I came out of this interview hating Harry on Meghan’s behalf and finding Harry to be a clueless spoiled entitled buffoon who probably shouldn’t be left alone without adult supervision. No one can be as obviously clueless as he is, right? I’m not discounting the racism Meghan may have experienced by some of the tabloid press or even from some of the more elitist, snobbier courtiers. But it sounds like a lot of the racism within the family wasn’t ever said directly to Meghan or experienced by her directly but came through conversations Harry supposedly had with family members and then came back and relayed to her. Which given how much of a horrible job Harry did at communicating protocol, rules, what life is like in the royal family to her, I’d automatically doubt anything he said and his interpretation of anything. And we all know he has a super short fuse and reads into a lot of what people actually say. He spun William’s “slow down and take some time, dude” advice to him being a racist a*shole instead of a protective big brother who realized what a huge change this may mean for the woman marrying in and for Harry.

And it sounds like Harry expected the family do a lot of the heavy lifting for his wife/their life instead of doing it himself. Why didn’t he arrange royal/princess lessons for Meghan? Why was it HR or William/Kate/Charles/theQueen’s job to get Meghan acclimated to royal life and/or get her help when she was struggling with her mental health? Couldn’t he call his own therapist or doctor if she was so in crisis she felt like she couldn’t reach out herself? My opinion of Meghan stayed the same but I came away really disliking Harry and feeling sorry for his wife and kids likely having to parent and handhold his clueless self.

Harry isnt exactly a subject matter expert on racism is he? Of all the BRF members he is one person who has actually been caught being racist over and over again. A/N: i'm gonna respond to this in sections bc it's quite long so bare with me.

Howdy y’all, 🤠 again. Yes, I didn’t in fact die. I’m sorry though that I kept getting sidetracked and couldn’t submit this until now, my boss decided to keep dumping her work into my lap. So I just wanna preface this by stating that I’m going to try and say what I want to as coherent as possible, but I have pretty severe ADHD so I’m not always as easy to understand as I think I am in my head, and I often go off on tangents, over explain things and circle back to topics randomly without realizing. Im basically going to go over their relationship over the years as I said previously (I’m not gonna go into detail about every single scandal and shitty thing Juliet did over the years, because we’d be here all year. so I figure I won’t cover them here, but rather let people ask specific questions if they want to. Remember, I was present for pretty much everything so feel free to ask.😊), but I’m also going to do kind of a mini deep dive into Andy’s behavior and actions (because although the snakes will hit you with every excuse in the book, and tell you that you’re looking too far into things and that it doesn’t matter, it does. The way a person acts in general and towards people around them is very relevant when talking about someone’s health, happiness, and well-being.) To start off, let’s take it all the way back to the time before Juliet’s reign of terror, when Andy and Scout were still together. In all honesty from what I saw of them together (and I saw pretty much everything they posted, I’m only a year younger than Andy, and I was quite into him when he was on MySpace and such, and I always watched anything with him and Scout together because they were fucking adorable lol) they had a really healthy relationship. Not once did I get weird vibes from them. The way Andy acted toward and with Scout, you could tell they really loved each other and were happy together. They had nothing to prove. It just was normal. (For any of you who are younger, or didn’t come into the picture until Andy was already post-scout and would like to see some videos of them together, you could generally search on YouTube for it, but also there’s a specific channel on there called like bring the milk tea or something that has videos of old Andy blogs and also Andy and scout on stickam and such. Worth a look if you’re curious) They weren’t constantly all over each other like possessive pack dogs *ahem Juliet ahem* and whenever Andy mentioned scout he didn’t need to shower her in compliments. They both seemed very secure in both themselves and the relationship. Super cute. Initially when they broke up it seemed quite odd. I didn’t really expect it. It got even weirder when he states that he and Juliet are together. It didn’t feel like they fit together at all (and no I’m not talking about from a fame or success perspective. At least not yet lol) As I’ve said I got bad vibes from Juliet right from the get go. Andy already seemed to be acting not like himself. (Also snakeys have argued that it’s just that he’s more mature now and that’s why he acts nervous and constantly looks Ike he wants to die. 🙄 maturity doesn’t mean losing your fucking personality and being unhappy most of the time. Jesus Christ.) it seemed like they got possessive of each other and constantly needed to show people how in love they were. Pictures, videos, and fucking public love paragraphs to show they are, in fact, in a super real relationship and they love each other. It also felt like Andy’s family was in on this whole weird charade.They (Chris honestly) started to defend her degenerate behavior and attack anyone who had even a whisper of negative things to say about her or their relationship. It was like watching a group of awkward, pretty mediocre actors put on a play about them being together. (I’ve hit the text limit now, but there will be more that I will write just after I submit this one though, fear not haha. A/N: i was here for a lot of it as well so i do remember some of this. although i did join the fandom shortly after him and juliet got together (i joined like around the time she was on the voice) i literally remember hoping that him and scout would get back together bc juliet just rubbed me the wrong way and i didn't know why at the time. & side note i actually do recommend people go look at old videos of andy and scout they were really adorable. there is this one video of them singing (i think a carrie underwood song lol) in the car and it's really cute. but yeah just bc he's older doesn't mean his whole entire personality changes. you can be any age and act however you want. i could even use jenna marbles & julien solomita (a youtube couple) as an example, they've been together for i think like 8 or 9 years and are about the same age as A&J (julien being around andy's age & jenna around juliet's age) & although they can have mature adult conversations and all of that, they still act like idiots and joke around together. neither of them look uncomfortable or are afraid of saying certain things like andy is around juliet. so andy aging doesn't mean shit in regards to his personality doing a 180.

🤠okay, so part two here we go. (Also I apologize if I get the chronological order of anything I talk about incorrect, I’m a bit scattered sometimes and the next ask I make will be the one where I talk about the domestic abuse and I tend to get quite heated, which only makes my brain function worse lol) so the point at which Andy was trying to get fans to go vote for/ support Juliet when she was on the voice seemed really fishy. I’m all for supporting the work of the people you love, but it’s kinda strange how hard Andy was pushing this at the time. Too hard in my opinion. I’m obviously aware that it was helpful in the end and he more or less got what he was asking for. But it was like he absolutely needed people to vote for her. As if he would get in trouble if they didn’t. So around 2012 or 2013 it felt like things really went down the shitter from there and just got progressively worse. (I never knew why for the longest time, but after they revealed that Vegas wedding that happened in about that time frame, it made a lot of sense.) Andy’s behavior began to change towards his fans. There are a lot of accounts of this happening from fans themselves and a lot of people said that 1. It was worse with Juliet around, and 2. a lot of the time it would happen towards females especially. ( I think more towards the “pretty” fans but don’t count me on that, I don’t know for sure.) This was completely night and day. Especially coming from the same man who used to always defend his fans and once stated something along the lines of he would never have a crazy or awkward fan story because he loves and is grateful for all of his fans and he won’t get upset if they’re just really excited. I would understand if these fans crossed the line in some way (like the later incident of fans finding his address and harassing them, which is unacceptable no matter who the people are) but from most if not all of the fan stories I’ve heard, they didn’t. They were being respectful and didn’t do anything to warrant this happening to them besides showing up. Which brings me to my next point, a lot of these negative experiences were caused by Juliet. Either she was the one being mean to people, she was causing Andy to be mean to people on her behalf, or her presence was upsetting Andy to the point that he was angry and started being rude and irritable. What scares me the most are the accounts of Andy having a whole Jekyll and Hyde thing, depending on weather or not Juliet was present. Happy when he’s free of her and miserable when he isn’t. In videos of him where Juliet is behind the camera he always seems nervous and strange. Like he’s afraid to mess up. That’s fucking alarming to say the least. You would think that the last thing one would want to do if another person brings them this much anger, stress, and anxiety, the LAST thing they would want to do is fucking marry them. Right? He literally started barely smiling at one point and really doesn’t anymore. I mean for Christ’s sake look at his wedding photos. What’s suppose to be one of the happiest moments of your life and to quote another anon with a different ask, he looks like he’s being dragged to the gallows. (And I get really fucking Angry honestly when snakeys tries to pass it off as “oh he’s awkward he doesn’t know how to smile” or “omg he’s being dramatic for the aesthetics” in some pictures, yes. But why the fuck would you look like that in pictures with the “love of your life” who you now regularly write cringy paragraphs publicly professing your love and complete adoration for? Andy knows how to smile genuinely. Ffs he used to. He smiled genuinely when he was a kid, he smiled genuinely with scout, and he smiled genuinely when Juliet wasn’t around. He doesn’t smile when she is there, and if he does, it is pretty much always visibly fake.) So I may backtrack a little later, but right now I want to talk about the fact that Juliet IS an abuser. 🤠 Just before I start, again, with the pictures, I really don’t think that Andy is enough of a self absorbed egotistical dick that he would actually sit there and put on the whole “miserable tough guy” act in every fucking photo he takes. Ah yes, the infamous plane incident. So straight up, Juliet exposed herself as an abuser, and brought out every bullshit excuse in the book (and made Andy go along with them) to try to cover it up. 1. She was drunk. Honestly this is total bullshit. I say this same thing when people defend cheating or any other degenerate behavior with the excuse of intoxication and I will say it now. Being drunk does not make you a different fucking person. It does not change the thoughts in your head. What it does do is impair your ability to make decisions and judgement skills in general. It’s the same reason why people drive drunk. It’s routine. Its what they would normally do. And because they’re drunk, they can’t see any reason why they shouldn’t do that. Juliet gets drunk, she and Andy fight, she wants to hit him, and because she’s drunk she doesn’t think that she shouldn’t fucking put her hands on him. 2. She hit him in “self defense” and he broke her ribs.(There’s several points I have debunking this) first of all let’s get this out of the way, no one on that plane (including the very real witness who just so happened to be an adult film actress (I think?) who you so love to discount because of it) saw him strike her or even touch her at any time. Two, you are in fucking airplane seats sitting right the fuck next to each other with an armrest in between. It would be pretty fucking hard to break your ribs unless they were made of actual glass, or Andy’s real name is Bruce fucking banner. Bones are surprisingly strong and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that it’d be damn near impossible for him to do that to you, which brings me to three, if he had broken your ribs you would not be fucking standing up, thrashing around, whining like a little bitch, and oh by the way, continuing to abuse your husband for the second time on that flight. Four, you had a miscarriage. (When I was trying to conceive with my husband it was very difficult. I had two miscarriages before I finally had my son. I’m fully aware of how devastating having one is.) which is why if you are not lying (which I fully believe that Juliet would stoop that low just to get sympathy, especially with this big of a scandal. But I don’t actually have proof of this so I will say that it is just speculation on my part) I don’t fucking care. I am not unsympathetic to her if this did actually happen as I said, however, You do not get to make any excuse for putting your hands on another person out of anger. Ever. I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what kind of stress you are under, I don’t care if you are inebriated in any way and I sure as hell don’t care what the fuck you have between your legs. You do not hurt anyone. Point blank period. Five. You are a woman, you can’t hurt him. This one, actually enrages me. We all know your crusty ass pulled this one out (and threw around trump supporters a few times for good measure) because you know damn well how society and the media views and deals with abusive women. Women can abuse. Women who are shorter or weaker than their target can abuse. The fact that there are people who either don’t know that or don’t agree with that is absolutely baffling. Six. The same (I believe) porn actress. Literally saw you beating your own face with the restraints you had to be put in (which by the way flight attendants only ever use restraints as an absolute last resort when someone becomes a danger to the others on board, so she had to be acting absolutely deranged) to give yourself a bloody nose to claim Andy hit you. Then you proceed to act like a child and tell Andy to call your fucking dad. (Which kinda proves that whole Scientology thing honestly) what in the hell. 🤠 I don’t care if it happened just that one time ore more likely is an everyday occurrence. Abuse is abuse and should never be tolerated. Kind of getting away from the plane thing. Andy always seems, as it’s been said on here before, afraid to mess up. Like he might mess up, and make her mad. A common behavioral pattern in abuse victims. He also at this point and for a decent amount of time before, doesn’t seem like he loves her anymore. Like he keeps up appearances and pretends, but it’s like it’s a job he’s forced to do. He’s tired and burnt out but was probably manipulated into staying and juliet is probably clinging for dear life. Also I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this, but I swear, the veganism and sobering up was just a cover up, most likely formed by either Juliet herself or her fucked up family, after the plane incident to hide their tracks and regain some public favor (because you know, if you advocate for animal rights then you can’t abuse your husband 🙃) Andy never gave a shit before though. Even though it was unhealthy he loved to drink and smoke and was very outspoken about that. And he used to never give a fuck about eating meat or consuming animal products like leather. I mean they’re still selling leather goods ffs. I would get having minor fuck ups because you don’t know any better, but it’s fucking leather. And now Andy is unhealthy and miserable as ever, but the culprit is malnourishment and Juliet rather than cigs, alcohol, and Juliet. My final thoughts: I do definitely believe in the Scientology theory, but if not that than I definitely believe that Andy was and is being manipulated for his fame. On several occasions it really looked like they broke up, including the time when they did, and then said it was a joke. It really doesn’t feel normal. Also, Juliet doesn’t really care about Andy that much. She never wears her wedding ring, she sells all their shit, including sentimental items, and now that she’s gained more popularity from being with him, suddenly doesn’t want to put him in her bio or write him the same creepy ass paragraphs or anything. It’s fucked up how shes so keen to say she did it all herself when really she’s been riding dick for fame since before she even met Andy. It also always kinda seemed to me that Amy was kind of uncomfortable around Juliet. We all know that Chris loves to kiss her ass night and day (most likely to do with the Scientology thing “if” it’s true), but Juliet and Amy always seemed to have a weird relationship like it was tense and forced. Also I just want to mention the time that Juliet talked about screaming at the woman over what I believe was a game night and brushed it off as being competitive and no one gave damn. Fucked up. To finish off this already way too long little series, I think Andy is a very vulnerable insecure person who got manipulated by several people (not just Juliet) some of whom he probably really trusted, and they helped to get him in Juliet’s (equally if not more insecure) hands so she could hurt him as she pleases. I truly hope that even now both he, and his parents (even though Chris really grinds my gears) can get out of this whole shit show, relatively unscathed. "Are you guys fucking kidding me?"

Jungkook accidently jumped at the tone of your voice, though Yoongi seemed less surprised. You'd come in practically throwing down the door of you and your boyfriends' apartment, and that being said, you weren't surprised that Jungkook jolted at the noise, it was unlike you.

"Hyung, er–" Jungkook tried his best to speak up, but was cut off quite quickly.

"I'll get to you later," You snapped, and your attention was fixed on Yoongi. He stayed silent, which is a habit that seems to occur whenever he was nervous, but you were fuming, barely thinking about what your boyfriends' might be thinking. "What the fuck, Yoongi. What the actual fuck, you can't just announce shit without–"

"I did," Yoongi argued, standing up from the couch, looking up at you in anger, "And frankly, so did Jungkook, and you knew damn fucking well it was gonna happen anyway."

"You didn't fucking consult me, Yoongi," You grinded your teeth down, doing your best not to react irrationally, "You can't just make decisions because you feel like it, that fucking stunt could've cost us our job!"

Yoongi had no trouble talking back, "Well, it didn't."

"No," You snapped, slapping away Jungkook's hand before glaring at him. Honestly, you were so insulted by Yoongi's recklessness, and especially because you're the manager of Bangtan, you had no idea what this meant for your career, but not only yours, Yoongi's and Jungkook's too, "You do understand that our boyfriend just outed us on live television, right? South Korean. Television. Where marital relationships like ours aren't recognised by law."

Yoongi grapped your wrist, forcing you to look at him, "How long were you expecting us to keep this a secret?"

"As long as it kept us safe," You spat.

"Even if it was taking a toll on our mental health?" Yoongi said, almost too calmly, "Not everyone can keep themselves sane enough when it comes to this shit, [Y/N]."

You frowned and just stared at Yoongi.

"Mind you, your job is to look after us as well," Yoongi added.

"That requires you to fucking talk to me, Suga," The anger became evident, especially for Jungkook, because you only call Yoongi by his stage name in a professional setting, never outside of it, "Not snake around and leave things up to you."

You ripped Yoongi's grip on your wrist, taking one last glance at Jungkook before getting your jacket from the hanger.

Clearly, staying in the apartment wouldn't do your anger any good, leaving before the water begins to tip was probably the best option. You didn't look at your boyfriends', just spoke, "I'm staying at Jin's. Don't call me."

"You might as well change your Facebook status to 'complicated', and start feeding my cat, bro," Jin said from the kitchen, "You've been living on my couch for four days. Four days. I don't see why you can't just talk to them."

"I don't know..." You huffed, "Bro I deleted all my social media, and I haven't even opened the television for the last few days...I've yet to cop it from PD, though. God knows what he's thinking."

"Yeah, and no offence, you and your whole, 'Im gonna pretend I'm not bothered by acting so overly professional in the workplace with my boyfriends' isn't proof that you're unbothered. It's proof that this is effecting you," Jin walked into the living room, who beers in hand as he did. He tried handing you one, though you rejected the offer, wanting to remain sober while you're still upset.

Your bestfriend, after your boyfriends, is the eldest member of Bangtan. Partly because you two are the same age, you being just a bit older than Jin, but despite that, you two understood each other well. Also, another reason that your relationship with him is so good is because it's the best entertainment to be around Kim Seokjin, the sarcasm is inevitable.

"Look, I get what Yoongs was thinking, but I also get they you may not have been ready, but I also think you just shouldn't give a shit about what people have to say about you," Jin placed his input, sitting down on the couch near you, throwing a leg over the other, taking a swift sip of the beer. "And that's coming from singer that racists and homophobes hate, those fucks on twitter are the worst."

You laughed at his reasoning, your eyes fixed on the loose string on the knee of your jeans. They're ripped jeans, they're supposed to be there, but it bothered you. "I'm still mad that they didn't ask me about it first.."

"No, that's fair. You feel lied to, I get that," Jin responded, "But, people make mistakes."

You scoffed, "Not like this, I don't put people's lives on the line," You shook your head, running your thumb on the bottom of your lip for a second, "This is Seoul, it's super hard to get a job, it's worse if you're not straight, even worse if you're not pale."

"Yeah," Jin agreed, "But in your case. What radical fan is gonna let Jungkook and Yoongi leave– no– get kicked out of BTS? You know how fucking mad people would be? ARMY would literally boycott BigHit. But let's say it's you who needs to leave, those two would quit their jobs in a fucking heartbeat, people would still be mad at BigHit, and more accepting companies would do anything to have those two in their company."

You smirked in amusement. It sounded true, those two are the biases of a lot of fans, people would pissed.

"And to add onto that," Jin continued, "Bangtan would be mad. You think any of us would put our jobs over our bestfriends' happiness? No fucking way. We're wanted eveywhere, it would take an email and two phone calls to get us a job somewhere else."

You smiled at that, but you remained silent, it was always nice talking to Jin. He was always honest. You lifted your head up to look at your best friend, a little hesitant to give a response, "Do you... Do you think I should..."

"You still got it?"

"Both of them. Always."

"Yeah. They still love you, I wasn't gonna tell you, but I'm pretty sure Yoongi was crying about it."

You stood up from your seat immediately, throwing a pillow at Jin, "You bafoon! You didn't think to fucking tell me?!"

"Ow! I still have a beer!" Jin defended in a protective, half-ninja pose to protect himself from more pillows, stretch his hand to keep his beer alive and unspilt on his leather couch. "Just remember that they need to apologize too, it's not all your fault. Go and see your mans'."

You didn't waste another moment. You throw your jacket over your shoulder and quickly grabbed the keys to your car, slipping on your shoes and racing to get into your car.

The apartment, thankfully, wasn't far, and you know the city of Seoul like the back of your hand so getting there wasn't an issue, it was more about emotionally preparing yourself.

It wasn't as if you thought about what you were gonna say, but hearing that one of your boyfriends who are always so strong broke down crying wasn't a 'think-first-act-later' moment. Jungkook, god, and Jungkook, you'd yet to figure out how he's been handling everything, but you know for Yoongi's sake, he'd try to be staying as strong for him as possible.

You'd gotten three texts from Jungkook in the last four days. One apology, a sticker, and an 'i love you', but your stubborn trait got the best of you. Now having a silent moment, you wish you'd responded.

He had his face buried into your shoulder, one hand in your hair trying to remember the feel he thought he'd forgotten, "I thought you were leaving us..." He whispered, holding back a sob.

"Jungkook, I'm so so sorry, I overreacted. I was being a jerk and–" You spewed, but was interrupted when your boyfriend shook his head.

"No, no– I'm sorry too, I thought we were doing the right thing and–" He accidently sniffled, a tear falling down his cheek, "–Ah, fuck... Jagi, I'm just so glad you're back."

You kissed Jungkook's cheek from where he was, bringing your hand up to cradle his head lovingly.

You'd do anything for Jungkook, hes your boyfriend and you love him so much.

You continued to embrace Jungkook, before speaking in a small whisper, "... Kookie, baby... Is Yoongs okay?"

Jungkook pulled away from the embrace slightly, but your hands were still on his waist. The younger wipes the tear stain on his cheek first, "He's had better days... A lot of better days."

"How bad?"

"Remember when Namjoon-hyung and him fought that one time?"

"Oh no."

"Yeah.. But this time it's more heartbreak than anger. I think you'll be fine."

You kissed Jungkook one more time, smiling at hin before hesitantly letting go to head towards Yoongi's room.

You made it three quarters of the way there, then saw the 'go away' mat in front of his door with the cat flipping the finger. It made you chuckle, knowing that then Yoongi had bought it despite the fact that nobody is allowed to walk into the house without socks.

Yoongi does things because something tells him it's the right thing to do. He doesn't act then think, he'll probably think for years and the finally act.

"Jagi..." You knocked gently on your boyfriend's door, "Yoon. It's me... Please open–"

Your request was filled before it was finished, the door swang open to reveal a rather teary Min Yoongi, and your heart didn't handle it well. But you probably didn't notice it well enough, because he threw his arms around your neck almost immediately after. He begun sobbing into your collar with his hands gripping the back of your shirt like you'd run away if he let go. He spoke through tears, "[Y/N], I'm so sorry, I didn't think about how you'd feel and," He sobbed, "But please, p-please don't leave again. I thought–"

"Shhh, baby, breathe for me," You said softly, kissing his forehead as a way to comfort him, before pulling away to look at your boyfriend, holding both of his hands in yours, "Yoongs, it's okay, I'm sorry too, and I know this is something we can work around because I love both of you so so much."

You motioned for Jungkook to come too, watching him walk over then holding his hands too.

It took only a second to exhale, but it seemed too long, "I love you two more than anything in this world. You're more important to me than my job, than my pet–"

Jungkook gasped, "Don't say that! Fluff is a beautiful pet!"

You laughed, and Yoongi didn't stop himself from giggling, but you continued, "Regardless, you two are the best thing that's ever happened to me, that I get to see your faces in the morning is a blessing enough." Jungkook was getting teary and Yoongi was holding back tears as much as he could, but you continued, "You're my heaven on earth. I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with you too."

You for down on one knee, Jungkook's eyes going wide and Yoongi's jaw unhinged to its full capacity. You pulled out the velvet box containing two identical rings, opening it carefully to reveal them.

"Min Yoongi and Jeon Jungkook. Will you steal my last name?"

“Hello, ma’am?”

Ren was blithely ignoring Soren’s second week of lyric dancing, their laptop out in front of them and a mug of cider steaming softly nearby. Soren was sweaty and panting hard on the other side of the glass, the sole student of this particular dance instructor, and thus, the recipient of her undivided attention. 

Across from them, a man in a suit was sitting down. The table was built for one. 

“Hello, ma’am!” he tried again, and again Ren did not lift their eyes from their computer screen. But they supposed he wouldn’t leave if they only ignored him. 

“Not a ma’am,” they said blandly. 

“Ah, hello sir?”

“Not a sir,” they said with a sip from their mug, eyes still on their laptop.

“Valued customer!” the man said brightly. They lifted their eyes and paused their music, but their headphones remained in. “I am a representative of Whumpee’s-R-Us’s marketing team, Jon Dillan!” he said brightly, extending his hand over the top of Ren’s laptop. Ren shook the outstretched hand, then immediately pulled out their bottle of travel hand sanitizer and did not care that he could see them squirt out a bit and coat their hands. They knew the statistics about men and public bathrooms. Filthy things, men’s hands.

“A pleasure to meet you, I’m sure,” Ren said flatly, still not sure why their Monday evening was being interrupted, but curious enough to scrounge up some manners. After all, if this man proved valuable, they could definitely use him.

“We here at Whumpee’s-R-Us are releasing a new advertising campaign, encouraging the destitute and desperate to exchange their lives for comfort and splendor, and perhaps sparking a little good-natured competition among valued customers like yourself to buy our more lavish products,” Jon said with a wink that might have been sly and conspiratory if he weren’t holding himself so stiffly. Ren did have to give him points for his facial expressions, though, if only his spine weren’t… like that.

“I see,” Ren prompted, removing one earbud. Jon did not miss it, and took the cue as Ren had intended it.

“We’ve noticed that your pet is very well cared for, as well as quite attractive, in a perfectly objective sense,” Jon rushed on the last part, holding up a hand in easy submission. Ren’s possessive flare of emotion sputtered in their chest, unshown and largely unfelt. Yes, Soren was attractive, and yes, Ren did like flaunting that fact, and they appreciated that the man quelled their other concerns so they could simply enjoy showing off their lovely, lovely boy. “Would you have any interest in allowing us to feature him in our campaign?”

“That depends,” Ren said, removing their other earbud. “What would featuring him entail?”

“Largely just photographs, ideally within your home so as to illustrate the lavish life available to those who sign up for the program. A brief interview would be conducted, mostly just to mine for quotable material, and you will, of course, be compensated for the use of your pet. A standardized rate is, quite naturally, more than available to you, however, we also noticed that you bring your box boy here frequently for classes, and my supervisor has approved offering you unlimited free classes for all and any of your Whumpee’s-R-Us brand pets, present and future, should you so desire it.”

Ren tapped their index fingers in front of their chin, the rest of their fingers steepled, and then asked, “Would you be negotiable towards adding harpist courses, if I choose the second arrangement?” Soren had dance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so, “On Sundays, specifically.” Their angel playing a harp on Sunday. Perfect.

“I can certainly look into it!” Jon said amicably, and Ren shut their laptop, lacing their fingers and resting their chin on the backs, staring vacantly at Soren. The lyric dance instructor had taken two warnings not to touch property that wasn’t hers, but had remained hands-off since. 

Ren weighed the pros and cons. They liked showing off; a lot. They liked the idea of other people knowing that Soren was theirs, that he was their precious, beautiful pet. They liked the idea of free classes, and since emailing the company hadn’t worked, strong-arming them into adding harp lessons was just as well, as long as Ren’s goal was accomplished in the end. Their home would be the setting, secure, their domain. There was nothing that came immediately to mind in way of downsides.

“Draft up a contract and email it to me; I’d prefer to look over it before forwarding it to my lawyer,” Ren said, digging out a business card and handing it to Jon. “In the contract, ensure that there is a statute that all photographers, interviewers, and assorted Whumpee’s-R-Us staff will not touch the pet in question, and that they will remove their shoes and any coats or jackets in the entryway or foyer.” They didn’t want dirt and germs getting tracked all over their carpets. 

Jon seemed a little taken aback by the second point, though perfectly expectant of the first.

“If harp lessons can be provided, I would prefer the option of free classes. If not, I am negotiable on the fee, but will largely be leaving that to the discretion of my lawyer.” Well, their mama’s lawyer, but she’d been their lawyer for as long as they’d needed one, so she could certainly be counted as theirs.

“Marvelous,” Jon said with a bright smile, and extended his hand again, before thinking the better of it.

“Agreed,” Ren said, lifting their mug with a tilt of their head, and then took a sip. They’d spent enough time contemplating the offer that the class was now over, Soren coming into the viewing area on shaking legs and sinking to his knees at Ren’s feet. On reflex, they carded their fingers through his (damp, sweaty) hair. 

“Well, I’d better get on that then. I’ll send you the contract as soon as it’s drafted, and it was a pleasure speaking with you…” Jon glanced at the business card. “Ren.”

“Likewise. I look forward to our arrangement.”

Soren glanced up at Jon’s retreating back, then turned his big, doe-eyes on Ren. “Exalted?”

Ren smiled down at him. “You just might be a model, Soren,” Ren said, “In all likelihood, you will be. Whumpee’s-R-Us need pretty little Box Boys in their new homes for a campaign they’re running, and you’re terribly pretty, and I have a very lovely home. They’re going to come take your picture and ask you a couple questions, sometime sooner or later.”

Soren’s hand lifted to his collar, gripping it gently, and Ren smiled at the sight. “And, you’ll be there?”

“The whole time, angel,” Ren said. Like they’d ever allow strangers to wander about their home unsupervised, and like they’d ever leave Soren alone with any of them.

Soren smiled up with relief, with devotion, and Ren kissed their sweaty hairline. “Come, pet, let’s get you home and in the shower.”

“Yes, Ren,” Soren said with a contented sigh.

The next evening, Ren received an email containing the contract, which they read over. They did have a degree in law, a minor, but still, so they largely understood it and approved of its contents, but forwarded it to their lawyer anyway to double check. She had one suggested revision, which Ren took, and the Whumpee’s-R-Us legal department accepted it without fuss. Wednesday, Soren had ballet classes, so it was Thursday that a modest crew appeared on Ren’s front doorstep.

“Welcome, please remove your shoes,” they greeted, holding the door open. They’d taken great pleasure in dressing Soren up just so, that day, and he struck a particularly beautiful figure, hanging nervously behind Ren. His hair was long again, long enough that Ren wasn’t going to buy any more of the specialized products for growth, now focusing on maintenance and hair health, and the color was that perfect gold. All the time spent on the balcony had left his skin honeyed and deeply freckled once more. He was wearing fluttering white and off-white clothing, the sleeves rippling bells around his wrists, the pants loose with a skirt cape trailing the carpet behind him. And all over him was gold, golden jewelry, golden makeup, gold nails, a gold belt.

They snapped a couple photos of Soren in the living room, perched in the kitchen, but Ren suspected those were just warm up shots. Soren’s room was obviously the location for the photos, more to the point, and better suited to Soren’s appearance. They took many photos in Soren’s bedroom, some of him settled on the settee, some with him snuggled comfortably, though lavishly, on his overly plush bed, the cushions and the duvet half-hiding his face, golden hair giving him a curtain that added intrigue. The balcony shots were particularly appealing, the wind was really working with them that day, and when a particularly strong gust blew a lock of hair into Soren’s face and he instinctively reached up to push it back, the camera shutter sounded like a quiet machine gun, it was going off so fast. 

He was so candid, so genuinely sweet and precious, so beautiful, the photographers hardly had to do more than vaguely direct him and they were provided with more material than they had likely anticipated.

“If we may interview the pet, now?” the woman in charge asked Ren, and they nodded their head with a sweep of their hand as though to say “go ahead.”

“And I will, naturally, be receiving every one of those photos, as per our arrangement,” Ren mentioned to the photographer, who was flipping through the camera, skimming through the selection. He gave them a good natured chuckle and a quick thumbs-up.

The interview really was just a mine for quotes, and Soren spent a large portion of it with his hand on his collar, smoothing his thumb over the plate that bore his name. Soren. The name that Ren had given him, the inscription proof that they owned every inch of him, from his body to his mind down to his very identity.

“Soren,” Ren called when they were done, “Heel.”

Soren was at their feet in and instant, pressed up against their leg, his body singing with relief. “Well done, darling.” Ren turned their eyes to the photographer. “One more?” Ren suggested, before squatting down, hand on the curve of Soren’s neck, and pressed a kiss to his temple. The camera shutter clicked.

“And yes, you may use that in your campaign if you want,” Ren said airily, standing back up. Soren looked up at them with an adoring smile, and followed after as Ren saw the crew out.

“Do you really think they’ll use me, Exalted?” Soren asked quietly after the door had closed, watching their cars and van turning on through the panel windows. 

Ren tweaked his nose between two fingers, jiggling his head a little. “Of course, darling, they’d be fools not to.”

Ren went to pour themself a drink, and then mentioned, off-handedly. “Oh, and you’re enrolled in harp classes on Sundays, now.”

“Fuck,” Peter mutters under his breath

“Get out!” Jo yells at Sam and Bucky, quilt clutched to her chest, “Now!” They both back out of her room slowly and Jo falls back against her pillows, groaning. Peter chuckles a little, “Your heart is beating so fast right now.”

“Two Avengers literally just kicked in my front door, I’m sure that I’m having a pretty normal reaction.” Jo pushes some hair out of her face before cocking her head up at him, “Wait, you can hear that?” 

“Only because it’s really quiet in here,” He explains with a soft smile, “I’ve gotten pretty good at tuning that type of stuff out. The suit does it for me automatically, but at first, when I wasn’t wearing it there was just so much sight and sound stimulation it drove me crazy.” 

“I didn’t know that.” Jo tells him truthfully. 

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.” He points out. 

“Should we change that?” She asks breathily, butterflies forming in her stomach at the seriousness of these words. One of Peter’s hands comes up to clutch her cheek, thumb tracing her bottom lip. In the morning light Peter notices that her brown eyes have a ring of gold around them. The weight behind Jo’s words hang in the air. After last night, it’s clear that whatever they’ve been doing isn’t working. 

There’s a loud clang from the kitchen and they’re pulled from their reverie. Peter sighs and stands to re-dress, “I guess we should deal with that.” 

“Guess so,” Jo shakes her head and rummages around her room for a pair of lounge pants before putting on the same undershirt she had on the night before. Jo groans as soon as she steps out of her room. The door to her apartment had been torn from the hinges and thrown across the loft into the opposing wall, like someone with super powers had kicked it in. For a second, Jo almost laughs. How was this her life? 

Peter leans against the frame of Jo’s bedroom and surveys the damage in front of him. She was going to need a new door frame, a new door, and to repair the damaged wall them door flew into. He stuffs his hands in his pockets and looks across the room at Bucky and Sam. 

“Why?” Is all he asks them. 

Jo is still openly gaping at the hole in the wall where her door used to be, “Why?” she repeats, glaring at the person nearest to her, which happened to be Sam. “Don’t look at me,” Sam says, hands in the air defensively, “He’s the one who kicked the door in.”

“Dude.” Bucky throws Sam a look, “You told me to.” 

“Why?” Jo repeats, teeth clenched. 

“Your dad-” Sam starts. 

“Is in Singapore!” Jo yells, “What does he have to do with this?” 

“If you would let me finish,” Sam gives her a pointed look. “He got an alert from FRIDAY that you left the apartment and didn’t come back. FRIDAY also alerted him that you were under some sort of distress when you left. He called your phone about 100 times since then and you didn’t answer. So. He sent us to save you.” 

“From Peter?” She sounds defeated, looking at the mess in front of her. Jo considers Sam’s words. It was true, she had left, incredibly upset, and just not come back. She hadn’t realized she left her phone at the tower or that anyone had been trying to get in touch with her. 

“Tony convinced us that a bad, bad man had you and we were racing against time to find you.” Sam says. 

“I hate you both.” Peter says from his spot in Jo’s doorframe. 

Bucky and Sam’s direct their attention to Peter and Sam laughs out loud, “This is your, fault kid. How were we supposed to know the girl you told us about was Jo.” 

Jo’s eyes snap to Peter, “You told them?” She asks him defensively. 

“Not that it was you.” He says pointedly. 

“This is a mess.” Bucky runs a hand through his hair. 

Jo decides to ignore anything Peter may or may not have said to his roommates about their fight. “But why didn’t you just knock first?”

“This could have all been avoided if you knocked.” Peter continues. 

“I told you it was only a matter of time before the teenagers turned on us,” Sam muttered to Bucky, who nodded beside him. 

“Oh, my god!” Jo lets out a frustrated groan, “Forget it! Can we just clean it up?” The four of them begin to pick up the area quietly. Jo moves to her supply closet to grab a broom and dustpan and stands out of the way until the others are done with the heavy lifting. Bucky grabs hold of the industrial style door that’s currently stuck in the wall across from the entrance to her apartment, and with a little bit of effort pulls it out of the wall. More concrete and drywall fall to the ground loudly and Bucky gives Jo a sheepish look. 

Peter and Sam quietly pick up the larger pieces of concrete that surround the doorframe and wall, piling them up in the hallway outside Jo’s apartment. “So,” Joanna says casually, sweeping up the remaining dust and debris, “You obviously saw Peter and I here, uh, together,” Sam lets out a snort and Jo shoots him a glare, “Did you tell Tony he was here?”  

Peter and Jo exchange a look. Jo hadn’t known Tony and Peter very long, but she was able to learn that the two of them had a special relationship, even if Tony was hard on Peter sometimes. And Peter saw exactly the way Tony had changed since Jo came into his life. He was better in every way. Peter also knew that Tony was aware of his less than stellar reputation when it came to women. If Tony found out that Peter was sleeping with his daughter he would send him on a year-long mission in South America. Or to work in a lab in Switzerland. Or maybe he’d just kill him. 

Peter coughs a bit and looks at them, “You can’t tell Tony.” 

Sam takes one look at the two of them and laughs out loud. They both wear matching expressions of embarrassment and fear. “You guys are so fucked.” “Sam.”

“We didn’t tell him, don’t worry about it.” Bucky tells them. 

“Yup. As far as he’s concerned you just left your phone at the tower.” Sam reassures, looking between the two, “But ya’ll gotta figure whatever this is out.” With that, the two men make their way out of Jo’s apartment. Sam’s words hang between the two of them. 

“He’s, uh, got a point, Jo.” Peter tells her, gingerly picking up the door and trying to place it in front of the hole in the wall is. “You should call Happy about this.” He says as an afterthought. 

Jo stares at him for a little, unable to express her thoughts to him. 

“Okay, I’ll go first I guess.” Peter moves to stand in front of her, “Look Joanna. I know it’s hard to put a label on this, but it just doesn’t feel casual to me anymore. I thought it could pretend I cared less than I did, but it drove me insane. I just need you to know I’m crazy about you.  I don’t even know where I’m going with this.” Peter rambles.

“I get it!” Jo finally gets out, “I get it, I feel the same way. This is special, ok?” She grabs one of Peter’s hands, lacing her fingers with his. “You’re all I’ve thought about since I met you.” 

“I haven’t even been able to look at another girl since you,” Peter laughs a little. “We still can’t tell anyone.” She reminds him. 

“Yeah, but at least we aren’t pretending that friends with benefits is working anymore. Maybe, eventually, we can tell Tony and-“ 

“Any then what?” Jo asks, getting a little defensive, “Then you put your arm around me in public and then the whole world thinks they own us? No way.” Peter sighs. Jo has a point, but he decides that this just isn’t the time to talk about that. “Look,” He says, pulling her close and leaning down to ghost his lips along her jaw, “as long as you know how I feel, I’m fine.” 

“Remind me how you feel again?” Jo gives him a mischievous smile, but there’s something in her eyes that he doesn’t quite understand. Insecurity, maybe? 

Peter softens, kissing the spot behind her ear that makes her shiver, “No one has ever made me feel the way you make me feel.” He pulls back and puts his hands on her shoulders, looking her in the eye, “It’s just you, okay?” 

“Okay,” Jo whispers, feeling the weight of his words. “Can you hear my heart right now?” She’s overwhelmed by her feelings and she’s not sure she’ll be able to properly articulate them to him. 

Peter nods. 

“Then you know.” Jo swallows, “How I’m feeling right now.” 

Peter lifts a hand and ghosts it over the skin above her heart. “Just for you.” Jo tells him. Peter nods again and presses his lips to hers, kissing her hungrily. The two separate eventually and continue to clean the area. When they’re satisfied with their work, Peter pulls Jo to the couch with him. “I’m taking a mental health day today.” Peter declares to Jo. “Do you have anything on your agenda?” 

She looks up at him and shakes her head. “Literally nothing.” Jo smiles up at him. 

They spend the morning drinking coffee and talking. Jo gets wrapped up in every story Peter has to tell her. It’s the first time he opens up to her like this. About his high school friends that are away at college and what Tony meant to him and the crazy missions he’s been on. 

Jo hesitates to ask him about his parents, but Peter easily explains the situation to her. His parents died when he was very young. He was raised about his aunt and uncle. Jo wasn’t embarrassed to admit to him that he had read an interview that he had done with GQ. He had gushed about his Aunt May, but didn’t mention an uncle. 

Peter looks anywhere but Jo when he says, “He died.” 

“Oh.” 

“Like four months after I got bit. He was stabbed in a robbery.” 

“Peter…” Jo sits up to look at him. She can tell he’s trying keep his face indifferent. 

“I couldn’t stop it.” He finally looks at her. “I was there, I wasn’t fast enough.” Jo knew the pain of losing a parent, of course. But she cannot imagine that coupled with the belief that it had been her fault that her mom died. She reaches for his hand and plays with his fingers and waits for him to go on. 

“I think about it every day…. If I had gotten there a second earlier.” Peter shakes his head, “He would be here still and May would be happy.”

“You were barely 15. You can’t,” Jo pauses, “You shouldn’t carry this burden around.” 

“I know, Joanna.” He gives her a sad smile. 

Unsure of what else to say, Jo leans forward and presses a kiss to his lips. She goes to pull away but Peter anchors a hand in her hair and pulls her closer to him. Jo thrills at the feeling of Peter’s calloused hands running down her arms and over her waist. 

Peter pulls Jo closer and she straddles his waist. One of his hands travels down to her ass, squeezing lightly. Jo gasps into his mouth and grinds her hips against his. Before Jo can react Peter hooks an arm around her back and flips them so she’s on her back underneath him, Peter’s hips between her thighs. 

“I wish I could spend every afternoon like this,” Peter tells Jo, pushing some hair out of her face. 

“Quit your day job and drop out of school,” Jo says cheekily, “And I think we can work something out.” 

Peter rolls his eyes and kisses his way down her body, effectively cutting off all conversation for the rest of the afternoon. __________________________________________________________________

Friday night rolls around. Both Jo and Peter decide to ignore invitations to go out with their friends to stay in and hang out at Peter’s, something that Jo has grown fond of doing with him. It’s nearly 1AM when they decide to put a frozen pizza in the oven. 

“Crazy Friday night.” Peter laughs from behind Jo, wrapping two arms around her. 

She leans back against his chest and nods, “It’s nice.” 

Peter hums in agreement and rests his chin on the top of her head. The two are comfortably quiet for a few moments until they’re both pulled from their thoughts by the elevator door opening and loud, raucous laughter coming from the inside. 

Peter drops his arms and steps away from Jo, who moves to take a spot on a stool around the island as Steve, Bucky, and Sam saunter in the room. 

“The kids are still awake!” Sam declares as he walks into the kitchen and immediately opens the fridge and pulls out a 6 pack, immediately tossing one to Steve and one to Bucky. 

“It’s gotta be past your bedtime,” Steve says to Jo with a teasing smile. 

Jo gives him a crooked smile back, “Are you guys drunk?” She had never seen Steve with the glassy look he has in his eyes. 

“No, we just went to happy hour.” Sam explains as Bucky takes a seat next to Jo. 

“Happy hour ends at 7.” Jo accuses, narrowing her eyes at Bucky. 

Bucky reaches out and pokes the tip of her nose, “Happy hours.” He corrects. “You’re all wasted!” Peter laughs, pointing at Steve. 

“Needed to blow off some steam?” Jo asks, resting her chin on her hand. “We were trying to get Bucky laid.” Steve slurs a little looking between Jo and Peter. “The man needs it and he won’t talk to girls himself so… wingman.” Steve points at himself. 

“Wingmen!” Sam corrects. 

“But Bucky’s not with a girl… he’s here in the kitchen. You guys aren’t great wingmen.” Peter notes, taking a look at Bucky, who is bright red.

“I have to get up early tomorrow. Meeting with Tony.” Peter explains.

“I mean we could,” Peter smiles at her, “But I think Bucky and Natasha would be a little annoyed if we interrupted them.”

“Bucky and Nat?!” Jo exclaims. Peter nods. “At least Nat’s boyfriend wants to fool around with her.”

Peter rolls his eyes at her, deliberately ignoring the word boyfriend. “Nat can hold her liquor.” He retorts. But then he pulls her close, “And just so you know, I always want you.”

Peter slowly helps Jo undress, dress pooling at the floor around her feet, leaving her in front of him in nothing but a tiny pair of black panties. He scrubs his hand over his face, wanting to throw his Not-Sleeping-With-Wasted-Girls policy out the window. But he shakes his head and quickly unbuttons his shirt and helps Jo into it.

Peter tucks some hair behind her ear and looks down at her. Even drunk and messy and stumbling she’s still perfect. He pulls her close, just needing to touch her.

“Dance with me?” She asks Peter, eyes wide.

Peter almost melts at the sound of her voice, “There’s no music.” And then Jo is out of his grasp and her phone is playing Sinatra and she’s grabbing his hands again.

They’re quiet for a few moments, swaying off-beat to the music. Eventually Jo speaks, “None of the other guys ever wanted to dance with me.” She says so softly that Peter almost missed it. Not sure what she’s trying to say, he waits for Jo to go on. “They wanted my body, most of the time. Or they liked how many followers I have on Instagram. They didn’t know that I like to dance to Sinatra when I’m drunk.” Her voice shakes.

“I would do anything you asked me.” Peter tells her truthfully. “I could do this forever.”

“You’ll like me even when I’m making you dance with me at four in the morning?” She asks, not able to look him in the eye. The implication behind her words is obvious to him. “What happens when I’m not shiny and new anymore?”

Peter suddenly feels so angry at whoever made her believe that she was only worth wanting for the fame, the celebrity. Or just to say they’ve slept with Joanna Taylor. He has to make an effort to keep his hands from shaking. He’s pretty sure that in this moment he could kill anyone who made her feel less.

“Joanna,” Peter breathes, “I’ll always like you. I’ll always want you. Okay?”

Jo is quiet for a moment, searching his eyes, trying to decide if she’ll believe him. She nods.

“Use your words, baby.” Peter looks down at her. “I need to know you understand I’m not going to hurt you.”

Reaching up to touch his face, Jo nods again, “I know.” She whispers.

For Peter, it’s enough. He presses a soft kiss to her mouth before he says, “Let’s go to bed.”

They crawl into bed, Jo’s body curling into Peters, her back to his chest. He wraps an arm around her middle and pulls her as close as he can, fingers splayed over her abdomen, one of his legs between hers. He buries his face in the space between her shoulder and neck, breathing her in deeply.

Peter thinks Jo’s asleep already, until he hears her voice, “Hey Peter?”

“Hmm?”

“Just so you know, I’ll always want you too.” She says, so low, that if it wasn’t for his enhanced hearing he wouldn’t even have heard.

“Okay,” He whispers back, breath tickling Jo’s ear. He doesn’t tell her how badly he needed to hear her say that, just pulls her closer and lets the sound of her steady breathing lull him to sleep.

Jo’s hands are shaking. Peter watches her clench them into fists to quell the tremors and almost gives in and pulls her to him and tells her everything is fine. Almost.

But, he’s fucking livid at her right now, so he doesn’t.

It had been nearly two months since Maria’s wedding. Something shifted between the two of them that night, they stopped dancing around their feelings and realized that their relationship was something serious. As serious as a couple of teenagers could be.

They even told Tony, who was shockingly cool about the whole thing, but still liked to give Peter a hard time about. In the nearly 6 months it’s been since they met, Peter had fallen absolutely head over heels for Jo, and she wasn’t far behind him.

But this was their first fight. Like actual Screaming-Across-The-Apartment fight. They had bickered before, but nothing like this.

It started when Jo opened the freezer for some ice and a large candle fell from the top, clipping her on the shoulder before shattering at her feet. She had just gotten back from a whirlwind week in Los Angeles a few days ago, and Peter had been so busy with work they’d barely gotten to talk.

“Oh shit, baby, are you okay?” Peter asked from his place on the couch.

“Did you put this there?” She hisses at him.

“Yeah, I-” Peter starts, but Jo cuts him off.

“Did you ever maybe think that maybe that would be a stupid place to put it?” She snaps, voice raised.

“I was cleaning up the mess you left out here last night. I forgot I put it there. What the fuck’s your problem today?” He asks, walking towards the kitchen

“Well I didn’t fucking ask you to do that.”

“I was just trying to help, jesus. You don’t have to be such a bitch about it.” Peter retorts.

“Whatever.” Jo snorts, trying to brush past him to her bedroom, but Peter steps in front of her.

“No.” He crosses his arms in front of her, “You’ve been acting like this since you got back from LA. What’s up?”

“Maybe I’m just a bitch.” She sneers at him.

Peter scrubs a hand over his face, trying not to raise his voice, knowing how easily it could escalate, “Jo…” He warns.

“What?!” She explodes, “You’ve barely fucking looked at me since I got back! You didn’t answer any of my texts or calls while I was gone, and now you’re gonna act all pissy because of this? Get out of my way.” She shoves past him, shoulder hitting his.

“Sorry I’m busy!” He yells after her, grabbing her arm, “Don’t fucking walk away, it’s immature. Not what you do when you’re in a fight.”

“Don’t patronize me.” She spits, “And you didn’t seem busy when you were out in the Village this weekend.”

“You’re kidding. This is what you’re mad about? I really don’t have the time for this.” Now it’s Peter’s turn to walk away.

“No. I’m not kidding. It felt pretty shitty when I tried to get ahold of you all day Saturday and heard nothing and then I woke up the next day and you’re on my fucking Instagram discover page and you’re at some club with pretty girls hanging all over you. That sucked.” Now Jo’s yelling and her hands are shaking and she feels like she’s about to cry.

“Jo, that’s ridiculous. Some friends dragged me out. Sorry I didn’t know you needed to be made aware of my every move.” He says condescendingly, “I’ll send you my schedule.”

“Fuck you.” Jo turns on her heel away from him.

“Jo-” He says, exasperated.

“No!” Jo yells, whipping around to look at him. “Don’t tell me my feelings are ridiculous. Even if you didn’t mean to, what you did hurt me and you don’t give a fuck.” Tears spill down her cheeks. “I can’t do this right now. I’m leaving.” She says through her teeth.

At that moment the elevator door pings and Steve Rogers comes striding out, shit-eating grin on his face, “Hey, guys, so Bucky and I have this bet-” He’s cut off by Jo all but barreling through him to the elevator.

“Joanna!” Peter calls after her.

“Don’t fucking follow me!” She yells back, jamming her finger into the button that will take her to the residence exit on 45th Street.

Steve looks at Peter, eyes wide, “You gonna go after her?”

Peter snorts, trying very hard not to direct his anger at Steve, “Not sure that’s the best idea.”

“Look- I’m not sure what that was about, but take some advice from an old man. She wants you to follow her.” Steve tells him.

Peter blows some air out through his nose, “Not now, Steve, please.”

“Alright kid, let me know-” The shrill ringing of Steve’s own phone cuts him off. He accepts the call and presses the device to his ear, “Rogers.”

Peter knits his brows when a look of concern crosses Steve’s face, “I’m with Parker, we’ll be right there.”

“What is it?” Peter asks.

“Situation in one of the labs. We gotta go.” With that, Peter pushes all thoughts of Jo and their fight out of his mind and follows Steve out of her apartment.

Across town, Jo sits in Jungle City by herself, still stewing in anger. She knew it couldn’t possibly be healthy for her to be dwelling on their fight like this, but Peter was a dick this morning and she was already in a bad mood, so why not?

She’s busy feeling bad for herself when the door to the studio she’s in flies open and slams against the wall.

Jo sits up, eyes wide, “What the fuck?!”

Sam Wilson looks down at her, “We have a problem.” He tells her. “Get your stuff, let’s go.”

Jo’s heart drops to her stomach, “What is it?” She asks.

“Why haven’t you answered your phone?” Sam demands, already walking out the door.

Jo runs to catch up with him, “What? I turned it off, me and Peter got in a fight… Sam, what’s going on?”

Sam doesn’t say anything, just strides quickly out the front door of the studio. When they’re both in the large black SUV, Sam shifts to drive and peels away from the sidewalk. “Sam,” She sounds so small, “What is it, is it Tony…”

“Turn on your phone, Jo. We’ll tell you more when we get back to the tower.”

She turns on her phone and is immediately greeted by about 50 missed calls from Tony, Steve, and Nat. She also has a myriad of texts from them asking where she is and that she needs to get to the tower. “Sam…” Jo trails off.

“There’s a hostage situation in one of the labs.” Sam doesn’t take his eyes off the road as he swerves through the traffic, “An old employee with a grudge brought a gun.”

“Is everyone okay?” Panic creeps through Jo’s body.

“Jo, we had to send Peter in. He’s the only one that could get in through the vents undetected.” They pull up to the garage. “He’s okay right now. But he was shot in the shoulder. He’s still trying to talk this guy down.”

“He’s okay?! He’s not okay, he was shot!” Joanna is frantic. All she can think about is the last thing she said to him. Fuck you… don’t follow me. Her vision is blurry and she feels nauseous, but she follows Sam to the elevator that will take them

“Hey, hey, hey, try to calm down okay? We’re going to handle this.” Sam puts an arm around the girl and leads her to Tony’s office, which has become a makeshift war room.

“Tony!” She pulls away from Sam as soon as she sees him, “What’s going on?” All the TV’s and other devices are streaming a live feed from the security cameras of the lab that’s on lockdown. “Why aren’t you going in to help him?!” She demands.

“Jo, this is a delicate situation. There’s civilians down there.” Natasha approaches Jo like she’s a wounded animal. “Peter’s gonna be fine.” But she looks worried herself.

Jo focuses on one of the screens in front of her. She sees a man standing directly in the middle of the lab flailing a large gun around. Directly in front of him is Peter, in his Spider-Man suit, hands up in a non-threatening manner. There’s a group of about 10 people who Jo assumes are lab employees.

“Why?” Is all Jo can ask.

“We don’t- we’re not sure. Eric Sittman. He’s unstable. Used to be a S.H.I.E.L.D agent, desk jockey, but based on his file it looks like he wanted to be a field agent. Failed the evaluation three times.” Tony doesn’t look away from the screen.

Jo isn’t 100% sure about what he’s saying, but she gets the jist. “Oh my god.” She whispers. “What’s he saying? Can I hear?”

“We just have him on comms. He’s trying to diffuse the situation, make Eric trust him. We’re giving him a few more minutes before we escalate.” Steve tells Jo, putting a hand on her shoulder.  

“But if you do that, he’ll kill those people.” Jo says dumbly.

“We’re starting to think he might do it anyway.”  Tony sighs.

On the screen, Peter pulls off his mask, revealing his face to the man. His hands are still up, and he’s speaking frantically. She can tell he’s trying his best to remain calm, to distract Eric from the hostages.

“We just lost comms.” Tony groans, frusturated, shoving some papers off his desk. Jo flinches when they hit the ground. “We have to go in there.”

“Give him a minute, he can handle it.” Steve looks at Tony.

“He’s 19!” Tony yells.

“He’s an Avenger!” Steve yells back. “He can handle it.”

Jo, feeling nauseous, sits in the closest chair she can find, pressing the heels of her hands to her eyes for a moment before she looks back to the screens. Peter looks pale and his hair is damp with sweat. There’s a growing red stain on his right shoulder from the bullet wound.

“Look.” Steve gestures.

Although they can’t hear, it’s easy to see the demeanor of the gunman change slowly. The gun remains in his hands, but drops to his side. His shoulders sag and his head drops. Peter holds his right arm gingerly at his side, and takes a step toward Eric, left arm extended. She’s sure Peter’s asking Eric to hand him the gun.

Jo lets out a breath. She finally feels like it might almost be over. She’s not sure if she’s been sitting in the room for 15 minutes or 15 years. Everyone in Tony’s office holds their breath as Peter slowly walks towards the gunman.

Then, suddenly, with no warning at all, Eric is tense, waving the gun around with his right hand. Peter jumps back instinctually, and she sees the desperate look on his face. She’s able to read his lips, please he’s begging Eric. Don’t. Eric is yelling, looking more and more strung up, backing into a corner like a caged animal.

Then, so quickly that if she’d blinked she would have missed it, she watched Eric lift the gun to his own temple and pull the trigger.

I haven’t said he’s a failure either; in fact, I applaud his efforts to create work for himself through SunnyMarch since he obviously has stopped being offered new work from major Hollywood studios.  Kudos to him for not only choosing roles that showcase his talent when it comes to SM projects, but also producing two very good films (The Child In Time and what we’ve seen so far from Patrick Melrose).

As far as Doctor Strange is concerned, I wasn’t a fan of the first movie for various reasons you can look up in my archive, but I’m very much converted on that front having seen the potential the character has when he’s being written by someone who knows what they’re doing.  In case you didn’t get that, it was a dig at the way Scott Derrickson handled DS.

Anyway, in answer to your question, I am really happy running this blog and having a laugh with my friends.  If you’re not as happy reading what I and other Skeptics have to say, feel free to stop paying attention to us and go back under your bridge.  Happy trails!  :o)

Is there such thing as any car any driver insurance? How do I get it?

I have four drivers in my family and at any time 3-4 cars. Is there an insurance policy that allows the drivers to be interchangeable? Flounder told me to do 59 of those questions. I started this last night and needed to take a break. I tried to answer completely and honestly and it may have really soured my mood. By question like 20 or so it’s basically pictures of Joe Gilgun every other question. lol I felt it was easier to post photos than answer with words since I wasn’t too happy. Boys: Thomas Richard (or if I had two boys Thomas and Richard). Thomas is a name that’s p much been in every gen of my family except for mine because everyone had girls and not boys. So I’d bring that back. Richard was my grandpa’s name so I’d also bring that back.

Girls: Natalie, Elizabeth, possibly Ellie, maybe Megan. 

3. do you miss anyone?

Of course. One’s a they’re-not-here-anymore thing and the others more of a we’re-growing-apart-as-people thing. 

4. what are you looking forward to?

You know, I really am looking forward to starting this new job. Not just for the money it’ll provide me with and the possibilities of me being able to do fun things like go to the friggin’ aquarium (most of this sort of thing I am already making plans to do lol oops) and see the solar eclipse but also because it feels like I’m finally DOING something. It feels like I’m finally taking this nursing-track seriously. I’ve got myself in a hospital doing career-related work. It’ll have benefits which I need to stay healthy. It’ll support me. It almost feels like Day One of this job is where my TV show starts. Day One is my Pilot episode. It’s gonna be JD walking into Sacred Heart, it’s gonna be the TARDIS landing in my yard and the Doctor saying, “run”, it’s gonna be Spongebob getting his fry cook spatula. In my mind I keep comparing it to Scrubs a lot. Like this is where we see me go from PCA to Nurse and this is where I will finally make Work Friends and maybe grab dinner with them after a long shift and maybe one day a cute employee will see me in the cafeteria and we’ll start dating. I just feel like maybe this job will be that life changing. That this is where my story starts - the story people want to see - and that’ll change my life. Or kickstart it. I know that that all sounds horribly idealistic and is not at all reality, it’s just not how life works, but that’s how excited and hopeful it’s making me.

5. is there anyone who can always make you smile?

Lately Joe Gilgun’s been handling that. lol (and by lately i mean for like a year now). But as far as people IRL... not sure. Everyone has their days. One day this person will make me smile another day this one will. Everyone has bad days where they just rub each other the wrong way - it happens. But I feel like the people who are close to me make me smile pretty well for the most part. 

6. is it hard for you to get over someone?

Not really. I’ve only ever had one boyfriend and it took me two weeks top to get over him. Then again, I wasn’t even that big into him anyway. I’ve had a couple friendships melt away and those took longer to get over. Not sure I’m entirely over them. I think it just depends on the strength of the relationship and probably also the type. I really don’t peg myself as one who would find it hard to get over failed romantic en-devours, based on that past experience. 

7. what was your life like last year?

Strap in: Last year was a fucking hot mess. I mean personally as well as whatever the fuck the universe was doing. I started off last year entering Nursing III. I was excited because OB/PEDI was the rotation. I had JUST managed to pass Nursing II the week before Christmas and I truly felt like the luckiest person alive. I went into Nursing III with the impression it wouldn’t be harder than Nursing II BUT I wanted to do well anyway because OB/PEDI is where I want to be. The rotation was hectic and I was feeling the pressure and I ended up struggling. I failed the class by 2 points. Somewhere in the midst of all that I got into Preacher and so I took to drowning my sorrow by thinking of Joe (watching interviews and stuff). And man was I full of sorrow. The entire rest of May and the entirety of June I fell into such a fucking state of depression I was starting to forget literally everything. I lost an entire week of memory to depression during that period. Despite that I got a job as I’d run out of money and I started passing the time doing that. Until I got over the initial “if i mess up im fired” anxiety and got comfortable, at which point I called out frequently because my depression was like “fuck you you’re staying in bed - MENTAL HEALTH DAY LOLOLOL”. I was accepted as a re-entry student and got to try a second attempt at Nursing III. My job told me to go fuck myself (they wanted me to work friday - sunday plus one day during the week minimum - my class schedule was monday, thursday, friday and sorry i wanted a day to rest and a day to study - plus. that friday was non-negotiable. gotta love retail) and fired me. But whatever. Back to school, my priority, I went. I bought physical copies of my books to accompany the online versions. I went to the library to study. I actually studied. I excelled at clinical and I did well on all my exams except one. And then the final came up. And all I needed was a 75 to pass. My average was a 77 for christ sake. But nope. Bombed. 0.7 point failure. I got my grade three days before christmas. I tried to kill myself in front of my mom and my sister (in front of the christmas tree) with my grandma and my sisters boyfriend one room over in the kitchen. I cried for hours in my little sisters arms. I’d ruined christmas. My life was over. 0.7 points and ‘sorry, you failed out of nursing school - the last 4 years of your life was pointless’. I tried to appeal. I tried EVERYTHING. The dean of nursing told me I had no case for an appeal (my failure was my own), my only option was to re-enter the program and start from scratch. I asked her, as calmly and composed as I could muster being on the verge of tears, what steps I needed to take to re-enter. She told me, “do you really want to continue to waste your time and money at an institution you’ve already failed?”. I wanted to fucking kill her. I wanted to slit my own throat right in front of her and bleed out over her desk. I cried instead. I was so pissed at myself. Why couldn’t I be a Normal Adult and not cry until I got outside the fucking building at least? I spent the last two weeks of the year with my head so bruised it hurt to touch it or lay down on a pillow even, trying to forget literally everything, how I literally ruined my own life because I wasn’t smart enough, by sleeping as much as I could and spending the hours I was awake thinking about Joe because at least thinking of him made me a little happier.

Yes. I cry with literally almost every emotion.

9. who did you last see in person?

My grandma.

10. are you good at hiding your feelings?

I tend to be. The only time I am not is if I am so overwhelmed I don’t have the energy. Or if I am so upset I’m literally having a breakdown. Then I’m not.

No.

I kinda just want to go to bed. This whole thing has gotten too personal and I’m like half on the verge of tears and half so angry at myself I could scream.

See above. I was alright before that, though. Believe me I was.

I don’t fucking know. Men are disgusted by my appearance and usually do not appear within a 30 mile radius let alone touch me.

I have been fortunate to go to NYC quite a few times. Benefits of having a friend who lives there. However, the amazement of it has certainly worn off. It’s a little frustrating to see how some people become so elitist about it. Yes, it’s a cool place, but listen, just because it’s a cool place doesn’t mean every other place is shit. It’s kind of annoying to watch your friend go on and on about how they’re a “native” and therefore “non-natives” don’t understand how awesome their city is while at the same time actively hating all the parts that make people like the city in the first place. It’s hard to explain. But I’m over that elitist attitude.
