This was both Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder’s first experience in the recording studio. Chris was Andrew’s roommate and both Stone + Jeff were band mates of Andrew’s. This is what I loved about Seattle in the early to mid 90’s as all the great musicians of this wonderful city would all collaborate. Stone and Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) raised money from PJ fans, their manager, and donating memorabilia to buy Toni a new mobile home that didn't leak. This time it’s the Tacoma News Tribune from June 11, 1989. Excerpt: ‘Last year turned out to be fortuitous for the group; by November, Mother Love Bone had signed with a major label for a reported quarter of a million dollars. This happy state of affairs came about when a Geffen Records rep was given a demo of the group, which sparked immediate interest at Geffen and what seemed like every other major label around.
