reclassing Shadowheart into a cleric again, but healing domain instead was the best choice I've made in baldys.
#imo#invoke duplicy fucking sucks#such a garbage ability#especially when she can just bless instead#and enemies can destroy the double#and this is from someone whose played 80 hours of early access the past two years#and you couldnt reclass in that#so i defo tried to make trickster domain work#but#no#is my answer to that#:]

i dont know why but i cant play through echoes in one go at all like i did with awakening and fates, like the first few days i played for hours straight but once i put it down i just. couldnt be bothered anymore... why is this???
I think Echoes is a lot more like a traditional JRPG than most recent FE games--player choice is pretty immaterial in character class and supports, and particularly in supports there’s so few of them that it’s hard to get sucked in to the characters. IMO part of the success of Awakening and Fates is that the games sucked you in by letting you do more; from reclassing to supports, you could unlock tangible content in just one more map. Echoes doesn’t really have that.
I’ve seen a lot of Reddit threads like “ugh these newfags only played FE to ship and they’re crying that they don’t have their dating sim any more” but those posters are wildly missing the point that stuff like the player crafting the story they want to read via supports is, you know, fun. It’s engaging. It’s nice that Echoes has more supports than Gaiden itself (as in, more than zero) but it’s really not enough to fill the void when it comes to interactivity and especially replayability.

My Renown Grinding Team
Less than 7000 to go, I thought I’d take a break and show off my team since I dont think ive done it yet. Its not the most exciting, I picked who I used based getting armsthrift on as many people as possible with the smallest use of second seals as I could. And most everyone has the same skills too, but whatever, its still fun to look at those big green numbers on their stat screens:
I used the renown second seal to make him mercenary to get him armsthrift asap. Had to change the name of the Levin Sword to its Gaiden counterpart to fit the Tobin theme.
Still not the biggest fan of the bride class. Dread Fighter is such a cool class, I wish girls got something badass too. But its a way to give her unlimited reclassing without using second seals so Bride it is. She still kills everything just as well as the boys at any rate, so I cant complain. Especially with her super crit special weapon. I used the second second seal I got in an anna shop to make her Mercenary for armsthrift. She was also the first unit to cap every stat.
Not much to say here. I took breaks every few circuits of grinding to run infinite regalia until I got his Ragnell. Before that he used the Mjolnir just because it was there.
I used the first second seal from anna shops to make him mercenary. As you can see I was never able to come up with a good name for his celicas gale. Oh well.
Hes called the Mad Dog so thats how I got the weapon name. I think it fits him too since he uses a magic sword in Blazing Blade. If a bolt axe was in Blazing Blade I think he would use it.
Self-explanatory I think.
I used the third second seal from anna shops to make him mercenary. Despite being a hero he doesnt come with armsthrift so he requires a second seal to get it, sadly. unlike the other spotpass characters who I chose because they came with armsthrift, I could have picked anyone for slot on the team. I picked Alm because Echoes hype really. I named the pugi Forbidden because no good guys are allowed to use axes in Valencia thus its forbidden. I couldnt think of anything better, basically.
Chloe got really scared when she saw his portrait while I was playing. It is a bit off putting now that I think about it. Nothing else really to add.
Nothing to say here either except its extremely silly to see Malice as a Bride. since shes using the Gradivus I like to imagine she tricked evil Hardin into marrying her then stole the Gradivus and ran away with it on their wedding day. It makes about as much sense as anything else.
Im not using him anymore because none of the maps have enough slots, but he was on the team until a third second seal anna finally appeared to let me replace him with Alm. The unbreakable weapon was nice to tide me over but I really need it to be unbreakable and 1-2 range to make battles go as quickly as possible.

Awakening Auto Battle Only Playthrough Part 8: The End! (and some final thoughts)
What an adventure! Im so happy Gregor made it all the way through to the end. Heres the final team going into endgame:
I believe they are all on their second time through these classes. Robo-Robin’s stats sure are weird, I didnt realize until now. Oh, but there was one other friend who went into (and survived!) the final battle:
Sharp eyes readers might have noticed that Chrom has the Skill +2 skill. I thought that was a better compromise than giving him dread fighter which seemed too op to me plus the xenologue would give a lot more levels to my 3 robots than the one where you get Skill +2. So I did that xenologue which put him at level 20 so I could reclass him back to Great Lord level 1, then I did the tiki paralogue (she died, obviously) to give him (and the other 2) some more levels and that was enough to kill Walhart 1st form after only a few tries. The rest of the game went pretty smoothly, most chapters I beat on my second or third time, and a few in one try. After Walhart I had all tonics on all 3 for every chapter, and winning or losing was a matter of Chrom getting enough Aethers. Gregor always got the Sol’s he needed and Nosfera-er, Robo-Robin, was always in top shape. Endgame took an annoyingly long time because I couldnt direct people away from reinforcements and towards Grima but it was overall easier than Walhart1. I was very happy that Gregor was the one to wander towards Grima and take her out, he certainly deserved it.
Final thoughts on the run:
It was a lot of fun until Gangrel died and then it was just ok. So structurally not all that different from any Awakening run but it certainly played differently and involved different strategies. Its worth giving a shot if you are bored and you want something different. Im curious as to how different an auto run would be both on casual and in Fates, and I might try those eventually. Finally, it gave me a new appreciation for both Gregor and Flavia, both of whom deserve more love from the fandom in my opinion.
