Don't Go To Sleep, Don't Rest Your Head
Dad!RE6!Leon x F!Reader
This is a sequel to Holding Our Dreams As You Lie To Rest. Use of D/N for Daughter's Name.
Oh, how tiny his beloved daughter was; when all 7 pounds of her could fit snugly in the nook of his arm; when she could still sit on his broad shoulders and feel the sky beneath her tiny fingers, the only weight he proudly bore on shoulders that usually held humanity’s suffering; when she would be carried home in his arms whenever she grew tired from walking. He missed being able to hold the world in his arms, push her stroller, and help her with the laces of her shoes but she’s a big girl now, ready to take on life outside of the comforts of her home, beyond her father’s reach.
“Honey, call me if you need anything okay?” Leon repeats for the nth time that day, arms crossed as he looks over her things again.
“Yes dad, I will. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” she reiterates. Her smile boasts confidence, sure of herself that she can do this away from her comfort zone.
Leon’s heart squeezes a bit, the transition from “daddy” to simply “dad” making him feel a bit more sentimental though he swears it’s just him missing his little miracle before she’s even really left.
“Remember: no boys and no excessive drinking. Got it?” he sternly adds as he gently strokes her hair. Hair that reminded him of her mother in every way possible.
“Yes, dad. No boys and no drinking–”
“And no caving in to reckless behavior. Also, careful with sororities; they can do more harm than good. Find friends who are up to the standards you set for yourself,” Leon adds.
His daughter groans slightly before nodding, promising she won’t do any of the things Leon doesn’t want her to do.
“Dad, I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do, okay? I’ll be fine. Besides, I’m grown now. I’m perfectly capable of making sound decisions, I’m not a little girl anymore.”
“Nonsense, you’ll always be my little girl no matter what,” Leon retorts with a teasing grin as he practically fights the tears threatening to spill from his waterline, bringing her in for one last papa bear hug before sending her off to college. Though she won’t admit it, she knew that deep down she’ll always be his little girl; he would always be there for her– for every victory and for every frustration. Just yesterday Leon was guiding her hand in writing her name for the first time; life is certainly a fickle little thing.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Not less than a few months later, Leon and his team are deployed for a mission. Leon’s faced plenty of outbreaks, always expecting the same outcome: mass casualty and the loss of members on his team but this mission unsettles him the most; the outbreak parameter encompasses where his daughter studies and currently lives in and judging from the intel provided by his superiors and news outlets, things are looking very grim for the inhabitants of that city. He’s tried phoning her multiple times and her signs of activity are short bursts, her responses being quick and short; many times she’s messaged that a call wouldn’t be safe because there’s “creatures” that react to even the faintest sound. The first time she sent that message, Leon immediately got up to pack his things and head to the headquarters to deploy himself into that mission, breaking his daughter’s rule on not letting him go on far missions. He swore to her mother that he would not let anything get to their daughter and he is bent on keeping this promise up, at the cost of his own life if this is how the situation plays out. Finally, their choppers arrive at the area and once again, everything is reminiscent of Raccoon City and Tall Oaks; cars littering the streets, burning fires scattered on the damp road, closed shops, and bloodied roads. Not a single noise can be heard and not a single sign of life can be detected; it doesn’t take dying to see Hell when you are standing right in the middle of the decay of a city, once bustling with life. Leon recognizes the place, spotting a signage with chipping paint nearby, displaying all the top locations in that city like malls, zoos, hospitals, and colleges. “Fuck, I’m only 15 minutes away from D/N.” he thinks. He contemplates moving to where her dorm is but he knows she’s smarter than that; she’s moved somewhere safer. He taught her after all, she learned from one of the best agents in the D.S.O. Mumbling a quick prayer, he reaches into his phone and tries to contact her number and prays that her ringtone doesn’t go off mid-escape. After waiting for a few minutes, she doesn’t pick up. Once more, his worry grows as he notices that she was last active 2 days ago. Their team is given instruction to start moving so they move, keeping their footfalls light and as muted as possible to avoid drawing attention to them.
Night fell and the sun rose, a warm glow cast over the shell of a city’s former glory. All night, Leon and his partner had walked around the place but not seeing any survivors, only more of the infected. Though they had wandered around the city almost all night long, there was a spot that they hadn’t gone to yet. Walking over to an abandoned apartment complex, Leon hears faint taps against a wall. The taps were rhythmic, an intentional beat created with each tap; soon, a hoarse voice calling for help could be heard, his heart lodging itself in his throat. Him and his partner split up, inspecting different floors before meeting up once again. He climbs the stairs, his heart feeling more like a ticking time bomb than an actual organ. He inspects each room, a keen eye not missing a single detail until he reaches an empty apartment with doors broken down.
“Dad!” He hears her, he hears his girl. His feet take him where he hears her voice, nothing else in the world mattering besides coming to her rescue and getting her out of that hellhole. He finally sees her and pulls her in for a hug, a hand coming up to cradle the back of her head as he presses kisses to the crown of her head. A part of him feels relieved to have found her still breathing but another part of him feels like a failure for exposing her to the world’s ugly side, a side he never dreamt of ever showing to her.
“Honey, a-are you alright?” he worriedly asks as he scans her up and down. Her clothes are torn and there's a bloody spot somewhere in her knee then he sees it: a fresh bite.
“D/N, we have to move now. There’s a vaccine that’s on trials right now and so far it’s doing good on tests so I’m going to have you vaccinated, okay? We’ll get out alive, you’ll be fine. Keep that bite covered for me, sweetie.”
He presses one more kiss against her forehead, not missing how cold she’s gotten and almost all color from her face disappearing. She looks at him through glossy eyes, nodding before wrapping her arm around his neck as he helps her out of the spot.
“I’ve located my daughter. She’s a survivor, send medical help.” he radioes.
“I’ve got you, sweetie. Stay strong, we got this right?” he softly asks with a weak grin.
“Y-yeah. W-we… do…” she mumbles, her response almost coming out in a whisper.
She doesn’t have much time left before the infection progresses; her temperature is dropping fast, her eyes are turning pinker with each moment, and her pulse is absolutely speeding so he does his best to urge her to hurry. Finally, they’re out of the building and near the extraction point.
He turns to face D/N to tell her that they’re almost there but is instead met with a low groan. A groan similar to that of the infected. One look at the greenish tinge to her skin is enough to tell him about his daughter’s current situation. D/N lifts her head up, cloudy irises zeroing in on Leon’s neck as the smell of death emanates from her bloodied mouth.
“D/N, please, hold on just a little longer– we’re almost there–” Leon persuaded her. He looked into her eyes again and saw a tiny flicker of his little girl flash on irises that grew even cloudier with each moment– scared and confused. She’s holding on, for his and her sake. She’s hanging by a thin thread but she knows she has her dad to pull her back up and deliver her from this hell; he’ll always protect her. Leon is not a man to break promises.
Despite being a few steps away from the extraction point, there isn’t a chopper or armored car in sight. D/N emits another low groan, this time much louder than earlier. With each movement of her mouth, he can hear the audible clicking of her jaw. She pulls away from him hastily, keeping her head away from his vision so he wouldn’t see the state of utter decay and decomposition her face is morphing into. The face, where her dearly departed mother lived through, is now morphing into a mass of bloody growths and putrid boils; it’s as if she’s defacing the face who carried her for a long nine months, a mockery of the love her father and mother shared. She felt immense guilt for failing to keep herself safe, putting her father into a state of more turmoil but she can’t stop it; no longer can she continue to keep the urge to dive in to a nice, warm neck at bay. Before she can get a chance to hold herself back and try to grapple with her humanity, a switch is turned. Gone is the sweet, loving, and saintly girl there was days ago.
“D/N? D/N, listen to me. Listen to my voice–” Leon says but his words are cut off when she pounces at him, teeth bared to try and yank out his innards.
Tears spill from his face, blurring his vision. How cruel must fate be that out of all the possibilities his little girl could make her exit from this world, this undignified death is what is set for her. His gun is right by his side and with a simple pull of a trigger, another infected is gone but this is not another infected, she’s his daughter. She’s his flesh and blood, the personification of two souls who loved in one. She is the parting gift of his Y/N, the maker of all his dreams. He can’t bring himself to take her out, though it’s the most merciful thing he can give her rather than have her linger for long in this form. He manages to push her away, sending her stumbling back. He reaches for his gun and keeps his finger trained on the trigger but he doesn’t pull; he can’t and doesn’t want to.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry.” is all he can say.
He knows that her mother is probably missing her, only having seen her grow from her place above and never actually having the chance to embrace her yet he couldn't help but grow a little selfish. Was it wrong for him to want her to stay alive? Was it wrong for him to have more time with the last thing keeping him going?
“I know you want to see our daughter but must you see her this soon? I want her around for just a little longer, honey. Can’t you do that? Can I be selfish for a bit?”, he silently pleads to her.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
“This letter for my precious flower D/N from her dear dad (and mom). Only read when moving out of our home to start your life away from me :) To my dear daughter, you were anticipated and cherished before we even saw you on a monitor. Ever since I held and raised you, these sensations only seemed to have grown a thousandfold. You are my precious D/N and before you grow before my eyes (as well as your mom in heaven), there’s things I want you to know: I love your mother very much. I am not a very prayerful man but I sincerely pray with all that I have that you will find someone who will treat you the way I treated you and your mother. It won’t matter if me and whoever you will love don’t get along in terms of interests but as long as they look at you with the twinkle of love in their eyes even when you’re doing something weird, I find comfort that I can entrust your heart to them. You never have to be alone and although there’s going to be times where I won’t get this “being a dad” thing right, I’m always doing my best for you.”
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
D/N lunges towards him again and narrowly avoids her, moving out of her way as his mind grapples with one idea that seems most desirable in that moment.. D/N advances towards his direction again but he doesn’t move, craning his neck to expose more skin, in order to get a better bite. He shuts his eyes, sadly chuckling to himself. A family reunion doesn’t sound so bad. Somewhere nice, somewhere warm…
A rancid whiff of decay hits his nostril sharply, causing him to gag slightly but he keeps his neck still free for her to feast on. She bellows an ear-splitting screech but a gunshot follows after that. D/N’s zombified body falls limp against Leon but she’s still moving, shrieking. He sees his partner with his gun trained on his daughter’s head, the first shot of his being on her leg.
“This is my little girl! Don’t shoot! Don’t–”
A shot rings through the air, a ringing that will haunt him for the rest of his cursed life.
D/N finally falls limp, blood staining his gear as she lays motionless against his body. He sinks down, cradling her in his arms as he rocks her back and forth. Her body is curled up against him, just like when she was but a tiny baby. To Leon, she still is. Always was.
“My baby,” he mutters as he lets choked sobs free. He cries the hardest he’s ever done; he cries for himself, his daughter, his wife, his broken promises, for all the parents that have seen their child die in their arms. For the life his daughter never got to fully live out.
“My little D/N. Daddy’s here, daddy’s got you. It’s okay. You’re okay. You’re safe now. You can rest my beautiful angel.”
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
“You’re going to see a whole lot of interesting places and by now, you’ve figured that you and I are tiny things in a grand scheme of things; life is interesting not because of the comforts but because of the challenges, the experiences you get from these things. I’ve always hated being away from your mother when she was still pregnant with you but when I was out there, I thought about her and the beautiful little girl she’s carrying in her belly and suddenly I had a reason to live, to keep fighting. I had to do what I did so that the future you live in will be peaceful; you won’t have to be afraid of monsters under your bed or monsters in your closet. Know that even when you’re a big girl, it’s still okay to cry and it’s definitely okay to ask for help. Don’t push your emotions away and feel them; don’t resort to alcohol, trust me– you’re going to harm yourself and the people who care about you. Indulge in some fun, it won’t hurt to be happy but don’t indulge too much– too much of something is bad (just as too little of something).
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
9 years ago.
D/N’s team was losing by 5 points, her team rattled and tense from all the pressure dawning in on them. It was kind of funny, seeing all these nine-year-olds faces go from smiles and giggles to knitted eyebrows and deep frowns. Everyone’s uniforms were dirty, dark soil staining every kid’s formerly white knee-socks, much to the dismay of some mothers on the benches tasked with laundry in their respective homes– not that Leon cared, he can always get his sweet daughter a new pair; all that matters is that she isn’t afraid to get a little sweaty and play rough.
By now, every parent invested in this game is standing up with their hands on their hips and heads tilted towards the scoreboard. The air feels electric, cheering and chanting from both sides growing louder with each passing moment. Then, a kid from the opposing team hits a home run and scores for her team which triggers the parents of the opposing team to express their joy at the success. D/N doesn’t look too disappointed but she doesn’t look too happy either, just very tired. Her eyes scan the crowd, looking for her dad. Chris had to send her to the game since Leon was still on a mission earlier on that day but luckily, he managed to get it done fast and zipped for the stadium. Finally she spots him, her dad waving at her from the benches and quickly making his way down the stairs and towards her with his arms opened wide.
“Daddy!” she beams. “You’re here!”
She drops her glove and rushes to him, her own little arms opened. He catches up to her, bending down to scoop her into a bone-crushingly, breath-stealing hug. Mud and bits of grass will probably stick on his navy blue polo, the mud drying up and causing a stubborn stain but he could not careless; what’s there to worry about when D/N is all smiles and pure happiness?
“Yeah, I’m here honey. I can’t miss your big game, just couldn’t do it,” he responds while still hugging her. He pulls away before taking out a towel from a bag he brought, wiping her sweaty forehead. Flyaways are everywhere in her braided hair, other smaller strands sticking to her forehead; some dust is also sticking to her flushed face but she looks ecstatic nevertheless.
“Daddy I lost!” she exclaims. Not a single trace of defeat is on her face– she doesn’t even look the least bit exhausted from all that running and catching.
“It’s okay, sweetpea. It’s alright, we’re all still very proud of you,” the “we” in question being her uncles, aunts, Leon, and Y/N.
“You did great out there, champ! You were absolutely speeding back there, you looked really cool!” he comments as he throws her two thumbs up. D/N’s eyes sparkle, chest puffing with confidence upon hearing from Leon about how well she performed in that game.
“Thanks, dad! But I’m really tired, my legs feel like jelly. Ice cream?” she suggests as she throws him the most soft-looking, puppy-dog eyes she can muster. The thing is, she didn’t need to do puppy eyes when he already planned to take her out for some celebratory sweets.
“Of course! Anything for my pro baseball player,” he responds. Standing back up, he puts the towel back in his bag and puts some alcohol in her hands. Taking her tinier ones in his, they make their way out of the field and into the car, where she’ll enjoy her sweet treat.
The loss of her team doesn’t matter when to Leon’s eyes, she will always be his big winner.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────
“My hands are getting a little sore (sorry honey, I’m not the biggest fan of writing) and I’m running out of the most flowery words to say but basically, the main takeaways of this entire letter are simple: I love you, I’d do anything for you, and that I wish you would choose me to be your dad in every universe. In every twisted reality, in the next life and the lives after those, you would give me the highest honor of having you call me ‘dad’. Well, if I’m not going to be your dad then I guess the most I can contribute for you is that hopefully, you will have the most patient, kind, and understanding dad ever. He’ll be able to provide for you and your mother’s needs and will be willing to let down his life for the two of you, at any cost. Don’t worry though, I might watch over you as a tiny little firefly. That’s all and don’t you ever, ever, ever forget that you always have me and your mother and you’re always welcome home. All my love, your dad (and mom).”

Tick, tock, tick, tock. You glanced at your watch, the other two were supposed to be here ten minutes ago.
“Calm down [name], it’ll work! Our plan is foolproof” He chuckled to himself, his red hair swaying a bit. You glanced at his meal, he had ordered a starter. You hadn’t been hungry, so you simply got some water. Luca had scoffed everything down, well almost everything. Even the post-match hunger couldn’t convince him to eat some simple vegetables that came on the side.
You smiled to yourself, “are you even going to eat that?” you moved your hand to the side and grabbed your fork, moving it towards his plate. He made a defensive pout sort of expression. Before giving up and sliding the plate towards you. And you continued chatting.
“Are you going to order anything else? It’s been an hour since you both finished your food” The rather agitated waitress said, the still smile not moving. You glanced nervously at Luka, neither of you had seen Seele and Bronya, the entire reason you had been here.
“Yeah! I’ll get… that please” Luka chirped, pointing to something on the menu. “And they’ll have [your favourite meal idk] “ The waitress nodded, walking away quickly. “I mean, we’re here already?Might as well get some food too.” He chuckled and shrugged.
You didn’t question how he knew your favourite.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You both waited by the fountain, your eyes were scanning the crowd— and mostly Luka, who was currently trying to pick up a pigeon. To no avail.
FINALLY! You spotted Bronya walk out of the flower shop with Seele, you quickly grabbed the back of Luka’s vest thing, and yanked him towards you.
“Hey— be careful next time” he huffed,rubbing the back of his neck.Before he saw what you saw. “Wait— they didn’t buy anything?!C’mon that was the best plan we have tried so far!” he whined slightly,running his hands through his hair before grinning. “Well! we’ll just have to try again”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You watched as Luka tapped his fingers on the bench, the other two were late again. He seemed restless, or maybe excited. Maybe both. You sighed, resting your chin in your hands.
“do i have something on my face?” He said, and you snapped back. He was looking you directly in the eyes, and for a moment, one moment, you wanted nothing more than to cup his cheeks in your hands and kiss him.
At that thought, you forced a cough, trying to fight the heat rising in your cheeks. “It’s nothing, i just zoned out” You chuckle, and for a second he frowns, before his phone beeps, and he quickly— far too quick to be normal— grabs his phone. He sighs, but you can see his eyes glitter in a way.
“Bronya and Seele aren’t going, apparently there’s some business about the underground they need to sort out.” He says, leaning down to tighten his ice skates. “it’s just us two again”
You stood up, shaking your feet a bit to get used to the weight on your feet, you grabbed Luka’s arm and pulled him up too. He stumbled a bit, but you managed to catch him. You couldn’t help looking at him for a few seconds longer than usual.
He started to walk forward towards the rink, happily dragging you along now, he seemed eager to get on the ice. I mean, it was the best chance ever! If you fell over he could catch you and it would be just oh so romantic, and maybe afterwards he’d be able to ask you to be his partner like he’d been meaning to for the last month. Seele had officially put the boot down, if he wasn’t going to say something. She would do it for him.
You both stood at the edge of the ice, Luka was eager, too eager. He immediately set a foot out, but he clearly didn’t expect it to slip so much as it did.And his leg gave out under him. You managed to catch him , and the look of embarrassment almost made it harder to not laugh than it already was. He was bright red!
He tried again, this time a bit more careful. He stumbled and wobbled around the place, managing to stand up straight while clinging to the railing. After a set of finger guns and almost slipping again. You joined Luka on the ice, it was a bit slippy. But you were able to more or less stay upright. Unlike your friend, you grabbed both his hands, the warm skin of one contrasting with the cool metal of the other.
With some movement you were able to go slightly backwards, you did almost fall. But you got the hang of it, Luka however did not. And every few metres he’d fall again, you’d catch him.
You weren’t able to catch him the last time, he had been improving, and wanted to go a bit of length without your help, but ended up slipping on the ice, and ended up with his palm and knees scratched by the now roughened ice.
Now you were both sitting in an attached cafe, hot chocolates in hand. You watched as he tried to discretely eat the cream before continuing to drink it, but with the low quality wood stir he had picked up it wasn’t going too well. He looked up, and you spent a full moment staring into those damned blue eyes. He tilted his head, and scrunched his eyes slightly in confusion. But you just chuckled in response.
As the time passed, you could sense him getting nervous, his legs were bouncing and he kept glancing around the room. You knew what was going to happen, he wasn’t exactly subtle.
But it was still impossible to not smile when it finally happened. When he finally turned to you and smiled that same damn smile that made your heart feel like it was about to explode. “I’ve been thinking about this for a while, so, wanna be my partner?Like officially and all—“
You grinned, and he seemed confused for a moment. Not seeming to get it. “Can i kiss you?”
“what?”
“can i kiss you” you repeated, and he nodded. You moved forward softly, kissing him softly on the lips, his lips tasted faintly like cherry chapstick, and you faintly recognised it as one of your old ones.
“you stole my chapstick again didnt you?”

One In A Medallion
Chapter 1: First Day
Summary: There's a smoothie shop right outside Moldak State Park. Familiar faces enjoy frequenting the smoothie shop. Smoothies and friendship await!!!!
Very specific, sit-com style modern AU of @heroesspirit! @wildsage00 came up with the idea and I made it into words hehe
Chapter 1 Summary: Eras has his first day at his new job. Twilight gets a smoothie on his way to work. Kiri drives a large number of children to school. 2.7k, fluff.
Excerpt under the cut :D
Eras steeled himself as Sky pushed the key into the lock and then twisted the sign to display OPEN. His first day at his new job just officially began. You can do this, he reminded himself. A smoothie shop couldn’t possibly be more difficult than an active war zone. Surely.
“Show time,” one of the other employees said. It was the teenager with pink hair— Legend, he remembered. He flipped the switch to turn the drive thru on then pressed a button on his headset to connect it. Beside them, Herb finished setting up the last of the smoothie equipment, head bouncing to the beat of the music playing through their headphones. They tapped on the order display screen in front of them and it flashed to life.
Sky joined Eras behind the counter and sat on one of the stools in front of the register screen. Eras rested his cane against the counter, low enough that it wouldn’t be seen by the customers, and settled on the other stool.
“You don’t have to worry about hiding your cane,” Sky said kindly. Eras glanced at him nervously, ears pinning back against his head.
Sky smiled softly. “I mean, I’m not going to make you show everyone who comes in, obviously. But I want to be sure you know this is a very disability friendly workplace. I’m disabled, and so are most of the people I hire.”
“Oh,” Eras said. His chest filled with warmth at Sky’s words, pushing out some of his insecurity. He was still learning to navigate his disabilities, so he wasn’t yet confident enough to share them with the world.
“No pressure,” Sky said. His ears wiggled slightly as he spoke.
Eras racked his mind for a proper response. Once again, he was saved by a ringing; this time, it was the bell above the door. The sound was enough to let the employees know someone was entering, but not too sharp of a noise.
Eras straightened his back, nerves alight in his chest, and glanced at Sky. Sky’s posture was relaxed, one leg casually resting over the other and his elbow on the arm of the stool. Beneath the end of the leg of Sky’s pants, Eras could see brightly colored, long socks with cartoon birds on them. He smiled, and turned to face the first customer.
“Hi, welcome to Gold Medallion! What can I get for you?” Sky asked.
The process really was simple. Sky put the orders into the computer and took the payments, then Herb and Legend made the smoothies. There was one drive thru order that Legend took while Eras was watching, but he didn’t focus too much on that. He wouldn’t be trained on drive thru for a few weeks.
“You think you’re ready to try on your own?” Sky asked.
Eras took a deep breath. “Yes.”
Sky beamed. “Great! I’ll watch the first few while you get the hang of it, so don’t worry if you forget something.”
“Okay,” Eras said. There was no one else in line, so Eras rehearsed the words in his head with the background noise of smoothies being blended.
Hello, welcome to Gold Medallion. What can I get for you?
Of course. Do you want to add anything to that?
Can I get a name for the order?
Your total is… Are you paying with cash or card?
The door bell rang. Eras watched as a man in a cowboy hat walked through the door and made his way to the counter.
“Hello, welcome to Gold Medallion. What can I get for you?” Eras asked.
“Can I get one mangonada and one grassamel, please?” The man asked. He had an accent Eras couldn’t place. His voice was smooth— Eras had to hold back a smile at the unintentional pun.
“Of course. Do you want to add anything to those?”
“Nope, just as they come,” the man said with a smile.
Eras tried to smile back, but he was pretty sure it didn’t work. He was too focused on pressing the correct buttons on his screen.
“Can I get a name for the order?”
“Twilight.”

Darkness finds; 2022-2024.
OOPS. Looks like we jumped the gun. Earlier this month, we shared the original shorter list of @postpunkindustrial’s finds from our previous music roll (Ω+) and already it’s gotten some fever. We didn’t realize we set the trigger a few days earlier than intended, just as more of these titles were being released for all of us to have.
Good news: We upped the finds five-fold since then. We found a lot of curious stuff worth hearing and an era to appreciate, so here’s the list we intended on posting. Industrial, breakcore, new wave, goth rock, no-wave, hip-hop, noise, and experimental sounds are all on the table - and then some.
In a never-ending race for us to catch up on everything we haven’t listened to yet, we’ll still take more. It’s possible that we’ll use them for future purposes (posting, airplay, etc.) and for you to get some ideas, because that’s what we do here. But, don't thank us, thank him for sharing the wealth. It’s the right thing to do.

Hi! I saw your headconnon post about Spencer Reid and I wanted to give it a try!
I'm ,30 years old female. I have short curly black hair . olive skin with a lot freckles / birthmarks, and green eyes. I'm covered in tattoos and I have my nose and lip pierced. My personal style is a mix between rockabilly and grunge. I'm very short, 4'10" and I'm a size 6 in jeans/dresses I'm petite but I do have some curves. My personality type is ESFJ, Enneagram personality type 6, Virgo Sun and Pisces Moon.
I'm very very insecure about myself. My voice my body my intelligence (I'm dyslexic) you name it
I'm a middle school science teacher, I honestly love my job even though it is really hard sometimes and it makes me cry lol
I'm Sassy, sarcastic but genuine and sweet. I have a dry sense of humor but I absolutely love puns. I'm Hardworking but also a procrastinator. I'm a kid at heart, definitely more crafty then artistic I don't like that I do not have much of back bone at times, I try to avoid conflict like it's the plague so I tend to indifferent a lot of the time too.
I'm a non judgmental person and a good listener. I have ADHD so I would lose my own head that wasn't attached to my body, so I have a lot of planers and sticky notes everywhere. I love having fun with my friends. Exploring new cafes or little things in our city. I love going to a local coffee shop on rainy nights and setting with a book and coffee, black coffee I don't like any cream.or sugar. I love the look of city lights at night. Not much of an outdoor person is endless unless it is for a concert.
I love any age or genre of rock music, I scare very easily but I love horror movies. I'm really nerdy, I love playing D&D with my friends, reading, anime, doctor who ect ect.I collect mugs. I probably have over a 120 at this point. My 15lb pekingese dog is my baby. An odd hoppy of mine is I take only liquor and wine bottles use them as vases for flower bouquets I make
How come all of you guys sound so cool bruh???
Where do I begin?
You guys have so much in common but are still such different people
Binge watching doctor who together for SURE
Speaking of remembering things, he’s so understanding about your ADHD
His eidetic memory comes in super handy! He reads your sticky notes and is your own personal calendar!!
Coffee. Dates
This boy loves his coffee
We KNOW he loves his coffee
Home coffee dates. Favorite cafe coffee dates. New cafe coffee dates
He def needs someone as non judgmental as you in his life .
Poor boy has so much trauma he needs to get out of him and having you to actively listen and care for him when he needs it is so foreign but absolutely needed.
Spence is always wondering how your day went. He wants to know alll about what happened at school.
And is there when you need to cry :(((
I think we can kind of tell that he’s not very outdoorsy
So you guys stay in a lot or go out to do things indoors.
You introduce him to a lot of new music!!!
Idk if you like Muse but I feel like it’s the perfect blend of hard rock and classical and would be spectacular for you both.
You’re the edgy he needs bro I’m not lying.
You’re still nerdy and compatible with him but you certainly have more edge and it gets him out of his comfort zones in the best way!
He pretends he’s gonna steal your dog 💀
And says it’s his son/ daughter (sorry idk what gender your dog is but it sounds cute)
What if he visited your class one time and helped you with a lesson to the kids???
That would be adorrrrrable
Anyway
Okay dnd with this boi
He gets so serious about the story lines bro
Okay you guys so rarely fight because you both hate conflict
If there is something one of you needs to bring up it’s not in an angry or accusing manner at all because neither of you like that.
Spencer is so good to you when you’re insecure.
He often times feels similar so he knows how to handle it really well.
He doesn’t overwhelm you or get upset at you but cares for you and let’s you know how he sees you. 🥰🥰🥰

Tri-Arame - Esoteric Equipment
Primary Pairing: N/A Starring: Flash Pyre, Nullsilver Luna Secondary Pairing Trio: YuuAyuSetsu Rating: T Words: 656 Fandom: D&D, Love Live Nijigasaki Time Frame: D&D, ??? / Niji, sometime during their 1st (?) year of college Event: Promptober 2023 Event Source: Idol Fanfic Heaven channel on Discord Prompt: Esoteric
---------
Author's Note: Primary entry for the 6th
Summary: Flash and Nullsilver shop for some unusual items
---------
“Eh? Whadaya want, kid?”
Flash inhaled and was about to open his mouth when a hand touched his. A silent reminder not to lose his cool. Thus, he bit down on the retort he had been about to issue.
“Give ya ten platinum fer the forged.” The grizzled shopkeep grumbled.
Flash blinked. He hadn’t expected that.
“Cayos is not for sale.” Nullsilver stated.
Anyone familiar with the elven girl would have been able to detect some irritation under her monotone.
“So again, whadaya kids want?”
“We heard this shop was the best place to find some… how shall we say, esoteric equipment.” Flash explained.
“Oh?” The man seemed to lighten a little.
“Yes, we were told we could find keys to the drop zone here.”
“Aye,” The man nodded, “just got a shipment of ‘em last week.”
“Blinker fluid.”
“By cask or flask.”
“A box of grid squares.”
“Might take a bit a searchin’ in the back room.”
“And winter air for windmills.”
“A popular item this time a year. Inventory’s runnin’ low. Better buy quick.”
“And that’s our list.”
“Right.” The shopkeep stooped behind his counter for a moment. “Here we have a fine selection of keys to all manner of zones.” A sizable ring of keys jangled in his hand.
“Drop zones, specifically.” Flash reminded.
“Right.” He shuffled through the keys. “Ah, yes, here.” He indicated one that appeared to have been intricately inlaid with gold. “Drop Zone Alpha, the finest of them all. Seven gold.”
“Five.” Flash countered.
“Six.”
“Sold.”
Flash reached for his coin pouch but noticed a subtle signal from Nullsilver. Oh, thank the gods, finally.
“On second thought,” he smirked, “I think we should just collect your bounty.”
“What?” The man growled.
“Surely you didn’t think the local nobility was unaware of your fraudulent activities. Cayosin,” He turned to the warforged behind him, “if you would be so kind.”
Cayosin produced a set of manacles and began to step around the counter.
The shopkeep shouted something in a language Flash did not know. A door burst open and several armed figures filed out. Weapons already drawn, they charged.
Flash smirked and sent a fireball past them to take care of further reinforcements.
“What the…” The shopkeep sputtered at the explosion in his backroom. “How?”
“I had Weyog Kornari disable your antimagic device.” Nullsilver explained, naming her spider-like automaton companion.
She dropped a pair of metallic spheres. One shifted into a cat-like automaton that pounced at the closest guard. The other sprouted wings and shot into the air before firing small thunderbolts from its beak at another guard.
For his part, Flash wasted no time in sending a cone of flame into a pair of nearby opponents. All the while, Cayosin subdued and manacled the shopkeeper.
Nearly as quickly as it started, the fight was over. Unprepared to face the magical might of a sorcerer, the mechanical menaces of an artificer and the strength of a warforged, the fraudster and his goons swiftly surrendered.
---------
“I think I know which character Setsuna-chan is going to play next.” Yuu said as she looked up from the draft she had been given to review.
Setsuna smiled. “Flash Pyre has been fun to write so far. And I think playing a caster might be a nice change of pace. Although I will still miss playing Lacey Rayshun…”
“I’m sure Shizuku-chan would be willing to run a game from the earlier time.” Yuu assured.
“Is Rina-chan is up still playing Luna?” Ayumu inquired.
“She said yes when I asked.” Setsuna replied. “And since Nullsilver Luna is an elf, she would still be alive in this time frame and available for her to play.”
“What characters do you have for me and Ayumu to play?” Yuu asked.
“Well, there’s Keltahk Cayosin, the warforged fighter from this chapter… as well as…” Setsuna reached for her notes and began to explain her roster of prebuilt potential player characters.
---------
Author's Note Continued: I made a joke in the IFH event channel about how for this prompt I should write references to my old unpublished D&D stories that none of my current readers would understand. Then I spent wa~y too much time rereading said old works to remind myself of a few things, only to get distracted and end up rereading other chapters as well.
But if I learned anything from the venture, it's that I'm glad I haven't published any of it. If I do ever decide to start posting those stories, I will have to either write entirely new stuff, like this event entry, or do some serious revamping of the old stuff. Either way, LL has the lions share of my attention, so I have no intention of redirecting too much of my efforts away from it at this time.
Anyway, if any my current readers remember, the first stories I posted here on tumblr were not Love Live fanfics. Instead, I had tried my hand at participating in a sort of event over on the fansite Sukutomo. The theme was to create "idolsonas" and draw or write about them in the Love Live universe. I translated a handful of my D&D characters into this world, and Flash and Luna were among those chosen. Ryqoshay, my screen namesake, and Yozakura also starred in some of the chapters. So there is some meta esoteric stuff for the prompt.
Edit: Almost forgot, got both prior prompts in again, Thunderbolt from '21 and Seven from '22.

Newly married? Well…. What? When? How? With whom??? Guys, I have been there. I can still remember the moment that my husband sent me the first text on 23rd July around 9:30 pm. It was a simple introductory text including a Hi and his name. At first instance, I couldn’t identify him but soon I realized and I got nervous. And, the next morning, we had our first call, and after it, our discussion continued everywhere, every time- from home to metro to office!! The Journey & Wedding Dresses Ideas: Since it was an arranged marriage, and we never met, we both had no clue of each other’s personalities and are unknown to each other before engagement. The journey from engagement to a wedding is known as the courtship of two people soon to be wed. This is when we became familiar with each other and started knowing each other. Since we were living in two different cities, it was a long-distance partnership cum engagement. A lot happened in this four-month journey. We started falling for each other, made it through the ‘honeymoon phase’, felt excited, and took care of small things. Soon, we noticed a few flaws in each other’s personalities. Later, we both decided to start accepting one another for who we are. Soon after, the date of our D-day was finalized on 1st December, which we were actively waiting for. Now, staying far became even tougher, we both started back counting. This is was the next phase of our relationship, the wedding planning phase. At this point, I was kind of out of moves. I wanted to have a simple wedding function with my loved ones. But my parents and my in-laws and almost every individual involved in this process except the bride and groom wanted to have a great Indian wedding that begins up an engagement commitment and is followed by a lavish wedding ceremony. Here, the Perfect Indian Wedding Planning Begins! As we know Indian weddings are all about lots and lots of functions, hippy music, lavish food, amazing décor, and the custom Indian rituals followed for the longest possible time one can remember. There are so many things to do and so little time for that. From finding a perfect venue to getting a caterer that will prepare a meal that your guests cannot forget, it seems like Indian wedding planning can go on forever. Fortunately, I have a super supportive family to take care of all this. And, I decided to take care of the shopping only. Shopping for a wedding dress, however, isn’t all that easy. Every wedding season introduces new trends and styles, unique colour palettes, and a different range of stunning designs to experiment with. Well, after a lot of online surfing on different sites including Amazon, Myntra, Nykaa Fashion, Flipkart, Meesho, Ajio, and offline search in V3S Mall, Pacific Mall, GIP, Chandi Chowk, Karol Bagh, Laxmi Nagar Market, (I visited almost every shopping market of Delhi), finalized dresses for different wedding functions. After my shopping and treatment procedures, I sent a mail to HR for work from home request and packed my bags to move from Delhi to Deoghar. Wall, it was not an easy departure – leaving your comfort zone but it was exciting as well heading for a new life with your future partner and new family. As soon as I reached Deoghar, the wedding preparation was already started. The venue was booked, decorator and photographer were finalized, responsibilities were distributed among family members – all set for the big day. Just a few days waiting for the wedding! During all these preparations, how I can forget to take you through the moment when I met my fiancé for the first time. We both wanted to meet before marriage especially I was very concerned. We were connected for the last few months on phone used to communicate daily through audio calls and video calls but it was all virtual but how we both feel for each other when we meet physically. Our First Meeting Let me tell you I was very nervous, stressed, and worried. He was also going through the same feeling I guess. We decided to meet at Dominos. It was not a kind of date or couple meet; I went there with my younger brother and he came with his sister (my sister-in-law to be) and niece. As I reached the restaurant gate, I could see him from the glass wall. He was in a simple Kurta-Pyjama in light cream and white colour respectively that was giving him a decent and simple gentleman look while I was wearing a dark blue plazzo suit by Indo Era paired up with golden chain and earrings. But what? I was sweating in November at the restaurant gate… My legs were stuck in one place. Anyways with all my left courage, I entered the restaurant and took my seat. After some initial Hey! Hello! And some photo clicks, we start talking. It was hardly 5 minutes, I could see myself confidently talking and how Prakash was making every possible effort to make me calm and comfortable. If you are looking for simple wedding dresses ideas, this option is perfect for casual outings and day Pujas. Get this Dress Also, breaking all the stereotypes, (generally, in India, nand (husband’s sister) is supposed to bother her bhabhi (brother’s wife) and create problems for her) my sister-in-law (to be) was trying to comfort me with funny chit-chat and small talks. Even the little girl, Palak (his niece and my to-be) was striving hard to help me enjoy the moment. That time, I was thinking despite being a bold and confident city girl why I’m so nervous but meanwhile, I was very happy that I’m getting a life partner who actually cares for my comfort and new relations where my happiness matters a lot. Okay, let’s go back to the process for the dream Indian wedding planning and Wedding Dresses Ideas. Haldi & Mehandi Ceremony For mehndi, I wanted to go for a comfortable yet stylish piece. While I’m completely in love with heavy sarees and lehengas, these heavy outfits are tough to carry. And, the Mehandi ceremony takes a whole day full of dancing, singing, laughing, and enjoyment. I found this bottle green suit with heavy embroidery paired up with a matching plain Sharara and a dupatta with minimal work a perfect match. I pair it with some lovely rose and mogra jewelry – Maang tika, earrings, and a floral neckpiece. Where: I got this green suit from Pacific Mall. It is from the Biba. When it comes to the Haldi Ceremony dress, there are a lot of options varying from a brief saree, to a lehenga and another ethnic outfit. Here, “yellow” is defiantly the color of the Ceremony! Among so many trendy options in yellow and especially in multi-colors, I went for a simple pink Kurti -pajama by Aurelia with a heavy golden dupatta. Instead of any artificial jewellery, I decided to go for minimal gold jewelry that includes an earring, maangtika, nath, and a chain. Where: I bought the haldi dress in a garment shop in Delhi. It is from the popular brand Aurila. Wedding dress Ideas: Recommended Options for Haldi & Mehandi Wedding Dresses Ideas & Tips for Mehandi Outfit You may love to stay trendy and offbeat always! But when it comes to choosing your Mehendi function outfit, it’s a better idea to pick traditional Mehendi colors shades like green and yellow. Here, you can easily combine it with pops of other colors to an interesting look while maintaining a traditional Mehendi vibe.Since you are the bride, your Mehendi designs will be elaborate and you don’t want sleeves coming in the way. Here, I had made a mistake and selected a full sleeve suit. Always go for outfits that are either sleeveless or that have shorter sleeves to get your Mehendi application undisturbed.Whether you are going for a western top or kurta, for the bottom wear, go for palazzos, ghararas, shararas, skirts, etc. to keep your outfit hassle-free. Mainly when you are applying henna on your feet and legs, you need bottom wear that has a loose fit silhouette to remove the cloth instantly. Also Read: 10 Best Indian Wedding Dresses Ideas for Women Kasatel This is not a popular ritual nationwide; it happens in some Brahmin weddings. So let me give you a quick brief about this ritual— The groom and bride both visit the temple (In Deoghar, we go to the famous ‘Baba Mandir’) and their Kuldevis with their relatives and band baja to worship and request them to come to their wedding functions. It is more like a Barat! Since this is a day-ritual, where I have to walk for a certain distance, I selected a lightweight art silk lehenga choli paired with a net dupatta in a sky-pink colour combination that gives an easy-breezy look that’s just perfect for a sunny day. The elegant stonework on the skirt, as well as the blouse, further adds glamour. Wedding dress Ideas: Similar Lehnga Options for Kasatel (Day function) Other Pre-wedding Rituals Mandap: While keeping it simple, not too heavy, and yet wanting to wear a saree, I bought this maroon saree with golden work. Jogtaphi: In this ritual, the bride wears a pagdi. This light pink Anarkali with mirror work perfectly match my requirement. Matrika Puja: I carried this half georgette and half net saree in light orange and cream colour combination. Wedding dress Ideas: Similar Choices for Saree & Suit The D-day The most memorable part of the whole Indian wedding planning is witnessing the elegance of the Bride on her special day. My wedding lehenga is something I had been thinking about since I was a little girl. But unlike most of the brides, I did not have months to spend on selecting a bridal lehenga for my D-day. Fortunately, in my first visit to Chandni Chowk, I found this amazing marron bridal lehenga replate with motif and embroidery work. The lehenga is broadly pleated and is covered with stonework. The choli looks gorgeous because of the exquisite thread and embroidery work all over. The net dupatta has a golden-maroon embroidered border and golden latkans as well. I pair this stunning outfit with a golden net dupatta to accomplish a classy draping style. After finalizing the lehenga the next important thing is the bridal jewellery and it is super important to have the right match! Instead of following the red-green and maroon-green trend, I carried Kundan jewellery with a hint of maroon! Where: I bought this bridal lehnga from the popular market of Delhi, Chandni Chowk. Wedding dress Ideas: Similar Options for Bridel Lehangas Wedding Dresses Ideas & Tips for Bridel Lehenga 🙂 Be realistic in your expectations- the Lehenga that you’ve seen wearing your favourite celebrity may not be suited to you. Keep your skin colour and body type in mind when buying your lehenga to get a perfect shade & your style. Do not finalise your wedding lehenga before getting your dupatta. It is your dupatta and the blouse that is mostly visible in pictures. I had bought my lehenga without checking for the second dupatta. I had to struggle a lot to get the right match. Check its colour and design. You can either choose a matching dupatta or a contrasting colour as per your choice.A blouse can make or break your look. Think twice about how you want the neck and back of the blouse, before giving the final instruction to the tailor. Instead of following the latest trend blindly, ensure your blouse fits you well and has a comfortable length. When it comes to wedding dresses ideas, climatic condition plays a major role. If you are getting married during summer, opt for light-weight fabrics like chiffon, georgette with lesser embellishments and prints. On the other hand, if you are going to get married during winters, go for heavy fabric, heavy embellishments, and a full-sleeved option. Gugat + Vidai Banarasi sarees have been used for decades in Indian weddings. (For gugat, the bridal saree comes from the groom’s side and the same saree bride has to wear on the vidai). I got this cool-toned purple and gold Banarasi brocade saree! Such a saree was looking really elegant on that night. I paired it with a matching color blouse and heavy gold jewelry. She went for the natural makeup look and adorned my hair in a golden clip. Wedding dress Ideas: Recommended Options in Barasi Saree Reception The reception day is as important as the wedding day! I sported a peach lehenga paired up with some minimal gold jewelry for the evening of the reception focused on a simple, elegant, and contemporary look. The lehenga has minute details in silver-colored thread. In addition, the bling of the stones blends perfectly with the white shimmer every here and there in the lehenga. Wedding dress Ideas: Similar Lehenga Options Wedding & post-wedding events were a full one-month affair starting off with some Poojas and Lagan (Kulproith put some tilak on bride and grom’s forehead) then moving on to Sangeeth + Mehendi Ceremony, Kasatel, Mandap & Matrika Puja in India. This was followed by Marriage Oath Ceremony and then a Reception in Deoghar. Then, post-wedding parties with both families. It felt like an adventure! Make-Up Artist: Nikita Makeovers (Insta id- nikita_raj_mua!). Nikita was simply amazing – like a work of art in just 1 hour did she turn me from a girl-next-door to a gorgeous bridal diva full of elegance! She really knows how to dress up different brides from different cultures & change their make-up and looks according to the occasion! Facial & Massage: Pooja Parlour, Deoghar. Can’t say, I’m fully satisfied with her service, but it was fine. What I like about her service is that she does facials, massages, and all other skincare services at the comfort of your home/ venue! Have you checked the 20 Gorgeous Hairstyles For Indian Wedding Function? Indian Wedding Planning Checklist Do Your Research: Before your begin, your Indian wedding planning, do proper research to know what you really need (or want) and what you don’t in your wedding shopping list. Set a Budget: Trust me, an Indian wedding planning cost can go unlimited. Here, it is best to set your budget and ensure that all your expenses come under it. It will help you from getting disappointed and stressed on your big day! Organized Your Stuff: Organization is vital, sort out and neatly pack all your outfits, innerwear, jewellery, footwear and keep them occasion-by-occasion. you might be already nervous and stressed and the last thing you want to be searching for is the missing pin to drape your dupatta! Avoid Experimenting: You can be someone who loves to try to make up launches and new cuisines. But it comes to your wedding, whether it is an Indian wedding planning or planning wedding in the US, avoid trying out anything new (unless you have had trials) close to your big day – be it food, makeup, or even clothes!. It might turn out something completely different from what you had expected! Stay Calm: No matter how careful you are, something goes wrong somewhere at the last minute. As they say, things get wrong when you least expect it. Instead of brooding over it, stay calm! You don’t need to be panic and let little things ruin your BIG MOMENTS in life! No issue if the make-up is too heavy; or the dupatta is not draped properly… everyone is going to notice – and just you…as you are the QUEEN of the day! Sit back… take a chill pill… and most importantly ENJOY the little things that make your day. SMILE – even if you are happy/ sad/ nervous… it is the best accessory you can wear! Nothing beats that 😀 (In most of my wedding functions, I was very nervous and forgot my smile somewhere; almost every close person was telling me “please smile”; even the photographer was tired of reminding me to smile. This is the most important advice I can give you from my personal experience.) “Let’s just remember…Life’s such a beautiful mistake”! Thank you for taking the time to go through my whole journey… it has been happening indeed! After the entire wedding hullabaloo…. Prakash has been called to work from the office so he went back to Hyderabad– I just moved to my in-law’s house to settle and build new bonds. This new life begins in a completely new atmosphere with new people. Now looking ahead to marriage more beautiful than our wedding! Life seems to have other beautiful plans for us…(that, I’ll shared soon:) Thank you so much to all my whole family (including my father, month, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law, cousins, uncle, aunt, who made this day possible for me. OWL Fest: Building Home Libraries Together
Curated Bookstore and Reading Event
In a bid to enhance early literacy and build home libraries, the Governor's Early Literacy Foundation (GELF) joins hands with the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) to introduce Opportunities with Literacy (OWL) Fest. This unique event, set to travel to 31 Priority elementary schools across Tennessee in September, offers a curated bookstore and shopping experience for students. OWL Fest allows students to select high-quality books to take home, free of charge, with the aim of boosting reading proficiency and fostering a culture of reading. A Lifeline for Literacy in Tennessee Tennessee faces a literacy challenge, with only 40% of its 3rd graders reading proficiently. Priority schools, in particular, grapple with reading proficiency rates ranging from 22-38%. Recognizing the profound impact of home libraries on academic success, vocabulary development, and career attainment, GELF's OWL Fest aims to bridge this gap by providing students with the opportunity to bring books into their homes. Student-Centric Book Selection Research from the Scholastic Kids & Family Reading Report™ underscores the importance of students selecting their books. A staggering 92% of children report that their favorite books are the ones they've chosen themselves, and 93% are more likely to complete a book they've personally selected. OWL Fest embraces this approach, allowing Pre-K through 5th-grade students to choose 6-8 books that resonate with their interests and preferences. Building Home Libraries Year-Round OWL Fest is part of GELF's K-3 Home Library program, designed to bolster home libraries and combat learning loss by delivering books to students and teachers each summer. In 2023 alone, the program distributed a remarkable 1.2 million books to over 200,000 students, teachers, librarians, and media specialists across the state, including Priority schools. Shaping a Literate Future James Pond, a spokesperson for GELF, shares the organization's vision: "Our goal is to promote a culture of reading in Tennessee by meeting students where they are with the books and resources they need to become lifelong learners. Through OWL Fest, we are bringing a book shopping experience, without the cost barrier, to students who may not have this kind of opportunity." "We want to give students the freedom to choose their books, call them their own, and get excited about reading. It's more than books. It's the future of Tennessee." Empowering Tennessee's Young Readers Lizzette Reynolds, Commissioner of Education, emphasizes the significance of reading proficiency: "Teaching children how to read, and how to read well, is one of the most important things we can do to set them up for success in their education, in college and career, and in life. Thanks to our partners at GELF, students across the state have access to free books through OWL Fest to help them become strong readers." Scholastic's Commitment to Literacy Amanda Alexander, Chief Academic Officer at Scholastic, expresses the company's pride in supporting GELF's mission: "Scholastic is proud to continue the critical work with GELF to ensure children have access to books that they are excited about reading this school year and beyond." School District Leaders Praise OWL Fest To develop effective support for Priority schools, GELF actively sought input and feedback from school district leaders who understand the vital importance of literacy. Dr. Thomas Rogers, Assistant Superintendent of Memphis-Shelby County Schools, says, "Literacy is life and the bedrock to all other subjects. OWL Fest has helped us to align and recommit ourselves to early and ongoing literacy for all students, regardless of the zip code." Dr. Terrence D. Brittenum, iZone Instructional Leadership Director (ILD) - Zone 10 of Memphis-Shelby County Schools, adds, "OWL Fest has facilitated our schools in prioritizing literacy by providing the resources to do so. Through the OWL Fest initiative, we will continue to support our schools by increasing students' access to grade-appropriate texts and evidence-based literacy instruction." Prioritizing Priority Schools OWL Fest receives support from federal funding aimed at promoting literacy in Priority schools designated by TDOE for the 2021-2022 school year. Priority schools, also known as Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools, represent the lowest-performing five percent of schools in the state due to sustained low academic performance. Below is a list of participating Priority schools that OWL Fest will visit in September: Achievement School District - Memphis Scholars Caldwell-Guthrie - Cornerstone Prep Lester Campus - Journey Coleman School Hamilton County School District - Orchard Knob Elementary - Hardy Elementary School - Calvin Donaldson Environmental Science Academy - Hamilton County Virtual School Jackson-Madison County School District - Jackson Career Technology Magnet - Lincoln Elementary School Knox County School District - Green Magnet Math And Science Academy - Maynard Elementary Metro-Nashville School District - Bellshire Elementary - Ida B.
