During Marie's story mode, we get flashback cutscenes and they show us Patricia back before she became Peacock.

And she kinda resembles Yuuko from Nichijou.

Also fun fact: Sarah Anne Williams voices both Peacock and Polly Geist.

She also does a lot of anime dubbing, but I thought it was funny finding out about these two in particular.

Peacock

- first of all, peacock doesnt play boardgames. she gambles. boardgames are for kiddos- hey is that monopoly?

- peacock asserts her dominance by assigning herself to read the rules, since the majority of lab 8 has never played monopoly before

- the rule soon goes to big band after he realizes shes been making up the rules instead of actually reading them

- when the game starts, peacock knows how to play the real way. 

- she cheats, steals money out the bank, not say anything if she landed on somebody else’s property unless they said something first, give people back the incorrect change when they payed her and anything possible to get ahead.

- she sparks more than one argument doing so. 

Avery

- peacock’s partner in crime, as usual. they work on a team.

- ruthless co-master of the board, shows no mercy

- he will take every last dollar you have until all you have left is a Get Out Of Jail Free Card.

- after Andy accuses Avery of cheating, Peacock goes Argus Agony all over the board

- “where’s your proof now, Andy Assvil? huh?? where is it? hm??”

- Andy doesn’t talk to either of them for a week. 

Andy Anvil

- andy has NO idea how to play, even after big band explains the rules

- he has street smarts, not actual smarts. on top of that hes a sports nerd, hes never touched a board game in his life.

- he trusts that boss can help him out, right? hes nothin but loyal to her, peacock wouldnt screw him over.

- he was so, so wrong.

- andy and avery get into a huge argument over cheating, resulting in the board being flipped over then destroyed entirely

- “ANDY ASSVIL??” choking back tears “Y..YOU CANT COME UP WITH ANYTHING BETTER?!”

- he’ll never look at the boss the same way again…that is until he gets over it like a week later.

Tommy Ten-Tons

- it’s safe to say he doesn’t even attempt to understand how to play, unlike poor andy

- hes a lot less ambitious than the rest of the crowd, usually sighing as he attempts to move his piece under all the screaming and arguing above the board.

- he stays out of the argument until avery calls andy ‘andy assvil’, then he laughs so hard it causes andy to get even more upset and kick the already demolished board.

Big Band

- is probably the only one here whos actually played monopoly before.

- he kind of just sits back and watches, letting the other members of lab 8 work things out themselves. every time he tries to correct them he gets spoken over anyway.

- which doesnt bother him much, its just monopoly.

- but once the game actually starts, he becomes more and more competitive. enough for him to have snarky banter with peacock. snarky banter turns into genuine anger once he realizes shes beating cheating the entire game.

- PATRICIA STOP CHEATING!!!!!

- he comes close to actually beating and outsmarting peacock and avery, then things start getting out of hand

- he gives up trying to calm everyone down once the board is destroyed, and ends up yelling at everyone “go to their rooms.”

- he forces peacock and avery to apologize to andy. which doesnt matter much since they all got over it by now but he insists on burying the hatchet that was already very buried.

For those who don't know, Lab Zero Games the developers for SkullGirls started an Indigogo to continue adding more characters to the game, A lot of them planned well ahead for the game and even have their own list of gameplay inspirations. For the moment a lot of them can be seen in the background of certain stages as well as cutscenes during story modes, and you can unlock their concept art and fan art in the gallery. Anyways, here are some of the many characters who could have the potential to make it as DLC:

Feng, Beatrix, Regina, Hubrecht, and Taliesin are all from the circus which Cerebella is from (She's close friends with Feng)

Adam, Molly, Roxie, and Panzerfaust are members of the Black Egrets who serve under Parasoul (and her little sister Umbrella)

Leduc and Hive are Agents from Lab 8, the same place that also helped Peacock and Big Band.

Andy Anvil is one of Peacock's gang members who also helps her during matches. He can also be seen during Double's blockbuster move, and he apparently has a rivalry with Beowulf.

Aeon and Venus are suppose to be this universe's Master Hand & Crazy Hand.

And we have Mrs. Victoria who is Filia's school teacher, she can be seen in the tutorial stage and is also seen in Double's blockbuster.

I suppose I should also mention Minette and Brain Drain, even though I recently found out they are coming to the mobile game. Overall I do hope they are able to continue adding more characters in the future, I love this game so I definitely would like to play more of it.

As promised, I made the second part.

I'll be honest.  I tried very hard to find the most suitable voices, but I'm not sure about some actors. Maybe they seem unsuitable due to the fact that I could not find a suitable example of their voices.

If you think that some voice is not suitable, then please write to me. Then I'll try to find a more suitable voice and show him next time.

Oh no. I seemed to have fallen into some sort of rabbit hole. The next set is some 1930's sort of thing? Sort of got thinking about rubberhose animation and well... This is the weird thing that came out of that.

Basically I tried to redo the Phyrexian Praetors in old cartoon style.

The first one I did was Sheoldred, felt decently Betty Boop-y. Had a lot more trouble with the horrible spider butt with a very John Dillworth-y kind of smile.

Got into something of a groove and did Vorinclex next. And the big galoot felt very Bluto/Sinbad. The skull isn't as animalistic as his real face is, but I decided it was a good time to reference the Skeleton Dance.

The third one was Jin-Gitaxias, and he was just a delight. If a little odd to figure out. Won't lie mostly vibing off of "The Ghost of Stephen Foster" here. And maybe an old cartoon vulture or two. Went with an accordion spine leading into baggy pants.

Definitely the easiest one I wound up doing. Elesh Norn just wound up having some Olive Oyl proportions. Long limbs, offbalance noodly proportions to match her cumbersome headwear.

Urabrask was definitely the one I struggled the most with. Mostly because even in his main card art, its hard to tell what's going on with him. Plus there isn't exactly much that "looks" like him in old cartoons. Initially considered going a dragon route, before stumbling upon Andy the Anvil (Skullgirls) and just giving him weird boat smokestacks and a mouth that vaguely resembled a cow-catcher. Sort of get the industrial vibe.

And yes... there is a color version (of the characters at least). By the time I was working on the background I had thrown on Black & White filter, and was just trying to use more oil-painty brushes to keep it separate from the characters.

The background was meant to be an afterthought, I swear. Maybe I'll try and put a color version of that together too.

Anyways off I go... Doing my various other art projects.
