I've figured his facial changes out. They were bothering me too much (yes, I know the models are based off two different people, but I needed to differentiate since that's a video game and I was tired seeing people saying his face didn't change much).
(Rus version under the cut).

And I'm not commenting THAT thing from the teaser. That's just the same as his Pathologic 2 model but with blur and smoothing. PROBABLY the only changes are his hair and eye color (they're darker now). Oh, and his eyebrows look a little bit lighter, yeah. I just think they didn't do a great job with picture's quality in that teaser, that's why he looks so... uhh, off.

18.07.24 - Young Darwin Scholarship Day 4
The bulk of today was devoted to rocky shores. We went to East Prawle where we were going to lay quadrats and collect data on the species present at the various coastal zones but as the data software wasn’t working we just explored. I couldn’t take in much information because my pain has been getting worse, I’ve been getting more and more tired and it’s been harder to think clearly, so this post will mainly just be brief descriptions of some of the things I saw and photographed.
1-2. A male European Green Crab (Carcinus maenas)
3. A lot of different seaweeds. Important information is that they are not plants and some of them, such as red seaweed, parasitise each other which is interesting. I can’t remember which species it is but one of them has bulges that look like air sacks but are in fact filled with reproductive material (I guess semen would be the closest analogue). Others do have air sacks.
4. Some sponges of which I don’t know the species - genetically and evolutionarily the closest relative of humans that can be found in a rock pool.
5. Beaded Anemone (Actinia equina)
6. Snakelocks Anemone (Anemonia viridis)
7. The ornate underside of a Cushion Star (Culcita novaeguineae)
8. Rockpool Shrimp (Palaemon elegans)
9. A Grey Seal (Halichoerus grypus) observed from a distance (getting too close stresses seals significantly). This was an interesting find. We didn’t see seals when we were purposely seeking them out on yesterday’s boat trip but we saw one today and the Grey Seal, with it’s characteristic long snout, is more rare on our coastlines than the Common Seal.
10. An out-of-focus Glow-Worm (Lampyris noctiluca), curiously not a worm but a beetle. There were several in the verges between the beach and field centre after we returned from our final evening campfire. We also detected bats on our bat detectors and saw them flying around, possibly Daubenton’s (Myotis daubentonii) as a population nests by the bridge. We also took one last chance to try and spot otters. At one point in the gloom I saw some large ripples and what appeared to be a dark shape but I don’t know if my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Anemonia Keeps Me Awake
Recollection is the only paradise from which we cannot be turned out. ~~Richter [The Berlew Family Reunion. Orange, PA. September 6, 1926. Photo: Egan Family Archives.] I don’t think it rained that day. There are no clouds in the sky. I should know. I’ve crawled inside this photo more than once over the years. One afternoon, in early September 1926, a photographer from Wilkes-Barre, set up…

One morning, while having breakfast with Sarah, Jade noticed that Sarah was looking quite pale. "Bestie, you feeling good?" she inquired cautiously. "Sure, I'm feeling fine... Just a little lightheaded maybe, but I think that's because these superfood salads aren't really filling me up..." Jade was unconvinced, but she didn't argue. "Could be... I'll make you a sinful serving of pancakes then, hold tight."
Later that day, when he was taking a break from a series of online classes, Marcus found Sarah sitting on the couch, staring a dark tv screen. Curious, he took his tea and sat down next to Sarah. "Hey Sarah, how's it going?" Sarah, seemingly ignoring him, continued to stare at the nothingness of the dark screen. "Earth to Sarah? You in there?" Marcus tried again to get her attention. With a noticeable delay, Sarah turned her head to look at him.
Sarah: "Oh, hey Marcus! How's it going?"
Marcus (squinting a little): "Sarah, you look a little cross-eyed..."
Sarah (surprised): "Oh?"
Marcus (with growing worry): "Are you feeling ok? You're quite pale..."
Sarah (absent): "Yeah yeah, totally fine... Just a little dizzy..." (yawning) "Tired, just a little tired."
Marcus (sighing): "Girl, lie down a little then."
Sarah (blinking her eyes a few times): "Oh, that's a good idea! Yeah, lie down a little."
As Sarah sank sidewards to lie down on the couch, Marcus rose to his feet and headed to knock on the door of the downstairs bathroom, where Jade was trying out some new makeup products she might use for her stylist job. "Jade, there's something wrong with Sarah. I think we should take her to the doctor."
Marcus had barely finished his sentence when Jade stormed out of the bathroom, only one eye made up. It took them a while to wake up Sarah, another sign that she wasn't doing well. Supporting her, they led her to the doctor, who was called in advance by Marcus. Jade tried calling Rayne, but the call went to voicemail immediately, as he was training. When they got back home from the doctor, Jade called again, but she had to leave a message on his voicemail once again. "Rayne, ok, don't panic, we're back from the doctor. Sarah as something called 'pregnancy induced anemonia' or something. She has to take iron tablets, but she's fine. I repeat: SHE'S FINE. And the baby too. THE BABY IS FINE."
Rayne rushed back home from training like he'd never rushed back before. He ran to Sarah, taking her in a tight embrace. "You're ok! Are you ok? I'm so worried! Tell me you're ok!" He had to gasp for air, out of breath because of all the rushing and panicking.
Sarah tightened her own grip in their embrace. "I'm really ok now... I got iron supplements. I've got to be careful, but I'm fine. And the baby is fine too..."
Relieved, Rayne let go of Sarah and bended his knees slightly, putting his hands on her belly. Checking with his own hands that the little bean was fine. He looked up at her: "You know, I'm sure it's a boy."
Sarah smiled and looked lovingly at the father of her unborn child. "We'll know for sure if we go for an ultrasound. Do you want to?" Rayne nodded with a smile: "Yup, 'cause I know it's a boy."

Anemonia 2020 / calligraphy on paper
Tumblr media
The words that I originally thought of were "evolution, natural selection, and genocide". This led to me thinking about the ocean and the ways in which humans have harmed the creatures who inhabit that. So, my creature swallows the forks that fall into the ocean and sprays them back out to humans in order to defend the clown fish. In Finding Nemo the fish would stay inside of the anemone to hide from the outside world. So in the left corner I made these human/fish like clown fish looking up at the anemone monster that is emerging from the plants to protect them. Anemonia is able to defend the under water world from enemies by shooting out forks and spraying out air through the hole at the top of her head. When she sleeps she curls up with the fish and is able to provide them with a barrier because of her skin that camouflages with the reef and the other anemone.

I feel like we don't really see that Daniil Dankovsky is a human in a very bad situation, simultaneously coming as a loser and as a winner. When I see people talking about Daniil's character (or even arc) it's either solely about him being an ultimate winner and all people around are just haters who don't get it, or about him being an ultimate loser who should not be defended at all. What I wanted to say is: the Bachelor's Pathologic Classic arc is not as plain as some people say.
What do I mean? Imagine, you are running your own laboratory, which goal seems nearly impossible but most noble to say the least: to defeat death itself and grant people the right to die not when "the time comes", but whenever they actually feel ready to. But of course achieving it could not be easy or ethical; logically, you have to interact with dead bodies, experiment with them (and living beings too) in many different ways, probably not all of them being socially acceptable, and most morally important: your ultimate goal goes against the nature laws themselves. Obviously, it may fascinate someone, but a lot of people won't like your and your partner's actions, including the government. The scandal eventually heats up so much that your life's work is threatened with being cut off entirely (with you probably stop being a celebrity and a genius and turning into an enemy of the people).
And then, like a gift from God personally, you receive a letter from some town in the middle of nowhere, casually saying there is an immortal man living here. And so, you are standing on the enge of the abyss; your life's work is about to perish, and only a miracle can save it. And couldn’t an immortal man be the very miracle that would certainly open everyone’s eyes to the reality of your theory and make the greatest scientific breakthrough of the century? Of course, in despair, you will immediately leave everything behind and rush after him like a drowning man after the last straw.
And then everything collapses again before your eyes. The immortal man died along with the one who wrote about him, and you haven't even got a chance to speak to any of them, and the people around you seem to be starry-eyed, AND by a complete accident you are now stuck in this godforsaken place because it was suddenly revealed that they died from a terrible mysterious disease. You are a doctor, a scientist, a bachelor of medicine, and you are the one who has to deal with this now. What? You don't want to? You ask people when the train arrives? Oh, what a shame, but now you have no choice: the government has dropped on your shoulders the lethal weight of the responsibility for every death and every wrong event in this town under the auspices that if you manage to defeat the disease, then MAYBE your life’s work will not be turned to dust. You may not have planned to fight the unknown plague, but now you have to do it.
See? And that's just the start of his plot. He almost impulsively arrived to the Town-on-Gorkhon because he needed to save his idea AT THE MOMENT. Before it gets shattered to pieces. He never wished to fight The-Most-Horrible-Pathogen-To-Ever-Exist, no, he was aiming to meet a literal living miracle.
He did not succeed. Neither he met the immortal man, nor he defeated the plague, and it remains unknown if he at least saved his laboratory. He lost a lot, a LOT. In fact, he only won in what he initially did not and could not count on (the Polyhedron turned out to be a new possible source of human immortality, but could Daniil have thought about it himself?)
That's the metamorphosis. He loses everything he had before he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. His ultimate goal of defeating death may not have changed, but his beliefs and methods did, as he was forced to watch his work burn before getting a chance to start anew. He has to accept what he initially rejected and turn his mindset on 90°. His arc is about a defeat, a search, a metamorphosis and a BITTER victory. Yes, Daniil Dankovsky is a loser, but have you seen what he achieved by the end? And yes, Daniil Dankovsky is a winner, but have you seen how many defeats precede this?
Initially this text was going to be much more... filled with resentment and anger for all the misconceptions I saw about the Bachelor, but turned out to be a much simpler analysis on his character arc, which I've seen being mashed with dirt by many people in the community. Hope you enjoyed.
Btw I see a symbolism here; snakes are often associated with a new start, a shed into something better, and I think everyone already knows what animal the Bachelor is highly represented with.

• Hello, here's little info about me:
You can call me polufabrikat or simple_user (simple user), the second one is actually a username for most of my artblogs (especially for old ones (I put that username as a mark)) and I go by she/her pronounce. I'm an aroace with ASD, AvPD and DPDR, nice to meet you :)
On this blog I'm going to post some things about Pathologic, Silent Hill, Arcaea, Deltarune, FNaF, JoJo Golden Wind (mainly about Doppio and Diavolo), other fandoms and topics I'm interested in, and some more random things.
• Some things you should know:
I !DON'T! believe Diavolo and Doppio is about DID, so my art about them doesn't refer to plurality in any way. Please, think twice when you're about to like or reblog my art of them, I highly recommend you to read my theory about them first [theory]. Also, I don't ship them;
I share mostly my art here, so my posts may not be regular (art is not my specification);
Basically I don't mind someone using my work somewhere (in edits, profiles, etc.), but give credits or warn me about it, please;
My art (and other things I share, of course) may contain blood or other not entirely pleasant things, so if anything, you have been warned!
If you feel like criticizing my texts, my arts or anything else about me, give mild criticism, and if you want to argue with me, do it politely too. Be kind;
I may not always understand your messages (especially if they are jokes or use idioms or are not very typical construction), just a warning (I may ask you to explain what it meant, please don't think it's something bad, I just want to understand);
My art may contain some non-English text. I usually put translation myself, but if I forget to do it - feel free to ask about it;
My English is not perfect, as it's not my first language, so there may be some mistakes!
I hope you'll enjoy it here!!
