Lot of details here that I forgot.
- Chang Ping wasn't literally the only Chang left, there were 'a few family members' with him.
- Chang Ping is said to be the head of the clan at the time of the Chang massacre. This is probably where the semi common headcanon that Chang Ci'an was already dead by then comes from. Also, since Chang Ping is referred to as a fairly young and inexperienced cultivator, it would be reasonable to guess that Chang Ci'an hadn't been dead for very long. Rip to XY for missing the window of opportunity on his primary target lol (tho it's not like we know how he may have felt abt it, if true- he's still described as 'quite self-satisfied' and this is all just conjecture)
- Xiao Xingchen was able to find out about Xue Yang's grudge against the Changs seemingly just by asking around on the street. Guess XY was out there yapping LOL (Not about the actual cause tho, nooo, that might imply he has actual vulnerabilities)
- I knew he was definitely a teenager at the time of the massacre in novel canon, and I remembered the line that said he was well-known as a menace by 15, but I forgot it was worded in such a way that strongly suggests 15 is being given as his age for when he killed the Changs. Thought it was more ambiguous. Ough
- Xue Yang fresh off his revenge bender still has enough energy to be happily causing trouble 3 provinces over, not even trying to hide in the slightest. What's a good chaser to achieving your long planned revenge? Why, more chaos of course!!!

this thing is my pride and joy i've had it for like 8 years and it's still in pretty decent condition, just a few little scratches and the circle pad rubber came off. as you can tell i modded it and the custom badges are super fun :]
my favourite games are pokemon black 2, kirby triple deluxe (i've 100% this game 4 times), shin megami tensei iv and pokemon ultra moon. ive downloaded way more games than shown on here but i have an 8gb sd card so i can only have a few big games at a time

i'm playing trough the unova villain arc in pokemas rn and i did not expect them to randomly drop the detail that the in-game events takes place 5 years after bw2.

I was gonna do a nuzlocke update but I then thought about Trevor telling Jude about his parents leaving him and his sisters and them being in part as to why he wants to complete the Pokedex and after that Jude calls his mom to tell her thanks for sticking with him after all this time 🥺
#context: Jude and Grace's relationship is kinda tense. cause Grace adopted jude about#2 years before xy.#and before that jude pretty much had it had to the point where he expects the worst from everyone and refuse to let people in#when grace adopted him he thought it was just a publicity stunt from a retired ryhorn racer#but couldn't really do anything since they were just 14-15 at the time#so to say things were tense where an understatement#grace wasn't as prepared as she thought she was to be a mother of a teen#a troubled teen at that#and while she did her best she had no real idea of how to connect with jude#by xy they were definitely better that they were when Grace adopted him#but again. tense. Jude is still pretty hold to everyone.#so Jude willingly calling his mom to thank her is a big fucking deal#and it makes my heart go OUGH when thinking about it.#oc: jude bellrose

This has one of the most heartwarming historical trans stories I've ever read. In 1971, Carl Macmichael and his cis son spoke to the Sunday paper. Not only did Carl's 15-year-old son support his father, but he was delighted to have a trans dad: "I think he's very brave. It's quite handy to have mum and dad the same person."
Shortly after transitioning, Carl asked Thelma O'Sullivan to become his nurse in 1969. She helped Carl medically transition for 2 years while realizing her feelings for him. "Many people have ridiculed Carl, and I suppose some people will think me odd for falling in love with him. But I don't care," she explained. "He has gone through a great deal and I hope I can give him a little of the happiness that he is seeking."
Like most trans people at the time, Carl claimed to be intersex. Having XY chromosomes and being capable of giving birth is extraordinarily rare, leaving us to wonder if he told this to newspapers for legitimacy. All the names in the article are pseudonyms so there was never any follow-up after 1971.

Oooh, I just looked it up to double-check and you’re right! But also this might be a discrepancy! So (going off exr) Chapt. 30 is when we are introduced to the backstory between Xue Yang and Xiao Xingchen, in which we are told that Xue Yang is “even younger” than Xiao Xingchen, who we are told in the previous chapter descended the mountain at 17. That same paragraph goes on to say that “ever since the age of 15,” Xue Yang had been known as a delinquent of the Kuizhou area. Now, let’s skip to ahead to Nie Mingjue’s memories.
In Chapt. 49, we are inside of Nie Mingjue’s head in the memory of a Jin banquet. There, we see Xue Yang, again, who is already a Jin guest disciple brought in by Jin Guangyao. When Jin Guangyao says his name, Nie Mingjue immediately recognizes him as “Xue Yang of Kuizhou.” This all happens before Wei Wuxian defects from the Jiang sect, because not long after this conversation, Jiang Cheng shows up with Wei Wuxian still by his side. So Xue Yang’s reputation would have had to have come pre-Sunshot Campaign (which itself lasted 3 years). Wei Wuxian then dies a year (give or take) after defecting.
If we are being very generous we can say that Xue Yang was receuited at 15 (which, fair). Xiao Xingchen descends 2 years after that, though, meaning they’d still have to at least be the same age according to the timeline. I, going off the Nie Mingjue memory, was running off the assumption that Xue Yang was probably 18ish when Wei Wuxian died, not that much younger than the main cast. He just has a baby face 😭
Xue Yang fixed the fucking using tiger tally in what like 2 years at most??? As a fucking street kid??? And with shitty notes??? I feel like this isn’t talked about enough—
like at 16 he re-constructed the most powerful weapon in the cultivation world—
