to laugh my ass off, i go, “….. i’m dead serious, A… i’m gay. as in. i like girls. that gay.”

and she goes “wait what?” and at that point i stop listening bc my sister is pissed and starts to explain that i am, in fact, Gay

and ofc the rest of my friends turn to me and they’re like “omg you’re gay?” and i go “yeah! i am!” and they’re just like “oh cool!” and that was that. 

to this day, i have not let it go, and every time i see A i make sure she remembers the ever iconic “No you’re not!” like it’s the funniest fucking thing she outright denied my sexuality after i confirmed it like!! it was so funny omg truly a moment i will never forget

For I while actually I would put my tablet/tablet stand in my lap but having to reset it back up and then put down again a few minutes later got waaaay more annoying than just fixing spelling mistakes
