Pastime: reading, practicing her stupid pennywhistle which she is so bad at and will always be bad at, and...? man i don't know. i haven't thought much about her hobbies. to be fair, she hasn't led a life that allows for a ton of downtime.

Food: she's not picky but she does have a weakness for fresh fruits and veggies. having grown up on a boat (her family sailed back and forth across the waking sea buying and selling goods), she's very used to eating fish and food that can be preserved for long periods. fresh produce is a rare treat.

Passed University: no. she was in kirkwall's circle for a year, but in the last year of its operation kirkwall's circle was probably not a place where a lot of formal education was happening

Gotten Tattoos: i think she's seen too many slaves tattooed against their will to really want one. she isn't totally against the idea, because obviously people who aren't slaves have tats too, but she would only do it if she had a REALLY good idea for one - otherwise her own private connotations just kind of put her off.

Gotten Piercings: even though the character creator won't let me do this i feel like she does have multiple ear piercings

Gotten Scars: she has some lichtenberg figures on her arms! in real life, these scars vanish completely within days, but in fantasy thedas land, i am making them permanent. she got them during the nessum job, where she had to draw on a lot of lightning magic (her specialty) to take out all the slavers.

Had a Broken Heart: yes. she used to date tarquin and she was sooo betrayed when he didn't back her up after the nessum incident. she called him a templar (derogatory) and then they didn't speak to each other for a year.

Been in Love: tarquin was actually probably her most serious relationship so far. rip queen but it was for the best. you get to date the demon of vyrantium and he gets to run around with the fucking pope

Are They…

A cuddler: yes. she's very tactile in general. she has to try so hard to remember to check herself around lucanis "no touchy" dellamorte.

Scared easily: no. i feel like this is true of most rooks but she's quite brave, even when that borders on being stupid. she would stand nose-to-nose with a dragon and talk shit about its mother if she was mad enough. maybe it would do her some good to be scared more easily. that said, you get a templar to Silence her one time and she would probably have a mental health episode

Jealous easily: this is hard to answer. i think she's a bit prone to insecurity as far as a romantic partner or potential romantic partner preferring her over other people, but that's not quiiite the same thing as jealousy, especially since it's the sort of thing you couldn't waterboard out of her. she wouldn't be snooping through somebody's phone or forbidding them from going out with friends or anything like that.

Trustworthy: mostly. if she makes a promise she usually intends to keep it, and she only lies to enemies/people she doesn't like. that said, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and she does canonically tell the first warden the property damage was just because she felt like it.

Family

Siblings: zero. she was an accident, herself; her parents never intended to have kids.

Parents: liberati. they used to belong to danarius; her mom was some sort of bodyguard or security person (she fought with a staff, which is how rook knows how to fight with her own mage staff), and her dad did something more domestic, cooking or cleaning. you know, bc feminism. hira's family from absolution helped them escape before danarius found out rook's mom had given birth already (and they paid for it...), and they settled in the free marches where they got their hands on a boat and lived as merchants on the waking sea.

Children: rook's always wanted to be a mother, but obviously, she can't give birth to her own kids...biological kids are still not out of the question if she was with a partner who could give birth, but since she winds up with lucanis (who i think does not want children unless he's 110% sure he's Broken Some Cycles), they would have to adopt or figure out some surrogacy sitch. i think it's probably the only big relationship thing they aren't synced up on

Pets: none, but she loves all the stray cats that run around minrathous and was excited to find out treviso had a similar situation.

17. How’d Rook get those scars?

All magics related .. the one of his face is from necrotic magic gone wrong . The touch to his face was brief but the damage was done , he’ s learned to live with it . He has a webbing of thin scars on his body and that is ! Also ! The magics … his palms and tips of his fingers too are scarred .. listen . He was a bit too eager to show off how well he was at necrotic and ice magic and he ended up paying for it . He was a good mage but an Awful Student

Most of them ( aside from the face ) are hidden under body paint ( or gloves ) 9 / 10 so most don’ t even notice them at all

38. Did Rook have any relationships before Veilguard?

Not really … ? He never had anything develop outside looking at each other for too long and maybe brushing hands when we walk beside each other .. + when he was peak getting Good Grade at Mourn Watch he was like “ a relationship might distract me … plus thats like dating a coworker I wont do that . “ then post having to gtfo his reasoning was “ I am SOOO not stable enough if someone looks at me for a second too long I might imprint or get fucking mean “ .
