“My Diamond I....” Jasper began, but found herself at a loss for words. This is what she’d wanted three, maybe four years now.....no. This is what she’d wanted for thousands of years now. Ever since she lost her Diamond, she’d felt lost. But now here was someone worth following, here was someone that was almost her. Better than her, even...!

Despite every effort to keep her demeanor serious, she couldn’t stop a small smile from forming on her lips as she looked up at her leader.

   hands clasped in front of her chest, rosie stared down at the seemingly half organic, half gem being, her head tilted to one side. she wasn’t sure what to make of all of this.. gems on earth again..? no more war between homeworld and earth? she.. couldn’t quite comprehend it all. she’d been ‘on the run’ for so long.. could it really.. truly all be over?

     her gems.      her luminous formations.       she was supposed to make them 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓.       rid them of their impurities.        of their -          𝒷𝓁𝑒𝓂𝒾𝓈𝒽𝑒𝓈.        to help them from their lost paths.        perhaps she was 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜.        paths,      merely,     divergent.        her precious facets unblemished,           merely 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆.  

                                     ‘    perhaps,      you are right starlight.  ’

“oh, hey there steven! doing a little shopping, huh?” 

sadie glanced at steven with a smile as she saw him heading down the grocery aisle. she held two boxes of hair dye in her hand, and seemed to be looking between them, wondering what she should choose. she’d tried green, and it had been.. fine, but not her favourite colour. since starting sadie killer and the suspects, she’d been trying to stand out a little more, and hair was a great way to do that.

“hey, can i get your opinion on something?”

this... definitely should not be possible. there was no way that stevonnie should be looking at one of their components.. OUTSIDE of themselves. the fusion stared down at steven, completely at a loss on what to say or even how to act in this situation. was this another dream? or some sort of fusion-scape? but.. if that were true, then where was connie? 

awkwardly, stevonnie raised their hand, moving to rub the back of their neck, smiling somewhat sheepishly. freaking out wouldn’t really solve anything, this was just.. super odd.

“uh.. hey.. steven.” they slowly narrowed their eyes. “you ARE steven, right? not just some sort of like.. doppelganger?”

The sight of her best friend startled Connie more than it ever had before. She couldn't help but grip her hands together, worry seeping into her actions as she hoped desperately that just maybe he would open up to her. That maybe they could talk this out.
