so I was looking through translations of Kirby character's names and found that in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Meta Knight's name in Italian is "Cavaliere Nero" ("Black Knight")

that's the only game where it's changed afaik, it's just Meta Knight in other games, but it did get me thinking about the word cavaliere, which the French (and subsequently English) word cavalier comes from

cavalier has multiple meanings but one of them, and the one that's always stuck out to me (as I grew up on the TV show Horrible Histories) is a supporter of the king—specifically King Charles I during the English Civil War. the Cavaliers were fighting on his side during said war
