I remember the days before Crunchyroll... and now even donghua can get picked up and get dubs *wipes tear*
#don't mind me having a moment#I feel like a fandom grandma lol#but I have a friend who only got into anime a few years ago#so it comes up a lot how he never had to scour the internet and pray for fansubs#or experience the fansub wars or keikaku means plan notes#but honestly every year I just marvel more and more at how readily available foreign media is!#there is so much on Netflix and Prime now#and then you have things like Weibo and Tencent and Bilibili just ready to cater to the international market#and Viki of course!#I think it’s beautiful#(though I also wish more of this was available on dvd because I’m still kinda possessive of my media!)#nowadays it’s mostly the older shows that are hard to find#but even they can appear unexpectedly#Dokuganryuu Masamune got subbed and it was an extremely !!!! moment for me ahaha#also Kamen Rider is slowly making its way into legally available territory#these are all huge things! <3333
