people love to hate female characters for being “selfish” but there is no character type i find less compelling than an altruistic woman written by a man. i love “selfish” female characters because more women should be more “selfish” in real life, too

#you can put your needs first without hurting anyone else #you can put your needs first and still help others #but you have to put your needs first because nobody else will do it for you #and women especially have to put their needs first because you can bet that men are putting their own needs first #and we have to stop catering to them. they’ve gotten way too comfortable demanding that women make their lives easier #make your own lives easier!! leave me alone #anyway! good morning
