to anyone who wants to commission custom plushies, absolutely do not go to BlueberryBits on esty. i can put together a whole ass post about why but long story short is i've waited a year and about 3 months for custom plushies because they PUT OFF DOING THEM and then WOULD NOT message me back for months at a time. repeatedly.
#mrowr.txt#i will say i'm not a mean customer! i waited patiently for months before inquiring#and it started as very innocent questions about plush updates#as i'd followed them on insta and hadn't seen ANY nor been told about any progress#and then slightly more frustrated the longer they ignored me because i paid 170 fucking dollars only to never get a single update#and then eventually politely furious because it had been a whole-ass year with no sign of plush#but yeah. i can provide screenshots and everything if anyone genuinely wants#i think they're probably a lovely person who CAN do incredible plushwork#but in no universe can i ever recommend someone with customer service so bad#imagine taking a commission and then instead of doing it only doing OTHER commissions taken afterwards#and your own personal convention plush and costume work#and ignoring the person who paid you real ass money for them

Robert Moonbrow, Cleric of Pelor | Sole Survivor & Dogmeat
Photography by David Ngo at C2E2 2024
- - - - - - - - - -
Hello, Tumblr!
It's...certainly been quite a while, hasn't it? OOF. I really apologize for the unintended hiatus.
I was at C2E2 in Chicago a couple of weeks ago with some updated costumes, and figured I'd share!
Friday and Sunday I wore my Sole Survivor costume from Fallout 4, with plenty of extra weathering and proper strapping since I slapped it together prior to Halloween last year. I made the Dogmeat Heavy Dog Armor for my actual German Shepherd(Caboose), but since he's not a service animal(please don't bring your pets to conventions), I wound up purchasing a close-to-life-sized plush version that the costume *mostly* fit on. The number of people who did double-takes and "thought it was a real dog" was staggering, so I guess I did something right. Also, Sunday of C2E2 is always touted as family day, so the number of kids that came up asking to pet my dog was adorable.
On Saturday, I wore my D&D costume: a half-elven cleric of Pelor of my own design. I adore Dungeons & Dragons, and as an homage to nearly playing with the same group(multiple campaigns) since 2002, I made my first character Robert Moonbrow. I debuted this back in 2022, which revealed some issues with my design, so those fixes were made(mostly reinforcing the straps to prevent stretching and to reinforce the area around the rivets since all of the armor is EVA foam) as well as a heater shield I never got around to finishing, which turned out great, with the exception of being able to see the wrist straps through the foam on the front. On a whim, I decided to enter the Crown Championships of Cosplay this year, ReedPop's costume contest. I had zero expectations of anything, since people have no attachment to original characters other than the person making it, but I worked insanely hard on this thing, dumping probably close to 1,000 hours into the costume overall, and pushed the boundaries of my skillset to make something I was truly proud of out of a love for the fun my friends and I had with our time together. I didn't win anything, but it was genuinely great just to be in the same competition as the others who entered with their insane craftsmanship and attention to detail, and I do mean that, sincerely. We had a great time talking shop backstage during the competition and admiring one another's costumes.
Will I ever compete again? Probably not. It kind of eats up the entire day, and it takes me forever to make a costume in general, much less one to compete with. If I ever did, I might consider revamping my Grey Warden Alistair costume or something, but it's an extremely low priority. At the end of the day, cosplay is just a fun hobby for me, and adding extra stress with competition prep and anxiety kinda sucks some of the fun out of it, even though it was a fun and new(at least at this level) experience this time.
This is the only convention I'll be attending this year, much as I absolutely miss all of my friends at Dragon Con and would love to attend. I haven't been there since...2018? Oof. My friend Darryn said he'll be there in 2025, so I made the promise to him that I'll be there, which means I'll be bringing Alistair, since we became friends by cosplaying the character. I would also love to bring my D&D costume, but it's not exactly a cool and comfortable costume, so I'm going to try to test out its comfortability in the heat by wearing it to the Bristol Renaissance Faire on the Wisconsin/Illinois border at the end of July this summer(Saturday, July 27th is the plan). If you're in the area and want to see it in person or say goodbye to me as I potentially die of heatstroke(kidding!(hopefully...)), feel free! Fingers crossed the weather holds out that day for a solid test.
Anyway, time for me to shut up! Enjoy some additional shots from C2E2 2024:

Some notes before you guys read. If you didn’t see my post I had an idea for a fic about the reader being a Cosplayer how gets transported to the jojo universe while they are cosplaying and they run into the character they are dressed as. I hope you guys enjoy the first chapter. I plan on having 3 or 4 total
Fancy seeing you here
Chapter 1
Rohan Kishibe
It’s a warm Thursday morning. It’s the first day of the convention you’ve been looking forward to for months. You’ve been staying up till god know when , sewing and building your cosplays. Styling wigs and gathering props when you have free time after class. Day 1 is Rohan Kishibe. Your number 1 favorite character. You’ve decided to go with his iconic white crop jacket outfit with gold pen tip pendents and an iconic gold head band. With your perfectly styled green wig on and your fountain pen and part 4 manga book in hand you make your way to the convention center.
As you walk down the street to meet up with your friends you feel a sudden jolt of energy and black out. When you wake up you are laying on the side walk, but you don’t recognize the street you are on. You get yourself to your feet and take in your surroundings. You don’t see any signs of the convention center or anyone in cosplay.
“Hey Rohan Sensei!”
You jump at the voice coming from behind you,
‘Thank god someone recognized my character’
You spin around to greet the person calling out to you. When you finally see the face of the voice you can’t believe your eyes.
“Wow that has to be one of the best Josuke cosplays I’ve ever seen”
The young man pauses and his jaw drops
“You’re not Rohan, you’re dressed like him but you’re not Rohan who the hell are you?”
You take a second to look him up and down
“Of course im not actually him he’s not real, but I have to say you’re Josuke is incredible, you look as if you walked right out of the manga, are you on your way to the convention”
In that moment the man dressed as Josuke grabs your wrist
“I’ve never seen you before how do you know my name, and what do you mean cosplay? This is what I look like everyday and you never explained why you are dressed like Rohan”
Pulling your wrist free you push the young man away from you and take off running down the street. You run for a few blocks before coming to what looks like a city map. It reads;
“Morioh City Map”
You freeze before opening the manga you remember you brought with you, the Morioh map in the book matches the map in front of you.
“What the actual hell is going on here I can’t seriously be in Morioh it isn’t real”
You look around to see buildings on the street line up with buildings illustrated in your book. You punch yourself in the leg several times
“Wake up, wake up, this isn’t real... wake up”
To your surprise you don’t wake up.
“If this really is Morioh then that young man was really Josuke, and I’m not in my own reality anymore, how did I even get here...... and I’m dressed up like Rohan Kishibe, god the people here are gonna think I’m crazy or that I’m actually him”
After you calm yourself down you realize this experience is kinda like a dream come true. You’re in your favorite universe. And you got to meet Josuke Higashkita. You spend the day exploring the city since you’ve read the book you know it like that back of your hand. As you explore you are careful to stay out of sight of any major characters. However a few people have greeted you as “Rohan Sensei” they think you are actually him. As you roam around you happen to see Koichi and Yukako on a date, and Okuyasu walking into tonis, but you make sure that they don’t see you.
You’ve yet to see Rohan himself, but you assume he’s most likely working in his studio. As much as you don’t want him to see you, you can’t help but wander the streets till you come across his house. You feel butterflies in your stomach.
Rohan’s character has always held a special place in your heart, hell the manga you brought along with you is the one where he makes his first appearance. The illustrations of his house are spot on to the building in front of you. After looking the house over you decide you should move on to avoid being seen. As you turn to walk away you feel some one grab you and spin you around, but before you can see the persons face you black out.
When you wake up you are on a soft, plush green couch. When you regain all your senses you finally see the person who grabbed you, hes standing above you with your manga in hand. The person staring you down is none other than Rohan Kishibe himself.
“Who are you?... why are you dressed like me, and why am I in this book of yours”
You sit up swiftly and look him in the eyes
“You just used heavens door on me didn’t you, wouldn’t that have a told you everything?”
Rohan drops the book on the floor
“How..... how did you know about my stand? And when I tried to read your pages they were blank.... you have some explaining to do”
You’re jaw drops, his stand doesn’t work on you because you’re not from his universe that has to be why
“My....my name is y/n. I’m not from here”
Rohan rolls his eyes
“That was blatantly obvious”
“I mean I’m not from this universe, where I’m from you aren’t real, this town isn’t real, it’s all just a story”
You stand up and grab the book flipping through the pages till you come to Rohan’s pages
“Where I’m from people who are fans of these books, which became a tv show dress as their favorite characters and go to conventions... that’s why I’m dressed like you”
Rohan braces himself on the couch before sitting down to process what he had just hear. After he calms down he looks up at you and smiles
“So does that mean I’m your favorite character?”
You smile
“Yes, you are, ever since you were introduced to me in the manga I fell in love with you. Your style and attitude reminded me a lot of myself”
Rohan lets out a laugh
“ A lot of people wish they could be me, you’ve really taken it to another level.... I’m flattered. Say... that do you actually look like
You blush
“ well what are you waiting for... of with the costume”
You stare at him
“I don’t have any other clothes”
He rolls his eyes
“We are both adults here just strip to your underwear, I won’t disrespect a young lady like yourself”
You remove the crop jacket and toss it on the couch then move to take of the head band and wig.
“I need a wet cloth to take of this make up if you don’t mind”
Rohan stands up and walks to his kitchen. Meanwhile you remove your wig cap, then your pants and crop top. Leaving you in your bra and underwear. Rohan returns and hands you the cloth, you wipe of your contour and green eyebrows.
“There it’s all off, you happy?”
Rohan looks you up and down
“I have to say your have quiet the talent for becoming other people, you pull me of very well for a woman... you can put your clothes back on now”
Slipping your pants and crop top back on you leave off the jacket and wig. You sit on the couch next to Rohan and explain what your universe is like and how much he means to you.
“I just don’t know how to get back to my world, I mean I don’t live here at all where am I gonna stay?... what am I gonna do?”
Realizing this send you into a panic, you start hyperventilating and crying, you then burry your face in your hands. A few moments pass before you fell a warm set of arms hold you
“Y/n it’s alright, you can stay with me till we figure out how to get you home. I don’t usually care for people all that much, but seeing how much you care about me, a person who doesn’t really exist in your world inspires me”
Hearing Rohan’s words you begin to calm down.
“Thank you Rohan, I can’t tell you how much of a dream come true this all is, in fact I’m afraid that I am dreaming still.”
Rohan smiles and grabs his sketch book
“I don’t know how long you’ll be here but I wanna capture you before you leave”
You sit quietly as Rohan sketches away thinking about how you wish you could stay here forever
“Finished, one sketch of you as you are and one sketch of you as me”
He flips around his sketch book and shows you his work, you take it in and start to cry
“Rohan, you are amazing and I wish I was half the person you are”
Rohan rips the sketch from his book
“I’m going to hang this on the wall in my studio, because I wish I was half the person you are y/n. Now let’s get you to bed it’s getting late and we have a big day tomorrow, I’m going to show you around the whole city”
Rohan leads you to the guest room, and says goodnight. You get in bed and think of the amazing day you had as you drift off to sleep.
The next morning Rohan rushes into the guest room to find it empty. You are nowhere to be found. His head falls in disappointment
“ I don’t think she’d be gone so soon, I do hope to see her again someday”
~
When you wake up you find yourself back in your room laying in bed in full cosplay, manga in hand. You are relived to be home but you start to cry knowing you’ll probably never see Rohan again. He will remain a fictional character here in your world. Opening your manga just so you can see his face again, you flip to a page of him sitting in his studio. As he is illustrated sitting at his desk working ,you catch a small detail , to his right there is a sketch pinned to the wall. A tear falls from your eye landing on the page, the sketch is the one he did of you.

Clueless: Conventions
Hey Lovies. Just one more chapter after this one. Are you excited?
Chapters: Coffee, preparations, Hiking, Conventions , Whiskey
Want to check out another story? Masterlist
Tom didn't want to wake in the morning. Yet even as he successfully ignored his alarms, Luke was pounding at his hotel door. It wasn't fair. He rolled over with a groan and damned if his back hurt. It wasn't just his back that hurt but his legs screamed at him as he pulled himself out of the bed, looking at his phone, checking the time. He slept through his morning run, figures. With how much pain he was in a run sounded like a terrible idea anyway.
“Bloody hell.” He grumbled to himself.
Tom opened the door and slowly dragged himself back to the bed, collapsing face first onto the plush mattress, not offering the man in the hall more than a harsh glance. Would it be considered improper to skip the convention and never get off the bed again? True, eventually he would starve to death but would that be so bad if he didn't have to get up?
“A mighty fine 'Good Morning' that was.” Luke grumbled, closing the door behind him. “What is wrong with you, Mate?”
“I bloody hurt. Everywhere.” Tom moaned into the pillow.
“You said you didn't even go far?” Luke questioned in a mocking tone while pulling a suit out of the closet for his friend and client who clearly wasn't going to be doing any adult tasks such as getting ready at the moment.
“I know. Yet somehow, I bloody hurt everywhere.” Tom's moaning and pathetic complaining was interrupted by the chirping of his phone.
Luke watched in amusement as the man who was just acting like he was on death's door sat up, grabbed his phone and perked right up. Three cups of coffee wouldn’t have perked him up that fast. He sat, thumbs working over the digital keyboard on the device as Luke brought over what few things he needed.
“Shower, now. Then dress and go. I'll get coffee while you wash but if you dally at all, I'm drinking it and we'll be late.” Luke paused to look at the screen. “That her?”
“Yeah.” Tom smiled down at his phone, showing his friend the background for a moment before facing reality and standing.
“She really has no idea who you are?”
“None it seems. I told her I work in theater.” Tom shrugged, slipping out of the t-shirt he had slept in.
“So you lied to her?”
“It wasn't a lie. I just didn't specify.” Pants were discarded by the bathroom door.
“So, what about when she finds out?” Luke was unfazed by the stripping. Such antics were to be expected with Tom.
“I'll tell her Monday. Maybe Sunday night.” The shower turned on as Tom slipped into the warm water.
“She's pretty cute. I can see why you like her but really, things are doomed Tom.”
“Luke, I'll find a way. I'm going to do my best.” Tom shouted over the water.
“You always do your damned best. You're acting like she hung the moon. You've only known her for a few days. I get it, you're smitten but really Tom? You need to be focused on the press tour and the play.”
“I love her already.” Tom confessed, rinsing the conditioner from his hair.
“You're insane, you know that right?” Luke pinched the bridge of his nose knowing full well that his long time friend and client would be the death of him. “Suit today, you have a talk and a Q&A. I'm going for your damn coffee. Be ready when I get back and so help me don't you dare breath a word of this today.”
Tom couldn't help but smile to himself as he prepped for the day. Sure, his friend had some points and some logic but it didn't change how he felt. Still, she was so timid, felt so lowly of herself that part of him was scared to tell her about his life, who he was. How do you even begin to say: “people line up to take a picture with me after spending hundreds of dollars for the privilege because I happen to be good at pretend” without sounding like an arrogant ass?
Yet, he needed to tell her soon. She had a right to know what she was signing up for if she even wanted to still see him at all once she knew. Together they had to decide how to tackle things like media and what the public should know about their relationship and when. It wasn't a conversation he was looking forward to having. In his heart he wanted to keep her to himself, keep her separate and forever be just a man, just Tom in her eyes.
Sofya actually screamed when she got out of the shower and walked into her bedroom to see Sara going through her closet. No warning, no asking permission, no 'hey, I'm coming over!'. Sofya wasn't even sure how her friend managed to get into the apartment, the lock had been changed a few weeks prior when her key broke in it and Sara hadn't been given a new key yet.
“Calm down. I came in through the window.” Sara didn't even turn around as she pulled out a pair of dark blue jeans and tossed them on the bed.
“The window?” Sofya had a habit of sleeping with the window cracked open and often forgot to close it. Apparently, that was one of the many things in her life that needed changing. “How? Why?”
“You didn't give me a key. And I climbed the tree.” Sara had the amazing ability to say these things as if they were normal. “Drop the towel, put the underwear and jeans on.”
“You what?” Why was her life like this? Sofya dutifully dropped her towel and slipped on a brand new lacy thong she knew she didn't buy before pulling on the boot cut blue jeans as ordered. It was better to just do as she was told, Sara was a nightmare to argue with.
“Don't judge me. New bra in the bag. Put it on. It will make your tits look amazing.” Sofya sighed. “Don't look at me like that.”
“When exactly did you go into the city to buy me new underwear and why?” Sofya couldn't deny that the bra made her breasts look good, perked perfectly.
“This top.” A green blouse with gold buttons was tossed at her face. “Last night, after I left here and believe me, you will thank me later.”
Well now. Today was off to an odd start. Sofya managed to get Sara to at least allow her to do her own hair and makeup, that much was amazing on its own. They slipped on their shoes and before Sofya could even finish her third cup of coffee, Sara was pushing her through the door and down to the car. Sara drove a plain little Toyota Yaris, dark blue and so perfectly her that Sofya smiled every time she saw it.
Living in such a small town, they rarely took their vehicles out unless they were going into the city so driving was an odd treat. Sofya always liked driving or even just riding while others drove. The passing scenery, the changing of the landscapes all captivated her. Someday, when she had time, money and ambition she would travel. Someday she would see the world and maybe then she wouldn't be so plain. Maybe if she traveled and experienced things she wouldn't be so average.
Sofya and Sara had breakfast at a diner before going to look at coats. Apparently it was terribly important that Sara needed a new coat and it needed to be a classy trench with a tail gathered in the pack. It was nice and Sofya liked it just fine. Next on the agenda was new boots. All the while, Sara kept checking the time on her phone, carefully minding it for some unknown event in the near future that she wouldn't elaborate on that required these updates to her wardrobe.
Soon, she was dragged to a large convention center covered in comic book characters and people walking around in costumes. Sofya had a magazine shoved in front of her face, told to try and find information on some antique bookstore that Sara wanted to take her too.
While she was busy, Sara ran off and obtained passes into whatever event this was she was so excited for. Sofya didn't bother looking around, none of it would matter much to her anyway. She never was one for movies or keeping track of actors. That was more Sara's thing.
“Any luck finding the bookstore?” Sara asked while she slipped a lanyard over her friend's head.
“Are you sure it's in here?”
“Yeah, keep looking and follow me. We'll go as soon as you find it. I know how you hate this sort of thing so we'll just be in and out.”
Sara was grinning like a kid on Christmas day. Somehow she managed to navigate Sofya through the crowds without her noticing any of the large banners with Tom's face on it. It was amazing how dense her friend could be. Sofya was looking through the magazine diligently for a bookstore that didn't exist. The plan was working perfectly. It was too good to be true. Now all she had to do was keep Sofya clueless while they sat and waited.
That wasn't hard to do. Sofya was happy to get a chance to sit in the small auditorium, away from the crowds. A banner above the stage proclaimed it to be some talk on something or another. She didn't care enough to read it as the room quickly filled. They were sat near the front, some VIP area it seemed.
“Sara, I can't find anything on a bookstore in here.”
“Maybe I was wrong?” With a shrug, Sara out the question off as if it was nothing.
“What is going on?”
“Just sit. It will be fun, I promise. Now shut up, they are dimming some lights. It's starting soon.”
A man came out on the stage, holding a microphone and welcoming the crowd. He asked if they were excited and received cheers in return as he sat down and introduced himself, talking for a few moments about what sounded like a superhero movie that left most everyone in the room emotionally traumatized. Sofya couldn’t understand getting invested in a superhero movie.
Sofya was honestly not paying much attention at first while Mark sat and addressed the crowd. He stood and she didn't think anything of it when he held out his arm to the side of the stage in welcoming and people began to cheer. The soft sound of boot steeps could just be heard as a person walked across the stage.
“I have Tom Hiddleston joining me today!” Sofya didn't even glance up from the game she was playing on her phone. Tom was a common enough name, she knew many Toms. Yet his last name was ringing bells as she tried to remember where she had heard it before.
“It's a true pleasure to be here, Mark.”
That voice however made her head snap up so fast her neck actually popped with the action. The loud pop or maybe the sudden movement drew Sara’s eyes from the stage to her. On the stage, taking a seat in an overstuffed chair with a microphone in hand was Tom. Long legs crossed and hand running through his hair, he looked just the same. The suit he wore was even similar to the one she had dumped coffee on what felt like a lifetime ago. The stage itself couldn't even begin to contain the warmth that seemed to radiate off of him.
They talked about some movie and Sofya couldn't follow it. She couldn't think. Thoughts would not form. At least none that were coherent. The sound of his voice, his laugh filled her ears and she didn't understand. All these people, this whole room was grouped together to see him? It didn't make sense, this was the same man she was hiking with the day before, the very same man that she had kissed.
Tom laughed and shifted when Mark asked how he had been enjoying his visit to Arizona. Pink looked to tinge his cheeks but surely that was just the lights. It must have been warm up on that stage and he was wearing such a well tailored gray suit. The warmth would tint his cheeks, surely. He couldn’t blush over such a question, would he?
“It's been nice, very nice.” Dumbly Sofya watched as he fidgeted with his glasses, pulling them off his face and cleaning them before placing them back, only to adjust them repeatedly.
“Do anything fun? Other than hanging with me, of course!” They both laughed and Sara watched as Sofya was completely captivated watching him.
“So?” Sara whispered but didn't get any answer.
“I uh- went hiking yesterday.” A smile warmed his face, touching his eyes and Sofya knew that smile, she had seen it up close.
“Oh, how far?” Mark leaned forward.
“I'm not sure. Not far, not far at all but I'm feeling it just the same.”
“Kicked your ass, did it?” Mark laughed
“Oh it did! But I managed to get some nice pictures out of it. It was great, really. I had a blast.” Tom smiled across the small way to the man. Doing these interviews was something he always enjoyed.
“So Tom, I've got a bet here from Little Tommy that you won't play the text game. Come on how, we all want you to play.” Tom laughed, it seemed innocent enough. He hardly texted and all his contacts were entered into his phone. He hardly used his phone for anything top secret or that would cause scandal.
“What? I've got nothing to hide. I can play, I'll play.” Leaning to the side, Tom slipped his phone out of his back pocket, unlocking it with his fingerprint and handing the device over without thinking twice. What harm could a simple game cause, really? He was honestly such a boring man, enjoying his books, music and work.
“Cute picture you got there.” Mark commented, reminding Tom right then about the impulsive and childish move he had made the night before and how big of a mistake he may have just made. “Taken while hiking?”
“Yeah, thank you.” Tom fidgeted in the seat, running his hands over his beard, through his hair and fiddling with is glasses again. He had miscalculated but at least she wasn't there. There was still time to be the one to tell her. He could still explain himself and who he was before she found out from someone else.
“Okay, you're most recent received text message...” Mark paused, clicking through. “From Sofie: Good morning to you too.”
“Well, that's boring. Nothing juicy at all.” Mark lamented as he handed the phone back. “Sofie though. Was that her?”
“I like to keep my personal life private.” Tom tried to sidestep the question, knowing full well he wouldn't get away with it.
“Everyone wants to know, is there someone?”
“I-ah.” Tom cleared his throat, scratching at his neck and shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “I once said if there was anyone special to me, I'd be the one to say it. Things are very early on but I will say I've found someone I care for a great deal. I'd like to see what happens, it's too early to say and I hope everyone respects that and gives her, gives us space the space to explore it.”
“You knew?” Sofya sat dumbfounded. “That's why you asked last night.”
“Yeah, I knew him the moment I saw him.” Sara admitted as the men on the stage shifted the topic of conversation away from romance and to impersonations.
“He's,” She swallowed the panic that kept trying to bubble up in her throat. “He's a big deal?”
“Kind of, yeah.” Sara nudged her friend. “I mean, he has a pretty big fan base as you can see but he's not like superstar big otherwise he couldn't walk around Grant without a bodyguard and all that. Are you okay?”
“Why?” Her voice squeaked. “Why me?”
“You'd have to ask him.”
“We'll be opening up for audience questions.” Mark announced and Tom inwardly cringed.
This was it. If he was going to have to suffer for his simple miscalculation, now would be the time. Some fan who was possessive or maybe simply slightly crazy would say something about Sofya. They wouldn't like that she wasn't famous. They wouldn't like that they didn't know who she was. Her anonymity would mean they couldn't pick her apart and that would irritate them. He loved his fans, he truly did but he was far from blind to the toxic nature of a small dedicated group of them. It was why he didn't participate in social media much of the time. It was also why he shied away from dating since his last less than stellar attempt.
Sara stood from her seat, dragging Sofya with her. She couldn't argue, too lost in her own mind to fully think. Why hadn't he told her himself? Why did he want her? What did any of this mean? To him? For her? She didn't pay any attention as Sara dragged her into a line. Sofya just watched and listened.
“Is miss Sofya someone you worked with?” The first question, he couldn't catch a break.
“No, I don't work with her at all and I'd rather keep details about her private.” Tom tried to appear relaxed as he answered even as he feared the whole Q&A session would be about someone who didn't even agree to be talked about.
“I hope she's not taking advantage of you being a star.” The woman grumbled as the microphone was pulled away.
“Hardly. She sees me as none of you do, a man.” He told himself to let it slide. Don't answer. Don't fuel them but the slightly sharp response was past his lips before he could stop himself.
“Next question.” Mark waved the person away, looking apologetically to Tom.
“For a Brit, you're a good tipper.” That voice snapped his attention to the crowd.
When asking a question, the fan was brought into a light so he could see them clearly. Standing in the light was Sara. Just behind her, out of his view was another person. Good god did he hope it wasn't her.
“Do you have a question too?” Mark asked laughing.
“Sara?” Tom choked on her name.
“When were you planning on telling her?” Sara grinned at him.
“I ah-”
“Don't worry, I helped you out. Only fair since you tip so well, consider it part of the cafe service.”
To his absolute horror, Sara reached behind her and pulled the person forward by the arm. The one person he had been missing all day was here. The one person he would have given anything to see was here. He choked on air, making what had to have been a highly undignified sound that was caught by the microphone.
“Tom, are you alright?” Mark asked, looking at his pale face.
“Sofya.” The crowd murmured as he choked on her name.
“Tom?” The microphone didn't pick up her voice well, it was still mostly in front of Sara but it did a well enough job.
“Bloody hell. Sara, what are you thinking?!” Tom stood, raking his fingers through his hair and paced for a moment before jumping off the stage. “I was going to tell her. I was going to explain everything to her. I just- I just needed time.”
Long legs took him down the small path between the crowds as he rambled. All eyes were on him. He could hear the questions they spoke. He could hear Mark and the event coordinators behind him.
“You just- you tossed her to the fire. I was going to tell her. I was but I just wanted time.” His attention shifted between Sara and Sofya. “I swear I was going to tell you. Let me explain before you run from me, from this madness that is my life.”
“Why?” Sofya choked out, stepping toward him.
“Why?” Tom parroted back.
“Why didn't you...” She weakly motioned toward everyone around them. “I'm not- In no way am I good enough for this...”
“Sofya. Bloody Hell Sofya. I didn't tell you because you didn't know me for this. All of this? You didn't see me and see Actor Tom. You just saw some bloody British bloke who spilled his coffee on you.”
“I spilled mine on you.” She countered softly as he kept speaking over her, well on a roll.
“You just saw me. You smiled at me and laughed at me. It took hiking up a fucking mountain-”
“It was a large hill.” The crowd around them laughed softly. For the most part, their spectators stood silent allowing them to be as alone as they could in the packed room.
“Fine. A bloody very large hill for me to convince you to give me a chance, that I saw you as good enough for me. And the damned truth is that it is me that isn't nearly good enough for you. Yet, I want to try for as long as you let me. Try to live up to the man you think I am, to always be better. Bloody hell, why haven't you run yet? I’m rambling.”
“Kiss her!” Someone from the crowd yelled suddenly.
“You can run, if you'd like. It would kill me but I won't stop you.” Tom whispered, suddenly aware of his voice filling the room just the same.
“What if I don't?” Sofya's voice was picked up by his microphone and the microphone Sara had taken hold of at some point.
“Then somehow, we give things a try?” Tom watched as Sofya bit her lip, blush dark on her face.
“Why me?” Softly, she inquired again.
“Do you believe in 'love at first sight'?” He stepped closer.
“I think I do now.” Reaching out, Sofya took his suit between her fingers, running her hand down the smooth fabric.
“It's terribly soon and we are doing this in front of the world. Is that alright?” Another step took him closer to her still as he took her hand in his.
“I'm scared,” She admitted. “But I don't want to hide.”
Tom's lips met hers in a sweet kiss. The microphone bumped into her face and the sound of their breathing filled the room. The kiss was over before it could begin as Tom pulled away.
“I should probably get back up there.” Glancing back at the stage, event organizers standing awkwardly around.
“Okay.” Fingers tangled with his for a moment.
“Wait for me after?” Tom asked as she nodded.
Pointing at Sara, Tom spoke before jogging to the stage. “I'm never trusting you again. Or tipping you for that matter.”
All the while, as he made his way to the stage Sofya stood stock still with her fingers resting on her lips. The crowd, people around her cheered and hooted. Some strangers congratulated her as if she had gotten engaged or something.
“She's even prettier in person.” Mark commented as Tom bounded up onto the stage, laughing and looking all the lighter.
“She is a vision indeed. Sorry for the interruption.” Tom apologized as he took his seat again, waving his fingers at Sofya one last time.”
“Not problem at all. None. Poor girl looks shell shocked and I think you owe us all a story now.”
Tom and Mark laughed and joked as Sofya and Sara took their seats again. As she watched on, blush high on her face Tom told the story of how they met, of the hike and sweet pictures. Tom found it nice, being open from the start. It brought him great pleasure to sing her praises for all to hear, to tell the world how much she already meant to him.

Green 12th Perigee (5/14)
((Songs referenced are Londonderry Air and the beginning of the Nutcracker Suite))
Gonzor took a slow drag of his cigarette, pinching the writhing yellow bug to get as much nicotine as possible. It was still too early for him to really get into the festivities. Slow, traditional dances with twirls and dips interested him as little as dessert did. Of course, this whole event to him distinctly seemed like an excuse for low and highbloods alike to pretend like their seadwellers -- cream of the crop in society's eyes -- and ignore the injustices of the world. Yet it was one of the few events he’d attended displaying a true level of equality. It wasn’t perfect obviously: the VIPs were disproportionately highbloods to an almost unbelievable degree in the same way serving staff and orchestra pits mostly comprised of lowbloods, and certainly you were more likely to receive positive attention if you had the money that came naturally to higher castes, and of course Gonzor felt it wasn’t a stretch to say the guards were more likely to suspect a lowblood acting out than a highblood, but so long as you weren’t a VIP, the level of decadence was effectively equal. He wasn’t terribly surprised, as a tealblood ran it, and Gonzor’s met just as many tealbloods (both and in and outside the justice system) who actually gave a shit about true equality as there were those who drank the proverbial Kool-Aid. Far from perfect, but a start.
Needless to say, the whole thing left Gonzor unable to place how he felt about the whole thing and in desperate need of another cigarette.
The orchestra transitioned from whatever piece it was playing before to a much slower, somber one heavy on the brass. Gonzor actually recognized the piece too: in his time working for Trolling Stone it was a common one lowblood folk artists covered when a studio required album filler due to its popularity and solemn sound. The melody rested overtop the accompaniment so well he could almost hear the singer’s lament to about leaving to join the fleet. A strange song to play at what’s supposed to be a joyous time, but Gonzor wasn’t about to complain. He’d take anything before the swell of mid-tempo waltzes and ballads about to come.
A few trolls began to step out on the dance floor. Most of them were of lower castes right now. He recognized them instantly, if not by the colors they wore, but by the silhouettes of the outfits. The only ones that broke the pattern - trolls with detailed forms and frequent variations in color, even from a distance that he presumed were the highbloods - seemed to be their dates.
There was another concept that still reeled in his head. For many events on Alternia, especially ones not actively suppressed by the Empress or her drones, fraternization on such a personal level was taboo. It didn’t stop everyone, but he knew well enough the number of trolls it did stop was more important. Alternian highblood society looked down on you if you didn’t treat a lowblood matesprit or kismesis akin to a slave at such events. Not even most midbloods were exempt. And if you didn’t, at least in public? Unless you had the ability to intimidate or talk yourself out of the situation, you were right on the path to becoming Social Pariah Number One. It all set up a situation where the status quo is rigidly upheld. Where quadrants die in every sense of the word.
But here? Here he saw purplebloods in face paint ask yellowbloods to dance in the same frequency that a rusts and yellows might dance with each other, with the same distinct lack of casuality. Trolls walked in carrying another on their arm more than two castes down without shame. Again, not perfect, but it helped put necessary support structures on a slowly collapsing building, and Gonzor respected that. Even if he felt it would be easier to burn the whole damn building down.
He let out a slow, long exhale out of the partly opened window. “Thank fuck for smoking areas,” he muttered. The last thing he wanted to do was smoke outside.
A server troll in a simple black vest and skirt with an large tray holding drinks walked by. Gonzor left his position just long enough to snag a clear, plastic cup of sparkling water. If he was lucky, this event would also surprise him in serving something other than La Croix.
He grimaced the second the taste hit his tongue. No such luck. Just the distinct taste of static, essence of essence of coconut and utter disappointment, courtesy of Her Imperious Beguiler herself.
When did the bar open? He wasn’t wholly sure. More importantly, he wasn’t sure he could keep putting up with the Empress’ piss poor attempts at making healthy Faygo being served for a whole night. Gonzor rested the cigarette between his lips so he could pull out the green palmhusk and check the schedule. Sure enough, he still had hours until the bar opened, which translated to more La Croix than he could handle. At this rate, he’d just go get regular water. Or maybe there was actual soda, but he had to ask.
Alas, such harkened the time to actually do his fucking job.
He pinched off the last of his cigarette, dropping the withered empty husk into the tray on the table. He meandered his way over to the bar on the other side of the ballroom, sidestepping suited guests on their way to the cookie tables. Not a long walk, and thankfully with himself and everyone around him stone cold sober, he didn’t have to worry about the drunken clopping of heels or his own unfortunate sway when he got too bad off. He managed to make it to the row of plush, empty barstools and grab the only seat far enough away from tables he could get a clear line of sight toward the actual dance floor without having to wallflower.
“I trust you understand the bar opens at eleven?” the bartender asked. Gonzor rotated in his seat to get a good look at them: a blueblood not much shorter than himself with curly horns and a loose tuft of dark hair, cleaning glasses in either preparation or boredom.
“Surely you've got some non-alcoholic shit back there. Preferably not La Croix too.”
“Certainly.” They set down the glass being cleaned. Gonzor watched as the bartender deftly mixed together some Faygo ginger ale and grenadine. Gonzor glanced at him suspiciously.
“Faygo?” he asked doubtfully. “Isn't that alcoholic?”
The bartender gave him a toothy smile. “Not all, sir. We only serve the non alcoholic variety. Wouldn’t want our lovely patrons to ruin themselves only so early in the night.”
Gonzor chuckled, letting his dark aviator sunglasses fall down his face. “I guess that’s true. I’ve been to my fair share of events ending in blackouts.”
“Eastern Alternia animation convention?”
“...Something like that, yeah.” At the telltale sound of one song ending, he turned back around in his barstool. The next song picked up a more jovial tone, relying on strings and woodwinds over everything else. It was the first piece of the night that gave him an actual feel for the weather outside without also slapping him in the face about it. A few bluebloods not far from him stood up to move to the dancefloor. They were three wildly different heights, but all the same Gonzor could see the thematic similarities in their dress style: high-low skirts made to showcase off their decorated black and silver boots and hemmed in gold. The tallest troll had what looked like a glittering starfield going along the bottom of the skirt and a strapless, plunging neckline. The short cobalt was adorned with white fur, accenting the v-neck cut rather nicely without looking too tacky. The other, shorter indigoblood was the most covered with her draped neckline and long sleeves. “Do they always look like this?”
“Look like what?” the bartender asked quizzically.
Gonzor’s gaze swept the room. He couldn’t help but notice the huge amounts of stylistic variability in what he could catch right there in the women: elegant gothic dresses, slinky evening gowns, poofy tutus, flowing medieval skirts. But when she got up, the partner in question always made a set. It was something he’d never much seen outside of contrived plots in romantic comedies dead set on proving why the leads should get together. His fingers twitched, longing for his camera to memorize the scene for him. “Matching.”
“Just the newest thing. Fads come and go. As we settle in for a new respect for our fated quadrants, our fashion shows.” Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the bartender shrug. He was admittedly more interested in the increasing volume of trolls leaving their chairs, with or without dates, to enter the floor as they wrapped up the last desired sweet treat. “You should have been here sweeps ago when naked dresses - or bare rumpusrobes, whatever your kind calls them - took the forefront. This sweep it’s much tamer. A more fantasy style. I like that.”
Tame was one way to describe it. Gonzor could think of numerous better words, none of them connecting to the concept of tame -- ostentatious, flouncy, overzealous or and occasionally bordering on costume-like -- but maybe in comparison to trolls hardly wearing clothing, this was tame.
“Hm.” Gonzor finished his drink in a single gulp and placed it back on the table with a solid thunk. The bartender picked it up immediately, placing it underneath the table in a quick motion reserved for those with experience mixing drinks. “Thanks for the company, but I think it’s high time I finally mingled in. Truly experience what there is to experience.”
“But of course.” He looked over just in time to catch the bartender give him a quick nod. “Good night to you.”
Gonzor grinned, eyes shining behind dark sunglasses. “Oh don’t worry. My job can only keep me away from my vices for so long.”

Hello. I'm new to your blog, and your art seems nice. I just thought I should send this. I'm still learning about all these egos. If your could introduce them, that would be cool. It's okay if you don't. It's really your choice.
Sure!! I don’t see why not!!
It’s gonna get long so I’m gonna put it under a read more!
Antisepticeye
Okay so first there’s Anti, aka Antisepticeye!! He started off as like a parody of Darkiplier (Mark’s dark ego but that’s another can of worms) created by the fandom some time in 2013-2014, and Jack liked the concept so much that he made a canon appearance on Halloween of 2016 in a video called “S̺͍͉Ḁ̸̰̮Y̶̪ ̳͇̭G̕҉̡̦̲O̤̫͖Ò̴̬̠D̨̺̦B̸̬̻Y҉̫̝̖E̲̩͟”, but Anti’s canon birthday is on October 10th!!
He’s a glitch demon that wants to take over Jack’s channel and calls all his fans his “puppets”! (He’s different in my verse but shh.)
Anti is technically the oldest ego in terms of existence if you don’t count Angus, but still!
Angus the Survival Hunter
Speaking of which, there’s Angus the Survival hunter! He’s not technically an official ego, but back in Jack’s early days on YouTube, he use to do this series called The Survival Hunter, which is where Angus’s character came from!! He speaks with an Australian accent and is basically a parody of Crocodile Dundee! He travels the wilderness a lot and he loves animals! His birthday is on April 4th!
Jackieboy Man
Next is Jackieboy Man! He started off as a joke to be a parody of superheroes (Jack loves superheroes tho so it was playful), but the community developed him into his own serious character! He wears a red-orange jumpsuit and a blue mask, but ppl like adding to his costume and making it more interesting! He’s based off of Spider-Man a bit, since that’s Jack’s fav superhero, and he has powers like flying and x-ray vision along with coding and hacking skills! He’s Jack’s third oldest ego, and his birthday is on July 10th!
Marvin the Magnificent
Then there’s Marvin the Magnificent! He’s only made one canon appearance in one of Jack’s Power Hour videos, but what of his personality is shown is that he’s a magician that wants to make it big someday, but he doesn’t have a lot of self-confidence and can be a bit cynical about his magic, but he’s doing his best! He wears a white cat mask with card symbols on the forehead, a blue shirt, and a black cape! While he canonically can’t do much besides card tricks and sleight of hand, the fandom likes to portray him with actual magic and that he writes sigils and performs spells and does a lot of mystical magic! He also really loves sushi and it’s his favorite food! He’s Jack’s fourth ego, and his birthday is on August 11th!
Henrik von Schneeplestein
Then we have the good doctor, Henrik von Schneeplestein, but everyone usually calls him Dr. Schneeplestein or just Schneep! He appeared in Jack’s second Power Hour video, and he’s also made appearances in Jack’s Bio Inc. Redemption series! Like his title suggests, he’s a doctor of German decent who speaks with a German accent and somewhat broken English! He is very optimistic and energetic about his work, but he’s also a huge sass master! He’s closest with Jack and Chase Brody (an ego I will mention later), and he also saved Chase from death!
He loves teaching others about his work, even if he gets his words mixed up sometimes. He has a wife and kid(s), but his wife left him for her tennis instructor, Rick, so he doesn’t have the best relationship with her, and it’s heavily implied that they’re divorced. To quote the wiki: “Schneep is highly independent and adaptable. He prefers not to use instructions or conventional tools and works best when he can explain what he’s doing to an audience, even addressing his patients when they’re under anesthetics and acting as if they reply. He tends to get very cranky when he hasn’t had his morning coffee.” He’s a huge coffee addict and it’s basically what he lives on. He’s Jack’s fifth ego, and his birthday is on September 15th!
Chase Brody
#suicide mention
Next is Chase Brody! Like most of Jack’s egos, he started off as a parody of a video personality called Dude Perfect! Chase appeared in his “own” video called “Teabag Edition | Bro Average”, and that’s why Chase is called Bro Average Chase, and it’s also why his last name is Brody! He’s a video maker and he loves performing trick shots and stunts with his nerf gun!
In the Teabag video, he throws teabags into coffee cups from various distances! He loves fun and good humor, but he has a bad habit of hiding his vulnerable side behind a smile. He has an ex-wife named Stacy and he has two kids with her, and they have a really bad relationship. Stacy basically hates him and repeatedly threatens to have full custody of his kids, which destroys him. At the end of his vlog, he seemingly commits suicide via his nerf gun, but a real gunshot can be heard when he fires it at his head. The end of the video shows him opening his eyes, though, so he doesn’t end up dying, and it’s canon that Schneep was the one who saved him from dying!
He wants to be there for his kids and be a good dad to them, but Stacy makes it very hard for him. He’s Jack’s sixth ego, and his birthday is on April 11th!
Robbie the Zombie
Then there’s Robbie the Zombie! He’s not technically an official ego, but the fans love him so much that he might as well be! He came from a thumbnail Jack made for a zombie game called PUBG that he played with Mark, Bob, and Wade, and the thumbnail is where Robbie’s appearance came from!
At first he was called Zombie Jack or Zombiesepticeye, but then he gained the name Robbie shortly after, which is a small nod to the musician Rob Zombie! He doesn’t have a canon personality, but the fandom likes to depict him as being a sweet soft boy with the mindset of a child who’s doing his best. Common theories as to how he came to be is that Marvin either used black magic to bring him back from the dead (aka my headcanon), or that he’s one of Dr. Schneeplestein’s failed experiments! He’s the seventh ego created, and his birthday is on August 15th, since that was the date the PUBG video was released!
Shawn Flynn
Next we have Shawn Flynn! He’s a character from Chapter 3 of BATIM, but since Jack voices him, some ppl (like myself) consider him a ego! He creates the plush toys for the show, and he’s very salty and sarcastic and very snappy, but actually really sweet once you get to know him! He’s a lone wolf who doesn’t like letting ppl get close to him (except Jameson, but that’s just me and I’ll explain Jameson later), but he will if he trusts you enough! He doesn’t understand modern tech at all, but he’s slowly learning! He’s the eighth ego, and his birthday is on October 5th, since that was the day Jack released the video for his playthrough of Chapter 3!
Jameson Jackson
Finally, there’s Jameson Jackson, Jack’s ninth and youngest ego! He first appeared in “The Jacksepticeye Power Hour - Jameson Jackson”, formerly called “Jacksepticeye: The Silent Movie” and “Good Ole Fashion Pumpkin Carve!”, and he’s based off of old Charlie Chaplin movies! Since those are silent films, Jameson doesn’t talk save for some speech cards that show up after he talks like in old silent films, so he’s canonically mute! People depict him using sign language (which is what I do), or that he has a bit of magic and makes those old speech cards pop around him when he wants to “talk”! He’s depicted as a very sweet boy who’s clumsy and hates mess and clutter, and he twitches his mustache when he’s thinking really hard! He talks all old-timey, too! He was called Dappersepticeye or Dapper Jack before Jack named him Jameson Jackson! His birthday is on October 31st!

““Please consider investing in a disabled person’s quest for independence.” You know. Everything about you is pathetic. You are a manipulator and a fucking liar. You want to start a “small jewelry-making business” in order to be “independent” from the your friends and family? Because your “disability” prevents you from holding down a normal, minimum-wage job like everyone else? Your “disability” is nerve pain in your wrists, but it only ever seems to be a fucking issue for you when you want attention, or when you want to distract people from how horrible you are as a person, or when you want people to feel ingratiated to you, as if they now owe you after you went through the physically agonizing process of writing responses to their threads. After all, how gross are they if they don’t truly appreciate the nightmare you live in, unable to do much in your life because your arms are so fragile (according to you)? If your arms give you so much grief (you would think that they must be broken, or that you don’t even fucking have arms, with how often and dramatically you tell anyone and everyone about how disabled you are), then why are you trying to get people to fund a jewelry-making business for you? Something that requires skill, strength, and precision in your hands? You’re one self-important bitch to think you deserve to have your own fucking business (that involves a HOBBY you enjoy, wow. How many of us can say we have that? And that we DIDN’T need to take money from people who could have spent it on themselves?), completely independent from the rules and expectations of employment, when the rest of us don’t have that luxury - when the rest of us, too, have our own fucking problems to contend with, yet we will still recognize that if we want to get shit done in life, we have to toughen up and just do it. I remember the times when you would tell the group how hungry you were, but there was no food that you could eat that wouldn’t upset your stomach. You would tell us how anxious and panicky you were because your husband wasn’t making enough money in order to pay the bills, and you were frightened that your lights would get shut off, and so people would give you the money you needed. Of course, then I started learning about all of the shit you were buying. It’s normal to have your friends commission artwork and stuff for you from time to time. What isn’t normal is that somewhere along the line, you convinced them that you needed unnecessary, expensive things, including: 1) $200 for a customized plush doll of your muse. 2) $3,500+ Mac Unicorn computer because your other computer was “old” and getting “too slow”, though that doesn’t explain why you HAD to have the most expensive computer that Apple had on the market at the time. 3) $250+ on an SD actionfigure of your muse. 4) An expenses-paid trip to the fandom’s convention (TWICE if I remember it right). 5) Materials for your Lolita costuming hobby and the fashion events you went to with them. 6) Dragon software so that you could refrain from using your poor, delicate hands, but then you told me that you refused to use it because it was “too difficult” to adapt to (and a friend told me that if you were in legit pain, you would have treated the software like a godsend and dedicated your time to it so that it became easier to use, which is what it’s designed to do.) And then let’s not forget the things that you told me you were considering buying. Just the fact alone that you were considering selling off some of your ball-jointed dolls in order to either purchase a $1,000 actionfigure of your muse or a $500 actionfigure of your muse still disgusts me. Why not fucking sell your ball-jointed dolls to pay the bills you claim you don’t have the money for? Or for the fucking medical bills and medication and therapy sessions you made a GoFundMe page for when your insurance dropped you? I don’t trust you with this “business” dream of yours. If you managed to get your foot in the door and start selling your products, I know that the money you bring in won’t go to your fucking bills, or to help your family and friends as they had helped you. It’s going to go into buying shit you don’t need, and if anyone calls you out on it, you’re ultimately going to tell them that it’s “your” money, and you’ll spend it how you want. Evidence for this distrust is from the fact that I’m STILL hearing that you’re spending money on shit you don’t need. A $250 fundraising goal and you’re out spending hundreds of dollars on fashion items, including a $90 pair of shoes??? You need to grow the fuck up. You’re 35+ years old (by the way, stop lying about your age, too, you fucking creep, telling people you’re only 25), you’ve been unemployed for years and claim to be “poor”, yet you always have money to buy the stupid shit you want when it should be spent on the shit you need, and you’re nowhere fucking as disabled as you claim to be. Everyone I know has PTSD, too, and four people have unexplained nerve pain just as bad as yours, yet they all somehow manage to hold down day-to-day jobs and/or college classes, and none have ever made a donation post asking for financial help, even when they’re just as in dire need of it. You want to be fucking financially independent? Then why don’t you start it off by NOT doing the same fucking thing you’ve always been doing, begging for money from strangers and playing up your “disabilities” to win your way into their wallets. Instead, why don’t you stop buying shit you don’t need, sell the shit you don’t need, and start working on an allowance by working around the house for the people you live off of? While you’re at it, get rid of this idea that the world owes you something all because you were dealt a shitty hand early in your life. All of us have had shitty lives, but you don’t see us asking people to build our future for us.”

To my Tumblr followers,
The following letter is being posted here for hosting purposes, as this is my only publicly maintained blog that people can easily visit. In truth, it has nothing at all to do with most of you. You may read it, if you wish, or disregard it. It recounts a big change in my life that happened following the death of a close friend.
-------
Hello,
My name is Jess Hillard, I am 26 years old (27 in February), and I was a very close friend of the late Richard Concepcion. Some of you know my name, some may not, but if you’ve followed Rapid T. Rabbit & Friends within the past seven years, you’ve seen my work. I illustrated many graphics used in episodes of the show, crafted an updated puppet, and rebuilt the Rapid T. Rabbit mascot suit (with the exception of the vest, another friend made that). This is my first public statement since Richard’s death, as like many of you, I have needed time and space to grieve, and think about things. If you were a friend or fan of Richard’s, I kindly ask that you take some time to fully read this letter. I know it’s long, and I’m not the most eloquent writer there is, but it’s still extremely important that this be read, as it contains information about something Richard wanted me to do after he died. I’m very sad that he’s gone, but I can’t change that, and now it’s time for me to do what I need to do. Please allow me to better introduce myself by starting at our beginning:
Richard and I met in February of 2010 when I invited him to my 19th birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese’s here in Delaware. An unplanned trip to a CEC the summer before had sparked my interest in the animatronics and merchandise, so much that I decided to host my birthday party there with my furry friends. During that time I joined the Showbiz Pizza fan forum in search of others fans who held my same interests. While browsing I happened upon a user called ‘RapidTRabbit,’ a name I recognized from my time in the furry fandom. He produced a puppet show that had been around for a long time. Although I hadn’t watched too many episodes, I found the show to be extremely charming and endearing, and thought it would be cool to meet the person who created it, especially if he was a Chuck E. Cheese fan too. I had never spoken to him prior, and I didn’t know any other furry who knew him. Still, I sent him a message through the Showbiz forum, introducing myself as a furry fan, telling him I had a CEC birthday coming up and I invited him to join me. As I’m sure you’d expect, he accepted my invitation and came down. Via train, of course. And we had a great time that day. Most people would generally have considered a 19-year-old girl inviting a 52-year-old man she doesn’t know from the internet to her birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese’s to not be a very bright idea. But for me, it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Absolutely.
In the months and years following that first meeting, I offered any creative services I could to Richard, hoping to aid in the production of Rapid T. Rabbit & Friends and keep it going forward. At the time, and to this day, I found it incredible that he produced his show on his own, since 1983, and had kept it going consistently for all these years. Watching the show, I can recall enjoying it’s genuine simplicity and friendly humor. It made me happy. And I could tell that Richard was someone with a lot of creative passion and ambition, just like me. His show was the kind of project I wanted to be a part of. With Richard’s help, I learned navigate buses and trains and traveled up to New York City regularly to work with him. In early 2011, I rebuilt the Rapid T. Rabbit mascot suit, crafting a new body and adding new fur to the original fiberglass head, and maintained the suit throughout the years. I never charged Richard anything for it. I did it because I thought a man as dedicated as he was deserved to have a nice looking costume. Richard and I made many RTR appearances together, like the OCNJ Doo Dah Parade, the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, or Puppet Day at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York Harbor. And when there were no appearances to attend or episodes to record, we spent a lot of time together as friends, going to restaurants, walking through parks, seeing shows and riding carousels.
Richard introduced me to so many places and things about New York City that I’ve grown to love. More than I could ever list. Red Bowl Noodle Shop in Flushing was our favorite place to have dinner together. On longer trips, he welcomed me into his home, small and crowded as it was, and gave me a place to lay down, watch some cartoons and talk about things we both enjoyed. We had a lot of adventures outside of the city, too. I can the remember the thrill and excitement of riding the classic Derby Racer together at Rye Playland in Westchester County. We once traveled to Salem, MA for the 10th and final iteration of Cheesevention, the Chuck E. Cheese/Showbiz pizza fan convention. Some years he’d come down from New York and spend Christmas time with me, and we’d swap gifts, go out for dinner and see each of The Hobbit trilogy films in theaters each year as they came out. I can remember riding the Muppet carousel getting our photo taken with Big Bird at Sesame Place, and I can remember him taking me to the real set of Sesame Street in Kaufman Astoria Studios to introduce me to the “real” Big Bird, his friend Caroll Spinney. One year, we both stood on the boardwalk during Ocean City, NJ’s First Night celebration, watching fireworks go off in the midnight sky as we rang in a new year, promising each other to make it even better than the last. He even took me with him on one of his birthday trips to Disney World because I told him that growing up I’d never had a chance to go. He was a fantastic friend. I truly, genuinely enjoyed his company, and I feel like he really enjoyed mine too.
I’ve thought about Richard a lot since he died. At least once per day. I think about the kind of person he was, the moments we shared together, the things we did and said. The last time I saw him was in June, when he and a friend came down to my house to pick up some of his Care Bear costumes. It was the same as every other visit. He brought me a gift, a Disney Store plush of Bing Bong from Inside Out, because he remembered just how much I love that movie. We talked about the same things we always did. He taught me something I didn’t know about old technology, specifically the Sony Trinitron television set. We talked a bit about the next steps of producing the new Rapid T. Rabbit show we’d been developing for a few years. He took a ride on Butterbean, my toy spring horse. I told him I’d try to visit NYC soon to buy fabric, that we’d go eat at Red Bowl Noodle Shop again. We gave each other our usual big hug, I said I’d see him again soon, and he went home. The day before he died, he texted me photos of a Fix-It Felix arcade cabinet that he found at a barcade while on vacation in Oregon. He remembered how much fun I had playing that game when we found it at Disney Quest, and wanted to remind me of it.
That’s the sort of thing Richard did. He remembered things that people liked, and then he’d share things or do things to make them smile; he would bring them the same kind of happiness that he had. And I miss that happiness. I’m sad that it’s gone from this world. Richard was, without question, the most kind, happy, caring, and selfless person I have ever met in my life so far. He was special to me. Richard is the first person close to me to die, and I cry when I think that I will never, ever get to see him again. I don’t cry as much as I did in August and September, but I do still cry sometimes, and there’s a certain emptiness in my heart that hurts every now and then. But I’m learning to be okay and move on. Bit by bit, every day. I know that coping with a loss is different for everyone, but for me specifically, a big part of moving on means accepting the responsibility of fulfilling Richard’s final wish for Rapid T. Rabbit. I don’t know if he ever wrote it down, or if he ever told it to anyone else. But now, after some time, I’m ready to tell it to all of you.
Sometime in early 2012 I took a trip to NYC to see Richard. I don’t recall every detail of this specific visit, as there were so many, but I remember when this one took place because it wasn’t long after his father passed away that January. We were in his apartment, having a conversation about end of life affairs. One of his brothers had recently sent him a Word document template for a will and instructed him to fill in. I agreed with that idea, because you never know when you’re going to go, and having a will written makes things legally easier for those left behind to take care of your things. Richard told me that he’d already thought about this sort of thing, like who would want to have Care Bear mascot costumes, and who he’d give his rocking horses to. It was a weird conversation to have, but worth having, because we’re all going to go one day. He told me the names of a few friends he’d wanted to write in, and then he said that he asked if I was willing to be one of them. He wanted to give me Rapid T. Rabbit. And I can remember feeling.. sort of humbled in that moment. I listened.
He said that he wanted to leave me the original episode library recorded on hundreds of U-matic tapes, his editing system, the puppets, the costume, production logs, and all other show assets, so that I might preserve the show he had made and continue it in some form after he died. He said I’d need to find someone to perform the mascot costume, and I’d likely need a person who was able to imitate his voice. And I can remember him smiling and chuckling as he talked. Richard told me that Rapid T. Rabbit was his life’s work, his Kermit the Frog. He said, and I quote, “I want the character to outlive me.” I looked to him and said that I would. I promised. And he smiled and thanked me. To this day, I don’t know exactly what made him decide to choose me to be his successor. I never thought to ask. But still, I understood that for the first time in my life, I had granted a dying wish; I knew that one day I would be responsible to producing Rapid. T Rabbit, and that it would be a life commitment. But I thought that would be maybe fiteen years from now. I did not expect it to be only five. I don’t think any of us did. But things happen, and Richard’s gone now. He is at peace. And now I have to keep my promise.
Richard never finished writing his will, as far as I know. Maybe it’s a partially-filled Word document sitting on a hard drive somewhere. He had a tendency to procrastinate with things like that, and I never pressed him to finish it because I didn’t think to. I didn’t think he was dying. So as such, I wasn’t given any of his Rapid T. Rabbit-related assets and possessions. But that’s okay. I don’t need them to keep RTR alive, or to finish the new show we had started producing together. In addition, a great deal of Rapid T. Rabbit & Friends episodes and other resources are already online, so I can further archive them myself from there. And as you can see, I also have one of the original Rapid T. Rabbit puppets. In September, around Richard’s birthday, I remembered that I had the puppet, disassembled, in my fursuit workshop. Richard left it with me many years ago for refurbishing, and I’d used it as a basis to build the updated puppet in 2013. He’s since been put back together and will be taken very good care of. I’m unsure of who is in possession of Richard’s other RTR assets as of this writing, but whoever they are, I’m sure they’ll take care of them as well.
On February 21, 2018, Rapid T. Rabbit will celebrate his 35th anniversary, and will celebrate and many, many more in the years to follow. I currently lack the resources to create the new puppet show Richard and I had developed, so I plan to tell its story through a webcomic. I have absolutely no intention of monetizing the character in any way, shape or form at this time. A Rapid T. Rabbit mascot suit will also be built to star in future videos and appear at select events. I spent time thinking about whether it would be right to do this. A fursuit is a very personal thing, and the idea of replicating a deceased furry’s costume is usually met with contempt for a good reason. In my thinking, I recalled Richard’s passion for mascots. He was a professional mascot for most of his life, after all. Richard had such a love for costumed characters, both performing them and getting to meet them. I know in my heart that he would want Rapid to continue to exist as a mascot character in the real world, so people would still be able to meet him and get their photo taken with him. I realize that it for many of you, it will be weird to see Rapid T. Rabbit without Richard, and I understand that it may be a little uncomfortable to think about. It is for me, too. But it’s what I have to do. This is how I keep my promise to a friend. It’s how I thank Richard for seven and a half years of wonderful friendship and kindness, for memories that I will treasure for the rest of my days. It’s how I grieve, how I honor a person I loved, and how I say goodbye. I hope you can understand, and forgive me if need be.
I believe I’ve said everything I need to say, for now. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this letter. Thank you to Richard’s friends and fans. To everyone who was involved with Rapid T. Rabbit & Friends, whether it was for many years or for a single episode. Thank you to all the fursuiters who marched in Doo Dah year after year. To the people at Hi-4! Entertainment who invited Rapid T. Rabbit to join them at their charity events. Thank you to his brothers and sisters for supporting their brother’s pursuits, peculiar as they may have been. Thank you to the staff of Midwest FurFest for making him an inaugural Guest of Honor in 2000, and for inviting him back in 2009. Thank you to everyone who helped make Rapid T. Rabbit who he is. And last, but far from least, thank you, Richard, for entrusting me with Rapid, for being my friend, and for sharing so much of your life and dreams with me. I will be forever thankful to have known you, and I only wish I had one last chance to tell you exactly how much you meant to me.
Should anyone need to contact me regarding anything I’ve written above, or have another related question or comment for me, please send an email to [email protected]. This mailbox was set up specifically for the purpose of receiving RTR-related messages without having to publicly share my email address. By choice, I do not maintain a public online profile, even before Richard passed away. My daily life is very busy, so I will only be able to check this mailbox and write replies a few times a week, but I will do my best to answer your questions. Thank you for being patient with me while I work things out. I hope you all have a good holiday season, and I look forward to getting to know you better.
Take care, see you next year, and keep hoppin’ happy.
Sincerely,
Jess Hillard and “Rapid T. Rabbit”

you know it really is kind of hypocritical for you to talk about how much you hate chris-chan for talking about making merchandise of his bad fancharacters when you're selling an eggman bodysuit in violation of copyright and trademark law. you likely won't get into trouble, but it's still illegal to do that.
Good thing Sega, and just about practically every other copyright holder in general, for most of the part don’t give a shit if people make or sell off cosplays of their copyright or trademarked characters, and here’s why:This Eggman cosplay was not something that was mass produced. It was something that I made for myself, personally, and as a one-time thing. That’s one of the big differences between the average cosplayer doing a one time, custom made commission, or selling off their retired cosplay, to the average Chinese bootlegger pumping out mass produced cosplay or mascot costumes from their factory to Ebay. This is why if you’ve ever went to an artist alley at an anime or comic convention, or had a table at an artist alley at them, you’ll notice how they’re allowed to sell only so many prints of their art involving copyrighted characters, and how they’re only allowed to use their own work in general and absolutely no copyrighted or trademarked material; as in, no official stock-art or logos that companies use to promote their series or franchise, and no tracing from official sources or other fan artists too. Hell, this is why artists in general are able to take drawing commissions involving copyrighted characters like Sonic, Mario, etc. They’re done as one-time things, and again, not something that was made to be mass produced. This is mostly because things like fan art and cosplay in general, for most of the part, tend to fall under fair use, due to those two things being transformative enough of the original thing in some way, especially if it’s parody.(But even then it can still tend to fall under a grey area to some extent.)Hell, do you have any idea just how many people have a career in cosplay, cosplay modeling, or even cosplay photography, nowadays? Do you know just how many sites or groups there are online that are just dedicated to people selling off their second hand cosplays or cosplay items in general, that I’ve yet to see be shut down due to receiving any Cease & Desist orders? Even Disney cosplay in general seems to, for most of the part, come out unscathed from the copyright or trademark ban hammer, and Disney is notorious for being protective of their copyright and trademark.Another reason why practically most copyright holders in general, like Sega, do not really care if people make and sell off one-time made cosplay of their characters is because they’re most likely not even in the market for costuming in general, anyway. So they don’t really even have anything to worry about in terms of others cutting into their profits or source of income. And even if it really is illegal, or infringing on their copyright to some degree, guess what? Sega, and most other companies out there, do not care enough to go out of their way to send cosplayers or fan works Cease & Desist orders.(Unless it’s Nintendo or Archie.) Not only do they realize that it would be a waste of time trying to find and take down every single thing that could be infringing on their copyright or trademark, but it would also make them look like bullies by going after small fans who can’t even afford to legally defend themselves.(If you haven’t forgotten, this joke of a legal system is more reliant on how much money you have to shelve out.)Especially in Sega’s case, at least involving the Sonic franchise: They realize they cannot afford to further piss off the fans of their Sonic franchise by sending out Cease & Desist orders to just fan projects in general, making money off of their intellectual property to some degree or not. I guarantee that if it wasn’t for the fandom mostly being the wild west, in terms of what they can do with the characters and properties surrounding it, that the Sonic franchise would not have lasted as long as it has to this day, as it is what has helped kept the Sonic franchise to be still relevant enough to this day. Hell, if anything, Sega seems to embrace it, “copyright infringement” and all!Let me guess, you also defend Nintendo whenever they go and shutdown fan games, ROM hacks, or even Rule 34, that aren’t even making any money off their characters or intellectual property, because, “B-But they’re just protecting their trademark!”. Which, to me, doing that sort of shit to your fans is on the same level as taking a crayon drawing someone made for you out of pure admiration or love, only to crumble it and burn it because you’re afraid that it somehow might make your drawings look bad in comparison. And as for Chris-Chan. Again, he wanted to make a full-on, mass produced, franchise involving Sonichu which, again, there’s a fairly big difference between that and some fans just selling off retired one-time made cosplays that were made on the side as a hobby or doing custom drawing commissions. Not like Chris-Chan just wanted to make money off of some plushes or figures, either. Chris-Chan wanted to full out make and mass produce games involving Sonichu- video games being an industry that both Sega and Nintendo are actually in. It’s further rubs people the wrong way when Chris-Chan also goes and claims that Sonichu is their completely %100 original creation, and how Chris-Chan seems to want to hold some copyright or trademark over Sonichu, instead of just admitting that it’s a fusion between Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu. I don’t see this as any different as Ken Penders deliberately trying to ride off of the coattails of Sonic with his, Lara-Su Chronicles, bullshit, yet he acts like his obvious Knuckles knock-off “Echyd'nya” are totally his very own %100 original creations. But sure, whatever. I totally just have some searing, blind hatred for Chris-Chan, and not just think that the person is goofy but mostly harmless(unless you’re a GameStop employee or Michael Snyder). And besides all of that, I think the Copyright laws out here- in the US- are a joke in general, anyway. There is so much grey and vague areas in them, to where it’s pretty easy for just about anyone with the money on hand to go and abuse it, if one wanted to.

Wilkes Comic Con
Heather Dean
Record Reporter
Gone are the days of traveling to the bigger cities to attend a comic convention dressed as your favorite comic book hero or Sci-Fi TV show personality. Wilkes County is now among the ranks of towns that have their very own day dedicated to all things “geek.” The entire building will be utilized for the day’s jam packed entertainment, featuring an artist’s alley, game tournaments in the Dragon’s Den gaming room, vendors, Awesomemania Pro Wrestling Fan Talk, and Divas Live “Salute to Superheroes!” Wilkes Playmaker’s Parody for Charity There will also be video game contests, a Doctor Who panel, and how-to seminars.
Holly Piotrowski, spokesperson for Wilkes Playmakers, officially announced that the Inaugural Wilkes Comic Con, will be Saturday, July 20, 2019. “We are incredibly excited to be hosting Wilkes Comic Con as a fundraiser for Wilkes Playmakers this year,” explained Piotrowski.
“This event brings together many elements of pop and geek culture,” Denis Lachapelle, the convention chair added.
Wilkes Comic Con will feature popular comic book artists, craft vendors, and comic book shops from around the region. Special guests include actor and pop culture artist Matthew Atchley from Strawberry Plains Tennessee; The Kilted Creature from Transylvania County NC, who plays the bagpipes and bass guitar, (whom you may remember as a special guest for the Annual Wilkesboro Halloween Parade), and artist Budd Root, creator of the independent comic book Cavewoman .
Guests are encouraged to attend in costume and participate in the cosplay contest.
The entire con is being livestreamed over the internet.
Convention Chair, Denis Lachapelle, a 20 year Wilkes County resident, has a background in management and IT field- yet he still found a way for his real passion, art, to come through. Lachapelle is the man behind the several mini-cons that have already been held- you may recall the Wilkes Mini-Con at the Wilkes County Library in January of 2014, which drew over 400 attendees with only twelve vendor/activity tables.
Lachapelle said “I started becoming active in local non-profits and charities, and began taking my hobby of cartoon art seriously, beginning Coffee Bruin Studios, where I specialized in fan art and cartoon bears. Together with my wife, we exhibited at the local open-air market and many of the local comic book conventions. I realized the need for a comic con in the area that focused on artists and creators. That event built several close friendships. Over the intervening years, many of us have tabled together at other comic book conventions, Two Tiger Moon Studios, Bear Butt Comics, Blaze Belushi, Klaws of Creation, Man Eating Cake, Robert Jenkins, Will Boyer, and William Withers, just to name a few. We said at that time that if the opportunity to ever have a larger con in Wilkesboro came up, we would do it.”
So when he was approached at the end of 2017 to organize a comic book convention as a fund raiser for the Wilkes Playmakers, he said he couldn’t refuse. “Wendy Harmon (Two Tiger Moon Studios) is based in Wilkes County, so she was my first contact. Wendy agreed to come on as Creative Director. Bailey Hutchens, who graduated with a degree in Applied Sciences focused in Video Game design in 2015, was brought on board as our Social Media Director. The three of us, combined with a great set of volunteers and supportive team from Wilkes Playmakers began planning the event.” Lachapelle said.
When asked what makes this con different from the other, his response was “A 214 Seat Theater! This gave us the opportunity to program events that allow for the entire community to participate. We have six great events scheduled throughout the day in our main theater.” That includes: “Superfriends Extravaganza!” featuring the cast of Divas Live paying tribute your favorite superheroes; “Parody for Charity” featuring Wilkes Playmaker veterans performing scenes from some classic sci fi, fantasy, and comedy movies featuring some special guests, and chances for audience participation; “Pro Wrestling Fan Talk” with a live discussion about WWE, AEW, Impact, ROH, New Japan, and more in the world of Pro Wrestling; And then the “Kilted Creature” Live on Stage mini-concert. More detailed panels of the day include: Story Structure in Games; A Plush Making Workshop; How to make a video game cabinet (Pi-cade workshop). Lachapelle will be co-hosting the Doctor Who panel.
Lachapelle says the two main goals for Saturday are for everyone who comes to have a great time, as they have worked hard for it to be a fun day for everyone, and to raise money for Wilkes Playmakers, who are going into their 29th year of providing arts and entertainment for the community. All of the proceeds from Wilkes Comic Con go to Wilkes Playmakers.
As a parting thought, Lachapelle mused “So, can we pull this off? Yes, we can. We have an amazing team, and we’re going to have a blast doing it. And then afterwards…next year…who knows? Stay tuned…”

The Cat Art Show: 'It's no f*cking joke'
Hundreds of self-proclaimed cat people gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night for the opening of Cat Art Show, a gallery of multimedia pieces that share one theme: love of cats.
Shannon Leigh, whose bright blue dress was printed with cats wearing smaller, brighter dresses, didn't expect an actual gallery of fine art when she first attended three years ago.
"I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of art here," Leigh said. "Like, this is a legit art show that just happens to be about cats."
A post shared by Dirty Lola (@scarlett_river) on Jun 2, 2018 at 8:34pm PDT
The fact that people pass off the show as some kind of niche event for "hoarder spinsters" strikes a nerve for Susan Michals, Cat Art Show's founder and curator.
"They think it's a joke," she bristled. "And that's something I've been up against for a long time, but it's no fucking joke."
And the show feels like a real art show because it is a real art show. Over 140 pieces were on display in the gallery. A bar served frosé and IPAs, and patrons dressed in sleek (although cat-themed) outfits posed for photos at a professionally lit booth. The show's 11-day run includes a variety of cat-themed events, from a lecture on "famous feline history" to a cat-themed burlesque performance by Vanessa Burgundy. (Who, by the way, said her choreography required thinking "out of the litter box.")
"I saw there was a misrepresentation, perhaps, of what it meant to be a cat lady," Michals said. She wanted to curate a collection that would marry pop culture's love of cats with the art world's emerging creators.
"Apollo and Garfield" by Tiffany Sage
Image: cat art show
The former journalist and current feline enthusiast started the show in 2014. Some of the pieces she curated for this year's show are political — like Rose Freymuth-Frazier's "Divine Intervention," which features a fluffy white cat pinning down a plush Trump with its paw. Others, as Michals describes it, "are simply an interpretation of our beloved."
And most of the opening night's attendees really, really love cats. According to Amy Douan, who wore a pink cat-printed dress for the occasion, "everyone should have at least two cats."
Douan is the proud owner of four, and would get more if her apartment could fit them.
The artists share a similar love for our feline friends. Casey Weldon didn't participate in last year's Cat Art Show because he had already launched a solo show in New York where all of his pieces were cat themed. He called cats the "ultimate symbol of ironic humor."
"It's a lot of fun to make creepy stuff and put a cat on it," he said. His collection was inspired by vintage Valentine's Day cards, but instead of sappy messages, the cat-themed Valentines have angsty lyrics from '80s rock songs.
A post shared by Casey Weldon (@caseyweldon) on Jun 12, 2018 at 9:35am PDT
Weldon isn't the only artist whose work revolves around cats — Scarlett River, whose painting of a cat dressed as a sad clown was inspired by her own cat named Chicken Lady, said she had a "heavily influenced cat portfolio." She added that cats are "the most fascinating, wonderful creatures" and laments that the public "has them all wrong." River also insisted that they experience human emotions like jealousy more than other animals do.
Dr. Paul Koudounaris, a historian and photographer, said cats can "serve as a muse in a way that other animals can't."
Describing cats as "enigmatic" and "sensual," Koudounaris pointed out that for 19th century poets, the pets were considered "necessary equipment for an artistic personality."
Michals agreed, pointing out how innately aesthetic the feline form is: "There's a certain beauty in the way they jump or curl up."
Koudounaris' portrait for Cat Art Show — aptly titled "Mewcifer" — is part of a collection of photographs featuring his cat dressed in different costumes. He's also writing a book from the perspective of his cat — for him, it's more than just a photo series, it's "an experiment in interspecies communication."
"Mewcifer" by Dr. Paul Koudounaris
Image: cat art show
"The bond between us was such that somehow it became a game where she realized she could please me," Koudounaris said when asked how he got his cat to wear a costume and pose for photos. "Just by my body movement or my posture, she knows what's working and what's not working."
The art show — and CatCon, a cat-themed convention that Michals also founded seeks to cultivate a community for cat lovers that they wouldn't normally get in real life. Since cats are such solitary creatures, most cat owners bond online through social media. At events like this, she said, "you've come together for your love of animals."
For Melissa Aaron, a cat enthusiast and professor, it's just fun to meet other cat people.
"If you have a dog, you can take them to the dog park," she said. "If you're a cat person, welp!"

Arthur Adams
Soruces: http://ift.tt/2wJiBrX
Arthur Adams, a self-taught artist, became a fan favorite when, at the age of 19, he left his job making pizzas for the masses to pencil the critically-acclaimed Longshot limited series, written by Ann Nocenti and published in 1985 by Marvel Comics. He has been in high demand as an artist since. Adams' highly distinctive and detailed artwork gained him considerable popularity amongst fans and editors, if not his inkers, and he's enjoyed being a cover artist, and the artist and sometime writer for miniseries, specials, and annuals. These days, in order to spare inkers the pain, his work is largely shot directly from pencils or inked by himself, with some exceptions. In his career, Arthur has worked on many titles, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, X men, Godzilla, Vampirella, Rocketeer, the Authority, Danger Girl, Excalibur, and the Hulk, to name a few. He also launched his creator owned, written, and drawn series Monkeyman and O'Brian in 1993 with Dark Horse Comics "Legend" imprint. He also had a ten-issue run on an anthology series featuring the character Jonnie Future. The eight page Jonnie Future stories appeared in Tom Strong's Terrific Tales (2002–2004). More recently, Arthur has been working on Ultimate X for Marvel Comics with writer Jeph Loeb, and issue one launched in 2010. Adams has provided cover images for issues of the Justice League of America, Appleseed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Green Lantern, Hulk, Avengers, X Men, Red Sonja, Superman, Batman, and Vampirella, among other titles. In addition to his work in comic books, he has also produced popular commercial art, such as numerous illustrations for trading cards, posters, shirts, and various other comics-related merchandise. Outside the field of comics, he has also provided illustrations for various magazines, movies, video games, and worked in toy design, packaging art, and even a series of X-Men-themed Campbell Soup cans. Arthur lives in Northern California in the woods somewhere, like his hero, Bigfoot. When told he should have a "Web" site he went outside and tried to spin his own web. It was funny and sad all at once. We got him back inside and gave him his medicine.
