The assassination had gone off without a hitch. All that was left, was the escape. "What's the plan?" Forest,'s question was in ernest. This biz was new to him. Vulpin, a seasoned veteran, looked at him like he had asked who the gods were to talk to humans like they do. "Oh my gods. Forest, I know this your first time, but please try to keep up. I had us wear fancy outfits to an assassination at a fancy party. What do you think the plan is?" Forest's brow wrinkled in that cute way it always does when he's lost the plot. "Oh! We act like we were invited, and walk out the front door," Forest exlaimed, exited he'd umderstood their out. "Give the boy a prize! Now, check to make sure the coast is clear, while I cover up our involvement with fuck face over here." Vul nodded to the body, who's face was in the cracked toilet bole, blood spilling out the fractures. Forest nodded, and slowly cracked the door. "Two rich bitches, at the sink," he whispered. "Change of plans. Make it look like he fell onto the toilet." Vulpin gave the order so matter of factly, Forest didn't even think. He just nodded. Vulpin walked out of the stall. "Hey, boys. Listen. Things are a little messy, but we're not here for you. If you just stay put-" She's cut off by the sound of swords being unsheathed. "Ugh. Why did everyone her have to be Zevans?" Forest didn't know Vulpin well, but it was obvious to most that she used rhetoric a lot. Forest was cool with it, even if it was overdone. Next, Forest heard the sounds of swords clashing, two gasps, and a sigh. After positioning the body the best he could, he peeked out of the stall. Vul was fuxing her fur using the mirror. She muttered something about a comb, then saw Forest in the mirror. "Hey, bud. You get the body done?" Forst nodded, and asked, "What's the plan for those two?" Forest pointed to the two seemingly dead men on the floor. Forest noticed they weren't bleeding, and, upon closer inspection, had bruises on their heads. "I knocked 'em out. As far as a plan goes, we need to eliminate witnesses somehow, but we can't kill 'em. It'll wreak of assassins, three rich fucks dead at a party in the night." Vul turned to Forest. "The way I see it, we've only got one option; take them with us," Forest sighed. "Can't. They'd slow us down too much. We'd have to walk through the ball with two bodies. It'll never work." V spat a little blood in the sink, washing it away. "I have an idea. It's so stupid it might work." Forest was the king of that genre of stupid. "What did you have in mind?" Vul raised an eyebrow. "I'll explain, but first, promise not to embarrass me," Forest said. "Embarrass you? I'm more high class than you could dream of being," she teased. "There's blood on your shirt," Forest chuckled, before Vul was frantically cleaning her shirt.
"Please try not to embarrass me."
"Me embarrass you? I'm more high class than you could ever hope to be."
"Uh-huh. There's blood on your shirt, by the way."

This wasn’t planned || USWNT x pregnant!teen!reader
Request | Masterlist | Prompt list
Warning Teen pregnancy, morning sickness, cravings, long painful labour and delivery
Summary You fall pregnant very unexpectedly and feel like your falling but your teammates are there to pick you up
A/N I’ve done three different versions of this now with different teams but this is the final one 🫶🏻
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Y/N, what’s wrong hun?” Emily asked as she walked into the bathroom, heating your wracked sobs.
Emily was like your sister, having known you from the US team and Arsenal. You two even lived together in England.
You showed her the pregnancy test, her jaw dropping as she saw pregnant.
You weren’t surprised at her reaction, after all you were only sixteen. You don’t think anyone really expects you to be pregnant so young, but here you were.
“I did it once, Em. I was at that stupid party I told you about and I hooked up with a guy. It wasn’t even that long. Twenty second if that. And he wore a condom! I don’t get what happened.” You sobbed, Emily holding your shaking body.
“I know, hun. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” Emily whispered repeatedly, stroking your hair. “The girls will be with you the whole way through. I promise. I’ll help you.”
You didn’t believe her at first, thinking that everyone would judge you.
But surprisingly, Emily was right.
You had no choice but to tell the team, some of them bringing up that you were constantly sick, especially in the mornings.
“Y/N, are you okay? I saw you run in here.” Sophia asked as you continued to throw up in the toilet.
She rubbed your back as you threw up, holding your hair back too.
“Hun, you’ve been sick every single day this week. Are you sure you’re okay?”
You debated whether to lie or not, but you figured you’d be telling her soon anyway.
“I’m pregnant.” You revealed.
“Oh my god… hun, this is big. I’m here for you, okay?”
“Thank tou.” You sent her a weak smile before hugging her.
The reactions of the others was similar, promising they’ll help with whatever they could.
There was one person though who you had to tell, Alex.
Alex Morgan was like your mum. After growing up without a mother, Alex took on that role when you joined the USWNT.
In the year you played together, the two of you became so close.
Since she’d retired, you rang her to see if you could meet her somewhere and you agreed a small coffee shop.
You were nine weeks already, the party having been nine weeks ago, so you were starting to show the most tiniest bit hence why you had started to wear baggier clothes.
“Hi, hun!” Alex cheered as you walked though the door.
“Hey, Al.” You sighed, melting into the hug.
You got caught into a conversation when you finally got the confidence to reveal the pregnancy.
“So… I have some news and I don’t really…” you began, feeling tears well in your eyes.
“You’re pregnant?” Alex guessed, your eyes widening in shock.
“Yeah. How did you know?”
“I know you, Y/N. The Y/N I know doesn’t wear baggy clothes and she certainly doesn’t not order coffee.” Alex explained, looking at you noticing how emotional you looked. “I’m so proud of you. You’re so good with Charlie, I just know you’re going to be a good mama.”
“Thanks, Alex.” You said between cries
“I’m pregnant too.” Alex revealed
“Are you actually?”
“It’s still really early. I’m gonna announce it when I retire from club football.” Alex said. “So, we’ll have each others backs, huh?”
—
“Em?” You shouted from the living room to Emily who was stood making lunch for you both.
“Yeah?”
“Can you please get the marmite for me. Bubba’s really craving it.” You said, rubbing your now seven month bump.
“Eww, marmite?” Emily replied, grabbing it from the cupboard anyway and bringing it through to you.
“Not my fault.” You told her and she nodded, understanding.
Just as you opened the lid, a knock was heard at the door.
Emily got up to answer it, Alessia and Lotte’s voices filling the house.
“Hiya, Y/N, hiya bubba. They’ve got so big!” Alessia exclaims as she settles on the couch next to you.
“Hi.” You greet back, your mouth full of marmite.
“New craving by any chance?” Lotte asked and you nodded.
“This is the fourth jar this week.” Emily added as you grinned cheekily.
“It’s not my fault the bubba wants it.”
Your phone started ringing and you picked it up to see it was Alex ringing you.
“Hey Al.” You said, lifting yourself off the couch and walking towards your room.
“Hey hun, how you feeling? Emily said bubba’s been kicking you every night.”
“Alex, they won’t stop. I swear, it’s like they do it at night on purpose.” You said, collapsing onto your bed after the difficult journey up the stairs.
“What’s wrong? You sound out of breath.”
“I’ve just walked up the stairs.” You replied, Alex humming, also agreeing with how you were feeling. “Anyways, how are you?”
“Broke, but I’m okay.” Alex said
“Why are you broke?”
“Because I’ve just booked plane tickets to come see one of my favorite girls in England.” Alex responded, a clear smile evident in her voice.
“Alex… no.” You said, shocked.
“Yes, I’ve missed you so much, hun. I want to come see you before bubba is born.”
“Oh my god! When do you come? I’m canceling everything.”
The conversation carried on about when Alex was coming and what you were going to do.
—
You were now approaching the nine month stage.
You were exhausted to say the least. You were tired of being pregnant, you just wanted your baby here already.
You had asked Emily if you could go with to Colney today, wanting to see the Arsenal girls before you have birth.
She said yes, knowing she’d been making you coop up in the house for weeks now.
Maybe it would be good for you to get some fresh air.
“Hey, hun!” Alessia said, watching you waddle into the canteen where all the girls were sat. “You ready for bubba to come?”
“No. I’m dreading it but I can’t wait for them to come.” You responded, still making your way over to where alessia was sat.
“I can’t wait to meet them.”
“Well, you’re not going to wait much longer. Not much longer at all. Maybe today even because by the looks of it, bubba wants to come out now.” You said, looking at the puddle by your feet.
“Oh my god! Your water broke? Emily!” Alessia shouted, clearly panicked.
“Less! Calm down.” You laughed
“Yeah? Y/N! Your water broke!” Emily exclaimed, noticing the puddle at your feet.
“Wow, I hadn’t noticed.” You replied sarcastically, Emily rolling her eyes.
“Come on, hun, let’s get you home.”
—
It had been a long day.
You went home after your water broke, getting changed before timing your contractions.
After three hours, your contractions were bad, but not close enough to each other to go through hospital.
Emily suggested you went on a walk, to try speed up the labour.
You went around the block, waddling along as you walked.
But when you got back, they were only six minutes apart.
It was three o’clock when you finally went to the hospital, five hours after your water had broken.
Your contractions were close together now and were painful. Very very painful.
Emily drove to the hospital, holding your hand for support and comfort.
When you arrived, the nurses guided you to your room, allowing you to settle first before coming back to check how dilated you were.
“So, you are four centimetres dilated. How long ago did your water break?”
“About five hours ago.” You tell her
“Okay, so normally you would be a lot more further on in labour but there’s no need to worry. Slow labour could be affected by anything. Your age. Your athleticism. Anything.” The nurse explained and you nodded along, trying to focus on her words but it was hard to with a contraction hitting. “I’d recommend trying to get to sleep. It’ll be a long night for you and it might speed things up a bit.”
You took into account the fact that you might not be getting sleep with a newborn so you managed to get a few hours sleep, which actually helped speed up your labour too.
—
You were now nine centimetres dilated.
You had declined the epidural, having a massive fear of needles and after reading the negative effects an epidural could have, you definitely didn’t want it.
You were given gas and air instead, trying to decrease the pain as much as possible.
It was coming close to midnight, your body tired and achy now.
Emily still stayed by your side, rubbing your back and holding your hand.
You were currently knelt against the bed, your head in your arms as they rested on top of the bed.
“I think you’re ready to push.” The midwife announced as she checked how dilated you were.
“Thank god. I don’t know if I can do this for much longer.” You said, letting a sigh of relief out.
“Ready to meet your baby, huh?” Emily asked and you nodded, feeling a contraction coming.
“Ready to push? On three. One, two, three.”
You pushed with all your might, gripping onto Emily’s hands as you did.
“Okay, another one.”
Similar to the first push, you tried your hardest but there seemed to be no improvement.
Emily stroked back your sweat drenched hair, placing a kiss to your forehead as you pushed.
“I’m never having sex again.” You revealed after a push.
“Okay, hun.” Emily laughed
You had now been pushing for over half an hour, but still there seemed to be no sight of your baby.
“Y/N, if we can’t see your baby after this push we’re going to have to rush you in for an emergency C-Section.” The midwife said, and you nodded, knowing it would be for the best.
You were fully exhausted now, having used all your energy on the pushing.
“Hun, you’ve got this.” Emily said, panic on her face.
You groaned into the bed as you pushed, this time, using your whole body to push.
“I can see a head! Keep going, Y/N!” The midwife announced, as you kept pushing. “They’re heads nearly out. One more push and your babies head will be out.”
You pushed once more, this one more painful more than ever as the babies head crowned.
“They’re heads out. Take a breather if you want.” The nurse told you, rubbing your back in support.
“Tissue.” You mumbled to Emily who reached over to the box of tissues, bringing it to your forehead and wiping the sweat off.
“Whenever you’re ready, Y/N. One more big push, and your baby will be here.”
At them words, you pushed, using all your energy.
“They’re here! Your baby girl’s here.” The midwife said, catching your daughter and passing her under to you.
You held her to you chest, looking down at her as you both cried.
“Hi, bubba. I know that was tough, hey? Oh, I know.” You cooed as she cried her little lungs off.
“She’s perfect, hun.” Emily said rubbing your shoulder as she looked down at the baby in your arms.
“I’m gonna take her over here to check her vitals. I won’t be long.”
Whilst your baby girl was being checked over, you pushed the placenta out and moved to the bed.
Your daughter was being passed back to you, this time she was wrapped in a blanket with a small hat on top of her hair, covering her small tuffs of hair.
“She looked like you, Y/N.” Emily said
“You think so?”
“Same nose, same mouth, everything. A mini you.” Emily pointed out
“Would you like to hold her?” You asked Emily and she nodded, an emotional smile taking over her face.
“Hi, bubs. I’m your aunt Emily.” Emily cooed, stroking her finger up and down your daughter’s cheek. “What’s her name?”
“Florence Alexandra Y/L/N.”
“Oh my god, Alex is gonna be so happy.” Emily said
“I’m hoping she is, just like I’m hoping you’d be happy when I ask if you’d be Flo’s godmother?” You asked, Emily’s face lighting up.
“Of course! Oh my god thank you so much, Y/N.” Emily exclaimed, getting up to hug you.
—
After a while, you’d fed Florence and she was now fast asleep in a milk coma on your chest.
Emily was also fast asleep on the seat next to you.
You’d decided to FaceTime Alex to tell her about Florence.
The phone rang a few times before Alex finally picked up.
You’d angled the phone onto where Florence was laying, Alex’s jaw dropped as she focused on what she was looking at.
“They’re here?” Alex asked, you kidding with a tired smile.
“A girl. She’s perfect, Al. I’ve never felt a love like it, I’ve known her for an hour or two but I love her more than anything in the world. I guess you know what that feels like, huh? With Charlie.”
“I feel it with all my kids. Charlie, this baby, and you.” Alex said through tears.
“Al… you’re gonna make me cry.” You told her, blubbering.
“You’re my daughter too, Y/N. Since the moment you came into my life, you’ve been my daughter. Charlie loves you like a big sister too. Anyway, enough crying. What’s bubbas name?”
“Florence Alexandra Y/L/N.” You replied
“Oh my god, forget what I said about the no crying. You named her after me?”
“How could I not? You’re my mom Alex.” You said with a smile
“I love you two so much.”
“We love you too, Alex.”

Imagine y’all just had the fight of your lives (maybe over his dumb gun or something equally Rafe), but later when you’re lying on opposite sides of the bed, he reaches out and pulls you close and says somthing cute or annoying idk And then, oh my GOD—it’s slow, emotional, and HOT because making up with Rafe would be next-level intense. please i NEEED😫😩
OH MY GOD YES. SOME SWEET RAFE AND EVEN SWEETER MAKE UP SEX AFTER A HUGE FIGHT. NEED IT.
#2 from my drabble game
smut: penetrative sex, some praise, I love you's, unprotected sex
Rafe is in deep shit.
You know that, he knows that-- hell, even your pet beagle, Poppy knew it. For once, she bolted away the moment the front door opened, and your oh-so-handsome, conniving and deceitful boyfriend walked in instead of running towards him.
Rafe is a dead man walking. How ironic would it be if he were to die at your hands with the very same gun he'd promised you he'd gotten rid of.
His body goes rigid when he sees the weapon in your palm. A nervous gulp falls down his throat as he does his best to stand tall. "Where did you get that?" That's what he asks you, he should've never opened his mouth.
You scoff immediately, carelessly angling it around as your upset mannerisms control your arms. "Get it? You mean where did I find it." He doesn't respond which is a wise choice.
"Mr. Montogommery called me earlier, he was looking for you--said you weren't answering your phone. He asked me to leave you a message," You're pacing now, and it made Rafe nervous. You're a little crazy, but so was he. It's why you went so well together.
"Like the good girlfriend I am, I opened your office drawer for a sticky note to leave on your desk, but what did I find? The same gun you told me would never be back in the house, Rafe are you serious?!" Your arms are flailing and he's half-certain he'll catch a stray by the end of the conversation.
He steps towards you with his hands up cautiously, "Baby, give me the gun, and we can talk about this." You snap, "No! Why should I? You don't trust me with it? Why because it's dangerous? Because it could kill you! You're right, Rafe. Why didn't I think of that sooner--oh wait, I did! And you fucking lied to me, Rafe."
Your voice is enraged and bouncing off the ivory-panelled walls of the house but it dies down to a shaky one as tears threaten to spill over the brims of your eyes. "Y/n-" He holds his hand out for you, but you give him the gun instead.
You execute a sharp pivot on the tips of your toes, ready to walk away from him but he finally speaks up and you stop--not turning around, standing still, anticipating. "I'm not getting rid of the gun." It's all he says.
Had you been in the mood, you would've turned around, lounged at him and strangled him, but no, you just kept walking.
Your bedroom is freezing that night, despite it being the middle of summer, and it only gets colder everytime you glance towards Rafe as he gets ready for the bed you begrudgingly shared.
Your expression remains sour, even in your sleep, no matter how far away from your boyfriend you are. There's enough room to fit a full-grown adult between you. The isolation was holding the production of your melatonin hostage, forcing you both to lay awake, backs facing each other but hearts reaching out.
Rafe flips onto his side, staring longingly at the back of your frame. He missed you and you were right in front of him. "Baby," His voice is soft, and the pet name lands on you gently, a testament that your anger has subsided a bit.
You turn over, choosing to lie on your back and face the ceiling. You deem that he's undeserving to see your face at the moment. "I've got another gun in my nightstand." You blamed your miscomprehension on the late hours of the night because surely he did not just say what you think he said.
Rafe can see the way your chest began to rise and fall at a much more shallow pace, he had about five seconds to start explaining before you turned on him. "I told you about my past. I've done some bad things. 'Burying the hatchet' doesn't exist for everyone, and I want to be prepared for anything. When I look at a gun now, it's not a weapon anymore, it's a tool. It's protection."
Your breathing slowed, a little. He takes it as a good sign. "I can't lose you. If something happened to you when I could've prevented it, I'd never forgive myself, and I know you know that." He's right. You did know that. He dedicated his life to you, making sure that you knew that. "I shouldn't have lied about getting rid of it, and I'm sorry."
Your breathing returns to its normal pace. You lay on your side, now facing him. "Fine." Rafe scoots closer to you, a small grin working its way on his lips. "Fine?" You nod, "Yeah, fine. I forgive you, this time, but don't you ever pull some shit like this again or so help me god I will-" He quiets you with a sweet kiss.
Well, it started sweet at least.
Now you're both watching him slide in. Your warm cunt wrapped around his length delightfully. "You're fuckin' perfect, too good f'me." He groans into your ear. His muscular arms cage you in, and you've decided you'd be more than happy to die between them.
Your soft moans bounced off his brawny chest and right back in your face, "Feels so good, Rafe-" Yougaspedp as he picked up the pace, hips rolling into yours for a much deeper angle. Your back arches off the bed slightly as sweat rolls down your back and sticks to the sheets.
It wasn't long before you were both chasing your highs. Rafe always sounded so fucking hot when he was close, his deep groans pitching up to breathless whines when you purposefully clenched around him, threatening him to fill you up unrestrained. Once you came, he pulled out and finished on your heaving stomach, catching your breath.
He doesn't get off of you just yet. He balances himself on one forearm as the other hand comes up to gently move the strands of hair from your face, "I love you," he means it, his eyes say it when his mouth does. "I love you".

cw: reader death (multiple lives) but no explicit detail, my take on choso being a "curse"
choso had lived countless lifetimes, yet each felt like the same endless thread, woven with anguish and stitched with your face. the curse of memory clung to him like a shadow, unrelenting, never allowing him to forget. you were his constant, the cruel anchor to his torment, and each meeting was a bittersweet agony.
he remembered the glint of lantern light catching in your eyes, the sound of your voice weaving tales that charmed the village children.
always, he was the nameless, brave warrior in your stories, an unsung hero battling the darkness. choso had sat in the corner of the shrine one evening, his heart tight as he listened to your laughter.
“the warrior was so brave,” you said, your voice soft yet filled with admiration, “but he was lonely, wasn’t he? perhaps he needed someone to fight for.”
your words cut deeper than any blade. how could he tell you that it was you he fought for in every story? how could he explain that your imagined warrior was more real than you knew?
when the first frost of winter came, you fell ill. no offering to the gods, no prayer whispered under his breath could save you. he stayed in the shrine long after, staring at the empty space where you used to kneel, his fists clenched in helpless rage.
a lifetime later, he found you behind the heavy silk curtains of a grand throne room, a princess wrapped in gold and duty.
yet, it was your laughter, still as bright and free as ever, that made him weak. you would sneak out with him, skirt hitched just high enough to avoid the dew-laden grass, your hand clutching his as if the world didn’t matter.
“do you think i could run away?” you whispered once, your voice trembling with the weight of your station. “live out there? with you?”
“don’t,” he muttered, his jaw tightening. “don’t say things like that.”
but in his mind, he dreamed.
he dreamed of fields without boundaries, of nights without watchful eyes. it was an illusion that shattered when a marriage was arranged for you. he stood among the onlookers at your wedding, hidden behind a pillar, his heart burning as you smiled at another man.
your laughter was different this time — huskier, laced with the clinking of shot glasses and the hum of an out-of-tune piano. in the dim haze of the saloon, you played for a crowd that never seemed to appreciate your talent. but choso lingered, always. he would drop coins into the glass jar on your piano and request the same song every time.
“you like this one?” you’d ask, leaning closer with a teasing grin. “i’d think a man like you would want something faster.”
“it’s perfect,” he said, his gaze steady on yours. “play it for me again.”
you didn’t live long in that life either. a stray bullet during a brawl cut your song short. choso held your hand as you bled out, your voice fading like the final note of a melody. “don’t… let me go,” you had whispered.
but he did. again.
bright lights, neon signs, and synth music — this life was so different, yet you were still you. your smile was framed by pink lipstick and bubblegum, your hair teased high with streaks of color. choso sat in the corner booth every day, ordering the same milkshake just to see you glide over on those ridiculous skates.
“strawberry again?” you teased one day, spinning effortlessly to set the glass in front of him. “you know, for a guy like you, i’d expect something a little darker.”
he almost smiled. almost. “it’s not about the drink.”
“oh?” you leaned closer, resting your chin on your hand. “what’s it about, then?”
you. but the word stayed caught in his throat.
instead, he watched as you laughed, skating off to the next customer, always just out of reach.
now, in this life, he saw you again. modern clothes, a phone in your hand, but the same soul burning behind your eyes. you didn’t recognize him, of course.
you never did.
but he felt his chest tighten as he stood in the shadow of a crowded street, watching you smile at someone else.
“you’re cruel,” he whispered, his voice heavy with despair. “how many times do i have to lose you?”
your laughter floated through the air, untainted by the burdens of memory. you didn’t know the weight you carried for him, how many times he had watched you fade, how many times he had buried his heart.
for a moment, he let himself step closer, close enough to feel the warmth of your presence. when you turned, your gaze swept over him without recognition, and he felt his chest shatter.
“do i know you?” you asked, your head tilted in polite curiosity.
he swallowed hard. “no,” he said finally, forcing himself to step back.
“but i know you.”

Chapter 12
Felix decided to come upstairs to nap after eating. He was about to go into his room when he looked down the hall and saw your door cracked. You never leave it cracked - usually fully open if you weren’t in there. He goes to your room, knocking. No answer so he pushes the door fully open.
“Y/n?” he calls out.
Silence.
He steps inside, noticing a paper at the foot of the bed. He picks it up and reads. He reads it nearly four times, his mind reeling. He panics, running down the stairs to find Minho.
Minho had been in the living room trying to figure out the unsettling feeling he had in his stomach. It started nearly an hour ago and he’s been nauseous ever since. But why? Could it be nerves? But he never got nervous like this before.
He was so caught up in what it could be when Felix came in, interrupting his thoughts. The other packs came around after hearing Felix yelling.
“Minho!” he calls out. “Minho!”
“What? What is it Felix?”
“Y/n. She left.” he answers, holding the paper out as he pants.
“What?” Minho snatches the paper and reads it. “Shit. How did she find out?”
“She overheard someone talking about it.” Jeongin shrugged.
“How long ago since she left?” Minho asked.
“I don’t know. She told me she was going to shower after we told her she couldn’t come with us. But that was almost three hours ago.” Felix looked at his watch.
Minho shook his head. “Assuming she found her way, she would be there by now.”
“So then let’s go. We can leave now.” Jungwon spoke, standing up. His pack stood with him, ready to fight.
The other packs stood as well.
Minho nodded. “Okay. Let’s go get our pack back.”
They all headed out, getting into cars and driving over to the Nyko territory. It didn’t take long and soon they were driving up the long driveway to the pack house, parking in the front lawn. Getting out they all hurried over to the house.
“It’s awfully quiet.” Changbin whispers.
Minho nodded as the two of them walked up to the front porch. They kicked open the door, hurrying inside. A mix of the other pack members flanked, coming inside as well. The rest stayed stationed outside.
They weren’t confronted with any hybrids as they made their way through the house. It didn’t take long for them to declare it empty.
“It’s clear.” Minho called out.
The Greenridge members and all the alphas came inside.
“Where could they be?” Seungmin asked.
“Alpha Minho, you might want to see this.” Mingyu said, leading Minho to the basement, the rest of them following.
They were all quick to cover their noses at the smell, the smell of rotting flesh now mixed in with the foul smell of the basement.
“Oh my god… Our y/n was down here? Living in this her whole life?” Felix looked on in horror at the cells. They were worse than he had imagined.
Minho clenched his jaw, pushing onwards. Mingyu led them to the torture room, allowing them to look in. Changbin peeked but was quick to turn away, pushing Felix back from view. He knows Felix’s sensitive nature and doesn’t want to upset him further.
“What? What is it?” Felix asks, trying to push past him.
“It’s Lewis.” Minho says, walking past them and back up the stairs.
Felix froze, his face perplexed.
“He’s dead.” Changbin explains.
Felix’s eyes go wide.
They all go back upstairs, exiting the house. Minho’s fuming as he comes out of the house. The rest of the packs come over, wondering what happened inside.
“Lewis is dead. No one’s inside.” Seungcheol announced.
“Alpha, sir, I think I might have found something on the side of the house.” Niki said.
Minho was quick to follow.
“At first I thought it was graffiti, but I think it’s a message,” he explained when they got there.
“Blackmane?” Jeongin questioned. “They have our people?”
“Let’s hope.” Minho said. “Let’s go. We’re going to regroup and get ready for the drive.”
The packs headed back to Greenridge Manor, prepping for their travels. They didn’t know if that’s where their people were, but it was the only lead they had.
Your head was pounding, each pump of your heart making it throb. You groan, turning over and pushing your face into the pillow. The smell wasn’t familiar at all. Where were you?
You open your eyes and take in the room. The room was bigger than yours back at the pack house, having two double beds, a desk and chair, dresser with a tv on it, and a couch with a coffee table. There were curtains shutting out all but a sliver of light - just enough to tell you it was daytime.
The memories of last night come back to you, making you lean forward and massage your temples. Maybe you should have trusted them and stayed put. But then again, they would have been captured instead. Or killed.
You sigh, swinging your feet off the bed and padding over to the window. Squinting, you open the curtains more and look out. Your stomach dropped, making you stagger backwards. Why were you so high up?
Two little beeps made you whip your head around, a door opening on the other side of the room. It was then you noticed another door with a shower beyond it.
“Oh good. You’re awake.” a man said, coming inside and walking over to you. “Hungry?”
You scurried over to the side, only for him to place the plastic bags he carried on the desk. You caught his scent - another alpha. He turned to you, seeing your fearful expression.
“I’m not gonna hurt you.” He chuckled, as if your fear was silly.
You didn’t say anything as he turned back and began emptying the bags. You eyed the door, wondering if you would manage to get out before he got to you. Even then, you didn’t know what was on the other side of that door - what you would be running into.
“You can run, but I doubt you will get far,” he said condescendingly.
His back was still to you as he spoke. You roll your eyes, finding an ounce of courage to question him.
“Who are you?”
“Oh, sorry. How rude of me. I’m Reed.” He smiled warmly at you.
You looked away from him.
“Are you hungry, y/n?”
“How do you know my name?”
“Uh, I was there the day you were born…” He said as if it was obvious.
“Wh-what?”
He turned around, brows furrowed. “Did mom and dad never talk about me?”
You stared at him in bewilderment.
“I guess that’s fair. Why would they talk about me after they sent me away?” he rolled his eyes.
“I don’t have an older brother.”
“You do actually… Me. And we have a younger brother apparently. Hudson, right?”
Your heart started to beat faster. Who was this stalker?
“Please eat. You’ve been unconscious for a while. Not to mention, you threw up before that.” He says, sitting down on the couch and placing your food on the coffee table. He sat down, taking a bite of his own food.
You didn't move or say anything.
He sighs, putting down his food.
“Y/n…what’s it going to take for you to trust me? I mean you no harm.”
“Where’s Chan? Was he there with Hyunjin and Jisung?”
“Chan…? Oh, you mean Chris?” he asked.
You furrowed your brows.
“Did he not tell you his name was Chris?” Reed sat back. “How long were you with them anyways. Lewis wouldn’t shut up about you being stolen away.”
“I wasn’t stolen…” you cross your arms.
“Please don’t tell me you got Stockholm syndrome with that foolish pack,” he joked.
You felt anger course through you at the way he talked so negatively about your pack.
“They aren’t fools, they are my soulmates…my pack.” You growl. “Lewis lied, abused, and falsely marked me.”
Reed is quiet as he thinks this over. He studies you, smelling the anger and fear off you. He squints his eyes before finally going back to eating. He motioned for you to eat your food. “It’s good.”
“Where’s Chan, Hyunjin, and Jisung?”
“Safe. With the Hybrid Association.”
“Where is that?”
“Why? Do you plan on going there?”
“If I need to in order to get them back.”
“You won’t get through without clearance…which I have. So are you going to indulge me for five minutes to eat? Or keep playing hard to get?”
“How do I even know you’re my brother?”
“You were born twenty three years ago on a full moon. It was a Friday night when the moon was highest in the sky. Mom’s name is Haneul. Dad’s name is Walker. Hudson is…wait I know…five years younger than you. I don’t know that much about him considering I was sent away before you were even six months old. We lived in a little house on the hill, five minutes from town where they had the best fish cakes. Does Ms. Daisy still make them? Or did her daughter Daphne take over?”
You glare. He clearly knew a lot.
“Why’d mom and dad send you away?” you question.
“Why did they send you away?” he rebuttals.
You don’t say anything.
“They sent you away for the same reason they sent me away. Money. The packs paid them.”
“But you’re not an omega…”
“True. Omegas do go for way more, but I was sold to a pack that desperately needed an alpha heir. And they paid a handsome price for that.”
“How old were you?”
“Ten.”
“What was the pack like?” You ask, sitting on the bed.
“The pack was great. They became my family, and I took over when the old alpha passed. I am now in charge of them, leading them into years of success. You’ve heard of the Blackmane pack…”
You shake your head.
“Really? That’s a first. Everyone knows us. It’s one of the oldest and largest packs still around. We have over a hundred members, twenty subpacks under us. The Nykos included.”
“The Nykos are under your rule? Did you know I was there?”
“We don’t monitor the packs like the police. They do their own thing, but all packs under Blackmane are automatically in an alliance. So it’s against our agreement to start fights with another sub pack. That’s about as far as regulation goes. As for you, they never listed they had omegas like they should have. Now I know why. So no, I didn’t know you were there.”
“Is Greenridge one of yours?”
“No.”
“So if you don’t monitor them, then what were you doing there?”
“With my help, Blackmane climbed the rankings and became privileged members of the Hybrid Association. There was a tip called in about Lewis and his treatment of omegas a few days ago. I took the responsibility to follow up and see if it was true, seeing as they were under our pack. When we arrived, Lewis was quick to butter us up, but I saw right through him. My men rounded up the immediate members and went through the house. It was then we found a female omega, Chris, and his betas.”
“How did they look?” you stepped forward.
Reed titled his head at you. “They were beaten and bloody but fine. They could walk out on their own so I sent them and that girl to the Hybrid Association with a couple of my men.”
You breathe a sigh of relief, thankful that they were okay. “Why send them to the Hybrid Association?”
“To give a statement of what happened so the remaining Nyko members can be dealt with.” Reed went back to finishing his food.
“Why’d you kill Lewis then? Instead of giving him to the Hybrid Association?” you asked warily.
“I couldn’t bear for him to weasel his way out of a death sentence after what he did to you. So when that girl told us what he did to you three omegas, I had him chained in the basement. My men dealt with him, I gave the final blow.”
You shudder, remembering the way his body looked.
“Let’s get one thing straight. I’m not Lewis. If I hurt or kill, it’s with intention and reason, not for fun.” He sat straighter, speaking with so much authority. “I’m not a threat to you.”
You nod, thinking over his words.
“Please eat.” Reed insisted.
You finally caved, sitting down and eating. It was so good you scarfed it down. Once you both finished, he offered you a chance to shower. You showered quickly and got dressed in the clothes he left you to change into.
Once dressed, you emerged from the bathroom. He was sitting on the couch, typing on his computer with a serious face.
“Can you take me home now?” you ask, brushing your hair.
“No.”
“No? Why not?”
“Because you’re going with me.” he said, still not looking up from his computer.
“I don’t want to. I want to go home. The rest of the pack is probably so worried about me.”
“They’ll be fine.” He reached for his phone, still barely paying attention to you.
“No. They won’t. Did you forget the part about us being soulmates?”
He finally looked up. “You need to give a statement at the Hybrid Association for what you have been through.”
“Fine. After, will you take me home?”
“Yes.”
You figured you wouldn’t press the matter further and fell back on the bed. You laid there for a few more minutes until Reed declared it was time to go. You followed him down the hall, two men in front of you, two men behind.
They stopped in front of three sets of doors and pushed a button. There was a light above each door with arrows pointing up or down, flashing in time with a beeping sound. One of the doors opened, revealing a small room. They led you inside, and you looked around nervously.
“Never been in an elevator, I’m assuming.” Reed smiled over at you.
“No.” you mumbled,
The doors shut and you felt the room shake. You nearly jumped out of your skin, grabbing Reed’s arm tight.
“It’s alright. It’s just lowering us to the ground floor.” Reed said, resting his hand on yours that was gripping his bicep. “We are going to have to work on your exposure to the world.”
“Blame your minion.” you grumble.
“Oh I do. I just regret not making him suffer longer.”
Part you wished you had been here. Sure you might not have stomached it but to see him struggle and get what he deserved…it would have been satisfying.
The room finally stopped moving, bouncing slightly before the doors opened. You stepped out, seeing a whole different area. It felt like you had teleported.
“Come.” he beckoned with a small smile.
You followed Reed to the car, climbing in the backseat of the Escalade. As the suv peeled away from the hotel, you looked out the window. You didn’t recognize anything around you and it made you wonder.
“How far from Greenridge are we?”
“Couple hours.” Reed shrugged. “But it’s about to be more.”
“More? But I need to tell them I’m okay. That I’ll be back.”
“Do you have their number to call?”
“No…”
“Then how did you plan on telling them?”
You shrug. You had no way of reaching them.
“State your name for the record.” a man said in a bored tone.
“Bang Chan.”
“Please tell us what happened last night to the best of your knowledge.” he muttered, two other gentlemen sitting on either side of him.
“Of course. Well, it actually started earlier that morning when I-”
“Mr. Bang, we are just here to collect your testimony as to what occurred at the Nyko Pack’s main house last night.” the man interrupted.
“This is important information relating to last night’s events, sir.”
“If we need the extra information, we will ask for it.” the man stated.
Chan cleared his throat. “Last night, Hyunjin, Jisung, and myself were locked in cells in Lewis's basement. We had been sedated and were just coming to. Lewis pulled me from my cell, chaining me to a wall in a separate room. He had a cattle prod that he used to shock me repeatedly. He wanted us to suffer, but also wanted to use us as bait for y/n to come back.”
“Who’s y/n?”
“She was an omega he held captive in his basement, tortured and abused for years.”
“Why would he treat his omega like that?”
“She’s not his omega. And it wasn’t just her he abused. There were two others treated the same. I don’t know what compelled him to do such heinous acts.”
The three of them began to scribble on their papers.
“And how do you know this to be true?”
“She came onto our property. I saw the scars and injuries first hand.”
“What injuries?”
“His brothers liked to hunt her for sport, which they did the night we found her. She had silver and cobalt pellets embedded in her skin from them using her as target practice.”
The men scribbled more notes.
“Is she still in your care?” the man on the left asked.
“Yes.”
“And you didn’t return her, why?” the center man asked.
“She’s our soulmate.”
“Our?”
“All of my pack felt the soulmate bond, myself included.”
Jotting notes once more.
“What happened next?” The man to the right asked.
“We had our pack doctor, Doctor Quinn assist our medic, Felix, in caring for y/n. They removed the pellets, gave her an IV and let her heal. Slowly she learned to trust us. We helped her settle in, make a nest and now she’s feeling like part of the pack.”
“Is she marked?”
“Not by us.”
All three men looked up, confused. “Elaborate.”
“Lewis marked her.”
“Was he a soulmate as well?”
“Y/n said she never felt the pull with him the way she did with us.”
They wrote down more notes, shaking their heads.
“We’ve gotten a little sidetracked. Let’s get back to last night. After Lewis tortured you, what happened.”
“His brothers, Hayes and Milo came down as well…”
“Well well…look at the true alpha now.” Hayes taunted.
“Not so tough now, are you?” Milo snickered.
Chan was panting and shirtless, now suspended from the ceiling by his wrists. His skin was sweaty and bloodied from the lashes Lewis just delivered.
“Got nothing to say?” Milo asked, circling Chan.
Chan spit at the ground right in front of Milo. Milo punched him in the ribs, smiling at him.
“That wasn’t very nice, Chris.”
“Stop calling me that.” Chan growled.
“Look, Hayes. He’s getting angry.”
Hayes smirks, coming closer. He gets directly in Chan’s face, forcing him to look up at him.
“Such a pathetic alpha…” Hayes taunts. “You can’t even protect your pack.”
As if on cue, the cries of Hyunjin and Jisung echo down the hall. Their pained screams tug at Chan’s heart.
“And soon enough…that little omega will be ours once more. I do enjoy fucking her sweet little cunt. Tell me, have you had the pleasure yet?” Hayes tilted his head at Chan.
Chan was seething, his chest heaving as he took deep breaths. His eyes were bloodshot, pupils red with fury. His jaw was clenched and his hands bawled into fits. The chains above him groaned as he pulled down on them. Hayes threw his head back, laughing.
“She’s quite a prude if you ask me. So if you really want a taste…” Hayes leaned into Chan’s space once more, whispering, “you’re gonna have to take it. And when you do, those sweet sounds she makes…..ugh the tears and whines as she begs you to stop. You know she secretly loves it. She gets so wet and-”
SNAP.
The chains holding Chan’s wrists snap apart, leaving a few links dangling from his wrists as they drop. His hands are immediately around Hayes’s neck, forcing him backwards to the stone wall. Milo was quick to jump in, attempting to pull Chan off his brother. Haye’s eyes flash panic as he feels the strength in Chan’s iron grip.
Chan releases one hand to shake off the pest that is Milo, shoving him to the ground. Hayes grips Chan’s remaining hand with both his hands, still not strong enough to pry him off.
Chan now gets in Hayes’s face, gripping his neck so tight his face was starting to turn purple.
“You will never….ever get to touch my girl again.” Chan growled through gritted teeth.
With a flick of Chan’s wrist and a crack sound coming from Hayes’s neck, it was done. Chan threw his limp body to the ground, turning around and seeing Milo standing there in shock.
“How dare you!” Milo charged at Chan
Chan was quick to duck out of the way, quickly turning around to face Milo, hand grazing the table. Milo yelled, turning around and lunging at him once more. Chan lifted his arm and stabbed a knife into Milo’s neck.
Milo froze. Chan yanked it out, blood spraying out. Milo was quick to clutch his neck, looking dumbfounded at Chan who just watched emotionlessly. Chan’s face and chest was splattered in blood, Milo dropping to his knees as blood poured from his neck. Toppling over, Milo too was now dead.
The room was silent.
“It was then some of the men from the Blackmane pack came in, rescuing me and my betas. They also rescued the omega girl left behind, and sent us all here.” Chan continued.
“I see.” the one in the center said. “And you’re aware of the laws we have in place, correct.”
“Yes, sir. I know it sounds bad. But I only acted in self-defense. They were hurting me and my betas. Plus they also-”
“Unfortunately, Mr. Bang…” the man on the right sighed, removing his glasses. “We know your history with these kinds of things. You are a power hungry alpha and many have fallen at your hands.”
“Sir, I-” “Christopher Bang. Did you think we didn’t know your last name? Or your alias ‘Chan’?” The gentleman on the left spoke, rising from his chair. “You killed your own brother and now two members of a neighboring pack - one being an alpha. Our first law is ‘Thou shalt not kill one’s hybrid brethren’ or did you forget?”
Chan swallowed, before shaking his head.
“Take him away.” the one in the center waved his hand.
Two guards from the back of the room stepped forward, grabbing Chan by the arms.
“Wait. Please, this is a misunderstanding.”
“You would do well mind your manners and go willingly. Any protest will not help your case.” the man on the right cautioned.
So Chan left willingly, the two guards leading him to a holding cell. It looked more like an interrogation room, having a two way mirror on one wall. There was, however, a cot on the opposite wall, a toilet and sink with a smaller mirror next to it.
Once they were gone, Chan groaned. He looked into the small mirror, seeing the blood still decorating his skin. His eyes flash red and he punches the glass, shattering his reflection. Pulling his fist back, he plucks a few shards of glass from his knuckles. His hand bled a little so he turned on the water to wash his hands, splashing water on his face in an effort to wash off the remaining blood.
Hyunjin, Jisung, and the omega named Piper all gave their statements of what happened as well. Hyunjin managed to convince them to allow a phone call to their pack. They knew everyone was probably worried sick and needed to hear from them. On top of that, they desperately wanted to get back home. He held Jisung’s hand as they called together, luckily remembering Minho’s cell number.
“Hello?” Minho asked warily.
“Min? It’s Hyunjin.” They hear him let out a big exhale.
“Where are you guys? Are you okay?” Minho asked in a serious tone.
“We’re okay. We’re at the Hybrid Association headquarters.” Hyunjin answered.
“What are you doing there?”
“A pack rescued us. They sent us here to explain what happened last night.” Jisung said.
“They wanted you to explain Lewis’s death?” Minho questioned.
“Lewis is dead?” Jisung nearly yelled.
“Yes. You didn’t know?”
“No. We were here because Chan killed Hayes and Milo.” Hyunjin whispered.
“He did?”
“Yes. They had us in chains and were torturing us. But Chan snapped, breaking free and killing them.”
“I bet y/n is relieved. She didn’t witness it, did she?” Minho asked.
“Y/n? She’s not with us.” Jisung stated.
“She’s not with you?” Hyunjin asked.
Minho was silent, clenching his jaw.
“Min?” Hyunjin looked to Jisung.
“She ran off last night to rescue you guys. We came shortly after, but we were too late. The house was empty. We found Lewis’s body though. We…we assumed she was with you guys.” Minho explained.
“We never saw her. It must have been the pack that found us that has her.”
“They probably killed Lewis too.” Minho said. “Where’s Chan?”
“Um…in a holding cell.” Hyunjin admitted.
“What!?” Minho yelled, making them jerk from the phone.
“They won’t let us see him.” Jisung whined. “Maybe it has something to do with Hayes and Milo?”
Minho was silent. He wondered if the real reason was Chan’s past coming to haunt him once more. After a few moments, Minho spoke. “We will be there shortly to get you. Then we are heading to the Blackmane pack. We believe they have y/n.”
“Blackmane? That was the pack that helped us.” Hyunjin noted. “They were nice people.”
“Then why haven’t they returned y/n?” Minho asked, doubting the kind nature of the Blackmane pack.
“Our time’s up. See you soon.” Hyunjin said.
“We are on our way.” Minho assured them.
Hyunjin and Jisung then followed a gentleman down the hall. They headed down the hall which opened up to a corridor that was well lit with natural light from all the windows. The ceiling was ten stories up from the bottom and glass with a huge chandelier hanging from the center. The halls opened up to the sides, walkways that wrapped around the corridor in a circular design. The center was open through all the levels, the walkway inclined to bring you up to each level.
They headed up the walkway to the upper levels from level three which overlooked the reception desk below. The employee led them up to level four and they turned down the hall.
Downstairs, Reed and you walk in. He smiles at the receptionist, guiding you up the walkway. You get to level three and Reed leads you down a hall towards a small room designed like a courtroom.
“I’ll be right here when you’re done. You can do this.”
You take a deep, nodding. You step inside, standing in front of three gentlemen.
“State your name for the record.” the man said.
“Um… y/n y/l/n.”
“What are you here to discuss?”
“Alpha Lewis and…um…his mistreatment of omegas.” you say, twiddling your fingers.
“Y/n…as in the omega who escaped the Nyko pack?” the one on the right asked.
“Ym…yes?” you say.
“Speak up, honey. We can barely hear you.”
“Yes.” you speak louder.
“Okay. Where would you like to start?”
It took nearly an hour to go over everything he did to you while in his house. They questioned you about a lot of details, some hard to talk about. They asked you about your time and treatment during the period you were with the Greenridge pack as well. You confirmed the soulmate connection and talked very highly of everyone. The men just nodded, taking notes to look over later.
Chan paced restlessly in his cell. Of course they knew who he was. And now they had him trapped, soon to face trial most likely. What was he going to do? He had to find a way to prove he didn’t kill his brother. He wouldn’t have become a true alpha if he had.
Plan after plan swirled around his head as he tried to figure out how to get back home to his pack - to you. It was then his thoughts were interrupted, a voice speaking into the intercom.
“Well, well.” The voice taunted.
The hairs on the back of Chan’s neck stood tall. He froze, eyes wide. He knew that voice.
“Seems the alpha finally got caught.”
“You.” Chan growled.
“What about me?”
“You were there. You’re the one who killed my brother.” “Still spilling that lie? What makes you think it was me?”
“I know your voice.”
“Do you? It would be wrong for you to falsely accuse an innocent person.”
“You’re not innocent.”
“And neither are you, I hear.”
Chan glared at the two way mirror, being only met with his reflection. The man's words rang true as Chan took in his reflection.
“Tell me Chris…or Chan if that’s what you prefer now.” the voice continued. “How much longer do you think your pack will follow you when they learn the truth of what you’ve done?”
Chan’s hand balled into fists, rage coursing through him. Only Minho knew the truth about his past. How his brother was killed right in front of him. How the killer ran off before anyone else showed up, Chan being left there looking guilty. No one wanted to believe the alpha who always boasted about having his own pack. Instead, they called him greedy, power hungry, and ruthless. He’s never been able to prove them wrong, not having seen the face of his brother’s killer. But one day, he always dreamt, he would expose the truth.
“You’re a murderer. They aren’t going to follow a murderer.” the man continued.
Chan growled, banging his fists on the glass and causing the man to just laugh.
Once you finished your statement, you came out to see Reed working on his phone. Okay, not working. More like nodding off. You smiled, coming over and shaking his shoulder. He jumped awake, looking around frantically.
“Oh. You’re done?” he asked, putting his phone in his pocket.
“Yep. They said I was free to go.”
“Great. Let’s go.”
You followed him back down the walkway and out the front doors. You got in the suv, eager to go back to your pack. You missed them terribly and felt a deep need to see them. You wanted to assure them you were okay and hopefully get Minho to stop blaming himself.
“Hungry?” Reed asked.
You shook your head.
“You don’t eat much, do you?”
You shrug. “I just want to get home.”
“Suit yourself.” Reed shrugged too, going back to his phone as the driver peeled off from the Hybrid Association.
Not even five minutes after your departure, Minho pulls up. The packs wait outside while Minho and Changbin go inside for their people. The receptionist directed them to level two. They followed her directions, finding themselves in a lounge. Off to the side, they located their boys.
“Jinnie, Ji!” Minho calls.
They both come rushing over, jumping into their waiting arms. They hug each other tight, Minho pulling back to examine them.
“I’m okay.” Hyunjin says.
“Good.” Minho says, kissing him briefly before checking over Jisung as Changbin holds him close.
Changbin kisses his check, rubbing his back as Jisung relaxes into his hold. Minho then ushers them to the car, staying behind at the desk as they walk off with Changbin.
Minho turns around, his smile gone from his face. He marches up to the front desk, all pleasantries gone.
“I want to visit someone.”
“What’s the name?” the older lady asks.
“Bang Chan.”
“I’m sorry, son. He’s not allowed visitors.”
“What?! No, I’m his right hand alpha.”
“I’m sorry. Your rank doesn’t matter here.”
“Is there someone I can speak to about this?” Minho asks, exasperated.
“That would be Mr. Park. His office is on level three.”
Minho marches up the walkway, and finds his way to Mr. Park’s office. He knocks on the door, but no answer.
“Can I help you?” a gentleman asks, coming up from behind Minho.
“I’m looking for Mr. Park.”
“That’s me. What can I do for you?”
“I’m here to see Bang Chan.”
“I’m afraid he’s in lockup, pending trial.”
“I know. I want to visit him?”
“Those pending a trial are not allowed visitors.”
“He didn’t do it. His brother was killed by someone else.”
“I’m afraid I cannot discuss the case with you.”
“I’m his second in command, current Alpha in Greenridge until he returns, Lee Minho.”
“Sorry Minho. Those are the rules.”
“Your rules are bullshit!”
“You’d do well to watch your tone.”
Minho grabbed the man by his collar, shoving him back into the wall. A nearby security officer stepped forward but Mr. Park raised his hand to stop him.
“Let go or you will be in a holding cell of your own.”
Minho growled, releasing the man and storming off. He flipped a stack of chairs in the process, scaring those passing by. He was livid to say the least.
Upon exiting the building, Changbin turned to see his mate.
“What happened?”
“He’s pending trial. So no visitors.”
“Pending trial for what?” Seungmin asked.
“Killing Hayes and Milo probably.” Hyunjin said in a quiet voice.
“And his brother.” Minho added, face void of emotion.
They all looked at him confused.
“We should talk.” Minho sighed, deciding it was time they knew the truth.
You were in fact hungry, but didn’t want to admit it now after you told him no thirty minutes ago. Unfortunately, home would be another three ish hours of a drive to get to. Ugh you were going to have to speak up.
You turned to Reed, who was typing on his computer next to you, but noticed a giant mansion out the window. The car turned, stopping at a large gate that opened.
“Where are we?” you asked.
“Home.” Reed said.
“This isn’t Greenridge. You said you would take me home.”
“Yes, I did. I didn’t say to your home.”
You stared dumbfounded at him as the car pulled up under a carriage and stopped. Reed moved to get out, noticing you not moving.
“Come on. I’ll show you to your room”
“No.”
“No?”
“You tricked me.”
Reed sighed. “Come inside. I have some things to tend to. You can eat while I do that. Then we can freshen up and change clothes. Then I’ll see about taking you home.”
He winked at you before exiting the car. Groaning, you get out. You were hungry so you’d allow him to feed you first. He will be taking you home to your mates after that.

The screen of your phone lit up from where it sat on the dashboard of Jungwoo’s spaceship, and you immediately grabbed it. It was Donghyuck, and at this point, you would’ve taken your bestie ‘SPAM LIKELY’ to get you out of here.
“Hey, it’s Hyuck, you got it here?” You asked Jungwoo, already on your feet.
“Yes, I’ll be okay,” Jungwoo confirmed, eyes momentarily leaving the screen to meet yours.
You clambered out of the hatch with haste, taking off into the trees. Hastily sending Donghyuck a text that you’d call him back in a minute, you practically bolted back up the cliffside to get to the road before doing just that.
Hyuck picked up before it could even ring once, not wasting any time, “Hey, how’s our pet alien?”
“He has a name,” you retorted, still out of breath.
“He doesn’t seem to mind when I call him that.”
“He probably doesn’t understand how derogatory it could be. His language might not have a direct equivalent for the concept.”
“Yeah, whatever, how is he?”
“Fine. All of his wounds have healed.”
Your friend’s tone immediately shifted. “You sound weird. What’s going on?”
“Nothing!” You insisted.
“Y/N.”
“Promise not to tell anyone?”
“Sure.”
And so after explaining your situation to Donghyuck to the best of your ability, you waited with bated breath for his response.
“Oh my God, he’s going to lay his eggs in you,” he gasped.
“Hyuck! Gross!” You hissed, half-ready to hang up right then.
“I’ve seen enough alien movies to know where this is going.”
“Or watched too much weird porn.”
“You didn’t laugh at my joke, clearly you’re in crisis, sorry.” His apology sounded sincere.
You sighed, staring down into the trees below you that you knew contained a spaceship and spaceman that weren’t from here, that didn’t belong here. “I mean, he’s still fixing his ship to leave…”
“What if he plans on abducting you and taking you with him?”
“Stop it!” You scolded him again. “Jungwoo wouldn’t do that.”
“You seriously think he’ll just leave his mate behind?”
“You are way too comfortable saying that word.”
“This is not about my nighttime proclivities.”
“If I told him to, yeah, I think he would. He’s been super respectful, all things considered.”
“Okay… whatever…”
You were worried. Jungwoo had continued fixing his ship, but with each passing day, you swore he was looking worse again. He said his wounds had completely healed inside and out, but the pallor of his skin didn’t look right, he was moving slower again, and he didn’t eat as much at meals. You took a risk and took him there during the day today, not wanting to risk drawing out his stay on Earth any longer than necessary.
Just getting him down to the ship today was perilous, as he tripped going down the last of the hillside. A rock had cut his arm, thankfully not very deep, but the sight of the deep blue blood did nothing to calm your anxious mind. He let you take a second to use a first aid kit in the ship on him, but then was right back to business as usual, fixing his ship.
“How’s it coming along?” You asked, hovering over him worriedly as he sat on the floor, working on a panel under the control console.
“It’s almost done,” he informed you quietly.
“Jungwoo, you don’t look okay.”
“I’m fine.”
“Is it the hydrogen? Or something else that you can’t get on Earth?” You went to press the back of your hand to his forehead. It was sticky with sweat, but simultaneously cold and clammy. “Shit, dude, you feel awful.”
“I’m—I’ll be fine.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I just need to get back to-to Galaria.”
“Okay, yeah,” you nodded. “Let’s get you back. You said it’s almost done. What else do you need?”
“One of your friends is a mechanic?”
“Yeah, Yuta. He fixes cars.” You were slightly alarmed that he apparently couldn’t remember which one.
Jungwoo held out a long, thin black tube to you. “Could you ask him if he has something like this? Twice as long?”
“Of course! I'll go right now!” You took the tube from him. “You stay right here. Rest, okay?”
He nodded, leaning against the panel and shutting his eyes.
You ran into Yuta’s auto shop, skidding to a stop and nearly crashing into a bench and toolbox, drawing the attention of everyone in the shop. Every head whipped over to look at you, and Yuta pushed himself out from under a truck on the far side of the shop.
“Yuta!” You dashed over to him, ignoring the attempts at conversation from his coworkers as you ran by them.
“Off-limits, assholes!” Yuta yelled back at them before focusing on you again, grabbing a rag to wipe his hands off. “Y/N, what are you doing here?”
“It’s Jungwoo, he needs something like this, but double the length.” You held the tube out to him. “Do you have anything like it? I’ll pay for it.”
Yuta inspected it with a furrowed brow, and you dropped your voice even lower as the sounds of the auto shop rose again.
“Please, he’s-he’s really not doing well. I don’t know how much longer he can be here, Yuta. Something about Earth, it’s not good for him. I’m really worried.”
“Yeah, I would be if I were you.” Yuta handed the tube back to you, then crossed his arms over his chest. “I gave him a part just like that two days ago. He said it was the last piece he needed.”
“What?!” Your heart fell to the pit of your stomach.
“I gave him a new brake hose two days ago. Unless he blew it up again, this isn’t it.”
“I’ve got to go.” You took off towards the door of the garage. “Bye, Yuta! Thanks!”
“See you around!”

Crash Out - Sabina
hi. this one is pretty dark. heres some backstory on paris’s parents. it’s about forced marriage and offscreen/implied forced pregnancy and rape. nothing sexually explicit is depicted, just implied. heavy overtones of domestic violence as well.
(Content: abduction, lady whump, forced marriage, physical abuse, familial whump, royal whump, intimate whumper, defiant whumpee, domestic violence, starvation, referenced child endangerment, implied noncon, suicide, poisoning, death, unhappy ending)
“Oh shit,” Paris sat up in the passenger seat, pushing the sunglasses up off his eyes. “I’ve been here before.”
The city below glowed in the early morning light, pale and crystalline. The glass spires jutted out from the soft grass. It looked cold, somehow. Twinkling. Lorelai had never seen a town look so fragile. She’d have never thought to describe one that way if she had not seen it herself.
“What?” she asked. “On conquest?”
“No,” he answered huffily, as if this were an unreasonable assumption to make.
“With my mom,” he explained, looking off into the middle distance. “Her family’s from here.”
Lorelai slid out of the car, slamming the door shut behind her. He followed her out, down the smooth stones that made up the pathway into the city center.
It was a pleasantly cool day, but the architecture made the whole scene feel wintery. She imagined that she was entering into a kingdom of ice. She remembered Thales, how cold it had been on the night of the ball. As she slipped her hand into Paris’s own — the non-dominant, the less injured one — she felt the same chill. It wasn’t all unpleasant. There was a beauty to it.
All it had to be was a supply run. The imperial currency was standardized, good enough for all the planets in its territory. The further out they got, the more open the locals became to haggling. She leaned forward against the counter of the fruit stand. The vendors liked her. Everyone always liked her.
After a while of staring off into the hillside, Paris propped one arm against the barrel.
“You know where I can find a Selene Lucia?” he asked them.
They were nice enough to draw up a map, the pencil carving a path up into the hills. No exact address, but Paris swore he’d know it when he saw it. By her estimate, if he’d come with his mother, he hadn’t been here since he was seven years old.
The pale buildings petered out on the climb, the houses became sparser, more residential. In time, he really did abandon the map, working purely off the distant memory.
The trees shaded the sidewalk. She traced her fingers along the black fence that divided the path from the lawns, listening to the pleasant vibration it made in her fingers. The leaf canopy cleared for a split second as they passed another gate.
“This is it,” Paris said abruptly. He stared at it dumbfounded.
“You think she still lives here?” Lorelai asked, frowning.
“Don’t see why not.”
Neither of them moved.
“Are you coming?” he asked. It seemed like he already knew the answer.
“…If you want,” she offered. He shook his head. The one and only time she had met his father, it hadn’t gone well. She didn’t want much to do with his family.
“Call me if you need help,” he said as he pushed the gate open.
“You too.” She nodded, heading back down the hill. The sun was higher in the sky now. The city reflected it straight into her eyes, nearly blinding her.
~
“Oh, god,” Selene Lucia said as soon as she opened the door.
“Hi,” Paris said, pleasantly surprised to even be recognized.
She pulled him into the house, slamming the door shut behind him.
“Are you being followed?” she asked.
“Uh, no, ma’am. Don’t think so. Not now.” Paris ran one hand through his hair.
“What are you doing here?” She narrowed her eyes. Her face had creased from years of that same, skeptical motion.
“I don’t know,” he admitted, “I was in the area. I just wanted to stop by.”
He needed to do laundry, too. He decided not to mention that now.
Selene sighed. There was some relief there, he could tell. Maybe she thought he’d come asking for more.
He looked around at the house. It was smaller than he remembered, but still nice. Light filtered in through the sheer curtains.
She led him into the violet-colored kitchen, the dark sharpness of him clashing against the scene. She’d been working when he knocked — and this she resumed. He leaned back against the counter, rocking gently against it, watching the knife cut thin lines through the stalks.
“Do you need me to do anything?” he offered. She shook her head. He shrugged, looking back down at the linoleum.
“You’re wanted in five hundred different territories,” she said.
Five hundred sixty one.
“Yeah,” he said, not looking up. For some reason, he hadn’t thought that’d be her first reaction.
“It’s your father’s fault, you know. Leaving everything in the air like that. It wouldn’t have happened if he-“
“-if he believed he could die?” Paris finished. He’d had the same thought, a million times over.
She made a soft and exasperated sound — and said nothing else.
“You didn’t…call or anything. After he died,” he said tentatively.
“We had no contact,” Selene said.
“My phone number is public record,” Paris said, not hiding the hurt in his voice. He leaned forward, his arms crossed over his midsection. She didn’t turn to look at him.
“I don’t know why you’d expect that from me,” she said.
“I didn’t.” He shrugged. “I just…I don’t know. It would’ve been nice.”
“Would it?” She asked, turning now.
He frowned. What was he supposed to say to that? He hadn’t even realized he wanted it until he entered the house. It hadn’t occurred to him at all.
“I don’t know why you didn’t,” he said. “You didn’t call me when she died, either. You didn’t reach out at all.”
She seemed to lose her resolve then. She signed, nodding her head in the direction of the kitchen table. He sat down where indicated. The whorls of wood grain stared back up at him. Their shapes had mesmerized him when he was little.
“Is ginger tea fine?” She asked as she lit the last of the stove’s burners.
“Yes, ma’am.” He agreed, though he knew he wouldn’t drink it. He tried not to drink from any open containers — and he watched her hands carefully as she prepared it, wary of pills, wary of poison.
She placed two pale yellow teacups down on the table. Powder blue chinoiserie decorated the edges of the saucers. Steam floated delicately off the golden surface of the water.
“Do you know how your parents met, Paris?”
~
On a morning wet with dewdrops, Selene and Sabina tread happily through the underbrush. The sky was pale and overcast, but the sweaters their mother had knit for them kept them warm and comfortable. Sabina picked at the roses and the sweet briar that bloomed out of the damp earth. Twin blonde braids fell down her back. They were stained with mud at the edges when she’d bent down to touch the grass.
Selene watched the skies with a kind of dormant worry. There was something she was always waiting for, but never really expected. But it had come anyway. It had landed last month.
There was a place the land crested, the point at which the forest gave way to the clear valley. When they were little, they had dragged their sleds out to it on snowy days and laughed as they flew down the hill.
With the easy familiarity of someone who had walked this path since birth, Sabina moved to the top of the ridge. She was startled to find that in the valley below, a large ship was parked. It was more expensive than anything she’d ever laid her eyes on.
All dressed in scarlet against the verdant grass, a man stood tall and impervious. For a split second, his eyes fell on her. And that was all he needed.
~
The Emperor arrived in fine robes, in the middle of town, all his footmen swarming in droves about him. His color was pale, in a way that is supernatural. Not at all sickly. He was in good health.
In the market, Selene crowded closer to the exit, while all Sabina seemed to want to do was stand her ground. The Emperor fixed his eyes on her, matching her boldness. His hands didn’t shake the way hers did, but the length of her was all resistance.
He liked it.
“Briar Rose,” he said, sing-song, “Was that you in the canyon the other day?”
Unbelievably, his hand moved to trace her braids. She smacked it away, teeth bared, furious.
“Go fuck yourself,” Sabina hissed.
All she got in return was a chuckle. It was the sound birds made when the bullet missed their heart.
~
The knock came in the middle of the night, with only Selene up to answer it. She peeked through the curtain, and immediately drew far back, down onto the carpet.
“Daddy,” she cried, in a pitch she had not reached since childhood.
He came instantly and sent her back to her room, far from the thin door that separated their house from nightfall. But her room was right by the entrance. She pressed her ear to the ground to listen.
“Would you accept a dowry?” came the low drawl of the Emperor. “For the youngest. The blonde one.”
“She is my daughter,” Father’s voice came out wrathful in return. “You can take the rest of the world - god knows you already have - but you will not touch her.”
“I would take good care of all of you,” he promised. “I don’t mean to distress her. I think it’d be best if we were all on the same page about this.”
Milky, sick. Selene cried until she couldn’t breathe, then cried more. Sabina slept in the next room, fast asleep, unknowing.
~
Roses. There were thousands of them, clogging up the yard, on each surface of the porch. Roses, roses, roses. The scent was overpowering. It was like something out of a nightmare. When she moved to open the door that morning, Sabina met a stiff resistance. That was thick the petals were stacked.
They came with a note. Father snatched it away before Selene could read, but Sabina had seen it.
She heard her sister crying down the hall. She watched it through a crack in the door.
“I don’t wanna go,” Sabina sobbed, “Mama, I don’t wanna go, please.”
She hid her face in the fabric of their mother’s dress, bent over on the floor, inconsolable. Already flinching away from any touch.
~
“You will come quietly,” the Emperor said, “Or you will come in chains. It makes no difference to me.”
Sabina swung at him as if she could knock his head straight off. It took five men to drag her off in those glistening, golden chains. She was soaked with sweat and tears, an awful slickness, a thrashing.
~
Castle Thales was dark in wintertime — and to her starved body, each room was freezing. Each door had a lock — and she had no keys.
He left her in her own bedroom the first nights. Locked up there, hands bound, until she was ready to *calm down*. He’d thought it would take days. It ended up taking months. It was only when the food stopped that she became handleable.
Sabina glared daggers at him. Her hands shook too much to hold utensils. He thought it was from fear, but it was all just fury.
She dreamt of killing him nightly.
~
“It won’t be as bad as you think,” Constantine promised her as he lifted the veil. “It does not have to be this hard. You make it this way.”
She glared and glared and glared and flinched as his hand traced her bare arm. She was too pale now. She’d been locked away from the sun for too long. Now her skin was as white as the ripped wedding dress.
“You’re a queen now,” he said, like it comes as an assurance. She wanted nothing more than to beat him until he stopped breathing.
“You could have all you ever dreamed of,” he said. He doesn’t know her at all. Tears formed in her eyes before she could stop them. He moved to wipe them away for her. She bit into his hand as hard as she could and grinned when she drew blood. It was the first time she’d smiled in months.
~
She was slapped violently for that, which surprised her, because up to this point he had seemed so hesitant to hit her in the face. He threatened to yank all her teeth out, replace them with dentures, and take them out whenever he decided she’d lost the privilege.
This seemed unattractive, which gave her reason to doubt the threat. But she could not call his bluff, so she stopped biting.
One of his men whipped her back until it was bloody. She hated it. She reveled in it. She was making him so mad.
She cried as the maids worked to cover the bruises, the skin still tender even at the soft touch of the brushes. The crying wet her face. They had to keep restarting.
There was no need to cover up the whip marks. The corset did it all on its own — coarse, scratching, irritating the unhealed skin. The maids undid her long braids. Her hair reached all the way to her waist now.
She reached out for the scissors on the vanity and cut it all off.
~
He was mad he couldn’t pull her hair anymore. He could bunch it up by her scalp, but it wasn’t the same. His was a cold anger. He probably liked to think of it as controlled. He loved to think of himself as controlled.
“It looks good on you, darling,” Nezu said over dinner, just to piss them both off. Sabina made a gagging sound in the back of her throat. She reached for the unused knife by her right napkin and wields it menacingly. As menacingly as she could manage, which turned out to be a lot.
Nezu looked excited at the prospect of getting stabbed by her. In disgust, she put the knife back down.
“Picked a good one,” he said approvingly, just as soon as the Emperor rejoined them.
~
“Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!” Sabina held the saber in both hands. It was decorative, plucked straight off the wall, but it still held an edge. It could still kill. She meant to. She really meant to.
“You are unwell,” Constantine said. “You don’t know what’s good for you. You don’t know when to quit.”
She lunged at him. He gasped and darted away. She’d only missed him by an inch. She howled in frustration.
If they’d trained her, she’d have been a brilliant fighter. But they hadn’t. And she wasn’t. She left all of herself exposed for the next lunge — and he downed her.
“I’ll kill you,” she swore, with his hands wrapped tight around her throat. “If it’s the last thing I do, I swear, I’ll kill you”
“Sabina,” he cooed sadly. “Rose. All I want is for you to be happy.”
“I want you to fucking die,” she sobbed.
It was a final hurrah, one last gift to herself. When the sobbing died down, there was nothing else left.
~
The baby came a year later. He’d stopped hitting her while she was pregnant. She did not know if this was temperance, or if it was merely because she’d stopped fighting. They’d both been reluctant to resume the old routine. The baby changed things. It was soft, pliant. So easy to break. Sabina cried when she held it for the first time, cried every day after that. It had kneaded at her chest, half-blind, sleepy. It didn’t know anything.
“Constantine?” She said softly as he swapped out the bandages. The Emperor up in surprise. She so rarely used his name.
But when he did look, she didn’t know what else to say. The terror must have shown through her. She felt all her body was wretched, torn apart, aching. She couldn’t take anymore.
He seemed to recognize this. He never hit her again.
~
Years passed before she saw her family again. When her son is five years old, she brought him back to that porcelain city, back to her parent’s old house. Both of them dead now, the million wars ravaging even when she cannot see them. She didn’t get to go to the funeral.
She’s stopped crying so much at this point. There’s a dignity to her, one she’s managed to scrape up off the floor of the palace. She was the tough one. She always had been.
She sat up in her sister’s kitchen, drinking ginger tea, manicured nails tapping softly at the porcelain cup. Selene sat across from her, pale, as if she’d seen a ghost.
~
They wrote letters after that. Constantine had agreed to it, perhaps sensing that his wife had no bone for conspiracy left within her. She was locked into it now, more than she ever had been before.
There’s a desperation to her script. God, she was so unhappy. Selene wrote back just as soon as the mail was delivered, sent it out the same day. It was all she could do. It never seemed to amount to much.
Sabina hinted at it. Selene swore she knew the end.
There’s a flower that grows in the garden of Castle Thales. It is indistinguishable from the heritage rose, but a single blossom could kill when ingested.
When they did the autopsy, they found fifteen of them in her stomach.
~
Paris stared back at her from across the table, totally frozen. The teacup sat in front of him cold and untouched.
“She died of sepsis,” he said slowly, emphasizing each word.
Selene looked at him with such pity that he thought he might be sick.
“She died of sepsis,” he repeated, “Slowly. In the hospital. She didn’t commit suicide.”
“Paris,” she said softly, “It took a week, didn’t it? Did you see her before the end?”
He propped one elbow up on the table and hid his face in his hand.
“I was at school,” he muttered. “She was already comatose when I got there. She died the next day.”
“I’m sorry,” she said.
And of course she said it now, thirteen years later. She wasn’t there when it happened. Nobody was. There was absolutely nothing.
“You understand, surely,” Selene said, “why I was not so devastated to hear of your father’s death.”
There was still something so haunted in her look. He couldn’t bring himself to look up from the wood whorls. He didn’t even hear her standing up. He flinched at the sudden brush at his hand, gentle as it was. She tilted his face up as if to study him.
“God, you look just like her.”
The doorbell rang. Selene startled.
“I thought you said you were alone.”
“She’s my friend.” He stood up quickly. “She’s the only one.”
He opened the door. Lorelai stood cheerily on the step.
“Look what I got.” She grinned. She held up her hand at his eye level and let the necklace dangle from its chain. At its end, the rose charm shined in the dying light.
~
On an air mattress in the cleared out living room, they laid in a tangle of limbs. Lorelai’s breath was shallow, light, pleasantly exhausted. Paris traced the flesh of her breastbone, intent, almost like he was trying to find something. He had told her the whole story, in hushed tones, in the dark.
“I don’t want to get married,” he said quietly, at the end.
Lorelai laughed under her breath.
“Paris, we were never gonna get married.”
“Yeah, I know. I just…” he trailed off. “l don’t know. I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for?”
Oh, what a question. He shrugged.
“…I took you away from your family,” he said it hushed, as if it was confessional.
“Is that how you remember it?” She laughed again. “That’s not what it was. I wanted to go. I asked you first.”
“I just don’t want to hurt you,” he said, finishing the thought. What either of them thought when they first started out hardly mattered anymore. It seemed so far away now.
“Then don’t,” she said.
~
They left before the sun rose, trudging the long way, past all the grave sites.
“I guess it’s weird for me to keep this now,” Lorelai said as she studied the pendant.
“It’s just a necklace,” Paris shrugged. “It doesn’t have to mean anything.”
But they both knew it would always hold that weight.
The grass was frosty as if it had snowed. There was so much mist in the air. It was cool and refreshing. It was the perfect morning for it.
They passed by another memorial site. Victims of the war that Empire was waged. An orator could list them all day and never run out of names. Paris paused to watch as Lorelai moved up the knoll and placed the pendant by the base of the stone. Not for Empire. Not for Rose. For Sabina.

Chapter Seven
A/N: I am still pissed that I lost this entire chapter and had to rewrite it but I finally did it. Rewriting this I realize just how stupid I made the reader in this story my bad folks I promise I dont think you guys are all this dumb <3
Her fault? Her fault? People were dying because of her, she didn’t…how, why? In a panic she grabbed the phone again, punching her fingers harshly into the buttons. Kirk’s voice crackled through the phone warmly, Like cold water to a fresh burn it was soothing. “Hello?” He asked. It was enough to force Y/N’s mouth to part, finally pushing out the words in a panic.
“Kirk, fuck, its me, I need.” She gasped out as she dropped to the floor with the phone in her hand. Her legs finally gave out as the tear spilled out across her cheeks. “I need you to come over here, please, please.” Y/N begged, unable to explain any further. She was left a babbling mess as she cried into the phone.
“Y/N?” Kirk asked, confused. “What? What's wrong, calm down and breathe.” He instructed her gently, but when her sob broke over the phone he responded. ‘Oh shit, I’ll be right there.” Even as the phone went dead she clutched it to her chest like a lifeline. She jumped as her front door opened. Then Kirk was there, his hands gentle on her shoulders as he pulled her in against his chest. He hadn’t even had the chance to change out of his own wet clothes.
She felt the phone being pried away gently from her hands and placed back down, the incessant ringing of a dead line finally being silenced. Kirk was cautious with her as he helped her to her feet from the floor and sat her down on the couch. Her kneeled before her his eyes wide with concern, hands heavy on her knees as he grounded her back in reality. “What happened?” He asked gently.
How could she describe the phone call that had just transpired, how did, how did the caller know she had just got home. It had hardly been minutes since she entered her front door. He was watching her, he had to be. Every gaze she felt on her back in the middle of the night had to be real. “I got a call…” She finally mumbled, the shock coursing through her system had her eyes glazed over. “It’s him, the killer, the one on the news he’s calling me.”
The way Kirk’s face contorted made her stomach since. He didn’t believe her, he was going to think she was crazy. His eyebrows raised, lips curled up awkwardly into some sort of astounded half smile. “What are you talking about Y/N?” He asked, his voice a little lighter than it had been before. “Are you serious?”
“Yes I’m serious, I wouldn’t fucking lie about this!” She hissed, curling her hands into the collar of Kirk’s shirt, dragging him up a little further so he was eye level with her. She watched the surprise take over his face, his eyes hardening into something serious as he soaked in just how shaken up she was about this. “Oh god I need to-” She looked around in a panic, she didn't know what she needed to do. “I need to call the police.. I think.”
As she reached over for the phone again Kirk’s hand suddenly stopped her. “No,” He said quickly, pulling her shaking hand back down into her lap. She looked down at him in shock, her eyebrows furrowing. She parted her lips to protest against him once more when he shook his head to continue speaking. “That's not a good idea Y/N, they're not going to believe you.” He ran his thumb soothingly over the back of her palm. “Think about it, you were just down there today giving a witness statement and now you’re getting calls? The police are gonna think you’re making it up or you have some sort of…mental problem.”
That made sense…maybe? Y/N was hesitant, sure it seemed like an unlikely turn of events but shouldn’t they still know? What happens if it escalates further? But when she looked into Kirk’s soft eyes she figured he wouldn’t lead her astray. “Then what do I do?” She squeaked out. “I don’t want to be next, I don’t want anyone else to die because of me.”
Kirk could physically see the burden weighing down on her. "What do you mean because of you, this isn’t your fault Y/N…we will figure it out nothings gonna hurt you when I'm here okay?” He leaned up, sitting beside her on the couch and tugging her down into his chest, her cheek pressed against the damp fabric of his shirt. “I’m gonna help you figure this out…”
She believed him, she had no reason not to. The fierce determination in his voice soothing her aches and worries if only slightly. She nodded slowly. “Okay, I…Just don't want to be alone, m’scared.” She mumbled against him. Her arms wrapped around his back to curl her fingers into his shirt. His regular scent was mingled with the damp smell of lake water, he was cold to the touch. She knew she was in a similar state and she shivered.
“I won't leave you alone baby don’t worry.” He assured her gently. “Why don’t you come stay with me tonight?” He asked, pulling back to look down at her assuringly. He watched the unease settle into her eyes. “I already promised you I’m not going to try anything, I mean it, I just want to keep you safe near me.”
Y/N hummed in thought. She shouldn’t. Every logical part in her brain was screaming to call the police about it, call her parents, stay put. But when she drowned in those sweet honey brown eyes she spoke only with her heart. “Y-yeah, okay, let me just leave a note for m’parents that I’m spending the night.” She whispered as she shakily stood up and grabbed the notepad beside the phone. She made her best attempt to still her shaking hand as she scrawled out a hasty note. “You sure you’re mom wont mind?” She asked softly.
With a shake of his head Kirk smiled at her, maybe a bit too easily considering the situation they had found themselves in. “Nah, it’s fine, come here.” He wrapped an arm around her waist as he walked her to her front door again. He noticed the way her body stiffened and hesitated as they stepped back outside into the night, her eyes darting around the darkness. “Calm down, no one's out here, I'm right here.” He soothed her.
Oddly it didn’t do much to calm her nerves. She could feel it prickling across her skin, like she could sense the very presence of this sick and twisted aura. It prodded the back of her mind, even as they entered Kirks house, all the way up to his room. It didn’t go away, faded maybe to a dull throb but she still felt on edge…and cold, really fucking cold. “Can I shower?” She asked barely above a whisper.
“Oh, yeah shit of course.” Kirk nodded quickly, his eyes widening in a cute way as he realized just how much she looked like a shaking wet rat. “Down the hall to the left, I’ll find you something to wear, kay?” His hand traced along the small of her back comfortingly as she stumbled past him on uneasy legs. He watched her worriedly before he heard the door click behind her.
The warm water against her skin did little to wash away the shock of everything that had transpired in the course of a short half hour. Her eyes glazed over as she stared at the unfamiliar tiling in Kirk’s shower. His water ran just a little hotter than her own, reminders that she wanted the comfort of her own home right now. But she couldn't bear the thought of being alone knowing her parents wouldn’t be home till late so she would have to suck it up and stay with Kirk. Which of course wasn't all that bad.
Even if she felt uneasy she was with someone else, he was protective of her. He was the only other safe option she knew. She didn’t know why she trusted him so wholly, how long had it been since they started hanging out? Had he given her a whole lot of reason to trust him actually? That weird moment with the knife in his glove box, the inconspicuous scratches he always seemed to be inflicted with, the very fact that they had been in that very alley a body was found in only a couple hours later. The more the thought swirled in her head the more a deep panic settled into the pit of her stomach. She hadn’t gotten that phone call until she had come home from being out with Kirk tonight, only a couple moments after he had left her at her front door. Why was he so insistent she didn’t call the police?
She blinked as the hot water began to burn her skin. She shook her head trying to shake the thoughts from her mind quickly. This was stupid it was just weird coincidences. Technically she had known Kirk since they were kids; he had always been her neighbor. He was a dorky awkward kid and not much had changed despite how pretty he was now. He didn’t have it in him to hurt anyways, it was just…weird coincidences.
With a creak the pipes halted the stream of running water, Y/N turning the knobs to off tightly until the soft dripping sound ceased. Her wet feet padded against the floor as she returned to Kirk’s room in the fluffy towel she had found. Kirk scrambled to his feet at the sight of her, grabbing a pile of clothes he had left on the bed. “Here, They’ll be big but they’ll fit, I’ll be right back okay? I’m just going to shower now as well.” He placed the bundles of fabric in her arms.
Dread filled her stomach at the thought of being left alone in his room even for a moment. “You said you wouldn’t leave me.” She whispered in a soft panic, her eyes darting to the open window of his room that faced her own. This creep could see into her room so he could definitely see into Kirks. She clutched the clothes to her chest as she looked up at Kirk wide eyed.
He frowned as he followed her gaze and quickly he pulled his own blinds down. “Just five minutes I promise you will be okay.” He assured her. “My mom’s in her room down the hall, no ones coming in here.” He placed his hands heavy on her shoulders as he held her gaze. She believed him oddly. With a soft nod she let him leave, the door clicking behind him and granting her the couple moments of privacy she needed to change.
Kirk’s clothes fit her mostly well, he was lean, not particularly bulky so she wasn't swimming in them. But they were a bit long. It was nice nonetheless, that warm scent of cinnamon and something sweet surrounded her. Just the most subtle trace of nicotine and smoke clinging to the fabric. Carefully she climbed into Kirk’s bed beneath his sheets as she waited for him.
She wasn’t timing it but she was pretty sure he had taken exactly five minutes before he was entering the room again, dripping wet with a towel tucked tightly around his waist. Her mouth went dry at the sight, even though just a few hours prior she had been swimming nearly naked with him, he still looked unfairly attractive at this moment. It served as a good distraction actually, soaking him in. “Eyes up here Y/N.” He said teasingly, snapping her out of her daze.
“Sorry,” She whispered sheepishly, her cheeks flushing as she brought her eyes back up to meet his. “You’re pretty,” She said honestly, enjoying the way he flushed at her compliment. Then she frowned again. “Seriously I don't…know what to do about all of this, I don’t want to die Kirk.” She ran her hands across her face in exhaustion from the whole ordeal.
Kirk matched her frown and nodded. “I know baby, I’m not gonna let you die. I promise you that, we’ll figure it out.” He nodded assuringly. His hands dropped down to the edge of the towel that was keeping him semi decent. “Close your eyes, or don’t it's fine either way.” He shrugged as he began dropping the fabric from his waist.
Y/N squeaked and covered her eyes quickly before she caught an eyeful. “Give me more of a warning next time Jesus.” She huffed as she listened to the soft rustling of fabric as Kirk got dressed again. “I’m already dealing with the shock of having my life threatened. I don't need a heart attack from seeing your…dick.” She hissed.
“Okay ouch,” Kirk said, offended as he pried her hands away from her face once he was covered once more. “Personally I think if you saw my dick it might solve some problems.” The icy glare she gave him after made him wince. “Okay sorry, not funny.’ He mumbled as he sat down on the edge of his bed. “I’m gonna work on some guitar shit, but you can sleep. I'll be watching.” He ran a soft hand across her shoulder.
It was a bit funny, she would have laughed in a better situation. Right now though her face was screwed up in annoyance. “You are insufferable, remind me not to come to you in a crisis again.” She groaned as she settled back against his pillows. “But yeah…okay, goodnight Kirk.”
“Night Y/N…”

One Last Night(Jayce x reader)
Warnings: SHIELD YOUR EYES FOR THE UNCOVERED ANKLES (smut. There is smut.)
It was all a shock. To land in an alternate reality where everything was fucked up. But it was an even bigger shock to him when he went to go back to his own and still ended up in the wrong reality.
There he was and everything was…
Great?
Life was almost a damn Utopia. What was crazier was Zaun and Piltover were put together and better functioning than his own damn reality. He walked the streets absolutely fucking baffled by what was happening before him. He heard tidbits and realized that in this reality his creation killed Vi, but was destroyed in the process.
From what he managed to understand, he had basically gone through his trial by getting his experiment confiscated. Even weirder, Jayce was successful in other ways but not… actually hextech.
It was beyond bizarre. Especially since… you were alive. No hextech meant no advanced weapons, no explosion, no explosion meant you were alive. Now he was fixated on finding you. If he was stuck there, he had to find you.
He had looked high and low.
And nothing.
Not a freaking sign. He sighed, sitting at a booth in a bar with his head in his hands when the gods seemed to finally answer his prayers.
“Can I get you anything sir?”
Jayce’s head snapped up and his eyes widened. You were fucking beautiful. Your hair was longer, dyed a vibrant color, just like you always said you wanted but weren’t ballsy enough to go through with it. Your eyes were brighter. You seemed happy.
“Y/n..” he breathed.
“Yeah that’s my name dude, don’t abuse it.” You chuckled.
“Jayce— it’s me Jayce.” He said staring at you. You squinted.
“Uh… do I know you man?” You asked confused. Oh fuck. No hextech meant you never got hired at the academy to be his assistant…
“Fuck uhm…” he sighed. You looked at him confused.
“You okay?” You asked. Your kindness was definitely still there.
“Uh… Shit I uhm.” He couldn’t form words. You were alive. The love of his fucking life was alive. But didn’t know who he was.
“…Need a drinking buddy?” You asked.
“…Yeah that uhm… Yes please.” He nodded.
“Vander! I’m taking my break!” You called out. Holy crap— Vander and Silco were alive?! And running a damn bar—“what’s got you so weirded out right now?” You asked.
“Why do you think I’m weirded out?” He muttered.
“Because you looked… bugged out, like you just took a fucking ice bath dude.” You shrugged. Glad to see your bluntness was still intact too.
Jayce smiled sadly before sighing. “I uhm… well I just… feel like a fish out of water.” He admitted.
“Why’s that?” You asked.
“…” did he risk sounding nuts, potentially causing you to freak the fuck out? Did he risk pushing you away from him? Fuck it. Things were still out of control in his reality, he needed to find a way back and there was someone he knew had a brilliant enough of a damn mind to make it work. “This is going to sound crazy but—“
He explained it all. From start to finish. You of course, stared at him like he was nuts. “Yeah but do you have proof dude, because right now you sound batshit.” You said after the explanation.
He sighed leaning back. “Your favorite song is Midnight blues. But you always say it’s Eros.” He says. You snorted.
“Okay weirdo maybe you just lurk on my Next tune—“
“You are allergic to peanuts. You always wanted a poro but your allergies stop you so you have a hairless cat instead. You love to sit on top of the old factory at night because it overlooks everything and you love to see the city at night, you love ionian literature, you hate the sounds of trucks that run too loud and flip off the driver every time you see one.” He listed off. Some of those were habits you knew no one would know. And he knew this. “You wear your grandmother’s locket. It has a picture of both your grandparents inside, the damn thing is almost eighty years old and has their initials engraved on the heart.” That. That detail made you believe him. Because you wore your locket, yes. But it was tucked inside your shirt so the pendant wouldn’t fall off.
You stared at him “..How did you—“
“Because in my reality we were together.” He said softly.
“…oh” you said. That’s why this guy stared at you like you completed his life just by merely existing. “Did we break up or something—“
“You died, Y/n… some girl— uhm… she went nuts and shot off a missile into a council meeting. Killed half the council, my partner got severely injured and… you died.” He muttered.
You blinked “…No offense, really. But if… your reality is really that shit, why are you so eager to go back?” You asked.
“Because before I ended up in this one, I saw what happens when I don’t succeed. I gotta say. It’s bad.” He said. You sighed.
“Why… tell me all this?” You asked.
“Because I know your mind. I know your talent Y/n, if anyone can help me I know it’s you.” He said softly. You stared at him before sighing again and running your fingers through your hair.
“…I mean I don’t even know how to start with time travel.” You admitted.
“I don’t either.” He admitted. “But… I think if we work together we can figure it out.” He said softly. He put his hand over yours that rested on the table and you pulled away. He mentally scolded himself that you didn’t know him in this reality.
“Okay I mean I can try but don’t be disappointed if me in this universe isn’t a damn genius.” You said leaning back in the booth. You seemed to have a lightbulb moment. “But my dad might know.” You added.
Your dad. You never mentioned even in your relationship in his reality who your dad was. He assumed he wasn’t around in his reality.
“Hey! Dad!” You called. Silco looked over.
“Yes kid?” He asked. Jayce froze. Silco? Silco the gods damned inventor was your dad? The man who basically made Vi’s sister into Jinx was your dad? That’s why you never mentioned this?!
“Come here for a sec.” You motioned. He walked from behind the bar and sat down. With zero hesitation you explained everything Jayce had told you. You trusted Silco. You clearly loved your dad too.
“…Well this is… interesting.” He said.
“Yeah. Any idea where to start?” You asked.
“My best educated guess is string theory. You made a major event. You came back here from a major event. So maybe make a major event. Your uh… hex something or other, doesn’t exist in this world, do you know how to make it again?” He asked.
“Yeah..” he admitted.
“Then I’d start there. And maybe try to do what you did to your core in your timeline to that one?” He suggested.
“That’s… solid advice. Thank you silco.” He nodded. The fuck? Silco never said his name..
“Right. Be careful Y/n.” He muttered before getting up.
“Thanks dad.” You nodded. Jayce looked at you. “What?” You asked.
“Your dad is Silco?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah. Why? Was he not in your reality” You asked.
“No he was but… nevermind.” Jayce sighed.
“We can use my dad’s workshop. Plenty of space. Come on.”
You started working. Days Jayce spent close to you, working on calculations and making a hexcore. Many nights he found you sleeping at your desk. And every time his coat would be wrapped around you in the morning when you woke up.
It was strange. A man you swear you had never met loved you so much that you could tell that the closer you got to cracking this, the more he struggled with the idea of losing all you over again.
It had been a week. You walked over to him sitting on the couch with calculations.
“Can I ask you something?” You asked. He looked up and nodded. “…Were we happy?” You asked softly.
His focused gaze cracked to a soft fondness. “We were.” He told you.
“…And even though I don’t really know you… do you still love—“
“Without question.” He said softly. You stared at him in silence. You almost felt sad. To have such a firm romantic love from someone, even if it was from another timeline but not be able to know, to share that feeling with this man that seemed to unconditionally love you…
There was guilt. You thought of throwing him a line, flirt with him. But you didn’t want what you knew were his last memories with you to be a lie. You couldn’t force yourself to love this stranger either.
“Jayce?”
“Mhm?”
“What if we went on a date?” You asked. He seemed shocked by this suggestion. “I mean… you feel this love for me. And judging by the way you mentioned your memories of other me, it was mutual and it… bugs me that I can’t really share that.” You said.
He looked at you like he was happy yet still… sad. “Sure, Y/n. Where would you like to go?” He asked softly. He couldn’t refuse one last lasting memory with you. Not when this wound still felt this fresh.
“Uh… well I dunno. This version of me never went on a date before so..”
“Mm. I can figure it out. Come on.” He said getting up.
“Oh— now?”
“Yeah. I know where we should go. Come on.” He said softly.
So you went. On a date. From that moment on, every night was a date. Spend the day working with this strange little blue glowy ball, then go off to dinner. What was worse? You knew this version of you was going to lose him. But you still fell in love with him anyway.
It was the final night. The last piece had been clicked into place thanks to Ekko and Heimerdinger in the same damn predicament. Heimerdinger insisted he needed to make adjustments. In reality he was giving the boys time to say goodbye.
You sat across from him in your apartment. “So this is it… after tonight you’re going back.” You said softly.
“Yeah… yeah I uhm… I am.” He nodded clearing his throat.
You looked in his eyes “…I didn’t expect this to be hard.”
“For what to be—“
“You leaving.” Jayce went silent. You drew in breath “…after these dates, these… times… I get why I loved you, Jayce.”
He swallowed hard. “Then… let’s treat this night like it really is our last.” He said softly.
You looked over at him “how?”
He pulled you closer to him from the chair you were sitting in. “…Let me love you for one last night.” He said softly. You broke at that. This was your last night. You were losing the only romantic love you have ever known. You had had “situationships” that pretty much were just sex but nothing like this. You had two options. Cry….
Or cherish it.
You kissed him. For the first time you kissed someone. Was this absolutely bizarre? Oh fuck yeah. But you didn’t regret it.
He pulled you even closer, into his lap, holding you like you were the most precious thing in the world to him. He needed you like fucking air right now. One final victory before the bigger fight he knew he’d come back to.
He kissed you, over and over again, his fingers in your hair, his other hand on your back holding you close. You slid off your shirt and his eyes widened.
“Y/n are you sure—“
“I don’t want to think anymore Jayce… I just… I want to feel.” You whispered. So that’s what he did. He kissed your neck, unhooking your bra, cupping your breast in his hand. He rolled your nipple through his fingers and you buried your face in his neck.
“We can back out at any time Y/n—“
“Don’t stop” you breathed out. No. Not breathed. You moaned. Any semblance of control the man may have had flew out the window as he pushed you onto the couch.
Kiss after kiss, hickey after hickey his hand moved lower undoing your pants. He slid his hand past the hem of your panties and you gasped, your hands covering your mouth.
He pulled them away with his freehand. “Let me hear you.” He said in your ear, rubbing circles over your clit. Your eyes fluttered closed, your hands moving to his hair as you took moaning breaths.
“J-Jayce I need—“
“I know baby. I know.” He said pulling off your pants. There you were sprawled out naked under him as he pulled off his belt. He let it hit the floor with a soft clatter and he gently spread your thighs.
“Gods if we had time I’d be worshipping you right now,” he murmured. You kissed him as he lined himself up. With a gasp from you he pushed in and you gripped the couch moaning as he moved. He went the pace he knew you loved. Deep, and fast.
“Oh gods— don’t stop please don’t fucking stop!” You moaned.
“That’s it. Let me hear you.” He whispered in your ear. Gods his voice as he was absolutely railing you was making this very difficult not to finish on the spot. It didn’t help that his fingers found their way back to your clit rubbing circles as he kept going with his thrusts.
In.
Breaths kept mingling
Out.
Kisses and moans filled the room.
Back in.
“I love you”
“I love you too”
Back out.
Your nails dug into his shoulder as he thrusted, your head tilting back. The release hit you both, his face buried in your neck as he panted against you.
After a few minutes he pulled away looking in your eyes. You looked at him with that same warmth. That soft smile. But from both of you it had an underlying sadness. You looked in his eyes before you swallowed hard, looking down.
“…Jayce..?” You murmured
“Yeah?”
“Do you… really have to go?” You mumbled. He sighed softly.
“Believe me. If I didn’t, I would stay right here with you.” He muttered.
“What if I went with you..?” You muttered.
“Baby, I don’t know how that would go… you died in my reality. If I brought you from this one… you might die… again.” He said softly.
You looked sad. “I’m never going to see you again… am I?” You murmured.
“…I don’t know. I will find a way to come back once all this shit in my reality is over.” He murmured. You swallowed hard.
“And if you can’t?” You muttered.
“I will.” He said determined. You looked in his eyes. You could tell he meant it.
“Then let’s get you to that weird little core then.”

Nuada wasn't much better in the coherence and focus department right now. He'd had way too much to drink and his thoughts were fuzzy, his mind was swimming, and he likely wouldn't remember half of what he said when he sobered up tomorrow. Honestly, he was probably in for a complete bear of a hangover from all of this, since not only had he drank to excess, he was also not used to doing so. Nevertheless, he was being vulnerable with Mantis, even if he was rambling and she wasn't really getting what he was saying anyway.
"No, that is not... that isn't the point," he said when she said it was okay that he lost his purpose and his way. "My purpose was not... lost because I wanted revenge, it was lost because... because there's no more use... there's... no one needs... warriors anymore. They're safe now. My people, they're... they're all safe. So what need have they for... for a... for warriors now? That's why I haven't a purpose," he tried to explain, although he wasn't really sure if, in all his rambling, he'd actually made his point. Oh well. Good enough, probably.
"Y-you think... there is good in me?" he suddenly keyed in on, his eyes going wide, almost innocently so, as he turned to look at her. "Thank you, Mantis," he said with such deep sincerity as though she had just paid him the world's greatest compliment. "There are not many... who feel... who think that way... about me," he said through the thick haze of inebriation.
He looked down at her hand on his knee and then lifted his gaze to hers, finding her staring at him. Gods, she had such beautiful eyes. And a beautiful smile. She was beautiful. He stared back, a warm smile coming to his lips. "You are... very pleasant to be around, Mantis," he said. "And pleasant to speak with, and to look at, and to sit beside." Were he sobered, he might have said all of that more eloquently, but then again, had he been sober, he might have elected not to say anything at all on the subject.
The way she was saying he had something to offer, and that he could find a new purpose, that it wasn't too late... Nuada was much too drunk to let his usual defensiveness or pessimism ruin the positive sentiments flowing from her words. Instead, he simply felt happy in that moment, and that was something he hadn't felt in a long time. "Perhaps I shall..." he said, "...knowing that you believe in me that I can." With that, he moved to lay his head on her shoulder, something he never did with anyone, really, but again... he was rather drunk. A soft sigh escaped him and he reached to lay his hand over hers on his knee.
She'd said he had so much to offer. He wished he had something to offer her specifically.
Going Knowhere || closed with thenexusofsouls
She was home. Mantis was finally home again. Not because Knowhere was her home as a place, but because home was where the Guardians were.
It had been two years since Mantis chose to bid farewell to the Guardians, leaving to find her own purpose while Quill left to return to Earth. The Celestial siblings had stopped running from their past, and it was freeing, as scary as the choice had been. Mantis had taken the three Abilisks with her… and the green seed Nuada gave her, of course.
Moments after landing, Mantis was greeted by some of the residents that lived on Knowhere. She rarely wanted to draw attention to herself, but she knew the three giant Abilisks would attract a few looks. Drax was all over her. He had picked her up at least three times to hug her, tightly squeezing Mantis until her eyes bulged from her skull. Part of the reason why Mantis had been at peace leaving his side was because now there were other children, children who needed him, after he spent years protecting Mantis since she reminded him of his daughter.
“Okay, Drax, enough! I want to say hello to everyone else,” she exclaimed, patting his back until he finally put her down.
Nebula, Kraglin and Adam hugged her affectionately, but soon enough Groot pushed them aside so he could hug Mantis, as well as Rocket. Cosmo licked Mantis’ face and Mantis giggled, patting the dog’s head. Cosmo was still the best girl in the galaxy.
When Mantis asked where Quill was, Drax told her he was still on Earth, but he wrote to the Guardians regularly to let them know he was okay. They were family, all of them, and they would always be.
“I say we throw a party tonight,” Rocket suggested. “You’re back, bug. We've gotta celebrate. What do ya think?”
“That sounds good! Thank you, Rocket,” Mantis said.
“Abilisks!” someone cried nearby, and collective screaming followed.
After reassuring everyone that the Abilisks were with her, lest panic took over all of Knowhere, Mantis asked the Guardians if they knew where Prince Nuada was. She had left without saying goodbye to anyone but the Guardians, and she wondered if Nuada would be angry with her. Rocket and Groot offered to look after her Abilisks while Mantis looked for the Elven Prince.
Mantis walked with more self-assurance than before. She no longer held her hands in front of her body, letting her arms swing at her sides instead. She was more poised now, secure in herself yet more mellow. Confident – but not unfriendly. As if her two years of complete independence had allowed her to grow more than her several centuries with Ego. She wandered over to the spot where Nuada was, following the direction Rocket had told her, and a few bark children appeared to say hello. Mantis smiled and waved at them. She remembered taking them to Knowhere shortly after bringing Nuada's people, as well as Mr. Wink. She never wanted Nuada to choose either his people or his friends; he could have both. She tilted her head when she spotted Nuada, and offered a polite smile.
"Hello," she said, trying not to make things awkward. "Good to see you," she added. "Okay, I know I left without saying goodbye, but... I already said goodbye to my friends, and I realized if I stayed a little longer to say goodbye to everyone, I would not leave. I would just think about how much I would miss everyone and stay. The seed is fine, by the way! I have been speaking to it regularly and making sure it knew it was a good seed. My Abilisks would keep it safe when I couldn't, so... yeah."

i am a believer in the s3 1941 kiss
#good omens#it just makes Sense.#like the way i shot out of my seat when aziraphale said he did the apology dance in 1941... WE HAVEN'T SEEN THAT YET!!!!#my delusional theory: they kiss on the night of the zombies/blitz after their gay little romantic dinner#they freak out about it and crowley leaves#GOD what if aziraphale initiated it then. and then he shows up later in the year (?) to do the dance#as an olive branch cause at this point he's painfully in love he just wants to see crowley again#so he does the dance as like. “sorry for freaking you out here's our joke it's all okay right?”#and then crowley has to watch as aziraphale apologizes for kissing him. yeah that works! slams my head into the wall#that would explain the weirdness in 1960s#would NOT explain why aziraphale said you go too fast but like maybe more things happened in between them.#oh my god what if like they fully dated then during those years but had a messy breakup#and then crowley wants to keep going he's sad they broke up but aziraphale had issues with heaven or something so he's scared#every day i hurt my own feelings

(It has english subtitles)
Let's call it a bit of a feverdream.
+ side:
Jürgen Vogel's (Friedrich) crooked af teeth (it's just so fitting for Friedrich) Giving Johann Sebastian Bach also horrendeously discolored teeth lots of wig and NOT wig wearing It was so cool and entertaining to recognise people (like Quantz, Amalie, Maupertuis) and also concepts (Soldatenzopf, Haarbeutel, there was a scene where Quantz says "a flute is not a baton (Marschallstab)" and I was like I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE'S SAYING Amalie reading Friedrich for filth when confronted about her affair (He said something about her opening her thighs for a lowly musician.... and all I could think about was he literally did exactly that for Fredersdorff. AND THEN SHE BASICALLY SAID THAT... well not the musician part but... close enough) Friedrich making everyone around him as miserable as himself and being an all around intolerable ass The whipping scene with PTSD Friedrich I guess at least they thought of poor poor Elisabeth Christine enough to mention/allude to her twice
-- side
EXCUSE ME WHERE WAS FREDERSDORFF???? They had some guy named Golz who was Mr Hohenzollern everything (secretary, therapist, lover(?), spy handler) which just screams Fredersdorff ("Prussia's unofficial prime minister") Having some understanding of Friedrich and his environment made it very easy to follow his stuff, but man I just didn't really care about the whole Bach family drama thing. Like I knooow the movie is literally about JS Bach, so I'd assume it mostly draws in people who might have an interest in him? And yeah I guess it was an effective way to contrast Friedrich's father to JS Bach as a father and develop their dynamic, but by god I didn't careeee about the sons quarelling. Like idk u, and you're barely developed characters, why tf should I care about some barely explained beed between the two of u The whole Amalie-older Bach son affair???? Really, was that necessary? Especially since she's underage and the guy 30. Friedrich should've spoken more French Amalie wanting to run away was weird ngl (maybe I'm thinking in terms of what it took for Friedrich to do that and that was a whole fucking lot, so a discovered love affair your brother is not entirely amused about... is not really convincing) Older Bach son saying "Oh I know what the punishment is for helping you run away in Prussia, I'll lose my head" .....First of all Friedrich isn't his father, second of all you're literally not a Prussian soldier and therefore unable to be condemned for desertion ??? side
Well. It started of strong with PTSD Friedrich having a flashback to Katte's execution, him seeking solace from Gorz after his nightmare, him dictating to Gorz about making torture uhhh less awful I guess. I'd say I was even still kinda on board with his Friedrich-as-Katte and Gorz-as-Friedrich roleplay and the spilling ink giving him another flashback. BUT THEN him being absolutely ready to let the older Bach son rail him in the stable minutes after he was just having sex with Amalie??? (which didn't happen, before any fujo out there is getting her hopes up). BUT THEN Friedrich having a complete mental breakdown and dressing in the stay and these wire skirt poofy-makers (idk what they're called) it's just... girl no, that's wayyy over the top
The good thing about obscure German movies is that you can usually find them on YouTube no problem
#bsd replies#hope you enjoyed my review#it's watchable for a german movie#at least it made me laugh#Youtube

well that was a shortlived good feeling about my job
#maybe i should just become unemployed. maybe i should just suffer!#recap of todays further events .#that supervisor? who i kinda didnt already like but now absolutely hate?#she came down to confirm that i wasnt leaving. okay . and then she fucking tells me#oh we're going to get another person to help out from this other company. we were going to do that bc we thought you were leaving#but she thinks that even if im staying there should be another person on this floor. bc apparently more has to be done#and there are 'constant complaints' abt this floor . which doesnt make sense to me bc there shouldnt be#and so we're waiting to see what the manager decides but hes on fucking vacation and wont get back until. next week??#she said she was gonna email him and like right after she left i emailed and texted him explaining everything#and trying to very nicely say hey what the fuck are you doing you don't need to hire anyone else#and if im doing a bad job fucking tell me so i can do it better. bitch#and she had the nerve to fucking tell me when she was talking to me#that i wont find an easier job than this one#well if its so fucking easy why are we hiring someone else#by the way getting that extra person from this other company doesnt cost them anything which is why theyre doing it i think#which is making me not feel good abt my own future lmao. like why would they keep paying me when they can get someone for free#and she was saying all this stuff like oh you have it so good here we dont write you up i do all this stuff to help you like . ok#i didnt ask you to come downstairs w the coffee order and if you wanted me to i would come up . god#but the thing of me not being able to find a better job like wow! what if i killed you. for saying that to my face#and she talks abt how shes been w the company 20 years ok and that doesnt give you an excuse to treat me like a child. jesus#anyway im very pissed off and not enjoying my work situation lol. i dont wanna do this anymore#but looking at other jobs im so unemployable. sigh

Substance, Shadow, and Spirit [remixed, abridged] by Tao Yuanming
#liv in the replies#patrice bergeron#boston bruins#brad marchand#do you ever think about how brad marchand said that when bergy retired he would retire or are you capable of normal thought i'm not at all#please say a gratitude for both my sanity& y'all that this poem (which has been saved in my camera roll with the vague idea of using it for#??? long) & not one of the poems i had saved for carey for a really long time & remixed & everything with another poem until i found a poem#that absolutely murdered me in cold blood but there is an alternate universe where i did& then had to explain my unhinged thoughts to you.#anyway how are we feeling about bergy retirement. pspspspsp sara & luna are y'all doing okay like. the doc title for this one was#patrice the hockey player means a lot to me but patrice the person means so much more#which is why the end line of the other poem was so *%"@^)! (you love / what you are) because patrice does. like he is a whole ass good huma#& now since no one asked i need to tell you all the details about everything also y'all please clap i made an edit with NO baby pictures#although i did find one & save it & minimal genres of photo i always use in edits because they're my taste & aesthetic but anyway.#when i saved the first photo and marked it as one i wanted i accidentally wrote “how will he know they love him” which is not the line but#makes me feel feral about patrice & the rest of them all had hurtful names too but also. the third picture is literally a CELLY like brad#just scored a goal & he is clinging to bergy for dear life with that shit i saved that as “oh the agony on his face for unendurable”#& yes it is one of my cliches to have a draft day picture but in my defense the lifelong bond that patrice has/d with boston deserved to be#there even if i put in the love story & YES that picture is from the 2011 playoff right below it shared joy & pain & i couldn't tell you#when the brad marchy photo for together forever is except for the fact that i saw it & just the gut punch of oh my god the way he looks at#things men will praise you for is the stanley cup. duh. but i love the contrast of “some deed” being the stanley cup but then#bergy's choice to do noble deeds (ends up still earning praise &that's my note to his efforts outside of hockey we love a supportive captai#should also mention the first two i came up with & had the photos i knew i wanted for were the first and last one alskaldk but i KNEW i#wanted chara somewhere in the paragraph about leaving & then while i was looking found the one of bergy playing tuukka on accident & yes#i do have to make goalie jokes every time. no reprieve . no dice/no deal/no goal goalies have no rest/reprieve etc etc the one that killed#me though was looking for a patrice award pic & i wanted basically the one that i got for “how will you know any will praise you” & instead#also got the picture of patrice winning the some community hero award for charity work that he does & i love him mama & of COURSE that puck#is from bergy's 1000 game who do you think I am (if you guessed sleepy and emotional about patrice you'd be right) and ALSO please be ready#for all the patrice posts/bruins posts that have been sitting in my drafts to be released on this occasion of patrice retirement#I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT TUUKKA ALSO RETIRED THAT’S WHY HE WAS ON WISE OR SIMPLE NO REPRIEVE AND THAT LATE OR SOON WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE#CHARA BECAUSE CHARA LEFT FIRST TO GO TO THE CAPS AND THEN LEFT IN RETIRMENT HE LEFT SOON BUT NOT FOR REAL THEN LATER LEFT FOR REAL (RETIRED)
