The thing with my au is uh. Um. I have not written like anything completed for it (except for like. One thing and about 7 WIPs. I also have a document that’s 12K+ words of just ideas and tidbits about it) but I can definitely tell you about it! I hope to write something in the future and maybe put it on ao3? I’ll have to see how it goes.

But it’s future!Donnie-centric (obviously) and I’ve planned out a few arcs already I think. I have three (maybe four?) versions of how it ends (because my brain can never stick to one idea ever) so I’ll probably turn it into three/four separate aus?

One where Donnie dies purposefully because the only way they could win is for him to do something that he won’t come back from (pretty much like how it was in mutant ninja midlife crisis! That was the first longfic I read for this fandom and I was obsessed I love that Donnie).

The next one is where he dies accidentally (where he didn’t plan to), but he built a robot replacement for himself long before because he was paranoid about dying anyway.

Third one is he’s the last one alive with Casey, and both of them go back to the past using a time machine that he had to destroy pretty much their entire base (and Shelldon) to build. Donnie planned to help stop the invasion, but because of something going wrong on the way back, he ends up in a coma for the duration of it and for a few days after, so it’s just Casey, who shows the other turtles when they get back to the base. I’ve written a complete scene for that one and am in the process of writing another one but honestly Void (@/thevoidisscreamingbackatyou) helps me brainstorm for this one a lot.

Fourth one is the newest one I’ve thought of, and it’s the same as the previous one except Donnie then feels guilty that he wasn’t able to help, and so travels to another alternate universe to stop their invasion, leaving Casey behind to live the rest of his life happy with the present turtles (at least he assumes Casey’s happy with that. He’d be wrong, but, ah). After that, he decides one universe isn’t enough, and he could be more useful, do more. So basically he hops between as many universes as he can, reliving the day of the invasion over and over again, trying to save as many worlds as he can.

I’ve decided that I am indeed abnormal about the Cass apocalyptic series and most Definitely hyperfixating on it how are you!

Hello!!! Every time Future Donnie shows up I am mentally doing a little dance he’s so good. Peak expressions. And Raph is so lovely :((( I can’t wait till we get Leo back I imagine that will be a Time. Disaster twins reunion. Mostly it is just giving me ideas for my own future timeline au but god yeah I can never get enough of Cass’s Donnie
