Hi there and Happy spring! I'm new to your blog, so I hope I'm doing this right- anyway, can I request some fluff/romantic headcanons for Malleus, Silver, Sebek, Vil, and Epel sharing their first kiss with their fem s/o on a picnic please? Thank you!
happy spring to you as well!! i hope you enjoy your stay in this blog ^_^
as a side note, i just noticed i write so much stuff set outside the pomefiore building...and the diasomnia boys have picnics around ramshackle because near their building its just. thorns.
(by the way, i have a ko-fi now, so if anyone feels like supporting my writing you can do it there!)
Malleus Draconia
You’ve known that Malleus liked outdoor dates since you two started going out like this, so you decide to surprise him with a picnic date.
It wasn’t anything too...fancy. You ask him about his favorite snacks and do your best to prepare them, then lay down an old tablecloth near the Ramshackle building, somewhere you two could see the moon well.
It’s the evening when you’re bringing Malleus to the spot you’ve picked, chirping about your surprise for him, and when you get there and tell him about your picnic plans, he’s a bit confused -- You’re nervous, thinking he might not have liked it, but then you realize he just didn’t know exactly what a picnic was.
It’s up for you to guide him through the motions. You explain to him that it’s just eating outdoors, really, usually on the ground like this. He follows you curiously as you instruct him to sit down, and you go on about the things people commonly did during them like storing the food in a basket, and the tablecloths...
“I thought you might like it, since we go for walks here so much.” You explain, nervously fidgeting with your hands a bit. Malleus hadn’t said much yet, just watched.
He’s inexpressive enough you’re afraid he really didn’t like it, so you ask him about it, but then a small smile appears on Malleus’ lips.
“I must say I’m surprised." He admits, with a tenderness in his eyes that you haven't seen before. "I'm sorry for the silence, Child of Man. I was thinking about how to thank you. But I believe I've figured it out now."
You're about to question what he means -- But then Malleus kisses you softly, your thoughts leave your mind as your eyes flutter shut.
When he pulls away, he's still smirking. Maybe he had been planning that, somehow...
Silver
After a couple of dates with Silver, you had noticed you needed to come up with more... low-energy ideas, at least for a while, because his perpetual sleepiness seemed to have gotten especially bad.
You two brainstorm a bit over lunch, when Lilia butts into your conversation and suggests a picnic -- And it's actually a good idea, especially now that the spring weather left the outdoors feeling more pleasant than usual. You two agree on meeting up next afternoon near Ramshackle for it, where maybe it wouldn't be the prettiest date spot, but you'd definitely have some time for yourselves.
Each one of you bring some snacks that you like, you arrange a tablecloth, and soon you were ready for your quaint picnic date -- Silver sits next to you over the cloth, head leaning against your shoulder, and you eat some cookies he bought while chatting idly about school.
When he falls silent in the middle of you telling a story about what one of your classmates did yesterday, you already know what to expect -- And when you turn to look at him, your suspicions are confirmed.
Silver is asleep, leaning against you cutely. You know it's not because he's bored, by now, and you planned this date so it's okay if he dozes off, so you don't mind.
But he looks so cute like this, eyes fluttered shut and expression so peaceful. You set the cookie down on the container, letting your hand pet at his silky hair for a while as you stare. He really was so pretty -- You leave a gentle kiss on his forehead, letting your fingers sort through his whiteish locks, and he stirs, eyes beginning to open.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty." You tease, smiling. Silver, still a bit half asleep, looks at you with half-lidded eyes. You're just about to assure him there's no issue he's dozed off -- Then suddenly his lips are on yours in a chaste, yet slow kiss.
"Retribution for you kissing me before." He explains, voice and smile drowsy as he does so, and returns to cuddle up to you.
Sebek Zigvolt
The picnic date is a product of your and Sebek’s current situation -- You’re his first girlfriend so he doesn’t know a lot of interesting date spots, it’s been exam season lately and you’re both tired, so something easy and simple seems ideal.
Today at lunch, right after your last exam, you tell him you have a surprise for him after all his activities. Sebek gives you a lecture about how he won’t put off any of his duties to see you, but after some coaxing you get him to cut some time from his studying, since exams were already over... and he comes to see you in the evening, at the exact time you had planned.
While he had been busy, you set up the picnic for both of you, and you show off proudly the food you got, put together over the tablecloth as you tell him to sit down -- Some you bought, some you made yourself. It’s mostly simple snacks, but there’s a sparkle in Sebek’s eyes.
You tell him it’ll be like a celebratory dinner for getting through such a difficult period in your school lives, and he’s actually quite excited for it. You sit down together and begin to eat, you listen to him talk about his day, everything is pretty sweet.
Pulling out some nice glasses you’d found stashed away at the Ramshackle attic, you suggest to Sebek that you have a celebratory toast, Sebek likes the idea, and you pour some juice for yourselves in it.
You two toast to your success in your exams cheerfully, he’s smiling quite brightly, happy to know that you’re proud of his efforts too -- As you sip your juice, you notice his face grows pink, you ask him what’s up. There’s a pause.
“...can I kiss you?” He asks, blurting out the question. You blink in surprise, blushing too, but you nod. Sebek blushes a bit more, he tentatively reaches forward... and his lips are on yours, all sweet and gentle. He smiles at you when he pulls away, happy to have had his first kiss with you -- Then you probably spill the forgotten juice on yourselves.
Vil Schoenheit
Isn’t really outdoorsy, so a picnic date isn’t the first romantic outing to come to his mind -- But when you two are taking a stroll on the woods close to Pomefiore and you mention how nice it’d be to have a picnic there, he gets the idea.
Vil liked surprising you like this, putting together all sorts of different dates to impress you, so he takes a couple days to make sure everything’s arranged nicely. He picks a nice spot on a flowering field, fills the basket with your favorite food, and on a Saturday morning, he comes to your dorm to tell you to wear your best sundress, you two are going on a picnic date.
You set up the picnic and eat together like any other meal you’d share, Vil points out the recipe for his favorite food items and fusses over you when you get breadcrumbs on your cheeks. The weather is nice, the sky is a bright blue, everything is so pleasant and you’re here, smile brighter than the sun itself.
He didn’t really bring you here with any second thoughts in mind but when you two are sharing a place of apple slices and you look around at the flowers with this dreamy look in your eyes, your beauty is so blinding to him, and he can’t help but remember he hadn’t kissed you just yet. Well, that just wouldn’t do.
“You’ve got something of mine on you,” He mutters, scooting closer, and during the second that you’re confused, about to ask what it was, Vil holds your chin delicately, tilting your face up as he steals a kiss from you.
Epel Felmier
Epel had been nervous since you two started going on dates, he really liked you and he wanted to do this right! So, lately he's been looking for good date ideas to impress you, and a picnic comes up.
He makes it a surprise! Tells you on Friday, fidgeting with his hands, that he wanted to meet up with you on the garden near the Pomefiore building tomorrow morning. When you get there, after some walking around the flowering bushes, you find Epel standing next to the little picnic setup, awkward but excited smile on his face.
It's a very classic setup -- The straw basket, the red checkered tablecloth. Epel actually has a sort of sappy, cliché romantic side to him. He announces the surprise, opening the basket to show you the food he's arranged for you two, mostly apple based snacks and some bread from the cafeteria. It's all so simple but so earnest you can't help but smile.
You two hang out like usual, chatting the pretty morning away, though it's visible in Epel's sudden cheerfulness that he's trying to impress you, and he feels as though he's succeeding, proud at himself for making his cute girlfriend happy.
"A-Ah, can I feed the cake to you?" He asks when he sees you've picked it up from the basket, and you decide to humor him. His eyes sparkle. You hand him the tupperware and the fork, and he takes a piece off the slice with it. "Say ah!"
You follow his suggestion, letting him feed you the piece of cake. You're a few forkfuls in now, all chuckles and content smiles as you chew your food, when his previously peppy expression falters a bit, and you see his face growing more red -- Well, he had been mostly just hyped about this, and being a good boyfriend, and all, but... he's taken off guard by how cute you can be.
You ask him what's wrong when he's setting the tupperware down, blushing like crazy, and he acts on impulse -- Even in all his clumsiness, Epel cups your face and surprises you with a kiss that lasts a while.
"What was that about?" You'll question, breathless and flustered, and he just mumbles, embarrassed, that you were acting too cute for him to handle, before quickly and excitedly asking to do it again.

~Luan’s Birth~
Twisted Wonderland future AU fanfic of my OC fan child of Malleus being born. Part 1
*WARNING*
Angst, sad moments, death,
October 15th
The day of birth of a new soon to be ruler of Valley of Thorns.
It was Malleus Draconia’s happiest moment of his life time. He had met someone who he had loved dearly. He never thought after graduating Night Raven College to become king and to be in an arrange marriage for a while. Managing to find love. It was a huge celebration when he and his significant other got married. It was all over the news. The Next big that came out was the queen carrying his child.
When the news started to spread like while fire, The Valley of Thorns people couldn’t wait for months to come!
That day finally arrived,
The Queen’s water broke that made the servants to rush her to a hospital as the order from the king. He went with them along the way to the hospital. To his worry, his significant other wasn’t doing too well. They was struggling to give birth after hours passed. As soon as they finally gave birth to a baby boy. The queen was starting to pass out. Malleus couldn’t tell what was going on but Lilia and the doctor pulled Malleus aside. Malleus told them to do whatever they can to help them...
After hours later, the doctor confirmed came to Malleus and Lilia. Towards them as if he couldn’t look at them directly...He confirms the queen didn’t make it. Malleus felt as if a ton of bricks had hit him. The love of his life was gone...
He asked quickly about the baby. When they told him the baby was healthy. Malleus told them to bring him to him.
The one of the other doctors brought the newborn baby to him. He handed him over to the king gently. The king held the baby carefully to his chest like a delicate feather. He was so small to him like a little ragged doll. It made himself go ill, knowing that this was all he had left from his dearly departed queen. He couldn’t stand looking at the newborn, it made him want to cry knowing this had happened… he gave the baby gently to Lilia by his side.
Later the news was happy about the baby being born but their hearts of Valley of Thorns broke knowing that their queen has died from childbirth. They were joyful of the baby being healthy. But days later of the funeral for their queen was a devastating moment at the kingdom.
They brought the flowers around the kingdom, it was almost as if a garden grew all around the palace.
The baby never got a confirmation about his name. Malleus couldn’t think about it. For a week he was isolated in his private office to work on to signs papers while his servants or guards were helping taking care of the newborn since it’s a king’s responsibility. Today, the servants, Silver or Sebek were having some trouble. He has cried none stopped to the point where they went to Lilia. His lullaby didn’t work on the baby! Lilia thought of an idea to handed the infant over to Silver for the elder faerie to go to Malleus’ office. He began to knock right at his door.
“My king, you’ve been overworking yourself. Please come out we need your help with something.” The long haired raven male said a loud in a calm tone.
Malleus pauses himself to lay his pen next to his paper work on the side of his desk. He sighed to himself, as if knowing what Lilia was going to tell him. He moves himself off his seat to leave his work place to open the door. He sees the familiar guardian that was always by his side standing before him with a smile.
“Hello Lilia, what is it?”
“You’ve been cooped up in there for a long while. You deserve a break for once to be with the baby for at least a half hour. Please. The poor thing hasn’t stopped crying.” Lilia told him, he knows he is still upset over the queen. But he must interact with his own child.
Yes being a king means responsibility, but he can be with his own child for a break. What kind of parent would he if he doesn’t? A terrible one at that.. He took a deep breath. Malleus himself knows that he has to be with his child. “Okay, I’ll try to help. But I must finish up the papers soon.”
Lilia nodded to him with a cheerful smile. “You might as hold it off now.”
Malleus locked the door to close it before leaving. The two wander over into a fairly nice room for a baby to be in with a cradle and some huge basket with baby toys. Gifts from others especially from Kalim.
Malleus stopped to hear, crying echoing in the room. Silver was holding the baby, rocking him for a bit. “Don’t cry anymore. Please.” He mewled a bit, upset with himself that the advice from his father to help this poor child.
“Silver! You’re rocking him too much! He must focus on the rattle!” Sebek snapped at him as he shakes the baby rattle for the baby to distract him from crying anymore. Silver’s eyes looked to Sebek,
“Please calm your voice down or he’ll cry more.” Silver said trying to sound quiet but baby wouldn’t stop whaling.
Lilia giggled for a bit as Malleus looked over to him. “Oh dear, we have a little situation.” Lilia took a few more steps over to the two young men.
Sebek looks back to see the king and Lilia. “Your majesty! You’re here!”
Silver sighed a bit, feeling as if this a terrible situation. But he was relived that they arrived. He handed the wailing baby over to his father who approached ot him. Lilia started to rock him gently,
“Ah you poor little one. There should be no crying in this castle!” He giggled a little he responds. His red eyes glanced to the king. “Just hold him. Maybe he’ll be happier.” He began to walk over to hand over the little baby prince. Malleus carefully holds him around his arms. The baby was still weeping none stop.
Malleus looks over the two guardians, “Have you fed him?”
“The maids have tried to but he would spit it out his bottles or a spoon full of food. I tried to have him have his pacifier but he would spit it out,” Silver explained what happened as he sighed a little, “we thought maybe he needed a diaper change so we changed him. We thought that would solve the problem but apparently not. He would still cry after that. We tried to have my father’s help for assistance. Not even his lullaby would help. The baby didn’t want to listen.”
“I woke Silver up when he fell asleep into the basket of toys.” Sebek said with a hand to his face.
“It was kind of funny,”. Lilia laughed to himself. He looks up to the king. “I thought he maybe ill but he isn’t. So we thought maybe he wanted you.”
Malleus’s green eyes landed down upon to the red faced scrunched up baby who was howling. Trying to remember how he handled Silver was a baby. Rocking the poor baby slowly, gently.
“Please little one. I’m here. What is it that you want?” He kept trying to think of what could possibly made this newborn be this way? They said he was healthy, they changed him, a rare thing for Lilia’s lullabies not to work on him. What could it be?
Was it his fault?
Was it his fault that he didn’t want to look at his own child? It must be it. Guilt strikes in the young king. He was making the dragon king down in ill. All because the loved of his life had such a cruel death. The thought of giving birth to the child you’ve been longing to meet since you’ve wanted a child, and then death takes you away. Not even at least letting them hold the newborn for at least for long...
Why?
Why them?
Before Malleus could get into deeper thought, a tug was pulled by his hair made him snap out of it. It was not a hard tug. His green eyes analyzed the small hand gripping onto his streak of long hair. Green orbs trailed to the baby starring right up at him with teary glittering eyes. Whimpering a bit. He never noticed he had the same green eyes as him. The watery eyes reminded him of little stars for some odd reason.
He wasn’t crying as much but his whimpers were fading. He placed the baby’s head onto his shoulder.
“Oh! He’s not crying anymore!” Lilia said with a grin.
“Thank goodness...” Silver mumbled.
“Hush Silver!” Sebek snapped at Silver.
“Malleus try the rocking chair. Maybe he’ll fall asleep if you’ll sit down.” Lilia insisted.
Malleus walks over to the rocking chair near the baby cradle. Malleus sits down rocking the chair with the baby still whimpering.
“Sing him a lullaby. Maybe with you it’ll work.” Lilia encourages the dragon faerie king.
The king took a deep breathe again, he remembers a lullaby by heart. He used to listen to when he was little from his grandmother or Lilia. An ancient lullaby that used to make children sleep every night. He started to sing the lullaby, hoping the infant would listen to the sweet song. It was soothing song, to anyone’s ears. The baby whimpers faded each time as Malleus was singing to him. His little head started to lay against him like a pillow. His little arms wrapped around his shoulder to grip onto. Lilia was smiling at this perfect picture of Malleus with his child. Sebek was in tears, it was such a precious moment in his life time to see his Young master with his baby. Silver had fallen asleep again as Sebek was holding him and shaking him to wake up. Sebek didn’t want to ruin this beautiful moment as in respect for the king. Malleus hears with his pointy ears the baby was sounding asleep.
Malleus didn’t want to let him go, he would to let this precious baby to stay in his arms forever.
Lilia tip-toed over to the king to whisper, “We should put him to bed now.”
Malleus nodded he slowly, feeling a little upset to let this moment end. But he got up from the chair to set the sleeping baby on his cradle to slumber. Lilia pulls the blanket over onto the boy. They slowly were leaving the room for the baby to have quiet. As soon as everyone walked out from the room. Lilia closed the door gently.
Sebek looks to his king as he started to speak quietly “That was the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed with you, your majesty. Your lullaby was breathtaking.” Sebek was trying to stay quiet but his sniffles is what made Malleus worried for the baby to hear. Lilia wanted to laugh at Sebek’s reaction but held it and gave him a handkerchief instead to wipe away his tears.
Silver crossed his arms as he speaks to the king, “Malleus, have you thought of name? We never got a confirmation about his name since… You know.” Silver spoke no further in a quiet tone. It did bother him that Malleus never named the baby since he was grieving over the queen’s death. The King had a depression after all, he couldn’t come up with a name. He now thought about it for a moment.
“Hm your right. But I think I know what to call him,” The three looked at him, “The child of mine should be named, Luan.”
“It’s perfect!” Sebek exclaimed happily.
Lilia and Silver hushed him to keep quiet. Lilia’s pointy ears started to hear a little whimpering from the other side of the door as he made a sheepish smile. “Oh dear…” looking at the door.
Malleus quickly goes inside the room to go see the baby whimpering awake. He quickly picks Luan up into his arms.
“My deepest apologizes, your majesty! Forgive me!” Sebek cried.
“Sebek, just stop talking.” Silver said with a hand to his face.
Malleus cradling to look down to small prince. Luan doesn’t seem like he was about to cry. His eyes were closed and he scrunch his noses. He wiggled around in the king’s arms. The king was puzzled at the moment.
“What’s the matter, Luan?”
The baby opened his mouth to let out green flames at his father’s face. His bangs were on fire.
“Your majesty!!” Sebek and Silver both exclaimed as Lilia started to laugh hysterically.
Malleus uses his magic to evaporate the green flames. Although his bangs were crusty, the end of his tips of the hair were crumbled or a little burned out.
“That brought back some nice memories~!” Lilia said reminding himself of the nostalgic memories.
The little Luan stared at Malleus as he started to whine a little almost teary eyed. Malleus shushes him trying to soothing as he kisses the tiny forehead.
“I’m not injured, no need to worry.” Malleus said, uses his arm to hold the baby to push back his burnt bangs. Showing his mark on his forehead. His eyes looked down to Luan’s big green eyes looking right up at him. His baby arms squirmed around to grab Malleus’s hair. He uses his black nail-polished finger to dangle to the baby for him to grab it fully in the little palm of his.
Malleus’s corners of his lips started to rise.
It was the first time that Malleus has made that expression to anyone for a while….

Hey Yume, some of your one shots have the boys being really rough on the poor reader. How would they react if they wound up ALMOST killing reader because of their rough treatment? Would their behavior towards Reader change?
*SINFIC CH. 10 FLASHBACKS a-about that, Honey...ヽ(;▽;)
Riddle and Malleus would feel their own hearts skip multiple beats that it actually hurt. They drop everything that their holding, probably their staff, and every action that could bring further danger to you would be ceased immediately. They’ll quickly check you in every angle to see if you’re injured anywhere else and would try to talk to you just to make sure that you’re still breathing, looking closely you could clearly see the look of fear in their eyes. Riddle would probably panic real bad while Malleus would remain quiet, but the beating of his heart is deafening. They’ll stumble over their own words when given the chance to talk to someone (Trey/Lilia) as they try to explain what happened.
This would probably alert their paranoia in the coming future, fearing that something similar might happen again and would one day take your life in an unfair way. They would be a lot more gentle, and in Riddle’s case, would lower down his resitrictions to make sure you won’t suffocate with them too much. They’ll make sure this won’t happen again, but they’ll become more protective, that’s for sure.
Trey, Ruggie, Jamil, and Silver aren’t usually the types to be rough with their Darlings, but for the sake of this ask, let’s just say that you did something that really ticked them off, causing them to act like so. Since these are the characters that has their emotions kept under control most of the time, they’ll most likely won’t recognize how much strength they have used against you. This would result into their own surprise as they realized that their Darlings barely responded and was at the brink of passing out because of it. They’ll immediately have their guard up, quickly running to your side to inspect whatever injury you’re suffering from. All jokes and silliness would be wiped away from their faces as they tend to you in all seriousness, talking to you so you wouldn’t fall completely unconscious and god forbid, never wake up again.
They may sound calm when they’re tending to you, if your injury is something that they can’t handle alone, they’ll have no problem calling someone who’s a lot more professional than they are. Their words are clear and no trace of nervousness can be heard, but that’s just in your and other people’s perspective. Looking deep into their hearts, it’s racing so fast that it can’t even put into words. They know what they did wrong and for the first time since they got you, they felt actual fear that they might’ve lost you right then and there. They’ll apologize to you right after, smiling at you, saying how everything was their fault.
Of course, this will motivate them to do better next time, to keep their emotions calm no matter how intense the situation may be for the both of you. Because you never know, there might never be a next time around.
Ace, Cater, and Floyd are the types that wouldn’t notice their sudden fit of strength at first. Whether they got too excited, angry, or irritated, they won’t notice how much they have hurt you the first time. If you’re not responding, Cater and Ace would probably dismiss it as you being uncooperative, Cater might even fake a sulking personality saying how “teasing him is so mean”. However, someone like Floyd wouldn’t appreciate getting ignored by his Darling so if say, you lost consciousness during this time around, expect that he’ll try shaking you awake, possibly even rougher than before as he expects you to constantly tend to him in his every needs. But everything would change for these three men when you either start to bleed from an injury, your breathing slows down, or your completely unresponsive no matter how much they try to shake you awake.
They’ll all probably have similar reactions, they’ll call out for you gently at first, trying to wake you up and saying that what you’re doing isn’t “funny”. Eventually, they’d come to understand that this was no prank, you’re really losing every bit of your life right in front of them and that immediately place a heavy weight of panic upon their shoulders. They would curse both yourself and themselves as they try to tend for you, clearly unaware of what to do. Floyd would most likely call Jade or Azul, whining how Little Shrimpy’s “not moving” anymore while Ace and Cater might do the most reasonable act and take you to a nearby hospital. After this crisis had been averted, I think that although they may have the similar reactions, they’re behavior right after would vary from each character.
Floyd and Ace will most likely bring that blame on yourself, Ace especially saying how things happened the way it is because you’re so stubborn and that you’re not following his orders at all. You just won’t expect an apology from Ace at all, but deep down inside he knows that he’s the one who’s guilty but just can’t admit it himself. Floyd, on the other hand, will also put the blame on you but not in the way you think he would. He’ll most likely blame you because of how you made him feel throughout that whole ordeal, that it’s Little Shrimpy’s fault that he’s this worried and anxious now. He doesn’t blame you for what happened to you, in fact, I think he does realize that he’s the one at fault and would even apologize, although he sounds like a child saying sorry to another child he stole a crayon from.
And now, we have Cater, who would definitely recognize his own faults but covers it up with a smile as he apologizes in such a half-assed manner. You, as his Darling, would have a hard time believing him even though the guilt is practically eating Cater on the inside. He’s just not really that honest with himself, plus such a dark atmosphere is not something he’s good at handling, you know? But he made extra sure that you can see how serious he is when he said that he can change his ways, that he’ll control himself from now on so that was at least something. As for Ace and Floyd, they wouldn’t really change all that much after everything is all said and done, except for a few hesitance here and there, not wanting for the same situation to strike again.
At least they’re doing their best, yeah?
Deuce, Jack, Epel, and Sebek are characters that are generally rough when they get too ahead of their emotions, even if they try to control themselves. But sometimes, things happens and they get a bit too far in line and almost immediately, once they hear an unusually loud gasp of pain from you, that’s when they know that they did something very wrong. Just seeing your weakened form would automatically shift their realization to their own strength and how rough they had been, however before they could even apologize, what they did had unfortunately already happened. Deuce especially would try to tend to you with whatever he can, panicking the most out of the four as he tries to remember what he could do at this dire moment. Obviously, he can’t treat your wounds like how he recklessly does his in the past after a brutal fight so he would probably result into calling a senior or a nearby hospital if the injury looks too risky.
Epel would panic, but a little less than Deuce at least as he would remember all the herbalism lessons he received from Vil, and what kind of treatment he should do with such injury. Despite everything, he’s still a Pomefiore student who prides himself with potions along with everyone else, right? He’s determined about which potions to give you, all those hellish training he received must’ve prepared him just for this moment. Of course, when things goes to down south and he isn’t able to act up fast enough, he’ll suck up his pride and go to either his Vice Dorm or Dorm Leader themselves for some help. Jack and Sebek would have similar reactions though, but of course, Sebek would be the one to panic first.
Sebek will check if your situation is something he can handle first, calling out to you with his usual loud voice, slowly getting frightened that his tone was doing nothing or even lifting your consciousness back up. Sebek doesn’t trust any other humans to take care of you so he’ll probably go to Lilia during times of desperation, explaining loud and clear what happened and humbly asks for his help. Meanwhile, Jack is the type to be calm on the outside but that single strand of sweat down his forehead shows how nervous he really is on the inside. He’ll do everything he can to save your situation, trying to ignore the overwhelming guilt in his heart for now as he takes you to a nearby hospital. Yes, he’s calm but he still might end up blowing a fuse and growls aggressively when a staff member asks too many questions since he’s so anxious that they you might not make it if they don’t take care of you right away.
Overall, I think all of them but Sebek would have similar reactions and outcome right after. They’ll apologize and would promise to you that something like this won’t ever happen ever again and that they’ll take care of you better. Sebek however, would be quite stubborn about it, shifting the blame on you for being too “weak” to handle something like that. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s not guilty himself, he won’t openly show it but along with all the other three, they’ll become a lot more protective than they used to be, shielding you from anything that’s harmful. They’ll be a little less overbearing and could even give you a bit more freedom despite their own paranoia if you really want to.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you can take advantage of that, okay?
Leona is aware how rough he is with you, that’s just his overall nature as a beast after all. Though, you might not notice this time around, but he actually tries to hold back whenever he can to accomodate to your needs, so that you wouldn’t break so easily within his hands. But today does not seem to be the day, control was not added to his list this time around. Clicking his tongue as soon as he noticed the alarming difference in your breathing and heartbeat, he’ll most likely throw his phone at Ruggie or Jack to call the nearby hospital along with his wallet too, though he doesn’t like the thought of handing you over to someone, even if it were medical professionals. If there’s a healing potion nearby, he’ll quickly snatch it up, read the first label, before shoving it down your throat without even reading the rest of the potion description.
...Now, you might see him as reckless and even more aggressive than before when you were fine, but you have to understand. This was desperation he’s feeling, there was no way in hell he’ll admit it but the moment he felt your heartbeat slow down, his emotions dropped down in an alarming rate too, you know? So, of course he’ll be this aggressive when trying to save you from a life or death situation. There was just no way that he’s going to let you go out like this, death doesn’t even have the right to take you away from him. Of course, despite everything, this doesn’t really change his ways after everything’s all said and done, you know?
An apology just doesn’t seem like something that would come out of Leona’s mouth anytime soon so, I don’t recommend expecting anything. In fact, he might even get angry at you, saying things like how you took way too long to recover and won’t even give you time to protest back. But he’s aware that he’s at fault at least, he accepted it actually, but frankly, he just doesn’t care if you see him as a villain or anything lik that. He’ll still treat you with the same roughness and aggresiveness as before, but somehow you began to notice how his bites doesn’t seem to dig as far beyond your flesh that it bleeds anymore, it was just enough to cause a mark now. You don’t even dare to mention how cuddling time seems to last longer than it should’ve had.
Situations like these might bring Azul and Kalim to tears, realizing that their actions had gone too far for your body to handle. They’re quick to use all the healing elixirs they had and Kalim would immediately call for Jamil’s assistance while Azul calls for the twins. Some potions takes a while to take in effect, it’s a fact that they knew however just can’t tolerate the thought of sitting there and not doing anything, Azul most especially. They’ll call for multiple doctors that they had personal connection with, Kalim would even call for doctors that works for the royal families and doesn’t care how much he’ll have to pay them even if it means saving his Darling. Azul would be the type to yell at each doctor to hurry the hell up before it’s all too late due to panic, so different from his usual calm self.
Their behavior changes quite similarly with each other as they would both apologize to you over and over again, their arms wrapped around you as if you’ll disappear once they loosened their hold. This is probably going to traumatize both of them and will become even more protective than they ever did with you, watching everything you do in anticipation of another dangeous situation. Kalim has a better grasp over his emotions since he listens to you better and promises to never become rough with you ever again, but he’ll stay with you for the majority of the time, granting everything you could wish for and to make sure that you’re being taken good care of. But good luck trying to talk you way out with Azul though, this man is a bit more unhinged when it comes to his emotions. He won’t listen to your suggestions because he only believes in the things that he thinks is right for you.
Although Azul promised you that he won’t be as rough next time, you have a feeling that this uncontrollable paranoid feelings of his would be the exact thing that would ultimately lead him to break his own promise.
Jade, Rook, and Lilia would be surprised but not at all panicked, these are the characters that knows fairly well how nimble human life could be and had already prepared for situations like this. They’ll carefully tend to you and fix what they did wrong, soothing your pained expression in a matter of minutes, since they’re so used to this by now. They’ll apologize right after, feeling genuinely saddened by what happened to you as an outcome of their own selfishness, but I don’t think they’ll change their ways anytime soon. It’s disturbing to think that they might even do it again for all we know, just to observe what will happen and to know how far they can really go. But they’ll have to make sure to be very careful the next time they try though, they won’t like you broken after all. A terrifying thought, isn’t it?
It might capture Vil off-guard at first, the way his Darling suddenly weakened for receiving too much punishments, but it was nothing to worry about when he’s this talented when it comes to elixirs. With just a single drop, he’s confident that he can clear you all off your pain and injuries would go away just like that, if you’re a good girl that is, but of course, he’ll use it when it’s a life or death situation...Unless the potion doesn’t work, then that would be a different story which would lead Vil to immediately contacting the nearest hospital. I think Vil would definitely realize his own faults here and apologize to you right after, but expects you to learn your lesson as well. It doesn’t really change the way he acts towards you but he’ll certainly become a lot more careful in the future.
Idia wouldn’t know what to do and panic with tears prickling around his eyes as the blue flames that is his hair roared in anxiety. His flexible fingers would do a quick search in the net in mere seconds, but none of the solution seems to align with what he did, plus you were running out of time so he needed to actually move for real. He’ll use Ortho to initiate medical mode on you in which the young robot will be more than willing to do while he remains by your side, apologizing constantly, saying how much of a screw-up he is that he wasn’t even able to take care of you properly. This will definitely scare him in the future, especially now that he realized how fragile you really are. He got a good glimpse of what will happen if he ends getting too comfortable with your body, the mere thought of it happening again will traumatize him enough that he might not even touch you for a while.
...He will get lonely though so, little by little, he might try to talk to you, always asking if you’re okay.
This took me way too much time but it’s worth it~ (΄◉◞౪◟◉`) I love it when these boys suffer because of their own yandere consequences lol

TW Boys vs Durians
So my dad just bought some durian puffs for the family & that’s what prompted me to write this 😂😂 I personally love durians but ik there are many who can’t stand the smell. Just curious dear readers, but how do you feel about durians?
Scenario: G/N!MC feeling homesick and craving food from home asked Sam if he was able to obtain durians for them. The businessman was glad to oblige, for a decent price of course! How he gets them we will never know, but now MC has a whole bunch of these exotic fruit, so they set out to each dorm wanting to share some and feeling curious about everyone’s reactions.
*Bonus: Grim literally eats suspicious looking black rocks off the ground, so eating a durian is nothing special to him as he wolfs down the fruit hungrily. The Ramshackle dorm will definitely reek of said fruit for many days but neither of the occupants really mind~*
Riddle wrinkles his nose after catching a whiff of the durians. Because of his strict upbringing, he never got to eat too many different types of food unless his mother told him to. However being the dorm leader, he knew he had to set a good example to his dorm members, so he bravely took the first bite. It was definitely a strange flavour but he didn’t seem to mind too much.
Trey has actually heard of durians before given that his family runs a bakery, although he has never tried them. He gets used to the strong smell pretty fast and asks MC if he could keep some to use in baking for the next Unbirthday party. MC happily agrees and recommends making puffs, crepes and even chocolates.
Cater probably has the worst reaction out of all the Heartslabyul guys. He immediately backs up after smelling the fruit, refusing to get closer even with ADeuce constantly teasing him. It’s only when MC remarks that it would make for a pretty popular Magicam post does Cater approach, quickly using his camera’s burst mode to snap multiple photos.
Ace being quite adaptable, also gets used to the strong smell easily. He’s usually up for a little challenge and doesn’t mind trying out this new fruit. It didn’t go as smoothly as he hoped due to the mushy consistency but he managed to swallow his bite by downing it with some water.
Deuce is not the most enthusiastic about trying out this foreign food and the smell definitely didn’t help, but he musters up the courage to try it anyway, since it was MC who brought it. Didn’t help that Ace definitely taunted him to eat it. He actually takes it pretty well (even better than Ace), shyly remarking that he had eaten some pretty nasty stuff during his delinquent days.
Leona picks up on the foul scent of durian from a mile away, and it’s safe to say that this lion is definitely not eating whatever “fruit from hell” as he calls it, that MC had brought. He grumbles to them to remove it immediately as he doesn’t want to stink up the entire dorm, especially his room. MC had anticipated that reaction but comments slyly how lucky they were to be graced by the presence of two kings that day. (Durians are known as the king of fruits & Leona will always be king in my heart)
Jack initially thinks that MC had brewed a potion wrongly or something because they smelt weird. After explaining the situation, Jack apologetically declines trying some due to his sensitive nose and MC totally understands. Though they can’t help pouting slightly since they realized no one from this dorm would want to eat durians because of the off-putting smell.
Ruggie is the only Savanaclaw member who dares approach MC from the mention of food. Are they sure it’s not rotten? He can’t help feel suspicious because of the scent but decides to take MC’s word for it. With his deft hands, he swiftly takes some durian flesh and stuffs it into his mouth, while pinching his nose with his other hand. Secretly he willingly ate it knowing that he would be able to slack off on Leona’s duties since the scent would be stuck on him.
Azul gingerly pokes at the soft durian flesh as it oddly reminds him of his squishy octo-form. This is certainly something you don’t see everyday and he’s contemplating if it would be able to sell well in Mostro Lounge. He urges MC to share their findings regarding everyone’s reactions with him, promising to sign a mutually beneficial contract with them should the majority response be positive.
Floyd exclaims loudly about the durian odour but doesn’t seem too put off by it. He is definitely intrigued and even tries chomping on it in an effort to see which is stronger: his sharp teeth or the durian spikes, much to MC’s horror. He remarks that the texture is similar to the shellfish that he eats, and probably the only reason he’ll eat more is to tease people who hate the smell.
Jade is also intrigued but has a more subdued reaction as compared to Floyd. He’s not one to shy away from questionable food being a mushroom collector. He politely accepts the piece offered to him, thanking them for letting him try something new. Like Trey, he asks MC to let him keep some so that he may try experimenting with it for a new menu item.
Kalim is excited when MC cheerfully offers him some durian to eat as usually it’s the other way around where he throws a huge feast for them instead. He does comment on how it smells funky but doesn’t hesitate to taste it (at least after Jamil tried it first). Kalim has had his fair share of exotic foods so isn’t too bothered by the texture or smell. While the durian could never compare to his favourite coconut, he still enjoys it nonetheless.
Jamil isn’t too bothered by the smell either since he’s used to the scent of strong spices in their cooking. Besides he knows he will have to try it first regardless, since Kalim would be eating it. He is still thankful towards MC and even brews some refreshing tea to pair with the durian. Jamil chides Kalim who initially suggests throwing a durian party, but wouldn’t be against making some durian chips with MC since it was simple enough.
Vil is surprisingly not bothered by the strong smell, though he does remind MC to stay outside the dorm so as not to frazzle the other students. As a dignified celebrity he must always keep his cool, though he is tempted to eat some after hearing that the fruit is rich in nutrients and promotes healthy skin. Unfortunately he can’t due to having a photoshoot later but he’s definitely down to try some on his off days.
Rook is caught off guard initially, both from the appearance and smell of durian. He’s quick to recover but declines trying some, mentioning how he has to refrain from standing out when stalking his prey. Also MC swears they heard Rook muttering something about turning the spiky shell into a hunting weapon of sorts, though they choose to brush it off for their own safety.
Epel brushes off the smell like it’s nothing, which makes sense given his upbringing (I mean he literally made his own fertilizer and wasn’t fazed by that stench at all!) He’s eager to try some stating how manly it would make him since even the Savanaclaw people didn’t dare eat it, and ends up really enjoying it.
Idia panics upon seeing MC approaching his room holding the durian, thinking he is about to be attacked. Is this revenge for him beating them during the recent gaming night? And wow the smell was definitely something... He sarcastically remarks that if the spikes weren’t enough to kill anyone, the smell would definitely finish them off. Not to worry though, Idia has a super air filtration system built into his room that nullifies the stench easily.
Ortho is busy scanning this fascinating fruit and updating his already extensive database. Even if he can’t actually taste or smell it, he does want to be knowledgeable about it since MC claimed that it was one of their favourite foods.
Malleus is grateful that MC considers him a close enough friend to let him try something from their home. Humans certainly eat some interesting things don’t they? Still he feels some sort of kinship towards this fruit, perhaps it’s how the exterior seems intimidating to many, in contrast to its soft interior. He teases MC to be careful when handling the fruit so that they don’t prick their finger on the sharp spikes.
Lilia doesn’t hesitate to pluck a piece of durian from MC while hanging down from the ceiling and proceeds to munch on it, not fazed at all. He smugly states that it’s an acquired taste and thanks MC for letting him taste such exquisite food. His eyes twinkle in excitement when MC recounts how delicious durian ice cream is and volunteers to make some for the rest of dorm.
Silver is definitely woken up by the sudden pungent smell but relaxes after seeing his master and father calmly eating away. Lilia encourages him to try some which he accepts, although he falls asleep again not too long after. It is definitely a rare sight as no woodland animals gather near Silver that day, most likely avoiding him due to the smell.
Sebek almost screamed at MC for bringing something so foul-smelling into their dorm but held his tongue after seeing how excited they were. He would be spurred on to try some since Malleus had no problem eating it despite really not liking what he was about to put in his mouth. After all he couldn’t call himself a bodyguard if such a trivial fruit stumped him.

I don’t know if you’re still doing requests but if so, I reallly liked the not wanting a child one with Vil Leona and Malleus. Could you do it with Lilia, Rook, Azul, Floyd, and riddle? If you have time? If that’s too many people than just Azul, Rook and lilia. Only if you’re able to. Thank you. Have a nice day. 💖💖💖
Oh boi this was challenge but I love how it turned out! Sometimes when writing dialogues for the boys,I hear their Japanese voices and the struggle of needing to find the English equivalent to that hurts my braincells 😂😂 I'm looking at you, Floyd (눈‸눈) Lmao but really,I enjoyed writing this, so thank you for requesting this! Hope you all like it as much as I do ♥️ imsorryriddlegotangstyandimblackbutlertrash
Warning; Toxic relationships and mentions of physical abuse
Lilia Vanrouge
- He's planned this the moment he realized he wanted to be with you! Children are a hassle, true, but the thought of being the father to your child made Lilia want to run in circles.
- He was aware of how you often avoided the question though, and unlike Malleus, he was more patient as he slipped in small hints and tested the waters. Seeing which part of the topic took you off.
- Lilia, ancient and wise, believed that if he pushed you the wrong way, nothing good would come out of it. You'd be unhappy and an unhappy mother would lead to an unhappy child, and that's the last thing he'd want.
- Lilia sees the image of him standing beside you with your three children almost every single time he looks at you, and he knows happiness is key!
- So,he pampers you and he studies you. Every single reaction you give him, he digests it then analyses it and finally forms an approach.
- The two of you were in his manor's library when he went into the conversation, and as he expected you were trying to divert the whole topic.
- "I'm practically a child myself, I don't think I can handle such a responsibility...I'm sorry,Lilia" You hung your head low, averting his gaze when he came up beside you.
- Lilia was always hard to read. He wore the exact same expression most of the time and even when he's in a whole other mood, it doesn't show.
- When he intertwined your fingers with his though, a slight sense of relief washed over you and a small smile curved on your lips when Lilia pecked your cheek.
- "But little lantern, having small candles beaming through the manor would be pleasant in a way wouldn't it? I'd especially spend more time here with them" His voice was so soothing then, you could never have sensed the sourness in it at all. The way he simply and casually carried his aloof air around you, and had you feeling a sensational warmth from the way his hand held yours.
- You were clueless to the fact he was spinning you into a web. One you'd never be able to escape from.
- "And think of the things you could teach them about your world! Or how anyone can do anything despite having no magic"
- "Doesn't that bother you though? Our children not having magic?"
- The word 'Our' perked his ears. Lilia smiled, feigning an innocence you were too naive to see was rehearsed.
- "It doesn't. Any child from you is magic already."
- "You say that, but you could have children as strong as Malleus if I wasn't a simple human"
- Ah, that's when Lilia's plans ticked perfectly.
- "It's because you're human I want to have children with you, little lantern"
- "I'm here with you now because despite being considered someone defenceless against mages, you've proved yourself to be just as capable as the next student, even more so actually! You're a mystery,my love bird. Don't you see that?"
- You didn't. Of course not. You came from a place where magic was a fairytale, nothing but fiction. Twisted Wonderland was a place you had to struggle even more to be able to have your own footing and none of your trials were easy.
- He saw you as someone so special despite that? Your heart clenched at his words.
- And that's how he gets to you. He doesn't try it once and forces you into it when you refuse. No, Lilia simply keeps pushing.
- He'll make you feel as if you were no different to him or the other Twisted Wonderland residents who wielded powers you can't.
- His words would coo in your head whenever you doubted that a child of yours would do well in this version of the world.
- "They'll have you as a mother after all. Strong and reliable, they won't have any problems you couldn't fix!"
- "Bullied? You wouldn't allow such a thing in the first place"
- "Imagine them having eyes just like yours. Maybe then you'd be able to see how fiery your spirit is!"
- Lilia knows you all too well. Your lack of joy when talking about children came from the fact you were afraid you couldn't be good at it. Poor thing, being constantly dogged at by Crowley to run errands that drained you with exhaustion and confronting people who thought magic made them powerful. It's no wonder you feel numb from it.
- Oh,but no worries. His plan is perfect, and plays well for both of you.
- You don't want a child because you feared it being neglected? He'll just change that image of yours.
- On the day, you wake up to the sound of a baby crying and realized it was simply from a dream, you swear you've never felt so empty before. So, incomplete.
- Lilia doesn't bring up the subject of children for a while and it makes you anxious. Did he not want them anymore? Did your constant refusal made him give up on that? Give up on you?
- Your thoughts would run wild until you find yourself wrapping your arms around Lilia, teary eyed and apologizing as if the words had been burned into your throat and you desperately wanted it out before you lost your voice.
- And Lilia being the ever so gentle, ever so understanding lover, would hold you. Cooing to you as he plays with your hair softly.
- He'll ask you what was wrong, the hue in his gaze shifting when you stare deeply into them and you'll shed tears.
- "It's okay,my sweet" He coos, smiling, despite your sorrow weighing down the room. "Why don't you tell me what's wrong?"
- Lilia takes the long route to having children but it's all worth the wait when he sees you smiling lovingly at the newborn child in your arms as you gesture to the five year old next to you to come see their younger sibling.
- "Mommy, look, same eyes as you!" Cheered the child, and you perk up at the sight. Lilia was right, children were perfect remedies to a tired soul.
Azul Ashengrotto
- The thought of children,at first, terrified him. It'd be like trying to leash two more Floyds, wouldn't it? But then Jade mentioned that having children was similar to having a contract and something just clicked in his head.
- If he impregnated you, it'd be harder to run from him, right? And when he was truly a father then you'd have to look up to him to care for both you and the child, right?
- Of course! How didn't he see this sooner? What a fool.
- Azul would be hellbent on wanting a child and he'd try his hands at it multiple times, and was equally disappointed each time since all you ever did was refuse.
- "Kids are too hard to handle. We'd both be busy, and I don't think even Jade would have time to juggle them around when we can't." You sounded so bitter, so disapproving. It made Azul feel all dejected, as if you were just disgusted at the thought of having his seed inside of you.
- From then on,Azul starts to mope. His cool composure slips from time to time and it gets too often that Jade has to handle most of the clients. He'll pull a face when you ask him what's wrong and harshly tells you to leave him alone
- He's hurt, but he doesn't want to say it and he frustratingly tries to wrap his head around a plan to make his desire come true, playing out multiple routes in his mind to find a weak spot he could probe you with.
- "Why don't you want a child?" Azul asked you this right after closing Mostro Lounge. There's a hint of sorrow in his blue gaze when you come to meet it, and you wonder if you were too blunt with your answer.
- You shifted on your feet, something you did out of habit, and Azul took note of how out of place you seemed.
- "Cause I don't think either of us are ready?" You answer and in a split second, Azul's sorrow sharpened into irritation and you could just feel how badly that answer set him off.
- "Was that supposed to be an answer or a question?"
- "Azul, I don't want to fight over this." You reach out a hand to place on his shoulder, but he slapped it away with surprising speed and the hit leaves you slightly stunned. He'd never hit you before.
- "It's someone else isn't it?" He asked, almost a murmur. The way his gaze seemed to latch onto you then gave off an unsettling feeling.
- "You're seeing someone else, aren't you? That's why you don't want to have kids with me."
- "Azul,what are you—"
- He moved swiftly, but when his hands came to grip you by your shoulders, his nails sunk into your skin and his lips snarled at you.
- "Who is it? Tell me or I can't promise I won't hurt you right now." His rage practically frothed and you found no words to compensate for your lack of comprehension of the situation.
- "I don't care if it's Jade or Floyd. I'll take out anyone who wants to take you away from me!"
- Your lips parted,to speak perhaps, but Azul silenced you with his spiteful stare.
- "You're mine, aren't you? Why won't you just admit it? Why won't you just accept me already?"
- You thought the pain was from the words he threw at you; Sharp it resembled a hit from a whip, but then your vision had blurred and you were coughing up dry air it made your lungs hurt to take in anymore. Then you felt something run down the side of your lips, and only then did you realized Azul had thrown you right across the room and the wall collided against your body.
- There was a scream, so filled with frustration it wrecked your entire being you had to curl up in a ball before a strangled whimper came from your lips.
- "You're taking everything from me" Azul said, his still gaze watching your crumpled form. He sounded distant as if he wasn't really there, yet when he came over to cup your face with his hands, he had felt so real it hurt to look.
- You were so broken in his grasp then, he was sure you didn't even know where such anger came from, then again Azul was always aware of how reluctant you were in your relationship. You were with him only because he stirred you up in a contract. You never really did loved him as much as he loves you.
- The rising pleasure of being able to make you go through at least a portion of the pain he had to go through was surprisingly pleasant to have.
- He laughed before pulling your face close to his, nose almost touching. "Look how beautiful you are when you don't run your mouth or fight back", the words came in a coo yet you shivered from it.
- "I could make us the happiest couple in the world, you know. Our children would be the best among the best." Azul placed a lingering kiss on your lips, the scent of your blood edging him on. When you weakly tried to pull away, he gripped harder and bit your cheek until it bled and you were letting out small whimpers.
- "Don't cry,my sweet small seashell. If it hurts, I'm here for you. I'll make everything okay again. So, stop crying,I don't want our night of conceiving to be filled with tears."
Rook Hunt
- "Little Lamb, aren't you well enough to give me children?"
- You were merrily drinking tea when this question came out of the blue.
- Rook stood behind the chaise you were sitting on, his arms gracefully enveloping you in an embrace as his breath grazed your skin. He smelled of the forest right after rain, and his words left you rather stunned.
- "In the letter I received from Vil, he and his small hare were planning on having children of their own", he bent down slightly, enough to place a kiss on your cheek before he went around the chaise and faced you. The smile he wore rivalled the morning sun itself.
- You tried to collect your thoughts, tried to piece up the right words to tell him that you simply did not want children. In the end though, you decided it was better to just come out and say it.
- "Rook—"
- "Yes,my love?" His eyes seemed to beam, and Rook's eyes always beamed but this time, it was as if he had been playing the scene of your children running around the halls of his manor the entire day. Mesmerized was the word you'd use to describe it. Your chest tightened at the thought of breaking that dream of his. But you had to tell him...This was something you truly didn't want.
- "I don't want children,Rook." Blunt and precise, the words came from you without hesitation, and in that piercing second that held the room in silence, Rook felt his heart sank into the metallic jaws of disappointment. A mighty bear caught in the savage claws of man's horrid trap.
- He blinked. Once, then twice. By the third blink, you were already regretting your refusal and desperately searched for a way to amend for it.
- Unfortunately for you,Rook had already taken great damage, and as a result, he completely shrugged off your comment.
- "It would be splendid, wouldn't it? I would teach our sons to hunt and our little princess would have an entire garden built for her!"
- "Rook, didn't you hear—"
- "Yes! I can see it already! Our family would be such a joy to have!"
- You stood up then, exasperated by how delusional he sounded. You knew he didn't like the answer you gave him but to just pretend as if he hadn't listen! Just when you were about to turn on your heels to speak your mind,Rook stood as well, swiftly without a sound, and with the strength of a seasoned hunter he gripped you firmly by the waist and hoisted you up into the air.
- Your scream lodged in your throat and blood rushed to your head. Instinctively you held onto his hands, but when your eyes finally locked onto his, the deep-set emerald of his gaze turned luscious and vicious all at the same time and your words lost their volume.
- His lips curled, deliberately coy. When he lowered you and pressed your lips against his, your body flinched.
- "You'll give me good children, won't you?", he murmured before another kiss stole your breath again.
- "My precious dove, you'll make a fine mother."
Floyd Leech
- "Nee,nee, little shrimp, let's have kids, okay?" Floyd threw his arms around you as casually as always but the words he had said with the same amount of casualness was what staggered you on your feet.
- His sharp teeth bared, lips pulled into a grin, Floyd eyed you with great interest.
- You returned it with a terrified look.
- "No." You blurted out before even thinking, and Floyd frowned faster than he had grinned.
- "Why?" Flat and practically monotonous, his question sent a chill down your spine and you bit your lip out of habit.
- Floyd had always been unpredictable, mostly because he acted on how he felt rather than thinking it through first, and that's how you saw this whole situation. Maybe someone had said something, or maybe he met up with Cheka and somehow thought it would be nice to have kids, but he didn't really meant it. Right?
- "Nee,why don't you want kids?" He repeated his question, inching closer to you as you tried to avoid any physical trigger that would set him off. The mer-male had a tendency to bully you whenever you showed him any hint of feeling inferior to him, and that often ended with Jade having to tend to the 'love marks' he left behind on your body.
- "Why do you want kids anyway?" You shot back, minding how your tone sounded while still seeming firm. "They take up a lot of time you know? I'd have to pay more attention to them than to you"
- At the statement, Floyd arched his brows. The distant look in his eyes told you he was having a thought before his expression turned lax.
- "That's okay, I'll be there anyways so it's no big deal"
- "What?"
- "Hm? I'm telling you it's okay, little shrimp. Even Jade said he'd help around if it gets too much"
- He snaked his arms around your waist, pulling you real close to his chest until he could squeeze you tight.
- "It'll be fun,won't it?"
- Your body reacted before you could even comprehend anything, and it was only after you heard the dull thud of Floyd's back hitting the wall did you realized you had pushed him away.
- "You pushed me" He said this so softly, you thought you only heard it in your head but then he lifted his gaze and the mismatched orbs held such malice, your stomach lurched.
- "Floyd,I'm sorry...I didn't mean it, I just—"
- "Shut up. You're really pissing me off. " He elicited the words, each enunciation cut into sharp edges of glass scraping against your skin you wanted to close your eyes and run away from the whole thing.
- But with Floyd,if you ran, it meant you'd already lost.
- "What's with you? I ask all nicely and hug you and stuff, and you're pushing me? Jade said you didn't like kids but I told him that if it was with me you'd definitely say yes, cause after all, you're my little shrimp right?"
- You opened your mouth to speak, to say anything to avoid him having a tantrum, but Floyd let out a low growl and cut you off before you could.
- "Ah,I'm annoyed now. You should've just said yes but now...Now,I want you to come here"
- He opened his arms, the look in his eyes a spiral of aggression that shredded through your nerves.
- "I said come here,___, or you're gonna make me even more angry"
- You hated the way your body reacted to him. How it felt like you were a ghost in your own body as you watched yourself obey him.
- The coldness of his embrace had tears brimming your eyes and you pressed your face into his chest as if it was an instinct. An instinct to protect yourself.
- Floyd eased into your desperation, arms closing around you as he held you in his grasp. He was smiling but it was bland and it was meant to scare you.
- "Aha, you're crying! Aw,did you think I was gonna hurt you, little shrimp?"
- You shook your head, hands gripping onto his shirt as Floyd patted your head playfully.
- "Ah,it's cause you went and made me mad, right? Hahaha! You're a funny one, little shrimp. Always getting yourself into things you can't handle"
- Floyd then cupped your face with both hands, a feverishly possessive look in his eyes.
- "But,If you're really sorry you'll have to show me,okay?"
Riddle Roseheart
- Funnily enough, the suggestion of having children was brought up by Cater, and it had taken both you and Riddle off guard.
- Though, unlike you, Riddle saw it as an enlightenment. He adores you and acknowledges you to a great degree and so when the thought of being a father to your child crossed his mind, everything changed for him.
- "Children would be nice" He said, voice a soft lull as he nuzzled into the crook of your neck. The two of you had been laying on his bed all day, Riddle claiming his fellow dormmates had made his day stressful as always.
- You were running your fingers through his hair when his question struck a cord in you,yet you opted to keep your thoughts to yourself.
- Riddle was a rather conflicting partner to have. Unlike the other yanderes, he wasn't at all aggressive or wholly dominant when he began his recession of obsessive love for you, at least not all the time. When Riddle admitted his feelings for you, he had laid himself bare.
- Gentle but clingy, he latched himself onto you as if you were stitched together, and due to the lack of childhood his mother deprived him of, Riddle found great comfort in the way you handled him with such an understanding and loving attitude. Sure, you had your days when you let loose your tongue of sarcasm but that was also an aspect about you he adored.
- "Don't you think so,____?"
- Riddle called you by your first name now rather than your title as supervisor, he didn't have a nickname, said it was all just too stuffy for him. Plus, the way your name rolled so lusciously on his tongue, satisfied him.
- "I guess" was your answer, and somehow despite how casual you sounded Riddle couldn't help but to hear a slight hint of disapproval in it.
- Still, he smiled when he looked up to you and let out a gentle laugh.
- "Our children would surely be an outstanding batch, won't they? I'd teach them how to use their magic and if one of them can't, they'll have you" He sounded so genuine, so soft. It hurt you to inwardly disagree with him.
- You weren't really fond of kids but you were also not the type to admit it out loud, afraid that people would look at you badly if you did.
- "Hmm, you don't seem like you're excited..." ,His voice a gentle coo,Riddle pressed his body against yours, his lips lightly caressing your skin. You arched your back and a small laugh escaped him.
- "Doesn't the thought of having children makes you want to try it?"
- If your silence didn't set him off, the way fear swirled in the hues of your eyes did, and like a switch, Riddle clasped your throat with his hand, a snarl scrunching up his expression.
- "Answer me when I talk to you,____."
- You let out a strangled gasp, your hand coming up to grip his wrist only to feel it burn instead
- Riddle's gaze shifted, clear blue eyes resembling a flickering flame.
- "Don't touch me. If you even move from this position, I'll rip that head off of you faster than the March Hare himself."
- You flinched at his words, eyes shutting close as your chest throbbed in panic. This was what you were avoiding, yet ultimately failed to notice. His moods shifted so profoundly after all, it was like treading on Alice Liddle's stubbornness.
- "I... I'm sorry!" You managed, half a sob and half a plea. Despite his hands looking so fragile, Riddle's grip was like an iron clamp, and somehow his skin seemed to burn into yours.
- "If you're sorry, then why am I still angry,___?" Riddle laughed, "Why do I still want to punish you?"
- You broke into tears easily after that, hopelessness coursing through your veins and warping your features.
- This broke his heart as well, Riddle now knew the answer he was waiting for. You didn't want children with him.
- Near tears himself,Riddle released his grip on you, letting you fall onto his mattress and curl into a ball as he sat there, kneeling before you. He watched as you let out an agonizing sob and called his name, for what reason he wasn't sure. He didn't know if you really loved him or not. You probably stayed because you feared him as well like most people did. But he loved you,he really did. If the world he lived in was a twisted Wonderland, you were his salvation, his home.
- "I'm sorry,___",he said after tears had stained his own cheeks and his heart weighed him down and his chest felt like exploding. He inched closer to you before gathering your trembling form into his arms and burying your face into his chest.
- "I'm sorry I hurt you. I won't do it again,I promise" He held you so tight, you couldn't even grasp enough air into your lungs, but you held onto him nonetheless.
- "I don't like hearing you cry" Riddle murmured in-between sobs, "I love you,___. I just wanted to show you that I do"
- He repeated those words like a mantra, and you fell deeper into your sorrows, as if you shared a single heart with him and the pain the two of you felt somehow had mixed together until you were unable to tell them apart.
- Love with Riddle was maddening,it really was. It was like diving into a rabbit hole. Endless.
- "I love you too, Riddle. I'm sorry for making you mad"
- "I don't care about that anymore" Riddle held your face in his hands, cheeks flushed when you leaned close to kiss his lips first. "I don't care about children or anything. I just want to be with you"
- You smiled. "Maybe having a few wouldn't hurt,if it's yours,I'll be okay,won't I?"
- He pressed his forehead against yours, chuckling, "Yes,my Lady"

“Here,” Sam hands you a thick envelope. “Your pay, as usual.”
You trust Sam not to go behind your back and the mutual agreement set between you two, but you make sure to grab and stop him from walking away with all your produce just yet. You need to count the money he's handed over and ensure every last madol is where it should be. Thankfully, it is, but there are a few extra bills you know aren’t supposed to be in there.
You remove the extra money and hand it back to him. “You gave me too much.”
He pushes your hand back and shakes his head. “Consider this my holiday gift for you.”
You give him an incredulous look. “You sure? Because if you come back here next week telling me I owe you money I’m going to sick the wolves on you.”
Your threat is met with a hearty laugh from the shopkeeper. “Have I ever done you wrong, my friend?”
“Yes, you have actually.”
“Haha, good times indeed!” He casually waves at you as he hauls away your vegetables on a large wooden cart. “Happy holidays!”
You have half a mind to remind him that the holiday season is over. Instead, you decide that it’s best to just turn around and walk away. The money is in your hands and your produce is in his care and that's all there is to it. This season's harvest is now officially concluded and you can start prepping for the spring. After a long-deserved rest, of course. The few extra madols give you just a little more than what was needed to put down for a brand new generator for the dorm. You have a model already picked out ahead of time. All that's left is to order and wait for it to come in.
"Well?" Benji floats up to you as soon as you enter the front door. "Do we have enough?"
You proudly wave the envelope in the air. "We have enough and then some!"
Your housemates cheer and pull you into a group hug. Frankie takes the envelope from you and heads out, most likely heading to the safe you’ve hidden from Grim so he can put all the money together and deposit it at the nearest bank. Once the ghosts come down from their brief celebratory high, you excuse yourself and head to the backyard where Malleus is waiting for you.
"I'm back!" you happily announce your arrival.
"Welcome back," he smiles up at you. "Did you get your payment?"
"I did!" you nod. "Frankie's taking it to the bank, so I should be able to get that new generator before sunset."
"That's good. It'll be one less problem for you to worry about."
"You can say that again," you sigh. "Thanks for your help today. I'm surprised we managed to pick and clean everything up before noon!"
You situate yourself next to Malleus, who's sitting down on the low porch. Gunter's pups have been following him since breakfast and you don't think they'll be off his heels for some time. It's been like this since they were born. One might even be able to say that they like him more than they do you. Malleus doesn't show it or verbally express it, but you can tell he enjoys their attachment to him. He allows them to jump all over him and drench him in wet kisses without much of a fuss. Who knows, when they grow older they just might start following and taking orders from him rather than you. Maybe he won't need Sebek and Silver to follow him anymore if they stick around?
You can imagine Sebek being incredibly offended that a bunch of wild wolves took his job.
Malleus looks at you. "Have you given them names yet?"
"The pups?" you ask for clarification. "I've been meaning to, but my head can’t think of any. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them."
Malleus mulls over your offer. He picks up one pup at a time, trying to think of an appropriate name to give them. After about 10 minutes his shoulders go slack and he looks back over to you with disappointment. "I'm afraid I'm drawing a blank as well."
"Well, you gave it a shot," you clap your hand on his shoulder. "Tell you what. Once we get that new generator, we can sit down and do a bit of name-brainstorming over some tea."
"Yes, that sounds lovely," he smiles again, and you start to realize that he has a damn good smile. "When do you want to get together?"
"Sometime next week. With the extra money Sam gave me I can get the generator in faster!"
Malleus seems momentarily excited, but it quickly dies as he suddenly realizes something. "Can we meet the week after next? I have something important coming up."
"Sure," you say. "What's happening next week?"
"It's…" he hesitates. "It's my birthday next week."
Your eyes pop wide open. "Oh shit, for real?"
"Indeed."
One of the pups desperately tries to jump up onto the porch, but his stubby legs and meager strength aren't enough to push him over the edge. As you reach down and help him up, you ask, "How come I'm only hearing about your birthday now?"
Malleus carefully lifts the other pups onto the porch as well. "You never asked me."
"No kidding", you snort. "To be honest, I thought that maybe you didn't celebrate it anymore since you're hundreds of years old. Don't birthdays lose their novelty after a few centuries?"
"They do,” he agrees “I haven't had a grandiose party since I was about your age."
"Wow," your eyebrows lift in shock. "That's just rude."
He suddenly looks so terrified. "I didn't mean it-"
"I'm kidding!" you quickly reassure him. "Lighten up Tsunotarou! I'm not going to shoot you for poking a bit of fun at me."
"So you say," he grumbles.
"I'm not!" you defensively shrill. "If you're talking about the time I shot at those sea worms, I had every right to! No way in hell was I gonna be intimidated into giving my dorm up. Not now. Not ever."
Those "sea worms" you're referring to are Jade and Floyd Leech from Octavinelle. During exams week, Ace Deuce and Grim as well as many other students who made a deal with Azul for his infamous study guides practically kissed the very ground you walked on in order to convince you to rescue them from their dubious contracts. Initially, you refused their request no matter how much they pleaded or bothered you. It wasn't until Jade and Floyd caught onto this bit of information (it’s hard to ignore a dozen students following you around like a bunch of chicks) that they began to set their sights on you. The two tried to squeeze you into a deal that would release everyone who signed a contract with Azul for his infamous cheat sheet, so long as you could keep up your end of the bargain.
It was clearly too good to be true or fair. Nevertheless, you decided to at least listen and attempt to negotiate some sort of proposal that would make both sides happy, if only to have your intruded space restored to normal. Unfortunately, Azul wouldn't settle for anything less than your dorm, which you refused to hand over despite Grim's OK to put it up for grabs. Jade and Floyd insisted you agree to the terms for the sake of your friends and fellow schoolmates, but you bluntly told them something that, to this day, never fails to make Malleus giggle even when he's in a foul mood.
"You're not getting my fucking dorm! Not now! Not ever!"
Unfortunately, Jade and Floyd began to follow you around too and even went as far as to visit your dorm during unconventional hours, on a regular basis. Their insistent arguments began to turn into veiled threats, and you aren't the type of person to take them all too well. Malleus remembers visiting you one day only to find you out on the roof, your hunting rifle in hand, keeping a vigilant eye out towards the gates for the Leech twins to make their expected visit. Malleus knew that your weapon is a dangerous one when used correctly, but he did not expect as much power behind it as it had until you shot a couple of live rounds near the merfolk's feet.
His ears still ring thinking about that powerful discharge.
"Where is your rifle?" he asks. "Also, where is your falcon?"
"Twilight? She's still upstairs in her cage." You make a vague gesture towards the second floor.
Twilight is a falcon that you found during one of your hunting trips, having suffered a nasty injury to her wing. You have some experience with falconry so you immediately recognized her mannerism as that of a hunting falcon as well as her breed, an Aplomado. You tried to find her original handler while you nursed her back to health, but unfortunately, no one came forward to claim her and you decided to keep her. You and her bonded very easily, so rehabilitating and training her to take commands from you was a breeze. While you expected her to maybe leave your side once she was able to properly fly again, she remains determined to stick with you.
You stand up and turn towards the back door. "I should probably wake her up before she gets mad at me.”
"I'll watch over these while you do that," Malleus grabs one of the pups who topples over another and refuses to get off of them.
"Thanks!" You bend down and give him a quick one-armed hug from behind. "You're the best!"
As you're about to head back into your home, you stop at the door and turn back around. "Are you sure you want me to bring my rifle?"
"Do you not want to bring it out?"
"I don't mind bringing it. It's just, not everyone likes to be around guns."
Malleus nods in understanding. "Well, I'm not like everyone," he playfully remarks.
"No, you're not," you smile. "I'll be right back then."
"Take your time," he assures you.
"Rise and shine pretty bird!"
You lift the dark sheet off of her cage so she can bask in the morning light. Twilight was busy preening herself, but now that you're in her sight she begins to happily screech and shuffles closer to the door, eagerly awaiting for you to open it so she can jump on you.
You quickly slip on your handling gloves and help her transfer from her perch to your hand. Her sharp talons tightly grip around the sides of your fingers, but the thick leather prevents them from piercing your raw flesh. You snap your fingers a couple of times to get her attention focused solely on you. When she maintains steady eye contact with you, you reach into your pocket and present your other gloved palm to her. In it are some bacon bits you managed to snag from the leftovers of this morning's breakfast. She eagerly pecks and munches down the small meal.
"It still isn't the best time to go hunting, but how's about I let you out anyways and you can stretch your wings for a bit?"
She expands her wings and flaps them a few times, a sign that she's eager to take you up on your offer. You haven't taken her out to hunt for about a month, mainly because you were gone half of the time. The winters here are especially harsh, even with a bunch of fire faeries keeping the campus somewhat warmer. The pickings are also dry since most of the wildlife on the island are sticking close to their burrows to stay warm and wait out the season.
You've been itching to head out into the forest recently, but winter is usually a bad hunting season for you. Luckily, you've met and befriended a few of the locals on the island who live off the bounty of the land as you do. They tend to look out for one another and offer help during difficult times, and the barren winter is no exception. You make a mental reminder to reach out and ask where some of the best hunting spots on the island are once this generator fiasco is all taken care of.
"Now, you wouldn't happen to know where my rifle is, do you?" you ask her. When she goes to nibble a piece of your hair, you know that she has no clue.
As you're about to head down to the foyer (you often leave it there), a sudden squeaking noise catches both Twilight and your attention. There, at the other end of the hall, a beady-eyed Jerboa bounces up and down in a steady rhythm in an attempt to grab your attention.
Scarabia wasn't entirely traumatizing. You met Gizmo, the Jerboa before you, during one of the exhausting desert marches, nearly dead from severe dehydration. The little guy brought you a bit of comfort throughout the entire ordeal. He also was able to bring you the enchanted envelope Malleus gave you before he went back home for the winter break. It immediately sends any letter you place inside it to him once you set it on fire. How else could you have contacted him after your phone was conveniently confiscated after your first escape attempt?
"Good morning, little guy," you smile down at him. "You wouldn't happen to know where my gun is, do you?"
It seems he does, as he turns and begins to race down the adjacent hall. He stops every so often to look back at you, making sure you're still keeping up with him. Eventually, he stops in front of a door to one of several lounging areas. This one, in particular, is more the ghosts' lounge than anyone else's. It's filled with all sorts of memorabilia and photos from the dorm's heyday. The ghosts have shared a few stories about the shenanigans they got in when they were both alive and students at NRC. Interestingly enough, the dorm was a sort of "halfway home" for students undergoing the difficult process that is switching to another dorm. The idea was to separate the student from those of their originally assigned dorm so they can better learn and adopt the characteristics of the dorm they wish to transfer into.
Soon enough, the dorm began to house more and more people. A common feeling amongst the residents of the past was a feeling of displacement or disconnection towards the other formal dorms and the ideals they upheld. While not approved by the headmaster, the residents began to form a sort of pseudo dorm with its own set of principles as well as assigning a dorm leader and vice leader just as the others did. Nothing was ever written in stone, but the ghosts vouched that the main “characteristics” amongst Ramshackle’s past residents was a desire to establish camaraderie with those around them, no matter their background or origins.
Listening and learning what the Ramshackle once meant to them and so many others hit home for you. You lived near a small rural town, surrounded by people who were willing to share their resources with their neighbors and even the occasional stranger simply because it was a kind thing to do for one another. The students of NRC are willing to put their heads together, sure, but there almost always has to be some sort of catch that benefits the individual.
Living with students like that is stressful as hell. Somedays you just skip school entirely, having already gone through the many woes and few wonders of high school back in your world. You have zero patience to deal with people who only view each other (and subsequently you) as inferior or a mere stepping stone to trample over. Ace and Deuce are your friends and have proven that they are "exceptions" so to speak. However, they're still just a couple of kids. No matter how well you three communicate and work well with each other, there's just a natural disconnection you feel with them that not even magic can fix.
It makes your close connection with Malleus, someone who's centuries older than you, incredibly ironic. You've essentially had your life figured out back home, and in some strange serendipitous way, so does Malleus. He's going to become king of his home country immediately after or sometime after he graduates, while you were going to continue living that nice rural lifestyle you lived back home, alongside your 3 aunts and many cousins. At least, once Crowley finds a way to send you back.
Maybe that's why his confession felt so much more confusing and intensely when it happened. Everything seemed so linear before he uttered those three words to you. Now, it feels like the clear and concise timeline you've had pictured in your head for months is just one big blob of scribbles and nonsense.
"Am I doing something wrong?" you desperately ask Frankie. "Because it feels like I made some huge mistake and now it's coming back to bite me in the ass right now."
"Of course you haven't done anything wrong," he rubs your shoulder reassuringly.
"Then why does it feel like everything around me is slowly falling apart?" You're sobbing at this point. The cigar you took from him earlier is now abandoned, snuffed out in the ashtray. "Why does it feel like I'm falling apart?"
"Nu-uh," he shakes his head and gives you a stern look. "We're not gonna do none of that. Do you hear me? None."
"Then what the hell do I need to do?!" you shriek. "Frankie, I'm fucking losing it here. I'm one more backhanded dismissal away from kicking Crowley's teeth in. I swear, if one more overblot happens, so help me. I can't deal with someone else's problems when I can't even get a full night of rest anymore!"
"You've done nothing wrong, you hear me?" he reaffirms. "I get it, I do. Right now, life is handing you a bad hand and you don't have the people you usually rely on for support. I've been there kiddo. We all have. We may not be like your aunts or your loud-ass cousins,"
A smile finally cracks on your face. He's using your own words you've used to describe your younger family members. You love the little tykes, but they can be a handful sometimes.
Damn, you miss them, your aunts too. They're all that you have left after a messy custody battle with your parents. This garden. Your rifle. Hell, even your insistence at taking over many of the household chores have all been your desperate attempts of finding some sort of familiarity in this new and strange world.
"But remember, those in Ramshackle stick together and help each other out when they're in a pinch. We'll handle all the little stuff, the cooking, the cleaning, the occasional clogged pipe," he scoffs, annoyed just thinking about the pipes clogging up again. They've been doing it a lot lately and everyone in the house is incredibly over it. "Right now, your only priority is yourself. Okay?"
It takes you a moment to really take in his words, but eventually, you nod in understanding. "Alright," you affirm out loud.
He squeezes your shoulder. "Good."
A sharp and muffled whistle pulls your attention away. Johnny's voice is a little hard to make out, but you're able to make out "generator working" and "warm coffee".
"C'mon," Frankie holds open the glass door and ushers you outside. "I don't know about you, but I could use a cup of coffee."
"I could use two," you sigh.
He gives one last squeeze around your shoulder. For a moment, it feels like you're back home. You feel a little better too. A little bit more secure.
As you enter the room, you see that Benji, and Johnny are gathered for the usual late morning/early afternoon poker matches.
"Hey, prefect," Benji, the first one to notice your entrance, greets. "Need something?"
"Have you seen my rifle?" you look around the room for any immediate sign of it. "It's been a while since I used it and I've completely lost track of it."
"Should be under one of the floorboards here," Johnny, who is playing busy rearranging his cards, says. "If not, try the floorboards in the living room."
You thank him and begin carefully stepping and tapping your foot against the wooden floorboards, trying to find and search one of many secret spaces made back in Ramshackle's glory days. Nothing dangerous (you hope) was ever hidden. It was mainly used by the students who lived here during its heyday to hide bottles of alcohol and cigarettes. You know, the typical items a bunch of teenage outcasts would keep around.
There was actually a bottle of some rare and expensive wine that was left behind as the number of residents began to dwindle. You and the ghosts are waiting for the right occasion to crack it open and enjoy the vintage-like a bunch of fiends. Grim won't be having any. Hell no.
Twilight has temporarily detached herself from your side and perches comfortably on Benji's shoulder. Her talons dig into his white spectral body, but he doesn't wince or show any sign that he's in any pain. She nibbles on his worn scarf to pass the time until you call her. Gizmo busies himself by helping you find all the secret spaces. He finds one and begins jumping over it more enthusiastically. When you pry the wooden slat up, you perk up as the familiar scent of old gunpowder fills your nose.
"There you are!" you practically sing when you lift the board and see your trusty gun. "And here I was thinking Benji lost you."
"I heard that!" he shouts, deeply offended.
"I know," you reply. "Glad to know that your hearing hasn't gone out yet. Had me worried for a while, gramps."
Johnny erupts in a symphony of loud laughter. While community and mutual respect were a value shared between Ramshackle residents, a bit of teasing and the occasional prank is always welcomed. It's a great way to keep morale up. It's also satisfying to say a remark that makes everyone laugh or have a prank go as planned. So long as no one got hurt, it's all fair game between you all.
You lift the heavy rifle out of the space and do a routine check. The internal magazine is empty and when you probe the back of the chamber with your pinky you don't feel a loaded round inside. You flip the safety on and off and pull the trigger a few times to make sure the mechanisms are working correctly. You also do a quick count of your ammunition. While guns do exist in this world, coming across bullets is much harder than it is in your world. This is mainly due to the reliance on magically sourced bullets that help reduce the use of resources. Their rarity makes them expensive, and the few blacksmiths who do make them usually don't sell to anyone unless they feel the buyer is a genuine enthusiast of their craft. The buyer also needs to have a license to own them, which you thankfully earned after a few safety lessons and a short exam.
Lucky for you, the one and only smith on the island who makes bullets was more than happy to provide you with some bullets at an affordable price after you allowed him to ogle your rifle for a few hours. It's an old model, supposedly used by your great grandfather after he was enlisted into the army. When the war ended and he was sent back home, he customized it so it can be used for hunting deers instead of people. Your first aunt Gia was always handling it. Whether she was taking it apart and putting it back together or out in the backyard doing some recreational target practice.
She always looked strong yet elegant carrying it around, not that she isn’t without it. During your first year living with her, you tried to imitate her, slinging some large stick you found out in the woods to try to exude the same energy she did. When your second aunt Lucia moved in with your cousins after her divorce, she was quick to reprimand you and confiscate any of the newly found branches you brought back home and waved around as an imaginary rifle. Your aunt Gia eventually began to teach you how to properly and safely handle her firearm. By the time your third aunt Marisol moved in after graduating from university, you were one hell of a sharpshooter and a damn good hunter.
With the rifle now deemed safe to take to Malleus, you sling it over your shoulder and make your way out of the room. You whistle the signal for Twilight to return to your side and she immediately heeds your command. Her obedience earns her a few more bits of bacon. Gizmo also wishes for some compensation for helping you locate your rifle. You make a quick trip to the kitchen and give him a few raisins to snack on. He's the only one who eats raisins in the dorm, so you don't skimp out on him.
Blossom does try to snag a few for himself, but a threatening screech from Twilight scares the gluttonous fawn away. That deer sure loves to eat.
"I'm back, again!" you announce as you reclose the back door behind you.
"Welcome back, again," Malleus regreets you. "And a good morning to you, Twilight."
Twilight also loves Malleus. She eagerly shifts her feet, desperately wanting to fly onto his arm and properly say hello. You let her transfer onto him once he slips on the safety glove you provide. After a few minutes of giving her loving neck scratches and trying to stop her from nipping at Malleus's ears (she likes them a lot and, now that you’re thinking about it, you do too), you take her back and help send her off into the air for some much needed soaring time.
"I see you brought your weapon," Malleus looks at your rifle with an examining eye.
"I did," you bring it around and into your arms. "Now, why did you want me to bring it again?"
"No reason in particular," he admits. "I just...I'm quite used to seeing you with it. You're never without it unless you're attending classes."
A proud smirk finds its way onto your face no matter how hard you try to hide it. "I'll take that as a compliment."
A potentially stupid idea pops up in your head. "Do you want me to teach you how it works?"
"Truly?" Malleus looks extremely shocked at your offer. "You dislike it greatly when another person touches it."
"I dislike it when people who don't know the first thing about gun safety touch my gun," you correct. "But count yourself lucky, because I know everything there is to know about this one right here!"
"Very well,” he gives a conceding nod. “Have at it."
This is the most excited you've ever been since waking up in the floating coffin all those months ago. While you aren't the biggest gun enthusiast out there (you only ever use it for hunting), you do like it when people show interest to learn about your hobbies. Ace and Deuce are teenagers, so it's no surprise that they don't exactly find the long and grueling labor that goes into gardening all that exciting. Your firearm is nothing more than a toy in their minds, though Deuce is a bit more serious than Ace is when it comes to safety.
Speaking of gun safety. "Now, I don't mean to nag but it's important to remember that, under no circumstances, are you to ever point a gun at anyone. Loaded or unloaded."
Malleus makes a face of confusion. "Then how come you pointed and shot at the Leech twins?"
"Hey," you put your hands up in defense. "I wasn't shooting at them. I shot at the ground and it just so happens that their feet were near my line of shot."
"Ah, I see," he chuckles at your convenient excuse. "So shooting near an individual is ok, so long as the bullet doesn't hit them."
"Exactly," you wink at him. "But seriously, don't point it at or near anyone. And don't look down the barrel. Lilia nearly gave me a heart attack when I caught him doing just that."
He closes his eyes and gives a deep nod like you just bestowed upon him a great piece of wisdom. "Duly noted."
"Next is the magazine," you turn and pull back the bolt handle to show him the empty magazine hidden underneath the bolt itself. "This is where you put the bullets. The magazine holds up to 4 bullets, 5 if you keep one loaded in the chamber. Since my gun is an older model, you can’t pop in an external magazine. Unless you're in a desperate situation, it's best to"
You look up to make sure Malleus is following along with your explanation. Maybe he is, but it's hard to tell when his eyes completely ignore the rifle you have set between the two of you and instead keeps his eyes focused solely on you. Your throat immediately dries up and you feel your heart begin to beat just a bit faster after it skips a beat. The look he's giving you is the same one he gave you at Scarabia, a content, and dazed smile. There's a hint of melancholy in his expression, evident by how the inner corners of his eyebrows turn upward.
He looks so at peace, yet so sad.
"What's wrong?" you ask, though you know full well what's making him feel that way he does.
He shakes his head in denial. The visual sadness goes away once he settles. "Nevermind me. Keep talking, please."
"R-Right," you stutter. "Where was I again?"
"You said your gun is an older model."
"Right," you remember. "Since the model is old, it's best not to reload too quickly, otherwise you risk jamming the gun and in some cases, you might break a mechanism."
You feel a faint vibration underneath your leg. Thinking it's your phone (now set back to vibration mode) you start to pat down your clothes to try and find the device. Surprisingly, it actually came from Malleus's phone. It keeps pulsing in fixed intervals, likely from someone calling him. He quickly pulls it out and clicks on the red reticle, sending the caller to voicemail without batting an eyelash. You couldn't see who was calling, but you swear their name started with an 'S'. Could it be Silver or Sebek calling? You hope it's not Sebek because once Malleus starts to manually decline his calls, the next person he usually rings up is-
You feel another vibration, this time it's coming from your phone that you apparently left in your back pocket. Lo and behold, it's Sebek that's calling you. You show your screen to Malleus, who makes a dramatically loud sigh of exhaustion. Sebek...While he's well-intentioned and has his charming points, he can be a bit of a handful...
Ok, that's too nice a way of putting it. Really, as passionate as he is, he can be a bit annoying to deal with sometimes. You're trying to be polite as you can be with him because you've been told that Faes offended easily and you're not going to be that asshole. Though, you’ll be the first to admit that he’s such an easy and fun target to joke around with. Blame the ghosts, their behavior is gradually rubbing off on you.
His protectiveness and the deep admiration he has towards Malleus is a little quirky, even cute at times. It reminded you of a child vehemently protecting their parent from their lover, not that you and Malleus are dating or anything.
Why did that last part feel weird to say in your head?
"Go ahead and answer," Malleus concedes. "I’m not entirely in the mood to listen to his shouting in the middle of the day."
"Oh, his heart would break if he heard you," you place a hand over your fake-pained heart. "You are such a cruel man, Great and Benevolent Malleus!"
The two of you erupt into a brief fit of laughter. After calming yourself down, you answer the phone. "Hello, you've reached the Ramshackle dormitory."
You have to turn away and cup your free hand around your mouth so the phone doesn't pick up Malleus's uncontrollable giggles.
"Human!” he shouts into the phone and you have to pull it back to alleviate your overwhelmed eardrum. “ If you would kindly put Lord Malleus on the phone, I would greatly appreciate it."
You look over to Malleus, but Sebek was loud enough that you don’t have to mouth anything to him. He gestures for you to hand the phone over to him, but you put your hand up to tell him to give you a moment.
"If you want to talk to Malleus, press two,” you blankly say. “Those are the rules."
"Human! I don’t have time for your terrible jokes!"
Malleus then gestures for you to hand over your phone. "Do as they say, Sebek," he calmly commands.
Your hands slap against your mouth to cover the loud and ugly screech you make when you hear the loud dial noise come right after.
The two talk for a while. It’s mainly Malleus listening to whatever Sebek is passionately rambling about while giving the occasional hum and idle acknowledgments. At one point during the call, he looks over to you and frowns. You mouth “what’s wrong?” but he shakes his head and looks away. Once he hangs up, he lets out a very stressful sigh and slumps a bit. He’s upset.
“Hey,” you move your rifle and scoot closer to him, giving him a gentle shoulder bump once you’re near. “Talk to me. What did Sebek say?”
“It’s nothing important,” he continues to dismiss. “Just a trivial matter.”
“ Malleus,” your voice becomes stern. “C’mon, talk to me.”
He tends to downplay his troubles since he thinks they pale in comparison to the many other aspects going on in his life (being royalty can’t be easy). When it was clear that you were more than just an acquaintance, Lilia gave you a bit of advice about Fae behavior so you can better communicate with Malleus and get him to open up to you. Faes cannot lie, but they can give half-truths, and, depending on how powerful one is, they can tell white lies. It took a bit of work, but eventually, you gained enough of Malleus' trust as well as reassured him that you won't up and abandon him for simply voicing his opinions or feelings, even if you might disagree with him.
“You first,” he says insistently.
Also by the advice\of Lilia, you have a bit of an ongoing exchange with Malleus. For every instance he bears his inner thoughts and feelings to you, you have to tell him something about yourself that others don’t know about.
Have all your facts been embarrassing admittances? Yes, they have.
“No offense, but aren’t Fae notorious for being a bit...y’know?”
“Mischievous?” Lilia snickers.
“Right,” you cross your arms in an attempt to provide yourself with a bit of comfort. Lilia’s casual demeanor surely isn’t helping you. “Telling Malleus all my innermost secrets is surely going to come back and bite me in the future.”
“Well, in most circumstances you wouldn’t be wrong.” Suddenly his playful voice becomes firm and actually assuring for once. “However, there is no need for concern. I can say with certainty that whatever you tell Malleus, no matter how embarrassing or incriminating it is, will forever remain with him and him alone.”
The old Fae pats you on the head, despite being taller than him. “He cares deeply about, truly.”
That fuzzy feeling in your chest returns. Your hands have an itch to fidget with something to try and distract yourself. It ends up being a strand of your hair that gets blown in your face after an especially chilly gust of wind dishevels it. That’s when a small bulb lights up in your head.
“I hate the winter,” you admit. “The long nights throw me off and I have terrible luck running into wild game when I head out into the field. Really, it's cold weather that I hate in general.”
“Interesting,” Malleus clearly takes in and files away this new fact he’s learned in his head. “This likely isn’t a surprise, but I enjoy this time of the year.”
“What's winter in the Valley of Thorns like?”
Malleus, shocked at hearing your sudden interest in his home, begins to paint as detailed a picture as he can about the kingdom during the colder seasons. Greenery is a bit sparse given the Valley’s more mountainous terrain, but he insists that the thorn bushes you can find in nearly every corner of the land are beautiful in their own right. No matter the season, there’s always some amount of fog that dilutes the rays of the sun, so a day without one is often seen as a sign of good fortune by the people. Modern machinery is all but nonexistent as well, so there are no buildings, pollution, or lights to obscure the starry sky at night.
“Now it just sounds like I’m back home,” you let out a sad reminiscent sigh.
“What about your home? What is it like?”
“About the same as yours, except we got plenty of sunlight and we had lush forests instead of rocky cliffs. There was a small town about half an hour out, but most of the businesses there have been around since the ’50s.” You notice his confusion as your terminology, but a brief explanation of your world’s calendar clears it up.
“It sounds charming,” he says. “I’d love to visit it one day, should the opportunity present itself.”
“There’s an ice cream shop down the main avenue,” you mention, knowing how much he enjoys the cold treat. “The owners even change their selections every other day, but the rainbow sherbet is the best one they have!”
“Is that so?” he chuckles at your enthusiasm.
A sharp screech cuts your conversation into an abrupt close. That was without a doubt a signal from Twilight, letting you know that someone is walking up the pathway to the dorm. You aren’t expecting anyone, and Frankie is likely just arriving in town by now. You remember how Malleus seemed dejected after his call with Sebek.
Just as you connect the dots, Malleus stands up, brushing off any dirt and debris from his clothes. “I apologize, but I must head out now.”
“Already?” you ask with playful sadness. The fuzz in your chest dissipates into a dull ache. Weird.
“I need to go over my guest list for my birthday once more. Lilia insisted I send out handwritten invitations to immerse myself into the festivities.”
“That sounds about right.” After standing up yourself and insisting you’ll walk him out, you ask, “So when can I expect my invitation to come in?”
“You want to come? Even after,” he immediately stops himself from speaking.
Does he really think he messed up that badly with you?
“I do want to go,” you firmly tell him. “Even after everything that’s happened.”
There’s a brief silence between you two before he says, “You don’t have to force yourself.”
“I’m not,” you reassure him.
“So you say.”
“Malleus,” you sigh. “If there’s anyone scared about our friendship dissolving because of what happened, it’s me. I’m the one that’s keeping you in suspense, even now.”
The truth hurts, but no amount of shared laughs and the occasional antics between the two of you is going to magically dissolve the damage present. You’ve hurt him, and in a way, it’s hurting you as well. Life isn’t as linear as it was, but sulking and bringing the people around you down is a terribly selfish thing to do, especially towards someone you care a great deal about. You weren’t raised like that. You were taught to appreciate the little things and watch out for those around you. Not for personal gain, but because it was simply a kind thing to do.
This feeling of insecurity came before the winter break. Being around so many people whose ideals and actions clash with yours often succeeds at making you think that you’re the one in wrong, that you’re the helpless and naive one. That’s far from the truth. The community you’ve built with the ghost trio and the natives on Sage’s Island is proof that your values are shared with others.
It’s just like Frankie said, life is just serving you a bad hand right now. You can prevail and return to the better days. The better days when you and Malleus were the best of friends. But why does your heart hurt when you think about his confession for the umpteenth time? What’s making you so hesitant? More importantly, why couldn’t you tell him “yes”, yet you also knew you couldn’t tell him “no”?
As you watch Malleus and Sebek depart from your front door, making their way down the steps towards the front gates, you hastily announce that you’ll be back and begin running towards them.
You need to make things right.
Malleus noticed the way your hands sought something out to fidget with when you were feeling...he doesn’t know what that was. You weren’t feeling uncomfortable as far as he could tell.
Were you perhaps...flustered?
No, that can’t be it. You don’t think of him that way, he’s sure of now. When he quickly reassesses his behavior, he didn’t do anything that would warrant you to become nervous, other than look at you with a far too amorous gaze while you explained the ins and outs of your firearm. He couldn't help himself. Seeing you so passionate and animated, even if it's over something he has no knowledge or a particular interest in, made his heart flutter as well as ache yet again.
They fidget with the nearest object when they feel uncomfortable. Remember that.
“What was that, Lord Malleus?”
Sebek’s booming voice catches him off guard a bit, but he quickly recovers as if nothing disturbed him at all. “It’s nothing, just thinking aloud.”
“I see. In any case,” he quickly changes the subject. “The materials needed to write and send the invitation letters are all ready. Sir Lilia insists that you write each one on your own, but I am more than capable and willing to offer my assistance should you need it!”
“That’s quite alright. There aren’t a great many I need to send anyways,” Malleus gracefully rejects Sebek’s eager offer.
There really aren’t that many people who will be attending, just the residents of Diasomnia and that’s it. He initially had plans to invite you, but he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. You’ve expressed your desire to come, but he can’t help but feel that it’s only out of pity.
He doesn’t want that from you. At this point, he just wants things to return to how they once were before he opened his mouth and began to spew a bunch of one-sided nonsense. He just wants your friendship, pure and untainted like before.
Perhaps he’s destined to never have a friend after all.
“Malleus!” your distant voice calls out to him, causing him to stop in his tracks and turn around to search for you.
He doesn’t understand how you do it, but just hearing you call his name utterly burns away all the muddled thoughts circulating within his head. He is exceptional when it comes to defensive magic, yet whatever spell you manage to cast on him that makes him so taken by you, it exceeds even his own magical prowess.
But you don’t have any magic. Not even a speck courses through your veins. You’re just an average human. His nearly crippling infatuation is entirely his own doing.
"Oh, thank goodness you haven't made it past the front gates yet," you heaved out. Did you run all the way here? Did he forget something? He quickly pats his front pocket and feels a hard lump, his phone. It’s the only personal item he brought.
"Human," Sebek's voice sounds annoyed at your sudden presence. "What do you need from- AH!"
Sebek's scream hurts Malleus's ear, but the slight and momentary ring means little when you've wrapped your arms over his shoulders and pull him into a tight embrace. He immediately melts into your arms, smothering his face against the crook of your neck and taking in your scent like a desperate man. Despite the sweat you and he worked up from hours of labor, you still smell so nice, like fresh cotton and assorted herbs. It's unique. It's comforting.
It's you.
"One week," you whisper in his ear. "Give me one week. I'll have an answer for you then."
He pulls back and looks at you like you’ve grown a second head. "Pardon?"
"I've hurt you, badly." you look down in shame. "I still am, but I'm going to make it up to you. I promise"
"A promise made with a Fae is a dangerous thing, especially when you don't uphold your end of the deal," he says with a warning tone. "One week. Are you sure that's enough time?"
"It is," you say with certainty.
You're not one to lie or bite off more than you can stomach. You know when you've been beaten, that's why you called for his help over the break. His interpretation of trust differs greatly from yours, and it's not given to many, Fae or not.
"Very well,” he yields. “I will trust you to keep to your oath.”
“Thank you,” you squeeze him closer against you. “And I’m so sorry.”
“It’s alright. Just please, don't break my heart any further," he whispers pleadingly into your ear.
Apologies are dangerous words to say to a Fae, even a bit demeaning to some. The same with words of thanks, which you often say to him regularly. Malleus has developed a habit of accepting them out of courtesy. It's an aspect of his culture that you struggle to adjust to since it's interpreted differently in human society. You've also told him something he finds humorous, how your aunts constantly enforced you (in your words “beat it into you”) to say "please", "thank you", and “sorry”, as they didn't want others to think they were living in a crude household. It's incredibly ironic considering you tend to swear every other sentence.
You explained that "Thank you"s are acknowledgments of the efforts one makes for another, no matter how small or grandiose the gesture is. Apologies are acknowledgments that one has wronged another and wishes to make amends.
It sounds like common sense, but he understands now what you mean when you tell him "It's the little things that matter most". His heart was hurt when you couldn’t tell him “yes” or even a simple “no”. He's still suffering from the aftermath of his confession, even as he signs off on the last of the invitations for his birthday party, his mind failing to commit to the enthusiastically written words. You've acknowledged that you see his pain and that you recognize that you're its source. Despite having other troubles of your own, you've made it clear that he's now been pushed up your long to-do list and that he's now your main priority.
It brings much-needed relief to his pained heart, though just a bit.
He waits until Sebek is gone before he rummages around his desk for a beige-colored envelope, the one he enchanted and gave to you so you can speak to him over the break (he preferred this method over text messages). It still has your SOS letter in it, written with your now aged and darkened blood.
Malleus. I'm sorry for the smell, but it's all I have on hand. I'm in Scarabia's dorm and they're not letting me leave. I've been here for a few days to help the vice dorm leader with some sort of internal affair, but I think he did something to me that's making it impossible to refuse him anymore. I tried to bail, but they caught me and now they're locking me up and keeping a close eye on me.
If I may be a bit bold, I'm fucking scared out of my mind. I know it's rude of me to make demands without proper compensation, but I think I need some help. I don't want to cause a big fuss, so if you can could you come alone? If you can't that's fine. I'm sure I can pull through until the break ends.
I hope you're doing well. Again, sorry for the smell.
He makes a few more creases in the paper due to gripping it so harshly. He remembers opening it the first time and nearly ripping it in half because of how utterly livid he was. Your fresh blood also didn't help at the time. You didn't state what your current condition was when you drafted the letter and his mind immediately thought of you being injured and that was the reason you wrote it in your blood.
The time between him sneaking past his castle's security once he received your letter to arriving on Sage's Island via his own magic (curse the dark mirror for being inactive during the winter) is a bit of a blur. All he can remember is that he was just so worried for you, a magicless human against an entire dorm of wizards in training. Even someone with subpar control over their magic can do you a great deal of damage.
If sneaking out of his home without telling a soul, potentially causing one of the largest search hunts to commence had someone noticed and reported to his grandmother, doesn't prove how much you mean to him, he doesn't know what will.
One week. If it takes you one more week for you to realize this, then he will wait.
He trusts you, just as you trusted him when you sent him that letter.
He grabs his quill and dips the tip into a jar of ink, writing something quick and straightforward on a spare piece of parchment.
"Please come to my party. It would mean the world to me."
After the ink dries, he folds it and places it in the envelope, sealing it with wax bearing the crest of his family. He needs not utter a single incantation to have it erupt in a blaze of green fire. He waits. One minute. Two. Suddenly, a spark of blue fire erupts on his desk before dissipating, leaving behind the same envelope he burned minus a wax seal.
He opens it.
"Of course I will!"

Henlo! Can I place an order for headcanons of Deuce, Trey, Idia, Jade and Jack having a friend or s/o who's extremely sensitive to noises, and gets overwhelmed when there's a lot of noises at one time or a sudden loud noise, often covering their ears with their hands and sometimes pulling their hair due to stress from said noises? I hope this isn't too overwhelming of an ask for you.
ლ Content: Deuce, Trey, Idia, Jade, and Jack: S/O with sensitive hearing
ლ Warnings: None!
ლ Comments: Ahh don’t worry this isn’t too overwhelming! I hope I wrote this right! (/_\)
The Lunchroom was always so loud
Deuce can admit it hurts his ears sometimes
He didn’t notice until recently that you pull your hair a lot when in the room
And once you get your food you immediately leave to the courtyard
Deuce is worried that he or the friend group did something wrong
So when you did it again he followed you with his lunch
He saw you sit on the bench under the apple tree
The sight of you sitting all alone would make him sad
“Hey (y/n) you wouldn’t mind if I ate lunch with you?”
He was a little blushy boy as he’s an awkward boy
You gave a slight nod as you watch him sit next to you
“Are you okay? When you left the lunchroom in a hurry and I thought maybe it’s something we did”
“What no! It’s just… I can’t handle loud noises it overwhelms me”
Then it clicked in Deuce’s head
Ohhhh (y/n) has sensitive hearing! That’s it
“OH I SEE NOW!”
You covered your ears from the sudden noise, Deuce immediately reacted and quickly gave you a soft apology
After learning this new information the whole friend group now eats outside in the peace and quiet so you wouldn’t be alone
Ace and Sebek may need to work on their volumes but they're trying.
For their friend of course
We know Riddle can be a little to loud for some when he’s angry
Trey was trying to calm down Riddle while the first years were screaming trying to run away.
You know how teenagers are especially boys they are loud sometimes
When Trey finally got Riddle to calm down he noticed that you weren’t in the room
This worried Trey and looked around the heartslabyul dorm to see if he can find you
The search took him outside and found you deep in the maze
You were covering your ears and sitting against a rose bush
Trey gave a sigh of relief as he found you sitting there
But worry rushed into him as he quickly rushed to your side
“(y/n)? (y/n)? Are you okay?”
You look up to see the gentle eyes of Trey
You removed your hands hearing the peaceful sounds of the garden.
Trey gave a soft smile and sat next to you as you where calming down
“What happened (y/n) why did you suddenly run off?”
“It was overwhelming and i couldn’t handle it”
“The noise?”
You nodded as Trey let and audible Ahhh as realization hit him.
Trey wrapped an arm around your shoulder and pulling you close to him
“I see now, if you ever start to feel uncomfortable or if it gets too overwhelming it’s okay for you to step outside the dorm. You shouldn’t feel guilty about it either, I honestly just want you to be comfortable”
He understands being overwhelmed with noises
But not with sensitive hearing, this one is new to him
You were laying on his bed chilling out scrolling through magicam, ya know the usuals when you two hangout
Idia decided to play a single player game and blast it’s soundtrack scaring you
You immediately covered your ears
He didn’t hear your pleas to turn it down and kept playing
It was to much for you so you just left the room
He saw the lights from the dorm seep into his room and realize you have left the room
You walked to the lounge spotting Ortho just coming back from running some errands
“Oh hello (y/n)! What are you doing out here?”
You explained to Ortho about Idia and how your hearing is sensitive
Ortho got a little mad about that, How could his Nii-san not know about that?
Ortho would immediately tell Idia the situation
And guilt would rush through him
He would walk to the lounge seeing you grabbing your hair trying to calm down
He walked over to where you sat
Very nice and sweet apologies would be given
It would be awkward but sweet
When he takes you back to his room he would turn down his games volume to a very reasonable volume for you
Normally he would like to have loud noises blasting through the room, but when your here headphones would work just as well.
Jade was serving drinks on a busy day in the mostro lounge
He saw you where tugging your hair with a nervous face
“Ah maybe (y/n) is just anxious”
It was getting pretty rowdy in the mostro lounge
Honestly louder than what Jade wants it to be, but what can he say he can’t say anything.
He was at the bar serving other people, when a quick glance saw you were trying to cover your ears
You try to hide you were but it wasn’t really working
Jade quickly sense this as something is wrong
“Would you like another drink (y/n)?”
You look up to see Jade giving a rare soft smile
A small smile krept on your face as you just give a simple nod
He knew you were lying
A quick convo with Azul and you were sitting on Jade’s bed with your favorite drink and snack on the desk next to you
“J-Jade why am I in your room?”
“I saw you were covering your ears, and I thought that the noise was too much for you. I would hate for a value customer of the mostro lounge to feel uncomfortable”
You sat there shooketh to the core as you realized Jade noticed how the noises were overwhelming you.
“Thank you Jade, this means a lot to me”
“Just text me if you ever need anything”
Sebek is loud, I think everyone knows that
You can hear him from a mile away
Jack can sometimes have sensitive hearing especially when someone is yelling a lot
He immediately something was wrong when you started to pull your hair
He asked if you were okay and it confirmed what he was thinking when you gave him a short nod
Sebek was yelling about how some people are so rude and disrespectful for being so scared of his great Malleus-sama
You were trying to be nice and respectful to your very loud friend but sometimes it's too much
Jack was staring at you seeing your reaction as the conversation goes on
Jack would place a hand on your shoulder
“Hey (y/n) I forgot something in the classroom, you want to come with me?”
You gave a quick nod bid your goodbyes and dipped out of the group
You notice you two were walking away from the school and into the woods
“Uhh Jack where are we going? The classrooms are over there” You pointed out
“I thought you might like some peace and quiet from Sebek’s yelling”
He was trying to act serious but his tail said something else
You thanked him for his effort to make you comfortable
Jack asked about your hair pulling and you told him why you do it
“Ahh I understand, Sebek can be really loud sometimes.”
“I know he doesn’t mean to be that loud all the time”
You two share smiles and enjoy the nice quiet noises of the forest
Would you like to order something? Look at our Tea shop rules first!

Hey, what do you think would be the ideal type for each dorm leader?
hello hello ! this is a question for me, as in what i personally think? ( ˘•̥ _•̥ ˘ ) if so, these are all just guesses based on what i know about them (i hope that’s okay)! i wasn’t sure if you’d like to read lengthy paragraphs on what i thought so i tried to condense condensed my ideas as much as i could into two parts (physical appearance and character), each with their own bulleted list ❀ܓ(。◠ ꇴ ◠。 ) i hope you enjoy!
📝to note: some parts may have more or less information depending on the dorm leader. this is because i don’t think they’d mind much if a specific thing varied compared to the others (e.g. hair length, height,etc.). also i kept some of my ramblings in because i couldn’t bring myself to take them away (some of which were written in my language but translated into english). i promise i tried to shorten these
riddle rosehearts
Physical Appearance
He’d prefer someone shorter than him, though he wouldn’t mind anyone taller so long as it’s not to the point that he’d have to strain his neck just to look at them
There’s a common trait in my country that I tend to hear whenever people gush about the people they like which is “malinis” (means “clean” or “neat” or “tidy” depending on how it’s used in a sentence). I’d like to think that Riddle would want someone like this; someone who doesn’t look sloppy and is refreshing to look at (hair is neatly combed or groomed and isn’t covering their face, skin looks bright and healthy, clothes are always fixed and smoothed, etc.)
Character
He would like someone patient and a bit more laid back compared to him (though not necessarily lazy),
who isn’t afraid of voicing out their opinions (in a nonaggressive manner plz thank),
and is cheery enough to the point that their happiness is contagious.
He wouldn’t like anyone who constantly tries to cling onto him like a koala but he’d also like it if they relied on him from time to time especially if it’s in things he’s good at (babey wants to be there for you too)
asshole ashengrotto
Physical Appearance
He’d probably like someone shorter than him so that he can look at them properly and easily tell what their feeling (especially whenever they’re flustered)
and ngl just so that he can look down on them.
I’d like to think that he’d like someone as stylish as him too, or at least tries to dress decently. No way he’s going to be with someone who doesn’t even try to look respectable even when it’s only on the outside.
Character
I think he’d like someone reserved, not just because they’re able to control and discipline themselves, but because he’d be more interested to find out more about them.
Someone with good composure and who wouldn’t make irrational decisions or jump to conclusions,
confident, especially if because they like to think through and consider things and prepare
independent, so that he wouldn’t have to constantly worry over them (and because he’d rather have someone as equally capable as he is).
He wouldn’t like anyone who is constantly trying to win the favour of others or follows the majority(?)
kalim al-asim (asim kilig)
Physical Appearance
Honestly speaking? I don’t think he’d have a preference in terms of physical appearance. I can’t really see him saying that he’d like someone who “looks like this” or “looks like that”?
I could argue though that he’d like someone “fluffy” (cute, small and soft like a kitten) because it’d be fun to be around them, hug them, tease them and take care of them.
Character
“fluffy”
Definitely someone he can be himself around or is similar to him.
Someone who’s bubbly and sociable like him,
“a big bright ball of energy”
Someone who can handle his carelessness and recklessness and is willing to be responsible enough to contrast it when needed
vil schoenheit
Physical Appearance
He wouldn’t care much if they were shorter or taller than him so long as they’re pleasant enough to look at.
Like Riddle, he’d like someone who takes great care of themselves or is at least conscious of how they present themselves to others.
They wouldn’t have to be anyone as pretty as him (because no one can be as pretty as him) or pretty at all, just someone who keeps their skin clear, hair neat, follows a good skin care routine and has a nice figure (that they care enough to maintain).
Character
We all know that he doesn’t like lazy people so I think he’d like someone who’s hard working and responsible,
preferably someone who isn’t easily unsettled by stressful situations because the last thing he needs in a cowering bunny that can’t stand up for themselves.
He wouldn’t mind anyone headstrong, so long as they can respect the way Vil is without him having to constantly tell them off since I don’t think he’d like anyone irritating him with such things.
leona kingscholar
Physical Appearance
He would like someone who is easily to look at; basically not tall enough to the point that he’d be craning his neck or short enough that he’d have to drop his chin into his chest just to see you.
Preferably someone with short hair, so that when the time comes that he decides to nap with them, their hair isn’t all over his face trying to suffocate him or constrict his body like an anaconda (I don’t know I wrote this at 1AM)
More of a personal opinion thing but I think he’d like someone with a refreshing smile.
Character
Essentially, someone who can mother him (kitty needs mothering) or is reliable.
He’d certainly want someone with a little bite; someone who can make a stand or stand their ground, especially if it’s with him. If all a person did was constantly agree with him, he’d get annoyed and have no fun at all.
idia shroud
Physical Appearance
As long as they’re not too overwhelming to look at, I think they’d be okay.
With that being said, I think he’d prefer someone shorter so their height doesn’t get to him too much.
He couldn’t care less if they were always in big baggy clothing, to be honest that type of fashion sense speaks to him.
If all else fails, he’d have to talk to them everyday through a screen to avoid getting too nervous around them.
Character
I think he’d like anyone who’s optimistic and supportive but not to the point that their light blinds him too much.
Just a person that doesn’t pry too much with his decisions and can stay the way they are without getting influenced too much by him.
He would like someone who has the same sense of humor or at least someone he can relate to in jokes.
malleus draconia
Physical Appearance
(Since he’s too tall for anyone to be taller than him) He’d want someone that he doesn’t have to struggle with talking to in terms of height.
I don’t think he’d like anyone who dresses sloppily, so he would want someone that looks respectable.
Character
Hehe someone INVITINGヽ(*´∀`)ノ゚
He would like someone who’s appealing to him. Similar to Azul, he’d want someone who he’ll want to know more about (though they don’t need to be reserved).
Someone with a strong sense of self and, in turn, can be someone he can be around with without having to pick up after them.

OKAY SO TODAY-
I’m going to ramble about chess symbolism - specifically with the Savanaclaw trio but also a couple of other characters (mostly pomefiore characters in detail but I list some others out aswell) I made the mistake of mentioning it on twitter and it got attention so now I’m posting it here because it’s way too long to post in a twitter thread.
It’s also going under readmore for that reason too:
For those unaware, the black and white on the chessboard have a meaning as well. Not so much ‘good’ and ‘evil’, though that’s one interpretation - White is normally associated with good and Black with evil. And that’s a valid conclusion! But another symbolism having to do with the board is the war between the inner and outer self. Between Ego and Values. Pretty much the chessboard can represent any kind of eternal struggle. A struggle that continues and doesn’t particularly have an ‘ending’ as chess is a game that can be played more than once, the struggle will always come back eventually.
Relating this to Night Raven in general- of course the struggle with overblot can be related to chess as well. Because it’s a constant struggle, one that most aren’t even aware of as there’s clearly ways to prevent it (resting, de-stressing, etc), but still a constant problem people of this world have to face.
Now moving onto the characters I want to speak about. Starting with Ruggie cause he’s my favorite.
Ruggie: The Bishop
The Bishop traditionally represents the church and religion, and in Medieval Europe the bishop was second in line to the king and queen. Now going back to how the chessboard could represent an internal struggle - the bishop can also represent a belief structure of some kind. The morals, the thought process. This is said to be why the bishop starts and stays on the same colored square (white for white and black for black), moving diagonally but never cross over another color. They move as far as they want, under the limits of their ‘belief’. They must rely on others to protect them or stay out of anything that could threaten them on the board.
NOW WILL SMITH ARMS TO ALL OF THAT ????
Ruggie doesn’t have ‘good’ morals. He only thinks about survival of the fittest, he believes that a strategy that you can win is worth it no matter the methods, he doesn’t pick fights he can’t win –
BUT his morals and methods align with Leona’s, who’s objectively the ‘king’ in this situation. He stands next to the ‘king’, (Like the bishop is next to the royalty on the chessboard) Leona, he moves according to his wishes but doesn’t sacrifice his own beliefs and methods in the process. He relies on Leona for protection and guidance, but will run away if he feels like he must (the chase scene with ace and deuce comes to mind. they didn’t have any proof but to keep himself safe 100% he left anyways).
Not to mention ‘second in line to the king and queen’ - Ruggie is the vice leader of Savanaclaw - Leona’s own little ‘kingdom’ as it were, so he already fills the role of second in command in canon.
He also could be considered an ‘overseer’. He watches over the dorm, does basic chores and errands for Leona, is someone leona trusts to carry out certain jobs - not to mention a good spy in general.
I suppose one could argue that Ruggie is a pawn aswell. Besides the obvious ‘oh he’s considered a pawn to leona lol’, people forget that the pawn is the only piece who can turn into a Queen - aka the most powerful piece on the board. And Ruggie had that quote during the commercials that ‘even a hyena can become king at this school’. But that’s just it - he specifically says King. The Bishop is second in line to the throne behind the king / queen. So, if anything happened to Leona then he would be the dorm leader / the king. I just feel as if Ruggie doesn’t fit the Queen symbolism at all.
Not that I doubt Ruggie’s abilities or anything. His powerful will to survive above all else, his magical ability, and his sly nature definitely make him a powerful force - but I still don’t think it fits.
I also like the idea of Ruggie being a kind of ‘adviser’ to Leona. Hear me out. In Leona’s SSR he’s the one to stop Leona from going all out during the fight against his own dorm leaders, he offers legitimate advice to Leona at some parts of the main story and the SSR, and is able to sway his decisions and offer legitimate solutions to problems (for example, convincing Leona to let the MC and Grim stay at the dorm during Episode 3 - it wasn’t a solution they liked but it was still one they could all agree on).
Ruggie to me just embodies the bishop so perfectly.
Leona: The King
OBVIOUSLY so I still want to go into this even tho the King is probably the most obvious choice for Leona.
Going back to the chessboard as a whole- the white king is meant to represent a person’s being while the black king can represent the ‘beast’ within us all. The beast is said to represent the intelligence hidden inside of all of us. Now willsmith arms to Leona. This guy is smart, it’s almost scary. Scar was practically considered a tactician and Leona is the same. He comes off as lazy and uncaring but he has a deep understanding of how things work and uses the smallest of details to work things to his advantage. 90% of the time, Leona is the smartest guy in the room - but you wouldn’t think he is at first.
Now, the king is often referred to as the weakest piece- if only for the poor movement of it being that of a pawn (and even then the pawn can move two spaces on its first turn - giving it advantage over the king in that sense). But it’s also the most important piece. The one that the entire game is fought for. The king can make or break the game - but it barely moves.
Even a real king isn’t seen much by their subjects. They stay stay and wait for something to become important enough for them to leave their kingdom - and until then a king relies on those around him (in this case, the other pieces on the board) to fulfill his orders. He’s far too important and that’s why he barely moves from the back row on the chessboard.
If you think about it - Leona doesn’t do much for his own plan in chapter 2. He relies on the magift team (mostly Ruggie) to execute the plan. The only time he really had a hand in what was going on was during the dorm leader meeting when he convinced the headmaster to keep Malleus on the field because it was essential to the plan with Ruggie causing the stampede- Malleus needed to be there to get caught up in it all. But that was something only he could have done, no one else could have filled that role for him. So again - the King doesn’t step out of the back row unless absolutely necessary.
Before anyone argues about Leona’s SSR and him stepping in then - I’ll take more of that into account during Jack’s section. But keep in mind he also mostly did that to have Jack indebted to him so my point still stands that the king doesn’t move unless he needs to.
And no, despite his power level I don’t believe he’s ‘queen’ material. If only because he holds himself back so much (with his laziness, lack of ambition, etc). It’s his lack of drive but also his reliance on others that has him leaning more towards the King rather than the Queen.
Jack: The Rook
Onto Jack - I struggled for a bit nailing down if he was the knight or the rook, if I am honest. His morals of fair fights and not owing people could definitely fall in line with a knight - but in the end I decided to go with Rook. For a number of reasons.
In Leona’s SSR story, he specifically calls Jack a ‘pup who charges ahead without thinking’ - similar to how a Rook can only move forward or to the side. It can go until something stops it - much like Jack was willing to keep fighting in the SSR story until Leona physically stopped him and stepped in himself.
Now the rook is also called the tower or the castle - and it traditionally represents the castle walls - the things that protect royalty and others. The rook is supposed to protect those on the inside of the board (as it is placed on both edges of the board) and protect those instead. The rook could also represent observation - watching the whole board and taking the best course of action to protect those it can. There are two kinds of observation, if we relate it back to the chessboard representing the inside and outside self. These are self reflection, orientated towards the interior / when the rook moves further into the board or side ways, and then moving forward as a kind of outward observation. Now Leona SPECIFICALLY mentions that Jack seems like he’s good at self reflection - that’s what really had me start thinking of Jack as the rook.
Jack is reckless and stands up for what he believes in no matter what, but also knows when he can’t handle a situation. He is good at observing a situation and making an honest call - even if it makes him sound blunt and rude. He knows exactly what he’s capable of, likely after a lot of his own self reflection, and is able to observe other’s skills in a similar fashion (as he calls out his seniors during leona’s ssr as being lesser magift players, clearly stating he’s superior than them when it comes to the game).
The rook is also the only one who can preform a move with the king called ‘castling’ - meaning the rook can switch places with the king in order to help the king move further away from danger or just to get more space into a move. This is also a type of observation where the rook is moving inwards and switching places with the overall being, the ultimate self reflection and cooperation with oneself.
^^^ THIS is the part I mentioned in Leona’s section. The king and rook are the only pieces that can preform the castling move. This is EXACTLY what happened in Leona’s SSR. He switched places with Jack. While in chess this is normally done to move the king out of danger - this is an exception considering Leona is....Leona. But I can see this as a way for their relationship to grow over the course of the story. Jack still obviously has an admiration for Leona even after the events of Chapter 2. And Jack definitely has the means to help Leona when it comes to fights, and in other capacities, so he is becoming very much a ‘castle’ around savanaclaw. Someone who can be trusted to observe, to protect, to fight.
He’s quick to protect others - as he is protective of ruggie during the main story and even his own SSR. He struggles a lot trying to win Ruggie and Leona over during his personal SSR and goes through ALOT of trouble to help Ruggie stay out of trouble with Leona. He didn’t have to do this, but he saw it as beneficial to the greater good, to help one of high standing, to protect him from a possible rage from their ‘king’.
Now for some reason i really thought into pomefiore too so here’s there analysis-
Rook: The knight
I definitely didn’t want to fall into the trap of thinking he was the rook just because of his name. But thinking on it, he definitely fits a knight - at least from what we know of him so far.
For overall Knight symbolism: The knight represents the professional soldier of medieval times whose job it was to protect persons of rank, and there are two of them per each side in a game of chess. Knights in a game of chess are more important than pawns, but less important than bishops, kings, or queens. Their purpose in the game of chess is to protect the more important pieces, and they can be sacrificed to save those pieces just as pawns can.
The Knight might not be the most powerful or most willing to follow his leader around, but its skillset makes it unique. Their eccentricities allow them to succeed, often passing over much more talented Bishops.
The knight can also represent Divine Law, which everyone has to take in account for their actions.
NOW WILL SMITH ARMS TO ROOK HIMSELF.
I can definitely see him as being a knightly figure not just because of how he acts on his own but how he acts with Vil specifically. He’s not an adviser of any kind like Ruggie, Vil even states in Jade’s SSR that Rook could be a better Vice Leader. But he’s also not like Jack and rushes ahead without thinking. out of the three pieces in the back row that aren’t the royalty, he fits the knight the best.
Not to mention I feel like the ‘protect the more important pieces’ fits Rook aswell as he proves to be very loyal to Vil and very proud of being a pomefiore dorm member - he would do anything for this dorm.
The knights of society are also people who are only really good at one thing - and Rook has a specialty for hunting. Even to the point of kind of being stalkerish, as seen in his Lab Coat SR and Jade’s PE uniform R. Also “ Their eccentricities allow them to succeed, often passing over much more talented Bishops. “ Him getting the jump on Ruggie a lot of the time would like literally translate to this and I didn’t mean for that to happen but it did.
When it comes to ‘divine law’ I’m just kind of connecting that to Rook being a hunter aswell. He knows the boundaries / laws of hunting and while he sometimes pushes those boundaries (like with Malleus and insulting him during Rooks PE uniform story) he doesn’t cross them because he knows the chain of command / circle of life if you will - laugh track -
With the above point, the knight’s overall moveset is fitting to Rook as well. The knight moves in an L shaped patter and is able to easily skip over lines of defense / offense to get where it needs to go. The knight is the ONLY PIECE that can actually jump over other pieces.
Rook is good at figuring out strategies, getting around rules and just barely touching the lines of being too invasive. Rook is a hunter, clever and patient, and with a knight’s moveset he can go back and forth between enemy lines and not - planning an angle and slipping in when he sees an opportunity.
Vil: The Queen
AGAIN ANOTHER OBVIOUS ONE- and this one will be kind of short as we don’t know a lot on Vil just yet (or at least I don’t, I haven’t read much of his card stories).
Vil obviously has status and power. The way he’s able to get the monstro lounge tons of customers without even knowing it - all by posting one picture with a hashtag? He becomes ambassadors for certain fashion brands, he keeps up with being a dorm leader, and giving practically his entire dorm etiquette lessons? Like shit this dude never slows down.
The Queens of society are often the closest to being in command, and arguably work the hardest. Considering Pomefiore was specifically advertised as a dorm that’s very foundation is ‘hard work’, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Vil is the queen in this situation.
and cracks knuckles theory time - if Vil overblots it’s gonna be BAD cause i mean - what happens when you lose your queen in a chess match?? You lose the most powerful piece on the board and a lot of your other pieces are sitting ducks. So yeah Vil overblotting is gonna be TERRIFYING that’s all I can say.
Epel: The pawn
Another small blurb but I just wanna say that being the pawn isnt a bad thing!!
The pawn can represent a few different things - from everyday workers and laborers to simply how we are everyday - our attitudes and how we present ourselves. Both of these things are present within Epel, him coming from the countryside and mentioning farming and not to mention that he puts on a bit of a mask infront of everyone else.
The pawn has the ability to become another piece on the board and I think that there’s that kind of potential for Epel too. He is struggling a bit with self image (which could be represented by the board itself as well - inner and outer self), but I think he has room to grow and I’m honestly pretty excited to see what the pomefiore chapter does with his character tbh.
OKAY I’LL STOP WITH THE EXPLANATIONS THERE BUT HERE’S A LIST OF WHAT CHARACTERS FROM OTHER DORMS I THINK FIT WHAT PIECE AND IF SOMEONE WANTS ME TO GO INTO DETAIL ON THEM I CAN LATER-
Heartslabyul:
Riddle: Queen / King kind of a toss up Trey: Bishop Cater: Knight Deuce: Rook Ace: Pawn
Ocatvinelle:
Azul: King Jade: Knight or Bishop Floyd: Rook
Scarabia:
Kalim: King Jamil: Knight
Ignihyde:
Idia: King Ortho: Pawn
Diasomnia:
Mal: Queen / King toss up again Lilia: Leaning towards Knight Silver: Pawn or Knight Sebek: Rook

Hi hi I simply love The senerio with Leona in it lions Chase it was cute may I request one with Malleus please ^^
Here you go! I took some liberties with the reader’s personality, so they won’t exactly fit everyone, but I hope it’s an enjoyable read!
Malleus Draconia with a crush on a reader who sees him as an older brother figure:
You noticed the lingering gaze of a Diasomnia student as you strolled towards the dorm. Most students were hesitant to approach the powerful dorm leader, and frankly, at first, your relationship was nowhere near as close as it was now. It was only a combination of ignorance and bravery, and perhaps a little stupidity or poor risk management, that the two of you had such a close relationship.
When you first met, you hadn’t been so oblivious to not notice Malleus’ powerful aura, but given the distinctive student body, he was only one of many surprises. Lilia seemed more approachable at first glance, but there was something more foreboding beneath the surface. Octavinelle students always seemed to say the right words but you couldn’t seem to shake a sinister feeling when you were around them. To be blunt, you weren’t even sure if the Heartslabyul dorm leader was sane. Malleus had potent strength but did not seem to have any outright hatred or madness.
Admittedly, the first time you had asked Malleus to join you was an impulsive decision slightly spurred by panic. After seeing Sebek getting electrocuted for forgetting to invite Malleus, you sputtered out an offer without much thought.
“Oh! Um, would you like to come too?” You figured Malleus would decline, but you’d be spared any suffering since you went through the formality of inviting him. At worst, Malleus would chide you for encroaching on his busy schedule. At any rate, nothing could top receiving a flaming ball of fire to the face, so you took your chances.
To your utter surprise, Malleus actually said yes. Your jaw nearly hung open from shock until you remembered that etiquette and basic social interactions deemed that you should respond. And that is how you found yourself walking through the Diasomnia gardens with Malleus after your very first conversation. The memory brings a smile to your face now, but at the time you were pretty nervous.
Currently, you were heading towards the Diasomnia dorm to have tea with Malleus. With your favourite snacks in hand, you walked with a bounce in your step. When you opened the door, you spotted Malleus reading over some papers. He looked like the picture of an ideal responsible student, which off-put some but made him more endearing to you.
In lieu of a greeting, you placed a plate of the treats you had brought for him to eat. His attention shifted to you as he put away the papers in favour of trying the snack. You began to pour tea for the both of you.
“You’re like the ideal big brother to me,” you commented nonchalantly while taking a seat. You were always rather impressed by his skills, safely surpassing yours, but it was the time he set aside for you that warmed your heart.
“A big brother?” Malleus repeated with a tone of disdain.
“Yeah? You know, like, an older sibling that’s a guy,” you fumbled with your words as his reaction filled you with uncertainty. Did fae not have siblings? Did he think you had insulted him? You continued in hopes of fixing this mess, “Siblings have the same parents or at least one parent in common, and, uh, well they’re usually pretty close and they …”
The words died in your throat as Malleus’ icy gaze pierced straight through you. You were on the verge of suppressing a shiver. Sometimes Malleus didn’t quite understand your behaviour or some random human convention, but this was different.
“I am not human,” he asserted, “Nor do we share any blood.” You chose your next words carefully. Suddenly you had landed in bumpy waters with a tempestuous storm brewing.
Choose to:
A) Clarify what you meant
B) Drop the topic
A) Clarify what you meant
“It’s just,” you inhaled deeply and summoned all the courage you could, “I didn’t mean it literally. The point is to illustrate how close we are. More than casual friends.”
There’s a beat of silence. You’re doing your best to bravely face the situation but a part of you wants the floor to swallow you whole. Were you wrong? No, you couldn’t be. Malleus wouldn’t spend all this time with you if he didn’t care at least a little. Right?
“But still platonic?” he inquired, and there was an edge to his tone that told you he still wasn’t pleased.
“Generally, yes,” you paused as you felt a change in the air, magic threatening to spark, then hastily added, “But! I mean, feelings aren’t linear. They, they’re evolving and changing. So, in the future, who knows?” You closed your eyes and tried to collect yourself. How had the situation turned so awkward and precarious so quickly?
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything bad by it,” you say to the teacup, but you know Malleus hasn’t moved. You practically felt his glare as all your emotions spilled from your lips, “Even if it’s a bit presumptuous, I …”
You can’t do it. What were you even trying to say? No, you knew, but now you were second-guessing everything. Honestly, at this point, you felt like a complete mess. Maybe you should have just waited until you weren’t a bundle of nerves.
“You what?” He phrased it as a question, but his voice indicated it was a demand.
“I … Well, I care about you,” you squeaked, face set aflame. You didn’t think your face could get any hotter even if Malleus did decide to set you on fire. This whole thing probably looked so dumb to the fae. You were never going to bring up siblings again.
“Humans are quick to make declarations of love and care,” he remarked but you felt some of the tension lift as his tone mellowed out.
“Yes, I suppose so,” you agreed, careful not to break the fragile peace. Malleus sipped his tea while his eyes bore into your soul. You weren’t sure if it was a signal to continue, so you added, “Though being in love and loving someone are not the same, they are both forms of love.”
“And? What would you categorize your confession as?” he asked casually as if he hadn’t requested for you to bare your heart to him. You gulped, hesitant given you had just narrowly avoided a disaster.
“I don’t know, love is a strong and confusing feeling,” you murmured while choosing to avert your gaze to the teacup before you. Maybe if you stared at the tea long enough, it would reveal the right thing to say.
“I look forward to your conclusion.” Expectant green eyes met your wide ones. This felt like some god awful trick. He continued, “Though I suppose you, who is so similar to a fumbling child, will take some time to decide.”
You gritted your teeth and silently nodded. It felt like some devious trick question with no right answer. What was Malleus expecting? Were you suppose to confess you were madly in love with him like some protagonist out of a fairy tale? Did he expect some reverent answer about his status and how you’d never dream of dating a powerful descendant of the king? Perhaps spout something brutally honest like Silver? Something cunning like Lilia? Dutiful to a fault like Sebek?
You had no clue as dread settled in your heart. Though his current unbristled appearance gave no hint, you knew this was serious. You had no idea your relationship with Malleus was so tumultuous and unstable until now. A simple misstep had landed you in so much trouble, you can still feel waves of his magic linger. You’d always known Malleus was powerful, both in magic and his position, but this was the first time it’d been a threat to you.
The discussion was about types of love, but it was fear that was welling up in your heart.
B) Drop the topic
“Sorry! It was a bad example, forget about it,” you replied, trying to keep any nervous ticks under control. The tension in the room told you Malleus had forgotten nothing. You made feeble attempts of bringing up other topics but all responses were lacklustre. Soon enough, the tea was cool and you excused yourself with Malleus making no actions to stop you.
Your subsequent interactions felt off. Naturally, Malleus was busy with both his studies and duties as dorm leader, but every conversation seemed laced with an unpleasantness you weren’t sure how to handle. A slight contempt that had never been directed to you before.
The ground beneath you no longer felt steady and each step was filled with trepidation. You tossed and turned at night, unsure what to do and why everything had ended up like this. You swayed between worry and annoyance. Wasn’t he being petty? Or were you inconsiderate? You had missed something but your eyes couldn’t find the unknown piece.
You hesitated to act, but one day Lilia had approached you with a smile baring too many teeth and left you with an ominous warning.
“Be careful,” he whispered with eyes that lit up in amusement as panic wormed its way into your soul.
One day, while passing papers a teacher had asked you to deliver to Malleus, you cautiously asked, “I haven’t done anything to make you angry, right?”
“Of course I’m not angry. I’m not,” he insisted.
Oh no.
No no no no no.
No!
Dismay practically flowed through your veins as the sentence left his mouth. He was definitely upset and you had no clue how to fix this.
Was your relationship with Malleus always this fragile? Everyone was always wondering how you’d manage to befriend the dorm leader, but now you knew it wasn’t befriending him that was hard, it was maintaining this relationship. Part of you was upset, you had come to care about Malleus a great deal, but frustration bubbled up too. Why couldn’t he just tell you why he was mad? For all the comments about how you were like a baby or a child, he provided no guidance or clues.
This felt like a losing game and you weren’t sure you wanted to play anymore.

Major Spoilers ahead!
My five theories as to what might happen in Chapter 7 concerning Malleus and his spell.
So, I’ve been thinking of this line Malleus said during his overblot.
“All of you—become the heroes of this fairy tale”
It makes me think of a new theory. Considering that afterwards we go back to the logo with a ripples in the water(?) and it’s basically a restart or fade to black of sorts.
This makes me think of a few possibilities. Shoutout to @killersweetie who’s discussing this with me at this very moment.
The characters who overblotted have dreams where they are the heroes.
After the overblot of the recent characters they admit that what they did was wrong, or that it wasn’t the correct way to handle the situation. What if Malleus, in his overblot form, gave them a dream where their goal during overblot came true. For example, Vil successfully kills/poisons Neige and he wins the VDC. He has a life without being hindered by Neige.
2. Malleus is like the Matrix
It takes quite a lot of work to sustain a human body for a long period of unconsciousness. You have to make sure they get nutrients, you have to make sure they get water. Nevermind the fact that no matter how powerful you are, the overblot will eventually get to you. So, maybe it’s more like a symbiotic relationship with Malleus and the dreams he’s giving us. In exchange for Malleus giving(more like forcefully putting us in a dream state) dreams he takes our energy( I don’t think he would take magic considering the situation with Lilia) to keep himself running and gives us more dreams along with the proper nutrients and care for a human or humanoid body.
3. Malleus’s dreams are what HE thinks everyone wants
Considering that Malleus hasn’t known everyone as friends for a long time (I think Yuu might be the exception to this one) with the exception of Silver, Lilia, and Sebek, he doesn’t really know what everyone would want for a peaceful eternal dream. He could be giving everyone dreams that he thinks he wants.
For example, he might give us, Yuu, a dream where we’re friends with him forever and we live in Briar Valley with him. When we might realistically want a dream of us in our actual world with our family.
4. Malleus can control what dreams he gives us and who enters them
This theory assumes that Malleus isn’t letting our consciousness determine what dreams we have under his spell. I’ll just use this situation as a hypothetical, but suppose Malleus gives everyone one big dream that mimics real life. In the dream world, nothing has changed, it’s just like real life. Now Malleus might occasionally put himself in the dream just to see how things are going and if everyone is happy, but he didn’t count in the factor of a certain rodent named Mickey Mouse.
Considering that Mickey can see us during dreams and vice versa, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mickey tried to visit or talk to us, thinking we were asleep, only to get his presence noticed by Malleus. If mickey does appear in the dream, he may be visible to everyone now that everyone is dreaming. But back to Malleus! Malleus might notice Mickey’s foreign presence in his little dream domain and try to get him out so he won’t disturb or break anything in it.
5. Outside help would be needed to help defeat Malleus.
Assuming this takes place after Glorious Masquerade, Idia may have an advantage. He knows a weakness of Malleus’s. The Crimson Flower was able to weaken and eventually significantly weaken Malleus after long periods of exposure. This is probably the most craziest theory, but maybe Idia somehow escapes the isle of calls for help and gets Rollo to help free the island. Rollo’s city is where the Crimson Flower grows, and he could bring it so that Idia could figure out something to weaken Malleus and eventually defeat his overblot form.

Christmas Special - Trey Clover
@choconanime
It's another chilly morning. Trey was finishing up the last of the work Riddle had for him before Christmas. He knew Riddle did the same with the other three, so the quicker he can finish, the quicker he can spend the break with Choco.
He leans back in his seat, taking a deep breath. The slight chill in the air made him stop. He takes a peek at the window to see its closed. He nods to himself before adjusting his glasses and goes back to work.
The scribbling on his pen was the only noise in his room. He shuffles the papers slightly, looking at each document as he keeps on writing. Everything was going well until he notices his room slowly started to get colder.
He takes a deep breath only to see his breath. He blinks for a few times, wondering if it was his imagination. He shakes his head, trying to focus on the task at hand. He looks back at the document only to see his hand starting to shake. He drops the pen in hand and pulls it close to his mouth, blowing some warm air.
He thinks about for a second, wondering if he forgot to set his heater up. He slowly gets up, walking to the radiator. No heat. A worried expression comes across his face as he checks to make sure it was alright. Everything was fine. It was all set. It should have come on, but it didn't.
"The hell?" Trey curses under his breath as he gets up. He couldn't work in this environment.
Trey kicks the radiator hoping it would come on, but alas, it didn't. He walks over to his wardrobe and takes out his coat, covering himself. He looks at the rest of his winter clothing, wondering if he'd need it. It was only a short walk to Riddle's office.
Right as he opened his door, a gust of wind hits him. He pulls his coat close. From that moment, he knew it wasn't his room. It was colder out in the hall. He wanted to shut his door and stay in, but he shakes his head before grabbing his scarf, wrapping around himself before walking out, closing his door behind.
He notices a few other students all buddled up in their winter clothes. He nods to himself as he speeds to Riddle's office. A sudden warmth hits him as he opens the door, and a shout comes from Riddle's desk.
"Close the damn door!" Trey immediately closes it quickly as he enters. He pulls off his coat, relieved to be in a warm room.
"Riddle, It's cold everywhere. What's going on?" Trey gazes towards Riddle. He was irritated, and Trey didn't know why. "How is it warm in here?"
He glances over the fireplace to see it. Seeing how it glows, he knew that someone placed magic on it. It was most likely Cater. He was the one who excels at fire spells out of them all.
"Cater?" Riddle nods, leaning in his seat.
"The heaters down. Headmaster Crowley called for the lead of each dorm this morning to explain the situation." Riddle spoke.
"I'm the vice I should have gone with you," Trey spoke, looking at him.
"You had work to finish. So I brought Cater along instead. It's a good thing because he would have called Cater in any way." Riddle sighs, looking at the fire.
"Cater is going around using his magic, isn't he?" Trey could tell from the look Riddle had that Cater was. "It's gonna drain his powers, Riddle."
"Anyone who has high power in fire magic is helping out the school. Only third years are allowed." Riddle spoke.
"That narrows it down to select few," Trey informs.
"It does, the people who volunteer are going around to other dorms or places to put fires in their fireplaces. Cater did ours first when we came back before he left." Riddle runs a hand through his hair.
"You know he'll push himself."
"I know. I told Malleus to check on him on his route." Riddle looks at Trey, who nods. "You can finish those documents later. Right now, we need to survive the next few days without freezing."
"Right. I should go check on Choco." Trey says, looking at the time. "She must be freezing."
"I saw her by the fireplace in our main common area. She was all bundled up with a blanket." Riddle spoke, taking a sip of his drink. "Now, I'm expecting company pretty soon so you can leave."
"Let's hope Crowley fixes this mess soon," Trey mumbles as he grabs his coat and puts it on.
"You and me both," Riddle mumbles under his breath. "I hate the cold."
Trey lets a chuckle out before he walks out the door, bracing the cold once more. A shiver goes down his spine, making him stop and close his eyes. He takes a deep breath. He focuses on his breathing before he opens his eyes and continues to walk to the main room.
Not many students were around in the dorm. Most of them must have left the dorm to see their friends and get warmth at one of the open areas.
Trey gets to the main room spotting Ace and Choco on the couch. He nods to himself as he walks over.
"Speak of the devil." Ace locks eyes with Trey. He wasn't sure what he meant by that, and Choco looks over.
"Trey!" Choco grins, standing up and rushes over to Trey, hugging him. He chuckles, hugging her back. He wanted to keep her in his arms, but he could tell that she was cold.
"Let's get you by the fire." Trey turns her around and pushes her back towards the couch.
"Why does it have to be so cold today!" Choco whines. She falls back on the couch, pulling her legs to her chest and covers herself with the blanket.
Trey sits down right next to her, and she moves closer to Trey, hoping he would help warm her up. Ace watches and shakes his head. Trey looks at Ace, who was sitting in his regular clothes.
"Aren't you cold, Ace?" Trey asks. Ace glances up at him and shrugs.
"A little spell to warm me up," Ace spoke, smiling.
"He won't tell me the spell, Trey. I want it!" Choco whines pouting.
"You shouldn't be using your magic like that," Trey says. "You are in your first year."
"It's only a little magic on my clothes. It'll last for a few hours." Ace speaks.
"You found that book in Riddle's office, didn't you?" Trey raises his eyebrow.
"He willingly handed it over. Told me not to tell anyone else." Ace gives a wink towards Choco, who huffs and looks at Trey.
"Do you know the spell? I wanna use it to help warm me up." Choco frowns. Trey shakes his head, not looking over. If he did, he would cave.
"You can't, dear. Riddle wouldn't like it." Trey speaks.
"Hot chocolate all around." Deuce's voice echos in the room, making them look over.
"Finally!" Choco says, starting to reach for hers.
"Calm down," Deuce speaks, handing over a cup to her.
Choco wraps her hands around the cup, feeling the warmth. She lets a grin out and blows on the drink before taking a small sip. A smile forms and looks at Trey.
Trey nods towards Deuce when he hands him a cup, and he gladly takes it. The warmth relaxes him slightly and smells the hot chocolate.
Choco starts to hear Trey softly speak. She turns her gaze to him to see him focusing only to tilt her head in confusion. She was about to say something until Deuce cuts her off.
"Let him be." Deuce watches Trey for a second before nodding to himself.
"Why? What is he doing?" Choco asks, looking back at him.
"Magic," Ace speaks, chuckling. "And he told me not to use my magic." Ace mumbles.
"He is a third-year. He can handle it." Deuce says, drinking his hot chocolate.
Choco whines, still shivering before taking another drink. She goes to lean her head on Trey's shoulder only to feel his arms pull her on his lap. She got surprised, looking at Trey and goes to get off.
"T-Trey p-people are here." She squeals and goes to get up, only to have Trey's arms tighten around her waist.
"I'm trying to warm you up," Trey spoke, resting his head on her shoulder.
Choco opens her mouth but stops. She feels the warmth on her back. She turns her head to Trey, who smiles at her.
"I told you." Trey chuckles and kisses her cheek. She blushes and turns away only to see Ace and Deuce watching.
"You're so lucky to have someone to do that." Ace whines and looks at Deuce. "Deuce, heat your body so we can cuddle."
"Like hell, I won't!" Deuce shouts.
Choco chuckles as she repositions herself and cuddles more into Trey. She takes another drink and watches the two first-years fight. Having hot chocolate, someone to cuddle, and a little show made this a better day.
