Sooo I read your take on the bakugou vs uraraka in the sports festival. i personally agree that you’re right when it comes to bakugou being overpowered (like when he fought todoroki, his quirk shouldn’t have worked at all with all the ice) and the fact that the females here are underrated and are not written well enough. Also I hate that fan service scene with the cheerleading outfits. However when you called him entitled and said that the narrative is favoring him, i dont agree there. horikoshi has made it blatantly clear that he wrote bakugou with the intent of making fans hate him on purpose. It’s why he’s portrayed as such a asshole in the first place, then horikoshi proceeds to show us that bakugou has complexity later on. He basically wants to humiliate him and make him slowly see his errors, and then basically give him slow character development, which is apt for bakugou since he’s been like this for 15 years. Like you said, bakugou logically should have been tired out near ochako’s fight, owing to quirk weaknesses and all, but honestly, it would also be unlikely for bakugou-trained-since-the-minute-i-got-my-quirk to also lose to ochako, owing to the fact that she wasnt as experienced as him or as physically fit, also for her to win by fighting a “weak” bakugou would make fans claim sexism too due to the fact that he still had to be weak for her to win. Also having him win again would have the same issue. So I didnt mind bakugou winning, and appreciated that ochako did her utter best to do so and nearly won, which I felt was a realistic move by horikoshi to avoid as much as possible a sexist situation. Tho not gonna lie, why isnt there another female like bakugou or todoroki in this class? Makes me upset thinking about it but like you said, horikoshi cant write good female characters, so he does as much to avoid so.  Unlike miraculous ladybug which has so much crap going on with so called female strong leads and is slowly becoming so cringey to watch.
Horikoshi may claim he writes Bkugo for fans to hate him…But Bkugo is literally a fan favorite. He keeps getting top 3 in the popularity polls, if not outright winning them. 
Bkugo is Izuku’s childhood friend/rival, making him a core part of the series. He’s inescapable if you consume the media (manga, anime, promo materials). He’s presented as an equal to Izuku, and yet never once actually respects Izuku as a person. But Izuku keeps making excuses for him, as do the other characters, painting him in a better light than what’s actually shown.
Bkugo keeps having very small glimmers of moments where it seems like he’s learning from his mistakes. But then he goes right back to square one.

During the license exam, he storms off on his own because of his belief he’s better by himself. He ends up having a plan to work with Kaminari and Kirishima, but only because they followed him and put themselves in a dangerous situation alongside him. Then during the last phase of the exam, he tries to take things on his own again, which results in him not getting his license. 
Which is a great moment, it seems like he’s getting actual development here! He has to work on remedial exams, puts some ounce of teamwork into getting his license…but it’s all for his own benefit. Everyone praises him over out of their asses over how he’s changed during the training with 1-B, but he still treats everyone like shit. He just sees the benefit of using people on his teams to help him instead of tearing them all down, because he can’t win if he does that. 
He still makes everything about himself. Even when something doesn’t revolve around him, he keeps inserting himself into the narrative. He forces more of Izuku’s secrets from him, forces himself to be there when Izuku talks to All Might about One For All, not for Izuku’s benefit, but because he feels entitled to know about Izuku’s quirk. Even during a discussion which should center around Izuku asking questions and finding out more about his legacy and quirk, Bkugo takes the reigns and takes nearly all agency away from Izuku.
As for the Sports Festival, Bkugo would get more humbled by losing. It would show both Bkugo and the viewers that not just offense-based Quirks (or the male characters) are capable of winning fights. Things like planning and pacing yourself can help just as much. Which would tie into Izuku not knowing how to control OFA during that stage as well, using his mind and ingenuity to get himself to the Third Round without needing his Quirk. It would’ve worked really well narratively! And tied things together!
It also would’ve provided more tension for Bkugo if he’d lost the Sports Festival. When he’s kidnapped, the LOV could’ve used that loss in order to entice him to join them. The only reason he didnt join was because he thought they were ‘losers’, both because All Might stopped the USJ attack and Bkugo has a strong quirk that won him the Sports Festival. If he’d lost, he’d be vulnerable and have had do show some struggle over whether he was going to take up their offer, and gotten some character growth from that. Because he’s cocky and strong, we already know from the beginning he isn’t going to actually accept their offer in canon.
As for Horikoshi’s lack of female characters–especially those that actually battle or do anything significant to the plot–I’m not 100% surprised. Shonen anime in general has a bad track record of writing female characters, if they’re included at all in the narrative. 
My problem is that Horikoshi has a decent cast of female characters with unique powers, and he goes out of his way to sexualize them and make them damsels/nearly useless in fights and scenes that actually further the plot. Just. Goddamn, let the female characters actually do something instead of standing around being support for the male characters, or having catfights with female villains (ala Ochaco with Toga). 
Even Ochaco, the main female character of the series, barely gets any development other than “struggling with crush on Izuku” and “I saw someone die and don’t want that to happen again”. Izuku, Shoto, and Bkugo get entire character arcs and countless chapters devoted to them, and we only get a few pages for Ochaco, if we’re lucky.
Miraculous Ladybug is another beast entirely ngl. I’m not going to touch that for now.

you know what i could go for?? [late night ramble journey ahead // i did not re-read this so who knows!!]
an in-depth fic about klaus’s ten months in vietnam.. but with ben there. klaus getting pants and a gun shoved at him and ben is just as confused and freaked out. klaus finding out where they are, or ben finding out and telling him. klaus meeting dave and ben is sitting next to him, side eyeing dave because who is this soldier and why did he come all the way from the back of the bus to introduce himself. ben sees it / can tell when klaus shoves the briefcase under their seat right after and ben’s just like ‘are you fucking kidding me??’ and of course klaus would make stupid decisions because of an attractive man with a sweet smile. so he’s exasperated but also concerned because it’s 1968 and people like klaus are treated even worse now than they are in 2019, way worse, and all of these men are probably straight - dave included. and if any of them are gay they’re not gonna say anything let alone act on it. it wouldn’t be worth it. klaus could get himself hurt or killed just for being himself, if he acts too.. well.. himself after that he stays by klaus’s side more than he did in their own time, which is really saying something. offers advice and wisdom like he always has. he warns him about snipers and mines and bullets and in turn klaus warns his squad. ben can’t lie - it feels pretty fucking good to be responsible for saving lives without having to take any. he still wishes klaus would just try the briefcase, he has it, but at some point he stops pushing. because he does think klaus needs to go back and soon but everytime he brings it up klaus gets defensive and angry - he can do what he wants. he has friends here now. he has a family that actually likes him. that actually cares. he’s considered useful and important and he’s on drugs!! he can get high and none of them think any less of him for it. why can’t ben see that maybe this is where he belongs?? maybe the middle of the fucking vietnam war is where he fits?? and it’s not like he has anyone or anything back home. the only thing he could have missed is ben and ben’s with him in 1968 so there’s literally nothing. and ben wants to yell back, he wants to argue that there’s plenty for klaus to go back to, but he’s realizing that klaus.. might be right. and that hurts. and of course pisses ben off but it hurts because nobody should have to travel back in time and fight in a pointless war to find basic respect, especially not klaus. klaus who has been through enough - who deserves good things more than anyone ben knows. so after that conversation he doesn’t bring it up anymore. he looks at it sometimes, and thinks about their siblings, how they just gained their missing brother only to lose another, how are they doing? have they noticed klaus is missing yet? did they see the motel room?? did they know that all of that blood was klaus’s?? (shh patch didn’t die, hazel and cha cha escaped by knocking her out but she lives because i said so. diego shows up and finds her, freaks out at first but is relieved that she’s fine. he manages to get her to wake up and she tells him that klaus was there. he was hurt, very very hurt, but he got away. she doesn’t know where he went, he crawled through the vent, and he’s gone, diego. you need to find him - he needs a hospital. ahem anyway) ben thinks on these things and it never takes him long to get disgusted looking at it because it contains, in a way, their family. and he thinks he knows the answers. he gets to a point where he decides he wouldn’t be upset if they never had to see those jackasses again. his loyalties lie with klaus, after 13 years together there’s no way they wouldnt be. and if doing what’s best for klaus, doing what makes klaus happy, is staying right where they’ve found themselves than he can deal with it. that’s where he ends up anyway but its definitely not a quick or easy point to reach. he’s there for every battle, all the days of marching, watching klaus kill people and knowing how badly it’s affecting his brother and yet he doesn’t stop. he doesn’t pull back without orders, doesn’t put his gun down until he knows his squad is safe. and that fierceness grows as he gets closer to dave. ben doesn’t know what to think of dave at first, probably doesn’t trust him - knowing every man klaus has ever found attractive or had a “relationship” with before - but ben literally watches this - admittedly handsome - soldier boy fall in love with klaus, and klaus with him. ben witnesses the disco. the private conversation - from a distance, he’s doesn’t feel quite right listening in and he can still see them. the way they look at each other. how gently dave approaches every moment with klaus - the hand on his cheek, their first kiss (which he WILL tease klaus about later) when they head back to the hotel that was booked for all the guys for r&r, ben decides to wander saigon instead because he’s pretty sure he knows where things are going to go considering klaus and dave are roommates (oh my god they were roommates) by the time he gets back they’re both passed out (in the same bed. as he expected) from that day forward klaus is happy, genuinely happy in a way ben can’t remember him ever being, and dave has of course gained ben’s full approval (especially when klaus tells dave about the ghosts and dave believes him. even turns to where klaus is pointing at ben and tells ben that he’s happy that klaus has at least one good sibling, that he’s happy to know ben is there. when dave knows ben is there he always greets him. it’s not anything that grand really but it means a lot to ben. and when klaus finally tells him about the time travel, a little later on, dave believes him then too. said it made sense because he always thought there was no way someone as incredible as klaus could’ve come from the same place as he himself - let alone the same time. it never seemed to.. fit) SO ben is a fan. and he stays by both their sides - keeping them alive as best he can - along with a few other ghosts who are coherent, previous members of the 173rd, who pass things on to ben when klaus is too high. they talk, as long as no one but dave is around - dave who adapts pretty easily to klaus holding a whole conversation with someone he can’t see or hear. and ben.. stays ben. the only thing being in the war really changes is the way he views their siblings and he now has one other live person that he can “talk” to. eventually, almost 11 months in, they find out they’re getting sent to the frontlines. even closer to the danger. and klaus has a bad feeling. this is when ben brings up the briefcase again, hesitantly, and before klaus goes off reminds him that they could take dave with them. if he wanted to go. klaus can return to their time, to relative safety, and still have dave. it’s no longer a ‘one or the other’ situation. all they have to do is get dave to say ‘yes’. he says it very quickly of course (if you think i’d let dave die you’re out of your goddamn mind) he can be tough and feral when he needs to be, when pushed if klaus is in danger but he isn’t a killer, he doesn’t want to be a killer, he wants out. but he also wants a life with klaus and while they talked about going back to the states in.. well.. dave’s time and getting a little house and all that - doing that in 2019 sounds much better. especially after the night klaus told him softly about how things were different for lgbtq+ people, how they could hold hands and be as out as they wanted. get married. adopt. all things dave spent his whole life believing he’d never be allowed to have. so they do it - right then. klaus pulls out the briefcase and they gather the few things they wanted to keep and in a bright light they’re gone. (maybe they said something, or goodbye, to each squadmate before leaving. maybe they didnt and it hurt but if they waited around to get through everyone it would be too late to run) AND OH!! they take the ghost soldiers with them / the ghost soldiers find them in 2019, because i’m a slut for klaus having good ghosts, friend ghosts, who - even if they died horribly, are still the same person they were alive. and maybe sometimes they look like their deaths and sometimes they can look normal - ben teaching the soldiers how to be ghosts?? including how to appear as you were; whole, no holes or blood or missing limbs or chunks of head blown off. they’re all grateful and so is klaus. tho listen: he still gets high because i fucking said so - however, at least until the world is saved, he sticks to cigarettes and - for sleeping purposes - pot, dave does as well. because dave isnt a square. maybe he sticks to that path afterwards. maybe not. i for one support everything except 100% sobriety 100% of the time in this instance  anyway: later on when klaus can make ben corporeal for any amount of time he wants ben tells their siblings about the real life romantic drama he got to watch close up, from their first meeting all the way to the return to 2019. he also mentions a lot of things about the war, the sights and sounds of senseless murder - something their brother and his boyfriend were forced to take part in - the wounds they had to deal with, heal through. klaus and dave definitely have some scars. the fear. and that’s after telling them about hazel and cha cha and the almost two days they had klaus and nobody noticed. (maybe klaus lets his siblings meet the other soldiers, maybe not. maybe he lets them wander the mansion corporeal to scare the shit out of people. who knows) ben wants to make their siblings feel bad. he wants them to hurt and feel guilty. it’s the very least they deserve he thinks, when it’s all said and done. he hasn’t been able to say anything to them for 13 years and he’s got a lot of things built up - but gotta say, the last year (five-ish days?? starting at ep.1) have really taken the whole goddamn cake. klaus is embarrassed and shocked and actually quite touched that little benny is really going feral for the first time - though he keeps trying to tell him none of it is a big deal. he doesnt like confrontation. dave however is extremely pleased by the whole thing. klaus kept saying he and ben would get along if they ever got to meet and he was right. ben had, with a serious face, dubbed them the klaus hargreeves love & protection squad (bc dave doesnt know what the fuck even a ‘meem’ is yet) and that’s that. they make up a handshake and everything. klaus has never felt so loved. 
aaand eventually klaus and dave and ben (because of course he’s invited) do get that little house away from the city - someplace with few to no ghosts. someplace they can make their home. they make sure it has a room they can make up for ben even though he doesnt sleep (he still deserves his own space. a place to get away from them if he wants. somewhere to put his books and such. ben doesnt get emotional about that at all. absolutely not.) and they get pets and klaus gardens and ben reads books about gardening so he can help and dave works (mechanic is always a good time. or bookstore owner!! coffee shop?? listen. those may or may not be my favorite aus) and maybe the siblings get to visit and maybe they mend things and bond or whatever idk THE POINT IS:: Ben is a good brother and i think the idea of him going through vietnam with klaus is interesting and if someone with more ideas/thoughts ever wrote this i would be on that like cheese on broccoli honestly. THE SECOND POINT IS:: Klaus and Dave deserve to be happy and have the life they dreamed about together and if they shared their home with anyone it would be the Bentacles SO… OKAY…  that definitely did it’s own thing but i really really genuinely love thinking about what those months would have been like with ben there - what he would have thought or said or done about things yknow?? and how that would have affected klaus/changed things. i didnt give a lot of examples in this because my brain didn’t want to stay on track (as if it ever does) but it’s 1:30 in the morning and im so fucking tired lsdfd;lk if you actually read this.. first of all: im sorry. second of all: thank you. and literally if anyone ever wrote something about this topic (not like.. this post specifically, just the ben in vietnam plot) and nobody important dies i’ll love you and give you a lil smooch on the noggin  s m ooch. smooches. you know who likes smooches?? klaus. you know who deserves smooches?? klaus. you know who’s getting smooches?? THAT’S RIGHT. KLAUS. because dave has a degree in giving them and he can’t let that education go to waste amiright??

Summary - Sam and Dean were raised drifting from town to town, left to their own devices regularly by their father who left them to hunt and kill monsters. Little did he know that he was raising two monsters himself. In his own way, Sam is in love with his brother, who has his own ways of dealing with their life. John starts to act suspicious of Sam, but Sam isn’t about to let anything come between his brother and him, not even their own, worthless, father.

“Mmm, yes, Dean. Yes!” the slut screamed from the other side of the door.
Dean had kicked Sam out about forty-five minutes ago so he could ride their current town's bicycle. Sam had brought his science book outside with him to work on his homework, but he didn't make it past their motel room's window before he stopped and sat down. As jealous as he was of all the girls Dean fucked, he could never pass up an opportunity to hear the moans and grunts of his big brother as he came inside of them. Sam was a romantic like that.
Dean was his first kiss, for educational purposes only, of course. Dean was the first one, other than himself, to jerk him off. As far as Sam was concerned, Dean really was the only one. The only one that mattered anyway.
Their father had started to get suspicious of their time spent alone together. Maybe he had caught Sam staring one too many times as Dean would be getting dressed after a shower, or maybe he had woken up to Sam wrapped around Dean as they slept. None of that bothered Sam, but the way their dad would fight with him was becoming an issue.
Dean, ever the obedient little soldier-boy, would do whatever it took to appease the man, but would try to keep them from fighting. Sam was never quite able to put anything before his brother, which had grown to include their predominantly absentee father.
“Sam's old enough to stay on his own now; you should be coming with me. Help me on this hunt.” John had been looking directly at Sam the entire time he was talking to Dean.
“Dad, he's still in school, people will notice if he's living by himself in a motel room,” Dean had argued.
John had only glanced at Dean before fixing his gaze back on Sam. Sam gave as good as he got, his glare never wavering, nor the smirk that accompanied it.
“It's just a salt and burn, you don't need me anyways,” Dean had added in an attempt to break the mounting tension in the room.
John couldn't argue that, so he placed his hand on Dean's shoulder and looked him straight in the eye as he delivered his warning, “Watch out for Sammy.” Then he was gone.
That had been two days ago. Dean had been a little more distant than usual with Sam after their dad left this time. He slept in the other bed, closed the door to a crack when he showered, and didn't hack the TV to pick up porn their first night alone like he typically did. Their dad had put a rift between them; Sam had to fix it before it was too late and he lost Dean for good.
The sound of choking called Sam's attention back into the room and his dick stood at attention as he strained to hear the struggle he knew was going on. The scrape of nails on the cheap motel sheets, the soft drumming of fists on hard, toned skin, the final grunt of Dean's orgasm, and finally, the limp thump of a lifeless arm on the mattress.
Knowing it was safe for him to reenter the room, Sam folded his papers and pencil into his book and stood. Before he could open the door he heard the water running, then the unmistakable sound of the Impala down the street.
Sam burst into the hotel room, holding back his scream, “Dean!”
“Sammy, what the-” he stopped himself, listening.
“Dad,” Sam hissed, turning to the bed to find the bicycle laying haphazardly across the mattress, arms splayed out, legs still spread open. “Dammit, Dean.”
Dean's face went chalk-white as he stared at Sam, eyes as wide as saucers. “Fuck, Sammy.” He ran his fingers through his hair and looked at the girl's body. “Fuck!”
The Impala pulled into the parking lot and Sam sprung into action. He ran to the bed, picking the slut's clothes up as he went, throwing them on top of the girl before pulling the discarded comforter over her and turning her head on the pillow; she could be sleeping.
Dean's eyes looked like his heart was going to break, just like his voice did, “Sammy.”
There wasn't time for anything else as the motel room door swung open and their father stepped in. Dean stood ramrod straight, wide eyes glued to his commander. Sam had taken a seat in one of the chairs at the table and opened his book back up to where his homework was still waiting to be finished.
John's eyes scanned the room and landed on the girl tucked into his own bed. “You boys have a party while I was out?” He leveled his gaze on Dean.
Dean tried for a guilty grin, but failed miserably. “I met her down playing pool last night.” Truth, “We didn't get a lot of sleep; I didn't have the heart to wake her up.” Lie.
“Yeah, well, you should know better than to do that sort of shit with Sammy around.” John took a step toward the bed and Dean shot a panicked look to Sam.
“I'm sixteen, not twelve. It's not like I've never seen boobs before,” Sam sneered, succeeding in drawing their father’s attention away from the fresh corpse.  
“That's not the point.” John's voice was hard, and his eyes dangerous when they turned on Sam.
“Dad,” Dean interjected, as always trying to take the brunt away from Sam, which unfortunately, was becoming a regular occurrence.
“What are you even doing here, need a shower before you hit the bar?” Sam was seething, matching John's tone.
“You watch your mouth, son,” John yelled. He jerked as if he'd done something wrong, then turned to look at the girl.
Sam winced, knowing that anyone would have stirred at their outbursts, drunken slut or not. The girl remained unmoving. Dean took a step forward when John reached out to put his hand on the girl's shoulder.
He barely laid his hand on her when he knew that she was gone and jerked it back. He looked to Sam and then launched himself at Dean. “How could you do this?” Sam heard the crunch of bone as John's fist made contact with Dean's face.
“Dad!” Sam yelled from the other side of the room.
“You fucking killed her! Sammy's here!” Punch after punch landed on Dean's bloody swollen face as John pummeled him.
Dean wasn't even trying to fight back, and Sam couldn't take anymore. He dug through his father's army duffel and pulled out his own handgun. It had been his birthday gift that year, but John didn't trust him to keep it himself. The metal was cold in his hand, and the white marble handle shone in the little sunlight that was streaming in through the tacky motel curtain. With practiced hands he checked the cartridge, cocked the barrel, and took aim.
“Stop!” His voice was steady, and he had thankfully not cracked when he said it; his voice still in the process of maturing.
John stopped mid-swing, turning his head to see the gun aimed at him, and let go of Dean. Sam spared a quick glance as he watched his brother slump to the ground, spitting blood from his busted-open lips.
John turned slowly with his palms up, facing Sam. “Now, Sammy.”
“Don't placate me!” Sam's voice was full of rage, but his hands were steady and his aim was true.
“Just think about what your doing, son.”
Dean groaned from his place on the floor as he tried to crawl away. Sam had never seen his big brother afraid of anything in his life. That alone was enough to set Sam's resolve.
“We're in a small room in a crowded motel. Even if you did shoot me, where could you go? What would you do?”
“Sa-my” Dean coughed, his eyes were pleading, probably for him to not shoot.
Sam kept his eyes on his father and the gun aimed while he reached over and grabbed the pillow out from under the slut's head. He doubled it over and held it in front of the gun. “We're gonna salt and burn your bones.”
Then, just as John lurched forward, Sam squeezed the trigger, just like his late father had taught him.

The Mirror, Object of the Oceanic Truth
Finally, clarity. I give to you this rather impromptu collection of my understanding of the Mirror, a fundamental concept in both Bloodborne lore and in Oceanic spirituality, or Bloodborne-based PC paganism, at least in my own opinion. 
Two notes before beginning: 1- Capitalised words refer to encompassing concepts, that is to say, for example, the Eye is both the eye as an idea representing ascension, the Truth, the Great Ones - or whatever it may mean to you - and the physical eye itself as ‘one’ thing.  2- The terms “reality”, “self”, and so on are purposely left vague. There are too many ideas based on spirituality and culture and such to include them all, but an intuitive, seemingly-mutual understanding of the word in different contexts works fine.
   Introduction
The Mirror (one of what I have labelled the “three understandings” of Nightmares; a manifestation of Nightmarish speak; a tool of ascension) is perhaps one of the most potent concepts in Nightmarish symbolism. By that, I mean it is a potent physical Key and Nightmarish word, even more so than the Eye, arguably, which is another potent symbol. I would almost say the eye is akin to a loanword or calque-esque translation, though the exact language of origin of that ‘word’ is as debatable as the question of what race first spoke it, where the Mirror is seemingly drawn directly from the Nightmares. Regardless, the eye is a ‘Key’ to the ‘Gate’ of the Truth primarily and a Gate secondarily, whereas the Mirror is more so a Gate while also being a Key.. Both require the metaphorical turning in the lock in the right direction, but one can gain eyes without ascending, whereas it would be rather strange to wander through a mirror without ascension. Similar, very similar; I suppose I can best put it this way: In a world where symbols are the building blocks of reality, the Eye is a symbol of the Truth in the human mind amongst other things, and its potency was bestowed upon it, whereas the Mirror is a deep symbol of everything the Eye represents and is the Eye itself, and more, with its potency great and inherent. The Eye is an image of the Mirror. 
The Mirror can also be seen as an idol of the overarching Nightmare itself, and it becomes especially potent in Oceanic spirituality - that is to say to PC Pagans involved in the world from Earth - as a symbol of the entire Ocean itself.
Now is as appropriate a time as ever to mention this: As time passes, I grow more and more suspicious of the origins of FromSoftware’s creativity in regards to the profoundly complex spiritual webs woven in Nightmarish spirituality and cosmology. Not to say the Ocean - specifically the astral version - existed first, and especially not to discredit the inherent abilities of the developers in developing games, but it is to say that there is something awfully transcendental written in the code of the game, something that continues to unravel rather beautifully as one digs deeper, and deeper, like sacred geometry. 
To finish this introductory part: the Mirror’s symbolism is both directly understandable and translatable, and completely intuitive and unspeakable. I believe that latter part is what I was struggling with. One can stand in front of a mirror all they like and try to reason the glass away, but it takes the subconscious, detached acceptance to step through it without caution. Two sides of the brain, two sides of the mirror, two sides of learned knowledge and the abstract state of understanding. 
   Translations
The Mirror consists of three base things: The truth or reality, the lens or medium, and the lie or unreality. There would be no mirror without reality to reflect, hence why it is included in the concept of the Mirror. These three things change depending on what the mirror represents in each particular form, though as the Mirror as a whole, it is all of these forms and things - and specifically the relationship between those things - simultaneously.  
Some of the translations for “mirror” and its parts are direct comparisons, some are metaphorical, and some involve distortion; after all, not all mirrors in reality are clear and polished, some are twisted, some are even simply pools of dark water, and so on. To give but a few examples for translations of the Nightmarish ‘mirror’..
To note: these are pulled fresh from intuitive understanding. They may not necessarily be the best explanations (nor necessarily in the right order, not to mention necessarily correct), so please feel free to come to your own conclusions. I provide these more as an explanation of the Mirror, not as inherently viable translations. Also, some of these are quite similar, but the distinction is, in my opinion, worth noting.
(reality/light  -  glass, metal  -  image)
‘Human’ Reality: ‘Objective’ reality  -  the senses, the self, so on (glass), the brain (metal)  -  subjective/perceived reality Nightmares seem to be of Pthumerians and.. Smaller humans, but also of the Great Ones, and perhaps of beasts and such. “‘Human’” simply simplifies “conscious beings above a certain perceived level of awareness or “thinking” into one neat word. “’Human’ reality” is memories, emotions, as well as impacts on creatures and on the land, and likely the swelling of spiritual energy at different points of time and space in the ‘objective’ reality. Its importance solidifying it as a form of the Mirror comes directly from its importance to the creation of Nightmares.
The Formed Nightmares: Reality, the already formed (Earth; Pthumerian cities; so on)  -  the dreaming body/mind (the glass, that through which it is seen), the Unformed Nightmare (the metal upon which the image is formed)  -  the Nightmares (the formed image) Nightmares are directly distorted reflections of reality, and, in this case, ‘reality’ is seemingly the aforementioned “Human Reality”, which is a Mirror in itself - the ‘joining’ of subjective and objective reality through the medium of the ‘human’ self. It may be the individual Nightmare’s consciousness talking/creating its own reality, but they tend to focus on ‘human’ reality regardless.  Alternatively: Reality  -  the Nightmare’s consciousness (the glass, which distorts), the Unformed Nightmare (the metal upon which the image is formed)  -  the physical Nightmares (the formed image) In terms of lore, there isn’t an awful lot to back up the idea of the Nightmares being individual consciousnesses as well as planes, and so if one does not believe it then it is ‘human’ reality which defines a Nightmare.
The Ocean: Earth (reality) - Bloodborne (a distorted lens, the manner/metal through which Earth concepts are reflected) (it is also a product of light, the Moon, through glass, and sound, Lord Oedon, through metal) - the Ocean (the unreality based on Earth, which was distorted through the game) Alternatively, depending on what you believe came first, or for fun: The Ocean (the truth) - Earth (the medium through which Bloodborne was made) - Bloodborne (the false image of the Ocean)
The Eye, Symbolic: The external world  -  the lens, the retina  -  the vision Self-explanatory for the most part, I only add that it is a known symbol of the Cosmos. 
The Eye, Truth: The self  -  Internal Eyes (medium)  -  the Nightmares This works both as written and inverted (the Nightmares - Internal Eyes - the self). It is also less literal as it is a translation of the Truth, and one of the more difficult concepts to put into writing, which I can tell you is certainly saying something. Eyes are a means to heightening ‘vision’ - they allow one to ‘see’ more of their surroundings. They allow one to see more of themselves, or of reality itself, they allow a clearer connection between the two. However, ascension through the internal eye requires a sort of liquefying or dissolution of the glass, which is to say it requires that internal eyes are not only connected to the entity but to reality itself. The internal eye cannot be utilised if it does not connect to reality, as ascension and the Truth require a connection. This would have the wondrously fun side effect of, if spoken in Nightmarish/manifested ‘literally’ in the Nightmare, enabling someone to walk freely through a mirror, especially as an acknowledgement of communion with the overarching Nightmare.
   Conclusions, End
How does one use a mirror? As it has always been used, to examine the self. 
The key is knowledge, just like with eyes; of course, though the Nightmares know, and they remember, without knowledge there is no point. An eye is but an eye without the ability to understand. You need only look at the Boars within the Nightmare of Mensis, the Gardens of Eyes, or even the counter of Insight within the Hunter to see that inherently, there is nothing in them that will push you violently towards ascension. The latter example in the Hunters, however, shows the Nightmares’ knowing in how they react to the Insight, the exact ways in which they do so, though, are speculation for elsewhere. All this is to say: eyes are made into Keys, and symbolism in a Nightmare is of the deepest importance; symbolism is words and words are what the Nightmares are symbolically made of. When we write “eyes on the brain” we say “connection to the Dream”, when we write it phonetically with nary a clue as to what we mean, though the Nightmares may gather what we are trying to say, it comes out a jumbled mess. Mirrors are likely not too far from this, but they do not only enable communion, they also inspire knowledge. They come from a profound calling within humans, the very thing that pushes us to ascend: the desire to know ourselves, our place in the world, who and what we are. The seeking of Truth is not a thing of rich scholars with too much time on their hands, it is inherent within us all. This is the Truth: The world is a great, liquid Dream, and we are the dreamers. That turning of the Key inside the Gate - that ‘click’ of sudden understanding - brings forth Lucidity, apotheosis, ascent to the next plane of thought, and godhood over the world to which we are now deeply connected.
Knowledge is the key. Specifically, knowledge of the self and the external reality are the keys to the Truth - not Keys, but that which is essential in the unlocking of the Gate. Where connecting them together, like fusing the eye (signifying the Cosmos) and the brain (signifying the self) is the connecting of the Key to the Gate, knowledge is what enables us to turn the key. Without knowledge, without understanding, the Key and the Gate are but two strange and foreign metal objects with nary a thing in common, excluding the obscure hint in the shape of the lock. 
There is a key in the Nightmare of Mensis, and an out-of-place gateway to a brain covered in eyes, ascended artificially by the School seeking the Celestial Mirror. Three by two, the number of the Cage, holding the Brain within it: a perfect frame for a perfect Mirror, just outside a winding labyrinth of a library, the most human idol of knowledge.

what is a mogai phase?
a lot of lgbt people, especially younger people, have all these very specific labels presented to them and to a lot of them (me included) what that actually does is push them away from analyzing what they actually feel and it encourages people to embrace their internalized issues rather than figuring them out. the split attraction model (meaning, sexual orientation and romantic orientation being two distinct things) being pushed as a default that everyone experiences rather than something thats only really useful for ace and aro people also contributes to this. and people generally hate being told that, because they see this stuff the same way someone saying “it’s just a phase / you’re just confused / etc” when talking about these things really does not serve the same purpose as those bigoted statements do. anyways a ‘mogai phase’ refers to that time where you were just accepting these labels to fit your issues (and with how many there are there’s Always going to be one that fits) rather than figuring them out
im going to use myself as an example, and it got kind of long so im gonna put it in a read more but just, situations like mine have happened to a lot of other people, just go through the notes on that post and see for yourself. this isn’t gatekeeping or label policing or whatever else people like to call it, this actively hurts lgbt people and makes them internalize a lot of issues, sometimes including sexual trauma. 
 anyway like i said, my personal experience with it:
i used to think that it was ok and normal that despite the fact that i was only Really attracted to boys, to still date people of other genders even though it didn’t really feel Right. instead of considering that i was avoiding the ‘gay boy’ label for myself out of fear of judgement because im trans and so people would see me as really just a straight girl whos a tomboy, and that that meant that maybe my identifying as bi in the past was a lie and that i’d been considering myself part of the community longer than i should have or whatever, and other such nonsense, i just embraced it as something that was part of me. because people were so hellbent on pushing that it was okay to have your “romantic” and “sexual” attractions not overlap. 
the truth is, i dont experience those two as separate things at all. i forced myself to stay in relationships i shouldnt have been in because i thought it was just the fact that my attractions were different. and that forcing lead to me not being emotionally invested and feel awkward and uncomfortable in those relationships and it lead me to think i was aro because i didnt feel the way i thought you were supposed to feel in a relationship. this isnt at all to say that NO ONE is really aro and that they just havent had the right type of relationship or whatever, im talking about my specific circumstances.

Bwoop! Cathedral tower defense ideas! Havent really made much damn progress on this game since I havent got a design for the protagonist yet, but at least now I have designs for two of the party members. (Thanks @summon-daze!) So for now lets just have some rambling ideas for potential sidequests you could have with these two!
BRIEF SUMMARY TIME Amity: Protagonist. A gruff and badass wandering priestess whose homeland was destroyed in the war. Now she’s joined another church in a foreign land and is dertermined to defend it against the demons, and never let that tragedy happen again! But she has to win the trust of these strangers first, and teach them how to survive... Florin: First and only party member you begin with at the start, deuterogonist, cute sidekick of sass and pep. He’s a plant type demon who’s haunting Amity for reasons unknown, and refuses to leave! Now she’s stuck trying to get rid of him, while he insists on being annoyingly helpful yet comically lazy at the same time. Also, as an incidental fact, he suffers from narcolepsy. Malachi: Optional party member, and the only other demon in the cast. An adorable little choir boy who doesn’t seem entirely aware that he’s become a demon. It’d be cruel to judge him the same as the others, we need to keep him safe! He’s quiet and cuddly and comically oblivious. What do you mean humans don’t enjoy eating rocks??
THUS, SIDEQUEST IDEAS
* Multiple different attempts to get rid of Florin, which all inevitably fail and end up causing him and Amity to become closer buddies. TFW you try to exorcise a guy and end up frolicking through the fields of friendship~! * Similarly, it could be fun to have some silly plans to trick him into being less lazy. Predictably the answer is just gonna be ‘when you’re nicer to him, he actually wants to put in the effort’, but that doesnt mean we cant have some fun shenanigans in the process! * Amity sneaking around trying to spy on Florin and find him doing something evil. He’s GOT to be here to pull off some ultimate plot, right?? Lol, 90% of their friendship is just Amity being suspicious as heck and Florin rudely persisting in being harmless. * A plot where somehow they actually do get separated, and Amity begins to realise how helpful her lil demon sidekick has actually become, and how much she genuinely appreciates him as a friend. Could possibly be that instead of being gone, Florin is ill with some sort of demon sickness and you need to go on a grand quest to save him? or maybe he’s been kidnapped by a villain who wants to use his powers for nefarious purposes, and accuses you of doing the same thing because why on earth else would you pretend to care about this monster? (And then when you rescue him you can have the grumpy excuse that of course you only did it because he’d be dangerous as anyone else’s sidekick. No affection was involved at all!!) * Mysterious flowers are appearing around the cathedral, and Amity starts to suspect that Florin is setting up some sort of evil demon plan. But she actually discovers that this is a sign of how much he’s genuinely begun caring about the other npcs, he’s been paying attention to their troubles and secretly giving them the flowers he thinks they’d most like, without wanting to take any credit for it. So you get a sassy friendship scene of Amity blackmailing him by threatening to reveal he’s been being nice! Thus florin gains the bonus skill of opening a little flower store. (And blushing himself to death every time anyone says thank you) * A conflict between Amity and Florin, where she accuses him of just being lazy as always, but this time he really was trying! He started off not caring about anyone, and only working when it benefitted him, but now he’s working his butt off and has become really self-concious about the fact he’s not really able to keep up with the rest of the party. And so he ends up talking about his narcolepsy problem with her, and if they have enough friendship points she starts being more considerate and trying to help him out with it. And maybe unlocks a longer quest chain of improving the home base’s medical facilities? * Florin hibernates in winter, everyone has to cope without him and realises how much they miss him. Like a repeat of the earlier quest where he’s kidnapped, but this is a new perspective on how Amity feels about it now they’ve been close friends for a while. And also how everyone else around the church feels. Maybe a plot of them all deciding to write down letters for him to read when he wakes up? And maybe tensions getting high when some sort of disaster happens, and Amity is like ‘oh god i dont want to have to tell Florin that this place fell apart without him’. (With it being up to player choice whether you include the bad points in the letter, or try and hide it from him.) * A potential bad ending for Florin, and how things continue afterwards. I think he’d be one of the characters who (initially at least) doesnt die when defeated in battle. If he’s taken out, he’s just near-mortally wounded and recovers after a very tense period where he’s in a coma. And then the plot explores everyone’s feelings at almost losing him, and his own feelings of uselessness now he’s too injured to go back to the fight. And because malachi can become like an adoptive brother to florin, they can still have a happy ending together even if florin has been removed from the party like this. He retires to take care of his lil bro full time, and he doesnt worry about feeling useless when he knows he’s got someone who thinks the world of him. And Malachi can inherit some of his skills and equipment since now Florin can devote all his time to tutoring him into taking up his former place in the army. * Oh, and of course Malachi’s recruitment sidequest! You’d first encounter him as a feral rock beast in a dungeon somewhere, and there’s a conflict between Amity and Florin because she believes this thing needs to be destroyed and he insists that they can redeem it. He can sense it’s a demon, and its got to be corrupted if it’s going wild like this! But Amity believes that demons are inherantly evil, so this one’s behaviour isnt unusual like florin thinks. She’s aknowledged that florin isn’t evil, but she still feels he’s an exception amoung demons! But eventually she’s convinced to take a chance on florin’s convictions, because its rare for him to be so un-lazy about something, and to defend something even at the risk of his own life. So they manage to find a way to purify the monster, and find out that it was a very young child, underneath all that scary rock armour. So if they’d slain it without a second thought, they would have committed an unforgiveable sin... * Malachi’s next sidequest would be convincing him to leave the ruins and come home with them, while exploring the dungeon to try and find out what exactly happened to turn such a sweet kid into a demon. (Not to mention the fact he was absolutely crazed with corruption!) I don’t wanna spoil the ending to this, but I have a lot of Sad Ideas for this charrie, hee hee~ * A potential plotline that once Malachi joins the church base, he could have trouble making friends with the normal human children. I Had an idea of a bully character who’d get redeemed and ultimately become accepted as his friend after a big ol sad apology scene, and then they become this misfit buddies duo. And the ostracization from the other kids doesnt hurt as much when he’s got this tough former-bully lady defending him against her former-comrades. * And he also grows closer to Florin as theyre the only two demons, and florin was the one who saved him. Plus they both enjoy sitting buried in the flowerbed and eating dirt! I think the relationship wouldnt start off this close though, Mal would initially be scared of Florin. Since he doesnt know that he himself is a demon, he just thinks florin is the only demon and he has much the same fears as Amity once had when the story began. But it could be more comical, because its inherantly silly when you have this kid with giant horns yelling ‘ITS A DEMON’ and hiding behind the couch XD And eventually he does grow to love florin like a parent, but he’s still comically oblivious. He just decides that florin ISNT a demon, of course! He’s just... a little more green than other people!! * Possibly a plot of everyone holding a funeral for malachi to cheer him up, since he never had one when he died as a human. But since malachi doesnt comprehend the whole concept, he’s just like ‘when normal people get put in the ground they sleep forever, why did i wake up? is it because i never got tucked in like they did?’ And then it could be funny like bender’s fake funeral in futurama, but also a bit bittersweet and sad and heartwarming. * Sudden panic! Malachi accidentally calls florin ‘dad’, and florin FREAKS THE FRICKLE FRACK OUT! ‘I’m not a good influence, amity! aaaaa!!!’ Worries too much about not being good enough, maybe comically tries to change his personality into a generic sitcom father and malachi is like ‘wtf’ * Possibly a plot about malachi and florin bonding as demons, and figuring out what being demons even necessarily means. I’m thinking florin might be a bit scared by seeing how malachi can sometimes hulk out and run on pure instinct. Its such a huge contrast that this sweet kind child can have such bloodthirstiness inside him, he doesnt understand how malachi seems to enjoy fighting. And he doesnt understand how malachi can think he can control it! He gets a bit scared that this means the fighting side of him is the real side, and the childlike side is just a front, just a lie like everyone says demons manipulate everyone. And does this mean that florin himself is the same? Is he just deluding himself that he can be good? So the resolution is florin being able to accept that both parts of malachi are still malachi, and its completely possible to have both sides without being evil. It is indeed in the nature of demons to fight, but they dont enjoy destruction or evil, its not like holding back some horrible monster who’ll murder everyone you love. And florin has always been holding back this side, he’s been afraid of using his powers too much, worrying he only exists to kill. Malachi helps him accept that his powers have equal potential to heal and to harm, and that it IS possible to control them, that the choice between good and evil is indeed his own choice. At the same time this helps malachi accept that he is indeed a demon, and cope with remembering his horrifying backstory. Knowing that he isnt alone, and that demons dont have to be evil, he’ll be able to be okay, and he has this other demon friend who can help him though it. And they’re able to work out the whole Fearsome Demonic Instincts by doing some playfight sparring together like total dorks XD If you’re worried about your sense of control, then never using your powers wont help! Gotta actually practise! * Possibly florin officially adopting malachi as his son, and its possible for the player to expand out and make more bases once you’ve fully upgraded the cathedral. And maybe florin could become the boss of this new place, and turn it into like an orphange for malachi and others? it could be a big sign of his character development that he’s come this far! Also it could just be hilarious to imagine how baffled travellers would be. “Aaaa there’s a demon and he’s... looking after small children??” “We must rescue the small children from that horrible demon and take them to the orphanage!” *knocks on the door and its florin again*

if theres one thing i learned from playing way too many video games: today i was asked by a person who doesnt play video games “what has video games done for you?” and i have a lot of answers for this question like how it gives me a place to utilize and test my skills or how it engages me better than other hobbies like reading. but it got me thinking and one thing its done for me, that it doesnt do for everyone, is to not let fear dictate my decisions. like when im playing overwatch and the enemy team has a person with godlike aim or even an aimbot, as soon as i give in to the fear and accept that i lost then i definitely lost. but ive won games against people who are aim botting, this game isnt CSGO where if i enter line of sight im dead (you can nade them though *hint hint*), overwatch gives the player many tools to use and that includes the ability to render a player useless. ive seen an aimbotter and i played with the sole purpose of shutting that player down and giving me and my team a chance and we’ve won.
and this is one of those things that apply elsewhere and in real life. ive had projects, particularly group projects, that people have failed me and we had to present with a hole in our information. i can panic and not get anything done, give up and accept a bad grade, or i can do something about it. as soon as i found out that my teammate wont follow through i didnt tell myself that were fucked, i told myself that im probably fucked but ill salvage what i can. at the last minute ill take out that part of the presentation or give that person a cheat sheet of what to say. im really good at bullshitting my way through presentations with fake confidence because as soon i falter i lose everything and i cant do that. I usually opt to be the first one that speaks because i know my strengths and i know that if i speak with confidence and energy, even if its all a lie, it will set the bar for the rest of my group. something ive seen way too many times is a presentation where the first person speaks without confidence and it turns the situation awkward and makes it much harder to pull together and get it over with.
im not saying to not be scared, people cant help it. fear is a natural thing and panic, losing control, and making bad decisions is the natural response. and i know that just me saying this wont convince a bunch of people to be more brave even though i recommend it. but it is one of those things that video games have taught me through many MANY tough situations. be more brave, never stop thinking, and have the balls to try things that other people are too scared to try... in all honesty i would have never fought my bullies, i would have never made friends, i probably would have graduated high school late, and i wouldnt be the same person i am today if i didnt play video games and learn these lessons from them.

Link reclamation: A practical guide for turning unlinked brand mentions into links
Your latest content campaign has been covered by a top-tier global publication… but there’s no link! Your brand (or your client) has been mentioned, but that’s all.
At this stage, do you simply accept the brand value of a mention and move on to target your next link prospect? Or is there a process you can follow to at least try to get a link added in?
Sadly, unlinked brand mentions are one of the biggest challenges when building links through content marketing and digital PR. It’s more common than many link builders would like to admit.
But, seeing a link added in to an article after it’s been published can be easier to achieve than many assume.
You just need to know when it’s right to ask for a link, who you need to reach out to and what you should say. We’ll cover all these things below.
Content-led link building is hard — don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
It often takes blood, sweat and tears to launch a campaign which earns significant numbers of links. And it’s for that reason that link reclamation should be a tactic which is executed as standard. After all, if you’ve put the effort in to land coverage in the first place, it makes sense to follow additional steps to secure a link if that’s what it takes.
How many people use link reclamation?
To demonstrate a point: I recently reached out to my Twitter and LinkedIn networks. I asked a simple question: ‘Do you use link reclamation alongside your content marketing campaigns?’
The responses surprised me…
Always: 29% Sometimes: 47% Never: 24%
Of those who took the time to respond, only three in ten are executing link reclamation as standard on every campaign.
Perhaps more surprising is that one in four aren’t using it at all.
Given some of the comments left alongside the poll, this is something which many turn to if they have time — rather than working it into a wider link building process.
Think of the links which could have been earned but which were simply let lie as brand mentions.
What is link reclamation?
Link reclamation is a simple but efficient tactic to turn brand mentions into links; usually those earned as part of a content marketing or digital PR campaign.
As SEOs, we understand the value of authoritative, editorial links and the impact which they can have upon our campaigns — just as much as we understand how hard it is to even earn coverage from top-tier publications in the first place.
That’s why it can be frustrating when we discover a brand mention which doesn’t link.
What’s really important to remember, however, is that, in many instances, journalists aren’t purposefully avoiding linking to you or your client. For one reason or another (whether that’s trying to speed up the publishing process, a question as to whether a link is really needed to tell the story or others…) articles sometimes go published without a link.
As an industry we need to accept that there’s little we can do to change a journalist’s own processes and publication criteria. What we can do is take action and follow a series of tried and tested steps to try to land that link.
After all, the hard work of getting the coverage in the first place is already done. Turning a brand mention into a link is surely easy in comparison, right?
I’d like to say yes. And in many cases it is. However, I’ve also seen some horrendous examples of link reclamation gone wrong, usually because of a lack of understanding as to whether a link is actually deserved or not.
How do you find unlinked brand mentions?
One way to find unlinked brand mentions is to use ahref’s content explorer and follow their tutorial here. Combining a CSV export with Screaming Frog to compile a list of web pages which mention your brand but which don’t link.
If you’re actively promoting a content marketing or digital PR campaign, however, you’ll undoubtedly already be looking for the latest coverage.
One of the easiest ways to find this is through Google News. Filter by ‘Past 24 hours’ to see coverage picked up in the past day, or set to ‘Past week’ if you’re looking to find additional articles and features.
This will often throw up a number of unlinked brand mentions  which you then can use link reclamation tactics for to try and turn them into a link.
Don’t forget to set up Google Alerts both across your brand name and campaign headlines as well to easily be alerted to further unlinked mention opportunities to explore.
When should you ask for a brand mention to be linked?
It’s not always right to ask for an unlinked brand mentioned to be turned into a link.
Despite what many may say, a journalist doesn’t owe you a link. Not even if they cover your campaign.
A link’s purpose is to take a user from A to B and, in order for that to make sense to be in place, it typically needs to add value of some sorts.
To put this into a working context, let’s look at a few different scenarios here.
Your brand (or client) has been mentioned in an article in reference to a study which you conducted and which the article directly mentions. There’s no link but many of the statistics and findings have been revealed.
A journalist has featured an infographic which you produced (and embedded it) but hasn’t linked. They have credited your brand.
Your brand has been referenced alongside a quote which you supplied to a journalist to add further weight to their story around a subject.
Your brand has been mentioned out of context. In this case, let’s base it around a Tweet which circulated last year; one of your physical stores has been mentioned in an online newspaper, only in reference to a robbery taking place over the road from it.
In which instance would you say you’re well-deserved of the link?
Scenario one. 
When there’s a clear opportunity to add value with what’s on the other end of the link, there’s no debating that a link should be in place and it’s easy to justify why. The good news is that, in many cases, the link will already be in place when there’s clear value to the user and is an important part of the wider article.
Scenarios two and three are the ones where most link reclamation activity happens. Those where a link references the original campaign or the brand who has supplied a quote. In most cases, the link isn’t already in place here because it isn’t vital to the story. However, the link is in context and can be requested as a way to cite a source.
Scenario four is where link reclamation should be avoided. The link is of no value to readers and doesn’t make contextual sense.
Always be mindful as to whether it makes sense for a link to be added in to an article. Ask yourself; “would a link add value to a reader?” Otherwise, you’re wasting your time trying to reclaim an out-of-context mention.
You need to be able to clearly outline where a link should point to.
Note: requesting homepage, category or service page links is often not as successful as those to content pages as it can be seen as overly commercial.
You also need to be able to justify why it makes sense to be in place to maximize your success rate at link reclamation.
Who should you approach with your request?
You need to make sure you’re making your request to the right person to increase your chances of seeing a brand mentioned turned into a link.
Your options of who to approach are usually:
The journalist who wrote and published the article
Their editor
The publication’s corrections desk
You see, most go straight back to the journalist who they pitched the original story to, however this isn’t always as successful as it could be.
Why?
Journalists are busy people.
Once they’ve hit publish there’s a good chance they’ve moved onto writing their next article and have more or less forgotten about what they last put together. And we simply have to accept that. They have new priorities and they’re not about to go and drop everything to add your link back in.
Of course, that’s not to say that reaching back out to a journalist doesn’t work, simply that they’re not always the best option.
You could reach out to the editor of the section. However, again, they’re busy individuals and adding your link in likely doesn’t come as a high priority.
A corrections desk’s role is to make amends to articles which have already been published.
This makes them, at least for me, the first people to reach out to.
You’ll find corrections contacts listed for most publications. If we take a look at Metro’s ‘Contact Us’ page (found in their footer), we see:
The address clearly states that the purpose is for complaints or corrections. sSending your link reclamation request here often ensures both quick action and an increased chance of success.
Say you send to the corrections desk and either get no reply after three days or you don’t see the link added in. (Note that you often won’t be notified that a link has been added to the article after you request it through the corrections desk — so be sure to keep checking yourself.) In this case, you might go back and reach out to either the journalist or the editor (or both; essentially giving you three chances at getting that link).
What should you say to maximize your chances of getting the link?
I’ve spent hours in the past reworking emails, but am confident that the approach which I now take works well, at least across my own clients and campaigns.
I’ve learned that a successful link reclamation email includes the following:
A polite THANK YOU for covering your campaign, brand or client (manners really do go a long way)
A clear reference to the title of the article which contains the brand mention
A link to the article which contains the mention
The link which you want added in to the article
A simple justification as to why the link adds value to readers
And, in practice, here’s what that looks like for me:
It’s simple, straight to the point and polite; however what it does perfectly is justify why a link would add value to the article and should be added in.
In this particular example, the link was added into an article on USA Today within 2 hours of sending the email.
Earning extra links for your brand
Link reclamation is something, as far as I’m concerned, should be done alongside all content marketing and digital PR campaigns to help you maximize the number of quality links earned.
Once you understand what works (and what doesn’t) in terms of who to approach and what to say, you’ll find that it’s something you can spend half an hour on each day and see results from.
At the end of the day, links still work in SEO. And there’s every argument to be made to put in that extra bit of effort to earn more from your (already put in) hard work.

Ultimate fear to me.
Say ive smoked some marijuana and im those thinker type when i smoke the chiba. Well suddenly im surrounded by only those bearing tone of demons prophane barbaroc behaviors. I dobt want to go to hell, and this fleshed out before my eyes is the nature of my worst fear. I am not only God Fearing, but damn nervous because Ive nearly awakened what I call the real me, an innervoice guiding. And i have begun eliminating distraction. I have cleared my thoughts and sight of many distractions. And have started to have a certain space for any almost all items under my use amd home. One thing that adds to another frustratoon os not remembering drawers or table or nooks random/common items did put that buisness card? Or it could just be a real pressue on moment and those 3 like mechanical reaches with your hands and ready to go in 5 seconds. I am comparing this new day 1 moment for me to Change from within. In order to make positive impact on future sitiations and various choices given, I have to jump way out of familiarity. I dont know how to make a friend where drugs and alcohol arent at least in the introductio. Its been over 20 years outside of my sponsor in an AA run since I have made any friends outaide of Getwasted Land. And its alnost like some of these people down here might be animated workers of a divine purpose. . Another reason my greatest fear revolves around Hell is Part A: my consistence in screwing up my life and Part B: randomly manipulating in or believing the reason for myaelf that My heart is attatched the right way, I believe God intended to place a mountain of pain shame and addiction and pride, occourances 1 after another saying put down the beer weed dream. Its not working. Test? bad test? CRASH collisions. wrecks.. Sexual imoralities that put me in only tighter, I like to think of as an irrational coat of shame. Switching schools over 20 times social bonding just seemed to naturally wade into the wastelabds. It was cool to say **** things, skip class and sneak a J. So still part B: reason for my greatest fear sometimes i worry my desire to fight evil with fire kind of mentality of a grey angel badass has to often and with any levels of sincerity been ... non supportive of God, and a compmete self failure. I am a highly successful failure. The tides of life had been decided to ensure have a livable income for life. All my lab blood tests come back good. Inspite of ludacrouis unprotected promiscuity and abusing chemicals alcohol included at very high danger quantities and lengths of time. To paranoid to bruah my teeth, and involved with the addict community they really do mess with my toothbrush when i let them know they can not live in my spare room area or you've got to go period. So the balance of pride and shame are big with me. Im simply putting it this way. I am very smart. Like, words don't automatically limit my perception and i discover ideas, inventions, ways to improve systems namely in buisnesses etc. But i believe i may have discovered a few awarnesses in the light of creation that had been considered. And i flow with innovation so much i didnt even write inventions down anymore. But im starting too now. I dont know if tbere is evil in my motives to understand, and my motive to protect the earth with my creative discoveries within the gift of life here. Glory all goes to God. And i feel pride and shame when i point something out like "this motivated by my naturally good heart amd my true self is a divine discovery. I am probably the first to say Ive beaten Lucifar hands down on 3 areas very simple. 1: there is guarenteed 1% of love within this entitty from the bible, And Lucifer is afraid of this within himself. He fears the capacity in his heart. Lucifer fears himself. And that tiny igmored reality of love is capable of seeking forgiveness and apologizing to his creator. Yea i could be nuts but 2: humans, generally any life form brought into light given the breath of life to seek the water of life, are conditioned, refined, we are born with lack of understanding and in time develop sincere amd forced pursuit of underatanding. I take it Lucifer just suddenly came into light an angel with uncomparable tangible working knowledge with math, music, stars, and whatever elae. Put Satan up against a regular devloped human and there is much to gain from the journey in being. Where satan just woke up with his bed made and an attitude similar to mine perhaps. "This can be better". Is where i stop the line. I assume God ridicule came from the statue with emotions and knowledge. Who should be a professilnal liar if he believes himself that his strength and power are not extensioms of God to begin with. I made a bjg ordeal of it too because i live in comparing to a waizt to shoulder hi body of water like fear. Im always nearly always in fear of something. Even if its just in a house all alone I am watching my tone and volume to not disturb the entity or embarrass myself. And theres usually a lot of BS running around my zone too. But anywhoo, scared of the SwaT teams and demons in a hotel, after the first usual 3 hours of eyes attatched to all directions i can notice without moving i said im going to max this **** out right here yeeaaaaa and i was doing poses for the potentials whoever stands at a second floor hotel window for 3 hours. You catch the drift. Sure part of the freaknicity invomved is mentally appealing. Im nkt going to lie. The flesh of a woman looking jedi equipped i mean has to be no sembalance of a male but thats neithr here nor anywhere for me because this isnt like, my hearts reach in any way. Since the last time i freaked off i encountered sexual encounter with an at the time friend lady and then almost a second time with the hottest coat rack breast formation i ever need to remember. Well she pulls out the money for intercourse part and now i am in not only great confliction but with a prepared spirit for the one of the highest priority lessons I could learn or be corrected on. And just then came a foundation of knowledge and vision. Flesh perveree barbaric using eachother like another drug or relieving some pain or just sheer addicted. Ive never had a time i can remember where there is something between us not being impprtant to me in the sack of awesome goods. If there is no relation there to me now more than ever, then jt is absolute perversive use of the flesh and body. I hope i dont get some effect of a born habbit and tranny zerg away my problem and enhanced self confliction. Hey that was mostly because damn new drug new coping mechanisim, and there are countless survielance vultures and sure there are good birds too but ive raised a lot of attention. I just let go on the FBI something about FBIs mom too. And maybe i just want the 3rd particles in good hands but I cant trust a comey supporting organization who are either ignoring the messed up bridge and back up the lies or they are beings without common sense. Plus some other group(s) i may or may not belong too. Im an expert **** up trying to move out of this world vast potential into a framing of the only way i see contributing chance to 5 generations from now to be atleast alive bearably. But no the world unison is buy what they say to buy no matter what healthier and bio friendly lower cost solutions are hidden from us. What would evolve in systems and technologies supressed by our ROTH oppressors fancy dress night club, is probably far beyond any imagination.
