I promised you all a map, so here is a map of Castle Town (for now)

Some descriptions of areas and an overview under the cut.

CASTLE TOWN

The largest city in all of Hyrule, and the only one not significantly damaged by the Mage War. It is separated into five color-coded "corners," each with their own function. Hyrule Castle is, of course, at the center. It has a rivalry with the second-largest city, Loomington, located in southwestern Hyrule.

Adventurer's Emporium: A one-stop shop for potions, shields, weapons, and anything one might need on a long trek through the Hyrulean wilds. Though most of its goods are of fine quality, they tend to be on the expensive side…maybe try one of those other stores first.

Mystic Violet Market: More of an event than an actual place of interest, but by most tourists it’s treated like one anyway. Merchants from all over Hyrule come here to buy and sell exotic wares, from enchanted stones to strange meats to rushroom oil and anything in between. Entertainers will squeeze in between stalls looking for a generous person to give them some rupees for their time. There are even some special games to play, like bombchu bowling and digging for treasure. After you get past all that glamour, wagons of fresh food from local farms, prepared food and snacks from bakeries and candy shops all across town are usually towards the back. Make sure to watch your purse, though: pickpockets love to sneak into crowds here.

Rogue Soldier Plaque: A large, decorated plaque commemorating the capture of Castle Town's first enemy after Rebirth, a renegade soldier that sacked buildings and burned them with his group of vagabonds.

Flowering Square: Some like to call this the prettiest part of Castle Town. Several years ago a well-respected member of town made it her mission to beautify the Red Corner with flowers cultivated from the nearby mountains, and this is the result of her efforts.

National Library: A large, ornate building with most of the records and knowledge to be had before Rebirth. It has large swaths of resources concerning magic, history, biology, architecture, engineering, and everything in between. Some of the greatest minds in Hyrule linger for long hours here studying, as well as printers transcribing some of the more popular tomes to be printed and sold. The library doesn't allow books to be taken out of its walls, and damaging or destroying an original copy is considered a great crime.

Old Prison: A dingy-looking collection of cells and a connected guardhouse with a small armory, one floor above-ground and the other below. Despite its humble appearance it's contained some of Hyrule's most dangerous criminals. Contrary to the name, this is actually a jail: ALT!Hyrule does not have prisons or a proper prison system.

Old Barracks: If soldiers from the nearby training camp don't have a place to stay, they can cheaply reside here, if they choose. After Rebirth, this was the place where the last remaining soldiers from the Mage War were found.

Magic College: A place of great learning for those interested in becoming mages! Students from all across Hyrule come here to study both magic and how to use it responsibly. The professors here are on the cutting edge of magic, always developing novel ways to apply it to everyday life.

Hyrule Castle: The epicenter of Castle Town, this mysterious building was attacked by Ganon twelve years ago, and it's where he was sealed away yet again by Zelda and the True Mages (or so they say.) Some of its many towers and nooks still remain hidden from the public eye.

Reformatory: To keep people off the streets and give them work to do, the True Mages have developed a system of rounding up the poor and sending them here until they have another place to stay. Despite the apparent good intentions of the project, it's rumored that the Reformatory doesn't treat its residents well.

Right my side lost and your side won. I am trying to understand but I want to know what is the big difference between the Progressives and conservatives? Why do Progressives piss off conservatives so much? We only want equality and fairness.

Thank you for the question. These questions are deceptively simple but they require somewhat complicated answers. I will try.

Oh, I am not just a conservative. I am a Constitutional Conservative which means that the Constitution is considered the supreme law of the land. It is the guide against which all legislation, taxes, regulations, and issues are judged. It applies equally to all and is therefore a protection for all. It can only be changed by amendment and is not subject to any foreign law or restrictions even those promoted by the UN.

Since I like checklists I will try to answer your questions in some kind of order.

Problem solving. When presented with a problem Conservatives try to solve it using known facts and reason. Progressives tend to use spending and regulation. I have never witnessed a Progressive try to solve a problem (Or perceived problem) in any other way than raising taxes or sponsoring legislation that further truncates our individual rights.

Control. Progressives seem to love control, either being in control or being controlled in every aspect of life. They want to tell or be told what people can own, how far people can succeed in life, what people can think, what people can eat, what people can drive, and lets not forget what people should do with the very money they earn. In that last one Progressives are content to confiscate wealth through taxes for redistribution to their liking. Conservative just want to be left alone. We want to keep most of what we earn, we want to enjoy our enumerated rights unfettered by social pressure or governmental overreach. We would like government to literally get the Hell out of our lives.

Lack of tolerance. When a progressive gets an idea they believe it to be so good that it must be shared with (Inflicted upon) others even at the point of a governmental bayonet. Socialism for instance, also limiting 2ND Amendment rights, private property rights, etc. Conservatives don't care what you want to do as long as we are left alone to do what we want to do. If you don't like guns, fine, don't own one. If you want to be a socialist fine, get fifty of your closest friends and create a commune, I wish you luck. Do what ever you like, just leave me and my rights alone.

Happiness. Conservatives seem to be relatively happy. Progressives aren't happy unless they are angry or upset about a situation that either happened over 100 years ago or is an isolated incident, or is just something with which they don't agree. Progressives aren't always right but they are always certain. In that pseudo certitude they are willing to trample any and all rights. Individuals be damned the cause is all.

The US is always wrong. No matter the issue Progressives will unerringly take the side of anything that goes against the US. Progressives will support despots, terrorist groups, rouge nations, and criminal politicians as long as those support the inherent anti US sentiment of the hard left. Conservatives acknowledge that the US makes mistakes, sometimes hideous mistakes but at our core we are generally damn good. For example, if Kamala had won you won't see too many Conservatives wanting to leave the US. We are Americans and will stay and fight to the last.

Equality. Progressive want an equality of outcome. A guarantee that all people will have the same success. They call this "Equity". Conservatives believe that equality means that all people will have a fair chance at success. That hard work, effort, and inventiveness will pay off. You can't ensure outcomes only starting points.

There are more but you get the idea. By the way, Progressives don't piss us off all that much, we just don't want you in charge.

Fate Chapter 02. — Zoro

Roronoa Zoro X OC X Trafalgar Law

The story tells about the encounter between Yuki with Straw Hat Pirates from different worlds and different eras.

After waking up, the first thing you see when open your eyes is a strange room. At first thought it was just a long dream, but nothing changed when you woke up and still in your room on the ship.

The bed was lined with old clothes given by Nami and Robin. There was a bed in the room, a wooden-designed wardrobe and table, and lights hanging from the ceiling. You can also feel the ship rocking slightly as it drifts on the sea.

You lay on the bed and watched the light flicker, "I'm not dreaming."

Suddenly you heard a loud shelling. You felt something was wrong and quickly got out of bed ran out of the room to see what was going on. You ran in the direction of Luffy's loud noise.

The ship is being attacked by cannons, causing the ship to keep shaking. You almost lose your balance but quickly hold on to the wall to maintain your balance. You see two large ships firing at "Thousand Sunny" Luffy's pirate ship, although it's lucky that they didn't hit the ship.

You are all pirates and criminals wandering the sea. You will inevitably encounter any surprises and enemies. Raid also includes the Marine, the World Government's maritime military force responsible for maritime law enforcement and naval warfare operations.

You see that it's Marine's ship that's attacking. Ussop and Chopper are panicking and hiding for cover, Luffy and Zoro are dealing with the cannonballs and Marine.

"It would be unbelievable if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes." You were shocked when you saw Zoro split the cannonball in half with his sword and then returned to Luffy. The splitting shell stayed in mid-air and exploded. You covered your face with your hands to avoid being hurt.

Sanji ran over and took your wrist. "It's dangerous here Yuki-chwan. Don't stand there and find cover!" Before you left with Sanji, you glanced back at the scene where Luffy and Zoro were fighting. You could do nothing but pray hope both of them safe.

Sanji took you to Nami's room for temporary shelter "I'm going to help outside, you two stay here first." Then Sanji left you and Nami then left the room.

You walked back and forth in the room, worried about their safety "I wonder what happened to them..."

"I'll get dizzy if you walk like this. Don't worry, they'll be fine. They'll be done with just a few small soldiers. Just glad it's not the general who takes action himself." Nami sat on a chair, flipping through the newspaper and crossing her legs.

"It happens every day?" You wonder what they go through every day.

Nami closed the newspaper immediately after hearing your question. "Almost every day. It's a daily routine for us. Just leave it to the three of them to deal with it and it'll be fine."

When you listen to Nami talk about, you stop "Really...?"

"I know you are worried about them. We are Nakama, trusting each other is the most important thing." Nami put her hand on your shoulder and smiled.

"I understand." You‘re feeling relieved.

There was a knock on the door and the two of you paused the conversation. You didn't know what the situation was like outside. It might be a Marine invasion. Nami picked up a weapon from the table waved her hand to tell you to take a few steps back. You understood and followed her instructions to step back a little.

Nami turned the doorknob then the door opened slightly. Suddenly a voice came out, "Nami-swannnnn~Yuki-chwannnn~Are you okay~"

You hear this familiar accent "Sanji!"

"Is everyone okay?" Nami put down her weapon.

Sanji proudly lit a cigarette. "Of course. The ship just a little damaged, nothing serious."

You smiled brightly, put your hands on your chest, and let out a sigh of relief as your heart settled down "Great, you're okay."

"Goddess, Goddess~!!" Sanji was so excited, nose started to bleed, he raised his hands and shouted.

Seeing how exaggerated and weird Sanji's reaction was, you and Nami looked at each other couldn't help but laugh. Sanji pressed his hands on chest saw you and Nami's beautiful faces. His heart couldn't stand it any longer.

"Is this paradise?" Sanji danced excitedly.

Nami tapped Sanji's head lightly, "Let's go and clean up. Yuki, change into some light clothes and come back."

You looked at your outfit ,you’re so anxious to run out that forgot to change into a clean set of clothes. You left Nami's room returned to own room. You picked up the clothes on the bed one by one and looked at them. You felt a little troubled.

In daily life, except for going to school and working, you wear a designated uniform. Almost all the tops you wear when going out on the street are simple T-shirts, a jacket, cropped pants or short skirts.

The temporary clothes that Nami and Robin gave you, they were all quite revealing. Thinking of Nami and Robin, most of their clothes show off their waists. Nami's outfit today is a bikini top paired with denim tights.

"I'm giving it all..." You sat cross-legged on the bed with sweat on your forehead, staring at the black bikini top and denim shorts.

You untied the bow of your school uniform, unbuttoned your shirt one by one, took off your shirt folded and placed it on the chair aside. Pick up the black bikini top and tie the straps around your body.

You took a towel and handed it to Zoro who was already wet. "Dry it quickly or you'll catch a cold."

"Cut him." Although Zoro just continued casually, he was exuding murderous intent.

Franky was moved after hearing what you said, "What a good girl."

"That's exaggerated, Franky." You laughed.

Brook picked up his guitar, "Ahem... Now that everyone is gathered together and welcome the new member Yuki-san, I will sing a song for everyone."

"Brook can sing?" You looked at the voice being prepared to start.

"Yuki-san, I am "Soul King" Brook, a musician and swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates." Brook said proudly, playing the guitar.

"What a cool skeleton!" Your eyes shine.

Brook started his performance singing a song with his guitar, everyone swayed and clapped to the rhythm of the music. It’s really nice to be able to listen to music performances so close. Usually you watch them on TV or on your mobile phone.

He finished his performance you immediately applauded enthusiastically and gave him an "encore!"

"Encore?" Brook was curious what you were talking about.

Picking up the cup, you prepared to leave but he still blocking the door. "Zoro, please make way."

He walked towards you, and felt a little impatient in his eyes. Subconsciously, you immediately started to step back and lean against the table. You held the cold drink in your hands and gulped, wondering what he wanted to do.

His hands were placed on the left and right sides of you on the edge of the table, and his left foot was between your legs. He was so close to you that he was literally right in front of your eyes.

When you first see him, he is a silent man who loves to drink. But when you get so close, you have to look up at him. He is really tall and powerful, with strong muscles and a scar on his eye that highlights his wild side.

"What did you do to Yuki-chwan!" Sanji bumped Zoro's head with his forehead.

Zoro bumped Sanji's forehead back without showing any signs of weakness, "Nothing done!"

"Are you kidding me? I see you have bad thoughts about Yuki-chwan." Sanji was annoyed.

Zoro replied unhappily to Sanji, "That's what you think!"

Suddenly someone hit them both on the back of the head with a fist, "Stop it, you two idiots!"

It's Nami! She gritted her teeth, raised her fist with her left hand showed a fierce look, and put her right hand on her waist. You took the drink and ran to hide behind Nami. You took a glance and saw that the two people had stopped arguing.

"What are you two idiots doing!?" Nami was extremely angry.

Sanji pointed his index finger at Zoro "This idiot Marimo is harassing Yuki-chwan!"

"I don't! Perverted chef!" Zoro pointed back at him.

It is conceivable that they really didn't get along with each other and started arguing again.Nami punched them twice to calm them down. Nami sighed and looked at you hiding behind him and asked, "Did Zoro harass you?"

I shook my head, Zoro didn't touch any part of your body. Zoro shook his head wordlessly, and Sanji looked stupid.

Nami clapped her hands, "Okay, since we have nothing to do, let's leave now. Sanji will prepare the ingredients for dinner, and Zoro go do your own thing." After explaining, she left.

Sanji was so angry and his right foot burst into flames, "Marimo..."

"Want a fight?" Zoro smiled evilly and held the scabbard, pushing the sword with his thumb to expose it.

You already think the special effects are cool when you watch Anime, but now you can actually see with your own eyes Sanji's feet can spontaneously ignite flames, and Zoro splits a cannonball in half with a samurai sword.

"Stop! Stop fighting!" You quickly ran to stop them both.

Sanji saw you running over quickly put out the fire "Yuki-chwan! It's dangerous!"

"Hey! You!" Zoro started to panic when he saw you running over.

"It's more dangerous than the two of you fighting! Idiot!" You closed your eyes and shivered, holding the cold drink and shouting.

You are timid and cowardly, but Zoro knows you are strong at heart. Even in a strange world, you still face it with a smile as usual. You are brave enough to take a step to stop them both. He glances at you and sighs, deciding to temporarily call a truce with Sanji. Otherwise he will accidentally hurt you.

Sanji felt extremely relieved when he noticed the cute and timid appearance now. He really couldn't bear to make you sad now,so he chose to stay calm and not argue with Zoro about things.

You opened your eyes to peek, "Are you guys going to stop arguing?"

Zoro snickered, "Idiot. Don't rush out like this next time." After that he left.

"Idiot Marimo, how dare he call Yuki-chwan idiot! But for the sake of Yuki-chwan, I won't care about that Marimo." Sanji took out a cigarette and lit it.

"Phew...that's great." You smiled slightly.

Sanji suddenly grabbed your hands with both hands. "Yuki-chwan really can't rush over suddenly next time. It's dangerous." His expression was very nervous.

You nodded to show you understood.

Sanji gently touched your head, "You are so good Yuki-chwan~" Although he had a cigarette between his teeth, he still smiled at you.

The warm scene was interrupted by Sanji suddenly got a nosebleed and was startled. You panicked and started to run to find Chopper but Sanji pulled to stop you.

He took a clean handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the nosebleed. Your nervous and panic reaction made his heart melt completely, his heart was beating fiercely all the time.

"Sanji?" You tilted your head and looked at him.

He regained consciousness and subconsciously let go of your hand, "Sorry."

"Want me to help with dinner?" You asked politely.

"Leave the work in the kitchen to me. Yuki-chwan, just stay tuned." Sanji put out his cigarette.

Sanji had already started to take out a sharp kitchen knife to prepare ingredients for dinner. You took the cold drink and went back to find the others. You saw Nami and Robin discussing something, and they immediately waved to you when they saw you.

"You've been busy all afternoon. Do you want to take a shower together?" Robin invited you.

"We can have dinner after taking a shower~" Nami stretched.

"Okay." You happily followed them to the bathroom.

You walked to the bathroom together, immediately took off all the clothes and soaked your bodies in the bathtub. All the fatigue you felt disappeared at once, as if you had become one with the bath water.

Sanji brought the fragrant food to the table. Luffy smelled the smell and rushed to grab it, but was stopped by Franky. Everyone was sitting at the dining table waiting for before starting. Only Luffy was drooling.

Luffy murmured and shook his feet impatiently, "Neh... Where are Nami and the others?"

"They taking shower together." Chopper told Luffy.

"Taking a shower together?!" Sanji and Brook yelled.

The two of them imagined the three of you naked taking a bath together, playing in the bathtub, touching each other's bodies and other obscene thoughts.

"The three ladies who caused the crime." Sanji spoke with a serious expression.

"I want to help them brush their backs," Brook said frankly.

"If Nami hears what you two said definitely will be beaten." Ussop added.

When Zoro recalled that your upper body was only wearing a bikini top and shorts, he almost lost control in the kitchen just now, he didn't know why he felt this way.

The image of you sweating kept recurring in his mind, the sweat dripping from your hair slowly sliding from your collarbone to between your breasts. He admitted that you were really erotic but he still resisted the urge.

"It smells so good!" A female voice came from behind.

You, Nami and Robin changed your clothes after taking a shower and walked to the dining table to find others. Not far from the dining table, you can smell the delicious food cooked by Sanji.

Chopper waved from his seat and jumped up. Looking at his cute appearance, you happily ran over to pick him up with your hands and hold him high. He is as innocent, lively and cute as a child, reminding you of the past inadvertently.

You put Chopper back in his place, you saw an empty seat next to Zoro and sat down. Zoro took a sip of wine and glanced at you briefly to see that you were tying a high ponytail with a hair tie.

Look at you again in the off-shoulder top with a one-line neckline, exposing your collarbones and shoulders. He smelled a faint floral scent. The strange thing is that this scent can be smelled on Nami or Robin every day, but it is extra special to have this scent on you.

Luffy snatched a piece of meat and put it in his mouth to chew, "Let's eat!"

Zoro came back to his senses when he heard Luffy's yell, otherwise he would have really fallen deeper and deeper. Maybe it's because of your identity makes you particularly attractive that he has an undue desire for you.

He couldn't figure out why so he chose to give up thinking and just put a bottle of wine into his mouth and started drinking. You were shocked because it was as simple as seeing how strong he was drinking, as if the bottle of wine was just boiled water.

Remembering Luffy's huge appetite, you quickly grabbed some food put it on your plate before he finished eating. You are very happy now and it is really wonderful to be able to live a harmonious life with everyone.

Hudson and Rex S04E16 - Dog Days Are Over - Part C

More than fine, if that takedown towards the end of the episode is any indication.

Sadly, I never paid too much attention to what exactly Scofield's deal was. Apparently the place he was in was like an off-the-books shelter? And Joe did not report the lady who was running it, so that she could keep doing it.

This, I actually attribute to the fact that Charlie wasn't at his best. He didn't give the guy a second glance.

I still remember my disbelief that this was happening right then and there after I'd re-calculated and set my expectations accordingly mid-season because no way these idiots would be able to get their shit together in a few episodes.

I really like the hesitation before he speaks again, he makes it very obvious that it's difficult for him to come clean.

I'd have worked something else in there. I mean, the performances are good but I'd have written some more. Maybe something less passive too. Also, "want" is not what I'd have used. Or a generalization.

Having said that, if I was in Sarah's shoes, I don't know if I'd have received well the fact that he waited until she was with Michael to make a move either way. I've said it before. Okay, this is a story and with it come certain liberties, for example if the writers say that there's a couple that's meant to be and I'm not referring to this situation specifically, then they're meant to be and the audience has to go with it. But in real life when a guy waits until you get in a relationship with someone else to reveal his feelings, he's probably taken for granted that you'll always be available for him. Anyway, this is a reason why it's good that we see more Charlie's point of view than Sarah's because we can tell it's not that but also like I mentioned before, it does a disservice to Sarah because we don't know what she's thinking a lot of the time.

She's trying to decide which one of them is the bigger idiot.

Yes, of course, I believe you, darling. He made such a pause before saying Michael, maybe he wanted to say something like "that lucky bastard".

I would not have appreciated him bulldozing my life like that at this point when he had stayed silent for so long. Just saying. I'd have cussed him out at least.

The music in that scene was great.

lol sorry but this is funny. And it's also awkward because it's all done in the precinct, in the middle of the bullpen in fact, like imagine if Michael got angry and started yelling. Some people would have gossip fodder for weeks.

"Is there someone else..." Let's just say that your initial instincts were right, Michael.

The transition after "is there someone else" is the exact same one used from S02E18 when the wife of Sarah's professor asks her if there is a boyfriend.

Cue the pining fool (affectionate). Don't worry, you won't have to suffer for long. Unlike us who still had to suffer for months.

She came! Well, for the audience after the previous scene there's no question whether Sarah would appear there. But Charlie didn't know that. There's a question of how she would know. Maybe Charlie spends a lot of time there when he's sad? It's certainly a great view. And snowy! I love it, really. I love that Rex is there as well.

Of course I would have loved for them not to leave us on a cliffhanger because I totally spent the next five months considering various ways they could screw it up since they hadn't made anything certain. Again, while it's a quite famous show it's a relatively small production (if you were to compare it to your average internationally successful crime show, that is) so for me there are no guarantees and no "they will do this because it's been done this way". I can make a few relatively safe assumptions, like when they started the season that way, I could make the assumption about where they were headed and be quite confident about it, but there are no certainties. I think I've talked before about the season hitting certain plot points that were indicative of where Charlie and Sarah would end up.

I would have been surprised if they actually didn't go there after all this, though. Aside from my shippy heart which would have been shattered (yeah I'm being dramatic), there would have been obvious questions like, what were you doing all this for? However, if they'd started S5 by tentatively going towards them being a couple while not having them be a couple, I'd be satisfied with that too. Certainly, when one of them has already confessed their feelings and the other breaks up, you can't exactly go back to them being just friends with no explanation.

One thing that I will distinguish for this season? For the first time, we didn't end up at the same point we started. That was a nice change as for the last three seasons the only thing that would progress was Charlie and Rex's partnership which mostly happened because John Reardon and Diesel became more familiar with each other and could play off of each other better. As always, I would have liked an arc with a big bad but I'm coming to terms with the fact that it will never happen. I would have liked Charlie's actions to be explored more and into something other than "I'm acting out because the woman I like is with someone else". He's been through a lot in the span of a few seasons. It's not unrealistic to have issues from his experiences on the job. Besides, everyone was at one point or another worried about him. In the season finale everyone was worried about how he was taking the case and about his judgement but then this is magically resolved because he gets together with Sarah and we forget everything.

I liked the moments of tension in this season most of all. I never thought I'd miss that because in a regular crime show, there's usually a lot of that between characters. But yeah, Hudson and Rex needed these moments. And it doesn't have to be manufactured drama, when people work with each other all day, there's bound to be some friction.

I'm looking forward to S5, even though it's long as hell lol

All this Charlie and Lucifer conflict feels so fake and thrown in for drama points. Because it's hard for me to sympathize when watching two characters who barely have any hardship in their lives, imitate having to go through hardship. That's why I kinda rolled my eyes at "More than anything" part of the episode. No tears whatsoever

The whole daddy issues problem doesn't even make sense from a realistical stand point. You both are non aging, powerful (although Charlie refuses to use her powers, but they are clearly there) beings who barely have any problems in your lives. You were even spared from the exterminations, even though Heavens could have easily disposed of a fallen angel and his off spring a long time ago! (and Charlie just had to abuse that generosity) Everything is just dandy, lots of viewers of Hazbin hotel would kill for a life like that. Sinners who get killed can f*ck themselves. They are criminals, after all

Lucifer, I understand being upset the first few years after your wife left. But seven years? Wouldn't that get old? When you are a powerful being who has an already grown up daughter who doesn't need to rely on you, unlimited resources and his own kingdom (that he got for screwing up humanity, mind you)? Overkill much. Just find yourself a new love or go fix your damn hell ring and maybe ensure that rapists actually go to the boiling pot instead of owning a glamorous business to thrive on

Charlie is less guilty than her father, as he did ignore her and failed to teach her basic skills of standing up to herself and ruling a place. If a rich guy fails his kids that way, he's trash, because like, dude you've got resources and time, just use them to do bare minimum for your child. So Charlie's problems with running the hotel make sense (even though if she truly was passionate about helping someone, she would have made an effort to plan it out more properly so that the redemption doesn't happen by accident in a damn war)

That way, Lucifer's complaints about his life make me want to just roll my eyes. Even back in heaven he had one job of not giving the humans the damn fruit, I sincerely doubt that he, as one of the seraphims had no idea of the consequences of that. If he didn't wreck up his siblings' work, he would have still be living in Heaven. And, as I mentioned earlier, he didn't even get punnished properly for the fruit incident - wings still intact, all his powers and the ability to just magic up any goods out of thin air or to defend himself against a freaking angelic exorcist, let alone sinful criminals, is still there. So what's the problem?

Generally, what stops both Lucifer and Charlie from communicating/meeting each other? They never had any sort of fight that would have made their relationship truly sour, and Lucifer is not a heartless calculating abusive father he was believed to be in the pilot era. Charlie is barely loaded with the hotel work, she basically just plays trust games with sinners, and that's all

They like, stay away from each other when they have no reson to and then whine about it. Duh, some irl families who are actually struggling with life and actually have little time and vital strength do communication better than a fking rich magical seraphim and his daughter

And yes i'm jealous of a cartoon fallen angel. In canon biblical lore, Lucifer is actually punished for his actions. But not this Lucifer. You say Adam is spoiled? And least with him there's a possibility that he had to survive on Earth and go through some serious crap before earning his place on Heaven. Lucifer meanwhile can shelter himself in his castle for 7 years wasting time making ducks and be just fine! I even dare say, he fakes his depression because he thinks it's cool or smth. Put the guy on a minimum wage job and other difficulties of a normal human life, and the pussy'll just die

Okay, listen– Listen! Seeing videos like this I can’t dislike Ran, she’s a strong and powerful female character. She’s badass and she’s iconic and an inspiration for little girls. (Not kidding.)

She can fight, she powers through, she can knock down guys like houses of cards. She is a certified badass woman and inspiring both due to her femininity combined with her martial arts proficiency. Because she is feminine and still wipes the floor with your average criminal.

She is whiny at times, pining for “her” Shinichi but that’s fine, I can handle a whiny main girl and strong lead woman character if they are one and the same.

I am not much of a fan of her pining and her getting whiny/ crying for Shinichi every chance she gets. Still, I respect her as a strong female character.

However, towards the end of the video… those are the scenes why I – personally – consider ShinRan to be toxic and borderline abusive.

I had originally posted this in a reblog on my KID movie poll but finding this video gave me an incentive to make it its own post.

Aside from this video, one example is the after-credit of movie 3 with Ran straight-up threatening to physically abuse Shinichi. Like, folks, that’s my main reason I dislike her.

Ran started out as a strong female character, which is awesome, but over the years she descended to 1) “Save us, Shinichi!~” and 2) physically abusive

I get that she’s whiny at times and while I generally dislike whiny characters (see Martin from TMA), I can handle that

I can handle the Main Girl(tm) being whiny and pining for Shinichi

But that drive to keep her a strong female character who needs no man lead to her being increasingly physically abusive. She cries and pines, fine.

But then Shinichi does show up and what does Ran do? Either first thing, she hits him for being away for so long. Or she slaps/ hits him when he tells her he has to go back to his case and can’t stay. I understand her upset, I understand her pining.

Nobody has a right to vent their upset through physical abuse, though.

But a girl who can knock down a lamp-post, who can kick a man trough a window, ESPECIALLY has no right to raise her hand against her love-interest!

That’s one of the first things every martial art ever teaches you, do not resort to violence if there is even a sliver of another safe option.

I get that Kogoro knocking Conan about was played for shits and giggles, it’s a thing of that time when the manga/ anime started out. And accordingly Ran venting her upset through physical violence also was a product of that time and result of portraying her as the strong/ physically tough lead girl.

But she is his love interest for crying out loud and among many other scenes the after-credit of movie 3 emphasises that Shinichi is scared of her hitting him as soon as he gets back.

That’s not funny!

Physical abuse is not funny. And a strong female character directing physical abuse at her no-show love interest doesn’t make it funny.

My main ship always has been and always will be KaiShin. But I also know that would never become canon because DCMK doesn’t do queer. It’s “kid-friendly”, it can’t do queer.

But for goodness’ sake do I wish – desperately wish – the Main Couple became MasuShin instead. Masumi is on-par with him, she’s quick-witted, she’s silly, I love her queer vibes, and she understands/ encourages Shinichi every step of the way.

That’s another thing! Ran despises Shinichi’s work. It’s a common motive in fanfic (hence played up) that she forbids him from taking cases. But her dislike for his work – his passion his calling – is there.

I just can’t see ShinRan be healthy. And that opinion hasn’t changed in the 14 years I have been watching Detective Conan.

I also want to clarify that I am not basing my opinion off the movies (alone), in fact, any DCMK movie outside the KID movies, movie 3 specifically, and movie 18 onwards, I haven’t watched in years. I am referencing movie 3 specifically because I recently watched it but this behaviour certainly is in the anime/ manga/ canon as well. The London Arc, that restaurant date in a skyscraper where he stood her up and Conan had to apologise (which also got used for an opening/ ending), the early episodes where Shinichi makes a comeback, the “Murder Suspect: Kudo Shinichi�� Arc where he hides from Ran, and that’s just off the top of my head because I was on a fandom-hiatus for around 2 years and don’t care enough for ShinRan to rewatch these things.

I’m so sorry (sarcasm) that I didn’t provide receipts for my critique of Ran. But I’m also not about to go through the series for the entire purpose of making an itemised list of Ran abusing/ hitting Shinichi. If I do a rewatch from the early episodes on, I might keep a notepad handy and jot down the instances of Ran smacking Shinichi but don’t hold your breath because I tend to avoid the romance-heavy episodes in general, no matter the pair.

So we know about the darker, realistic parts of your fic, but how about the softer, more loving parts? As in, what parts do you like, and what parts do you want to see more of?

Let me preface by saying some of my own favorite moments between the characters haven't been published yet.. 🔥👀 So stay tuned~

As for the General stuff:

The main thing I love about the series in general, and bake into CGaL is how much those cats love each other but not only that, they're loved by many in their neighborhood as well.

People can sigh and moan about their antics all day, but there's a sense of community amongst the residents of Precinct 13. And they ain't gonna take some punkass criminals harming their communal cats lyin' down.

I have a lotta fun reading old articles and interviews on TC because everyone always agrees on how soft-hearted T.C. remains in spite of everything. Of course I think everyone’s entitled to write these characters in their stories however they interpret them but like, I'll admit there’ll be this part of me who’ll side-eye anyone who writes T.C. as 'mean' by default because I have no idea where they got that from lol XD The gang owns him. And Benny's the best one at approaching him especially with the Big Asks that they know he'll keep rejecting until he eventually cracks.

T.C.'s both intelligent and likable, a deadly combo if he was THAT kinda guy. And unlike many other cats in the city, he can survive on his own. He technically doesn’t really need other cats on the long run. But that’s not what the gang’s about for him. He’d probably get things done a lot faster by himself and he'd be super light but he’s ridiculously soft for his boys. They make plans more complex and they're literally dependent on him but they're everything to him.

(Side note, it’s both extremely funny and extremely endearing to me how the first thing T.C. will do for anyone joining the group is to feed them. Literally. He’ll make a fine Italian grandma one day )

In spite of everything, T.C. genuinely likes Dibble and considers him a part of their lives, and someone ‘replacing’ him is out of the question, like the situation with Prowler. Anyone badmouthing Dibble is a walking red flag and is immediately on T.C.'s list of 'snakes'.

It's what Dibble does and represents that complicates things. T.C. flouts the law and sees it as a blind tool that only makes some people stronger and others more invisible and forgotten. Dibble has to be professional, unbiased and do his job with integrity, but boy, is it hard sometimes. He can't help but love the gang almost to the point of irrationality and it's thanks to his great reputation that his more astute colleagues don't hold this over his head or take advantage of it.

Needless to say, Dibble doesn't have the same hang-ups as T.C., and is much more open with his emotions.

As the story progresses, it'll become clearer that life on the streets shaped T.C. and G.P. very differently. One’s greatest desire is to have a close family and live freely, and the other’s is to never have to feel invisible and powerless again

Some Specific moments:

G.P. didn't truly get it, what it does to T.C. when he threatened Spook's life. Happened in Chapter 6, will probably happen again later at a worse scale, because by then he knows how much it affects him

T.C. and Benny's closeness, physically and emotionally especially during the hospital stay

Although not mentioned outright in the story, T.C. absolutely loves Tony's elderly parents. Staying with the man at the family home for a month also just massively grew his affection for Tony

Dibble and T.C. on the bridge. Dibble growing even more fond of T.C. and genuinely wanting to understand where he comes from

T.C. absolutely NOT having it when Saber tried to drag Spook's name into a murder he didn't commit. He was pissed, knowing a dozen cops were listening in on the other side of the window

With both Spook and Choo Choo gone, and him blowing up at Fancy, T.C. feels an obligation to keep it together, for Benny and Brain, but the stress and the feeling of powerlessness was becoming debilitating. Dibble had to hold up a mirror to his face metaphorically speaking to show him how he was cracking under the pressure and not really helping anyone. T.C. couldn’t deny it any longer and had to accept his help

I am so so tired of the complaints about "x characters fans" and like "how could you thing x character [thing it's pretty reasonable to expect a lot of fans to think if you've been in any fandom before or paid attention to the source material]. In general I'm a pretty live-and-let-live person in fandom, I stay in my lane and don't flip out if someone engages with a story in different ways than me, or gets something different out of it. If they're really annoying on my posts I block and move on, and if I need to kvetch I make my own post. But like... idk I find complaining constantly about how other people engage with a story or with characters to be kind of stupid. On the one hand, how is anyone surprised that villains tend to attract followings? Are you new here? Where did we lose you? On the other hand, it shouldn't be shocking that a lot of people who latched onto the protagonist and the main canon ship and don't care to explore the ways in which the antagonist also had points. personality-wise i'm meticulous about structure, keeping organised etc and like to make sure i have multiple different plans in place for everything but if it comes down to it i can make sound decisions if i have to improvise and be spontaneous. i grew up as the only child so i'm used to figuring things out on my own and i generally have a stiff upper lip that obliges me to stay independent (no agonising personal lore or anything it's just the way i am). i have a somewhat sarcastic sense of humour and can warm up to people and enjoy banter easily and i like to think i have jokes 😌✨ but i'm an introvert who recharges by spending time on my own. i consider myself to be fairly efficient and one of my favourite things in the world is the feeling of contentment at the end of a productive day.

i do quite a few sports, incl. track and field, clay target shooting, sailing, golf, tennis, baseball and basketball. my hobbies include reading and writing (the given ones considering we are all here), backpacking, playing the guitar, learning new random skills, going out for walks/jogs while listening to music, beating friends who don't know how to play chess at chess and the occasional pub crawl. i sometimes sing but i have very limited range.

Okay the second I read this I knew I was going to match you with Ron. Either him or Lewis, but I can see so many similarities between the two of you.

first of all I feel like your features being a similar colour would make you look so good together. Ron is fairly tall himself, I’m assuming around 6ft, so he’d still be taller than you.

I feel like he’d be a lover of your height, I’m assuming you have long legs and he’d fine that superrrrr sexy, like he has to try his best not to check you out during PT sessions.

I feel like Ron would first see you when you’re jogging or on a run, maybe training or doing Currahee. Arcane Legacy Challenge

This isn't the best challenge ever created but I couldn't easily find another legacy challenge themed around the TV series Arcane and I really wanted to play one - so here is one I made myself!!

Feel free to revamp, make graphics, etc., just credit me if you stay quite similar to my pre-existing prompts (no need if you're changing nearly everything, though)

-Mods are allowed, I love mods and would never want you to go without if you also play with them!

-Money cheats are allowed in getting/building a house at the start, needs cheats are allowed specifically with infants and other Sims while there are infants in the household because they're buggy as all hell or if you're playing with 5+ sims and aren't used to it, try to keep other cheats to a minimum though. Also, cheats for storytelling reasons are all fine :)

-Sims are allowed to move house unless otherwise specified, I know how crowded it can get in legacy households and not everyone has MCCC to increase household size

-Lifespan can be any length: I recommend normal but choose whichever you like best!

-You can choose your own heirs, though some prompts may leave you with only 1 option

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling this in the sense that...no, I'm not Just my field, and in fact I try very hard to remind people of that, both on here and in general. Like, love my field, devoted to my field, etc. etc., but it's not the be all, end all of Me, and in fact you get a very limited image of me if you just think of me as an Academic™ or as a Medievalist™ or even as a Mythographer™ or a Celticist™ (both of which are terms that are personally more dear to me than the former two). If I quit academia tomorrow, I like to think that my basic sense of identity would be intact even if it was shaken.

But also...and this is perhaps criminal....I LIKE my job beyond my marketable skills. I love my subject matter, I love being able to travel, I love being able to teach. I love my students, I love having a captive audience while I talk about things that I love and hopefully getting them to love it as well or, at the very least, get a couple of laughs from them. I like going to conferences, I like meeting up with my friends from elsewhere. And if I left academia....beyond asking friends for things...poof. No more conferences, since I couldn't afford going to Europe multiple times a year without a department to back me up. No more books that cost hundreds of dollars from the school library, or heavily discounted books at conference prices. No more access to books that are out of print and nigh impossible to find ANYWHERE.
