Freebie!! May the house be as cooperative as possible
Logan sipped his coffee and half listened to the shower in the bathroom, keeping an ear out in case you fell or something. And tried not to hear you trying to- well.
Because that was driving him crazy. He wanted to help so bad he thought he was gonna bust. He appreciated you trying to be discrete about it though. You probably didn't understand how good his hearing actually was. Even if you did know how good his sense of smell was now- good enough to pick out changes in your scent.
But the banging on the door and Trigger barking interrupted his thoughts- and his planning.
He went to the door and looked in the peephole to see a barrel-shaped woman with steel gray, poodle-permed hair and an oxygen tank. "What the fuck-"
"Y/N will you open the damned door?" she barked. "I know you're there I can hear the damn dog."
Logan heard the shower turn off and the thud of you opening and closing dresser drawers "FUCK! Logan? Can you-"
"Got it, Princess," he said unbolting the door and taking a deep breath. There goes his nice calm day. He can feel you in the bedroom, already whipped into a frenzy. "Can I help you?"
"Where's Y/N?" she demanded. "And who are you?"
"Mom," you tell her appearing next to him and nudging him out of the way gently. "This is Logan. What- why didn't you call?"
"Since when do I have to call to see my daughter?" she scoffed, barging past both of you and flopping herself down in an armchair, almost like she was striking a pose. A queen expecting tribute.
Logan can feel you assessing the room. Taking stock. Calculating. And he can hear your heart racing as you flit towards the kitchen to make coffee for her. And put a cinnamon roll, the one you were saving for later on a plate to go with it. "Since the time you came to visit and I was at an event in Ohio-"
"You should have told me," she scolded. "You never tell me anything. Wade told me everything."
Logan stifled a snort turning it into a cough and followed you, "What can I do?" he muttered. Your hands were trembling. He could hear things knocking together from the livingroom.
"Call Wade. Tell him to stay out of here today. Then call Vanessa and tell her the same," you murmur, lips barely moving.
He nodded and took the cup and the plate from the counter for you, taking it to your mom.
"How'd you get here?" you ask, starting a cup of tea.
"Your Aunt Charlene, 'o course," she answered, inspecting the cinnamon roll. "You make this?"
"Yesterday-"
"It's dry. What's with all the baby shit?"
Logan freezes halfway to the bedroom. Listening. Phone in hand. He knew you had to control a story here. Were you going to tell her? If you didn't tell her- How were you going to explain it when there was a baby? Or if she dropped by and you were ready to pop?
"I- do you want a glass of milk? You said that was dry."
"Ugh. I don't want it, sweetie. You got anything else?"
"Sure, mom. Gimme a minute. I'll make you something for lunch. It's a long trip. Aunt Charlene didn't want to stay?"
"You know her," she snorted.
Logan exhaled and listened to you take the plate and head back to the kitchen. Wondering how many times HE put you in this spot. Managing his emotions. How many times they'd all done it to you. Your heart was still racing and now it seemed like the rhythm wasn't going to slow down. Hovering just below utter panic.
"You really should lay off the sweets," he hears, "you're getting fat."
That made him crinkle his nose in distaste. Hardly. Even if you weren't pregnant, he was pretty sure there was some shit you just didn't say.
___________
"Hey, Peanut," Wade said, "Y/N putting a hit out on you or-"
"Your mom's at her apartment, numbnuts," he hissed. "Call Vanessa and tell her. Don't wanna leave her alone too long."
"Shit," Wade groaned. "Listen. Keep your head down. Keep your mouth shut. And just- whatever witchcraft she does let her do it."
"Whatever," Logan said hanging up. It wasn't witchcraft. It was you standing in front and taking body blows for the rest of them. It was you weaving a web and doing a whole song and dance to make it all work to protect them. And he could take a few if it meant it gave you some space to breathe.
_____________________
Logan walked back out into a tirade about how everything was going wrong with the house. About how YOU had to fix it. Because WADE would have done it because he was such a good boy. A good son. And now that he was dead-
"I'll come take a look at it if you want," Logan said, taking a seat next to you on the couch. putting an arm around you possessively.
"Who're you?"
"Logan is my boyfriend," you explain, "he does construction-"
"You definitely don't wanna get fat if you wanna keep that one," she said, looking at him properly.
Logan half shrugged and pulled you closer, "She's not getting fat, trust me. She gets too much cardio for that."
When the other woman laughs and you go tense, feigning amusement at your own expense, he winces internally.
'Gotta go watch my pans," you tell him, getting up.
"None of that fancy roasted shit," Your mother called. "Cook those vegetables the RIGHT way. Like I taught you-"
"Of course mom," you hum.
Hiding. You were hiding. And he knew it. But he understood it- sort of. Too many variables. Too many emotions to need to control. You were emotional. And all you could do right now was cook. So you cooked. If you were busy and helpful no one was going to be mad at you. Not him not your mom. Not anyone.
And All Logan could do was keep her talking about the house and not the size of your ass. Drinks filled. Bones for the dog. Plates on the table. It was a flow. You faded into the background.
Taking the complaints and the demands. Serving a meal and keeping things comfortable. It set Logan's teeth on edge watching your mother treat you like the help in your own home.
But by the time she left and you handed her a check just to get her out the door, he was furious. You shut the door behind her and slid down it, wrapping your arms around Trigger and burying your face in the fur of his neck. Just sobbing.
"Princess," he said softly, "com'ere?" He felt helpless.
The dog whined and pressed closer to you, laying across your lap when you let him go. "I'm okay," you mumble. "Feel like shit but-"
Logan nodded and took a seat on your other side, "Bet you wish you could have a drink, huh?"
"So fucking much," you huff, leaning against his side. "Usually when she leaves I buy a bottle of wine and order sushi."
He smiled a little and kissed the top of your head. "Promise. I'll make sure you get your wine and sushi as soon as you finish pushing."
"That might be the sweetest thing you've ever said to me," you tell him.
"Also," he snorted. "You're not getting fat. You're pregnant- she's just a fucking cunt."

my little cousin is here visiting from Poland, my parents and aunt and her came over yesterday to help me repaint my apartment walls and I offered to let her stay with me until we leave for our michigan roadtrip on Wednesday with my mom and our aunt. Sheâs 16 but way more mature and confident and beautiful than I was when I was her age (lol). She grew up in a city, which I think breeds a certain level of independence, so I showed her some coffee shops and thrift stores and book stores I think she would like in my neighborhood and gave her my transit pass so she could take the bus if she gets tired of walking. I love having people over especially after the breakup it feels so good to have my home filled with company. And sheâs definitely still girlish and silly in a teenager way but I love how girls never really change and we can still talk about music and clothes and life and get along even with the 13 year age difference between us. Maybe also itâs because I feel like a kid at heart and she is very cool for her age, but itâs sweet having her. She keeps complimenting me and thanking me for everything and talking about how her dream is to live in New York or Chicago and how she feels like people her age donât dream enough and donât inspire her and how she feels that she can find more like minded people in the US.. and how she loves the concept of people moving somewhere new and starting their dream life and Iâm like, girl same <3

GROVE-ING TOGETHER HOLIDAY SPECIAL : DECEMBER IN ASPEN PART TWO
My mom, dad and sister got here late last night. I sensed some tension between them as well. This vacation isnât starting off as great as I thought it wouldâŠ.
Mama Juni, mom, and I are all up making a festive breakfast for the house. We all get to talking (venting) about whatâs bothering usâŠ
Juniper: Koda, Iâm sorry if I upset you yesterday. I didnât mean to, I figured you knewâŠ. Dakota: Itâs okay mom, you didnât do anything wrong. Now TheoâŠ.
Juniper: So, he never told you he came home? Dakota: No. I donât think he even responded to my text I sent on thanksgiving to be quite honest... I vividly remember wishing him a happy thanksgiving and that I hope he was doing well.
Juniper: Maybe he had a good reason? Dakota: I have a good feeling I know the reason, seeing you mentioned âfriends.â Dakota: Iâm letting it go for now. Itâs whatever. Juniper: Dana, how have you been? Dana: Pretty good. Iâm so excited to be here with my grandbabies. I feel like I donât get to see them oftenâŠ. Dakota: Mom, you know you are welcome to visit at any time? Dana: I know. I just think it would be easier if we moved to SS⊠but your dad doesnât agree. Dakota: Thatâs the tension I felt when you got here last night⊠Dana: I donât understand why we canât just move there. He works from home, and rarely has to go into the office. Dakota: Dad really loves Copperdale. He tried to convince Theo and I to move there after we left Windenburg. Dana: Oh, I wish you had, then I wouldnât be dealing with his stubbornness⊠Dakota and Juniper: *Laughs*
Dana: How is the ranch, Juni?
Juniper: Doing very well. Umber has been pretty busy with that and other stuffâŠ. Dakota: MomâŠ. Whatâs wrong? Juniper: Theo has a sister. It became dead silent for about 10 seconds. Dakota: Iâm sorry, what? Dana: How? Dakota: ???
*Juniper lets out a big sigh*
Juniper: A young woman reached out to your dad via Simbook, telling him she thinks heâs her father. Dakota: Oh my god? Dakota: What did dad say? Juniper: He couldnât say much because he was in shock. He didnât think he had a daughter out there⊠Dana: Well, did he and her go get tested?
Juniper: They planned to while they were here. She is conveniently here with her family as well we found out. Dakota: Sheâs here in Aspen? Juniper: Yep. Dakota: Mom, are you okay? Juniper: Yeah, Iâm fine. I have to admit, I have been slightly disconnected from dad. Dana: Wait, is she older or younger than Theo because that would mean⊠Juniper: Sheâs older, by two years. Dakota: Oh, thank goodness. Dakota: When do you guys plan to tell Theo? Juniper: Your dad planned to tell him today when they go out for their guy time.. Dakota: That coffee is making me sick, oh my god.
Dana: Why do they get guy time and we are stuck at the lodge with the kids? Dakota: I donât know, lets ask them seeing they are all coming this wayâŠ
The guyâs head towards the kitchen and I turn back to finish cooking.
Ellis: Smells great in here ladies. Dana: Why do you guys get a day away from everyone? Ellis: Its not really a day sweetie, we just want to hangout at the tavern we found⊠Juniper: We werenât invited? Umber: Well⊠no because we wanted to catch up like Iâm sure you guys did this morning⊠Dakota: *Grunts under her breath* Theo walks up behind her and wraps his arms around her waist. Theo: Hey baby⊠Dakota: Hi. Theo: Can you come upstairs with me really quick? Umber: Ooohhh Theo: Get your mind out of the gutter⊠Dakota: Sure. Theo and I head upstairs to our room. Dakota: Is something wrong? Theo: I just wanted to talk about what my mom had mentioned, about WindenburgâŠ? Dakota: Itâs fine. No point to talk about it 10 years later, you know. Theo: Baby⊠Dakota: Although hearing you brought friends was interesting⊠I can imagine who they were⊠Dakota: Itâs okay Theo. I promise. Dakota: Iâm going to get the kids situated with breakfast, and then Iâll grab us some food. I head back downstairs as Theoâs dad is walking up. Umber: I take it she didnât want to talk about it? Theo: Yep. Sheâs doing that thing where she acts like she doesnât care but I know she doesâŠ. Theo: Itâs going to bother her until she talks about it. Umber: So, let her open the discussion when she is ready.
[Theo]
This is going to be a very interesting vacationâŠ.

omg iâm so excited i like,, spam read all of your writing and now i can request,,, anyway, could i request maybe something similar to your Tanaka x femboy reader, but with Oikawa? like he mistakes him for a girl and maybe flirts with the reader a little bit and the reader i just like ,,âyou do,, you do realize i am a man correctâ and hijinks ensue?? sorry if this is too vague i suck at describing things. lotsa love your writing is literally my favorite đ
Omg wait Oikawa??? And femboy reader??? Hijinks???? Take me nowâ
ââââââ
Oikawa x reader - Oikawa Tooru Goes Both Ways
â ïžwarnings - reader is mistaken and referred to unintentionally as a girl. I assure you, this is a male reader. Femboy reader, if that triggers you.
Pronouns - male, he/him
ââââââ
Oikawa couldnât help but stare as a...rather cute girl stepped into the gym.
âOi! Shittykawa! Focus!â Iwaizumi was about to hurl a volleyball at Oikawaâs head when he caught sight of where he was staring. He looked from the newcomer, back to Oikawaâs eyes tracing their form up and down.
âIwa-chan...â Oikawa held his breath as he pointed subtly. âWho is that?â
Iwaizumi looked over back to the intruder. Sure enough, some girl with (h/c) styled hair stood at the foot of the door awkwardly. They werenât sporting the school uniform, instead wearing a skirt with a cafe apron tied around their waist. Oikawa recognized the cute logo on the somewhat dirty apron as the coffee shop heâd visit on days he wasnât particularly busy.
All in all, this stranger was incredibly attractive.
Eventually, coach Irihata emerged from the storage closet, and motioned the stranger over. The stranger perked up, pulled out a slightly-wrinkled paper from their back, and timpered off into the office.
Oikawa sighed dreamily. âIwa-chan...is this what I think it is? Are we fiiiiiinally getting a cute girl manager to manage our team?!â
He draped himself over Iwaizumiâs shoulders. âAaaaah~! Iâm so happy~! And itâs such a cutie too!â
âGet off me, dumbass. You have like...millions of girls throwing their panties at you, literally all that look like her. And you go for the one who decides to join our club?â
Oikawa huffed. âWhatâs so wrong about that! Sheâs cute! And she looked so shy standing there...aaaah, Iâm swooning just thinking about wrapping her up in my arms-!â
âIâm saying,â Iwaizumi bonked Oikawa on the head. âIf you manage to get with her, then break her heart, or at the very least make her uncomfortable, sheâll have to see your annoying face all day at practice, and then she wonât wanna be manager anymore! Because she has to see you!â
Iwaizumi pinched at Oikawaâs scalp. âI want a cute girl manager and to have them actually stay! And who knows? We get brownie points if itâs not another one of your fangirls trying to get in your pants by joining the club!â
âOw! Mean Iwa-chan, bad!â
âIâm not a damn PokĂ©mon-!â Iwaizumi was about to kick Oikawa in the back, before letting himself simmer down and take a deep breath. He lowered his legs, and turned towards the office door. â...Iâm gonna go look at that girlâs application and see what class sheâs in. Maybe we can, I dunno, make her a welcome basket of fruit or some corny shit like that.â
âLet me come with you-!â
âNo! Youâll just scare her away, and you have cleaning duty! All you need to do is take down the net, and Iâll meet you outside when Iâm done. If you be good, Iâll tell you her name.â
Oikawa thought about it for a second.
âDeal.â
He disappeared to take down the net from the poles. Iwaizumi sighed, and walked towards the door. They were the only two left in the gym, as they were in charge of cleanup for the day, so no one else but him should be in the office. Well, minus the new girl and coach Irihata.
Iwaizumi slid open the door. âYo.â He greeted. He looked around the room, only finding coach Irihata.
â...Didnât someone come in here with you with an application form?â
Coach Irihata chuckled. âOh, yeah,â
âHe just wanted to drop in his member application before his part-time job made him go back to work.â
Iwaizumi froze.
â...he...?â
âYeah, he wanted to join the club as a (Position name). Heâs not confident about his jumping or spiking abilities, but he claims to be really dang good at digging and receives.â
The two looked at eachother in silence. Wasnât she-well, heâwearing a skirt? Now that he thought about it, everything about him looked like...well...a him, minus the skirt. Iwaizumi dashed to the table and picked up the application resting there peacefully.
â(L/n) (Y/n) - 2nd year, class 4â
âPosition - (Position name)â
Iwaizumi scanned the page. He wanted to doubt this was the âcute managerâ they laid their eyes on, but they even had a school photo clipped onto the corner of the paper. Sure enough, that was him. His eyes eventually landed on something printed on the middle of the page.
âGender - maleâ
That proved it. The âcute girl managerâ Oikawa was just fawning over turned out to be a guy. And their future teammate, no less. Iwaizumi wanted to laugh in Oikawaâs face.
âIs there something wrong, Iwaizumi-kun?â
âPfft-no! N-no, sirrrrr....â Iwaizumi set the paper down and walked out the the room, doing his best to keep in his snickers.
Oikawa jogged up to him excitedly once he stepped out of the gym. âSo? Did ya find out her name? Her class? Is she our manager?â
Iwaizumi opened his mouth to say something, before letting his mouth clamp shut.
âNah, coach said I couldnât see it.â
He watched as Oikawa deflated, trudging his way over to the club room to change and go home. Iwaizumi did his best not to bust out laughing on the spot.
This should be fun.
ââ
âIwa-chan!â
âNo, you stalker.â
âBut Iwa-chaaaaaan!â Oikawa whined. âWhy not?! Practice ended early, and we could use some coffee! Come buy coffee with me!â
âYou just wanna use me as an excuse to see that bo-that girl who came into our club yesterday, idiot! Thatâs stalking! Youâre acting like your little fangirls!â
Oikawa pouted, and Iwaizumi prayed he didnât catch him on his little slip-up. He turned around, walking off out of school gates. Oikawa dejectedly trailed behind him.
âIâm going home. Donât bother me if itâs about that manager againââ
Just then, a text tone pinged from Iwaizumiâs pocket. He stopped mid-sentence, fishing out his phone and opening his messaging app.
âMom - no ones going to be home because we have to go out real quick. The house is locked, and you left your spare keys with me again. Go out and have fun with Tooru-kun before I come back!â
Iwaizumi deadpanned. Oikawa had his chin resting on his shoulder, with a shit-eating grin Iwaizumi didnât even have to look at to know was there.
âYeah, Iwa-chan. Listen to Mrs. Aina and hang out with Tooru-kun for a bit. We can go to the cafe and hang out like your she said, Iwa-chan~â
Iwaizumi pushed past Oikawa bitterly. âDonât... fuckinâ... call my mom by her name... dumbass... stalker... Shittykawa...â he grumbled as he trudged his way in the direction to the cafe. Oikawa let out a small âYay~!â
ââ
Hiding behind the big, laminated menus the cafe provided, Oikawa kept glancing over to the cashier-area to try and find (Y/n). Iwaizumi deadpanned, sitting back in his chair nonchalantly.
âYouâre acting stupid.â
âIâm being sneaky.â
âYou look more suspicious than if you were to act like yourself.â
âAs if you would know!â Oikawa whisper-yelled to Iwaizumi, momentarily letting his menu fall flat. âIâm trying not to get caught, unlike one of us-!â
âHello?â
Oikawa and Iwaizumi froze. Oikawa rigidly turned to the voice, while Iwaizumi almost fell back in his seat.
There stood the boyâwell, the âgirlâ, in his work apron, this time, up close. Oikawa could see the detail in his eyes, the way a few of his hairs fell onto his face and stuck because of the small layer of sweat on his forehead, even taking in the small kitty hair clip resting in his hair.
âHu...huaai...â Oikawa breathed out. Iwaizumi bit his lip. If he started laughing now, Oikawa would tell his mom he was bullying him again.
âHello! I was wondering if I could get you two anything to drink! No worries if you arenât ready to order yet.â
His voice had a soft tamber to it, a warm, welcoming aura that fit the vibe of the cafe perfectly. Iwaizumi could see how Oikawa, and probably other people, could mistake him for a girl. Especially with the way he dressed and carried himself as evident to yesterdayâs practice.
Iwaizumi tilted the menu infront of him up a bit. âIâll get a small black coffee. Whabout you, Oikawa?â
When he got no response, other than the hum of acknowledgment from (Y/n), Iwaizumi looked up. Oikawa was staring dumbly at (Y/n) again, and seconds later (Y/n) was caught under his gaze. He stared back awkwardly, waiting for Oikawa to say something or at least order something, until he suddenly jolted up in pain.
Iwaizumi dug his heel deeper into Oikawaâs foot. âSay something, dumbass! Stop staring!â He hissed, covering his mouth from (Y/n) in petty attempts to mask their conversation.
âOw! Ow! Iâll get a peppermint tea please-! Stop it!â
(Y/n) scribbled down Oikawaâs order, smiling patiently as he did. Iwaizumi removed his foot. There was a beat of silence, until Oikawa smoothly rested his chin on his hand.
âSoooo, (L/n) (Y/n)-chan, is it?â Oikawa said, as he peered at (Y/nâs) name tag. âPretty masculine name for a cute girl like you~â
Iwaizumi choked on his spit. (Y/n) tilted his head to the side, looking up from his notepad to peer back at Oikawa.
âWhat...did you say?â
âSorry, sorry!â Oikawa rubbed the back of his head cutely. âI didnât mean to offend you. I think (Y/n) is a cute name~â
Iwaizumi didnât know if he wanted to die from laughter or embarrassment. He was going to pop a vein trying to keep in his cackles.
âAh. Itâs the clothes, isnât it?â (Y/n) mused. He took a step back, looking at his rather-feminine clothing choices for the day. âI understand why. I get that a lot.â
â...What does your clothes have to do with your name?â It was Oikawaâs turn to sound confused. Iwaizumi let out a few haggard, stifled snickers at his dense expression. (Y/n) raised an eyebrow.
âYou...â He pointed at himself with his pen. âYou do realize Iâm a man, correct?â
Oikawa choked. His eyes widened as his smile cracked a bit. Iwaizumi had to hide his face in his jacket to prevent himself from bursting out into hackles. Oikawa gave a nervous smile.
âAha...haha...funny joke..â
âIâm not joking, though...â (Y/n) smirked. He wouldnât deny that seeing the faces of people flirting with him after he told them he had a dick was a guilty pleasure. âWant proof?â
(Y/n) grasped Oikawaâs wrist, tugging it forcefully, and moving his apron to the side. He brought it down closer to his groin until Oikawa sputtered and flailed on the table.
âNo! I-I believe you! I-I can see it from hereâI donât need to touch it-!â Oikawa shrieked. Iwaizumi clutched his stomach from laughing too hard, already given up on keeping it in. He snorted loudly, choked on that snort, and erupted into a series of cough-laughs.
By the time Iwaizumiâs laugh turned into the kind where no noise came out-but it hurt in your stomach anywaysâOikawa was laying his head on the table, embarrassed, while (Y/n) chuckled along.
âYou knew, Iwa-chan! You knew!â Oikawa hissed, holding his poor, abused hand. âYou set me up for failure!â
âYou did that to yourself.â Iwaizumi said between breaths. âHeâs actually gonna start attending practice as a (position name) starting next week. We donât have a manager after all.â
âAnd you got my hopes up for what?!â Oikawa cried out, making Iwaizumi snort again. (Y/n) raised his eyebrows.
âManager?â
âOikawa thought that when you came to drop your registration form in yesterday, that you were signing up to be a manager since he thought you were a girl. I saw your form though, so I knew but this guy here didnât.â
Iwaizumi nudged at Oikawa, who was hiding his face in his hands. âYou better be nice to him, though. Heâs your new captain starting next week.â
âAh! How fun! Having my new playboy captain flirt with me before I even join the club. â (Y/n) mumbled, as he scribbled down something else in his notepad. Iwaizumi heckled when Oikawa whined with his head down.
He didnât raise his head back up until a slip of paper was placed gently on top of his head. He heard a âIâll go get your drink ready.â From (Y/n), before he looked up and noticed he was gone. He caught the slip of paper falling off his head as he sat up.
âWhatâs that?â Iwaizumi said lazily. Oikawa was staring giddily at the paper. He turned the paper around smugly, holding it up for Iwaizumi to read.
âCall me. If youâre feeling fruity, that is. (xxx)-xxx-xxxx. -â(Y/n)-chanââ
Iwaizumi stared at the neat handwriting, then back at Oikawaâs smug face.
â...Were you not just listening? He just tried to make you touch his dick? Heâs a dude?â
âEh. Cute girl, cute boy, heâs still cute~â Oikawa dreamily sighed as he watched (Y/n) make his tea behind the counter. âIâd still hit it till he breaks~â
âPervert.â
âSays you.â
Oikawa earned a sharp thunk to the head.

- LOVE OVER LIFE(NOT PROOF READ)
FINAL: I know I love you.
Last night's event lingers in my mind but there more that made my head hurt even more. More that I needed to tell me but I didn't get to last night.
Before my mother alerts me to get up for the day, I got up off my bed and left my room and entered into the living room. My laptop was on the coffee table so like normal I opened it up and check social media, there's no one to message anyways so.
"You're up early hm?"
My mom said behind me putting a cup of coffee/tea on the table infront of us as she sat down next to me.
"Well I have to start packing anyways so.."
She smiled at my comment and turn on the television, entering her own world and forgetting that I was there.
I went on Facebook to check up on it, the last time I was on there was because of Beomgyu, so I'm here again to check his account.
As normal it's been up to date with posts and comments about his lives, even comments about yesterday's live. Seems that was keeping him busy from meeting me.
I turned off my laptop and check my phone to see that it was already 10am. I took the cup and finished the drink in one go and put it away in the sink then got ready for the day.
-
Got out some bags and got started on my packing, closet first.
Taking out the clothes one by one I found some hidden notes that Beomgyu and I sent each other during class.
I picked them out, staring at it for a bit getting a wave of memories entering my mind. I sighed and decided to pack them, part of me still loves him.
Finishing on my closet I decided to leave the house a for a bit and walk around.
This time I didn't go to the park, I visited the beach closest to my house, it wasn't a short walk but it wasn't a long one either. I took off my shoes and held it in my hands as I made my way to the sand and stared at the sea for a bit. Smiling at the amazing scenery, It got interrupted by a notification. I placed the shoes on the sand as I got out my phone and checked it. The first one was a message by my mom telling me that she will finish my packing, made me smile even more but the second one was from Beomgyu.
gyuđ: about last night can you tell me what you wanted to say?
I completely forgot that I left his contact name as that but I can't run away for ever so I texted back.
y/n: over text orr
gyuđ: of course not. tell me where to meet up
y/n: meet me at the beach I'm already there
I sighed as I stood there, waiting for him to come. It was finally time to release the heavy weight of this drama and face my fears. I really hope that Beomgyu will see my POV also. All I have to do is hope..

"Y/n!"
I heard his voice. It was already around 1pm, I know his house isn't near to mine but it wouldn't take that long, I think.
"Took you a while.."
He looked away and mumbled something along the lines of "I got lost." but I just let it go.
"So.." He stared.
I took a deep breath and started to speak without my brain keeping up with it.
"Beomgyu, I'm really am sorry for what I did.. I wasn't thinking that much, all I wanted was for you to be comfortable.. And don't think much about my life."
He stared at me as I continued spitting out the words before he could respond to the first half.
"I didn't wanted you to find out about my. Lies that way.. I just wanted you to have a normal life like a normal teenager.."
I stopped talking to see if he as anything to say but all he did was opened his mouth then close it. I looked away as I began to put back on my shoes.
"Wait. I'm sorry for not giving you time to tell your point of view, I was mad that you were partly feeding me lies of your life. I thought everything was going well."
I got back up and smiled a bit that he responded.
"Beomgyu.."
"Hm?"
"I want you to know that I really do love you."
I said as I stared at him.
He stared back and was about to respond but..
"Y/n! It's time to go!"
My mom came, we both looked at her and then I ended off our talk with:
"What I also wanted to say last night was I'm moving away to another country."
His eyes grew wider as I talked more.
"..Probably won't come back anytime soon Beomgyu."
I ended off, running to my mother.
This isn't our home country, my mom moved here because of an accident that happened in our country that made us split up. She moved here to forget about it but of course we missed home. It's been years since we went back home.
I got into the car as Beomgyu stared at me, eyes following the car as we drove away. He stared off at the sky, tears tickled his cheek as he found out he's alone again, his one love left.
Was he the fool to turn his life into you? Break it a bit, finally about to repair it but in the end lost it?
Were you the fool to hide your tears from him, run into the car without a goodbye, lie to your love, chose your feelings over your life but in the end run away? You had no choice in the run away part, you indeed miss your home but the tears kept in coming out as the car drove father from him.

Chapter 15
âJo! Please bring your suitcase downstairs so Daddy can load it into the car,â you called up the stairs.
âHow high does the plane go up in the air? Who is the pilot? How fast does it go?â Jo asked as she walked down the stairs.
Jo had been asking a lot of questions about planes recently since you told her that you all were taking a little trip. You were going to Las Vegas so Diana could meet Jo.
Spencer was ecstatic about it so you tried to hide your growing anxiety to not kill his mood. You had already met Diana multiple times when you would accompany Spencer on road trips home on long weekends in college and she seemed to love you. But that was before you had her granddaughter and didnât tell her or her son for six years. Not to mention the fact that you and Spencer were now dating again and living together.
âThose are questions for Daddy on the ride to the airport,â you ushered her out the front door, locking it.
Jo repeated her questions again once in the car.
âThe plane will fly at about 5.9 to 7.2 miles up in the air. I donât know who the pilot is but we can ask. Commercial planes fly at about 547 to 575 miles per hour which is about 14 times faster than the speed we are driving right now,â Spencer informed her.
âWoah,â Jo exclaimed, âIâve never been on a plane before.â
âYes you have, Baby J. You were just too young to remember it. You and Mommy flew from California to here,â you said.
Once you made it through check-in and security, you were waiting in the terminal for your flight to start boarding. Spencer came back with coffee and breakfast sandwiches for you both and a chocolate milk and donut munchkins for Jo.
âThanks, Spence,â you gave him a quick kiss before unwrapping your sandwich.
âJo, look!â Spencer pointed to a woman in a uniform, âI think thatâs our pilot. Do you want to go say hi?â
Jo nodded shyly. She seemed to be a little starstruck.
âCome here, Princess,â Spencer lifted her up and walked over to the lady.
You watched from afar as the woman nodded her head to Spencerâs first question so she must be the pilot. She seemed very enthusiastic to answer any and all of Joâs questions. She knelt down to her bag and gave something to Jo, waving goodbye.
âMommy! I got wings!â Jo held up a little wing pin.
âOh my gosh, sweetie! That is so cool!â you smiled, pinning it to her sweater.
âDo you want to be a pilot when you grow up, Jo?â Spencer asked.
âYes,â she beamed.
âYou can be whatever you want, Josephine,â you smiled, kissing her cheek.
-
It was the middle of the night. You couldnât possibly sleep, knowing you were going to have to face Diana in the morning. You were expecting the cold shoulder from her at the very least.
You were sitting on the cool hotel bathroom floor, silently crying with your knees pulled up to your chest and your head tucked in between.
âSweetheart, whatâs wrong?â Spencer quickly rushed over to you, sitting down beside you.
Either your crying was louder than anticipated or he just woke up to use the bathroom because you forgot to lock the door.
âYour mom hates me and I know how much her approval means to you,â you sniffled, not looking up.
âBaby, can you look at me please?â he whispered.
You hesitantly looked up to meet Spencerâs sympathetic gaze. He used the bottom of his t-shirt to wipe the tears from your face, pulling you in for a hug.
âShe doesnât hate you, I promise. She is overjoyed to meet her granddaughter,â he assured you.
âWhat if sheâs just not telling you, Spence? She is seeing Jo for the first time at the age of 6, I honestly wouldnât blame her for being pissed,â you were crying again.
Spencer pulled back and cupped your face, wiping away the fresh tears with his thumbs.
âIâm really sorry, I got so excited I forgot to consider how youâre feeling. I can take Jo alone tomorrow if you donât want to go,â he said.
âNo, I want to go,â you replied with no hesitation.
Spencer smiled softly, âIf you feel uncomfortable at any point, we will leave but I swear she is not harboring any animosity towards you.â
âDoes she know we are living together and dating again?â you asked softly.
âYes, she does. Let me tell you she was not happy when I broke up with you the first time so I can assure you she approves of us getting back together,â he chuckled.
He elicited a quiet giggle from you.
âWould you like to go back to bed?â he asked softly.
You nodded and Spencer helped you up off the floor and back to bed. Spencer wrapped his arms around you and you snuggled into his chest, finally getting some rest.
-
âDr. Reid! Diana has not stopped talking about this visit all week! She is having a wonderful day!â the nurse at the front desk chirped.
âThank you. Is she in her room?â he asked.
âYes, you know the way!â she said, gesturing down the hall.
You and Spencer stopped right outside her door, halting Joâs movement as well because she was in between you both, holding each of your hands.
Spencer knelt down to her level, âDo you remember who we are meeting?â
âYour Mommy,â Jo said.
âSo that makes her your Grandma,â Spencer smiled.
âI already have a Grandma,â Jo said, confused.
âYou have two Grandmas now, Baby J,â you explained.
Jo still seemed a little confused and made a grabby motion for you to pick her up.
Spencer knocked on the door and opened it a crack.
âMom?â Spencer said.
âOh, Spencer!â you heard the familiar voice excitedly shout from inside.
You entered the room with Jo nuzzled into your neck. Jo tended to get very shy around new people and liked to cling to you or Spencer until she warmed up.
Once Diana finished hugging Spencer, she turned to you and Jo.
âHi, Y/N! Good to see you! Let me see my beautiful granddaughter,â she chirped.
âGood to see you too,â you smiled, âJo, can you say hi?â
Jo nuzzled further into your neck.
âHow about if you sit in Daddyâs lap?â you whispered in her ear.
She nodded and you handed her over to Spencer, taking the seat next to him on the couch.
âOh, look at her precious little face. She looks just like Spencer did at that age. Hello, Josephine,â Diana smiled.
âJo, how about you tell Grandma what we did yesterday,â you prompted her.
âWe went on a plane and I got this,â Jo pointed to the wings that she was still wearing today.
âOh my, the pilot must have thought you were a very important little girl then,â Diana nodded.
Jo beamed as you reached over to your bag.
âUm we brought some of Joâs toys if you want to play with her,â you asked Diana.
âOf course! I would love nothing more!â
-
âI have to pee,â Jo tugged at Spencerâs sleeve.
âOkay, letâs go,â Spencer lifted her up.
Shit. As much as Spencer assured you that his mom didnât hold a grudge, you were scared of the âgirl talkâ that would ensue when he left the room. You couldnât really offer to take Jo because you didnât know where the bathrooms were.
Once the door to the room clicked shut, you felt Dianaâs eyes on you.
âSo long time, no see,â she said.
âYeah,â you chuckled nervously.
âNow Iâm Spencerâs mom and Iâm supposed to see him as perfect but one of the biggest mistakes he ever made was leaving you and I made sure I let him know that. And I didnât even know you were pregnant at the time. You both just had this special bond that was so clear to anyone who was within twenty feet of you. I am so grateful that you gave him the opportunity to come back into you and your daughterâs life,â Diana spoke.
You were tearing up at how nice she was being. She didnât blame you for any of it.
âCan I hug you?â you asked with watery eyes.
âOf course, my dear,â she opened her arms, âI am so lucky to call you family.â
Spencer returned to see two of the most important people in his life hugging and the third was in his arms.

Did I mention that I like drama? Enjoy!Â
Jumin
You pressed your lips together as tears went down your cheek. The baby you just gave birth to was sleeping in Jaeheeâs arms as you sobbed into Zenâs embrace.
,,Itâs as if he planned everything,â you sobbed, making your red haired friend shake with his head.
,,When he found out you were pregnant, he made me do all this. He didnât plan to die a month after the birth of your baby, really, he just feared that if something happened to him, his father would have acted the way he did,â Seven explained.
The reason why you were currently staying over at Jaeheeâs place was that Jumin died a week ago. One day you let him go out of the front door, still smiling as he kissed your newborn, and not even half an hour later, you found yourself in the hospital.
Someone shot him.
And as if it wasnât enough, your father in law tried to take away your baby, saying that he had to give his grandchild a better life.
But Jumin, even in heaven, saved you once again, saving a lot of money and having an external saving method thanks to Seven.
He even left behind a letter to his father filled with lies, explaining that the baby wasnât his child.
Of course everything was a lie, but this lie made it possible for you to see your baby grow up.
,,I canât even go to my husbandâs-â your words died in tears.
,,He will always look over you, Mc, and weâll help you. It will all be better soonâŠâ Zen patted your back. He too was mourning for his friend.
Zen
,,Mommy, do I really look like daddy?â your youngest girl asked you as she brushed her long white hair.
You gulped as you looked over to your oldest daughter.
Her eyes were again filled with tears.
Zen died two years ago, leaving you behind with three wonderful children.
You had to give up your job as manager and instead began to work part time in a restaurant at night and other little jobs while the girls were at school.
,,Daddy⊠I donât even remember him,â your middle child hissed as she entered the room.
,,I donât even know him, thatâs worse!â your youngest began to sob.
She indeed looked like Zen. He would have been proud to see her beauty.
Well, he was proud of every daughter he had. He loved them with all his heart.
,,Trust me, I would rather not remember him than live with memories,â your oldest daughter Mina hissed as she put down her lipstick and rushed out.
You sighed as you looked at your little family.
You were all sleeping in one single room. No one had their own space and instead they all argued with each other whenever they had the chance.
,,Youâre always so negative, MINA!â your middle child Hana hissed, followed by the youngest, Sera.
,,I HATE YOU GUYS! HE DIED BECAUSE OF YOU!â she screamed, making your heart stop.
Mina glared at her and fell on her feet as she began to scream a loud, high pitched scream.
,,SERA RYU!â you screamed.
The house died down as only sniffles were heard.
,,Your father died when the three of you caught a virus. He was trying to go to the shop for some medicine, but that doesnât mean that one of you is at fault, understand?â you hissed.
You sat down and began to cry yourself as you called them over into your arms, ready to embrace your crying children.
,,No one is at fault. Please, please donât fight, girls, your father would be devastated to see that,â you begged.
,,Sera, you do look like dad,â Mina sobbed and smiled, making your youngest smile brightly.
Yoosung
Your son finally fell asleep after a long crying session.
Nothing hurt you more than consoling your son who was in deep pain because he got bullied at school for not having a father.
Yoosung died six months ago, making you move into a tinier apartment which led to your son attending another school.
However, you regretted every single decision.
You pulled your phone out as you tried to dry your salty tears.
You entered a new chatroom as you asked for help.
,,What happened? Shall I come over?â Jumin responded, being the first one online.
,,I can come quicker, Iâm omw,â Zen shortly afterwards responded.
,,No no, I justâŠ
Can you please bring Jinyoung to school tomorrow? He got bullied⊠I think if other children see him with you guys, they will respect him more,â you wrote.
Of course Seven jumped in and wrote six lines about how happy he would be to play â
of a father, making you actually choke on your tears.
,,Thank you,â you typed and decided to bring your son to bed.
Indeed the three boys kept their promise, making him laugh like never before.
Jaehee
,,And thatâs how we met,â you laughed as you told your son about the meeting between you and Jaehee.
He nodded as he looked at the picture over the table.
It portrayed you, him, and Jaehee on his first day of school.
Jaehee died a year ago from an illness.
It all went so quickly. One day she got diagnosed and a few months later the two of you prepared the funeral for her.
As if it was yesterday, you remembered picking up your son and driving him to the hospital to give Jaehee the chance to see him one last time.
And indeed, it was their last goodbyes.
Jaehee would never see him finishing school, university, or begin a job, fall in love, or try to cheer him up while being lovesick.
She would never see him get married or have his first child.
It hurt your heart to know that you were the only one left for him.
On the other side, Jaehee was happy that at least he had you. ,,How did your favorite TikTok go?â she groaned.
,,Take him to the moon for me,â she whispered.
,,Mom was a strong woman,â you told your son as a tear left your eye.
,,You too, Mommy, you too.â
SaeyoungÂ
You sighed as you turned off your alarm to get off the bed.
It was still dark outside, but you had to wake up with the last strength you had. You pulled yourself together and walked back to the kitchen where you prepared some breakfast for your child.
Like every morning, reality hit you as you silently sobbed while putting some rice into the bento box.
Your hands trembled as you looked up, just to gasp for air and keep going.
It was hard ever since Saeyoung died. Things werenât going well for you.
You thanked God daily for the remaining person you had, that you had friends and family who supported you.
But you also begged God to make this bad life end. Even though it was selfish, you just wanted to see your family again.
Even if Jaehee often tried to make you understand how lucky you were, even at the times where Jumin promised to help you with the medical expenses, even at those times when Yoosung came over to cook dinner, and even at those times when Zen promised to go with your and your child to the park, you just wanted this to end.
You inhaled again and dried your tears as you made yourself a cup of coffee.
,,Good morning, baby,ââ you whispered as you turned on the lights of your sonâs room.
,,MoâŠ.m,ââ the boy groaned, probably in pain as you helped him get up to sit on his wheelchair.
,,WetâŠââ he gasped as you noticed that he wet his bed again.
,,Itâs okay, baby, donât worry,ââ you smiled, pushing the chair through the door, passing at the picture of Saeyoung, Saeran, and your two perfectly healthy children.
That day, Saeyoung didnât just die in a car accident from speeding, he also took his brother and one of your children with him, leaving you with your second son disabled by the accident.
,,Itâs okay,ââ you whispered.
Saeran
You looked up to the ceiling as you felt a warm, little hand on your chest.
Turning your head, you could see how relaxed the face of your daughter was as she slept safely and soundly, not worrying about anything or anyone.
You smiled as you saw how much she resembled Saeran, her father.
Your hand moved to stroke her head as you remembered the day you told him that you were pregnant, how he cared for you and his daughter in the pregnancy, how hard labor was, and how emotional it was when he once again decided to save his brother after seeing his own daughter.
,,He would be happy to see her,ââ he said after she was newly born and he was finally allowed to hold her in his embrace.
As if it was yesterday, you remembered how he taught her to walk, how he stood behind her while going to the park and how much he loved to feed her.
This all disappeared one day.
In the morning, he told you that he might have found Saeyoung and in the evening he came home, beaten up with a shotgun wound, collapsing in front of your porch.
It was your worst nightmare and you were honestly happy that this all happened at night, knowing that back then, your three year old daughter wouldnât have seen anything.
Ever since then, life became harder.
You moved, fearing the Prime Minister or the agency Saeyoung was in would track you down and kill your daughter. The RFA kept helping you guys, but questions like, ,,Where is Dadaââ werenât always easy to respond to.
,,Mommy,ââ she mumbled and opened her eyes, smiling brightly at you and rubbing her eyes to wake up.
,,Mhhh?ââ you asked her.
,,Daddy visited my dreamsâŠââ she giggled and fell asleep again, making you wander back to old memories too.
Jihyun
,,Mom, I donât understand my homework,ââ Lucy said, whispering as she entered the room as quietly as possible.
You looked back to her and nodded as you looked back to the little bed your son was in before you walked away, your hand on Lucyâs hair as you smiled at her.
,,What topic?ââ you asked her.
You noticed that she was hesitating so it was probably art since it was related to her father.
,,Art?ââ you asked her to make it easier for her. She had a pretty hard time ever since Jihyun died, well, you too. You all had a pretty hard time.
Jumin wasnât the same person anymore, or so Jaehee said. Yoosung seemed to regret a few things, and Saeran and Saeyoung were grieving, just like Zen.
Everyone was in pain after the painful death of that one special person.
,,Our teacher told us to draw a painful happy moment but⊠how am I supposed to make something happy if itâs supposed to be painful?ââ she asked you.
You nodded. ,,Well, describe something painful. What is painful?ââ you asked her.
,,Getting hurt is painful, falling is painful, getting hit is painfulâŠââ
,,How about losing someone?ââ you asked her, making her think about it for a few seconds before she asked you if it wasnât something sad instead of painful.Â
You nodded. ,,When I told you that daddy wouldnât come home anymore back then when you were younger, do you remember how you felt?ââ you asked her.
,,Did your heart hurt? Did you feel scared and suffocated? Wasnât it painful?ââ you asked her and even though you could see that she was tearing up, you knew that this was something the two of you had to talk about.
Indeed, Lucy closed up about her feelings ever since then, but this was also a good opportunity.
,,Now, think of a happy moment with your father. Isnât it something painful but a happy moment as well?ââ you asked her and got up, knowing that she knew what to do.
A week later, you were invited to see your daughter receive a prize for the most beautiful portrait of Jihyun as an angel looking down at the world, a painful and happy moment for everyone who knew him.
Vanderwood
,,Mommy,ââ your son asked you, pulling at your shirt as you stood in front of the stove.
,,Mhhh?ââ you asked him without looking as you were cooking.
,,Why did Daddy leave us?ââ he asked you out of the blue, making you stop everything and look at him.
,,The fish is burning,ââ he suddenly said as he saw the flames, making you shriek and quickly take care of everything.
After everything was taken care of, you took him in your arms and showed him a few pictures of his father.
For now, you never showed him his father. You never dared to speak about Vanderwood, fearing that your son wouldnât understand your words, but by now you learned that he was much stronger than you ever thought.
,,This is your father, Vanderwood. He didnât leave because he wanted to, he was kind of forced to,ââ you told him, gulping down the bad feeling you had as your heart began to beat quickly.
,,And why is he gone?ââ he asked you, softly touching the picture of a cool looking brown haired man.
This was on the day you two went to eat after you craved a salad and ice cream.
,,He had an important job to do,ââ you explained. Of course you didnât tell him that the agency tracked him down and killed him brutally while he tried to keep you, his heavily pregnant, hidden.
,,And what is he doing now?ââ he kept asking you as you remembered the day, as if it was yesterday, when he pushed you into the closet, begging you to close your ears and never come out until called you.
However, that call never came. Instead, Saeyoung pulled you out moments later. You didnât remember how much time passed.
You just knew that he asked you to keep your eyes closed as he led the way out of the room.
,,He is now protecting you, me, uncle Saeyoung, uncle Saeran, uncle Jumin, uncle Zen, uncle Yoosung and aunt Jaehee,ââ you answered with a smile.
How much he would have loved to meet his son, you were sure.
He was your happiness after all, the last memento of Vanderwood.

Interview with Till about his life: he fought with his father, killed his beloved dog, swam on a wild river and worked on suffering. How Till Lindemann's mind works
"I will finish you off" and why you fought for the German army.
Werner Lindemann wanders around the room, interrupting the silence with strange questions, writing something down. His motive is to get to know his son and make him a friend. But it's complicated. Generational conflict.
"My island of tranquility is shaken every day. The day before yesterday, a guy pulled on my socks because his were torn. Yesterday he didn't put out a single lamp in the house. Now, with voluptuous delight, he spits cherry pits into the cat's fur. Is this grown boy really an adult?"
The apprenticeship in Rostock, where you have to do window production after graduation, is the limit of boredom. Till Lindemann moved to his father in the countryside so that he could forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and not fall under the article for anti-social attitudes. He thought of a new life, in which there was no pointless work, and arranged an attic in his father's house.
In the mornings over coffee, he scolded life that everything went according to schedule. And listened very loudly to music - electronics and metal. My father didn't understand and grumbled: âI matured late. Naturally, I wanted to listen to the music I liked, but I could not get my hands on these records. For example, my father did not understand when I bought the Alice Cooper record for a month's salary.
Werner Lindemann was a children's writer who went through the war.
At the height of his career he disappeared for weeks on literary tours - his fame spread to teachers and librarians across the country. His father pecked at Lindemann for refusing to work and promised to turn him in:
"My willful child. What doesn't fit his standards is rejected as nonsense or crap." So he took a job as a carpenter, where he made shovel cuttings and cart wheels. The head foreman constantly drank vodka during the day, didn't want to be annoyed with questions and addressed the long-haired Lindemann with the nickname: "Mozart!" This suited him.
Werner Lindemann talked about war, hard existence and limitations. For example, about a grenade splinter that remained in his body. Lindemann did not believe in all these stories - but categorically did not accept service, war and murder:
âAfter that I objected: âI would hide, I would not go to war. Why did you even let yourself be dragged into this? You could have hidden."
And he said: âIt didn't work out. They searched for it and it took away."
Then I said: âI would rather go under arrest. Never in my life, I would go to the front line to shoot people. It's against my nature. It would be better if I went to jail."
Much of the time father and son were simply silent, even while watching television.
"He regularly made me feel guilty, to say the least, he placed himself on a pedestal towards me: I shouldn't complain. At your age, I ran barefoot through the stubble, and in my stomach - a potato in a uniform."
The only acceptance is Mike Oldfield's music: "One day my father came to grumble again. At that moment I was listening to Mike Oldfield, and he sat down and said: "That sounds interesting."
For me it was like a quantum leap: my father sits in my room, listens to my music and thinks it was good. Probably because of melancholy. He was sitting in a rocking chair that I made myself - at the time I was working as a carpenter on a farm. I, too, always sat in an armchair, immersed myself in music and smoked hand-rolled cigarettes."
The conflict was intensified by a fight. Lindemann bought a Trabant car, installed speakers in it and tested the sound - loud as usual. âThen my father came and I had to turn off this fucking music. It was kind of loud for him. He was then fiddling around his cases of flowers, and then suddenly the situation escalated. I think he slapped me while I was still in the car.
He leaned toward me and hit me with the back of his hand. I made some bullshit remarks like, "Leave me alone," something like that. That was a provocation to him, and he said: "If you do that again, I'll hit you for real." And I said, "Then you'll get it back. Because you're crazy. Don't you dare to hit me anymore."
And then he hit me with his palm again. He wasn't controlling himself.
He was exalting himself. Instantly he introduced himself as a boxer - he had boxed in the Hitler Youth - and I just... I thought I didn't hit him, I just pushed him away. And then he stood in front of me again, "Come on, I'll finish you, you haven't got a chance!" Somehow. After that, he went up to the attic and threw all my stuff out the window.
It happened over the weekend, my sister was there, a lot of screaming, serious drama. Then I packed my things, put them in the car, went to a friend's house and never went into his house again. At first I lived with this friend, and a week later I bought myself a house in the village."
His father's book is about his son, which the son will only open up after the death of the father.
Lindemann is a late child. He was born when his father was 36. The gap in their relationship was felt in everyday life and perception of the world. Werner Lindemann woke up early in the morning, worked with the circular saw under the windows and did not understand when his son slept until noon after a working week.
Lindemann's parents then lived separately, but kept in touch. Mom worked as a journalist and discussed her texts with his father. "She still lived in Rostock and always came to see him only on weekends. Mostly on Sundays she came back quite early, because she couldn't stand the stress of being with him, either."
In 1988, the book âMike Oldfield im Schaukelstuhl Notizen eines Vaters" In this book, Lindemann Senior describes the relationship with his son (whom he calls Timm in the book), who settled with him at the age of 18. The book was written in the 80s and laid on the table until the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany were reunited.
Werner Lindemann wanted his son to take up writing too. But this only amused him, although as a child he wrote poetry. At the age of 13, little Till Lindemann and his father were returning home along the bumpy road to Mecklenburg. They talked about career self-determination:
"You should already have thoughts about what you want to become, boy." My answer: "I don't know yet, maybe a fisherman on the high seas."
But immediately, no matter what I said, objections arose: âBut then you have to get a certificate of maturity. But then you will be away all the time. But then you won't be able to start a relationship."
There was always a âbutâ.
At some point it got on my nerves, as usual. And I said: "Worst case scenario, I'll just become a writer.
I still remember how alienated his face became. "And what do you think then, what do I do! It's a very hard job! In fact, it's not even a job, it's a passion. And it's a job that's supposed to be enjoyable."
I said, "I don't know anybody who works with pleasure."
"Yeah, that's the problem. You have to look for a job that gives you pleasure." Then I say again, "But some people never get to choose..." This gigantic discussion happened because I didn't take his profession seriously. At the same time, he was completely lost, funny!"
Lindemann thoughtfully read his father's book, in which he comprehends their relationship, after his death. Faked for hidden anger and indecision. For example, in a situation where their dog Kurt was bitten by a fox. The father was frightened because of rabies: âAt the same time, we did not even know whether he was bitten by a fox or not. The father immediately called the huntsman. But I said: no one will enter this courtyard and shoot the dog. I'll do it myself if I really need it. At some point I really had to kill the dog."
Lindemann is not a monster. The animals he fiddled with are an important attribute of childhood. He had an aquarium and hamsters, brought mice and rats home, and was friends with dogs. âLike many children of new buildings, he felt the need for someone alive, in need of love,â said Werner Lindemann. Sometimes the appearance of an animal in the house was surprising:
âThis guy will never say what he's up to. He appears on the doorstep at the same time as me. He gets out from his vehicle, throws his coat open and puts a young black shepherd in my hands. "Your Christmas present!"
Till's father is speechless. My son stands before me like the sun's little brother. Touchingly concerned, he directs me into the house, working out a plan for the animal husbandry, accommodation and diet of our new pet housemate.
With confusion, a question flies from my lips, "Wheredid you get the dog from?" "Timm" is gibbering, "Imagine, the mason in the barnyard wanted to hang him, simply wanted to strangle him with a rope, said he was a worthless eater..."
Werner Lindemann died of stomach cancer in 1993, when his son was 30. They didn't finally reconcile, but Till visited him in his last days and was there for him with his mother: "They couldn't be without each other, even though they lived apart. Unreal, but my mother never had another man afterwards. To this day she can't let go of him."
- Not going to the Olympics in Moscow and ending up in the German ghetto
Lindemann had the knowledge and the potential to be a swimmer. And a shyness that pounded harder three days before the competition than concerts in front of crowds of thousands. "I know how difficult it is to develop willpower and stamina and instill those attributes. In the GDR this was instilled in us by coaches and so-called functionaries."
Lindemann came to swimming at the age of eight and devoted his entire youth to the sport. He would get up for training at five in the morning and pass out in the evening. His grandmother watched him from the stands. At a competition in Leipzig she shouted at the coach, who told Lindemann off for a poor result. The grandmother took the coach by the ear and said: "How do you talk to my grandson?"
Sports tightened up his upbringing and developed self-discipline. âDrilling - probably the boy has already received this experience as a swimmer,â Lindemann's father wrote. - Once he had to take second place in a competition, but by no means first place. Of course, he got carried away, forgot about it, became the first, thanks to which he received a shouting for indiscipline. And whenever he lost in the future, his coach would torture him at practice for a long time and yelled at him: "Even if you win, you're not a winner yet!"
Lindemann swam the 1.5 km freestyle and could have gone to the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. Everything was ruined when he left the hotel without permission during a competition in Florence: "I didn't want to run, but just wanted to look at the city. Cars, bikes, girls. I was caught and kicked out of the team, but then I didn't give the required results either."
Lindemann competed at the European Junior Championships, but did not go any higher. After the story in Florence, his career in sport slipped away. Perhaps an abdominal injury influenced his departure. Lindemann is gone, but he doesn't yearn: "I was relatively young. There were no good [memories] left. I was glad it was over."
"The hardest part was getting back to normal. I fell into a real hole. My home was no longer a sports school, but a ghetto in Rostock. Now I stood out through drinking and fighting. I used to be surrounded only by beautiful ladies who were interested in swimming. Now I had fierce women standing in front of me asking, "How come you don't drink?" When I was shy about approaching a girl, it was interpreted as: "Are you gay?"
Lindemann now works with a coach and swims a few kilometers before his tours to get in shape: "When I exercise, I feel a certain lightness - not only physically, but also mentally. I just feel better. The main problem is staying in shape. That's where self-discipline comes into play. Teeth grinding is important."
- Three weeks in the wild and loneliness as a creative tool
Emotionally, concerts = sports:
"How do I go on tour? Hungry. And happy. It is good to compare concerts with sport. You don't want to do both at first. You don't want to go on stage. You don't want to go to the pool. You don't want to go to the boxing ring. It all happens with reluctance. It has to be accepted somehow, that's life: spring, summer, fall, winter.
When it's done, winter's gone, the blooming begins, greenery appears, it gets bright, and you start to get a taste for it. When it's over, you feel happy. Then the body produces a sea of chemistry, a lot of happiness hormones. I think the body rewards itself."
The stage, like sports, is an embarrassment, but a necessity. Lindemann wore dark glasses in order to collect fewer views from the audience. Therefore, a couple of steps before the water, he looked at the pool with a shiver. You need to cope with yourself in order to open up to new emotions.
Lindemann's gut requires solitude and moderate solitude. This is the point:
âLoneliness is always good for a creative push - you drink a glass of wine and you feel even shitier. Art is not complete without suffering; art exists to compensate for suffering."
With his friend Joey Kelly, Lindemann spent three weeks on the Yukon River. They paddled through the wilderness in a kayak for eight to 10 hours each and lived in a tent. Lindemann didn't take a tape recorder with him, so he transferred the lyrics wandering in his head on paper.
They were catching inspiration and atmosphere:
"There were times when we wouldn't say a word for hours, but then: look there, look there! It was breathtakingly beautiful. These relatively fast-changing panoramas and skies, layers of clouds, the colors.
Except for a few bears and wolves, it's hard to see anyone else out there, it's exhilarating. Along the way we saw two hunters setting traps. No one else.
I grew up in the countryside, and I have a very strong connection to nature. I love fishing, hunting. It's an archaic experience that I like to revisit over and over again. When I'm in the city for too long, I start to miss it."
To recreate situations in the Yukon, Lindemann and Kelly trained for nine months on the Rhine river in Germany because of its liveliness.
"We went down the Rhine to where the transport ships create huge bow waves. If we hadn't had a coach with us, we probably would have been sunk by the side wave impact already during our first attempt," Lindemann said.
Together with Kelly, he had four sessions with two coaches and swam from Cologne to Koblenz [more than 100 kilometers by car]. Lindemann trained separately each week on the lakes in Mecklenburg. It's both physically challenging and savage identical to being natural.
In 2015, Till started his solo project Lindemann. On the album Skills In Pills, the song Yukon was released, in which the lyrics appeared first, and then the music.
- "My lyrics come from pain rather than desire."
The country boy is big and not much of a talker. That's how the Rammstein members saw him at the start, when they were hanging out at home. "He looked cool, like a big peasant talking one sentence an hour," keyboard player Christian "Flake" Lorenz recalled. - He always had food and vodka. He'd just steal a couple of ducks somewhere and cook them on a tray. And then, frozen like in Sleeping Beauty, there were people lying in corners and on trunks in his house."
Lindemann loves and appreciates home gatherings. This came from my father, who always had guests. âIn my opinion, this is the little bit that I inherited from him. Throwing parties and gathering people. Throwing parties and getting people together. He just enjoyed being a good host. The house was always full of guests from Leipzig, from Rostock, foreign guests, even from Kazakhstan.
It was always exciting for him. He stood at the stove, cooked, bought an abundance of wine, and there was always a fire in the garden. At some point he stopped drinking, then he left the party at 21:00 and the whole company continued to feast. And in the morning he got up at four, cleaned and tidied up."
Till Lindemann is about self-digging, overcoming and childish shyness, which is covered by a pumped-up figure of a swimmer. This is how Lindemann decrypts himself:
âą âAnd I really am like a big child - ill-mannered, but harmless. People think that I am always strong, explosive. This is not true. I am sensitive and easily hurt, but in love I am romantic and passionate."
âą âAt the very beginning, you sit somewhere in a dark room, open a bottle of wine and figure out how to make the lyrics popular with the music. At first you only have a vague idea of ââwhat it could be.
And when, three years after recording, mixing, and more mixing, developing the artwork, all this nonsense, then you stand on stage, and what you came up with then really works, when you manage to get 20 thousand people to raise their hands, then you experience incredible sensations."
âą âArt is a kind of therapy.
When I feel that something is arising inside me, domineering and is most often dark, I need to give it a way out, otherwise it will simply crush me. So destruction and self-destruction are the two pillars on which my creativity is based.
But everyone chooses this for himself.
âą âMy lyrics arise from feelings and dreams, but still more from pain than by desire. I often have nightmares, and I wake up at night sweating, as I see terrible bloody scenes in my dreams. My lyrics are a kind of valve for the lava of feelings in my soul.
We are all struggling to hide behind good manners and outward decency, but in fact we are governed by instincts and feelings: hunger, thirst, horror, hatred, the desire for power and sex. Of course, there is also additional energy in us - this is love. Without it, all human feelings would fade away."
- "When you're constantly living someone else's life, it's very hard to get back into your own skin. I like that in principle, but sometimes you start to get confused - are you out of a role or not yet. You're already Till, or you're still a homicidal maniac."
- "I hate the noise. I hate the chatter. I expose myself to it, which is pure masochism. And then I have to protect myself from it. Noise makes you crazy. You die in it."
âą âI think there is no God. And if he is and actually allows all the misfortunes on this earth, then he must punish me along with other sufferings. I will not pray to such a god."
This is how the members of Rammstein see Till - flexible and with a split personality:
Guitarist Paul Landers: "Till is so good that when you let him know that his lyrics should go in a different direction, the very next day he brings a new version of the song."
Guitarist Richard Kruspe: âHe's a hell of an extreme man. He dives very deeply into situations where I cannot follow him. Everything he does is very extreme; I don't know anyone who does it. "
Drummer Christoph Schneider: "I would not want to be in Till's shoes: his soul is tormented by doubts and contradictions, he is equally a moralist and a monster."

âBut like how rich is he?â
âRich enough to buy this building three four times overâ you mumbled, not really paying much attention to Jungwoo and more on the cake youâre trying to decorate
âAnd you broke up with him? Wah noonaâ you looked over at him with a glare, signaling him to shut up.Â
It was the day after the gala, you were supposed to take the day off but youâd rather keep yourself busy than overthink at home. Thus why youâre here now at the cafe with a very nosy Jungwoo beside you with his 100 questions after finding out you dated the Jung Jaehyun.Â
âIâm three seconds away from kicking you out of this store permanentlyâÂ
âThatâs the third time I heard that, this monthâ he smiled at you, walking back to the kitchen to grab the other pastries to be displayed. Itâs still pretty early and itâs the weekend so you donât expect that many people right now.
âSo is he the guy you dated when you were in college?â
âYesâ
âYou didnât say he owned a big companyâ
âAre we playing 20 questions right now? Go serve the customersâ you pushed him to the side when you heard the bell right, going back to what you were doing and letting Jungwoo deal with it.Â
âGoodmorning, what can I get you today?â
âTwo iced americano pleaseâ
Hold up, you know that voice. You donât even have to look up to see who it was, âIs that all? Would you like to try some of our cakes and pastries? Itâs good to pair with the coffeeâ Jungwoo said, still clueless about who heâs currently talking toÂ
âIs that green tea with pistachio? Iâll take a slice of thatâ it just so happens it was the cake you were currently setting up.Â
âSure thing, is that all?â After taking his order, the guy walked to a vacant table.Â
âNoona, should I set you up with that guy? He was looking at you, plus he looks handsome and richâ
âJungwooâ
âMhm?â
âShut upâ
You were preparing the order when the bell rang again, âGoodmorning, welcome to the cafeâ Jungwoo greeted happily.Â
âOh, looks like heâs with someoneâ that made you halt for a second but quickly shaking it away. Passing the tray over to Jungwoo, âHere, go serve this and please stop being nosyâ.
Jaehyun wanted to visit the cafe for some time now, but he didnât want it to seem like heâs stalking you. He already knew you know how to bake, your cookies were his favorite. You used to bake those for him after exams as a way to cheer him up.
He didnât know the first time heâll be visiting here is when heâs about to break-up with his current âgirlfriendâ, with you standing only a few meters away. But after last nightâs gala, Chungha called him suddenly asking if they could talk.Â
âHereâs your order, is there anything else I could get you?â Jungwoo asked him and Chunga but the girl just shook her head with a smile, âReally? green tea cake? Your taste is so weird sometimesâ she chuckled at the sight of cake on the table
âItâs one of the more unique flavors, we also have a chocolate one. Itâs our bestsellerâ Jungwoo added, âMaybe later, thanksâÂ
After Jungwoo walked away, the two were left alone to talk.Â
âGo on, just say itâ
âYou donât have to act all tough all the time you knowâÂ
His eyes landing on hers, as if he was telling her to just get on with it. âWe had a good runâ she chuckled, âWhat will your parents say when the word gets out?â Jaehyun asked. He might seem like a cold guy but he does still have some empathy left in him,
âIâll deal with it. Happiness comes at a price, it just took me this long to realize Iâm willing to pay for it no matter what the cost. Maybe you should tooâ
Jaehyun canât help but look over at you, you were having a conversation with the guy that took his order and was laughing at something he said. Jaehyunâs gaze made Chungha look over at the side too, in that moment she knew
âSo thatâs her?â
âNoâ he cleared his throat before drinking his coffee, âYou know you canât lie that good, not to me atleast. Or her it looks like. Word of advice though, if sheâs worth it just do itâ
You were doing your best to ignore the two people on the far side of your cafe, Jaehyun and the girl looked like they were having a very serious conversation. When the girl stood up you immediately busied yourself again, then someone was standing infront of the counter on the other side.Â
âI heard the chocolate cake is the best seller hereâ she said, her voice gentle and sweet. She seems like a lovely lady.Â
âYea, and the chocolate chip cookies too. Would you like to try it?â you asked her with a smile of your own
âIâll take both to goâ you packed the treats yourself, passing it over to her as she hand you her payment
âGreen tea cake, sounds differentâ she chuckled, looking at the cake with a single slice missing âOh yea, I just like trying out flavors here and thereâ
âWhat are you talking about? You always make that, if you want to try something new, you can order that. We always have extraâ Jungwoo butted in, âWill keep that in mind, my friend loves that flavorâ
âOh, friendâ Jungwoo said then looking over at you, âThanks by the wayâ the lady said then walked out the door.Â
âFriendâ Jungwoo repeated with a wicked grin on
âStopâ
âBut this is your chance at finally landing someone! Jihyo may be bad at setting you up maybe I canâ
âNo-â
âLetâs just try, see heâs walking over hereâ
âI said-â âUh can I have this cake to go, please? Iâll also get the rest of itâ Jaehyun said looking back and forth between you and Jungwoo
âSure, would that be all?â you asked as if you didnât know him
âUhm so my boss here-â you elbowed him on the stomach, trying to stop him from continuing. âIâm here! Sorry Iâm a bit late, class finished later than I thoughtâ Sungchan announced as he enter the shop, making the three of you look over at the tall boy
âOh, hyung what are you doing here?â he asked Jaehyun when he spotted him, âYou two know each other?â Jungwoo asked from beside you
Then it clicked, you almost wanted to slap yourself. How can you be so stupid, youâre not sure.Â
âYouâre related, how come I never put that togetherâ you looked back and forth between the two
âYou two know each other?â Sungchan asked back, âSomething like thatâ Jaehyun mumbled. That made Jungwoo look over at you then Jaehyun then at you again, âOh, Jung Sungchan. then you must be-â
After that stressful encounter, you chose to just call it an early day and leave the boys at the cafe. Jaehyun didnât say much afterwards, just waited for his order then left with a few words said to his younger brother.Â
Add that to the list of things you were thinking about. After the gala yesterday, after seeing Jaehyunâs mom again you canât help but overthink about things again. A big part of you itching to do what youâve always been meaning to do, something you wish you never did.Â
Unable to stop yourself, you opened the door of your closet and rummaged through until you find the box stashed inside. Stuffing it in your bag before shruging your coat on, took your keys and drove off.Â
You've only been at their place once, that was the first and last time.Â
Itâs what you see in movies, the typical huge mansion rich people have in movies. The Jungs were no exception, their home looked like something straight out of a magazine. Until now you feel like you shouldnât be here.Â
Parking your car on the driveway, you walked towards the front door. Knocking twice and wait for someone to open the door, when it did it was just the person you wanted to see,Â
âCan we talk?â
Jaehyun didnât expect the turn of events this day had, after finding out his youngest sibling works part time at your cafe ofcourse he had to know more. Telling Sungchan heâll wait until his shift is over to drive him home.Â
âYou didnât tell me you work at the cafeâ
âWhy? would you stop me just like mom?â the younger one asked, he knew what his brother meant. With their mother thereâs almost little to no room for freedom, their lives were planned out for them. As kids they were told what they should be when they grow up, expectations they had to meet, things they needed to accomplish.Â
âNo, itâs close to my office. You couldâve just worked for meâ he answered, the older brother tone gone
âThen whatâs the point? Like I said, I wanted to atleast see the world on my own before mom and dad stops me. Or atleast until collegeâ Sungchan mumbles
âIf you donât want to study the course mom and dad are making you study just tell me, Iâll help youâ
âWhy? Theyâll just get mad at you tooâ
âThen they can be both mad at us, donât make the same stupid mistakes I did. Donât take too long to decide that this isnât the life you donât want to live. Just... just be you. If they wonât have that, then youâll have meâ he sincerely said, meaning every word he just said.Â
He wished he had someone to say that to him back then, in a way he did. You told him that.Â
Even if the world is against him, heâll have your hand to hold on to.Â
âSo, how did you know Y/N noona?â
âWe went to same collegeâ he answered, keeping it brief. After that Sungchan didnât ask anymore questions. When they finally arrived at their home, thereâs an unfamiliar car on the driveway. Assuming that it was one of their parentâs visitor,
âAre you staying the night?â Sungchan ask as they walk towards the house, âNo, just came to talk to mom about somethingâ
âOkay, well see you laterâ the two brothers went their own ways, Sungchan skipping up the stairs to his room while Jaehyun walk around the house looking for his mom.Â
What he didnât expect was to see who she was talking to, they were at the foyer, sitting at opposite sides of the table.Â
âEven when I didnât have anything to my name, I never touched a cent in that envelope. Iâm ashamed I even took in the first place, that was my mistake. And Iâm still paying for it until now, you got what you wanted. Jaehyun hates meâ
You were talking about him with his mother?Â
What envelop were you talking about?
âThen why did you take it?â
âBecause it was the only way youâll stop, I thought if I took the money and disappeared you would atleast spare him, youâd let him live the way he wants to. I donât care if heâs angry at me, he has every right to beâ you answered, no sign of intimidation or fear in your voice.Â
But he does hear the pain, and he hated it.Â
âYour son is worth more than whatever you give me, that money is bitter reminder of my lowest point. But even then, Iâd rather starve and have no roof over my head than spend a single cent you gave me. Itâs up to you if you tell him what you did, I think weâre way past the point of going back anyways. He canât even stand being in the same room as me. One way or another, you got what you wanted. All I want is my peace, I donât want that with me anymore, I donât want to keep that in the corner of my closet like the monster Iâm too scared to faceâ
Jaehyun was trying to take all of your words in, struggling to process the truth he just accidently uncovered.Â
All those years he thought you left him because you didnât love him was in fact not what really happened, His mother, surprisingly but not really, manipulated his life yet again.Â
âAll of the money is still in there, I havenât touched that since then. I was just waiting for the day I could finally give it back to you. Iâm pretty sure you donât need it, but neither do Iâ you said your final words then rose from your seat.Â
When you turned around to leave the place you didnât expect to see the person standing by the door, a gasp leaving Mrs. Jungâs mouth
âJaehyunâ she said but his gaze was on you
You didnât have to ask him, you already knew he heard it. How much? probably enough judging by the look on his face.Â
You looked at him with same intense stare, trying to say your apologies without saying anything at all. It feels like thereâs this weight lifted off of you after you gave the envelope containing the money back to his mom. Like this time you can look him in the eyes without thinking about the money stashed away in your closet.
There are still questions floating in his mind, you could tell. But Jaehyun didnât look as troubled as he should be, even with the overwhelming amount of questions in his head he knew this time it would be okay. You were the only answer he needed.

i hate u, i love u // spencer reid x fem!reader
spencer reid x reader
aaron hotchner x reader
part one - part two
a/n: did i damn near put this entire song in this fic? yes, yes i did iâm so sorry....highly unedited.
how was your guysâ holiday?
warning(s): language. angst. fluff....
word count: 2.6k
request(ed): yes.
summary: old things try to get fixed, while new feelings and places...arise and get mixed.
(wtf am i dr. seuss now??)
ââââââââââââââ&âââââââââââ
feeling used, but iâm still missing you. and i canât see the end of this, just wanna feel your kiss, against my lips
and now all this time, is passing by.... but i canât seem to tell you why. it hurts me every time i see you realize how much i need you...
Seeing Spencer and actually letting all of that out did a number on you. You apologized to Aaron countless times and he said it was okay countless times but you still felt so bad. He didnât deserve that. He didnât deserve your drama, and not to mention how embarrassing itâs been. You felt like you ruined his whole night. It was supposed to be fun and yet you didnât have any. He said he did but you know Hotch didnât.
Youâd have to make it up to him somehow soon but you didnât know how. How are you supposed to fix this? Any of this??
It feels like youâre being sucked into the eye of a tornado little by little and you just canât get out. It feels like everyone else is safe on the ground feet planted and theyâre all just staring at you and laughing. Staring and not helping.
Your chest hurt. You hated feeling like this. So helpless...and stuck. You were stuck and not ready to fix it...well...part of it. You could still fix one thing. You didnât have to be stuck here. Here in this small apartment with no room for anything let alone breathe. You needed space. You needed change. You needed control. Everything is spinning in circles and thereâs nothing you can do about it. You canât stop it.
So why not do something that could help you? That youâve been meaning to do but never had the time for?
Apartment searching. Well...bigger apartment searching.
Where you were staying now was a studio apartment. You loved the open concept except for how small it was. You just need room.
Before...
âI like it here. Itâs so small and cute.â
You could tell cute was a foreign word to Spencer when it came to describing a building. But he was trying. You thought he was cute.
âThanks Spencer but Iâm thinking something different. Maybe another bedroom for a roommate...or just a bigger one for yâknow...another person.â
You never really brought up the idea of moving in together before. Sure, itâd be easier...his job was nearby, and there was a bus stop at the end of the street, and there was you....so his reaction kind of put you...off.
âRoommate sounds good. One of your friends maybe? Although I wouldnât want her to yâknow...interrupt us.â He had that cute seductive tone to his voice but he wasnât sounding very cute and seductive.
You werenât going to argue. âYeah...a roommate. Who do you think I should ask?â you paused. âSara or Malia?â
Spencer was quiet for a moment, like he was thinking. âMalia maybe?â
You didnât have a friend named Malia.
And thatâs what hurt the most you think. The fact that you still thought about him 24/7 even though what you had with him wasnât perfect. You thought it was before..you thought he was before..but now youâre realizing nothing about it was perfect but at least it was something. Now you have nothing.
It was only the afternoon so you decided to look for some places. You found 3 places suitable for what you were looking for. All 3 were good sizes, good prices, and a good amount away from your job and college. You felt almost lucky. This felt almost too easy.
Until you saw the first two places in person. They were okay, but not really what you were looking for.
The last place though...the place was great, the location was great, the neighborhood was great, hell even the yard. Hell, youâd have no use for it, you didnât have a kid but it was still a nice looking yard. You could tell that someone in the apartment, hopefully your new neighbor, took great care of the gardens.
You looked around at the surrounding mix of apartments and houses (mostly houses) and saw 2 little kids playing in the house 2 houses over. One of them looked like Jack. It couldnât be, right? Hotchâs house wasnât over here.
Nevertheless you watched for a few seconds and it was Jack. You decided to go over and say hi.
Jack stopped playing and immediately ran towards you.
âY/N!!â He grinned. You got down to his level and hugged him back just as enthusiastically.
âHey Jackie! Whatcha doin?â He only let you call him that. Only you.
âSleepover. This is Sam. Itâs almost time for Ana to drop me off at home though.â
You said hi to Sam and asked if Ana was his mom. She was and as soon as you told Sam your name, Ana came out of the house and waved you over.
âHey, Iâm Y/N. Friend of Jackâs and Hotch.â
She smiled. And shook your hand.
âIâm Ana. Iâve heard about you! Jack talks about you quite a lot.â
You and Ana talked for a while. She seemed like a really amazing person. If you end up getting the place you could see you and her becoming great friends, and since she seemed really busy you offered to take Jack home. She protested but you insisted. It wasnât like you were doing much anyway. The landlord had already left and you were just going to go home anyway.
On the way to Hotchâs you bought Jack his favorite ice cream. You couldnât help it.
The whole car ride Jackâs conversation thankfully distracted you but when you got to his house you couldnât help but remember that night and how embarrassed you felt.
Seeing Hotch only made it worse. Especially since he wasnât wearing his work clothes- just a shirt and sweatpants, and you couldnât help but look because he looked incredibly.....good. He looked so great and you were so mad at yourself for how that night ended with him. You were supposed to be having fun and neither of you did.
He hugged you when you got to the door anyway. You explained to him what happened- even the apartment searching while he invited you in for coffee.
A whole year with Spence and he never invited you in. Ever.
Do you miss me like I miss you? Fucked around and got attached to you Friends can break your heart too And Iâm always tired but never of you
If I pulled a you on you, you wouldnât like that shit I put this reel out, but you wouldnât bite that shit I type a text but then I never mind that shit I got these feelings but you never mind that shit
âMom, please, Iâm fine. Nothingâs wrong.â
Your mom gave you a look over her mug that said, âDo I look like Iâm dumb?â And she wasnât. Perhaps you werenât any good at hiding your feelings. Could everyone tell?
You were doing better now.
Itâs been a month? Maybe two.
Either way itâs been a while and you werenât as hurt as you were before. Some nights you woke up heart aching, tears falling, but you arenât as bad as you were those first few weeks.
Truth is, you missed Spencer. You spent those weeks blaming yourself and wondering why you why you?
But you accepted that you werenât ready for that answer. A part of you had forgiven Spencer. A part.
You were still heartbroken. You were still angry and hurt. But youâve been trying to move on. In fact, youâd be moving entirely. Yesterday you finished all the paperwork with your new landlord. You were going to finish packing after visiting your mom.
âMomma Iâm fine thereâs just a lot going on right now.â
She wouldnât accept that answer. She persisted you told her what was wrong. So you did. You told her about Spencer...and about Hotch...
Aaron.
You had been spending some weekends with him. Some were alone, just the two of you, and other times it was the three of you. Him, Jack, and you. Whenever you thought about Hotch you had the feeling in your stomach you got whenever you heard from Spencer.
But you still have that feeling for Spencer.
Things were so confusing right now - you werenât sure if you wanted to move on from Spencer. You didnât want to rush in with Aaron either though. Thatâd hurt the both of you.
Last weekend...
âY/N you cannot tell me you think New Girl is better than Friends.â
Aaron was in a gray shirt and sweatpants while you were in relatively the same. You both sat together on his couch each a cup of coffee in your hands. You had promised youâd help him shop with Jack for new clothes and you had just agreed to stay the night since it had gotten so late.
âOh a hundred percent. New Girl is way better.â
Hotch laughed.
âFriends is a classic. There wouldnât be a New Girl without Friends.â
âThere wouldnât be a Friends without Living Single Aaron.â
He rolled his eyes but conceded. âTrue but still. Friends is better.â
You hadnât been that happy in a while. You were breathing...you were living. Out in the open. Unbidden.
You ever wonder what we could have been? You said you wouldnât and you fucking did Lie to me, lie with me, get your fucking fix Now all my drinks and all my feelings are fucking mixed
Always missing people that I shouldnât be missing Sometimes you gotta burn some bridges just to create some distance I know that I control my thoughts and I should stop reminiscing But I learned from my dad that itâs good to have feelings
There was a bottle of liquor in your hand
You would have gone to the bar but you were too sad for it. You didnât have the will.
Earlier today you decided that you should get a muffin from the coffee shop and see how Em was doing. Right when you got to the door, who was in the window caught your eye.
Spencer.
Spencer and JJ.
Laughing, and eating, and kissing...
In the open. Out in public.
Were you just not good enough? Was that it? Could you not understand him because you didnât work in the BAU? Was what you had all one sided?
Unanswered questions and half a bottle later you were passed out on your couch crying.
You thought you were over it for sure this time. But it still fucking hurts. Is keeping your heart open waiting for him even worth it?
The next morning you took a hot shower. The hottest shower you could handle. You were hungover, and you felt like shit but you still had to pack the rest of your things to move. You still had to move.
Your speakers were on the highest level and your music was so loud you didnât hear the door knock. You only screamed when you felt someone behind you.
It was Aaron.
âJesus christ!!â You went to turn down the music.
âYou could have killed me!â
âYes I very well could have!â His arms were crossed. He was upset but still in a playful mood. You could tell. âI could have been a serial killer, you have to lock your doors!â
You rolled your eyes. âOkay, okay, Iâll lock my doors next time.â
He nodded approval as you went to the refrigerator to get him a bottle of water.
âWhatâs going on?â
âOh I didnât tell you?â How had that slipped your mind?
He shook his head.
âIâm moving.â
âYouâre moving?â He looked disappointed.
âYeah not far. A few houses down from Ana actually.â
âOh good.â He said relieved.â
After that, he decided he wanted to help you. It was nice not being alone even though you told him he didnât have to stay. He wanted to.
He even helped you transfer the boxes to your new apartment. You didnât know Aaron had a voice on him...but he did.
âWe built this city!â he sang/shouted.
âWe built this city on rock and -â
âWe built this city!â he answered.
âWe built this city on rock and -â
âRollllllllllâ you sang together.
You giggled when the song was over and he grabbed your hand for the rest of the drive. You didnât pull away. It felt too nice. It felt too right.
After helping you put your boxes into your next place it was time for him to head home. He told you that he could stay and help some more if you wanted but you could tell he was tired. You were tired. You told him youâd call if you needed any more help.
He made you promise you would because he knows you wonât if you feel like you absolutely can do it yourself even when you shouldnât.
You promised.
On his way out there was a moment where you could have kissed him. Where you were saying goodbye and you were in the doorway and you were close enough to...but you didnât. You werenât ready. He knew you werenât ready. He knew.
The feelings you have for Hotch keep growing but the feelings you have for Spencer stay the same. Spencer used to be your everything. But you werenât his. You needed someone who would put you first. Well...close to first. Jack should always come first. Always.
You need to come first when it comes to women. Spencer didnât put you first. Would he ever?
All alone I watch you watch her Like sheâs the only girl youâve ever seen You donât care you never did You donât give a damn about me
Yeah, all alone I watch you watch her She is the only thing you ever see How is it you never notice That you are slowly killing me?
Your phones ringtone was blaring and when you opened your tired eyes to read the time on your bedside table it read â3 AM.â Who would call this late? Or...early? Either way you didnât check the screen and just decided to click green and put the phone to your ear.
âHello?â Your voice was groggy and you were a little annoyed to be woken up so early. Itâs rude to do that to someone. Especially someone who only went to bed three hours ago.
âY/N.â It wasnât a question and it wasnât in command. It was a sigh of relief followed by sniffles and a hiccup. It was Spencer.
âI didnât think youâd pick up.â he said.
âYouâre lucky I didnât check my screen I should just -â
The only form of communication youâve had with him since the incident was a few texts. Dry texts. On both ends.
âNo!â he panicked. âPlease donât hang up please, please, I - I couldnât sleep.â
You shut your eyes in frustration. âYou called me at three in the morning because you couldnât sleep?â
âNo, I - Iâm apologizing because I couldnât sleep, no I - Iâm apologizing because I was - I donât know -â
âSpencer I really donât have time for this. I have things to do tomorrow. Whatâs today Tuesday? Weâll have coffee or something Friday, okay?â
There was silence on the other end for a few seconds. âI have a date, no I mean plans Friday..uhm, Sunday?â
âSunday.â
And you hung up the phone. You didnât mean to sound bitter, you didnât but seriously? You were actually willing to see him for once - maybe a decision your unconscious, pining, mind made - but still, and he canât because of a date? A date?
With JJ no doubt. Of course it was JJ. Itâs always been JJ. Every single time. âI canât today Y/N JJ needs,â or âJJ called I gotta go,â or âShoot Iâm sorry I know we had plans but JJ -â
Will it always be JJ? Will she always be number one? Has she always been number one and you just never realized it? Have you been the girl he just hung out with because he couldnât with her?
A few months ago...
âI bought chinese.â You grinned.
âSmells so good.â Spencer took the bags from your hands and kissed you on the cheek.
Spencer picked the movie this time since you picked it last time. He was sitting in the middle of the couch while you had your legs draped across his. Occasionally heâd bring his hand down to rub your legs.
Things were fine. Things were content. Until his phone rang.
âY/N, Itâs JJ I have to go.â
âWhat does she need?â you ask genuinely worried.
âNothing I donât think. I just gotta go.â
I hate you, I love you I hate that I love you You want her, you need her And Iâll never be her
âââââââââââ-â&âââââââââââââ-
i literally have no idea what this is i -

Mon amour, puisque tu m'aimes. - G.W.
Summary: George and Fred barely fight but when it happens they might not talk to each otherâs for days. After a big fight, George stormed out of the shop and went to muggle London for a walk to calm his nerves. He found himself in one of those old vintage cafes and as he was sitting outside he spot a little flower shop across the street, playing some vintage french songs then he saw her and his heart started trembling.
warnings: swearing, mentions of alcohol, fluff, modern!George and muggle!reader.
note: I love Edith Piaf and vintage songs with all my heart and lately I canât stop to listen âHymn Ă lâamourâ by Edith Piaf. Physically the reader is based on me (hope thatâs not a big deal). I had this idea because I think that George would definitely fall for a muggle, he finds them fascinating just like his father.
âHow dare he say something like that? How dare Fred tell me that my job is not enough and I need to focus more?â
George was furious, he and his brother Fred just had one of their biggest fight ever. He stormed of the shop that he and his brother owned leaving a furious Fred and a confused Ron behind him. He went straight to the Leaky Cauldron and entered muggle London crowded streets. It was early evening and almost everyone was going home after a long day at work.
He decided to calm down his nerves and take a walk around Londonâs little alleys. His mind was full of thoughts, he was thinking about the words he and his twin brother said to each otherâs, angry words that it doesnât matter that they were said impulsively they still hurt.
After a while he found himself in a little street, less crowded, one of those roads that seemed like those roads in small country villages. A little vintage cafes caught his eyes and he decided that he needed a coffee, even if he didnât enjoyed his flavour. After ordering, paying and picked up his coffee, he went out to sit in one of those two-seater tables outside the cafes.
Vintage french musics draw his attention, making him stand up and look around trying to figure out where it came from. His eyes landed on this little flower shop on the street corner so he crossed the street and walk towards it. He was never a big fan of Herbology at Hogwarts or plants in general but he was fascinated by these plants, he also saw lemon trees and they were so yellow and so beautiful and their smell was magnificent and he wondered how could they be so beautiful, they were simple and common plants but they were the most beautiful he had ever seen.
Y/n was watering the tulips inside her little shop, humming that old french song that she put in her âoldiesâ playlist when she spotted this tall red haired man outside her shop, looking at her plants almost suspiciously and she wondered what he was thinking about.
âDid you know that talking to plants makes them grow better?â she calmly said leaning on the front door, still holding the watering can with both hands.
âIs that the secret to having such beautiful plants?â George said turning fully around.
When they met each otherâs eyes they remained silent for a couple of minutes. She was mesmerised by his features, he was indeed handsome and his hair was a fiery shade of orange. On the other hand he was mesmerised by her looks, he found her particular, almost weird but she was absolutely dazzling. She had short brown hair, her haircut right under the ear, that perfectly framed her round face. She was wearing a white flannel shirt and a pair of beige flannel pants and the first buttons of her shirt were open. She was at least one foot lower than George, she wasnât skinny, her waist was slightly narrower than her hips that widened, highlighting her fleshy thighs. And George, being the thighs man he is, had to refrain from staring too long. She was so simple yet so particular and captivating.
âSo you like my plants, ay?â she said smiling and putting the watering can on the side.
âIâm not a big fan of flowers and plants but I have to admit that your plants look very tempting.â
âYou are very temping. No wait- George what the heck. Calm down your hormones, mateâ he mentally cursed himself for thinking such things about her.
âIf my plants are tempting let me show you something then.â She laughed and went inside her shop, shouting a muffled âCome inâ waiting for him to follow her. After having rummaged among the various plants she came back to George with a little succulent in her hands.
âThis is a little Echeveria elegans, which is a succulent plant.â she smiled placing the plant on the counter.
George found himself entering the shop and looking around it, it was much smaller than his but it was lovely, full of colours and aromas. He looked at the plant she brought with her and raised his eyebrows, wondering why she took that plant.
âI want to give you this plant.â Her smile was so big that he sweared her skin was going to break. He panicked because he didnât know how to pay that plant sure he had money with him but muggle money is different from Galleons. He opened his jacket to get his wallet but her hand stopped him.
âNo, itâs a gift.â her hand was still on his forearm and he couldnât help but smile at the contact.
âForgive my rudeness for not introducing myself sooner but Iâm (y/n).â her hand stretched out waiting for George to hold it.
âIâm George and itâs very nice meeting you.â he smiled softly at her, making her blush. She couldnât help but think about how handsome and charming he was.
âYouâre new around here, right? Iâve never seen your face before.â and what a beautiful face she may add.
âNo actually I found myself in this street after a long walk and had a coffee in that lovely cafes I want to add that I think Iâm going back because that coffe was amazing and I usually donât drink or like coffe. Anyway I own a shop with my twin brother.â he was babbling but Oh Merlin she made him so nervous.
âOh yeah? And where is this shop?â the way her brow frowned over in curiosity was adorable.
âOh itâs across town actually, yeahâ his initial enthusiasm had now disappeared.
George looked at his watch and realised that it was almost dinner time and tonight he was supposed to cook for him and Fred.
âIâm sorry but I really need to go now, I guess Iâll see you around then.â he said making his way out of the shop.
âIâll wait for you to come back here again then.â she smiled at him. The sunset made the whole situation looking like one of those romantic muggle movies his parents made him watch.
He waved his hand at her and walked towards the Leaky Cauldron with the biggest smile on his face and this little plant on his huge hands, he felt like Neville back in Hogwarts.
*The next day*
âGood morning Dear (Y/n)â
âGood morning Margaretâ
âOh youâre wearing a dress and youâre in a good mood today. The usual, love?â (Y/n) simply laughed at the old and lovely woman that owned the cafe and nodded at her question.
âCan I ask you something?â she said sipping her hot cappuccino.
âAnything dearâ Margaret smiled at her.
âDid a tall red-haired guy come in here yesterday?â she tried not to look very hopeful.
âHow could I forget him? He had this fiery red hair, this purple suit and he was so tall. Is he your boyfriend?â same old nosey Margaret.
âWhat? No noâ she blushed laughing nervously.
âOh, okay then.â Margaret simply shrugged.
âIf he comes again I offer everything he orders.â she smiled and hurried to open her flower shop.
**
âI donât know why but she was capable of making me nervous. Me? George Fabian Weasley nervous in front of a girl? Sheâs beautiful though, very particular may I add. Anyway Iâll probably visit her again tod-â
âGeorge who the fuck are you talking to?â Fred came out of his room hearing George talking to a plant?
âOh Fred ehm nothing, I mean no oneâ he laughed nervously scratching his neck.
âDo you remember that we have lunch at the Burrow right? Ron and Hermione wants to tell us something.â Fred began to have breakfast as if nothing had happened.
âAlright but I have to go nowâ George rushed down the stairs, making his way to (Y/n)âs flower shop.
He stopped at the cafes and just as he was about to pay, Margaret stopped him.
â(Y/n) offersâ she winked at him. His brows furred but he cracked a smile.
âWhatâs your name, dear?â
âGeorgeâ he said before leaving the cafes and run towards her shop.
While he was sipping his coffe, he stayed outside waiting for her clients to leave but admiring her. She was radiant today, she was wearing a yellow long flower dress, with long sleeves balloon and she curled her hair a bit. âHow cool, they seem shorterâ he thought.
âYou know you didnât have to, right?â he said raising his coffee as soon she was alone in the shop.
âI know, but I wanted to.â everything about her was simply adorable.
He looked around and he found these beautiful and aromatic lilies.
âJust her favourites.â he whispered to himself but (Y/n) heard that and she felt her heart clenched a bit and she didnât know why.
âCan I have a few of these?â he turned her way.
She took the lilies and made a lovely bouquet, she didnât want to be nosey but..
âAre these for your girlfriend?â she said tying the boquet with a pink ribbon.
âMy girlfr- no no, these are for my mom.â he answered almost too quickly. âWe have a family lunch, my brother and his wife want to tell us something. Iâm wondering what it is.â again he was babbling and tell her things that she probably didnât want to hear.
âMaybe sheâs pregnant, I donât know.â she answered giggling. He was going to pay but again she stopped him, shaking her head with a simple smile.
âLet me know if your mum liked them.â she waved her hand and again George found himself with the biggest smile of his face.
**
âMerlinâs beard George, theyâre beautiful.â Molly was thrilled when she saw the lilies. â(Y/n)âs flawless flowers.. never saw it in Diagon Alley, is it a new shop?â
âActually mom itâs a shop in muggle London, yeah.â he scratched the back of his neck, blushing a little.
âAnd tell me, what's she like? Big tits? Big ass?â Fred whispered pushing his shoulder a bit.
âBig tit- Fred what the hell?â he scolded at his twin brother.
âBoys behave we have an announcement!â Ron said clapping his hands drawing everybodyâs attention on him and Hermione.
âIâm pregnant.â Hermione said with a big smile on her face.
â(Y/n), how did you know..â George whispered to himself while clapping his hands at the happy couple.
âWere you talking to me?â asked Fred smirking, acting like he didnât heard Georgeâs exact words.
**
It was Monday morning and it was also (Y/n)âs day off so she decided to walk around London and look for Georgeâs shop, she wanted to surprise him. It took her almost the whole morning but she hadnât seen his shop, he told her that outside his shop there were a huge statue that looked like him so it was impossible to miss. It was around noon and she decided to go visit her grandmother and her flower shop. The only thing was that her grandmother was a witch and her flower shop was in Diagon Alley so she made her way through the Leaky Cauldron and entered Diagon Alley. It has been a while since she was in the wizard world but she knew exactly how to act. Just around the corner she spotted an unfamiliar shop.
Weasleysâ Wizard Wheezes.
The moment she saw the statue she instantly froze. She recognised it and the shop was exactly like George described it. She decided to enter and look around.
The inside of the shop was simply beautiful, so full of colours and people and she was simply enchanted. She spotted a familiar tall ginger man and she made her way to him.
âGeorge?â she tapped his shoulder.
âWrong one, love. Iâm Fred.â he said turning around to greet her. She smiled at him as she instantly recognised him as Georgeâs twin brother.
âAnd you are?â he raised his eyebrows.
â(Y/n), Iâm (Y/n).â she reached out to him.
âOoohâ Fred said with a cheeky grin. â(Y/n)âs flawless flowers, right?â he squeezed her hand.
âOĂŹ, stop flirting with our costumers and come to h-â he froze. He was panicking when he saw her. And now what? What is he supposed to do? What is he supposed to say?
â(Y/n) hi, w-what are you doing here?â his palms were sweating so hard he hoped you wouldnât notice.
âYour shop is literally magical.â she ignored his questions as she giggled looking around Georgeâs shop. âMy grandmother is a witch, she owns a flower shop here in Diagon Alley, so here I am.â she said raising her hands.
âIâm sorry I didnât tell youâ he was really sorry because he really like her, he didnât know if he liked her as a friend or more but he sure enjoyed her company.
âOh itâs okay, I can imagine itâs not easy telling someone youâre a wizardâ her laugh was lovely.
âSo, can I have the honor of showing you around the store?â he asked her extending his arm which she gladly accepted.
âY/n guess what... Hermioneâs pregnant.â he said super excited.
âI told you!â she said jumping a little making George smile like a five years old.
George turned around to his brother who was looking at them smiling. Fred knew his brother and he knew that George fell for her, even before George himself knew that.
note: Iâm thinking of making this a mini series, divide it into three maybe four parts (reader meeting the Weasleys and maybe add some smut lol). Let me know if you liked it and if you want me to continue it.

Boss Dadâąïž
[Not edited]
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Summary: We love when you have an overprotective dad that just so happens to also be your boyfriendâs boss
Pairing: Hotch x son!reader, Spencer Reid x male!reader, Jemily
Requested by anon: âHi, I wanted to know if you could do a Dr. Reid x male reader, where the reader is Hotchâs son, and his father became kinda overprotective since his mother was killed (Idk if itâs right, my English is not that good)â
â Warningsâ Slight angst, Spence fluff, overprotective dad! Hotch, Spence comforts reader, bad writing, spoilers, I think thatâs all
a/n: this is my first x male reader, and I loved writing this, so thank you anon. Also, apologies if the spacing gets weird, I wrote this in my notes and just copied and pasted lol.Â
All of Y/Nâs life, heâs had certain...troubles in his relationships. Itâs not that he has any trouble finding partners, no, itâs more of my-dad-is-an-overprotective-profiler kind of problem. Ya see he loves his dad, thatâs the unquestionable thing. But his dad is, as mentioned before, very protective of his eldest son. Especially after what happened to Haley. He couldn't stand to lose another person he loved.
So he was always wary when Y/N brought someone home. Always ended in the same way. Theyâd get scared away by getting their secrets exposed and when they left heâd say something along the lines of, âI didnât like them.â with nothing else.
Now after a certain point, Y/N got tired of trying to reason with his dad. So he just gave up on dating. Until he met a certain Doctor Spencer Reid.
Spencer was a light in his life. The person he never knew heâd been dreaming of. Spencer filled in every empty feeling Y/N ever had. They were quite a pair.
Y/N was studying social sciences and psychology, so he had quite a bit on his plate, and Spencer was out on cases a lot. So the number of official dates they had was slim, but their love for each other wasnât any different. Hotch had only recently discovered their relationship. And boy was he not happy. He tried to not express it or take it out on YN, but Y/N knows Hotch better than anyone. He could tell it was eating at him, and he wasnât sure what to do.
âI should visit dad at the BAU. He didnât bring a lunch anyway so I might as well bring him something...plus I get to surprise Spence.â Y/N mumbled, smiling to himself at the thought. He had a couple of days off school, so he decided to spend them with Jack and his dad. âHe did mention today was a paperwork day, so I shouldn't have to worry about him being out of town.â He said to himself as he grabbed his keys.
One drive to the BAU later, Y/N gets out of his car and makes his way to the entrance. He goes in and pulls out his visitorâs pass that he received from his dad. The security team there knew him pretty well, he visited a lot when he had free days. âHeya Mark, how are the kids?â Y/N asked as he waited for his bag to be checked. âOh! Andrea got the lead in the schoolâs play, and she wanted me to thank you for helping her rehearse her lines. Micah is doing just fine, he enjoys soccer practice.â Y/N smiled as he grabbed his bag. âBe sure to tell me about any of Andreaâs performances or Micahâs games!â
âWill do!â
Y/N laughed as he walked towards the elevator. He presses the button for floor six and takes a breath as the elevator ascends. He finally reached the correct floor, and couldn't help but smile as he strolled towards the bullpen, where he immediately sighted Emily. âY/N! My favorite Hotchner! How have you been?â
âOh please Emily we all know that Jack is the favorite Hotchner.â Y/N chuckled and hugged her. âIâve been alright, but school is kicking my ass, as usual. How are you and JJ?â Emily smiles warmly at his question. âAmazing. We just finished unpacking the rest of JJâs boxes yesterday. Sheâs officially moved in!â
âIâm so happy for you guys! Anyway, is my dad in his office?â Emily glanced towards Hotchâs door. âYep! Where else would he be?â The two laughed together before Y/N said his goodbye and started his trek to his dad's office. He knocked on the door and opened it after hearing a small âcome inâ from the other side. Aaron looked up from the file he was working on to see who was at the door. âY/N? What're you doing here?â Y/N closed the door. âWell, I did come here to see you, but I also brought you the lunch you probably didn't realize you left.â Y/N walked over and put the food on Aaronâs desk. The door opened again, and this time, it was Spencer.
âHey Hotch, I had a question about- Y/N?â Spencer examined him in surprise, not anticipating him to be in his dadâs office. âHeya Spence.â Y/N grinned, walking to him and engulfing him in a hug. Hotch couldn't help but slightly grimace at the exchange. Y/N saw this, making him wither a bit. Spencer noticed. âUm- Spence- why don't you meet me in the break room and we can talk a bit over a cup of coffee, yeah?â Spencer pulled away from him, looked into his eyes, gave his hand a small squeeze, and walked out.
Y/N let out a sigh. âY/N. You know how I feel about this. You know how our work is- it's dangerous-â Y/N cut him off to finish the statement. â- because it can compel the unsubs to come after me to get to him. I know.â Y/N looked over at his dad. âWhich is exactly why-â
âNo, dad.â Aaron was taken aback. âIs that the only reason you donât like me being with Spencer? Dad, just me being your son puts me in danger. Being friends with the whole BAU team puts me at risk. No, thatâs not the real reason, because if that were the case, you wouldâve never shown me to the team at all.â Â Y/N stood his ground, holding in his pending tears as he tried to stay calm. âSpencer makes me feel safe. He takes care of me. The only reason you don't want us to be a thing is that you're scared that I'll leave and what happened to mom will repeat itself!â Y/N took a shaky breath in, storming out the door with tears running down his face. He knew he went too far, but right now all he needed was Spencer.
Y/N hurried his way to the break room to avoid being seen by anyone in the bullpen. Â Y/N strolled into the break room, where Spencer had just finished making them both coffee. Spencer looked over to him and his smile immediately turned into a look of worry. âY/N whatâs-â He was cut off by the strong hug that was given to him. He instantly returned the embrace, gently rubbing Y/Nâs back and giving him a forehead kiss as a form of comfort. Y/N eventually settled down and moved back from Spencer a bit. âCan we- you think you can afford to postpone your paperwork for a bit babe? I kinda just- Â I need to talk about this with you.â Spencer moved some hair out of Y/Nâs face. He pecked his lips and gently grabbed Y/Nâs hand. âOk, my love.â
-Meanwhile, in the office of big boss dad-
Hotch did not expect that to say the least. He knew Y/N would be upset, but he didn't think he would have lashed out as he did. When he watched Y/N slam the door on him, the weight of what was said hit him. Y/N thought he didnât trust him? Thought that he didnât want him to be happy? Thatâs the opposite of what he wanted. He wanted nothing but the best for his oldest son. He had to think to himself for a while. Was he doing the right thing? Or was he just trying to keep history from repeating itself?
âI was too hard on him...heâs a grown adult, he can make his own decisions.â Hotch thought out loud. He sighed.
He needed to talk with Y/N. Hotch walked out of his office, surprising everyone in the bullpen, as he rarely came out of his office on a paperwork day. He made his way to the break room and was about to say something when he heard Y/N talking.
âSpence I just- I don't know what to do. I don't know why he's so hesitant to let us be a thing I mean- I wouldn't be as upset if it were anyone else but- it's you. He knows you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me- especially after- especially after what happened to mom. I just- I don't want to lose you.â Hotch heard it all. He watched as Spencer easily calmed him down. He saw the love as the two looked at each other. He knew he was mistaken. He had to fix it.
    -6:30 pm, Hotchner household-
Aaron returns from work, take-out food in his hands. As soon as he sets the bags on the dinner table, Jack comes running. âDaddy!â Aaron smiles as he scoops up his son into his arms. Y/N walks towards the table and looks at his dad. âHey Jack, why don't you go play in your room for a few more minutes while Y/N and I set up the food ok?â Aaron set jack back down on the floor and ruffled his hair. âOk!â Jack ran upstairs, leaving Aaron and Y/N alone.
âY/N I-â âDad I-â They both started. Aaron sighed and made eye contact with Y/N. âListen, dad, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get so mad at you, and I know I went too far with what I said about mom. I know you have your reasons and-â âY/N. It's ok. Aaron cut him off, putting a hand on his shoulder. âI know that I've been hard on you when it comes to you dating- especially after Haley...but I realized this today. First of all, you're a grown man now. I should let you date who you want to. I trust you, and I know that you can take care of yourself. And another thing, I realized how good Spencer is for you. While I shouldn't have been spying on you two, I saw how comfortable and safe you felt with him. I saw love between the two of you. I would never wish to be the reason you are kept from your happiness. So, you have every right to stay with him.â
Y/N had tears in his eyes. âYou mean it?â He asked. âYes, completely.â Y/N got closer and tightly hugged his dad. âThank you...â He mumbled into his dadâs shirt.
They sat there for a bit, just comfortably embracing one another. âWho knew big scary boss dad could be so soft?â Y/N remarked, getting a laugh from both of them. âAnyway, let's get the food set up for real before Jack comes back.â
That night, Y/N texted Spencer, saying all was well.

Unlikely Lovers Chapter Two
It was been so much fun writing this series with @beccabarbaâ . Thank you for putting up with my bad grammar and horrible spelling mistakes just to be thirsty with me over this amazing man.
Master List
Warnings: Slightly cranky Nick, Smut: Male receiving.
WC:Â 2713
Enjoy x
Neither of you were back at work until Monday morning, and you made the most of not working the weekend. Not much sleep was had on Saturday night, as you explored each otherâs bodies, revelled in the sweet relief of finally acknowledging how you felt about each other. Nick eventually left your place on Sunday afternoon, with lingering kisses on the doorstep. Both of you were well aware that this wasnât just a friends-with-benefits hook up, although neither of you were quite ready to admit to any deeper emotions yet. But you ended up messaging most of the evening too.
All of which made seeing him on Monday morning, in the bullpen of the 16th precinct, where youâd seen him so many times before, seem very surreal. He was already there when you arrived, getting his typical early start. He was standing at his desk, in a burgundy shirt and dark suit pants, his thumbs hooked in his belt as he teased Amanda about her taste in movies.
âI canât help it if yâall are cowards,â Amanda was saying, as you approached. She leaned back in her chair and grinned at you. âMorning, Y/N, Nick was just telling me you couldnât make it through the movie.â She shook her head good naturedly. âCops who can deal with a crime scene but not a few zombiesâŠâ
You narrowed your eyes at her. âNext time, Iâll pick the movie,â you retorted, looking at her but refusing to meet Nickâs eyes. You didnât trust yourself to look at him, especially while your movie night was the topic of conversation.
âWhatâs it gonna be, Dirty Dancing or something?â Amanda smirked.
âMaybe. I havenât decided yet,â you retorted, going to sit at your desk. If Amanda had noticed that youâd not so much as greeted Nick, she didnât say anything.
After youâd checked your emails, you watched Amanda get up from her desk to make a call on her personal phone, rolling her eyes as she walked towards the exit. You glanced across at Nick, but he was reading a paper file on his desk and didnât look up. Probably just as well, since you had no idea how to talk to him in this setting, everything had changed. It was exciting, but it was unnerving too. A pang of nerves hit you in the gut: what if being around you at work made him change his mind? What if the reality of this was too much for him â or for you? What if he wasnât sure, and just looking for comfort? Heâd not dated much since his divorce, after all, and you were an unlikely pairing. Was that why he wasnât acknowledging you now?
To calm your nerves, and take the edge off your tiredness, you got up to make a cup of coffee. There was a fresh pot ready and waiting. You were just pouring it into your cup when you felt â with your detectiveâs instincts â someone close behind you. Just before you turned, you felt his hands slide onto your hips, his fingers slipping just under the waistband of your pants. He was very close behind you, but not quite touching.
âWant a coffee, Detective Amaro?â you said, hearing the edge of nerves in your voice.
He leaned forwards, so his quiet words were close to your ear. âI had an amazing time on Saturday night,â he said, his voice warm. All the tension in you melted away at his words, his touch. âWhatâre you doing after work?â
You put your coffee down and turned on the spot, finding yourself face to face with him, his eyes meeting yours, his desire for you very apparent. âI donât have any plansâŠâ you told him.
âWould you like some?â
You smirked, your face growing hot. âWhat kind of plans?â
His mouth twitched into a cheeky smile. âI know what sort of plans youâre thinking about,â he teased. âBut join me for a drink first? Maybe dinner?â
âLike a date?â you raised an eyebrow.
âYes, exactly like a date,â he nodded. He looked so handsome you just wanted to kiss him.
âAnd after the dateâŠ?â you asked.
âWe can do whatever it is thatâs currently going through your mind,â he winked and turned away before you could reply, heading back to his desk. He stood behind his chair, one hand on his hip, looking back at you. You shook your head, grabbed your coffee and started in his direction.
âAh good, Y/L/N, Amaro, youâre both here. I need you to go out to RikerâsâŠâ Liv walked through the bullpen, stopping near Nick.
You took a gulp of your coffee and put it on your desk. âSure thing, Sergeant,â you said, glancing at Nick. âWhat for?â
âBarba needs you to revisit the confession you got yesterday. Make sure the details still check out. He wants to take it to a Grand Jury, but heâs worried it sounds too good to be true, like he was coached by someone on the inside.â
Nick rolled his eyes. âSo Barba doesnât trust us?â
Liv looked at him, âhe just wants to make sure, Nick. Itâs not about trust.â Nick nodded, though he was still frowning.
âWeâll get going now,â you said. âCome on Nick, Iâll let you driveâŠâ You saw his face change when he realised he got to spend some time with you this morning, away from prying eyes. He grabbed his suit jacket from the back of his chair and slipped it on, following you towards the doors. You passed Amanda on her way back into the building.
âWhereâs the fire?â she demanded, looking at you.
âLiv wants us at Rikerâs,â you told her. âChecking the confession.â
Amanda rolled her eyes. âBarbaâs being thorough on this one? I suppose itâs fair enough.â She paused. âHey, are you guys free tonight? My family have finally decided to leave me be â we could catch up since we missed Saturday. Get a beer or something?â
âOh, erâŠâ you managed.
âAfraid I canât. Iâve said Iâll go see my mom,â Nick said. Amanda turned to you.
âIâm really sorry,â you added, thinking quickly, âcan we make plans for later in the week? I said Iâd helped my cousin with his biology homework tonight, I canât let him down.â
Amanda looked from you to Nick and shook her head. âSure, guys, just me and my horror movies, I guess. I forget you both have families you actually want to see⊠See ya when you get back from Rikerâs.â She turned and disappeared into the bullpen, as you and Nick hurried to the elevator.
It was usually only a half hourâs drive to Rikerâs, but Nick took the Williamsburg Bridge and you hit traffic near Greenpoint that added another thirty minutes to the journey. By the time you arrived, Nickâs jaw had set impatiently. What had been flirty conversation for the first part of the journey had become professional preparations for your visit to Rikerâs and then a settled silence as you reached the island. Visits to Rikerâs always felt bleak; even hardened detectives werenât immune to disgust at the conditions of the inmates there, many of them for minor crimes, or remanded awaiting trial.
As luck would have it, you were kept waiting, for reasons the corrections officers didnât really explain. Nick, already frustrated, only got even more wound up, pacing the floor of the small room you were given to wait in. You already knew well enough that it was better to just leave him be when he was like this, so you sipped a Coke from the vending machine and just watched him walk back and forth, unable to help running your eyes up and down his form, enjoying just how well his clothes fit around that body you now knew intimately.
When you finally got to interview your suspect, he was resentful and much less in the mood for talking than he had been the day before. You let Nick take the lead; interrogation being one of his specialist skills, and one youâd had much less experience in during your time working Cold Case. Even without your attraction to him, you had a lot of admiration for Nick as a detective, one of the most intuitive and hardworking youâd ever met. His gut was usually right; today was no different and he found the holes in the supposed confession that couldâve made Barbaâs whole case come tumbling down.
You were just ready to leave when deafening alarms sounded and two corrections officers hurried into the secure interview room. One grabbed your suspect and hauled him off towards the depths of the jail, the other came to talk to you and Nick, a sense of urgency in his words. âWeâre going into lockdown, can I ask you both to come with me? Iâm afraid you canât leave the island until weâve resolved the issue.â
âYouâve got to be kidding,â Nick protested.
âAfraid not, Detective,â the officer said, showing you into the small waiting room youâd been in before. Nick signed and slumped into a plastic chair, taking out his phone to call Liv with an update. You could see how tense his shoulders were, his brow settled into a frown as his call ended. You were frustrated too, but more because you were worried this would lessen his enthusiasm for tonightâs date. You did manage to lure him into conversation, as the time ticked by, but he would keep pacing the room, not happy with the enforced captivity.
Several hours later, it was already dusk as you finally got back in the car, heading back towards Manhattan, Nick muttering something about taking the Robert F Kennedy Bridge and the FDR as you set off. Although he was glad to be leaving, Nick was clearly still on edge. You watched him, driving, looking at his hands on the wheel, remembering what those fingers felt like on your body. Eventually he glanced over at you.
âWhatâre you looking at?â he said, a tiny smile curling his lips.
âYou,â you replied.
âWhy?â he asked âSee something you like?â
âI think you know the answer to thatâ you purred reaching over resting your hand on his thigh.
Nick looked over at you for a moment taking his eyes off the road. He reached down grabbing your hand bringing it to his lips kissing the back of it and then moving to thread his fingers into yours, bringing both your hands down to rest on his thigh.
âI do knowâ he smirked. The car fell silent, the music filling the inside and you both looking out the window at the darkening sky and bright moon. Nick broke the silence first âSorry about tonight, I was hoping we would have been back in the city way before now. I was looking forward to taking you out,â Nick sighed giving your hand a squeeze.
âItâs ok,â you squeezed his hand back. âBut the night isnât completely lostâ you grinned âAround the next bend pull over.â
You saw the big grin pull to Nickâs face and he licked his lips. Nick drove around the bend and signaled to pull over on a small dirt clearing. He let go of your hand throwing the car into park, turning off the engine, and you both unclipped your seatbelts. Nick adjusted himself in his seat spreading his legs wider. You moved in your seat onto your side to face him, your hand resting back on his thigh running it up to his crotch.
Nickâs breathing hitched and he hooked his arm around your neck pulling you into him is lips landing on yours, his tongue slipping into your mouth twisting with yours. You swallowed his groans as your hand came up to cup him through his slacks, his cock instantly hardening at your touch.
Nick pulled back from your kiss and started to kiss along your jaw, down your neck in big wet open mouth kisses, nipping and sucking ever so lightly as he made quick work of undoing a couple of your shirt buttons, your red lace bra on full display. You reached up with both hands undoing Nickâs belt buckle, pants buttons and zipper sliding your hand down into his boxers and your hand wrapped around his long thick cock, pulling it out, his pre-cum covered tip glistening in the moonlight.
You turned your head, your lips ghosting his, Nickâs hot breath fanning your face and his right hand ran around to run up and down your back,
âI told you the night wasnât completely lost,â you ran your lips against his while your hand lazily jerked him off.
âYouâre such a good girl for me. You know how to make things better,â Nick said through hooded eyes, proving heâd remembered how you enjoyed his praise. You felt a hot throb of pleasure.
âTell me why you were frustrated today Nick,â you purred into his lips as you twisted your wrist, making your way back up from his base.
âI told you,â he moaned bucking his hips up into your hand âI wanted to take you out.â
âAnd?â
âAnd-â Nick groaned loud, his head falling back into the seat, biting his bottom lip. âI have wanted you so bad all dayâ
âIs that so?â Nick nodded, his eyes closing and his mouth going slack. âI have wanted this amazing cock in my mouth all day.â
You pecked Nickâs lips, nipping his bottom lip before leaning down to take his tip into your mouth, your tongue flat, licking around him and taking him fully into your mouth relaxing your throat to take him as deep as you could and then making your way back up to his tip again. He reached over with one hand, pulling out your hair tie letting your hair flow down over your back and shoulders.
Nick rested his hand in the hair on the back of your head, threading his fingers into it, guiding your head up and down on him with no pressure, while his other hand worked its way down your shirt. His big warm hand running along your skin and slipping into your bra, massaging your flesh and toying with your nipple between his fingers,
âY/N, you take my cock so well- thatâs it, baby, just like that,â Nick moaned and groaned, his mouth open and eyes closed.
Nick started to roll his hips up into your mouth when he hit the back of your throat, his hand balling into a fist in your hair and he squeezed your tit, when you reached up cradling his balls, squeezing him lightly. You could feel your panties damping, your body on fire from Nick groping you and the feel of his cock on your tongue.
Nick pulled his hand out of your bra, both his hands going to the back of your head pushing you down on him, his thick curled hair tickling your nose while the car windows completely fogged up from his heavy breathing. Nick guided your head back up to his tip and then pushed you back down, your name, god and Spanish you didnât understand spilling from his mouth, when his hot salty cum filled your mouth, running down your throat. You sucked him clean and pulled off him with a pop, using your pointer finger to wipe the corner of your mouth dry before sucking the tip of your finger.
You heard a growl rattle through Nickâs chest as he watched you and you gave him a wink. Nickâs hand went to the back of your neck pulling you down to him, pulling your lips onto his, the kiss deepening straight away and Nick groaned into your mouth when he tasted himself on your tongue. You broke the kiss and Nick tucked your hair behind your ear, his thumb brushing over your cheek,
âLetâs go back to mine so I can get a change of clothes and then Iâll take you home.â
âYouâre inviting yourself for a sleep over?â you raised an eyebrow at him with a grin and he chuckled back at you.
âI donât know how much sleeping we will be doing, but I can promise you baby, I will return the favour, hopefully more than once.â

TWO
SUMMARY: You, at such young age made your way in business becoming a successful one. With that a lot of jealousy and rivalry came. Your mother finally convinces you to hire a team of security just in case someone tried to hurt you. And thatâs when Donghyuck becomes your personal bodyguard, following you everywhere you go. You donât mind at all since you find him very entertaining and nice. What you donât know is that heâs the one that has been hired to keep you close and kill you.
PAIRING: reader x bodyguard!donghyuck

7 am. Wake up, take a shower, have breakfast and rush to the office. That was your daily routine and you were used to it. But no that morning. You were getting ready to go to your interview with the TIME Magazine. They were working on an article that would be called âWomen Under 30 Are Leading the Pack in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.â
4 years ago, youâd wake up around 9, get ready to go to class and have lunch with your friends, but how does time change, right? Now you were a CEO of your own company with no time for your friends or even yourself. Itâs not like you hated it, you liked being a CEO and being recognised by your hard work. It made you proud and wanted to show people that if you really want something and if you work hard for it, youâll get it.
At the main entrance, you were greeted by the staff and one of them guided you to the room where they interviewed you and took some pictures of you.
That wasnât your first interview, but you couldnât feel nervous because you wanted to say the right words to encourage other people.
...
âLia, I will be back in ten minutes. Can you sort this papers out on my desk?â
âOkay, Boss.â
It was a beautiful sunny day and the office was busy as usual. You were reading the contract at the table trying to get some order into them when the door opened. Nobody just walked into your office without knocking, so of course it had to beâŠ
âHi mom...â you greeted her.
âHi sweetheart,â she smirked at you. âHow are you?â
âIâm great,â you nodded and placed the papers on the table, âwhat brings you here, mom?â
âI canât visit my beautiful daughter?â She put her right hand on her chest.
You giggled. âOf course you can, but Iâd love you to call me first.â
You stood and walked towards her, hugging her. âYou want some coffee? Water?â
âIâm fine, darling. I just had brunch with a friend,â she smiled and sat in one of the chairs in front of your desk. âSpeaking of which, she told me something that got me really upset at you.â
âWhy?â You frowned and sat in front of her.
âWhy didnât you tell me youâre getting death threats, (Y/N)?â She looked at you.
You sighed. âBecause they donât matter. You know I donât pay attention to that. Itâs pointless.â
âWeâre not talking about hate comments, (Y/N). Someone is threatening you with killing you.â
âMom, you donât have to w-â
âOf course I can, and I will. Thatâs why I contacted an old friend who used to be the Prime Ministerâs bodyguard. Heâs gonna meet you tomorrow,â she informed you.
âTomorrow I canât, I have a meeting.â
âThen you better make some space or youâll be seeing me here everyday,â your mom smiled. âThis is serious. I donât want anything bad to happen to you. Youâre my baby.â
âI can take care of myself, mom. Please, I donât want a full team of bodyguards,â you sighed.
âYou will only have 2 and you wonât even notice theyâre there,â she said and placed a hand on yours. âPlease.â
You stared at her for a couple of seconds and then sighed, nodding. âOkay, fine. But itâs temporary.â
âWeâll see about that.â
Later that day, after going home you went to the supermarket to get some groceries and went home. You loved cooking, but you werenât exactly the tidiest when it came to prepare your delicious meals.
After you ate, you checked your email and realised that your momâs friend had sent you a file with the two people that would be working with you. Somehow you expected an army of people and that annoyed you, but you thought you could with two people. You didnât even bother to check the profiles since you knew what their work would be.
You closed your laptop and went to your bedroom. Sometimes you thought your life was boring because you barely talked to someone else. Your last relationship didnât end well and you were still a little bit hesitant to know someone else. Or scared.
And friends? You didnât have many, but Lena, Taeyong and Jaemin were always there for you. And so were you.
You knew Lena since you were a toddler, your mother was good friends with her parents and you two got along very well. You met Taeyong in high school when you were trying to find the science room and since he was a senior, he helped you. Everyone used to think Taeyong and you dated, but in fact, you never loved Taeyong that way. You saw him as your older brother and he as his younger sister. And last but not least, you met Jaemin through Taeyong.
At first both of you didnât get along well since he was all an extrovert and didnât quite understand you were a little introverted, but he with time understood and stopped forcing you. Then you became the crackheads of the group, always laughing and going out and sometimes getting drunk.
You loved college days.
And love? You met Jaehyun during your first year of college, he was in your economics class and you couldnât help yourself falling for him. He was charming, funny and so handsome.
Jaehyun was your first everything: your first love, your first boyfriend, your first kiss and the first guy that broke your heart.
You two dated for almost 2 years, but ended when he told you he didnât love you anymore and didnât want to hurt you and left.
Months after that, you took the opportunity to go as an exchange student to Japan where you met Yuta. You were never a thing, but both of you had feelings for each other but never went official since you would stay there only for 6 months.
You came back to Korea and graduated, and had no time for love since you were too busy starting your business. But Yuta would come on business trips to Korea sometimes and meet you.
But the last time you saw him was a year ago.
The next morning, a tall man showed up to your office holding a black folder. Everything about him was intimidating and you knew he was your momâs friend.
âGood morning, Miss (Y/L/N). Iâm Kim Hyunwoo,â he extended his hand.
âHi,â you greeted and you shook hands with him. âYeah, Iâve heard about you. Please sit.â
âThanks,â he said and sat in one of the black chairs in front of your desk. âI sent you an email yesterday, did you read it?â
âI saw it, but didnât read it. Sorry,â you apologised.
âItâs okay, that's why I brought this,â he placed the black folder on the desk and tossed it to you. âThese are the files of the people that will be working with you.â
âWhy is it important to check them out? I mean, theyâll be around me 24/7.â
âBecause I want you to know their abilities and their tasks.â
You sighed and grabbed the folder opening it. You saw the first man around his 30âs, no emotions showed in his face. Kang Sungho. According to his file he was specialised in driving and trained in evasive driving techniques, such as executing short-radius turns to change the direction of the vehicle, high-speed cornering, and so on.
You passed the next page and saw a picture of a man with tanned golden skin, brown hair and dark eyes. He looked intimidating. He was trained in pretty much everything, from every type of knife to every type of gun.
Impressive.
Suddenly, the door from your office opened and the air left your lungs momentarily when his eyes met yours, dark and calculating. You expected him to offer you a polite smile as most people do, but his face remained in a stern mask. You somehow prayed he wouldnât be your bodyguard because the less thing you needed was a distraction.
âMiss (Y/L/N),â the voice of your Hyunwoo forced you to switch your gaze to him and you shoot him a questioning look. âThis is Lee Donghyuckâ the boy nodded slightly in your direction at the mention of his name, âheâs your new personal bodyguard.â
You couldn't help but let your eyebrows raise comically. The world somehow hated you.
âYou would not even know Iâm here, Miss,â Donghyuck said.
You nodded.
*
Donghyuck awoke to the steady patter of rain upon his window, droplets yet to scatter the nascent rays of the rising sun. He realised he had awoken up ten minutes before his set alarm, which made him grumble.
He got out of bed and walked to the bathroom, took a cold shower and after that, Donghyuck put on a black pants and before putting the white shirt, he put on a bulletproof vest making him look thicker and then continued with a white interior t-shirt, a white shirt, put on his tie adjusting it and lastly, he slipped on the black jacket.
Donghyuck gave himself a quick look in the mirror and sighed. He placed his hands on the countertop and asked how did he end in that position?
Yes, he was an assassin.
No, he didn't kill women.
But the money he was offered to do so was such a big amount that was almost repulsive. And he needed the money.
Donghyuck had never pretended to be someone else before, he just showed up and took down his task and then left. Now he was stuck with some random woman and follow her until she was in love with him and kill her in the worst way.
What was with people these days? He didn't want to know.
Jeno was already awake and had made breakfast, âyou gotta eat well today in case you die protecting your boss,â he  joked and sat down in front of him.
Donghyuck and Jeno had known each other for many years and were roommates. There was kindness in his smile, a good man. He knew what âHaechanâ did for a living, but decided to ignore it since he rather thought his friend was also a good man.
Donghyuck rolled his eyes. âI cant believe I'm doing this.â
âYou can't still say no, you know?â Jeno looked at him.
âI know, but I need the money,â Donghyuck said and had a sip of coffee, âI will retire after this.â
âReally?â
âYeah. I don't wanna do this anymore,â Donghyuck shrugged.
âWell, then get the job done and get those millions,â Jeno said and then shook his head, âthat sounded awful. Ignore it.â
Donghyuck laughed. âAre you sure you don't wanna work with me?â
âOne hundred percent.â
âŠ
A perfectly collected black-haired woman, dressed in a skirt under her white knee and a pale pink blouse appeared in the room. "Good morning, you must be Lee Donghyuck, right?" She asked kindly.
"Yes," Donghyuck replied, "Hello, you are....?"
"I'm Yun Somin, Kim Hyunwoo personal assistant," she smiled nicely. âYouâre the new bodyguard we hired a few days ago.â
"Nice to meet you,â Donghyuck expressed.
âPlease, come with me so I can give you  your equipment,â Somin said.
Donghyuck followed her to a room that was an office painted beige and champagne, and it had only one wall-sized window, which faced the buildings. On the dark brown desk sat a desktop computer, a notebook lying open, and a stack of papers sitting under a turtle-shaped paperweight and there was a swivel chair in the middle of the office. A bookshelf, bursting with books was behind the dark brown desk.
Somin opened a desk drawer and pulled out a black box that contained a small stainless steel knife, a Beretta Px4 Storm and finally a earphone for a walkie-talkie.
Donghyuck put the earphone on his ear and the walkie-talkie on the waist band. He put the gun away by placing it on the waist band as well and the knife inside the inner jacket pocket.
â(Y/N) (Y/L/N)âs codename is Sunflower. Whenever youâre public, thatâs the name youâll use,â Somin informed.
Donghyuck nodded, âSunflower. Got it.â
Somin opened the door for him and let him in. You were if anything was better looking than Donghyuck expected. Your face told of a leaned body beneath your wintry garb and your expression was serious but not unkind.
You were hot.
Fuck. Donghyuck thought. He was so screwed.
âYou would not even know Iâm here, Miss,â Donghyuck said.
You nodded and cleared your throat. Â âWell, let's keep going. We have a long day coming,âYou said, walking to the door.
Donghyuck walked behind you and raised his arm above his mouth and spoke into the mic, âSunflower's going out.â
âŠ
You were the smile, or at least that was what Donghyuck thought of you. Everything about you was a soft and understated joy as you greeted each person at every event. You really cared about the people and their interest and could see in your eyes your uprightness. People loved you and Donghyuck didn't quite understand why someone wanted you dead. Your kindness couldnt be the reason, could it?
âSo, Donghyuck, what do you think?â
He turned back to Sungho. âShe's different from every shark out there. Yeah, Iâll bet theyâre lining up to off her.â
âWell, someoneâs been sending some pretty disturbing emails. The NIS canât pin the guy down.â
âTheyâll find them.â Donghyuck addressed.
The eventful day was over. You all spent the day going to different meetings with several people. You were exhausted but you were happy to see your friend Taeyong, after not seeing him for almost two months.
The black car stopped at a red light and you took the opportunity to take out your phone and reply to some text messages. You realised Donghyuck was looking at you and Donghyuck quickly looked straight ahead. âSo, Donghyuck? You have been doing this for so long?â
âNot really, maâam,â he responded.
You considered him. He didnât look like his concept of a bodyguard, big and beefy. He wasn't that tall. Slimy built, with a very attractive face, enigmatic yet intelligent dark eyes and dark hair. âAnd what did you do before?â
âI⊠used to train some people at a boxing gym,â Donghycuk lied.
âCool,â you smiled. âMaybe you could show me some movements.â
You quickly regretted saying that because of how red your cheeks got. Donghyuck smirked without looking at you.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Donghyuck got out of the car and opened the door for you and you entered the restaurant with him following you.
"Sunflower's in," He spoke into the mic.
A young woman, with loose hair dressed all in black, took you to the restaurant's private lounge, where Taeyong was already waiting for you.
You hugged your friend and smiled, "The Bahamas suited you."
"Thank you, Woman-Under-30-Leading-the-Pack-in-Entrepreneurship-and-Innovation" Taeyong beamed and looked at Donghyuck, who stood with his back to you right at the glass door, "who is he?"
You looked at Donghyuck  and spoke as you sat down, "It's my personal bodyguard."
âWhy do you have a personal bodyguard? Did something happen? â He asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, everythingâs fine," you calmed him down and grabbed the menu, opening it.
He sat in front of you and still looked worried, âhow do you want me to be calm? Something is going on and you don't want to tell me. "
You smirked a little and shook your head, "really, Taeyong, everything is under control. Thereâs nothing to be concerned about.â
Taeyong sighed and nodded, "Okay, I will believe in your words."
You smiled satisfied and began to read the menu. Taeyong did the same. Jaemin stood in front of the door of the restaurant's private lounge but Donghyuck prevented him from entering.
"Identify," Donghyuck demanded, looking at him.
"Na Jaemin, owner and chef of this restaurant," he replied, frowning, "who are you?"
Before Donghyuck responded, you opened the door and looked at Jaemin, âI'm sorry, he's my new bodyguard. Lee Donghyuck, all right, he will have dinner with us too. "
Donghyuck nodded, âunderstood. Enjoy your meal, guys. "
âThank you,â Taeyong  responded as Donghyuck closed the door.
âI can't believe the two most influential people of Korea are here in my restaurant,â Jaemin joked as he sat.
You chuckled, âletâs see if itâs as good as people say.â
âŠ
Softly splashing water droplets hit the car windows as Sungho drove onwards. You watched the raindrops race down to the windows. You had been with Taeyong and Jaemin for almost three hours, and now you were on your way to your house.
"Sorry for staying there for a long time, you haven't even eaten," you  apologised.
âItâs fine, maâam. It's our job,â Donghyuck replied.
âYou can call me (Y/N). Weâre almost the same age,â You said
âEven so, youâre my boss. Itâs not right,â he responded.
You chuckled and looked at him in the rearview mirror, "Well, then as your boss, I order it to you."
Donghyuck smiled and you noticed it, âI'll try it.â

Sorry for Not Winning You an Arcade Ring | JoaquĂn Torres
⊠pairing â JoaquĂn Torres x female!Barnes!Plus Size Reader
⊠word count â 8.7k (should I even apologize at this point?)
⊠summary â your ex-boyfriend comes back into your life the moment you finally meet your dad â although things are complicated, your feelings are intact.
⊠request â Could I please ask for a story where reader is Buckyâs daughter and she used to date Joaquin but they broke up and then when she meets Bucky they get back together? Angst and drama and fluff and something steamy but no smut please?
⊠warnings â angst, drama, mentions of food and beverages, mentions of violence, language, depiction of symptoms of mental illnesses and light depiction of abandonment issues, daddy issues, fluff.
⊠author's note â coney island (the song) doesnât have much to do with the fic, but I couldnât take that line out of my head and thought it was fitting. Next JoaquĂn fic will be the one where reader used to date Peter, I promise.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
JoaquĂn swallowed with difficulty. His saliva had become unbearably thick in seconds. As he stood in front of the building, the building that now looked taller than it really was, he felt an itch in his neck.
Sam gripped Buckyâs nape, encouraging him to lead the way inside the building. Bucky was as frozen as JoaquĂn.
The older man was speechless. JoaquĂn, however, was not. âAre you sure this is the right building?â he rasped the question directed to Sam.
âOne hundred percent.â
JoaquĂn nodded. The world was small, and he didnât want to find out just truly how smaller it could get. âIâll wait here.â
Bucky shook his head. JoaquĂnâs stomach dropped. He wanted to be there for Bucky, Sam had told him how important this was for him â when he agreed, JoaquĂn didnât know he would come back to this place by supporting Bucky.
Connecting dots had never been hard, much less now that it was part of his job, yet he wanted to be mistaken.
âLetâs get this over with, boys.â Sam patted JoaquĂnâs shoulder. His other hand was still on Buckyâs nape, and by the looks of his grip, he wouldnât let go.
JoaquĂn knew exactly what Sam was doing and he wished he had somebody to stabilize him too. âIâll lead the way,â he mumbled.
âI have to talk to theââ
âThereâs no need,â JoaquĂn interrupted.
Pushing the main door open, he nodded down at the security guard. Still the same old guy. The man smiled, nodding upward as though asking if Sam and Bucky were with him.
âTheyâre cool,â he assured the guard.
âItâs good to see you,â the guard told him, still smiling.
âYou too.â
JoaquĂn slanted his head, motioning for Bucky and Sam to follow him. He walked past the elevator, explaining, âThe elevator is always broken.â
Sam frowned. âWeâll take the stairs, then.â
Their steps, silent yet heavy, carried nerves and apprehension. JoaquĂn didnât know how to explain himself or he should even try to do it, Bucky was scared of being rejected, and Sam knew Bucky wouldnât recover quickly from this.
JoaquĂn leaned over to look at the paper in Samâs hand. The number scribbled on it confirmed his suspicions.
âIââ God, he couldnât back down now. âWho will do the talking?â
âI will,â Bucky said in a quiet voice. âI just need you two there.â
âYeah, man, no problem.â JoaquĂn was thankful his voice didnât crack.
Bucky lifted his fist, yet his knuckles didnât touch the door. Not yet. JoaquĂn felt cruel for wishing Bucky would take longer.
The knocking wasnât desperate as JoaquĂn had anticipated. Perhaps Bucky wanted to make a good impression, or perhaps he was wishing nobody would answer the door.
The door opened and JoaquĂn found himself frozen. Stuck between running away and pulling you into the tightest hug you had ever received.
The euphoria of seeing you again was overwhelming and bittersweet. You looked good. You had always looked good in his eyes.
You were speechless. He wasnât sure if it was because of him or because of Bucky.
Sam said a soft hi to fill the air, only making it worse for Bucky and unbeknownst to him, for JoaquĂn.
You stared at him, trying your hardest to smile although the muscles in your face didnât give in. Eyes moving to Bucky, you found yourself rudely staring.
He did the same. Nobody said anything for a while. Three pairs of eyes were on you, and your brain couldnât seem to function.
You had looked for him for years, in different countries, finding rejection in every corner of every big and small city alike.
Your gaze deviated to the other side where JoaquĂn was standing. You picked on Samâs shift, sandwiched between the other two men.
JoaquĂn tried to hold your gaze, but you looked away.
âUh...â you trailed off, eyes jumping from Bucky to Sam. They stopped for a moment before deviating again towards JoaquĂn. âCome in.â
There werenât any pictures left in the living room, instead you had filled the spaces with ceramics and trinkets.
You had the same colorful couch JoaquĂn once spilled coffee on, and the same cozy chairs you had bought online by mistake.
âI should have introduced myself...â Sam trailed off.
âI know who you are,â you assured him. âNat talked a lot about you.â
âYou met Nat?â
âShe came looking for me no longer after people disappeared. Maybe two months.â
You motioned for them to sit. Bucky and Sam did so on the same couch whereas JoaquĂn walked towards a chair. Your cat jumped onto the chair before he could take a seat.
The cat looked up at him and meowed.
âFatatita,â you chastised the cat. âLet him sit down.â
Before you could approach the couch to pick the cat up, JoaquĂn lifted her in his arms. He sat down and placed her on his lap.
The cat curled up there, spiting you.
You sat on the other chair, closer to Bucky and Sam.
âDo you know who I am?â Bucky asked. So timidly you barely heard him.
You nodded.
âWhat else do you know?â
âNot much. Youâ youâre my dad and nobody knows who my mom is.â
Bucky looked down. âIâm assuming Natasha told you.â
âNo.â You made a face, remembering that day like it was yesterday. âSomebody sent me an uncensored file. They probably wanted me to track The Winter Soldier down and make their job easier.â
âBut you didnât.â
You couldnât tell if he was offended or relieved. âI actually did. I poured a lot of money into it and it never paid off. I lost track of you after Siberia.â
JoaquĂn squirmed around on the chair at the mention of Siberia.
Siberia practically ruined your life. Picking yourself up had not only been hard but something you hadnât even been sure you wanted to do. Things had lost meaning. The only reason you were still here was your stubbornness.
Sam curiously asked, âWere you trained or something?â
âNot thoroughly. Iâve always been fat so I was useless in their eyes.â
Bucky sighed. âSounds like them.â
You didnât expect anything else from a terrorist organization.
âOh! I didnât offer you anything to drink...â
âIâm good,â Sam and Bucky answered at the same time.
You hesitated before turning to the other side. JoaquĂn barely shook his head. His fingers were buried in Fatatitaâs fur as the cat laid on his lap with her eyes lidded closed.
âSo... to what do I owe the visit?â
Bucky cleared his throat. âWell, I wanted to meet you.â
Your breath got caught in your throat. You had assumed he needed something from you. Knowing he wanted to meet you made your decade-long sacrifice and the heartbreak almost worth it.
âI was saving up for a trip to Brooklyn. I heard you were around there.â
âYeah. Itâs home again.â The glance he gave Sam didnât go unnoticed by you.
You wondered if youâd be in the same situation they were if things had been different.
Home was a foreign concept to you. The word didnât even feel real no matter how many times you said it in your head.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Outdoor cafes werenât really your style. However, you could admit the place Bucky and Sam had taken you was nice.
You took his offer to visit him and Sam for a week. Working from home was a pain in the ass sometimes in terms of organization, but it had given you the ability to look for him from the beginning.
The square table shook as Bucky placed his metal hand on it. âWould you stop texting?â He chastised Sam who was sat in front of you.
âItâs something urgent. I wouldnât be interrupting family bonding time if it wasnât, you know that.â
Samâs comment was the end of it. Bucky reclined back onto the chair and gave you a small smile.
Oh, so Sam truly meant the family part. Family â a magical word that evoked foreign sensations in the pit of your stomach.
Samâs cellphone started ringing. âIâll be back in a couple minutes,â he announced as he declined the call.
Both Bucky and you followed Sam with your gazes. Your stomach flipped as Sam greeted JoaquĂn.
Sam smiled. âYou got it so quickly?â
JoaquĂn nodded as he tried his best to not look your way. Sam took the envelope from JoaquĂnâs grasp.
He could hear your laugh as though you were giggling in his ear like you used to and the temptation was too much for him to handle. He was only human.
Bucky was laughing too, seemingly at something you had said. JoaquĂn didnât blame him, it was easy to like you, to laugh with you, to regret every second not spent with you.
âOkay,â Sam sighed. âI didnât want to ask, but I canât bite my tongue any longer... whatâs up with that face and those eyes youâre giving (Name)? You did the sameââ He groaned. âDonât tell me...â
âI wonât tell you,â JoaquĂn tried to joke.
âShit, man. What happened?â
âHonestly? Iâm not sure.â
âMmmh. Why donât you join us?â
âI donât think thatâs a good idea...â
âPlease? I need you for this.â Sam waved the envelope. âBut I promised Iâd have coffee with them. She just got here.â
JoaquĂn hesitated to answer. On one hand, he knew Sam would need his help; on the other, he didnât want to ruin whatever you had going with your dad.
âCome on,â Sam insisted. âBucky is paying.â
Your eyes were on them as they approached the table. Sam once again took the seat in front of you, leaving JoaquĂn to seat practically next to you.
You wanted to flip the table and scream yet you remained in your seat, neutral and borderline frozen.
Sam leaned over to say something to Bucky. They were close enough for you to hear, but your ear didnât pick it up.
You stood up from the table, surprising yourself more than you surprised the three men accompanying you. âIâll place our order,â you announced.
The place was pretty in its simplicity, only decorated with coffee and pastry themed artwork. Functionality had been a priority and by how busy the place was, you could only presume they had succeeded.
There was a couple all over each other next to the window and a group of friends doing homework three tables from them. Laptops could be seen everywhere, just like people checking their phones.
You had to wait in line to place the order and the line was already building behind you too. The couple all over each other didnât even seem to realize somebody was staring at them and if they did, they couldnât care less.
You took a glance outside where Bucky was chatting with JoaquĂn while Sam made a phone call.
Sam slipped his phone into his pocket. âI didnât give her my order... do any of you want to add anything?â
âI gave it to her,â Bucky assured him. âWe thought you would take longer.â
JoaquĂn feigned interest in his phone. He had already read all of his messages, but he wanted to avoid the comment building in Samâs mind. He could only hope his friend will keep it to himself.
He felt your presence as you sat back down. âThere are two orders above ours. They will bring it to us.â
âDid you ask for extra milk?â Bucky asked.
âYes.â
âThank you. My acid reflux has been giving me trouble.â
âBecause you eat too quickly,â Sam chimed in.â
You lifted both eyebrows. âYou could have ordered tea.â
âAbsolutely not.â
You snickered. JoaquĂn snorted. Instinctively, the two of you turned to the side to look at each other.
Something flashed in his eyes, the same you fell for that hazy summer. They were still warm, albeit tired now. As they became glossy while he held your gaze, you wondered if yours looked the same. You wondered if he had something to say and hoped he wouldnât find the courage. You knew you wouldnât be able to take it.
The order arrived, shattering the moment.
âThank you,â JoaquĂn said, staring at you.
âNo problem,â you rasped. Fuck.
âWeâre hoping to convince her to move closer to us,â Bucky said, not subtle at all, as he took a sip of his beverage.
JoaquĂn followed the circumference of the mug with his finger in clockwork motion. âGood luck.â
âThank you. I want to make up for lost time and the distance makes it difficult.â
âVideocalls are quite effective,â you reminded him.
JoaquĂn winced. His finger slipped into the beverage.
Bucky tilted his head. âAre you okay?â
âItâs hot.â
âWell, itâs coffee,â Sam stated the obvious.
You couldnât take JoaquĂnâs reaction off your mind. Not even on the way to Samâs and Buckyâs place.
Sam said heâd be home by dinner time. He also warned you to not let Bucky cook. You couldnât even bring yourself to laugh.
The guest room was practically the same as the one in your apartment. Same size, and a close enough layout.
Bucky had a proper look at your luggage. âIâm surprised you didnât bring more clothes.â
You frowned. âWhy?â
âI donât know. Your apartment is so well-decorated that I assumed things.â
If only he knew how hard it had been to replace the remains of JoaquĂn... âI did it at random, just trying to fill empty spaces.â You lightly changed the subject, âI like your couch, by the way.â
âSam hated it at first, but he has grown fond of it.â
You faked a chuckle, prompting your cat to lift her head. Sprawled on the bed, she stared at you.
âComfy, Fatatita?â You reached over to scratch her head.
âHow did you come up with her name?â
âCount Von Countâs cat is named Fatatita. Itâs an homage.â
âCount Von Count?â
âFrom Sesame Street. Heâs a vampire obsessed with numbers and heâs also a Count.â
You sat on the bed, pulling Fatatita onto your lap.
Bucky sat on the edge, twisted so he could look at you. âSooooooo...â
âSo...â
âWhere do you know Torres from? You had a weird moment there.â
You hummed, entertaining yourself with combing your catâs fur.
Bucky didnât let it go. âNow that I think about it, you knew his coffee order without asking...â
âIntuition.â
âDoes your cat have intuition too?â
âProbably. Theyâre curious creatures.â
âYou can tell me anything, (Name).â
âThatâs the thing, thereâs nothing to say,â you admitted. âWhatever youâre assuming is pretty much what happened.â
âI will kill him for cheating.â
âWhat?!â Seeing him cross his arms with a faint smirk on his face, you added, âYou know what? Do it. Youâre not making me talk.â
He let out a hybrid between a whine and a sigh. âI thought that one would work.â
âIf you must know, the breakup was shitty.â
âTouchy subject, got it.â
Touchy would never cut it and you couldnât understand why. âDo you remember any of your breakups?â
âFrom when I was a teen, yeah. But I donât think they were bad.â
âOh, so you were the one who ended the relationships.â
After a short silence, he admitted, âYeah.â
Your body shook with laughter. âAt least youâre honest.â
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
After an hour and a half of working on your computer, you decided to stretch and fix yourself a cup of coffee or tea. 9:00 AM was the perfect time to drink something other than water.
The door to the bathroom closed as you opened the guest room. The living room was empty, just like the kitchen.
Such a thing didnât last. Somebody called on the door. Bucky hurried to open the door,
You heard JoaquĂnâs voice. âIs Sam ready?â
âCome in. Heâs taking a shower.â
Great! Just who you didnât want to see. Why was he even here? He shouldâve been doing whatever he did in Las Vegas, not ruining your family bonding time.
Your cellphone rang in your hand just as you had finished pouring coffee in a mug. Seeing your neighborâs contact name, you took the call immediately.
âHey, Ben. Everything okay?â
Your neighbor giggled. You knew it was fake as always. âHey, pretty girl. Where have you been? I made your favorite pastries yesterday but you didnât answer the door.â
You ignored the pet name. âOh! Thatâs very sweet of you. Iâm out of town right now.â
âAh.â You could hear the disappointment in his voice. âIs your cat by itself?â
âNo, no. I brought Fatatita with me and my best friend is taking care of my plants.â
âWell, then,â Ben said drily, âcall me if you need anything.â
âThank you. I promise Iâll make it up to you.â
JoaquĂn rolled his eyes. Oh, so he was listening in, huh.
âIâll hold you up to that,â Ben said.
The line clicked and once again you couldnât take your eyes off JoaquĂn who was glaring at you.
âWhat?â you snapped.
âNothing.â
âReally?â
âReally.â
You hummed. He nodded. Neither of you gave signs of tearing your eyes off each other.
Bucky cleared his throat. âAm I interrupting something?â
âNope.â You took the mug in your grasp. âI was just about to get back to work.â
Walking past him still hurt, maybe less than the last time, but that wasnât saying much when he shattered your heart that day.
What was his fucking problem? First, he barged back into your life without warning, and then dared to give you that look as if you still owed him explanations for how friendly you were with other people?
The nerve of him! Of his stupid pretty eyes you were sure nobody could say no to.
Fuck. Fuck him. Fuck this. You were tired of not getting over him when he had no consideration of what you wanted or needed. He was the one who led you on by making you believe everything would go back to normal.
Had you made a mistake by breaking up with him to go look for your dad instead of asking him to go with you? Maybe, but at least you didnât make him believe everything would be okay.
At least you had the decency to admit you had fucked up when you went back to him. At least you didnât try to impose your wishes on him.
Now your day was ruined and you still had a shit ton of work to get through. Approaching the bed, you picked Fatatita up and hugged her to your chest.
You technically could have asked Bucky for a hug, he had said he wanted to make up for lost time, but you didnât know him that well and it was embarrassing.
Begging for affection was something you were past of. You had taken care of yourself since you were 14, and learned the hard way that people didnât deserve your tears.
Still, hot tears streamed down your face. You werenât sure if you were angry, sad, or frustrated, but you wept until your cat forced you to let go of her.
If Bucky knew you had been crying, he surely know how to keep it to himself. You had lunch together between idle chats and nothing more happened.
You couldnât get used to him, no matter how hard you tried or how much interest he showed in getting to know you.
Tearing down the wall you had built for years didnât even sound easy to do, actually doing it seemed impossible as of now.
âI gotta run a few errands,â he told you as you carried the dishes to the sink, âwanna come with me?â
âI havenât finished my work for the day.â
His face fell. âNext time.â
âYeah,â you whispered.
Bucky gave you a tight smile and so you watched him leave with a weird feeling in your stomach. Was this how children felt when they saw their parents leave for work?
Sam didnât take long to arrive. You didnât have the full grasp of what they truly did, the superhero part was clear, but you didnât know if that was their job or their side gig.
He greeted you with a smile. Trying his best just like Bucky.
âBuckyâs running errands,â you notified him.
âYeah, JoaquĂn told me he called. I forgot my damn phone in the morning.â
âOh...â You didnât know what to say.
Sam sat on the yellow couch he used to hate. âPiece of advice?â
You braced yourself for the same thing your best friend had told you. âJoaquĂn doesnât deserve your hostility.â
âDonât call him Bucky to his face.â
âWhââ It took you a minute or two to process what he had said. âOh, yeah. Sorry.â
âItâs okay,â he told you softly. His eyes were on you, analyzing you. âAre you okay?â
âLots of new things at once... Iâm not good with...â You bit your bottom lip. âWork is driving me crazy,â you lied.
Sam pensively hummed and you knew he wouldnât touch the subject again. He probably knew you were lying, and heâd surely tell Bucky, but what could you do?
Well, you left Brooklyn in a hurry. Your bags had been made for days when the date finally arrived. Relief washed over you the moment you stepped into that plane.
Buckyâs feelings worried you, that was true, but you felt out of place in his and Samâs apartment. They had been welcoming and kind, and the fact that they werenât the problem stung.
As a teen you fantasized with everything you would do and say when you found your dad, but adulthood had crashed onto you in a giant wave. It washed away the naive illusion of one day having a normal life; a family.
You called him as soon as you got to your apartment. âJust wanted to let you know I made it safely.â
âThatâs good to hear.â The line shuffled. âHowâs the weather?â
âFine, I think?â
âSunny?â
âKinda cloudy. Itâs drizzling.â
âAh.â
âHey, Iâ I gotta go. Iâll call you soon, yeah?â
Bucky craned his neck as he looked up to the ceiling. âYeah. Take care.â
You hung up immediately.
âWhat am I doing wrong?â Bucky asked out loud.
Sam threw his arm over Buckyâs shoulders. âNothing. Just give her time.â
âWe should get her a job here,â Bucky suggested. âMaybe that way sheâll move closer to us.â
JoaquĂn shook his head. âThatâs not a good idea.â
âI forgot youâre an expert on her,â Bucky bitterly said.
JoaquĂn turned to look at Sam. His friend didnât help him out and instead said, âYou could ask her first.â
âShould I?â Bucky asked JoaquĂn.
Shrugging, JoaquĂn stood up from his seat and took his jacket. âI think we all know the answer sheâll give.â
âIf you had told me where she was when we metââ
âI didnât know you were her dad,â JoaquĂn snapped. He looked down, frustrated with himself for letting Bucky get to him when it wasnât his fault either.
âYou dated her.â
âLook, she didnât tell me who her dad was. I just knew she was looking for him.â
Bucky was left speechless. JoaquĂn put his jacket on and walked towards the door.
âJoaquĂn...â
âNot now, Sam.â He pulled the door open and left the apartment without any other comment.
JoaquĂn walked down the street, aimless. He shouldâve called â he couldâve called you right now in fact. But what could he say? He didnât even know why it hurt this bad.
The next time he heard about you was a couple months later. Sam and him were on a quick mission and Sam felt the need to give him updates about the family dynamic.
âShe doesnât want to meet Sarah and the kids,â Sam ominously said.
âI understand Bucky and you want to have a good relationship with her,â JoaquĂn assured him, âbut I donât get why you come to me for advice when weâre not together anymore for a reason.â
âBecause you know her and we donât.â
âShe doesnât cope well with change.â
âIs there any way to convince her?â
JoaquĂn had asked himself the same question. Many times, in many places. The conclusion was always the same. âNo.â
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Walking up the stairs with produce bags was part of your weekly routine. The elevator rarely worked and you didnât trust using it when it did.
It was early. The market had been almost empty when you arrived â you had to wait for a few people to set up their products before buying.
Early mornings and all-nighters were your norm. You couldnât remember the last time you slept in.
That was a lie. You could, you just chose to ignore it had happened. Everything always went back to a time you werenât sure you would ever get over, and at the point you were in your life, you would rather ignore your past altogether.
As you reached your floor, you tried to remember if you had bought lemons or limes. Oh, well, youâd make do. Now you just needed to buy cat food and youâd be set for the week.
You had just unlocked your door when you heard a voice behind you.
âFor a second there I thought you were out of town again.â
âNah, I just really wanted some fresh fruit.â
Ben hummed. âWanna hang out for a while?â
You considered it for a moment; you wanted to say no. Yet you gave in. âYeah, why not?â
You let him in first. Ben avoided knocking the bags you had placed on the floor in order to open the door and stood in the living room, eyes on the plant near the window.
âMake yourself comfortable,â you told him as you carried your bags into the kitchen.
He remained in the same spot until you came back. His blue eyes focused on you as you awkwardly stood in front of him.
Ben leaned in, hands ghosting your sides.
You placed both palms on his chest and pushed him off you. âWe said it wouldnât happen again.â
âRight...â
Whoever was at the door saved you from an uncomfortable conversation by knocking with urgency.
Ben frowned. âYou didnât tell me you were expecting somebody.â
âIâm not.â
The moment you opened the door, you realized something was terribly wrong. Sam hadnât visited you since the day you met him although he and Bucky called often.
He went directly to the point, âI need your help. Itâs important.â
You nodded, letting Sam in. âIâll talk to you later, Ben,â you said, hand on the door handle as you waited for him to leave the apartment.
You saw him glare at you, but Samâs presence was enough for him to keep his complaints to himself.
Sam sat down on the couch, watching you as you hesitated on whether to sit down or walk into the kitchen.
âWant some water?â you offered.
âSure.â
âIce?â
âNo, thank you.â
You filled your glass with crushed ice and a little bit of water and carried both glasses towards the coffee table.
With your glass between both hands, you asked, âWhatâs up?â
Sam didnât look at you as he said, âItâs about JoaquĂn.â
âIââ
âListen, I donât know what happened between you two and I donât care.â Sam made a pause, allowing you to munch on ice. âI havenât seen him in two weeks, I canât find him anywhere.â
You cleared your throat, fighting a cough. âAnd what do you want me to do? I donât even know where he lives.â
Sam took a gulp of water, not knowing what to expect. âYou said you werenât trained. Your file says otherwise.â
âI never said that.â
You had been careful when you answer that particular question. You hadnât been enough for Hydra, but that didnât mean they didnât break you first.
âWhy did Viper spare you?â
You bit the inside of your bottom lip. It was more than complicated â you didnât even remember much from that day. âI donât know,â you answered honestly. âShe beat me up and the next thing I knew, Kraken was taking me to my first foster family.â
âSo you havenât had any contact with her ever since?â
âNoââ You made a face. âWell... I think she sent me the first lead to find Bucky. The actual file that said he was my dad.â
Sam placed his glass back onto the table. âSheâs been on and off in Vegas for a while.â
âYou think she did something to him,â you asserted.
âWouldnât be the first time.â
You clenched your jaw. âHow can I help?â
âTelling me the truth.â He became extremely serious as he added, âI know you have contact with Seraph.â
You squeezed your eyes shut. You didnât care about Seraph, but the girls under her wing had suffered enough already. âI canât tell you anything about her, Sam.â
âI wonât tell anyone,â he promised. âLook, (Name), I already talked to Zemo and he doesnât know anything.â
âWhy canât somebody from the Air Force find her? Or him?!â you defensively asked.
Sam scoffed. âJust how much you know about him?â
âLast thing I knew he was choosing The Air Force over me.â
You poured ice into your mouth. Barely able to close it, you let a few little chunks melt before you started munching again.
âWe donât have time for this,â Sam lamented, âJoaquĂnâs life might be on the line.â
You shook the glass in your grasp. âI can link you up with one of her angels. Thatâs it.â
Sam nodded, pulling his phone out. âGive me her info.â
âNo, no.â You put your glass down. âWe go to Madripoor and the contact is made there.â
âIâm not taking you to Madripoor. Are you insane?â
âProbably.â
âYour dad would kill me!â
You shrugged. âDonât tell him.â
âI canât ruin my relationship like that.â
âSam...â You whined when he shook his head. Almost pouting, you stared directly at him. âPlease.â
âNo, that face wonât work on me.â
âIâll explain things to Bucky.â
âOh, you will. You are taking a flight to New York in...â He checked the time. âIn two hours and telling him to his face that you still have contact with Hydra.â
âIâm not a child.â
âThatâs exactly why youâre telling him. Adults donât hide shit like that!â
âYou donât get it.â
âAnd I never will. Besides, you owe this to us for the stress youâve given your dad and for refusing to meet my sister and nephews.â
He was right.
You pushed yourself off the chair. âHow light should I pack?â
Sam made a face, twisting his mouth. âI donât know. Pack like you did last time just to be safe.â
Well, you had twenty minutes to pack. And to struggle with putting Fatatita in her cage.
âHey,â you called for him from your bedroomâs doorframe. âWould you do me a favor?â
âDepends.â
âI bought produce that could go bad. Can you give it out? Everythingâs on the counter.â
His face softened. âOf course.â
Your cat wasnât too happy with being trapped in a carrier, much less with once again putting up with children in the plane.
So there you were, uncomfortable against the window with a whiny cat. You hated window seats and although planes were fine, you were sick of them.
Bucky picked you up at the airport without a word. He helped you with your luggage while you freed Fatatita from the carrier.
She snuggled up on your lap once you were in the car, but Bucky didnât start the engine.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â he softly asked.
You wouldâve preferred that he yelled at you. Maybe he would once you explained yourself.
âMy plan was to join The Angels.â
He didnât yell. âWhat?â
âI was lonely.â
âYou have a cat. You couldâve gotten another one or something. Anything that wasnât that.â
âYeah, and I love Fatatita,â you said indignantly as you massaged her head, âbut she canât talk or hug me back.â
You loved her snuggles, she was a sweet cat and you wouldnât have survived the last six years without her. But she wasnât human.
Painfully, you added, âI feel like I donât belong here. You have Sam and his family already, you have a home...â
âWeâve invited you to join.â
You didnât fit in with Bucky or with Sam, much less with Samâs family â they sounded like nice people, but if Sarah was half as intuitive as Sam, she would be able to tell you were uncomfortable and you didnât want to offend anybody.
You hated being alone and yet every path you took seemed to lead to loneliness. Maybe it was time to accept you had idealized your dad and he couldnât live up to the standard.
Or maybe that wasnât the issue, maybe you were as a whole. Living with it was your only option.
âItâs not that easy.â
âNothing is.â
Yeah, nothing was easy, but this thing particularly was kicking your ass.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Things between you and Bucky were tense. He took great offense after you confessed you had considered going back to Seraph so he barely spoke to you.
You had only heard updates about JoaquĂn â or better said, the lack of updates about him.
Focusing on work or anything that wasnât the phone on the table next to the couch was practically impossible.
Samâs call eventually came through. He said JoaquĂn was alive which wasnât relieving for either you or Bucky.
You wanted to hear that he was safe and sound. Alive was good, but not enough. Not when you knew exactly the type of things Ophelia was capable of.
âBring a jacket,â Bucky told you. He couldnât hide how mad he was â his voice was rough.
You silently complied, making sure to leave water for Fatatita.
On your way to the hospital, you tried to find something to say. The silence was unbearable, but you couldnât help but think you would be a bigger nuisance.
Bucky pulled into the vast parking lot and found a good parking spot in no time.
You didnât want to go there. Your mind had already run wild and the things you could encounter terrified you.
Fear seemed like a distant experience from a naive child. You hadnât been raised like this.
But you hadnât been raised to love anybody and yet you were, so full of love you would have rather died.
âIâll wait here.â
Bucky rolled his eyes and stretched his arm to open the passenger door. âYou are not staying here.â
Huffing, you got out of the car and waited for him to do the same. You slammed the door closed and he glared at you.
You immediately regretted listening to Bucky and coming to the stupid hospital. What were you even doing there? What would you fix?
JoaquĂn looked like shit. You could feel each hit as your eyes analyzed his bruised face. To make it worse, his left arm was wrapped and immobilized. You didnât want confirmation he had more injuries â you didnât need it.
âWhat did you find?â Bucky asked calmly.
JoaquĂn struggled to speak. âTheyâve been doing experiments on people. Kids included.â
âAnd you didnât think of telling anybody in case you needed backup?â
Bucky called your name sternly, warning you to shut up.
âNo. He deserves it. They couldâve fucking killed him!â
JoaquĂn stammered. Of course he didnât have a good answer. Of course he had to worry you sick even years later.
You felt actually sick to your stomach. Regret and anger often came hand in hand, but they had never made you feel like this.
âLetâs go outside,â Bucky commanded. âYou need air.â
He pushed you out of the room and all along the hallway. People looked at you weirdly, surely wondering why you were being rushed out of the hospital.
If air had filled your lungs, you didnât feel it. Stripping yourself off your jacket, you looked up at the sky. Why did you have to react like that?
Showing you cared never brought you anything positive. When you didnât put people in danger, you ruined your relationships. And now you were just acting like an emotional idiot over nothing.
You punched the wall out of frustration.
It was not nothing.
âHey, hey, hey.â Bucky moved you away from the wall and further into the open-air parking lot. âItâs okay. Iâve got you.â His arm was tight around your shoulders.
âI justâ I canât believe him, dad! Heâs always been this careless.â
Bucky became frozen.
âI know Iâm being too emotional and I shouldnât, Iâm sorrââ
âDonât.â Bucky tightened his grip on you. âLet it out, itâs okay. Iâm here.â His voice broke. âDadâs here.â
You hid your face in his jacket, for the first time in your life crying on your dadâs shoulder as he steadied you.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You had to admit you missed the bus. New York wasnât what people painted it as, much less the romanticized version your dad had presented you.
Either way, you were already there and you didnât plan on moving out any time soon.
You were careful to not shake the reusable bag in your grasp too much. Bucky had never tasted your cookies and you would change that in a few minutes.
Memorizing the path towards the apartment was easy. Sam had given you a few tips so you wouldnât have to call him all panicked because you were lost again. Luckily, he had gotten over it already.
Sarah was already at Samâs and Buckyâs when you arrived. Apologizing for being late, you placed the homemade cookies you had brought on the table.
Sitting between Sam and Bucky, you asked Sarah, âYou didnât bring the kids?â
âJoaquĂn took them out for ice cream so we could talk about adult stuff,â she easily explained.
You glowered at Sam who had just served you a glass of lemonade.
âYouâve avoided him for too long,â he said.
âAnd you know exactly why.â
âIâve heard both versions.â
You shook your head, knowing you wouldnât win this argument. Sarah lifted her eyebrows.
âSheâs as stubborn as her dad,â Sam told his sister.
âIf I remember correctly, you used to refuse to admit you liked Bucky,â Sarah shot back.
âDonât take her side!â
âNo, no, Sarah, tell me more,â you encouraged her. âThis is great material.â
She laughed, so did Bucky and eventually, Sam joined in.
The day you met Sarah had been bittersweet. She hadnât held grudges against you for refusing to meet her and her children earlier and they welcomed you the same way they welcomed Bucky.
In contrast, you did hold that grudge against yourself. Yes, you hadnât been ready to meet more people and were scared of not fitting in, but it wasnât their fault.
The kids won you over the second you met them and the rest was history.
You tried to avoid glancing at the door when you heard the key sliding in, but you betrayed your pride and gazed at JoaquĂn the moment the door opened.
His face wasnât bruised anymore and his hair was longer. He looked good, but that was to be expected.
You stood up to greet AJ and Cass, hugging them both. JoaquĂn smiled yet didnât say anything.
As he parted from you, AJ asked, âYou didnât bring your cat today?â
âSheâs at the apartment, probably asleep or enjoying her new cat tower.â
âYou finally bought one!â Cass had given you the idea when you mentioned you wanted to find something for Fatatita to entertain herself. âShe must be so happy.â
âYup. Wanna see it? Iâve taken hundreds of photos.â
Both kids nodded. You unlocked your cellphone and patiently showed them the photos. The living room hadnât been ideal for the cat tower so you put it in your office.
The problem, truly, was that the office was almost empty and you hated the color on the walls, but you hadnât gotten around to buy paint.
Fatatita looked adorable in her cat tower, though. She would sometimes jump to the desk and lay on it, demanding attention. You never died her.
âYouâll get to see it in person soon,â you promised AJ and Cass.
Both kids were happy with such promise. They ran towards their mom, leaving you facing JoaquĂn. Once again, you couldnât not stare at him.
âYou look great,â he told you.
âThanks.â You couldâve said he looked great too, but you didnât want to make it awkward. âItâs good to see your arm isnât broken anymore.â
He let out a small laugh. âYeah...â
âIâ Uhmm... I brought cookies.â
His face lit up. âI havenât had one of your cookies in ages.â
You extended a hand in a welcoming gesture. âHelp yourself.â
He didnât move immediately and in consequence, neither did you. What ifs didnât matter anymore, they didnât even hurt that much â you just genuinely wished you could interact with him without feeling like you were crossing a line.
You used to be able to communicate without words, to know what he needed just by gazing at him from across the room. JoaquĂn would read your body language perfectly every single time and never once failed to respect your boundaries.
Not even the godforsaken evening he left.
Would the two of you ever be able to go back to what it was? You didnât care if he still loved you â he probably didnât. You wanted your best friend back.
âAnybody want anything from the kitchen?â JoaquĂn asked.
âBeer, please,â Sam replied.
Sitting back down, you drummed your fingers against your lemonade glass with no particular rhythm. You were being silly, there was no reason for you to be nervous.
JoaquĂn handed Sam his beer. He then stood behind you.
âHere.â He placed a glass full of ice in front of you. Crushed ice.
Okay, maybe there was a reason for you to be nervous. Something you hadnât been on your first date or even the day you met him.
âThank you,â you mumbled.
Bucky kissed the side of your head. You leaned into your dadâs warmth, letting the others speak. You were getting better at joining into their conversations, but this time you simply couldnât focus.
His eyes were on you and yours wouldâve been on him if you werenât resting your head on Buckyâs shoulder.
You used to fantasize about something like this. A family afternoon, JoaquĂn and your dad getting along...
You lifted your head off Buckyâs shoulder and sighed. âI should get going. Iâm still getting used to the subway.â
âWant me to drive you a little bit later?â Bucky offered. âI donât get drunk.â
âI can drive her if she wants,â JoaquĂn said.
Bucky looked at him then nodded. âIf she wants.â
The answer shouldâve been no, but a little indulgence never hurt anyone. âSure.â
So you stayed until JoaquĂn had to leave. Samâs eyes lingered on you as you said your goodbyes â his hug was tight, an attempt to remind you things would be okay.
Bucky hugged you even tighter, almost lifting you off the floor. âDonât be so hard on yourself,â he whispered in your ear before parting from you. Your dad kissed your forehead before watching you go.
It wasnât the first time Sam or Bucky tried to encourage you to talk to JoaquĂn. You werenât dumb, you knew he had offered to drive you because he wanted to say something.
Had they planned it all out? You hoped they hadnât.
The night sky was clear, perfect for a long walk. Although long walks in New York were different, they were a good vehicle to get used to the environment which your therapist wouldâve loved for you to do. Oh, well, another night it would be.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
âYou can drop me at the subway station.â
âItâs okay if you donât want me to know where you live, but I offered to drive you home.â
Home. It still felt like a dirty word. He didnât say it to mock you, there was no malice in his voice. Once again, you were the problem.
You gave him the address, explaining the directions Sam had given you to not get lost. JoaquĂn only hummed in acknowledgment.
After a mostly silent drive, you werenât sure your assumptions from earlier had been correct. Maybe he was just trying to be nice and your brain had played you.
It was probably for the best in the general scheme of things, but you had to admit you were disappointed.
He stopped the car in front of the building. Neither of you attempted to move.
âCan we talk?â
You nodded. âHere? In the car, I mean.â
âWherever you feel comfortable.â
You both knew where things could go if you dared to invite him in. But you still did.
The elevator was thankfully empty. The space between your bodies almost disgusted you. The last time you had been in an empty elevator with him, neither of you had been able to take your hands off each other.
Turning the lights on, you apologized, âSorry for the mess. I have a lot of things to organize still.â
You walked towards the couch and picked the box you had left there up. Something moved inside.
A hiss let you know Fatatita was inside the box. You reached in and held her between your arm and your chest.
You put the box on top of the other boxes stacked up against the wall. And motioned for JoaquĂn to get comfortable.
Fatatita shifted in your grasp so you slowly put her down onto the floor. The cat ran towards the kitchen.
You tried not to stare at JoaquĂn. The more you did, the more you wanted to bury your fingers in his curls.
âSam told me what you did,â he quietly told you.
âItâs nothing.â
âYou had to move because of me.â
âIt was bound to happen,â you said simply as though it hadnât been one of the hardest decisions you had ever had to make.
He looked down. You hoped he was thinking the same thing you were. âIt wasnât supposed to happen like this.â
âIâm sorry for not telling you who my dad was.â
âIâm not going to say it didnât hurt, or that I get why you did it,â he admitted, âbut I hope you know I would have dropped everything to help you find him.â
âI know,â you assured him quickly. âThatâs why I never said yes, it wouldnât have been fair.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âYou wanted to join The Air Force more than anything. Your eyes would lit up when you talked about it and I didnât have the heart to pull you away from your dream.â You let out a small sigh, perfectly picturing him, so hopeful and excited. âAnd I wanted to, I really did, but you deserved better.â
âBut you were part of that dream.â
âYou know how much Iâve always hated not having a home, but you still wanted me to move every few years.â It was never going to work, no matter how desperately you wanted it to.
âSo I wasnât enough?â He masochistically peered up.
âWhaâ who said that? Why are you putting words in my mouth?â
âBecause you would have moved every few years with me. I was only going to leave when deployed. I had all of it planned. We would get married eventually so youâd live with me at the base and...â he trailed off.
Whether he was trying to spare your feelings or to find the right words was irrelevant. You stayed silent, in part because you didnât know what to do but mostly because you knew him well and were sure he wanted to finish his comment.
âI thought waiting for you was proof that I was serious about us. I asked you to move with me. WITH me, not for me.â
You sat down too. You didnât need him to remind you or to make emphasis on his words â you had understood what he wanted from the beginning; you wanted the same for the most part, but not like that.
Compromising wouldâve been good. Healthy. You wouldnât be in this mess now. But comprising entailed a specific kind of vulnerability you were afraid you would never recover from.
And you lost JoaquĂn because of that.
âI was scared and I already said sorry. What else do you want me to do?â
He twisted to face you. âDonât get defensive, weâre just talking.â
âI just...â You wanted to say a lot of things. If you had drunk alcohol you wouldâve let them all out at once and finally, the nuisance from the pills was paying off. âI donât want you to hate me. Thatâs all.â
âYou canât possibly think I hate you.â
You shrugged. âI sorta resented you for a while.â
âHow did you get over it?â
Lying would have been so easy, but you couldnât when he was implying you had gotten over him. There had been other people in your life after him and you had ruined those relationships too, but none of them hurt like this.
âI didnât.â
He sat there, unmoving as he stared at you as if he was waiting for you to tell him it was a joke.
âFuck,â he murmured.
âPlease donât make it awkward,â you begged him. âWe can forget this conversation happened. You will go back to Vegas and I will stay here, itâs okay.â
Everything would be okay. This was just the closure your therapist said you needed.
JoaquĂn broke it to you, âI live here.â
Speechless, you felt your blood drop to your feet. Deep breaths and counting to ten were as effective as ever and at the same time didnât cut it. Only you had this luck.
âSam didnât tell you Iâm Falcon now?â
Now Samâs and Buckyâs attitude made complete sense.
âHe forgot that small detail.â As you recovered your ability to speak, you stressed, âThe offer stands. We can forget this conversation happened.â
âI donât want to forget about it.â
âWe canât do this, JoaquĂn. Not again â last time was hard enough.â
He enthusiastically nodded. âBut Iâm not going anywhere this time.â Seeing your apprehension, he added, âAs much as I want to, Iâm not asking you to immediately get back with me.â
âWhat are you asking for, then?â
âAnother chance? A fresh start? I donât know. I miss you and I want to be with you, but Iâm not going to force you.â
âItâs not that you would be forcing me,â you clarified, âI miss you too, a lot. And the excuses I could give you are minimal, maybe a little petty...â He huffed a laugh. You continued, finally explaining yourself, âIâm scared we wonât really get past what happened.â
JoaquĂn placed his warm hand on your shoulder. âIâve already forgiven you.â
You rested your hands on his shoulders, blinking rapidly. Sliding your hands to his back, you hugged him.
His free arm snaked your waist. JoaquĂn hid his face in your neck, moving his hand to the back of your head.
He shifted to kneel on the couch, making you lightly part from him. Your eyes met and you pulled him closer again before he would say anything.
JoaquĂn bit his bottom lip. âCan I kiss you?â
You kissed him first, tired of pretending you hadnât been waiting for this since the day he left.
He softly kissed you back, bringing a hand to your face as he cupped your cheek. You relished in his warmth and gentleness, leaning into his touch and consequently kissing him harder.
Removing his arm from around you, he placed his hand on your belly and lightly pushed you onto your back. You ended up in an awkward position, yet you couldnât bring yourself to care.
He hovered over you, fingers caressing your sides as he continued kissing you. You tangled your fingers in his curls as he deepened the kiss.
You rendered each other breathless, touch growing looser as both of you panted.
âSo much for not rushing in,â you breathlessly joked against his mouth.
âAm I making you feel uncomfortable?â he panted.
âNo, donât worry.â
He hummed, leaving a small kiss on your jaw before dragging his lips to your neck.
âAlthough...â He immediately stopped. You chuckled. âMy back hurts.â
JoaquĂn moved off you, standing up and offering his hand to you to help you sit up.
Instead, you stood up altogether and took his hand. He didnât say no, he let you take him to your room.
You sat on the bed, tugging on his hand.
âCome here,â you needily said.
JoaquĂn happily complied, leaning in to kiss you again.
When you woke up the next morning, he was sound asleep next to you.
