#and to freaking talk to his daughter (Flora) about their issues

This. And there’s also the fact that it doesn’t make sense for him to be missing THAT LONG. Like, dive into his issues definitely, but the fact that there’s NO ONE ELSE who goes looking for him? That’s the biggest issue with not referencing the games.
Randall Ascot would not have sat back and ignored that his best friend was missing.
Descole at the very least would become suspicious and some bit of morality would probably urge him to look.
Hell, Don Paolo would look because “I won’t tolerate someone killing Layton before me!”
The longest Hershel Layton should have been missing is a year. Not ten or whatever. You could still try to dig into the issues of it, you could still hold him accountable for his actions, but there is no way in hell that he’d be gone that long with the amount of mad geniuses he knows.
It just feels… lazy. Like they didn’t want to bother with actually exploring the characters.
If there were more substance to it I might actually LIKE Katrielle, but all it makes me think of is that Flora deserved a game where she got to prove herself and force Layton to face his issues. It makes me SAD!
The problem with Layton’s character in the anime
I don’t think the problem with the LMJ anime is that is portrays Layton as a less-than-perfect parent/guardian…
PL3 already showed that when he ditched Flora in his office after he promised not to leave her. Okay, there’s no confirmation Layton adopted Flora or that she’s even a child, but she’s still a young person in Layton’s care— someone who he knows hates being left alone— but he still left her behind for his investigation.
Layton leaving a child, even one he definitely adopted, behind while he investigates a case isn’t necessarily problem. It isn’t necessarily out of character.
With knowledge from previous games in the series, I can headcanon reasons for Layton’s behaviour. E.g., Flora might remind Layton of Aurora, who he couldn’t save. Layton chased after Descole and brought Aurora back to the sanctuary, putting her life in danger. So, he insists on leaving Flora behind now.
During Azran Legacy, Layton had a very nasty shock when he learned that, not only was he adopted, but the enemy he had been fighting for three years was in fact his long lost brother, who had been trying to beat their long lost FATHER— the head of an archaeology cult— to the Azran Legacy.
So if Layton wanted to confirm whether the birth father of the baby he’d adopted was alive? And whether that baby might be linked to an ancient civilisation? I wouldn’t blame Layton at all—
But that’s me trying to make excuses for Layton as a character. That’s me trying to make excuses for the nonsensical writing of the anime.
The anime doesn’t reference Azran Legacy. It doesn’t reference any game or character previously seen in the series— outside of Layton and Luke and Rosa I’m glad you’re here Rosa but where are Grandma and Grandpa Layton— because it doesn’t want to spoil newcomers to the series.
And that’s fine! It’s fine if LMJ wants to be a standalone anime about Layton’s daughter solving daily mysteries and eating sweets and buying clothes! Even the plot point about Layton going missing is fine— it could be intriguing!
But for such a superficial premise… why does Layton’s disappearance need to be so complicated?  Maybe Level 5 wanted to involve archaeology somehow so they just copy-pasted the Azran-looking stones and technology?
But why have Rosa and Luke question Layton’s reasons for leaving Kat behind? Why bring up Kat’s birth father only to never mention him again?
Why wasn’t Rufus Aldebaran Kat’s birth father? Say, if he imprisoned Layton because Layton refused to give up Kat’s location, then at least that would make Layton somewhat justified! (Not for leaving his kids behind, but the fact that Kat’s unknown birth father was indeed a threat.)
Why not just have Layton kidnapped off the street, rather than having him go on an investigation and keep investigating when he knew things were getting dangerous? Why bring up the point of Layton being a questionable parent, only to never unpack it?
Kat gets a nice hug with Layton when they reunite. (That scene actually does make me emotional!) But Kat forgives her dad immediately and the next thing you know, they’re taking down the villain together. And then the credits and the happy music roll.
Maybe a moment of anger from Kat towards her dad was too much to ask from the anime…
But it’s not just the anime. In PL3, Layton leaving Flora behind is brushed off as a joke. (Outside of Chelmey calling Layton out one time…) We get their hug when Flora is rescued from the Mobile Fortress, but it’s not mentioned after that. Flora doesn’t get to say goodbye to Luke with Layton. Flora isn’t present in that last scene with Layton in his office.
Maybe Level 5 were worried about showing Layton as a bad parent— as a ‘bad’ character, even. But… compared to some of the other parents in the series? (Hi, Baron Reinhold, Bronev and Arthur!) Layton really isn’t that bad, even with the anime in mind! It’s okay if he’s not a perfect parent or gentleman 100% of the time! But if Level 5 wanted to give Layton these…conflicted moments as a character, then it would be better if they could actually unpacked them. Give him the angst, Level 5.

I hope it won't bother you, but I wanna ask a few questions about Valkyrie. I am very curious about what was Valkyrie like before. Who she dated before Flora. How she became friends with Crystal, Helia and Kota. And also, I am curious about who she had a crush on and has a crush on her. Does some specialist or witch(and maybe even a fairy) like her.
This will never bother me! I love getting to talk about my characters. (Or getting to talk about things like this in general. XD )
This is gonna get long, so I'm going to put this under a read more. :)
Young Valkyrie:
She's one of the smaller kids in her class, and smaller than most of the people in her family. (In her defense, her mother was under a lot of stress while pregnant, and Rancorians and Obsidinites don't tend to mix well due to internal body temperature differences, but still...)
Valkyrie comes from a long line of researchers and curious people, so she definitely inherits their inquisitive natures and their curiosity and need for knowledge.
Big animal lover! (Except for snakes/serpent like creatures, which will be explained later.) Her favorite will always cats though, as her familiar and her grandmother's familiar are cats.
Close to her cousin Morgan. Almost like sisters, considering they essentially lived together most of the time due to their parents working in Magix while they lived and went to school on Rancor. (Nana Theodora took care of them. Griffin and Salvador's mother.)
Valkyrie is very much like her mother in that she doesn't take slights or insults lightly. However, she's like her father in that her retaliation tends to be immediate. (Though pretty well thought out, like Griffin's revenge stories tend to be.)
She hates horror flicks. Always has, always will. (Though she can stick it out when need be.)
She writes. Though it's mostly to keep her thoughts and her memories separate from that of her Dragon. They tend to blend their souls together often, especially as she grows up, so this is her way of keeping them separate.
Valkyrie has done more elaborate revenge/"lesson teaching" plots similar to her mother's plans over the years. (She's gotten a teacher fired over their inherent biases that they allowed to blend into the classroom back in middle school, has shown up a sexist guy and his dad at her sword-fighting league tournaments, and has caught a creep in the act of creeping and essentially shamed them pretty publicly.)
While she's never actively wanted to get into trouble or get involved in certain issues, she's never been able to back away when something is going down. She's always been quick to shutdown bullying/harassment. (Which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Griffin, while proud of her daughter, is not thrilled that she puts herself into potential danger.)
Like her father before, Valkyrie really got into sword fighting. She was one of the few girls in the Junior Sword Fighting League (typically kids between ages 5-13). She loves sword fighting. Loves it. Even to this day she still practices her swordsmanship.
Valkyrie figured her sexuality out fairly quickly, at around 11. Most of the girls in her class were getting crushes on the boys and she was looking at them instead. (Or their older sisters...)
She used to have long hair, but decided to cut it when she was about 10. Shorter hair is better for sparring and her magic had her running hot.
When she was about 12, she obtained a major scar on her shoulder from sparring unsupervised with her friend Kota. An illusion went wrong on Kota's part and Valkyrie freaked out, which caused Crystal's shielding (she was supposed to keep their magic from spreading outside of their 'sparring ring') to cut them both on their shoulders. Yes, they do call themselves "scar buddies" based on that.
She has a fondness for history, particularly Dark Magic History.
She's also big into Astrology, much like her mother. (They love stargazing together.)
While she can play chess, it's more her mother's thing. She's not the biggest fan, but she does enjoy playing with her mother.
Ever since she was little, she and Griffin had kitchen wars. They've yet to get through baking any treats without flour and sprinkles and dough scattered everywhere.
They also love snowball fights when the Rancorian Winters hit. (As do the rest of the family.)
Competitive. That's all you need to know when it comes to games. (Video, board, live action. Doesn't matter. If it's a game, she wants to win.)
She was about 9 when she found Cheshire. Those two have been bonded ever since. Even Griffin admits he's a big help to her.
This is also the time her eyes started getting bad. (The Sylvane curse as Uncle Salvador put it.)
Valkyrie doesn't like being told she can't do something. That it's impossible for her to do it. (She can and she will. Watch her.)
When her magic first came in, she did burn one of the other kids in her class. It was mostly an accident, but it still wasn't pretty. And she almost got expelled.
(She's also almost gotten expelled over little pranks she's pulled over the years. One of which almost burned down the middle school.)
Crystal:
Valkyrie met Crystal their first day of elementary school. Crystal and her family were still new to the realm after moving from Isis and she was getting harassed by some of the older kids who thought they were being 'cool' for picking on the new girl.
So, Valkyrie promptly threw stones and the rest is history. (They became quick friends after Crystal realized Valkyrie wasn't throwing the rocks at her, but at the older kids.)
Crystal is more the voice of reason behind some of Valkyrie's schemes, having realized early on that the smaller witch was prone to getting into trouble.
Not that she doesn't cook up a few plans of her own... She has triplet younger brothers, she's got some great prank ideas.
But really, they just sort bonded and grew close after their initial meeting. And even closer when Valkyrie's magic really came in and they talked about her being the keeper of the Dark Dragon Fire. (Which was mindblowing for Crystal. Her best friend had primordial magic. That's wicked cool.)
(Until it isn't and she quickly realized that it can be a hassle. But it is what it is.)
Helia:
Valkyrie's first friend outside of the family. They were essentially pushed together due to Griffin and Saladin's friendship. (Saladin often helped his sister, Helia's mother, with her son, so he'd take Helia places with him.)
It was always him, Morgan, and Valkyrie. At least, before Crystal and Kota joined in.
He quickly became the shy older brother to Valkyrie, trying not to let her talk him and Morgan into things, while also going along with it because someone had to be responsible.
Helia's actually the first person Valkyrie came out to, though it was partially to help get him to stop focusing on his parents' divorce. (He needed a distraction, so she distracted him.)
Which is funny, because it brought them closer together, prompting the others in their group to wonder if they were 'together'. (Which hurt Morgan who always had a crush on Helia.)
(That was fun to explain. But they managed.)
Helia is the reason Valkyrie got into the Junior Sword Fighting League. His uncle had enrolled him and when he talked about it with Valkyrie, she got interested herself. (She was far better suited for it, he didn't like sword fighting, but he enjoyed being part of the team and getting to cheer her on.)
Helia's also part of the reason Valkyrie has the fear of serpents/snakes that she has.
The adults (his uncle Saladin, Morgan's dads, Griffin, Kota's parents, Crystal's parents, and Faragonda) decided to take the kids camping in the Wildlands when they were about 12ish.
While the adults were busy talking/setting up camp, Valkyrie had the idea to go and explore. Kota and Morgan agreed. Crystal and Helia hesitated, but decided to go. After all, there were plenty of hiking trails and the adults had signed off on them sticking to the trails and siteseeing.
Things took a turn when Helia was talked into trying out his magic. (His mom is a witch and his uncle is a powerful wizard, surely he had some magic inside of him.)
Which, he does have magic, just a strong connection to it. Best he can do is a few location spells and some note-sending. (Also spells regarding his art. Like keeping his sketchbooks in proper care, his brushes never bending, that sort of thing.)
His magic ended up sending the kids into a Basilisks Den.
Needless to say, things didn't go well. The basilisks tried to eat the kids, the kids were struggling to protect themselves, and things got messy after one wrapped itself around Valkyrie and had her paralyzed with fear. (NOTE: in my Winx world, basilisks are snake like creatures that, if you lock eyes with them, they will look into your soul and pull out your worst nightmare, paralyzing you so they can eat you.)
Morgan managed to get her Winx form in order to protect her cousin, and she and Helia combined magic to summon help from the adults.
(Who did save them pretty quickly after. And then gave a good lecture on why you shouldn't stray from the trails...)
Kota:
Kota is a bully turned friend.
When the girls were in elementary school, about their third or fourth year, (4th grade if your American), Kota and his family arrived into Rancor.
He tried to be the bully to avoid being picked on, and ended up trying to turn his 'bullying' onto Crystal.
It didn't end well and he and Valkyrie ended up at each other's throats.
After a few of these 'altercation and detention' periods, they got to talking and found they actually had things in common. Which led to Kota being brought into the friend group.
(He's still quite the instigator though, and tends to hype up the bad ideas Valkyrie has.)
(They also tend to hype each other up into doing stupid/I'll show you styled challenges and dares. Crystal, Morgan, and Helia stay exasperated at them.)
Kota is also one of Valkyrie's best sparring partners for sword fighting. They were even on the same Junior Sword Fighting League team. He joined a little after they finally became friends at her insistence. (He's thankful now, imagine how behind he'd been at RF without that training.)
Relationships:
Outside of Flora, Valkyrie's had little dating history. Not that she didn't want to date or have relationships, it's just she was always involved in something. (Usually school-related. I may talk about her being a bit of a trouble-maker, but she was also one of the top students. She couldn't handle not being at the top.)
There was her first crush on Crystal. Though that quickly fizzled out. (Friendship first. Always.)
Then there was the girl she ended up outing herself over: Mary. Didn't end well because Mary wasn't exactly a nice girl and practically broadcast the whole situation to the school... But she did think Mary was beautiful.
During her time doing tournaments with the Sword Fighting League; she had flirted with and asked out a few of the sisters of the other competitors. Just a few dates from them, never anything too serious. But it was cute. (Griffin had to refrain from talking about how much like him she was being.)
Anya was her first big relationship, though it ended before she left for CT due to finding out Anya had been cheating. Not a fun time.
She briefly dated another CT witch, Hecate. (But it wasn't a good relationship. Even she'd admit this: she was sort of using Hecate to keep from thinking of Flora, who she thought was a bit too-good for her and her family's history.)
Chimera, Stella's almost step-sister, had a sort of crush on Valkyrie, though it could have been considered an obsession. It all started with Valkyrie trying to protect Chimera and Cassandra from Valtor (or she thought she was protecting them from him) and Chimera just adored the attention. (Valkyrie was just trying to be nice.)
There are probably a few fairies or witches who had their crushes, though Valkyrie didn't notice much due to having her attention either on Flora or trying to protect the Magical Dimension.
The only specialist with a crush on Valkyrie that I can really think of is Harlan. And that could also be considered obsession because she has told him repeatedly (and nicely) that she is a lesbian and only wants to be friends.
(He sort of fixated on her after an incident when they were kids. His dad owns one of the stores in Magix and she was with her mom doing some school supply shopping. He was having issues with a creature that had broken out of one of the books and Valkyrie was quick to try and keep him safe. Yeah...)
There were also a few guys during their Earth stint, but again, she wasn't noticing.
(Though she does notice when others have their eyes on Flora, and she makes a big point to let them know who the fairy is with. Usually either by a big PDA scene, or by a small, subtle burn starting on their skin.)
That's Valkyrie! Hope this answers your questions.
(Sorry it took so long. I just wanted to get my stuff together to answer this properly.)

Winx Alt Con Season 02 Recap:
Previously: Season 01, Week 09.2
Week 10/11: Episodes N/A?
In Shadowhaunt, Darkar contemplates the ginger haired fairy who broke into his lair, realising quickly that she must be related to Miriam, the Vessel-to-be he'd once kidnapped (before her friends had shown up to put him to sleep).
The difference between Miriam and this new fairy, is that the new one already held the Dragon Fire, he wouldn't need a ritual to force it to shift into her, as he had with the other. Which meant less time for her to be rescued before he finished his task.
Plotting his future victory, Darkar decides to gather information, including: How long he's been asleep, who is this new fairy, where do the objects of his quest lie, and who woke him from his slumber?
The morning after the Winx and Aisha return with the pixies, the group is called to Faragonda's office. They have a few issues they need to deal with.
The first concerns Aisha directly, as Faragonda has contacted the girl's parents on Andros and explained the situation to them. While the king and queen were frantic when they realised their daughter was missing, they are now distraught at the realisation she is entangled in a dangerous situation whether she wants out or not.
After two hours of... talking, Faragonda has managed to get them to agree to allow Aisha to transfer to Alfea if she so chooses. Aisha does (jumping on the chance to be away from the palace and closer to the pixies).
The girls fall into a brief confrontation when the Stella assumes Aisha will be joining the Winx, but Aisha rejects the idea.
Flora manages to interrupt before things can get too heated however, and Faragonda brings up the second thing they all need to discuss.
Having a pixie Bond is a huge step for a fairy, it's a potentially life long commitment, and has various effects on both the fairy and pixie's powers. The Winx and their pixies will need to begin the 'Bonding 101' course Alfea offers, learning how to adapt to the Bond. Faragonda tells Aisha that she hopes the princess would be willing to join the Winx for this, as she has been Bonded to Piff for some time now, and having her there might help the Winx in their lessons.
When Aisha reluctantly agrees, Faragonda takes the chance to present the third issue: a fast tracked training program for the girls, teaching them combat, both group and single, in an effort to get them ready for the attacks and retaliation Darkar will likely unleash upon them.
The group takes a few moments, just to be tired, they've just finished a week of fighting, and they don't want to do more, but they also understand the kind of trouble they've found themselves in, and agree to the classes.
Once they've left the office, the girls split up to contact their families and let them know: they aren't coming home for the holidays.
One of the first things Aisha does as pixie Bond mentor, is have Bloom sit down with both Lockette and Kiko and talk to them both, to let Kiko know that he is not being replaced, and that they are both very important to Bloom. She loves them both equally but different, and the duo decide do their best to get along.
Griselda meets the Winx, Aisha and their pixies in the courtyard the day after, and lays out the training schedule she's put together for the group.
It starts off harsh and doesn't get better, the group mortified to realise they can't get a single hit on Griselda, no matter what they try, and the head of discipline has banned Bloom from using the Dragon Flame she holds. (“If you need to resort to the Dragon Flame, it means you've already lost, and if it doesn't work, you have nothing else even comparable in your arsenal.”)
Every so often, Mirta joins the group for practice, though she still struggles with her fairy magic, so used to relying on the more negative powers she was raised to wield.
By the second week of training, the pixies begin to get involved, fighting alongside the fairies and using the their Bonds and newly discovered Bond abilities to help in combat. An interesting non-Bond ability the girls uncover, is Bloom's ability to actually wield the Ring of Solaria.
Though the girls can all feel it isn't as connected with her as it is with Stella, the Ring seems to recognise something with in her. After one particularly gruelling training session, Tecna asks if Daphne might know anything about Bloom's implausible ability to wield the Ring.
This results in Bloom berating herself for forgetting about her sister, again, until Flora reminds Bloom she's not allowed out of the school anyway – a precaution based on her status as Vessel, and Darkar's history with her mother.
Musa suggests asking Faragonda, who is both 'hella old' and 'hella knowledgable.'
But not about this ,as it turns out.
While Faragonda doesn't know why or how Bloom might be able to use the Ring outside Dragon Fire Vessel shenanigans, she does have an idea that might benefit Bloom and Daphne: the creation of a new Dragon Fire Temple.
During their time off from combat training, the Winx and Aisha and their pixies begin crafting a new 'temple' for Daphne to use as a tethering point, instead of the one at Roccaluce.
During his information gathering, Darkar attempts to probe the three schools, shocked (and pleased) to find Red Fountain more a pile of rubble than a school. Unfortunately, it means there are workers moving about the building at all hours, and he can't seem to find what he's looking for anyway.
Cloud Tower is like wise occupied, and Alfea is bustling.
Amidst the fairy populace, he spots the fairies who'd taken the pixies, and an older, vaguely familiar fairy. While it enrages him to realise this headmistress is in fact one of those responsible for his centuries long nap, Darkar chooses discretion for the time being, lurking about long enough to learn a few things, before withdrawing.
Training for the group hits a snag, a few days before the new term, things finally come to a head over it. Stella and Aisha have trouble working together, something not quite meshing, even more so than Aisha and the rest of the Winx.
What follows is a screaming match between the two princesses, as Aisha explains she doesn't want to get too close to the Winx because they'll leave her, everyone always leaves her alone again, Stella, meanwhile, begins ranting about Aisha flat out rejecting them, which stumbles into the fear of rejection Stella's been carrying for years.
Half an hour after the fight begins, Stella and Aisha finally wind down, tired and emotionally drained as they both express their desire to stay with the Winx, to be part of a group that will never leave them.
The other four step up, and assure the pair that they will never reject Stella for who she is, and Aisha will always be welcomed with them.
Teary eyed, Stella and Aisha finally accept what they've both been denying: they are accepted, wanted and no longer alone. Musa swears and the others just stare as light erupts on both Aisha and Stella's chests, forming into small charms.
The six girls freak out as they realise what has happened, Aisha and Stella have faced the mirror, faced themselves, and (taken the first steps to) overcome the doubts and fears hidden in their hearts.
Griselda, who has been watching the entire time with the seasoned eye of someone who's seen many Charmix earned, waves them away when they ask to be allowed to cut out of training to officially make Aisha a member of the Winx.

I will always come back; Rocket Raccoon x Human!Reader
This request came from my Wattpad account and this was my first attempt to write a romantic oneshot featuring our Favorite trash panda Rocket. Now I took inspiration from the newly opened up Disney attraction after watching some of the videos on youtube GOTG: Mission Breakout so the quotes I have in the beginning belong to the ride I give them FULL credit. Anyways I hope you all enjoy this oh and if you want, fill free to listen to Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation when it comes up in the story :) Besides swearing not really any more warnings for you guys.
Tumblr media
____________________________________________________________
"This is all your fault" snarled Gamora.
"Well at least we get a really cool looking sign" stated Peter. Soon golden words came across his glass screen and he whined out, "ahh man they got my name wrong its Star-Lord, dude. Although they do call me the leader. That's pretty cool".
"Yes because you led down here into this trap!"
"Hey, I thought the tour sounded fun"
"What name do they call me?" asked Drax. As words appeared across his cage. Peter leaned in and said out loud.
"Ahh Drax the Destroyer".
"Ha! That is correct".
"They got his name right".
"That's what bothers you!"
"Well sorry, Gamora Daughter of Thanos". Gamora's eyed widened as she saw the words across her cage and she shouted in rage.
"I AM NOT THE DAUGHTER OF THANOS!!" She punched her cage which shocked her with such high levels of voltage it light up her entire cage and caused her to shake her hand in pain.
"You're not supposed to tap the glass" Peter smart-mouthed.
"DON'T EVEN START!"
"Hey! Would you two keep it down over there!?" Rocket shouted to both Peter and Gamora.
"I am Groot" stated Bab Groot.
"I know! They're so inconsiderate".
"I am Groot".
"According to that you're not Groot, you're a Flora Colossus".
"I am Groot!"
"Don't listen to him. You are Groot" stated Rocket.
"Hey you wanna know what they call you Rocket?" asked Peter.
"I know what they call me. Cybernetic, genetically—"
"Pet Rodent!" Drax then let out a boisterous laugh as Rocket exclaimed angrily.
"ALRIGHT! WHOEVER CALLS ME PET WILL ANSWER TO MY FIST!!"
"I thought you'd be more upset about the Rodent"
"Ain't nothing in the universe like me except me!" The Guardians of the Galaxy had once again found themselves in a serious predicament. Having been tricked by the Collector, they have now become a part of his collection on Knowhere for his profit and gain.
The cages they were in were made especially for them since the Collector had known that Rocket was known for escaping from every imprisonment that he's even been put in. The wires in each cage were hooked up to his Massive generator which gave each cage unimaginable power and any touch of it would deliver a painful shock throughout their bodies. The cages were also elevated at the center of his collection and even if they were able to escape, they would only end up falling into an abyss thousands of feet.
They continued to argue amongst themselves when Groot exclaimed at them to be quiet then Gamora fell to her knees helplessness saying.
"I'm in hell". But as she leaned against her cage, she got shocked again which made Drax chuckle. The Guardians knew that unless Rocket could magically get out of his cage and free them, they would forever be at the hands of the Collector and be a freak-show for the rest of their lives.
Or so they thought.
Unbeknownst to the Collector, there was one member of the Guardian's missing from his collection. And she was currently climbing up the walls of the gantry lift with one of Rocket's guns wrapped around her back. To a normal person climbing up 40-50ft of wall would seem impossible but to (y/n) (l/n) it was next to nothing for her.
*1st Person POV*
The name is (y/n) (l/n) one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Just to get some of the basic information out of the way I am human but I was taken from my home by black market aliens and taken to the same planet where Rocket and Groot were taken and experimented on. The scientists had given me enhanced strength as well as intelligence like my boyfriend. (Wait what?)
Yeah you heard right. Rocket Raccoon is my boyfriend. After helping them throughout our time together in that hellhole, Rocket helped Groot get some water in his system after finding him dehydrated and just before escaping they helped me when I was being beaten by some of the scientists for sport.
Once I was saved, I escaped with them and the three of us teamed up to drag in any bounties to make as much money as we could and throughout that time Rocket and I began to fall for each other. Of course him being the stubborn ass that he is he didn't want to admit it but Groot actually played Matchmaker and set us up on a romantic starlight dinner and that's when the truth finally came out from both of us.
And I'm sure you guys know what happened next after we had made it to Xandar, if not then go do your research.
Anyways, fast forward a few months after we saved the galaxy from Ronan and to make this long story short, Rocket and I had our usual arguments with each other but the last one we had was so bad that I couldn't even bear to look at him anymore and I walked out on him. Next thing I know, Mantis tells me that the Collector has imprisoned him in his collection and here I am now.
Finally after a long climb, I make it to the Generator's level and I see the power source just ahead of me. I then decided now would be a good time to make my grand entrance. I take out my boyfriend's gun and ready it as I stated.
"I live for the simple things, like how much I'm going to enjoy this". I then pull the trigger and the blast hits the power source which then cuts the entire power off then I wire the speakers and proclaimed.
"Attention K-mart shoppers, this is your savior speaking. Please enjoy our program after this commercial breakout". I then plugged in Quill's Walkman and my favorite rocker girl Joan Jett "Bad Reputation" came on as I raced towards the generator then did a superhero burst out of the glass and fell epically down on top of an escaped flying womp rat.
With my friends' weapons and seeing all the creatures now free along with the Collector's security drones trying to fire at everything in sight. I took control of my flying womp rat by using some wires that I keep at my hip for emergencies like this, I made sure that when it had open its disgusting mouth the wire went inside his mouth and like a rein I controlled his flight patterns.
"Hey Gamora!" I tossed her, her sword and she freed herself from one of the tentacles of an Abilisk. Then after jumping out of the mouth of a gargoyle-like giant behemoth, Drax punched its face which threw it backwards I called out his name and tossed him his daggers.
"Thank you (y/n)! You are a cunning warrior and I am honored to fight alongside you!"
"No prob, where's Rocket and Groot?"
"Last I saw them they were with Quill". I nodded then urged my womp rat onward. Flying a few levels higher, I took notice that Rocket and Quill were overwhelmed by droids as well as the small pestering alien rats.
"Babe!" Rocket turned to me and I tossed him his gun which he caught and readied it before saying.
"Oh—yeah!" He then went crazy firing at the drones. I then leaped off my womp rat and tackled one of the drones and punched my bare hand into its main control and ripped it off then quickly rewired it and used it as my own weapon at any oncoming threat.
"Hey (l/n) you didn't happen to grab my blasters did you?"
"Here you punk!" I tossed him his blasters and he went nuts with them before asking me.
"You didn't really think this through did you?"
"Shut up, okay! At least I'm getting you out of here aren't I?"
"I am Groot!" I then saw a vine tentacle grab Groot and take him towards an enhanced Venus fly-trap.
"Groot!" I took a running start then leaped in the air to try and grab him but I was suddenly grabbed by a three headed snake. Its coils wrapped around me tightly squeezing the life out of me. I could almost hear the sound of my bones cracking that's when I heard Rocket's voice say.
"Hey lizard breath! Get your damn coils off'a my girl!" He then fired at the snake's heads which made them rear back and release me but I ended up falling with no womp rat to get on. But it was then Peter grabbed me and said.
"What would you do without me?"
"Apparently be a pancake". Peter then took me back towards Rocket.
"What's the plan now?" Peter asked me.
"We're going home. Mantis is on the upper level waiting for us with the Milano, get everyone together and meet me up there in a few minutes. I still need to grab some things".
"I'm coming too!" Rocket exclaimed.
"No you're going with Peter!"
"You ain't getting rid of me that easily babe now I'm coming whether you like it or not!" Rocket stated firmly as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Fine but let's go now before creepy mc-bad-hairdo sends in more of his drones. We're gonna make some fireworks". I stated as I ran off. Rocket smirked and stated to Peter before running off after me.
"I love it when she talks explosives".
"You got issues Rocket!" Peter called out.
Throughout various levels of the facility, we each set up bombs and activated them while I had the detonator. I also went ahead and grabbed Peter's Walkman since I knew I'd never hear the end of it if that got destroyed, plus I like hearing some of his music. I then met up with the others at the Milano and saw everyone was there except for Rocket.
"Where's Rocket?" I asked.
"I thought he was with you!" said Peter.
"He was but then he disappeared on me as I was grabbing this for you!" I showed Peter his Walkman and he said.
"Yes! (Y/n) you got my Walkman thanks little sis!" He then went to glomp me in a hug but I sidestepped which made him trip as I scouted the area worriedly. If Rocket didn't come back in the next 1:45 those bombs will set off anyway even without the detonator.
Suddenly Rocket appeared flying up with his jetpack and he landed right next to me.
"So we outta here or what?"
"Yes. Let us be relieved of this haunting environment" stated Drax. We all then aboard the Milano and Peter took the wheel and we took off and with the detonator, Rocket and I together pushed the button and watched as the Collector's office blew up in fireworks. Finally we all left Knowhere and left all of that insane mess behind us and set our course for wherever we wanted to go.
"You really came through for us (y/n), thank you" Gamora stated as she placed her hand on my shoulder. I smiled softly and nodded at her. Drax then stood up and very strongly patted my back once and thanked me just like Gamora did. Groot then came up to me and lifted his arms up to me which made me smile softly and pick him up and I held him close to my chest and in turn he yawned cutely and fell asleep.
"But why? Why did you come back?" stated Rocket solemnly. The rest of the Guardians took that statement as their moment to leave. I passed Groot to Gamora and they all left the room leaving Rocket and I to talk alone.
"Because I wanted to".
"But after that fight, everything I said to you about being a—" I knelt down beside him and kissed his nose before taking his face into my hands.
"Don't ruin the moment alright?" He softly grinned then I continued, "We fight, that's what all couples do. Sometimes fights leave to things being said that aren't really true, and Rocket I was angry at the time but I know you, and I know that everything you said wasn't true, and you know me enough to know I didn't mean any of the things I said about you. And no matter how much we fight, or whatever stupid things we may say to each other, I will always come back to you".
"Same here" he said sincerely as his eyes glistened with tears of love and admiration. "God, when did I get so lucky to find someone like you?"
"I ask myself to same thing every day babe". We both smiled at each other and as we leaned in for a kiss, it was then the annoying buzzing voice of Quill stated out-loud.
"No mutant baby making in my ship!"
"DAMNIT QUILL MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!" Rocket shouted out. I rolled my eyes and took Rocket in my arms and the two of us just cuddled together for the remainder of the ride.

Bad for Me Ch. 6: Deployment
Word count: 2393 Pairings: Nyx x OC (Eve Leonis)
Previous Chapter
Bad for Me Masterlist
Tumblr media
“You two, in my office. Now.”
Captain Drautos stormed away leaving Eve and Nyx staring daggers at each other. Eve snarled and hurried after him. Nyx took a deep breath before following.
‘That woman is insufferable sometimes’, he thought and worried about what Drautos had in store for them. After their latest vocal display, the captain was not going to let them off the hook, Nyx was pretty damn sure of it. It wasn’t his fault that Eve picked a fight about everything. Well not entirely his fault at least.
“What is the meaning of this pointless bickering?! You’ve been at it for days now,” Drautos demanded to know.
Eve and Nyx stood tense in form, looking at the wall behind the captain. They both were ashamed  of having caused a scene and neither of them really wanted to tell the captain about their joint “exercise” a few days earlier.
“Well?” Drautos said with an impatient tap on the desk.
“Sir–“ Nyx started after an awkwardly silent moment, but Drautos interrupted him.
“If you can’t sort it out here, you will do so at Duscae. I dare hope that your lives will depend on it.”
Eve’s stomach dropped and she took a glance at equally shocked Nyx.
“A mission to Duscae, sir?” Nyx asked.
Drautos nodded. “Precisely. You are to travel to the Chocobo Post, South from Nebulawood. The hunters have requested aid in disposing of a particularly menacing behemoth there,” the captain elaborated.
Eve was confused. It was not normal to send Kingsglaive agents to solve some fiend problems. They were elite soldiers, sworn to protect the king and fight the Empire. It was a waste of their time and talents at best. These kinds of missions were more suited for the Crownsguard whenever aid from the crown city was truly needed.
Eve and Nyx nodded, even though they both wondered what the real reason behind this mission was. Drautos looked from Nyx to Eve and sighed. The woman steeled herself for a lecture.
“Leonis, I was going to send you with Altius on this mission, but this will be a fitting consequence for you both.”
Eve clenched her jaw at the captain’s words. Instead of a fun road trip with Crowe, she was in for a dreadful time with Nyx. Maybe she could just plug her headphones in and not talk for the whole drive? Since their current “complicated” relationship status, Eve really wasn’t looking forward to this mission.
“I will inform the Commander that the issue will be taken care of by you two and the Crownsguard isn’t needed,” the captain said, “Dismissed.”
Nyx rushed from the room and resisted the urge to look at Eve’s reaction.
‘Of course my father would have something to do with this.’ Eve was grinding her teeth in anger.
After the fourth beep Cor finally answered his cellphone.
“Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the field trip,” Eve’s voice was filled with bitter venom.
“Eve, what do you mean?” Cor sounded confused. He had thought that encouraging captain Drautos into deploying Eve would have made her happy.
“I don’t want to bitch about work to you, but Drautos is sending us to help hunters in Duscae,” Eve inhaled deeply and forced herself to calm down, “I am a Kingsglaive and sure as hell have fought for this position. I should be out there, fighting back the Empire. Not hunting animals.”
“Eve, what do you want me to say? I don’t know why you’re angry–“ Cor pleaded.
“I don’t need you ‘helping’ me to get on a mission!” Eve was more frustrated than angry. Or rather, her ire wasn’t really pointed towards her father.
“Listen, all I did was mention to Drautos that I think you should get some experience”–Cor raised his voice so Eve couldn’t interrupt him–“and doing some minor missions before setting out to the front lines would put my mind at ease.”
Eve fell silent at her father’s worry.
“So you said ‘us’. Who is going with you?” Cor asked and Eve sighed displeased.
“Nyx Ulric,” she answered in defeat.
Cor was taken aback by this. He knew that Nyx was a good soldier and thrived in the front lines. This sort of marginal mission was a waste of his skills.
“Why? Is someone like him really needed to babysit you? I had more faith in your skills,” he tried to make light of the subject after hearing his daughter’s odd reaction to the captain’s choice of company for her.
“We, uh, sort of had a fight at the garrison and the captain got angry with us,” Eve confessed a half-truth.
“About?”
“Nothing important,” she said quickly, “It’s just that Ulric really gets on my nerves sometimes.” Or in truth, more like all the time. Eve sighed in frustration.
“I see. Well you better sort it out then,” the father said warmly, “Listen, I have to go. Unless we don’t see each other before you leave: Good luck out there. And be careful.”
“I will.” Eve closed the call and sighed again. If one’s life was really shortened by thirty seconds each time they sighed, she would probably be dead by the next morning and wouldn’t have to suffer Nyx’s company in a metal box with no escape.
The next morning didn’t bring the comfort of death for Eve. She turned off the annoyingly buzzing alarm clock and stretched her hands in the bed. They had agreed that Nyx would obtain a car from the Citadel and come pick her up as she lived further away from it. Of course, this communication had been made by texting with as few words as possible. The winner was the one who didn’t have to text back anymore.
Eve showered, ate breakfast and checked that she had everything she needed in her backbag. It was going to be a long ride and thus earphones were extra safely stuffed in her pocket. Five minutes to the rendezvous time, she went outside and waited by the street. A black car pulled in front of her.
“Oh, you still have some chivalry left in you,” Eve marked when Nyx leaned in to shove the door open for her from inside.
The man rolled his eyes. “And good morning to you,” he muttered.
“What is our route? I was thinking we should head west from the gates to Longwythe Rest Area,” Eve said nonchalantly.
“The south route to Duscae has fewer travelers and it would be more difficult to get through the Empire’s possible roadblocks. We need to take the longer route in north,” Nyx matched Eve’s tone and focused his eyes on the road.
“Right,” Eve held back a frustrated sigh, “let’s do that then.”
She attempted to act civil and make it clear that she didn’t want to discuss anything that wasn’t related to their mission.
Nyx had opposite plans. He had finally caught Eve alone in a situation where she couldn’t run. They hadn’t actually ever discussed their night together, save for that Eve had forbid him of talking about it to anyone and seemed to hate his guts. She was hastily scrambling with her headphone cords.
‘Oh no, you won’t hide behind those.’
“Here, let me,” Nyx took the cord mess from Eve and threw it out of the window.
“Why’d you do that?!” Eve screamed. Nyx flashed a playful grin at her. Eve felt her cheeks heating up. This was exactly the nightmare scenario she had wished to avoid. There was no escape unless she really needed to pee.
“I’ll get you new ones when we get back,” Nyx promised and was amused to see Eve’s troubled face.
A silence fell in the car that lasted for some time after they got cleared from the city gates. The city view changed into a desert. Sun was already high in the sky, casting down its searing rays to burn the non-existent flora. Eve thought absent-mindedly about the car’s air conditioning and what if it broke down and Nyx would decide to take off his shirt. It was really hot in the desert.
“Was it really that bad?” Nyx asked quietly, eyes fixated on the empty road.
Eve shook away daydreams of the shirtless man and turned to look at the real thing in surprise.
“What?” she frowned. ‘He wants to discuss that now?! Must he bring that up every freaking time he has the slightest chance?’
Nyx turned to look straight in her eyes. His blue eyes had sadness concealed in them that Eve could sometimes see when Nyx was deep in thought. It made her wonder.
“No, it wasn’t,” she let out softly and blushed.
Nyx turned to look the other way, hiding away his nervous smile.
“We never talked about it,” he said and cleared his throat. He really needed to know where they stood. It was maddening how Eve was avoiding the subject in every way she could.
“Fulgurian’s ass, Nyx! We did, and besides there wasn’t much to discuss. So, uh, let it go.”
“What are you so embarrassed about?” he asked.
‘More like mortified to the brink of fatality,’ Eve thought miserably. It wasn’t like her at all to go home with someone she had just met in a bar, especially someone she worked with. Not everything could be pinned on being drunk and horny.
“I am not. I just don’t think we need to dwell on it,” Eve shrugged trying to keep it cool.
“God damn it woman, why are you so difficult?”
“I am difficult?! Why do you have the need to bring this up whenever you have the cha–“
“Because every time I try to clear this shit up, you run as fast as you can with those scrawny legs of yours–”
“I could kick your ass with these scrawny legs so shut up already.” Eve was furious. She had to squeeze her knees in her palms so she wouldn’t have fists free to hit Nyx.
“And resorting to threats of violence. That’s very classy of you Eve,” Nyx said, “You really must be into that kinky stuff after all.”
Eve snarled in anger and responded in equal manner, “Do you ever think about anything else than winding up? You’re so typical.”
“When I’m with you? No,” Nyx blurted out.
Silence fell and they both looked away from each other.
Nyx pulled the car to the gas station in Hammerhead. They hadn’t talked at all during the rest of the drive and Eve was still salty about her headphones.
“I’m going to fill the tank,” Nyx said and exited the vehicle.
“Right. I’ll get some lunch then,” Eve replied though Nyx couldn’t really hear her from outside the car. She marched at the local pit stop and ordered something on the go. She sat down to wait for the food and look at the sunny desert outside. She felt really vexed about bickering with Nyx again, but since he insisted on being a jerk, there wasn’t much Eve could do.
‘Have you ever thought about actually asking him nicely to forget?’ Eve reminded herself with a sigh. She just couldn’t understand why the man was so obsessed over what had happened. Maybe it was a male thing? Did they need to know how their performance had been? Eve could only guess or ask straight, the latter being something she was never going to do. She just wished to forget it ever happened.
In the meanwhile Nyx had finished up filling the tank and parked the car to wait for Eve. She had mumbled something about lunch and should come back soon. He was trying to think of what to say to her, but hadn’t come up with anything passable as he already saw her navigating towards the car under the bright sunlight.
Eve tossed a paper bag on Nyx’s lap without even looking at him.
“Thanks,” he mumbled and took a bite of the chockfull sandwich. They took off while still eating.
”Don’t talk to me. I don’t want to be in your company right now, but since I have no choice on the matter, just be silent so I can pretend you’re not here,” Eve said in an even tone.
”Funny, some time ago you seemed to really enjoy yourself in my company,” Nyx reminded her.
“You want me to write a novel for you from our night? Well, too bad it wouldn’t have enough material for even a grade school essay,” she said spitefully and chewed down her sandwich.
“If you say so.”
“What? You don’t remember?”
Nyx fell silent.
“You don’t remember,” Eve realized. ‘That’s why he’s been asking about it all the time? Was he really that drunk?’ Somehow she suddenly felt hurt.
“I just thought that after what happened–“ Nyx began spluttering.
“What exactly did you think would happen?” Eve snarled in anger, “We get married and adopt a dog?”
Nyx shook his head angrily and Eve wasn’t even nearly finished.
“On the contrary to what you seem to believe, I am not yours. I don’t have to be with you. Do you think I have no self-control and I will just–, swoon at your feet whenever you want?”
“What I’m trying to say is that all I wanted was a fair chance,” Nyx argued. His knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel.
Eve exhaled forcefully through her nose.
‘I wanted him just for his body. Tell him that, and we’re done here,’ but Eve couldn’t make herself say something so hurtful out of spite nor could she admit that the sentiment wasn’t true. Nyx’s physique had been the topmost reason for her to fall for him at first sight.
“It was a mistake. That’s it,” Eve toned down and looked away. She had worked so hard to earn her place in the Kingsglaive. All those years of training to join the fight against Niflheim would have gone to waste if she were forced to quit now.
Nyx couldn’t think of anything to say. He could have been cheeky about it and tell Eve it was only a mistake if they were caught. The last thing he wanted was her getting hurt. Perhaps it was better to let Eve have her way on the matter, for the time being at least.

Layla Headcanons:
Tumblr media
Everyone, meet Princess Layla Poole of Andros.
She’s the best surfer this side of the Magical Dimension and an excellent escape artist. (Do you have any idea how hard it is to escape from a castle to go out and just breathe without someone watching over you? It’s pretty freaking hard.)
Layla’s probably one of the few voices of reason within the Winx group, and one of the more mature ones.
(All headcanons relate to my main “Balance/Company of Light” verse and my “Left” verse.)
-Believe it or not, Layla can breathe for a set amount of time underwater/hold her breath for long periods of time. She is sort of half-merperson after all. (Her father, Teredor, is what they call a ‘land-walker’ merperson. He mastered the spell that the merpeople can use to turn their tails into feet. He was actually next in line for the MerKingdom’s throne, but he fell in love with Niobe and managed to leave his own throne for his younger brother Neptune and take to the ‘land throne’ with Niobe.)
-Layla’s body can actually form scales if she’s in the water for a long enough period of time. (Like how most people start getting pruney-like when in the water? Layla starts to scale. Hers are a lovely seafoam color and shine brighter than Stella’s favorite necklace.)
-Growing up, she was close to her cousins. Nereus and Tritannus acted like her older brothers and taught her so much about the underwater world as well as life in general. And she and Tressa were practically sisters. (This changed after they all became teenagers, especially when it started becoming apparent that Tritannus and his father were falling out.)
-Layla wasn’t always so sheltered. She used to be able to go on trips with her parents to other realms and used to be allowed to explore around the MerKingdom with her cousins without any repercussions.
-That changed after Layla turned 7. Rumors of remaining Coven members being spotted around Andros made her parents wary and then there was an attempted kidnapping of Layla by a group of sirens who had been known to work closely with Tharma happened… After that, Layla became a bit of a prisoner in her own home because her parents were so afraid of something happening to her.
-Layla was early to get her powers (5), and early to gain her first fairy form (12). Niobe and her most trusted court members took to training her in her fairy magic, wanting her to be able to believe in her own abilities as a fairy. (And hope it would translate into her abilities as a princess and a queen.)
-When she was younger, Layla used to ask for a younger sibling. Her parents had to explain that it was hard enough for them to have her, that they were afraid of risking trying to have another. (Even land-walkers and ‘humans’ have issues with fertility. Layla had been such a blessing to them, their last attempt to have a “natural” child.)
-Layla has already had her Princess Ball, but it was vastly different from Stella’s. She had little-to-no say in what happened as her parents were going for a strictly traditional Androsian Ball. The only upside was her cake and that Tressa was there with her.
-Anne was her first friend after she’d been put into ‘lockdown’ by her parents. (And was sort of her first crush. But it’s nice knowing they’ll be close again after Anne married Nabu’s older sister.)
-Layla’s favorite activity/sport may be dancing, but she has many others she’s in love with. Swimming. Water polo. Surfing. Tide Bombing. Androsian Wave Skiing. Water Races. Synchronized Swimming. (Basically, she loves all the water sports. And is pretty decent at them, if she does say so herself.)
-She’s currently really into a few Earth sports right now too. Tennis, volleyball, and MMA.
-She’s also working on her leaf surfing skills and her abilities as a swordswoman. (She’s great at the agility part and keeping on her toes, but she still needs to work on her timing when attacking and trying to defend herself.)
-Layla discovered the pixies and befriended them before her lockdown happened. She’d been with her parents in Magix. They had been on an important meeting with the Council and she was supposed to be with her nanny/Fairy Godmother. But Layla wanted adventure and snuck off into the forest. She ended up running into Queen Ninfea and finding Pixie Village. (And meeting Piff.) Needless to say, she made friends for life.
-And Layla knew when the pixies went missing. She could feel something deep inside of her was wrong when she couldn’t connect to Piff and hadn’t heard from Chatta or Tune in a few days. (The pixies had been allowed to visit with her and write to her after her mother’s own pixie, Ariella, vouched that they were real pixies from Pixie Village and not some sort of imposters.)
-Anyway, Layla did what she usually did to escape from the Androsian Palace, leaving when the guards changed shifts and while her parents were busy holding court. From there she managed to get to Pixie Village and talk Ninfea into helping her create a teleportation spell into ShadowHaunt. (We all know what happened after.)
-Layla and her parents had a very long and awkward conversation after Layla woke up in good condition at Alfea. They had been so worried and had been so relieved that Faragonda had been the one to find and house their daughter… But after hearing what she’d gone through and how she managed to do so much and still survive… It made them realize that Layla is growing up and that she is a powerful and capable fairy. (Which is how she managed to convince them to let her stay at Alfea, though it didn’t hurt that she mentioned who her new friends were and who her friends’ parents were/are.)
-(Layla still has nightmares regarding ShadowHaunt and the pixies, but after the realm was returned to its true nature, the nightmares started dying down… Until Nabu almost died that is.)
-She used to be so against marriage because she knew about the whole ‘arranged marriage’ ideas her realm had. And when her parents tried to force her into one, it really struck a nerve because of the hypocrisy. After all, they chose their own partners, why couldn’t she?! (Which prompted another conversation with her parents. One that required both parties to open their minds and hearts.)
-(Thankfully, she and Nabu did end up choosing each other… Though she wishes her dad didn’t get along so well with Nabu and that her mother didn’t try to show him baby pictures of her. Honestly, the audacity of her parents.)
-Layla may like seafood (because seafood is a staple of Androsian society), but after being with the other Winx girls, she’s found she really loves the varieties of veggie meals from Linphea. Especially the wraps. (She threatened to marry Flora when the other girl introduced them to her. She was so in love.)
-She and Musa love to jam out together (especially since Layla got her drum set). They actually sound really lovely together and it gets even better when they can talk Tecna into joining in with her keyboard.
-Layla absolutely loves to ride the Sea Hodeaas her uncle Neptune and aunt Ligea have stabled up. It’s the best way to travel underwater and the animals are so majestic. (And yes, they are a breed of seahorse, but a seahorse mixed with those sea dragon things on earth. Just imagine that merger and imagine them to be the equivalent size of a normal horse. Just underwater.)
-No. Layla cannot talk to sea creatures. Not without a spell in place. Please stop asking. (Dammit if you want to talk to animals, Roxy is right fucking there.)
-Layla isn’t thin either. She’s muscular. And she looks fabulous in ballgowns. Eat shit haters.
-If Stella is the snacker of the group, Layla is the one always reminding people to stay hydrated and has like ten water bottles on her at any given time.
-Layla is the friend that if you wanna go do something potentially stupid just to see if you can do it, she’d be down for it. (Granted, she’ll tell you all the ways this could probably go wrong and you all end up dead, but she’s all for seeing what her body can handle. No, she’s not a masochist. She’s just curious.)
-She can sing. But she doesn’t do it often because if she hits a certain pitch, it could be almost… Hypnotic… (Which isn’t fun to explain.)
-Layla may wear heels to formal events, but she’d rather wear her sneakers or flip-flops any day of the week. Seriously, please just let her wear her comfy shit.
-We all know Layla is competitive in sports… She’s also competitive in video games and in board games. (The other girls have a constantly updating list of games Layla and Tecna are no longer allowed to play together.)
-Layla was the most excited about their Earth adventure to find Roxy. It gave her an excuse to be away from Andros for a bit and just be her. (That summer had been a bit, intense. As the Crown Princess and an adult, her parents had been bringing her in more and more on the business aspect of being a Princess.)
-(She loves her crown and her title, and she loves her people and her world… But sometimes it seems like an overwhelming job to be queen and she’s so terrified of doing something wrong that will endanger everyone she cares about or that she’ll end up accidentally offending an important socialite/delegate/ambassador.)
-Stella is good at the people-aspect of being a princess, so she’s been great at helping Layla get over her nerves on the subject and how to be herself while still being princess. And Layla has helped Stella better understand the more political/tactical portions of being a princess. (And together they’ve helped Bloom become more okay with being a princess.)
-Layla has her major fear of being alone and of failure (which we’ve seen when she gained her Charmix), but she has a few minor things… Like she’s a bit claustrophobic thanks to her time in ‘lockdown’ and she has a thing about being late to important events. She’s also working on her public speaking issues… It’s a work in progress.
-Her favorite classes in Alfea involved flying and physical education. Flying always made her feel free and graceful, and almost as powerful as if she were underwater. And the physical classes helped her get rid of her nearly endless energy.
-Layla is a bit hot-headed for an Androsian (who are known for being cool and go-with-the-flow), but she just feels things so deeply and it rocks her to core. (Part of it may be due to the pressures of being a princess and having to try and always do and say the right thing, part of it may be due to being watched so carefully as a child, but she just can’t let things go sometimes and rather than nurse a grudge, she’d rather just have it out and be done.)
-Her goal is to be a great queen when her time to rule comes. But she doesn’t want to necessarily be queen like her mother who tended to rule out of fear. (Layla gets why, she does. She’s met members of the Coven and knows why her mother and father were terrified, but she refuses to be someone who lets it make all of her decisions.) She’ll listen to her fears, sure, and try to rule accordingly, but she doesn’t ever want it to hinder her from making great decisions about Andros or her future children. (If she has any. She and Nabu are still trying to figure out if they want them or if they’d rather wait awhile and adopt.)
