"You're not supposed to see me before the wedding!" --> Josie to Kazama "I do whatever I want" Chikage
Josie stood in her room looking down at her clothes. It was a beautiful white kimono made from the finest silks. Her fingers toyed with the edges to feel the luxurious material. She briefly thought over the past few months that brought her here - it had been a whirlwind for both her personally and the Japanese people. But Kazama insisted to have a ceremony.
Sen and Kimigiku had been helping her get dressed being the only females she had grown close to. There had been other females in Kazama’s clan, but none that she got as close to. She figured they were wary of her since she would soon be married to the clan’s head.
She was lost in her thoughts as the door slid open and then closed quietly. “Sen, did you find the hairpin?” She asked smoothing down the front of her kimono. Suddenly two hands circled around her waist and pulled her into an embrace. Josie jolted until a deep soothing voice spoke to her.
“You look splendid my bride.” Kazama said snuggling into the crook of her neck.
“K-Kazama!” She harshly whispered, afraid if anyone heard her cry.
“Chikage.” He corrected.
“C-Chikage. You’re not supposed to see me before the wedding!” She pouted turning away from him. She felt him smirk into her skin.
“Hmm?” He feigned ignorance.
“Don’t ‘hmm’ me. It’s supposed to be a surprise.” Josie pouted again.
“What surprise. I bought your dress. And I’ve seen you, both in… and out of clothes. Why should I wait?”
“Kaz… Chikage. Why can’t you follow by the rules?”
“I make my own, my dear. And I say why wait to consumate our wedding?”
“B-Because…” She falter off.
“Hmm?” He smirked again feeling her resistance crumbling.
“Kazama Chikage - get out of here!” Sen’s voice rang out loud as she walked back into the room with the aforementioned hairpin.
“The Yodo Clan Head has no say in my home. You’re interrupting.”
“Now see here-” Sen began.
“AMAGIRI!” Josie yelled out and as if on cue the taller man walked into the room with a sigh.
“Kazama.” His gruff voice said solemnly.
“Why do others presume to boss me in my own home.” He said with a growl and eventually let Josie go as she was pulled away by Sen.
“Look, you can have her all to yourself AFTER the ceremony.” Sen said with a sigh. “Well, within reason.” She added.
From outside of the door Kimigiku softly called towards Josie. “My lady. Your guests have arrived.”
“Oh!” Josie said excitedly.
“Guests? Amagiri, did we know about her guests?” Kazama asked with a snarl.
“Shiranui was told to tell you. It seems he did not.” Amagir said with a shrug. Thankfully a demon’s glare couldn’t kill another demon or Amagiri would be dead.
And before Kazama could reply a ruckus could be heard from outside.
“JOSIE?! We came to rescue you -OW! Don’t hit me Hijikata-san!” Heishi’s voice called out.
“Idiot. We’re not rescuing her. This is her wedding.” Hijikata’s voice replied.
“Well, it would serve that fellow right for stealing her from us.” Shinpachi mumbled.
“What was that Shin? You wanted to marry her yourself?” Harada joked. And while he was laughing Kazama flung the door open and glared at the members of the Shinsengumi, a small yelp came out from Heishi.
“What do you insignificant humans think -”
“We were invited.” Hijikata replied and a stare-down began. Josie quickly poked her head from behind Kazama and waved. Saito nodded in acknowledgement. A whistle came up from Harada before Kazama got angry at others oggling his wife and he and Amagiri stepped outside of the room slamming the door behind him.
“Awww! I wanted to see her more- OW!” Heishi pouted.
“We will see her more. During the ceremony.” Saito’s calm voice replied. Eventually their voices faded away and Sen and Josie sighed.
“Do you really think inviting the Shinsengumi was the best idea?” Sen asked with a little chuckle.
“Well. Probably not, but they’re practically like family since my father and Kaoru aren’t around.” Josie replied and gently placed the hairpin into her hair.
“Hahah. I might actually pity Kazama to have to deal with your ‘family’ then.” The two women looked at each other and laughed at the thought.
Hopefully the house would still be standing long enough for the ceremony to finish, but knowing her husband and friends, that might not happen.
