I'VE BEEN trying to save toma caps as i reread for bookclub (that said i dont have tooooo many oops) bc i love these weirdos

It SEEMS like. there are two distinct animals here that both serve more or less the same purpose and as far as I can remember are both called toma* but are definitely different animals- there's the classic long-faced one with the bird feet, spiked tail, and lil mouth hidden under the mask, and then a more bird-faced one that I THINK has hooves. I did not have a good screencap handy of their whole body OOPS,

*I doublechecked that the bird-faced ones are tomas and they are but i didnt check for the other ones bc. I do not remember when or where that might have happened and dont want to Dig (plus idk how concerned anyone is abt that sdkjghs)

What does your character think about their future? Are they more optimistic or pessimistic about the future? What would their ideal future be?

Going to answer with all my boys, it’s a good opportunity for me to flesh out Linden and Col a bit!

Tomas doesn’t like thinking about the future tooooo much. He sometimes worries about where he is in life, if he’s wasting it or hitting milestones too late, but in the present he is happy. So he focuses on that. He hopes he can carry on with his low-stress job and if his relationship with Luca carries on... he’d like that too :’)

Rowe never thinks about the future, literally never. He knows what happens to Pets when they get old. It’s so normal and ingrained that it doesn’t ever give him stress, at least. If you asked him now though, with Tomas, he’d say he just wants to stay with him and be safe

Linden sees quite a solitary future for himself. Naturally he has Col now, but even still, he doesn’t see himself settling down or starting a family. He’s definitely a little more on the pessimistic side, especially when thinking about things like politics, so he just tries to focus on his own life and make it an honourable one

Col worries about the future, in terms of whether Linden will keep him, when he’ll turn nasty, what Col’s long-term role will be here if he does stay and when he’ll find out. Ideally, he just wants to know. At least then he can focus on meeting Linden’s expectations. He always assumes the worst, though. A pessimist for sure, but the poor thing can’t help it
