anything. literally everything is on the table but they do it so rarely that it’s always a surprise and its always absolutely fucking devastating. never something that hurts their feelings or anything like that it just catches them off guard and they gotta sit there a couple seconds to process what just happened akjsdghl

some of the common ones tho? she’ll tease him for his hair all the time (rightfully so) but thats something she brings up all the time. he’ll tease her for her overly complicated coffee/tea routine. whether it’s her cafe order or the elaborate set up she has in the break room (its like a thirty minute process) he’ll mess w her ab it. she’ll tease him ab being so normcore all the time, like his polos and quarter zips when they’re not at work. he teases her ab her slightly hoarder tendencies, faking annoyance when he pretends to trip over clutter in her apartment or chuckling and shaking his head when she pulls out some scrap of paper from like five years ago. she’ll tease him ab being the perfect imagine of The Man (derogatory): lawyer, fbi agent, authority figure, suit, etc. usually she’ll mention it when he walks so stiff.

they know what lines not to cross and they’re good at making sure the other knows it’s a joke. his humor is so dry and she’s so unfailingly positive that it’s pretty easy to tell that they’re just messing around. they understand each other in opposite ways, and that’s just how their relationship is! but because of that understanding, its rare for feelings to get hurt bc they know theres no ill intent behind any of it

this is a very sexy question thank you for asking this question especially for these two specifically bc FUCK i have things to say

these are two people who do not want to talk ab their past. it’s traumatic, damning, may change the way the team looks at them, etc. they have their reasons. and i think that’s why they’re able to trust each other with information more than they would anyone else. ever since milwaukee they’ve had an indestructible bond. they dont need to know anything ab each other’s history to trust each other, so there’s no expectation of explanation. and that makes it easier for both of them to be more comfortable opening up

aside from that, they also know that they’re not gonna freak out? like if they go to anyone else on the team they’ll make a big deal about it but emily and hotch are so chill. its why everyone goes to emily when they’re having some emotional problem. the only reason they dont go to hotch is bc hes The Boss and idk u just dont always wanna be tellin random shit to ur superior. but i dont think that’s a problem for emily bc they both see each other… not as equals bc obviously he’s unit chief but they’re on a different playing field than the others. she can tell him stuff and not be worried its gonna bite her in the ass somehow bc she trusts that he wouldnt do anything like that

ok so actually addressing the question: a lot more than people think. and a lot more than they share with others. between emily’s bluntness and hotch’s dry humor, they can talk to each other about things that might freak the others out. there’s the dark stuff ab their pasts but there’s also lighter stuff. hotch can talk to emily ab things that would definitely make the others go o.O like casual sex and just needing a hookup. she’s his wingman bc she won’t be annoying about it. likewise, she can bitch about anything and everything to him, from how her neighbor’s pissing her off to debating names for cats to how she railed someone in the bar bathroom last night. he’ll just listen and add his input when prompted—and she respects him enough to actually give a shit about his opinions, even if she disagrees with him (which she usually does). but it shows her different ways of looking at things

i think emily can be more open about her.. lack of discomfort at the things they see. she doesnt have to pretend to struggle, she doesnt have to fake shock or horror. he can tell that its something to do with her past, but he’s not gonna pry about it. its just a skill she's built up and the others may be creeped out by it since they dont know where its comes from, but hotch just lets her be. i think hotch can tell her a little bit about his home life growing up. i dont think he’s ever had someone in his life who he’s sure won’t pity him or ask more questions than hes comfortable with or try to get him to do something about it. she’ll just listen. she’s not gonna judge and its not gonna change the way she looks at him, it’s just a chance for him to get it out.

depends on who it is and how much emily wants to annoy hotch at the moment.

Paxie kicked a stray rock back into its place on the side of the road and pouted. Arms folded behind her back, she did her best to tune out whatever Sharpflint was on about. Why?

“—and Primus fragging heck, Paxie, you know that as your friend—no, respected elder and mentor—I do not want to find your corpse on the side of the highway because you refuse to learn that—”

Yes. That. Because he was lecturing her about how strongly he disagreed with her personal stance in the Natural Form movement. However, she was not truly annoyed at all. It was a peaceful afternoon and she’d managed to convince Sharpflint to ditch patrol to walk with her. 

I’m going to have some fun here--after all, I’m giving up my free day, the one day I don’t have classes!!

Suddenly, one of his words registered in her mind and she got an idea. 

Paxie tapped his arm. He came to a halt alongside her, breaking off abruptly to give her a scathing ‘WHAT.’ However he swallowed that, too when he saw her face.

“You got one thing right, salty engines,” Paxie started, feigning frustration.

Sharpflint narrowed his yellow optics—he absolutely detested that ridiculous nickname.

“Oh?” He muttered back, half annoyed. “Enlighten me.”

Paxie shook her head, heaving a dramatic sigh. “Well, you’re old. But you’re not my mentor—you’re too old to be my mentor. I’d need a spry, young, whippersnapper like myself! In fact—wait—”

She did a shushing motion and looked around. Sharpflint moaned quietly, rolling his eyes hard. He waited for her to continue roasting him.

“Yes…yes, I can hear it!”

He decided to play along, folding his arms as he towered over her. “Hear what, Paxie?”

“Listen!! I can hear the high concentration of salt in your attitude rusting your rotor blades!!”

Frag me, Primus why.

“I can hear it from a mile—”

Sharpflint picked her up, smirking as her words melted into surprised yelping. He hoisted her over his shoulder, gripping her legs as the rest of her body hung over his back, and eyed the tree a small ways ahead of them. His grin grew wider.

“Old, huh?”

“Yes!!” Paxie was laughing now, gasping for air.

“Well, then, I’ll just show you how us elderly were taught to run!”

“FLINT!!!”

He swung her in a circle before racing ahead to the tree, prompting more giggled cries. His eyes glinted while his shorter friend shouted, playfully indignant, and demanded to be put down.

“I’ll snap you in two, you robot stick!!”

“Try it, tiny!! You’d barely leave a scratch!”

“OH—” Paxie narrowed her optics and whacked his green plating, still laughing. “SO SAYS ‘MR. INSULTS ARE RUDE’!! WOW!!”

Sharpflint let out a laugh himself, reaching the tree. Sure I said that, but I never said I couldn’t joke around…

“Hey, what are y—WAHHAHHHHHNOONONO—”

The two mechs had made it to the tree, so Sharpflint naturally tossed Paxie just high enough for her to land in one of the branches. As he’d hoped, she latched on and balled up against the metallic surface, optics wide with shock.

Take that, you adorable little scrap. Sharpflint nodded to himself, placing his hands on his hips and tilting his head back to take in the view. Paxie started giggling again, wailing down at him to help her off the branch .

“I’m only as old as the middle of the Great War!”

“You’re a salty, rusty sack of bolts!!”

Sharpflint sighed, turning away. “You and Mr. Tree can keep each other company until I come back here for patrol….” He pretended to think deeply, then calmly finished, “Four days from now.”

“Fine! You’re only as old as the youngest old bot from the war!!”

“Three days.”

“You’re a not-so-old dork!”

“Hmmm….” Sharpflint let the silence sink in, as if he were actually deeply considering her words. Paxie sighed audibly.

“You’re my favorite old dork--the best friend I could ask for!”

At this, Sharpflint turned and regarded her, beaming down at him. He unfolded his arms, chuckling lightly.

“I was going to let you down anyway, you know..” he said a little more quietly, feeling a little warm after her previous comment. The purple-white mech grinned back down at him.

“I know! I just wanted to say!”

Paxie was his closest friend, even if she was young, and didn’t know how bleak life could be—which was half the reason they ever got into fights in the first place anyway. Sometimes it’s hard to see eye-to-eye with someone who’s led a completely different life than your own. Both Sharpflint and Paxie were aware of that.

All that same, she was sunshine and openness.

Paxie was…simply put, a great friend.

Sharpflint cracked a small smile—not a smirk, but a real smile.

“You want to meet again at Silicon’s tonight?”

“Only if you’re paying!”

Sharpflint heaved another sigh, slumping over. Well, what else was to be expected? After all, the helicopter mech had thrown his friend into a tree. He couldn’t say no.

Well, no, he could, really should...but it would be rude—

“Oh, dear Primus,” he murmured under his breath, continuing to gaze up at Paxie, still hugging the tree branch for her dear life.

“Yay!! Silicon’s!!” Paxie cheered like a young sparkling, then cut herself off as her celebratory motions caused the branch to sway a bit too much. 

“Thank goodness for frequent paychecks…”

But above all, thank goodness for friends. Especially the ones that drive a bot nuts. Paxie, I’d give my life for you.

                   Okay, so, my favourite things when i see fandom stuff is just complete and utter character dissection and analysis? Not just “oh he likes x so y” but when people takes stuff frame by frame and you can SEE the thought process taken by a character who makes a split second descision. Or how certain past experiences would truly affect them, regardless of whether or not it’s addressed in canon. Tbh it fleshes out the character better and makes them feel more human. That’s why I’m always drawn to shows that have that naturally occuring in the story. I wish I saw it more often bc fandom has a nasty habit of coming up with three personality traits or even headcanons and making that the entire character. It kinda ruins the fandom for me tbh, bc then you can’t say anything about it without people disagreeing with you. That and anything you wanna read for the character feels horribly OOC (whoops that got long)

The 429 Democratic voters in our sample returned the favor and raised many of the same themes. Democrats inferred that Republicans must be VERY ill-informed, or that Fox news told me to vote for Republicans.;;Or that Republicans are uneducated and misguided people guided by what the media is feeding them.

Many also attributed votes to individual self-interest whereas GOP voters feel Democrats want free stuff, many Democrats believe Republicans think that I got mine and dont want the libs to take it away, or that some day I will be rich and then I can get the benefits that rich people get now.

Many used the question to express their anger and outrage at the other side.;;Rather than really try to take the position of their opponents, they said things like, I like a dictatorial system of Government, Im a racist, I hate non-whites.;

Only one in four Republican voters felt that most or almost all Democratic voters sincerely believed they were;voting in the best interests of the country.;;Rather, many Republicans told us that Democratic voters were brainwashed by the propaganda of the mainstream media, or voting solely in their self-interest to preserve undeserved welfare and food stamp benefits.

We asked every Republican in the sample to do their best to imagine that they were a Democrat and sincerely believed that the Democratic Party was best for the country.;;We asked them to explain their support for the Democratic Party as an actual Democratic voter might.;;For example, a 64-year-old strong Republican man from Illinois surmised that Democrats want to help the poor, save Social Security, and tax the rich.;;;

But most had trouble looking at the world through Democratic eyes. Typical was a a 59-year-old Floridian who wrote I dont want to work and I want cradle to grave assistance. In other words, Mommy!;Indeed, roughly one in six Republican voters answered in the persona of a Democratic voter who is motivated free college, free health care, free welfare, and so on.;;They see Democrats as voting in order to get free stuff without having to work for it was extremely common roughly one in six Republican voters used the word free in the their answers, whereas no real Democratic voters in our sample answered this way.;

Taking The Perspective Of Others Proved To Be Really Hard

The divide in the United States is wide, and one indication of that is how difficult our question proved for many thoughtful citizens. A 77-year-old Republican woman from Pennsylvania was typical of the voters who struggled with this question, telling us, This is really hard for me to even try to think like a devilcrat!, I am sorry but I in all honesty cannot answer this question. I cannot even wrap my mind around any reason they would be good for this country.

Similarly, a 53-year-old Republican from Virginia said, I honestly cannot even pretend to be a Democrat and try to come up with anything positive at all, but, I guess they would vote Democrat because they are illegal immigrants and they are promised many benefits to voting for that party. Also, just to follow what others are doing. And third would be just because they hate Trump so much. The picture she paints of the typical Democratic voter being an immigrant, who goes along with their party or simply hates Trump will seem like a strange caricature to most Democratic voters. But her answer seems to lack the animus of many.;;

Democrats struggled just as much as Republicans. A 33-year-old woman from California told said, i really am going to have a hard time doing this but then offered that Republicans are morally right as in values, going to protect us from terrorest and immigrants, going to create jobs.

Emboldened ‘unchanged’ Trump Looks To Re

Across the party as a whole, an NBC News poll released late last month found, a majority of Republicans considered themselves supporters of the GOP, compared to just 44 percent who supported Trump above all, the first time that has been the case since July 2019.

But mild dissatisfaction with Trump isn’t the same as political courage. Most prominent Republicans have publicly aligned with Trump even as voter support erodes, and they’re buckled in for the long haul. That creates the opening for more traditional Republicans to toy with forming a new party but it’s a slim one.

While the hopefulness of young whites has increased 11 points, from 35% to 46% — the changes in attitudes among young people of color are striking. Whereas only 18% of young Blacks had hope in 2017, today 72% are hopeful . In 2017, 29% of Hispanics called themselves hopeful, today that number is 69% .

By a margin of nearly three-to-one, we found that youth agreed with the sentiment, Americans with different political views from me still want whats best for the country — in total, 50% agreed, 18% disagreed, and 31% were recorded as neutral. In a hopeful sign, no significant difference was recorded between Democrats and Republicans .

| We’ve been hearing it for months: Many established Republicans won’t support Donald Trump, who now is the party’s 2016 presidential nominee.

Since May 3, when Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus urged the party to unite behind the real estate tycoon, several prominent Republicans have publicly said they won’t back the New York billionaire in the general election. And some have said they will skip the Republican National Convention, scheduled for July 18 through 21 in Cleveland.

Trump’s inflammatory remarks toward immigrants and women have given pause to some members of the party, while others differ on his policy stances on issues including the economy, foreign affairs and international trade, to name just a few. Meanwhile, a small number of established members of the party have publicly supported the presumptive nominee.

Below is a look at who has said what…so far.

With Trump Off The Ballot Republicans Look To Regain Votes In The Suburbs

Trump’s influence in Ohio even after defeat so far has showed no signs of decline.

In the Ohio legislature, where the GOP controls the agenda with a super-majority, Republicans are looking to enact new restrictions on voting, following Trump’s baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 elections. There have even been proposals to rename a state park after Trump and to honor him with a state holiday. U.S. Senate hopefuls are jockeying to be the most pro-Trump Republican candidate. And the fact that a Cleveland area GOP congressman, Anthony Gonzalez, voted to impeach Trump in January has made him a handy target for Republicans looking to catch Trump’s eye, and maybe an endorsement.

But even at the Licking County GOP gathering, there were a number of opinions about the former president and the role he should play going forward in Republican politics.

The guest speaker at the event was GOP consultant Matt Dole, whose remarks offered a bit of consolation to audience members who may have loved Trump but were far less fond of his Twitter habit.

“We had to defend whatever Donald Trump did on a day in and day out basis,” Dole told his audience of about 50 Republican Party members. He added that they were all for Trump’s policies, “but sometimes his tweets got in the way.”

Republicans wish Trump were still in office, but according to Dole, they are now free to go on offense and focus on attacking the policies of Biden and the Democrats.

Forty Percent Of Young Americans Expect Their Lives To Be Better As A Result Of The Biden Administration; Many More Feel A Part Of Bidens America Than Trumps

By a margin of 2:1, young Americans expect their lives to become better under the Biden administration, rather than worse ; 25% tell us that they dont expect much of a difference. We found significant differences based on race and ethnicity.

Whites: 30% better, 28% worse

Blacks: 54% better, 4% worse

Hispanics: 51% better, 10% worse

Forty-six percent of young Americans agreed that they feel included in Bidens America, 24% disagreed . With the exception of young people living in rural America, at least a plurality indicated they felt included. This stands in contrast to Trumps America. Forty-eight percent reported that they did not feel included in Trumps America, while 27% indicated that they felt included . The only major subgroup where a plurality or more felt included in Trumps America were rural Americans.;

39% of Whites feel included in Bidens America, 32% do not ; 35% of Whites feel included in Trumps America, 41% do not .

61% of Blacks feel included in Bidens America, 13% do not ; 16% of Blacks feel included in Trumps America, 60% do not .

51% of Hispanics feel included in Bidens America, 12% do not ; 17% of Hispanics feel included in Trumps America, 55% do not .

Have Expressed Reluctance Or Misgivings But Havent Openly Dropped Their Backing

Paul Ryan and John Boehner, the former speakers of the House: Both have expressed their dislike of the president, but have not said whom they will support in November.

John Kelly, a former chief of staff to the president: Mr. Kelly has not said whom he plans to vote for, but did say he wished we had some additional choices.

Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska: She has said that shes grappling with whether to support Mr. Trump in November. She told reporters on Capitol Hill in June: I am struggling with it. I have struggled with it for a long time.

She said: I think right now, as we are all struggling to find ways to express the words that need to be expressed appropriately, questions about who Im going to vote for or not going to vote for, I think, are distracting at the moment. I know people might think thats a dodge, but I think there are important conversations that we need to have as an American people among ourselves about where we are right now.

Mr. Sanford briefly challenged the president in this cycles Republican primary, and said last year that he would support Mr. Trump if the president won the nomination .

That has since changed.

Hes treading on very thin ice, Mr. Sanford said in June, worrying that the president is threatening the stability of the country.

Gov. Phil Scott of Vermont: Mr. Scott has said multiple times this summer that he will not be voting for the president, a position that he also took in 2016. He says he has not yet decided whether or not he will vote for Mr. Biden.

William H. McRaven, a retired four-star Navy admiral: Several Republican admirals and generals have publicly announced they will not support the president. In an interview with The New York Times, Admiral McRaven, who directed the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, said, This fall, its time for new leadership in this country Republican, Democrat or independent.

May opinion poll finds that 53% of Republicans believe Trump is the true president compared with 3% of Democrats

A majority of Republicans still believe Donald Trump won the 2020 US presidential election and blame his loss to Joe Biden on baseless claims of illegal voting, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.

The 17-19 May national poll found that 53% of Republicans believe Trump, their partys nominee, is the true president now, compared with 3% of Democrats and 25% of all Americans.

About one-quarter of adults falsely believe the 3 November election was tainted by illegal voting, including 56% of Republicans, according to the poll. The figures were roughly the same in a poll that ran from 13-17 November which found that 28% of all Americans and 59% of Republicans felt that way.

Biden, a Democrat, won by more than 7m votes. Dozens of courts rejected Trumps challenges to the results, but Trump and his supporters have persisted in pushing baseless conspiracy theories on conservative news outlets.

US federal and state officials have said repeatedly they have no evidence that votes were compromised or altered during the presidential election, rejecting the unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud advanced by Trump and many of his supporters. Voter fraud is extremely rare in the US.

Still, 67% of overall respondents say they trust election officials in their town to do their job honestly, including 58% of Republicans, according to the poll.

It annoys me a lot Amara gets called a boring character.

You may argue she isn’t particularly well-written, but boring? Amara has a LOT of interesting things as a character:

A queen who gets crowned and married very young (for reference, Amara was 19 when she had Nahyuta and was already a queen), only to be a target of a fake assassination attempt by her own sister, being separated from her husband and son as a result for literally years.

When she finally reunites with her husband and son and then having a daughter, only to get separated from her husband and son again and being taken hostage by her sister.

Disguising herself as her daughter’s servant, so she could raise her daughter, while also teaching her daughter the wisdom being a good ruler.

Willing to go into great lengths, including risking her own reputation to protect her daughter.

How does all this make Amara a boring character to anyone is beyond me.

If anything, it is a wasted potential that Amara doesn’t get more screen time as herself outside of her disguise as Nayna as well as having to lie to protect Rayfa, and the game doesn’t explore much about how she deals with the trauma of dealing with her sister’s scheme of usurping her as well as being separated from Dhurke and Nahyuta more than once, only to eventually lose Dhurke for good.

Also, straight headcanons for Amara are a slander to her character.

Honestly, Amara is one of the most criminally underrated and underappreciated characters in the entire Ace Attorney series. If we get to explore Khura’in again, I wish we could see more of Amara as well.

(im kidding. his name was originally a pun, but not a typography one - he’s a rehash of an old oc i had way back in the day, who was based off a magpie. hes actually on the short side for a dwarf, i want to say around 4′3″)

he was a lyrium smuggler before the inquisition, and specifically was the front man who sold it. he’s a champion liar and man of many faces, and knows how to disappear in plain sight (which is easy if you’re a dwarf and most law enforcement on the surface are humans. to a human guard dwarves all look the same and theyre too short to really get a good look at their faces). he had a pretty transient lifestyle- he didn’t get tied down, didn’t get too attached to anyone or anything, had pretty few posessions. he was 26 (or the dwarf equivalent of 26. hows dwarf aging work in dragon age anyway) when the carta got him to spy at the conclave, and you know how that went

look ok. the first half of his career as inquisitor was just. wingin’ it. no one really knew what the fuck he was supposed to be doing, least of all him, so he just pretended he knew what he was doing till, i wanna say the end of into the abyss. after talking to mal hawke some he learned that, hey, everyone’s always winging it, and also that his decisions kind of really mattered. (and that those decisions he makes can. kill people) for the first time in his life, he realizes hes actually important, and what he does changes things on the large scale

so after that, he got to thinking. the world kinda sucks. and it sucked before the war. and the leaders of thedas are really not doing all that much about it, except trying to kick each other in the nuts while their enemies are weak and completely forgetting that politics Cannot Survive as a practice if theres no farmers able to make food for diplomats to eat. so, orlais, if your farmland is all gunched up with battlefields, then you need to fix that, don’t you. but the inquisition is really, really good at providing stability! it’s good at establishing patrols, safe trade routes, providing local employment, and is a fairly reliable consumer of local goods. so pica capitalized on that, and quietly spread inquisition presence all over southern thedas. this led to immense inquisition influence, with very little fanfare.

you can guess why the rulers of thedas tried to get rid of him as soon after corypheus was taken care of as possible. they branded him a tyrant and like. ok. they werent like. super far off. bc at this point he was kinda trying to see how much of the world he could take over before anyone noticed/tried to stop him and also figured he could do like, a way better job at leading it than the current rulers could. and he wasnt beholden to anyone either (not like empress celene! elected to her throne by… uhhhhhhhhhhh divine providence or something. i mean shes doing an ok job but like i didnt vote for her) so if he really really wanted to he could go full dragon reborn

ive got off topic but point is he figures humans have had their go and they fucked it up, so it’s a dwarf’s turn and he’s going to put the world back together himself. he romanced cassandra! i really like their relationship- they look to each other for moral guidance. pica knows he can get flighty and relies on her to keep him in line, and always asks her for advice when he sees her in the courtyard. he usually doesn’t follow it but he feels it’s important to have her perspective on things

they disagree on a lot of stuff (like he made celene and briala co-leaders but she was in favor of gaspard) but he trusts her judgement, and supported her in becoming the divine

he’s a little weird about religion, specifically relating to the stone. the surfacer part of him that hates caves is like pff hippie garbage, but the bit that’s generations old and wants to belong to a larger whole of a culture is Super Into It. cole said he felt the stone’s presence around pica one time and externally he didnt react but internally he was yelling WHAT THE FUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKK I LIVED IN SUCH PEACEFUL IGNORANCE I DIDNT NEED TO KNOW THAAAAAT and after the mythal thing hes like fuck believe what you want. whatever floats your boat. we live in a world where nugs have little people hands so if it comforts you to know a god did that then live your truth

hes trans! im not sure how thatd be regarded in dwarf society, in undergrounders i doubt it’d be very acceptable given their emphasis on reproduction, but house cadash has been on the surface for generations and has probably adopted more liberal views on lgbt stuff. either way hes not very open about it, and it’s really easy to pass when he’s around humans (i get the feeling dwarves and humans look for different things, when they’re trying to guess gender. for example hes got some beard scrub, which in human terms means male but in dwarven terms probably either means very young male or unkempt female) (the added implication to this is that varric might keep his beard to stubble so he looks younger) he met krem and had an instant Trans Solidarity moment, which also comes with the Trans Fear that the person Knows that you’re trans and could out you. it’s a weird kind of trust and for me feels like that one performance art piece with the people holding the bow and arrow. anyway hes cool w krem but doesnt talk to him all that much. theyve got pretty different interests.

his best friends are probs cole and dorian! he’s very curious, and likes to hear different perspectives on things. he and dorian often play chess and discuss all sorts of stuff. they end up yelling a lot because they both want to talk but the other started saying something before they were done with their point, which they started saying before the other was done with their point, and so on. he doesnt get very far in the slavery argument until hawke starts chillin at skyhold more regularly and can adequately school him on the state of tevinter slavery (fuck i gotta make a post about that. mal’s had a lot of development since i last talked about him)

he listens very seriously to cole’s observations. he can really appreciate the input of someone who watches so much more than speaks, and heartily supported his ventures in becoming more human.

he also gets along very well with josephine and likes to trick her into taking days off. hes also always down to chat w dagna and scout harding! and varric, of course. it’s always nice to talk to someone without having to crane his neck up at them all the time

(this is the reason he doesnt usually spend time w bull. hes just too tall and its uncomfortable knowing your face is at your friend’s dick height while ur trying to discuss battle strategy)

“Y/N! Y/N, wake up!” Hermione screamed, she’d been shouting at you for at least two minutes but you just didn’t want to get out of bed. Groaning, you rolled over and pulled the duvet up over your face in an attempt to block out the light flooding in from the windows.

“Just five more minutes,” you mumbled, you’d hardly gotten any sleep last night and just wanted to stay in bed.

“You can’t sleep any more Y/N, we need to get to the boys Quidditch match,” Hermione said.

“I don’t want to go,” You whined, snuggling closer to the duvet as you envisioned the cold wind out by the Quidditch pitch. 

Hermione decided she’d had enough and grabbed the end of the duvet, trying to pull it off you.

At that very moment, Ginny decided to make an appearance in the 6th year dorm and watched in amusement as Hermione tried to tug the duvet away from you, even though you’d wound yourself around the duvet and was clinging on to it for dear life.

“Miaaa, stooppp!” you cried. Ginny laughed at the use of Hermiones’ nickname, you’d given it to her the year before and had continued using it ever since. Hermione hated the nickname and anyone who tried to call her it, apart from yourself, would get a hex thrown in their direction.

“Get *tug* your *tug* lazy arse *tug* out of bed!” Hermione bellowed, giving one last pull before she toppled over onto the floor, duvet in hand, as you and Ginny laughed hysterically.

Hermione got up, dusted herself off and sent a glare in your direction before giving in and laughing herself.

“At least I got you out of bed,” Hermione chuckled, looking quite proud of her accomplishment.

“ha ha,” you replied sarcastically, before making your way to the bathroom, “Tell the boys I’ll be down in a minute, I just need to get ready.”

“Will do, we’ll meet you in the Great Hall,” Ginny shouted as she and Hermione left the common room and made their way towards the hall for breakfast.

“Finally,” Hermione said, “We thought you’d gone back to bed.” You simply elbowed Hermione in the side as you sat down to join your friends for breakfast.

“Hey Y/N, sleep well?” Harry asked, a smirk playing on his lips and a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“Mia, did you seriously have to tell them?” You whined, grabbing all the food you could off the plates before they were taken by your house mates.

“Come on Y/N, everyone already knows you’re not a morning person,” Ginny responded, winking at you as she popped some food into her mouth.

“Yeah - well - I ... ugh fine,” You groaned, knowing that this was a battle you were not going to win.

“Hey where’s Ron?” You asked, noticing that he wasn’t at breakfast, which was a shock because wherever there was food there was usually a Ron to accompany it.

“He’s still in our room, he’ll be down in time for the game, he’s real nervous.” Harry said, worry creeping into his features as he thought about his best mate.

“Oh, okay. I’m going to go talk to him,” you replied, saying a quick bye to everyone and grabbing a piece of toast for Ron before making your way out of the Great Hall.

You’d just walked out into the corridor and as you turned the corner towards the common room you were hit by a larger body, just as you were about to hit the floor an arm snaked around your waist and pulled you back up.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to - “ you began, but stopped once the face of your rescuer came into focus, “Draco?!” You blurted out, suddenly going red in the face.

“Hey Y/N, um, sorry about that, I, uh, wasn’t looking where I was going,” He apologised, rubbing the back of his neck nervously with his free hand.

“Oh ... uh ... don’t worry about it,” you mumbled, smiling up at him. 

It was at that moment that you both realised just how close the two of you were, your faces were merely inches apart, Dracos’ arm was still wrapped around your waist and you could smell his cologne fresh from this morning.

“Well, I’ll ... um, see you around then,” Draco said, blushing profusely and walking past you towards the Great Hall.

“Draco!” You called, almost laughing out loud when he stopped mid stride and almost tripped over his own feet.

“Yeah?” He asked, confusion on his face,

“Good luck in the match today,”

“Oh,” He replied, obviously surprised that she’d wish him luck against her own house, “Thanks,” and with a shy smile he turned and walked away.

Why can’t he just act like that around everyone, instead of being a pompous arse in public?

Clutching the piece of toast you’d picked up for Ron, you made your way towards the Gryffindor common room to slap some sense into your good friend Ronald.

“WE WON!!” Ron bellowed, standing on top of a table in the Room of Requirement as Hermione tried to pull him down.

“Ronald! You’re embarrassing yourself,” Hermione scolded, finally managing to pull him off the table, only to pull him on top of her as they fell to the floor, the room providing a comfortable landing in the form of some cushions.

“You know you’re very beautiful Mione,” Ron blurted out, smiling at Hermione from his place on top of her.

“Oh, I, thanks?” Hermione replied, a blush creeping up her neck as she smiled nervously back at Ron. You watched as two of your best friends shared this moment, then an idea hit you.

“KISS KISS KISS!” You chanted, smirking when Ron and Hermione stared at you in horror. Soon Harry and Ginny joined in, then the whole room began chanting for the pair to kiss.

“Eh What the hell?” Ron yelled, before leaning forward and capturing Hermiones’ lips in a passionate kiss.

“WHOOOO!” The uproar from the party was ecstatic, people were clapping and screaming.

“Finally, they sure took there time,” A voice said behind her. Turning around she was surprised to find Draco standing behind her, holding out a bottle of cider for her to take.

Harry had decided that after the war he was going to let go of all house prejudices, he always made sure to invite everyone 4th year and over from each house to any celebrations the Gryffindors had, even if his other house mates disagreed with his actions.

“Thanks,” you said gratefully, taking the bottle before turning back to watch Hermione and Ron, who were now stood up and whispering to each other in the corner of the room. 

“They make a cute couple, I’ve been trying to get them together for a while now.”

“They make a good match,” Draco admitted grudgingly, taking a swig from his own bottle. 

“They do, don’t they,” you replied happily, “Draco? Can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“How come you don’t act like this around everyone else?” you asked, the alcohol making you braver than you normally would be.

“Act like what?” He asked.

“Like you. Every time me and you talk you’re always so nice, so un-Draco-like but you still pretend to be a pompous brat with a stick up your arse around everyone else, why?”

“I - I guess I just want you to - I don’t know, like me? You know actually like me for me. I don’t care about any one else so why should I show them the real me when all they know is the old Draco, they wouldn’t understand.” Draco muttered, looking down at the bottle in his hand.

sins - envy, jesus fuck is he envious of literally every single person who he thinks is better than him. he will work himself to the bone in order to try to be better than other people and gets jealous of people who have a GPA that is 0.01 higher. also this isn’t really a sin but he can get really really possessive really fast, and gets kind of mad when he’s in a gathering with finch and rabia and they don’t talk to him. also not really a sin but it’s really hard for him to let himself relax, like he feels bad if he isn’t working

outspoken/reserved: reserved but with finch and rabia he can get really outspoken and honestly kind of annoying. which is not something you would expect on first view

leader/follower: he’s more of a follower/supporter type, he’s literally a healer [as in healing magic! surprise fuckers this is a modern fantasy story] and he prefers being the strategizer anyway so it works for him.

empathetic/unemphatic: he’s empathetic but he doesn’t tend to show it much? like when you know him you can tell when he is but he has to pretend to be a lot of the time

optimistic/pessimistic: pessimistic For Sure, he’s literally never going to believe someone if they tell him something will work out all right if he’s stressed out about it. it does work out all right but he’s also the most organized person on the planet so that’s pretty much to be expected.

traditional/modern: weird mix of both, i think? he’s internally very traditional in his beliefs a lot of the time, but he also listens to screamo so. idk. you tell me. the way i’d describe him is “types in lower caps but is still a grammar prescriptivist and rarely uses slang”

hard-working/lazy: hard working, if that wasn’t already obvious by the double-major premed/music thing. it’s honestly kind of ridiculous how good he is and finch is permanently in awe.

ot3: finch/hiromi/rabia! i haven’t really mentioned rabia much, but she’s the main female protag [finch is nb and the Main protag overall, and hiromi is the main guy protag]. he’s more friendly w rabia than anything else but they do like each other too, though definitely not in the same way they like finch.

brotp: raven, who i also haven’t talked about at all but she’s the cool butch fencing assistant. she’s closer with finch (best friends w them actually) but is friends with hiromi by proxy. ironically i think he’s closer with phoebe who is raven’s gf but i haven’t fully figured that out yet. and finch, before they start Officially dating, since they’re childhood pals, and they’re still great friends when they do start being more than friends

notp: …anyone who isn’t finch or rabia tbh. at the very least i would question any pairing that doesn’t involve him and finch bc they’re just so close.
