She honestly is just kinda.. Blunt? good or bad, though she does have enough forethought to keep the bad thoughts to herself most of the time. It's more in a quiet "wait, what did she just say?" kind of way.

She struggles to express actual internal monologue, her actual emotions and thoughts on the boys, but she shows it in.. other ways.

She genuinely cares about the boys, yes even bill, though he's like.. Like if Jane and Bill were closer in age and Bill actually wouldn't leave her the FUCK alone.

Though it's not like Pete's any better-- he always so weirdly macho and it's... kinda funny? Weirdly endearing? Like a little terrier going going absolutely ballistic on the screen door. Heh. cute.

Honest to god I love souyo so much it's for real- and them as their own characters too-

Like I may not be as hyperfixated on them as much as nameless from pokemon but like literally as soon as I started Yosuke's social link I started feeling myself getting attached to the two

They're just so silly and genuine, like a perfect balance of it, and yes including the fact Yosuke was a scrapped romance route- I can tell I'm hyperfixated on them because of the intense emotions I feel when I see artwork or canon content of them, like crying at the romance route scrapped dialogue, and so on

Silly: Yosuke is funny asf in game, yes I would agree some parts of Persona 4 should be rewritten in the future/most-likely-potential remake but like still he's a guy who seems to mask his insecurities with jokes and god. It hits hard at least to me. Same with Yu but in a more subtle way! You can see his funny personality through dialogue choices and moreso in Arena/Arena Ultimax too

Genuine: duuuuuude (gender neutral) DUDE!!!!!!!! THE WAY BOTH ARE VOICE ACTED IS SO GOOD IN JPN AND ENG!!!!!! I really like Yosuke's ENG voice a lot too, especially hearing the scrapped romance route and the sincerity in his voice AUGHSHSHSH and same with Yu's lines in p4a/au UEUEUEUEUE he cares so much about people and his family and his friends/team and his partner/best/first(?) friend in game 🥹 I love how even as a protag he gets given a genuine caring personality!!!!!!

Realistic: spoilers for persona 4 onwards

The fact Yosuke had that low LOW moment where he could've convinced Yu and the others to throw Namatame into the TV, and how he realizes he overreacted and his emotions got the best of him- THAT IS SO REALISTIC!!!! LIKE DUDE YEAH!!!! I wouldn't do that myself (cause persona doesn't exist irl) but I can see where he's coming from, going blind from anger and regretting it after. So damn realistic. And ofc I could go on to talk more about Yu too but SOME parts of how he acts does depend on what the player chooses, but deep down he's very realistically written and I'd argue he's more than a flat/static character easily!!!!!! Again, p4a/au really expands on that because of the fact you can play as other perspectives and see Yu's personality or even just playing as Yu- man, I like persona 4 a lot. I wanna dive deep into the other characters too but this post was a ramble on my 2 favs from p4

Souyo win but ofc I support other SAFE ships involving one or the other or both, just really really like their dynamic and their dynamic with interacting with society, nature, etc.

I absolutely do!! I am a Souji kinnie so I have many opinions on this man and yes I am projecting but (1) I do not care and (2) I do not care.

In the manga (which I have not read yet but I want to) Souji has pretty absentee parents due to their work and he's been forced to move around a lot for them. Imo because of this (+ already being autistic) he's always had a really hard time making friends. He's always been something of a loner, drifting btween people and places without making strong connections because he doesn't know how to form them. By the time of Persona 4 he's kind of accepted his fate of being the odd one out who will float through this town and leave unchanged like he has his entire life.

Only he does make connections this time. Connections that matter. And that's terrifying, because now that Souji isn't alone, now that he knows what belonging feels like, he never wants to lose that again. He never ever wants to go back. Hence his Shadow in episode 26. (I fucking love his Shadow sooo much you don't understand.)

This is a self indulgent one, but I also headcanon that Souji has learned that to keep the fleeting attention of his parents and the people around him, he has to keep up his grades and generally be helpful and accommodating. He values himself on his performance and talents since that's the only way he could receive the attention and love from his parents he wanted so badly. He's not naturally a great student, but he works his ass off to get good grades and do well at school and work and life in general. Basically everything other than socializing and making real connections which he struggles with hardcore because of autism.

Souji has learned from experience that his deadpan statements can be really funny to people, so he leans into that bit of his autism in the hopes it'll get him more acceptance from his peers. It's been hit or miss his whole life since a lot of people are still put off from him and he's started self isolating and stopped actively reaching out, but he knows the deadpan humor usually works better than trying to mask and his friends in Inaba love it and think it makes him charming.

Souji adores children. I think this is obvious considering how many of his social links involve children. In my opinion this is partially him just liking hanging out with kids because they're easier than adults because of his autism, but also is in large part because he remembers feeling abandoned and unloved as a kid and he doesn't want any other kid feeling that way.

Souji is gay. Like, fully homosexual, no interest whatsoever in women. He's known this for a while but he doesn't really know what to do with it since he knows society isn't super cool with it, especially out here in the boonies compared to the city. He's never really cared personally but he starts to care a little once he makes connections and this fact about himself starts to matter. But seeing Kanji start to and struggle to accept himself encourages Souji to accept and embrace that part of himself too, and by the time of the festival he's at the point of "fuck it, I am who I am and people can take it or leave it" and he's confident that if he told his friends they would still accept him.

As for his relationship with Yosuke, I think it's kind of a slow burn thing. He has feelings for Yosuke pretty early on but he doesn't pursue them since he's not really aware of them at first, he just Really Likes his partner and staring at him when he smiles. They are both pining for each other for so long without realizing what's going on because Yosuke's so closeted and Souji's just autistically oblivious of himself.

They both realize what their feelings mean around the same time (when they beat each other up ofc) and Souji is immediately ready to ask Yosuke to be his boyfriend because he's already completely head over heels but he doesn't know if Yosuke is ready for that so he waits for Yosuke to confess first. Which soon enough he does and from that point on they're partners for life.

Souji really, really wants to believe in the goodness of humanity. Like, extremely so. He thinks everyone is redeemable and has a good reason for their actions. So Adachi is completely incomprehensible to him. That's how I read their link in Golden, as Souji desperately wanting to believe that Adachi can be saved and that he has a secret good reason for killing people. Souji wants to understand and save him like he did with his friends. But the truth Souji has to face is that Adachi just sucks. Sometimes people you really liked and connected with just plain old suck. Sometimes people do evil shit for no good reason. Souji really liked Adachi. I think he bought into Adachi's silly act wholeheartedly (because autism) and related to it. So when he finds out Adachi is just an asshole that's really hard for him to accept.

Okay this is way too fucking long but I do think I talked about most of it. Basically, I give Souji a bunch of (my) trauma. Because I love him. Baby boy <3

The Longest Promise - Episode 6

There, let's move on a little bit on this series, now that I'm completely done with Eternal Love. I'm still waiting for stuff to happen yet in this drama, I think it might take a while, according to the rythm so far.

Chongming pays a visit to Zhu Yan. He tells her to go grab a some lamp if she really wants to learn the reviving spell. I'm not sure if that's a trap. Probably right? Because he's adamant that she's going to cause Shi Ying's death.

Xue Lu takes away the little wooden bird Shi Yu gave to Xue Ying. She says she's having a relationship with a man. Xueying doesn't dare saying that she received this from the prince, since they have to hide their relationship.

Zhu Yan tries to grab the lamp. As soon as she touches it, a swarm of magic butterflies come to attack her. Even so, she keeps holding on to the lamp. She has a vision of Shi Ying as a child and she runs after him to try and save him. Chongming tries to drug Shi Ying to sleep, but he's acting weird and Shi Ying notices he's hiding something from him. Then he discovers that Zhu Yan's there, almost dying. He saves her, which allows her to grab the lamp. She brings it to Shi Ying and he tells her that he duped her on purpose, so she would never come back. He's not her friend. She swears that she will never come back, even if she dies.

When Zhu Yan gets back to her room, her maid tells her that Xueying is in trouble. She rushes over to help her friend. She blames the man for not deserving her friend when he's not stepping up to protect her. She says that then they'll just remain single the two of them together. She's about to take Xueying away when Shi Yu confesses that he's the one who gave her the bird. Things turn out differently than Xuelu expected, as the father is pretty happy to have his daughter married to the prince. However, once the meeting's over, Da Siming tells him not to be in a rush to marry off his daughter, since Shi Yu might not inherit the throne, implying that the man cultivating in his cave is the legitimate heir.

Also, I really hate when they do that to voices. I can't understand a word. It also feels really cheap too, when they're modified to that point. Anyways. The masked people all looking for the blood of a king. Something like that.

Back hom, Zhu Yan is too upset and she doesn't want to eat anything. They send Zhi Yuan in (the dude that bought her a gift) last episode). He convinces her to talk about what happened and takes her out to have dinner and change her mind. It works pretty well.

And that is all for this episode! I feel like nothing really happened. When is the story going to truly begin? So far, I still have no idea what's the whole plot line. I read the summary of this series, but I have learnt the hard way that they are most of the time inaccurate. So I don't know what to think anymore. Please improve.

Idea: Persona users can hear their Personas in their mind when going about their daily lives.

This is unfortunate for any Wild Cards, because all the gods and monsters from various mythologies, philosophies, and cultures are all widely different from each other and often don't get along. When Joker isn't being pelted with constant questions and contradictory advice, he's staring off into space because all his Personas are fighting again and it turns out having Metatron and Lucifier equipped at the same time wasn't a good idea because they can't fucking stand each other.

Wild Cards are just the overworked parents of their games and their own Personas are at least 20% of the reason why.

I absolutely adore this because you're RIGHT! Ren would have SO much going on in his head ALL the time especially as he gains more and more slots for Personas

Gosh imagine the chaos of having ALL the archangels in your possession + Satanael, Ren would not be able to get any sleep

And thinking of the other thieves they'd most likely be envious of Ren's power but he would be so done all day every day and just be like "you don't want this, trust me" and they'd be like ??? because they'd probably think that the only Persona Ren can hear is the one he has equipped but NOPE
