-kill my mind
-don't let it break your heart
-two of us
-we made it
-too young
-always you
-perfect now
-only the brave

Starshine Ch. 57 Jimmy Page Fan Fiction
Carla had been really enjoying her time with Julian. He was crazy in love with her and they had been spending every waking hour together.
They couldn’t get enough of each other’s body. Except for while they were at work. Carla was a veterinarian’s assistant. She loved horses tremendously and dogs as well. She was very loving toward the animals through her work and she was cherished by the vet. He noticed her skill at calming the animals when they were anxious and frightened, by use of her nurturing gentle ways.
Carla also loved horseback riding. The vet kept several of his own horses at his stables at home. He allowed Carla the privilege of coming by any time she pleased and take any horse she wished for a ride out on the trails. He had a few employees, feeding and grooming the horses on a regular basis and they all knew Carla well. Dr. Leary in fact liked having Carla come and exercise the boys and girls. It kept them happy and in good shape. She introduced Julian to the activity
of horse riding. He hadn’t been too crazy about animals in general, but Carla was so enthusiastic, that he was way willing to give it a try. She set him up with one of the boys - Brasswhiskers. Her personal favorite horse was a girl named Shawn. Carla and Shawn were a great match for each other. They were quite in tune and extremely connected. Shawn almost instinctively knew what Carla needed her to do, and so quickly too. It was a smooth ride when the two were a team. Julian tried so hard to get to know Brass, a gorgeous reddish brown stallion. And sure enough, it wasn’t long till they also became a force to be reckoned with. Julian began to love the interaction between himself and the very intelligent horse. And he began to love the wind in his hair and the fresh air streaming through his lungs. This new part of his life really rejuvenated him and his new lovelife with the girl of his dreams had him ablaze with life. Julian had never been happier in his lifetime. And Carla really loved making passionate love to him constantly, with which he couldn’t have loved more. He was just ecstatic in his highly physical and newfound satisfied state. He had never been so in love before. And he just reveled in Carla’s touch.
They had just returned to his place, on their day off, after an exhilarating ride through the trails at Leary’s stables. They each washed up, to get the horsey smell off. Now fresh and clean, Julian had a ruddy look on his face and looked straight out of a commercial for leather boots or such. He was glorious. Blond hair bouncing as he walked. Strong woodsy outdoorsy appearance really suited him. Carla was awestruck by his new rugged persona. And he felt alive. He took her in his manly arms and began kissing her lips with fervor, like a man with a purpose. They were consistently in love mode, and Carla didn’t remember the word no anymore. The answer was yes, yes please. She adored not only Jules, but his talents as well. He lifted her up, bridal style and carried her into his bedroom as though she was light as a feather. He laid her down on his bed and began stripping off his clothes. It was the sexiest view this side of Jupiter.
When the shirt came off, his bulging biceps were a scorching site. The shoulders, my oh my. He was built for hot melting love. The gorgeous flat muscular tummy too, had Carla drooling. Once in his boxers, he lay down gently next to her and began slowly taking her clothes off, and she was tingling with delight, couldn’t wait. He smelled so clean and woodsy and she just craved his delicious body. He was kissing and licking her neck, with his large hands all over her body. Feeling her, caressing her. Carla was giggling and moaning as he touched her in all his favorite places, as he was making sex sounds from deep inside his throat. He massaged her belly and her hips with a firm touch, then lowered himself down low and began licking and nibbling her at her secret private places, which she told him now belonged to him. He couldn’t be more appreciative upon hearing this news. And took it as encouragement to adore and pleasure her as often as he possibly could. He said that he needed to take extra great care of his belongings. He took a lot of time to give Carla the sensations and the explosive tingling jolts of thrill that he felt she deserved. And she was in pure crazy bliss as he did so. And the level of his delight, when he saw her in passionate agony, at her peak, with her throat way back and mouth open in complete joy, throbbing in pleasure, well,…. it made his life worth living. He was extremely talented and driven with his tongue and lips. And could spend hours tasting and manipulating her if she let him. But usually she would say enough, after he had caused her about two or three raging orgasms. She just hoped for energy for the ultimate love making he offered her afterwards. There was no end to his ability, his energy. He could go on and on all night. Carla told him he was the lover of a lifetime. Of which he couldn’t hear often enough. It was a glorious song to his ears. Her moaning was a sound that fueled his fire. That was exactly what he had set as his goal, to become for her. Anything she needed, he wanted to be right there, to provide it for her.
He had been inside her, driving her insane, for quite awhile now, as she clenched onto him, writhing in bliss, beneath him. Finally he hit the end of his rope with a long moan and frantic shuddering. He leaned his head down, forehead against her right shoulder and his juices flooded into Carla. He was saying softly, “Oh my Carla, my love. My love. What you do to me. I’m in paradise in your arms. Holding me tight with your legs around me. It’s unbelievable, my angel.” She was nearly cross eyed by now, dissolved into lava now as a result of reaching her peak at least 5 times since they began. And he still felt it wasn’t enough, but it was all she could take, she insisted. Any more and she told him she was going to fall apart and never be able to function again. At that statement, they both began laughing their heads off and couldn’t stop. He pulled himself away, kissed her many times on her tender mouth. He said he felt peaceful and satisfied to a fault right then. And he jumped in for a fast shower, sticky as hell.

Your Best American Girl | songs for Rory pt. 1
Ten introductory songs, summarizing Rory Moskowitz
honestly i love this challenge so much i’ll probably do 90 of these for every mood in existence...also the songs really don’t go together in hindsight lmao
1. Your Best American Girl (Mitski)- Rory’s blog title and a dope ass song ! I honestly love the song for personal reasons, but I think it really frames Rory; American yes, but also she isn’t your American Girl - gay, steeped in Eastern European Jewish history, raised with a different story, and a different relationship with the country, then the kids around her. On the hill, with All-American Boys and Girls, she can try to masquerade as one of them (and did) but she’s shed that side of her, in favor of something else. Mitski is singing about a boy, but in Rory’s context, it’s her and her country - she can love her country, but will it ever truly love her back?
“You're the sun, you've never seen the night But you hear its song from the morning birds Well I'm not the moon, I'm not even a star “
“Your mother wouldn't approve of how my mother raised me But I do, I think I do And you're an all-American boy I guess I couldn't help trying to be your best American girl”
2. Same Drugs (Chance the Rapper)
Rory and her ex - the dramatic transformation her wife undertook, changing herself, for what? The woman Rory knew, entirely abandoned - working through their former life, former love, and despairing over the woman her ex has chosen to be.
Where did you go? Why would you stay? You must have lost your marbles You always were so forgetful
What did you do to your hair? Where did you go to end up right back here? When did you start to forget how to fly?
3. Windows - Angel Olsen
Won't you open a window sometime? What's so wrong with the light? What's so wrong with the light?
4. If I Could Write (Sam Phillips) - Also Rory and her ex, and also Rory’s interactions tag - when her heart isn’t inflamed by anger or sadness, she can reflect on their relationship, and the aspects of her that are strengthened by it being over. She is also resolute in her emotions - highlighted in certain lines- overall, just a beautiful bittersweet lovesong that captures the love and loss
I took your ring that never comes off and put it on Sorry to lose you, sorry to keep you after you were gone Nothing is small, nothing is unexpected
Desire's the element that I can't fight Dream is the arm of God Girl's looking for themselves in your eyes I'm looking for you
5. (8 Circle) Bon Iver
To walk aside your favor, I'm an Astuary King I would ask you where it came I'll keep in a cave, your comfort and all Unburdened and becoming
6. Lady Lazarus - Sylvia Plath’s recording of her poem. So fucking chilling - encompassing the engrossing, dark aspects of Rory
Herr God, Herr Lucifer Beware Beware. Out of the ash I rise with my red hair And I eat men like air.
7. Fuck with myself (Banks) - Because no one can fuck with Rory, the way she fucks with herself
I used to care about what you think, baby You words burn me in the third degree And baby now look what it's come to 'Cause my love is the one, my love is the one
So I fuck with myself more than anybody else
8. Criminal - Fiona Apple
I've been a bad, bad girl
9. Begging for Thread (Banks)
I got some dirt on my shoes My words can come out as a pistol I'm no good at aiming But I can aim it at you
10. Gimme (Banks) - ** I do love Banks with all my damn heart. Gimme reflects her post-Wright assassination mindset, in the aftermath of Rory’s committing her most foul crime, but gaining the greatest reward of her life. She’s hungry for more - to cement her legacy, and Julian’s. The weight of guilt is easily smothered by adopting a nefarious persona; a heightened version of her diabolical leanings, and tendencies. With Wright gone, only the election stands in the way of Julian achieving all they’ve dreamed of. Julian’s going to win the election, if it kills someone (else).
You can call me that bitch
Gimme, gimme, what I want, what I deserve
if you made it this far - opinions on wind beneath ur wings for rory and julian jajajaj

2. What drew you to rping this character?
What drew me? I’m not entirely sure. I believe it was the sass and the snark originally. I’ve always been drawn to characters like that. Enjoy writing characters like that. But also because of how complex Julian as a character is. How there’s so much more to him than people seem to realise or completely ignore from what I have seen within the fandom. I just love how much there is too Julian and I hope to be able to bring everything I adore and headcanon about him to the table one day!
38. Has a roleplayer ever changed your view on a character? If so, how? Good or bad? For better or for worse?
They have. Some for better. Some for worst. Some roleplayers changed my views of characters. Making me find a love for them that I originally never had as I didn’t really like them at first or never had an interest in them at all!
Though there’s some roeplayers that have changed my view for worst. Mainly on the fandom and not actual characters. I tend to try not let people ruin a character for me but sometimes it’s hard. But, in general these roleplayers have made me cautious of the fandom they’re in or made it that I don’t want to interact with said fandom they’re in. Right now there’s fandoms I’m cautious of and honestly I’m debating going back into them or not some time in the future. We’ll see though as I do miss writing some of my old muses.
59. What/Who is a character you think you would like to roleplay? What’s currently stopping you from roleplaying them?
Well, for one thing. Life is the main reason. I’m rather busy most days. I’m working at Mcdonalds 5 days a well. My shifts tend to be around 8:30am-5pm usually on weekdays and I have to be up as early as 7am at times if I get a bus. about 7:30am if I’m getting a lift. Then I wait for a bus home and because of that I tend to not be home by 6:30pm. Time I shower, get something to eat if I’m hungry and do laundry or some other misc things it can be rather close to 9pm at times and I tend to be in bed by 1am the latest. A Saturday if I work, I tend to do 11am-5pm cause of buses. Morning bus at 10am while home bus is 5:15pm but I don’t have to worry about a lot so I can chill and do laundry and stuff on Sunday.
I’m also in the process of working on a private roleplay group with a friend that we’re slowly working on and wish to launch sometime this year. So when I can I tend to be working on stuff for that sometimes. I also sometimes play video games in my spare time to chill and I’ve been doing that as well recently.
Family is another thing that makes it hard to roleplay. When I’m at my dads I can’t really get on the laptop anyways until after 9pm usually once my twin siblings go to bed and things have been tidied and straightened up. At mums I can lurk on the laptop whenever but I try not to do it all day and like ya know, try and actually spend time with her.
I’m also slowly working on remaking my multi-muse so I can write characters I want to. Some of the characters I’d like to write are Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel, Xion and Axel from Kingdom Hearts, Todomatsu from Osomatsu-san, Kanji from Persona 4, Harley Quinn from DC and Ms Marvel from Marvel. These are just some characters I’d like to write. A lot of the reason I don’t is I’m so busy. Others is I haven’t finished watching or playing the series, not caught up with a series or I don’t know if I want to be associated with said fandom at all.

BEST OF 2016: TOP 10 SONGS
HONORABLE MENTIONS: (in no order) “I Hope My Life” by James Blake, “Those Were the Days” by Angel Olsen, “The Vapours” by Anna Meredith, “I Can’t Give Everything Away” by David Bowie, “Landcruisin’” by A.K. Paul, “N****s” by Kamaiyah, “Josie’s Past” by Xiu Xiu, “Generation Why” by Weyes Blood, “Keep Your Name” by Dirty Projectors
10. “NO WOMAN” by WHITNEY
“I might never be sure”
It isn’t just those falsetto vocals that convey such loneliness, or its effortless orchestration that evokes an early 70′s folk vibe that is inescapably Californian, that moves me every time I listen to this song. I think it has much more to do with its themes of relocation as a kind of rebirth, or even escape- specifically, to Los Angeles. I moved myself across the country- to L.A.- this year, and it has continually felt at once tremendously exciting and kind of selfish. Like our speaker, I might never be sure of whether or not it was the best move. To be quite honest, I’m not at all sure what Julian Ehrlich means when he croons the titular phrase “no woman,” but whatever it is, I feel it.
9. “YOUR BEST AMERICAN GIRL” by MITSKI
“Your mother wouldn’t approve of how my mother raised me, but I do- I think I do.”
Mitski crafts a remarkably succinct expression of the frustration of not feeling American enough, or participating in a relationship with someone you really like without compromising your identity or agency, exemplified by her gorgeous, soft alto voice that works in perfect harmony with the charged distortion of her guitar, evoking a mid 90′s alternative vibe that transcends that genre’s thematic simplicity. A marvel.
8. “BEST TO YOU” by BLOOD ORANGE
“I can’t be the girl you want, but I can be the thing you throw away.”
Dev Hynes’ music is intensely personal- a reflection of his thoughts, beliefs, and experiences that make more sense to him than it ever could to a listener. At the same time, this specificity often makes the music more universal, inviting the listener to see themselves in it. When I listen to “Best to You,” I think of the straight boy that I was madly in love with in high school, who I knew could never reciprocate that to me. “I can’t be the girl you want, but I can be the thing you throw away” was a genuine sentiment of mine. Hynes is so gifted at exemplifying these raw emotions with grooves and rhythms that suggest this sadness or inadequateness is universal.
7. “IT MEANS I LOVE YOU” by JESSY LANZA
“If you want it, come and find my love.”
“It Means I Love You” is nothing short of hypnotic, experimenting with genre and rhythm in fascinating ways that feel like the purest example of what Lanza set out to do with this fabulous record. Kaleidoscopic and disorienting, just like its accompanying video, the collision of beats and Lanza’s almost childlike vocals transcend genre to create something truly exciting; a jubilant dance track that’s downright bizarre.
6. “30 HOURS” by KANYE WEST
“You wasn’t mine though- but I still drove 30 hours to you.”
“30 Hours” is full of contradictions. It sees Kanye at his most reflective, looking back to his long distance relationship with Sumeke Rainey just after he moved to L.A. for his career when he would regularly drive across the country to visit her. It’s almost shocking to hear West speak so candidly about his much more modest beginnings when his recent work, even other parts of this same song, seem to be a celebration of financial excess and a fundamental misunderstanding of the real world. It reassures the listener that Kanye is still Kanye, aware of his humble past and his persona of late, speaking almost fondly of simpler times. But at the same time, “30 Hours” sees Kanye at his most outlandish- taking phone calls mid-song, rambling about Mos Def, and referencing the Madison Square Garden listening party that was meant to have been the album’s premiere, only to have the track listing drastically change at least twice before the album would officially drop. It’s indicative of the many fascinating inconstancies of The Life of Pablo, and the duality of Kanye West; talented, perceptive Chicago kid and crazy, out of touch mega celebrity.
5. "WORK” by RIHANNA
“If you had a twin, I would still choose you”
I think one of my favorite things about “Work” is that I don’t really know what she’s talking about. A close reading of the lyrics reveal a story of creative and professional ambition hindering a romantic relationship, and a rich utilization of Jamaican patois. Rihanna has always embraced the dancehall sounds that shaped her, but here she modernizes it and makes it entirely her own with shocking ease. “Work” is a meticulously constructed master class in pop that feels effortless. There’s a reason we lived our lives to it this past spring and well into the summer (or all year and for the rest of our lives) ; it’s sultry, captivating and joyous.
4. “EXECUTION” by ANOHNI
“It’s an American dream.”
I always dance to “Execution” and wonder if it’s appropriate. Its stellar, infectious beat, underscored by dissonant, droning chords compliment its slyly scathing critique of capital punishment perfectly, but also make for an almost perfect pop dance anthem in its own right. At times, Anohni even sounds like Cher, further contributing to the song’s pop conventionality, at times sounding radio-ready. But then she coos “like the Chinese,” and its immensely clear that this is something decidedly more subversive. It’s a song that you can get entirely swept away with on the dance floor while never forgetting the anger in Anohni’s voice as she pleads for mercy.
3. “CRANES IN THE SKY” by SOLANGE
“I traveled 70 states…”
The beauty of “Cranes in the Sky” is how simultaneously specific and universal it is. I listened to it the weekend my grandmother died. I listened to it again the morning after the election. It speaks to the pervasiveness of sadness, loneliness, grief, or anything else one foolishly tries to chase away before we’re ready to part with it. At the same time, I’m sure Solange had something more specific in mind when writing it. And I’m sure it evokes other feelings in other people who listen to it. Those melancholy strings understand something intrinsic to sadness, but somehow, the song remains jubilant in its promise of self-discovery for both Solange as an artist, and the listener in their everyday life.
2. “FORMATION” by BEYONCÉ
“When he fuck me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster.”
Beyoncé is more committed than ever to formal experimentation, to honoring her identity as a black woman, to being serious, to being funny, and to changing the game. When the video for “Formation” dropped and she hit that chord on “Texas Bama!” I literally gasped, and by the time she got around to “when he fuck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster,” I had to pick myself up off the floor. Beyoncé changes the definition of what a pop song can be with unorthodox chords and song structure, fun, loving and honest lyrics that celebrate the black experience in America and Black Panther imagery. While Lemonade didn’t become quite the straightforward Womanist opus “Formation” suggested it might be (the film is closer to it,) it remains a truly iconic love letter to Blackness.
1. “FUTURA FREE” by FRANK OCEAN
“How far is a lightyear?”
A one of a kind stunner in two acts. Absurd imagery and phrases have never been so moving or slyly funny, and the way that Ocean utilizes them to craft a singular statement on fame and success that sounds something like his version of Janis Ian’s “Stars” is, for lack of a better word, genius. Those gentle piano chords make a stunning contrast to the lyrics (”murder me like Selena,” or “don’t let em’ find Tupaaaaaac!”) and that meticulous distortion (is that “Beyonce” that he keeps repeating?) By the time the first act gives way to an equally bizarre interview conducted by his younger brother Ryan, calling back to the album’s recurring theme of nostalgia, it’s clear there isn’t a better way to close out this wildly ambitious and strange opus of a song and album.

In Cantonese “Sifu” is a title given to a master of a trade, according to Wikipedia. Whether you trust Wikipedia or not, it’s only fitting that Livingston Matthews decided to adopt the name Pink Siifu (yes, double i) as his musical persona. Siifu treads the threshold between conscious-activist rap, and pure love poetry; a guru of cloud rap, weaving through ethereal vocals and experimental jazz. At 25 he recognizes the masters of his craft, designing “something like if N*E*R*D’s Seeing Sounds and The Love Below by André 3000 had an album baby, with a little of Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun” for his next piece of work. It’s a bold statement for the young rapper, but I don’t doubt his dexterity and ability to finesse his way to the top.
I first met Pink Siifu at Back Beat LA, a monthly event that caters to the underground jazz and experimental hip-hop scene in Los Angeles. He slid across the back, skateboard at his side, and asked if he could grab something off the vegetable platter. Unbeknownst to me, he was part of the lineup. He approached the mic and let his raspy vocals and entrancing sing-rap reverberate throughout the Grand Star Jazz Club; a lo-fi dream, sobering and transcending at the same time.
We agreed to meet outside of Space 15 Twenty in Los Angeles for the interview – post Tape Meet LA, where independent labels like Stones Throw, Paxico Records, and Akashik Records gathered for a cassette exhibition. It’s not everyday I get to be among some of my favorite producers and DJs, but I digress. Pink Siifu greeted me with a big grin and arms wide-open before we talked about his move from Birmingham, to Cincinnati, and now LA; the effects of the internet on hip-hop; and his musical odyssey.
Did you already have connections out in LA?
Nah, I knew like a couple of niggas. I started going to shows and parties, and I went to Ringgo’s (Mndsgn) – one of Ringgo’s after parties. This was when him, Zeroh, Low Leaf, and Alima (Jennings) were staying in the same crib. I met Ahwlee there, and I even met Swarvy at Ringgo’s. I met mad niggas at Ringgo’s crib.
Yeah, I moved out here to do that. I moved out here with my ex, just because we fucked with the artists and production out here.
When you were younger did you see yourself moving out here?
Hell nah, I just thought I would go back to Alabama, or Atlanta, or Florida. I still want to go back, but it’s boring as fuck.
The art scene (in Atlanta) is tight. It feels like Brooklyn. Everybody knows everybody. There’s so many different types of art. I went there, and the niggas that threw a gallery show, threw a rap show after. That shit was just tight as fuck. They made early SpaceGhostPurrp type of shit. It was super southern. It was dope.
Do you get the same feeling as you do at home?
It ain’t nothing like LA. LA has no season change. It’s neither hot nor cold. There’s no fall or spring. It’s either summer or a lazy winter. I need fall and spring for my sanity. That shit is weird. That’s the only thing I don’t fuck with.
I feel like Los Angeles is a bubble in that way. Do you agree?
Word. Maybe that’s true. Yeah, actually Cali has a lot of shit going. Cali just stays with Cali. I feel like y’all focus on London and New York. I know a lot of cats that know cats from London and NY. It’s tight. A lot of cats I fuck with are either from Philly or New York, so maybe that’s why.
Is it because of the type of hip-hop prevalent out here? I feel like East coast hip-hop and rap are more conscious, though. What is it about those artists that resonates with you more, as opposed to artists from Los Angeles?
Nah, nah. I fuck with artists from here. I fuck with both. Honestly, New York niggas sound like Atlanta niggas, ‘cause of the internet probably. I miss when I used to go down south and visit my family. Like the south would be playing certain types of music. Before everybody started fucking with Young Jeezy, only Atlanta and Alabama were playing Young Jeezy and Lil Boosie. We’d hear all the new music in the south first.
I fuck with artists from here though. Conscious niggas are definitely in Cali. Zeroh is one of my favorite rappers. Zeroh is from Long Beach; Kendrick from Compton.
I fuck with Brooklyn too, though. There ain’t nothing like a Brooklyn woman. A black Brooklyn woman is just so direct with your ass. I fuck with Brooklyn woman heavy – not even to date – like just admire them. Like a dude will do some shit on the train, and they’ll be like “what the fuck is wrong with you?” That shit is tight. I be on the train and I’m like “Yeah, you shouldn’t fuck with her dog. Laughs. “She ain’t the one dog. Fuck around and get jawed.”
Do you think because you’re from the South your take on music is very unique or do you think you have a blended sound as well?
Blended, definitely, because I was raised in Ohio.
Then what genres do you think your music is a mix of? Hip-hop, obviously, but you definitely have some jazz influence.
It’s crazy, my jazz influence. I’m realizing this more as I grow up. I already knew that my pops used to play the Saxophone, and everyone told me he was a monster. My grandfather, his pops, he wasn’t the best dad but he was an artist, a jazz nigga. They say he was a big reason for the jazz movement in Nigeria. They say he used to play with Charlie Parker.
Hold up, you’re going on tour?
Me and Ahwlee are going on short, short tour. It’s not like these big nigga tours. We’re going to Oakland, Chicago, Brooklyn, and then Pennsylvania. I’m grateful! But I definitely want more dates. I wanted to hit Atlanta.
Did you see yourself going on tour 5 years ago?
Well, kind of. Hold up. He loses his train of thought. Shout out to Shoes for fucking this up. Laughs. Wait, I started doing music in 2011 seriously, but the jazz influence is from my pops and grandfather. Dungeon Family, Badu, Temptations, Jill Scott, Eddie Kendricks – bless his soul. I used to love Frank Sinatra.
Were they your inspiration for twothousandnine?
D’Angelo and Dwele were, sonically. We would listen to a lot of Slum Village, D’Angele, Dwele, and Dilla. We was watching D’Angelo live shows before we recorded some tracks. The title of it was because 2009 was lit. It was lit musically for me. I started listening to N*E*R*D heavy, Kid Cudi, and a lot of other indie rap shit – not just Lil’ Wayne and Outkast. I started listening to Blackstar too.
I told Swarvy we should name it that, and he said it was crazy because that’s when he started making music seriously and getting weird with it. We had the same view on 2009. Shit just started sonically changing for us.
It’s funny you mention Outkast. After the photo shoot, Julian (Essink) and I kept thinking that you remind us of André 3000. Do you get that a lot?
That’s my favorite artist of all time, like how Tyler loves Pharrell. That’s how I feel about André. I feel like he’s guiding a nigga every time I listen to him. The Love Below is the best album. There is no other album, especially rap album, that’s like that.
Is 3 Stacks your ideal end goal as a rapper?
No, because the game fucked him up. I feel like I know him; it’s super weird. The industry fucked him up, like he’s cool with the legacy he left.
Is that disappointing for you?
It’s not disappointing for me, but it’s disappointing for the rest of his fans that don’t get that he already gave us everything. We don’t even realize how good it was. He really doesn’t want to put up with the shit that goes with putting out an album. I support him in everything. As soon as he stopped making music, and started putting out movies. I was like, “Alright, fuck it! That’s my favorite actor now.”
He sounds like your favorite uncle.
Deadass. I love him. He can do whatever. If he puts out shoes I’m gonna buy them. I swear. 3 Stacks is my favorite rapper. Dungeon Family is what I’m trying to make for myself, like Soulquarious. I also love rock shit. I love N*E*R*D.
In terms of rock, do you pull inspiration from your favorite bands? I’m asking mainly, because your music isn’t very mainstream. It’s not what you would typically hear on the radio, especially for a rapper. I feel like I appreciate your music more because of that.
I feel that. Well, with the rock shit I do have a lot of music that’s not out yet that’s inspired a lot by rock. I have a lot of music that niggas won’t expect, mostly because I haven’t put out my own album yet. I’ve got several different styles. I’ve only put out what people have produced for me.
So are you producing your own music?
Yeah, but I kind of don’t like making my own beats. I like working with other musicians. When I write, I’m kind of just like letting it flow.
Is it like stream of consciousness?
It’s mostly conversations I’ve had in my relationships and thoughts that I’ve had; things that have actually happened. Sometimes I make up shit, or I’ll combine different events in my life into one story.
How do you know when you have a finished product?
It’s just a feeling.
When you finish a track do you get overly excited to put it out or do you wait until you have a couple of songs ready, and then pick and choose?
I used to be super excited. When I’m working on an album, I’m never that excited, though. I just want to keep building, making it fire. But like now, I don’t give a fuck. I’m trying to get D’Angelo with it, like put an album out every five years.
I kind of just want to hold it. With BRWN, I was talking to three different women. I first started talking to a girl from Brooklyn, and then we ended. Then I was single and talking to different women, and then I ended up dating a girl for 8 months. After that, I started having a sexual relationship with one of my homegirls until I finished BRWN. I was living through this shit while making the album. It was weird and dope. It’s a woman appreciation album, especially a black woman. There are only female features in it.
There were dope life experiences in that album. That’s how the best albums get made.
When do you think you’re going to release your next album or EP?
Me and Ahwlee are working heavy. I can’t say when we’ll drop some new shit. The next thing I drop will probably be a B. Cool-Aid thing.
Should your listeners expect a similar outcome from you based on your previous work?
You should just watch my Instagram stories. My album is gonna be full of music like that. It’s gonna have the Blues, rap, jazz, rock. I want something like if N*E*R*D Seeing Sounds and The Love Below by André 3000 had an album baby, with a little of Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun. Sprinkle everything in there.
Niggas definitely might not fuck with it, but there are so many things I want to try. If they don’t fuck with that, then they’ll fuck with the next one. I want to be able to have different types of people that enjoy different genres of music at my show.
If there was one artist that you’d want to collaborate with, who would it be?
I’d want to work with Static Major or Dilla. If I had either of their beats on an album, that would be crazy. I would love to get some guitar from Hendrix, too, but only if he was still alive. Also Matt Martians, Homeshake, and that’s about it.

¡NO!

There's...
[Fuente]
