Cine: Kapgang / Speed Walking (2014)

“Love Hurts” (”El amor duele���), del grupo Nazareth, es la canción que escucha Martin (Villads Bøye) cuando regresa a su casa y advierte las banderas a media asta que son enarboladas frente a las casas de Jutlandia (Dinamarca). Es 1976 y, a sus catorce años, recibe un golpe terrible: su madre ha muerto. Su padre Hans (Anders W. Berthelsen) y su hermano mayor Jens (Jens Malthe Næsby) están devastados y ambos afrontan la pérdida de forma diferente: Hans cae en depresión mientras que Jens, oculto bajo anteojos de sol, se vuelve resentido y airado.

Son tiempos todavía más complejos: la horrorosa novedad sucede cuando el muchacho se prepara para su confirmación, asiste a prácticas para la próxima competencia de trote (de ahí el título de la película), enfrenta al rumor de que su padre tiene sexo con la peluquera de la zona e intenta conseguir su primer beso (y algo más) con Kristine (Kraka Donslund Nielsen), la chica de la que está enamorado. El problema, como si no tuviera suficiente, es que Kim, (Frederik Winther Rasmussen), su mejor amigo, le enseña a masturbarse y la experiencia, además de fascinarle a punto de querer repetirla, le despierta dudas sobre el rumbo de su sexualidad.

El danés Niels Arden Oplev, de gran carrera en Hollywood (dirigió las remakes de “Los hombres que no amaban a las mujeres” y “Línea mortal: al límite”, además de dejar su marca en la TV norteamericana con “Mr. Robot”, “Under the Dome” o “FBI”), nos transporta a una zona pueblerina en la que los rumores y secretos, sobre todo sexuales, son prácticamente proclamados en voz alta mientras la vida y la muerte se convierten en realidades transformadoras.
