infatuation on a mutual level by @harrygoeswest i really loooved this one by katie its so lovely and sweet and fun, i read it in one sitting i was truly hooked, i can't find a way to link her other stories in one go but check them out they're all great!!!

cloudbusting by @starsstruck is one of my all all time faves, i re-read it often. its such a lovely story with really interesting characters and a really lovely love story that makes you want to scream in the best way possible. charlotte has a way of writing really palpable chemistry, i can't find a way to link a masterlist of hers but one of her shorter fics blue dream is one of my faves as well

MAIN 4 X EMPLOYER READER

Employers normally don’t directly intervene with the world of Nevada and refrain from doing so, with the exception of the Auditor and you of course! Although the rest of the employers advised against getting involved with the mortal world, you and Auditor had a different view. Both wanted to make Nevada a safe place again, well, with different actions each. While the Auditor planned on taking down local menace Hank J. Wilberton, he wasn’t opposed on what the Nevadian society has built for themselves (even if it was with blood). You on the other hand, The Administrator, is repulsed by Hank and the criminal factions created by the mortals, and invests on a anti-violence utopia where everyone lives super happy and free. Your plans were obviously unlikely to work, madness ran on grunt’s veins, to think that Nevada would work on any other way is stupid and as an employer, you should know that. Yet you tried, influencing grunts to join your peace movement and live a violence-free life.

You were in your office, overlooking a grunt putting “peace revolution” posters on the walls. You were proud of this dude, you reached out to them and gave them the job of spreading your word, they have been a great so far! You haven’t noticed though, a portal opening on the other side of your office. Three little grunts fell off of it, falling on the floor with a loud thud. You haven’t heard a thing, since you were with your ear buds on.

As the grunts got up, they looked at their surroundings.

“Ugh were are we??”

Sanford said while holding his pained arm,

“I don’t know, it looks like a office of some sorts”

Doc pounders, taking notice of propaganda posters on the wall, manually drawn.

“Maybe we should ask that employer over there, they definitely won’t kill us bru- AAGH-“

Deimos was interrupted by a fourth grunt landing by feet on his back.

“DAMN HANK WARN US WHERE YOU LAND THE FUCK”

“Shut up you two,”

Doc was looking at the employer on the computer, who until now hadn’t addressed the group.

“This might be the Administrator, I’ve worked with them, they might be of help”

“Yea they might but how will we get their attention? they didn’t even give us a glance and we are talking out loud!”

“They got airpods on.”

“Fuck.”

Sanford and Doc pounder on how they could get your attention while Deimos tries to get up, now with a very wounded back as Hank fails to not find it funny. Sanford helps his buddy up, soon having a idea.

“Hey! Remember when you were working on reforming the med-bay some months ago and Deimos managed to get all of the construction workers enraged and they refused to finish it unless Deimos was out or dead?”

“Unfortunately.”

“Deimos could use his loudness and try to annoy the employer to notice us”

“HELL, to the NO.”

Deimos screeched, terrified

“I’m not going to serve as bait and get KILLED!!”

“Death means nothing Dei c’mon! Doc can patch you up!”

“If anything of me is left for that..”

“Deimos, the Administrator is harmless, there is nothing you should fear.”

Doc said as he ushers Deimos towards the gigantic employer.

“Then why not YOU go there??”

“Because if you are the only one who can wake up heavy sleeper Dave, you can get the attention of a distracted employer.”

“Tch fine.”

Deimos walked towards the employer, thinking how he could get the attention of this big creature while Doc, Hank and Sanford observed. Deimos tried calling out to you and shanking your calves to no avail, he started kicking them but it had no effect on you. Deimos tried shouting, climbing your calves and then biting it. Doc face slapped. But to everyone’s surprise you tsked and picked Deimos by the scruff of his neck, placing him on your lap.

“Hm? Learned how to climb? That’s so sweet”

You start petting Deimos head, without taking their eyes off of the screen.

“Uhh.. guys??”

You thought he was your cat. Doc approached the scene with a very amused Sanford, Hank goes exploring the giant’s room.

“Aw look at you Dei! Having the time of your life!”

“This is not funny! Someone get me out!”

Deimos was clearly enjoying it tho, never experiencing affectionate touch ever, he looked like he was about to doze off, snuggling on the employer’s thighs. But soon the Administrator started feeling Deimos’s clothes, picking up on his visor. You looked down and noticed it was not your cat.

“What?? What are you doing here??”

You were entirely confused, picking the grunt up and bringing them to your face, no answers would come out of them though because the grunt was fast asleep due to the comfortable petting session. Looking at your feet, there were two other grunts waving up at you. You got off of your chair and squat down to their level, recognizing one as the leader of the SQ, the man you and the other employers recruited to destroy Project Nexus. You take off your earbuds and place Deimos delicately on the ground next to the bunch. You morph to a smaller form as employers usually do when contacting mortals.

“I hope you excuse us, we have been mistakenly transported here by a portal that randomly opened out on our plane of existence.”

Doc points to the portal on the ceiling, where Hank attempts to climb to on a bookshelf. You get flustered and profusely apologizes, explaining that that’s where you go through to talk with your employees and must have opened accidentally. Doc nods and tells the Administrator that it’s ok. Remembering the time where he first went in contact with you, appearing to be the odd one out, being the clumsy friendly employer of the bunch.

“I could lift you guys up there!”

“That seems like a good idea.”

You grew into your normal size again, holding the grunts with your both hands. First lifting the sleepy one, giving him one last pat before putting him through the portal. Then lifting a beefy grunt, who was smiling at you,

“Hey uh, thanks for helping us!”

You smiled back and lift him through the portal.

You held doc, he thanked you as well, you beamed at him and lift him through the portal.

There was one more though.

You looked at Hank, who was still climbing the bookshelf. He trashed when you picked him up, he was ready to fight you. You still stared at him, he was the complete opposite of you, he opposed your morals, but he still helped with ending Project Nexus. As much as you wanted this guy gone, you couldn’t bring yourself to hurt him. You sighed and lift him up.

Now you had to pretend nothing happened while Auditor ranted that Hank and his crew simply “vanished” through a random portal while his men were so close to getting them, the same chicken it out when it came to entering it.

I should stop creating ocs with the fanfics that I write lmao now I love the idea of a anti violence movement in the madness universe

Thousand Autumns / Qian Qiu / 千秋 by 梦溪石 Meng Xishi (I assume if you like Peerless you probably also like Thousand Autumns LOL which is top teir for me persoonally)

Idk if i'd say it's my favorite but it's my favorite; Lord Seventh / Qi Ye / 七爷 . I cannot stress how much I love Qi Ye. It is sooooo omg. LOVE it. And of course along side it is Faraway Wanderers / Tian Ya Ke / 天涯客 both by Priest (which is of course aka Word or Honor/Shan he ling/山河令 because of the LA, def reconmend both and read in the order they take place in; it hightens the experience for sure)

UUUUM another that I have started and really enjoyed and highly reconmend but havn't finished myself yet for one reason or another are Qiang Jin Jiu / 将进酒 by 唐酒卿 Tang Jiuqing (I think the English name is like Invitation to Wine??? Don't quote me on that)

I finally finished a sky beyond the storm and my heart is broken 💔 anw I need to rant ‼️ BEWARE SPOILERS‼️

I love Laia and her character development. I think it's realistic to see how she grows from the scared and anxious girl in the first book to a strong, brave, dependable woman that she is in the last. I actually can't see why anyone would hate on her character. Realistically speaking, who wouldn't be scared if they were in Laia's shoes? And despite her fear and anxiety in earlier books, I think she handled herself pretty well. A strong female character doesn't always have to be a badass, sarcastic, bitchy girlboss. Laia shows that she can be as much of a girlboss with her patience, grace, understanding, and softness.

Elias, I don't know how to start with him. I FREAKING LOVE HIM. I think in my list of best male characters, he's pretty much up there. He's a strong and reliable leader, a trusting and lovable friend, and a very, very, VERY selfless human being. Reading his POVs as the Soul Catcher just breaks my heart. It hurts to see how a vibrant and passionate life like Elias reduced to an unfeeling creature of death. He used to have so many interactions with everyone around him, and as the Soul Catcher he can't do that. And Mauth just pisses me off the whole time. HOW COULD U DO THIS TO MY POOR BOY? 😭 Anw I'm glad he got the happy ending he deserves. I personally hoped for a much grander ending for him and a much grander and tear-jerking "welcome back to life" from his family and friends (as if I haven't cried enough 🥲), but well at least he's happy. Also his interaction with Mirra and the others in the Waiting Place before his time as the Soul Catcher was up is just *chef's kiss*.

Helene, Helene, my poor baby. You've suffered enough and lost probably more than anyone. This woman watched her whole family, her friends, the love of her life murdered in front of her eyes. The odds are stacking against her, and yet she survives. After so many losses and defeats, she finally wins. Loyal to the end indeed (that motto is going to haunt me for the rest of my life 🥲💔). She grows from someone who is ignorant of the Empire's sins, serving it blindly, to someone who accepts the Empire for its good and bad, accepts her own sins, and does her best to fix everything. I love how she finally accepts her feelings, her anger and grief and her love for Avitas. I think I should learn a thing or two from her.

I love all the characters, not just the main three, but the others as well. I love Avitas, ever so patient and loyal to Helene. I love Livia, what a gentle and determined soul. I love Musa with his teasings and jokes and loyal, tragic love. I love Darin with his brotherly love and boyish interaction with Elias. Afya, Gibran, Aubarit, Tas, Mamie, Shan, Quin, Faris, Dex. I even love Keris and the Nightbringer as villains. They make me furious but I also sympathize with them. I understand where their actions are coming from.

I love the relationships. Laia and Elias. Helene and Avitas. Helene and Faris last scene was heartbreaking, as did Helene and Livia. Helene and Musa's friendship is a breath of fresh air--and is that a possible romance between them I'm sensing? Though I see them more as siblings who bond with each other for their shared loss of loved ones. Elias and Helene duo is back at it again and I couldn't stop punching the air when it happened. Elias and Darin interactions always make me smile. Elias and Avitas's brotherhood, too beautiful and too short lasting. Elias and Mirra's "pass the baton" moment, as well as Mirra acknowledging him as her son-in-law 🥹 Also the relationship I didn't expect to make me cry so hard: Keris and Karinna. Keris finally accepting her fate and Karinna finally crossing to the other side. Do you think Karinna knows that Elias is her grandson?

I love the fights. I love the battle strategies. I love how everyone plays their respective parts in the battle against the Nightbringer. I absolutely love how Elias and Helene command and unite their respective armies.

I was hoping for more Elias and Keris interaction, honestly. I got the feeling that even after all she's done, deep down Keris still loves Elias and is afraid of that feeling. I think she's much like Helene in that matter. I also think that Elias doesn't really get the appreciation he deserves, but maybe I'm just biased lol.

That being said, I think this book is a very satisfying ending to close the main characters' journey, except for Helene's love life lmao help 🥲 but I think it's realistic enough. After all it'd be too convenient if all the main characters and their loved ones survive, and Sabaa Tahir has made brave choices in killing some of the major characters. In conclusion, I'm pretty satisfied with the ending and I love this series and its characters so much. Goodbye, embers in the ashes. Thank you for bringing me along in your journey ✨

I think liminal spaces are less about the physical architecture or climate or lighting of a space but rather a feeling it invokes that eerie nostalgia we see absence and what should be there but instead it’s barren and empty void of people yes but of laughter of crying of memories of the ability to capture the moment and snapshot time — bc if a tree falls in the forest and makes a thud but no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? I think liminal spaces play with the same discourse in that no one is there to capture the moment and create an atmosphere yet it still has an aura of its own and that aura is filled w this like brooding and longing and nostalgia we can’t really articulate in words..That’s power!

These pics kinda validate in my mind that home is the atmosphere people create and not solely places home, in how we define it in conversation, is like a place u like to go bc u know that the ppl u love will also b there (that’s how I understand it) but what happens to home when it becomes a house again and the people and the moment is gone..much to chew on

I think home is a place we go to when we cement who we are at our most comfortable into a physical space and when we miss who we are when we are not working or not amongst others we go home. Home is a sanctuary a church a place to worship ourselves in our comfort clothes and food and people and when it’s not we search for the feeling we are told home is supposed to bring us everywhere else.

The liminal space lives in a perpetual state of transition it functions not as once did and is void of an assigned purpose now and doesn’t know it’s future it lacks identity and therefore all it can do is mourn. A visual purgatory of half-accomplished journies.

We are afraid of the endless transition and waiting that liminal spaces undergo bc we are afraid of change/what things could mean but not having an answer in this moment.

A physical space with potential function, but no identity, no purpose, and no crowd to find value in it. A lot about Hong Kong’s depiction in film captures liminal spaces I want to learn more about this so imma read this paper

Aw Shan Shan I love this question. Right now I am in the midst of the Jewish High Holidays, and it is always a mix of stress, excitement and relaxation for me, because I am on the planning committee, and then I enjoy the services and the energy of them, but I also really love coming home in a sort of high/daze from all the socializing and food and laying back and let everything fall to the ground.

Today, I fell down at like 3:30 on my bed, stuck my earphones in and let the good vibes from the day wash over me while listening to my gentle/chill/folky Elvis playlist, which I made about two weeks ago, almost perfectly timed for this question.

These are songs mostly from the late 60s and 70s, and for me they are the equivalent of putting the tray of dinner dishes outside the bedroom, popping a few 'ludes and cozying up on the to watch the Carol Burnett Show with Elvis. Billy and Jo can stay and watch in the bed with us if they want, it is not weird at all, they're the only people we've seen in the last two weeks.

I need to focus on an era or else I'll cheat and make this post twenty to fifty songs long, and include all the BH session cuts of Ku-U-I-Po. Anyway, here are a few of the ones that I could just listen to on repeat as a mini playlist

Ok, I have to add Mary in the Morning, it is one of those songs that snuck up on me. I thought it was kinda of boring when I first listened to it. And now it is one of my favorite songs. It so deep, soft and the harmonica does something to me. I like the mix of the studio session because Elvis talking and laughing and the still quiet of getting ready is very soothing.

Hello my beautiful Elvis friends!  This week’s Top Three question is about soothing songs.  I have an “Elvis Serenade” playlist where he sings directly to me to sooth me and sometimes to help me fall asleep when my anxiety keeps me up at night.  I think we probably all have those songs we go to when we need to feel some peace of mind.  What are your top three soothing Elvis songs and what do they mean to you?

I Shall Be Released – I know this is just a tiny snippet from the studio that he didn’t actually record for an album, but I can’t even describe how much I love this.  Hearing him just start singing some random song that he liked feels so intimate and personal, and his voice acapella is just flawless.  Listening to this is immediately like a balm for my soul.

It Hurts Me – I first heard this song when I found a 45 of it for 99 cents (it was the B-side for Kissin’ Cousins).  I took it home and put it on my record player and was just stunned at how beautiful it was.  There was something magical about hearing one of his songs for the first time on vinyl like that.  His performance on this is perfection to me – the way he starts the song out so soft and then crescendos to the passionate ending.

Suppose – Elvis’ voice is just so soothing in this, I feel like he’s singing right to me.  Even though the lyrics are a bit on the sad side (“Suppose I had no wish to be alive” really hits me in the heart), I just find his voice calms me.  “Imagining no you is more impossible by far,” indeed.  Oh Elvis, I would never want to imagine a world without you in it. ❤️

Honorable Mention – Unchained Melody (June 21, 1977) – I put this as honorable mention because sometimes this song makes me start bawling.  Other times, though, I feel so connected to him when I hear it.  It is just unbelievable to me that he was able to pull out this stunning performance with his health in the condition that it was.  This man truly gave everything.  It makes me emotional but also like I can feel the deep connection and bond that he had with this fans, if that makes sense.

A week or so ago I was browsing a thread on Reddit titled, "What is that one childhood video game that you loved to bits, yet no-one else seems to have ever heard of?" That sort of thing is right up my alley, so I searched through it hoping to find some C64-specific posts and, I did! They are also ones I haven't yet featured, so let's do so!

First up, u/MELMHC posted: "Below the root on C64"

Below the Root was a nice little sidescroller RPG released in 1984 by Windham Classics, a once-division of Spinnaker Software. It's based on a series of fantasy novels titled The Green Sky trilogy by Zilpha Keatley Snyder which were published between 1975-77, which I actually didn't know until now so I looked up the books for more backstory.

In the books, a race of people called The Kindar of Green-sky are a utopian society, ruled by leaders called the Ol-zhaan, who are considered deities. "Unjoyful" emotions like anger and sorrow are banned and kept under strict control by a system of meditation, chant and ritual, accompanied by the use of narcotic berries. The people are vegetarians and surround themselves with pets. Babies are born with paranormal powers, which is kept into adulthood, but were disappearing earlier with each successive generation. The people lived in fear of the forest floor and the pash-shan, legendary monsters said to stalk below the roots of their magnificent tree-cities.

A novice Ol-zhaan named Raamo and his friend Neric (one of the game's playable characters) set out to discover if the monsters truly exist. What they found were the Erdlings, a race made up of exiled Kindar dissidents and their descendants. Where the Kindar live their whole lives in the shade, the Erdlings seek places where the sun penetrates the caverns. They have been living in the caverns and subsisting on plants, mushrooms and the occasional unwary rabbit (lapan) or ground bird, plus fallen fruits from the Kindar orchards. They are superb craftsmen, metalworkers and jewelers; they have fire, which is unknown in Green-sky, and transport people and supplies by railway, using steam propulsion. They have no taboos against anger, sadness or other "unjoyful" emotions, and (possibly as a result) appear to have retained much more of their psychic powers than have the Kindar.

Their discovery shakes the very foundation of Green-sky's social order. The Erdlings are released from their exile and the Ol-zhaan disbanded, but reconciling the two societies takes a long time. An unnamed society of disgruntled Ol-zhaan (called Salite in the game) and the Nekom, vengeance-seeking Erdlings, began patrolling the branch-paths and causing unrest. Furthermore, Raamo himself apparently perished, silencing a voice for tolerance and unity.

In the game's manual, you are told that the wise old woman (and former Ol-zhaan high priestess) D'ol Falla has a vision, in which she heard these words: "The Spirit fades, in Darkness lying. A quest proclaim - the Light is dying." Your character (one of five from the series) then begins the game looking for clues to the meaning of D'ol Falla's vision in hopes of restoring peace to both nations.

The game does a great job in sticking close to details of the books, such as making you unable to steal as that behaviour is banned in the society. To obtain and item you must ask characters for permission to take it, or to pay with tokens you can gain in-game. Also adhering to this, the game was made to be almost entirely non-violent. You can only be hurt by contact with venomous animals, falling, or colliding with a barrier. Your character can also be kidnapped and taken hostage, and collect weapons, which can mostly only be used to cut vine barriers. Killing someone renders the game unwinnable.

The nicely coloured graphics were considered advanced for the time, and competent controls made gameplay easy. The game was well-received, and now has a fanpage for the game and the books up online.

7. Which player voice actor is your favorite and your least favorite?

I haven’t played through all of them yet, so of the ones I’ve experienced - male Jedi Knight is probably my fave, I feel like he hits more emotional ups and downs than a lot of the others (and he’s pretty close to what Caspian should actually sound like, so I’m biased.) That said, I adore the accent of the male Sith Warrior as well. Not a fan of the male Sith Inquisitor.

8. Name your top favorite companions (feel free to include reasons why).

S C O U R G E: I could go on for pages about this man and I could listen to his voice for hours. He’s just so layered and complex and he’s seen so much. I love how he’s both unflinchingly ruthless and incredibly open-minded. He makes you THINK and QUESTION and at the same time, he admits at multiple points that he is learning from the Knight as well. And he does NOT get enough credit for his sass and deadpan sense of humour. Theron Shan: He’s witty, he’s reckless, he’s running on five cups of caf at any given point, and he cares so much more than he wants you to know. And despite his casual attitude, he is REALLY good at his job. I think that gets undersold sometimes. Malavai Quinn: Yeah I still don’t know how this one happened. I blame Khel and seeing everything through his lens. Quinn is incredibly intelligent and there’s a lot going on behind his veneer of stiff and proper Imperial officer - he has passions, and he can be quite vicious, but I also like how he consistently disapproves of senseless cruelty.

10. Favorite love interest?

IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION

Okay but seriously - Scourge. So much Scourge. Cannot even begin to explain the depth and complexity of my feelings about him and Caspian. (I’ll try)

So this is very much coloured by MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of their relationship as it progresses, because you can only romance Scourge so late in the game (and as an aside, I am totally happy with that timing. It works for the story, that wait was agonising but absolutely worth it.) Allow me to drop a blurb from my lengthy WIP:

“Are you serious?” Another small, surprised laugh bubbled from Kira’s lips. “Scourge - the Force gave you a vision of this guy centuries before he even existed. You dedicated nearly your entire life to serving your enemy, living under his control, all in the belief that one day, this unknown Jedi in your vision would appear, and you’d join forces with him to bring down the greatest threat the galaxy’s ever known. And that’s exactly what you’ve done. Say what you want, but by anyone else’s standard that sounds pretty damn romantic. If it had been me, I think I’d have fallen for you too.”

Scourge blinked. “You make it sound far more shallow than it is,” he muttered, feeling another swell of heat that rose to stain his face.

“No, it’s not shallow at all. That’s my point.” Kira was watching him earnestly now, not even commenting on his flushed features. “You two were literally brought together by the will of the Force. I mean, a Jedi and a Sith, practically icons of their respective sides, hugely different people with wildly opposing values - you two couldn’t go half a day without an argument, when you first joined up, remember? But you still found a way to put all that aside and become something different altogether. Something more.”

This dichotomy is what’s so compelling to me about Cas/Scourge. There’s the whole ‘enemies to allies to lovers’ thing of course, but even deeper than that, their story is about how they’ve taken the will of the Force, the destiny the Force has crafted for them in joining together to defeat the Emperor, and they’ve made it their own. At the end of the day, they’re not doing this because the Force willed it - they are CHOOSING to be together, CHOOSING to find their common ground and learn and grow together, and that’s more powerful than any destiny.

14. Favorite planet story arc?

I’ll be honest, I’m terrible at remembering the planet stories as opposed to the class stories that take place on them. But on instinct I’ll go with Belsavis. I love the progression of going deeper and deeper into the dangers of the prison and its vaults, exploring not only what the Republic imprisoned here, but what the Rakata left behind. And on a similar Rakata note, Tatooine is great, the slow uncovering of the mystery of what Czerka found beneath the sands is always compelling when I go through it.

Porco’s hand clenched in his jacket’s pocket, dark hues watching your movement. He chews on the inside of his cheek when he sees the smallest smile showing on Reiner’s face.

Fucking prick.

Porco clears his throat as he turns around in his chair, picking up his sandwich and angrily biting it. His mind wanders off as he enjoys the taste of the meat, swallowing it before biting again. He’s still angry, but this food is able to take his mind off.

The shifter knows you wouldn’t do something-

But that doesn’t mean he has to think the same about Reiner. The blond just riles him up in ways he can’t imagine since warrior training. If the armored wasn’t taken away from him because of Marcel, then maybe, just maybe Porco could like Reiner.

But no.

Oh to be given another shot to get his knuckles across one more time will leave Porco at peace forever; he smiles faintly at the thought, nodding his head slightly to agree with himself as he looks out the window.

“Okay Reiner! That’s all I need so I can tell the commander! I think Zeke was looking for you outside with Colt.”

Porco’s heart drops when he hears Reiner say he missed talking to you. You never talked much, does that-

“What are you talking about?” porco suddenly blurts, turning around with bread crumbs resting on his cheeks. “What do you mean by that, Reiner?!”

Reiner is taken aback as he holds the papers close to his chest, eyes blown up in the slightest at his outburst. “What do you mean?”

“Porco remember you were away?” you interrupt the building argument, walking away from Reiner to where Porco was seated at. “The war? The one you just came back from?”

Before he can open his mouth to talk, Reiner awkwardly clears his throat and begins to backtrack his steps until he reaches the door. “I’ll just head out. Galliard, Y/N,” he nods in your direction before opening the door, closing it behind him once he leaves.

It's silent between you and your lover; already knowing an argument might start from his fruitless thinking.

“Porc-”

He immediately shoves the rest of his uneaten sandwich in his mouth, cheeks puffed up as he chews, avoiding your stare. However, your gaze doesn’t move as you turn your body to face him entirely, looking down at him.

“Porco.”

“Hm?” he hums, noticing your gaze through his peripheral vision. His fingers are itching to grab a hold of yours, but something tells him by that look on your face, that you don’t feel the same.

“What was that about?”

“What was what about?” he answers once he swallows his food, yawning into his hand as he leans back on the chair, shutting his eyes.

“Reiner.”

“What about that idiot?”

“I think the idiot here is you. What was that about? Why’d you get mad at him?”

“He knows what he was doing,” he mutters, pursing his lips at how idiotic he sounds right now.

“And that was?” you continue. Porco could be such a pain in the ass when it came to his emotions, it was one of the things you hated about him.

He sighs, opening one eye to peek up at you. “I’m jealous.”

Huh?

“Jealous? Of Reiner?” you ask again for clarification, to which he nods in return. “B-But..why?”

“Do I really need to answer? He got so fucking close to you. He knows I’m in the room, yet he continued to do so. That bastard is trying to do it again,” he grumbles the last part, sitting straight up on the chair as his feet slam on the wooden floor, a creaking noise occurring.

“..does this have to do with the Armored titan again?”

He’s silent. There’s his answer.

“Porco,” you begin, wrapping your arms around his neck, hugging his head to your torso. His body relaxes upon touch, nuzzling his head in the valley of your breasts.

“You know I only love you. I don’t want to date Reiner. I’m yours, okay?”

The slightest amount of pink dusts his cheeks, a hum emitting from his lips as he stares at you for a second before looking away. “I still don’t like it..”

“..Porco, are you blushing?”

“Gross. You know I don’t blush.”

For a second there i was scared, but then there's also this peace (Of course, I can only credit that to God given that He's the Only who provides it, anyway) then if that's the case, I'd like to enjoy the happiness as much as i can and only worry about the sad part when it finally happens. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ i mean, i find it senseless to worry about something nonexistent yet. (But F. Kasi ang tagal niya. Nakakagigil) Unless of course there is some basis to it. But as for my situation, there isn't. There is just... happiness. Hahaha but I know, somewhere along the line, it'll get tired of being a linear, and i accept that. Who doesn't? Even when we all strive for a good posture, my back aches to bend sometimes. Okay, now that that is out of the way. Let's see. Let's break down this day.

1. I was able to start my morning with a coffee talk with my mom. We shared yung napanalunan ko sa raffle na cookies.

2. Hinatid ako hanggang Camella gate kay Flash.

3. Hindi ako late. Hehe. And when i got there, the first two people are Jen and Paulo. And God knows, I'm happy that they are. Because then we were able to make a little chika. I'm glad we're all comfortable with each other.

4. I saw my other classmates na hindi nakapunta nung CASED party. 🫶

5. We finally got our ID lace. I have the official Psych ID Lace. What does that make me? Come on, answer. Oh, as for it, i chose the different one. Wala lang. Just so kunti lang katulad nung akin

5. I was entrusted with the room's key. Hello sir Kenneth 🫡

6. Nakuha ko yung upuan sa harap. Hehe. This is a big deal to me given na i kind of have a short attention span.

7. Hindi naglecture si ma'am. I told the people today na kasama ko na i am not confident today kasi i still feel tired from last night.

8. And today's activity afforded us 50% ng finals sa ITP. Hoorahhh!

9. The activity is just being honest with oneself. Hehehehehehehehehehe and writing letters to another. I apologize to all na sinulatan ko. Wala na po akong mapiga na brain cells kanina. Pagod pa 😭

10. I received so much hugs. GOSH, MY FAVORITE PART. AND I MEAN SO MUCH HUGS. When ma'am ask us to give na the letters, i first went to Shan and gave her a hug. After that, i wasn't able to give the rest because God in His goodness and grace, I was trafficked by hugs. HAHAHAHAHAHA & I am seriously shocked. I didn't expect to receive that much letters and hugs. Aww Lord, You are so kind to me. I feel sincerely comforted and loved. Thank You! And thank you ❤️

11. All those letters. I look like a baliw reading them at public places but hey, i am proud and humbled at the same time. Thank ü

12. We were dismissed early. And what did u know, before i even get out of the room, i received another 2 hugs and an immediate another one paglabas ko. HAHAHAHA Aww this melts my heart. Thank You Lord.

13. I received a chocolate! Yay!

14. I received an invitation to go out for lunch. Unfortunately, i had to decline because i promised today's after class is mine. And i really needed to buy mommy a gift.

15. I went to my happy place today! Yay! Cue happy dance~ bought and brought 6 books home today. And almost all of them are classics. Yay! Praise God! I really missed going there. Really missed it. ♥️

16. It's my mom's bday so we ordered food for dinner. KFC and Pizza. I ate 1/4 of it. I forgot we have rotc tomorrow so good luck to me.

17. And last, we have cake. 🫶🫰♥️😳😍🤭❤️ Mango sunrise. U bet I'm gonna eat.

So far, these are all of them. And i thank God because He let me lived today. I wasn't able to do what I'm trying to be (ehem, Atomic Habits) but I sure am grateful that God planned this and that it pleased Him to let me enjoy this day. All glory to Him really ☺️♥️

as soon as he heard his name, he stands up from where he was sitting and sees a girl waving and walking towards him. when the girl was standing in front of him, he escorted her to sit down and gave her a box after doing so.

“what’s this?”

“open it.”

she did so and sees the very first photo they took together.

“hey, this is the first photo we took together.”

“do you still remember the first time we met?”

flashback 1

“ugh, why am i so short?!”

frustrated, she looked around the library to check if anyone was there to help her. but to no avail, the room was empty. she was about to leave when a boy walked inside.

“hey!” she said which caught the guy’s attention. “i’m really sorry, but can you please help me get that book? i can’t reach it.”

the guy nods his head and grabs the book and gives it to her. she was about to say her thanks when he suddenly exclaimed, “hold up, is that the sword of shannara?!”

“yeah, it’s my favourite. this is the book that made me love the fantasy genre.”

“same! wow, this is my first time seeing someone read this book. i thought i was the only one who knew about it.”

both of them laughed realizing how much they have in common.

“well, my name’s shan. short for shannara.”

“jake.”

end of flashback

“yeah, we immediately clicked and you ook me out to lunch after. and this photo was taken that time.” she pointed at the photo as she looked at jake, smiling.

she continued looking through the photos and pointed to one of it.

“these were the notes you gave me.”

“took me one week to confess to you. i literally gave up for v and u.”

“it took you one week to say ‘i love you’ in the most confusing way.”

“confusing but unique. i mean, who would have thought of confessing to someone by using their favourite quotes from their favourite books.”

“only you.”

“exactly!”

both of them giggled remembering those moments. they continued looking through the photobook until they got to the very last page. seeing the photo on the last page made them reminisce it.

flashback 2

“we’re here!”

jake removed his hands that were covering shan’s eyes and she saw stars shining brightly. she was so mesmerized by the moon and stars, it almost looked like she became one with it. she looked at jake after and gave him a hug.

“you’re the best! thank you so much!”

that night was the best time they have spent together — taking pictures, talking about their favourite books, watching a movie under the stars while eating their favourite snacks and just enjoying each other’s presence.

“i wish this won’t end. i still want to make the book of us.”

end of flashback.

“i remember this. this was the day you made me the happiest.” 

they looked at each other and smiled softly.

“but why did you give this to me? it’s not our anniversary. or any special occasion.”

“i know.”

jake broke the eye contact but shan kept looking at him — sadness evident on her eyes.

“is this our goodbye?”

“i’m sorry.”

“i understand.”

“it’s just crazy how we’ve known each other now for 5 years, have been together for 3 years yet this is the first time i’m seeing you after 7 months.”

he looked at her again, trying not to let any tears fall.

“you said i made you the happiest 7 months ago but that was also the day you last talked to me. you didn’t even say anything. you just left.”

silence filled the air for a few seconds before jake continued.

“despite loving fantasy and thinking that our love is similar to that, i wanted to be the lucky one to turn that solitary fantasy into a million realtiies. but i guess even wanting to be that lucky one was also a fantasy.”

“i’m sorry.”

“it’s alright. everything does come to an end. i just didn’t expect that you would be one of it. maybe that’s the reason why it was so hard for me to let you go.”

shan didn’t know what to say so she just hugged jake which led to him hugging her back.

“i love you.”

“i love you too.”

“i’m sorry if i left you. we clicked so well but we didn’t match each other. i didn’t want to hurt you.”

their hug lasted for a long time, not wanting to let go of each other but both soon let go and the smiles that were exchanged after that hug was the most painful yet the most beautiful one as well.
