Re: pro life "beliefs"
I want to make it very clear: I don't care about your beliefs. Your beliefs have no place in a debate about whether a person should retain their basic right to bodily autonomy. If your beliefs include stripping people of their rights, then I'm sorry but your beliefs are wrong.
If you believe that a pregnant person deserves to lose the rights to their own bodies, to put themselves in the way of potential harm, for nearly a full year (not including any follow-up surgeries/procedures they may need) just to bring a baby into the world where it may not be cared for, wanted, or loved? Then you have some serious soul searching to do.
If you believe that God has any place in this discussion, that he wilfully put those embryos in place, or whatever, then you also need to do some soul searching. Because if your God is so great, so all-knowing, so merciful, then why would he give fetuses to people unable/unwilling to carry them?
If you believe that performing a consensual act means that a pregnant person should lose their rights, then you need to do some soul searching.
Basically? Your beliefs dont mean shit if you believe that a person who can get pregnant is less valuable than the fetus inside them. If you truly, wholeheartedly believe that a pregnant person should have less rights than a corpse? I have nothing to say to you, except, do some soul searching. Understand why you really want to take away people's choices, and force them to carry a fetus that they did not choose to carry.
(And no. Choosing to have sex is not choosing to get pregnant.)
