Chasing a Mirage
Pairing: Viktor x Reader Genre: Angst, Fluff, Longing, Bittersweet Romance Setting: Piltover, Post-Season 1, Viktorâs lab and your shared memories of what once was.
The rain tapped softly against the window of Viktorâs lab, a rhythmic, almost melancholic sound that mirrored the ache in your chest. You stood in the corner of the room, watching as Viktor worked tirelessly, his fingers moving with precision over his latest project. He barely looked up, his focus so intensely consumed by his inventions that it was as if you werenât even there.
This had become routineâthe silence, the distance. Viktorâs ambition had always driven him, but lately, it had felt like it was driving a wedge between you. The man who once found time for quiet moments, stolen kisses, and soft conversations now seemed unreachable, lost in his endless pursuit of progress. And yet, despite the growing chasm, you couldnât bring yourself to leave.
Because no matter how far he drifted, you loved him. You always had. Even when it felt like loving him meant chasing something you could never quite catch.
You sighed softly, the sound almost drowned out by the hum of machinery. âViktor,â you called out, your voice gentle but firm, cutting through the quiet like a whisper in the dark.
He didnât answer right away, his head still bent over his work. For a moment, you thought he might not respond at all, but then he spoke, his voice strained and tired. âYes?â
âIâve been standing here for almost an hour,â you said, trying to keep the frustration from your tone but failing. âYou didnât even notice.â
Viktorâs hands stilled, his brow furrowing as he let out a soft sigh. He finally looked up at you, his golden eyes dull with exhaustion. âIâm sorry,â he murmured, the apology sounding hollow, like it was automatic. His gaze flickered back to his work, as if the weight of your presence was a distraction he didnât have time for.
The distance between you had been growing for months, ever since Viktor had begun his experiments with Hextech. It had started with late nights and missed dinners, but now, it felt like you were living in separate worldsâhis dominated by invention and progress, yours left behind in the quiet spaces he no longer seemed to care about.
You stepped forward, crossing the room until you were standing beside him, your hands resting on the workbench as you tried to bridge the gap. âYouâve been working yourself to death,â you said quietly, your voice soft but pleading. âYou never stop anymore. You barely sleep, you barely eat, and it feels like⊠like Iâm losing you.â
Viktorâs jaw tightened, and he turned slightly to face you, his expression conflicted. âYou know how important this is,â he said, his tone both apologetic and frustrated. âThereâs so much at stake. I canât just stop now.â
âIâm not asking you to stop,â you said, your voice shaking slightly. âIâm asking you to remember that you donât have to do this alone. That Iâm still here. That I⊠I still need you.â
His eyes softened at that, but there was a weariness in them, a deep exhaustion that went beyond just the physical. âI know,â he whispered, his voice strained with guilt. âIâm trying. But thereâs so much that needs to be done. Every day I feel like Iâm falling further behind. Like Iâll never be enough.â
Your heart ached at his words. You knew how hard Viktor was on himself, how relentless his pursuit of perfection had become. But you also knew that it was tearing him apartâthat it was tearing both of you apart.
Reaching out, you gently took his hand, the cold metal of his brace against your skin a stark reminder of the lengths he had gone to for his work. âYou are enough, Viktor,â you said softly, your voice trembling with emotion. âYouâve always been enough.â
He stared down at your intertwined hands, his expression unreadable. For a moment, you thought he might pull away, retreat back into his world of metal and machinery where emotions were secondary, where the only thing that mattered was the next breakthrough. But then, slowly, his fingers tightened around yours, a fragile acknowledgment of the connection he was so afraid of losing.
âI donât want to hurt you,â he said quietly, his voice breaking ever so slightly. âBut I donât know how to stop.â
Tears stung your eyes, but you blinked them back, determined to stay strong for him. âYou donât have to stop,â you whispered, stepping closer until your body was pressed against his. âIâm not asking you to give up on your dreams, Viktor. I just want to be a part of them. I want to be with you, not just beside you.â
Viktorâs breath hitched at your words, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he turned fully toward you, his eyes searching yours with a vulnerability that cut through the layers of distance he had built. âI donât want to lose you,â he admitted, his voice rough with emotion. âBut I donât know if I can give you what you deserve.â
You shook your head, your hand reaching up to cup his face, your thumb brushing gently against his cheek. âYouâve already given me everything I need,â you said softly, your voice full of conviction. âI just need you.â
For a long moment, Viktor didnât move, didnât speak. He simply stared at you, his eyes wide with disbelief, as if he couldnât quite understand how you could still love him despite everything. But then, slowly, he leaned forward, resting his forehead against yours, his breath warm against your skin. It was the closest you had felt to him in weeks, and the sheer relief of it made your heart ache.
âI donât deserve you,â he whispered, his voice full of self-doubt.
âMaybe not,â you teased gently, your lips curving into a small smile despite the tears in your eyes. âBut youâve got me anyway.â
Viktor let out a shaky breath, and for the first time in a long time, you saw the faintest hint of a smile tug at his lips. It was small, barely there, but it was enough. Enough to remind you of the man you had fallen in love withâthe man who still existed beneath the layers of ambition and exhaustion.
You stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in the quiet comfort of each otherâs presence, the world outside the lab fading away. It wasnât perfect, and you knew there were still battles to be fought, both within Viktor and outside of him. But in that moment, you had each other, and that was enough.
Eventually, Viktor pulled back, his hand still holding yours as he looked at you with a mixture of love and guilt. âIâll try,â he said quietly, his voice soft but full of sincerity. âIâll try to be better.â
You smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from his face. âThatâs all I need.â

i just can't do this anymore, fem!viktor lives in my thoughts completely rent free, and i think about her constantly, soâŠ
some of my thoughts about fem!viktor (viktoria). you can consider it modern uni au or something like that. and my lil collage!
i think viktoria is lonely. she has been lonely all her life. she always felt like a burden, an outcast, ânot enoughâ, although she carefully hid it under the mask of quiet indifference. viktoria has no friends. she had a friend, sky, who moved to another city, and now the girls rarely see each other. but viktoria has already gotten used to it. she began to call her loneliness âa solitudeâ a long time ago, noting that it was definitely her choice, and not the unfair pranks of life.
i think viktoria would have liked to have a friend group. you know, the kind where everyone is like sisters to each other, where there is support and warmth and care, where there is laughter and sleepovers and good moments. but, unfortunately, viktoria always ended up being unfriended. she tried to be part of a group of girls, but she always was the one who was hobbling along the road at the back, while a few of her friends walked in front. she didn't blame them. she knew she was pretty hard to be with.
i think viktoria is not really interested in the beauty industry. she perceived the standards imposed by society as stupidity that does not deserve so much attention. but then why was she always laughed at because of her hairy legs? is it really so hard for people to understand that it is quite difficult for a girl, who can barely walk, to shave her body? and that she simply does not want to waste her time on something that will bring her back pain, unwanted cuts and irritation on her sensitive skin? what a nonsense...
i think viktoria's life is not as terrible as it might seem at first. there are white stripes between the dark ones. she's not one to give in to despair, after all. viktoria loves to study. she loves science. any kind of science. she loves solving sudoku, taking herself on dates to coffee shops or libraries, she loves to draw a little. viktoria, although far from knowing how to do makeup, loves to treat herself to a nice-smelling lip balm or a pretty hair clip. it's not that she's picky about it. it's just the little things that make her life better. she also loves animals, children, potted flowers, cool weather and comfortable loose clothes. she loves rainy mornings and green tea when coffee is too much for her body. yeah, her life is definitely not that bad.
I think viktoria met jayce completely by accident. he was her classmate and, surprisingly, was not as âpopular guyâ as he could have been with his looks. they were paired up to do a chemistry lab assignment. then, if viktoria hadnât corrected jayceâs formula, there could have been an explosion. a small one, but still unpleasant. jayce realized then that he was head over heels in love. and viktoria realized that he was a silly guy. they then went to have lunch together during the long break in the backyard of the university. viktoria was surprised that jayce didnât walk too fast, adjusting to a pace that was comfortable for her. for the first time in her life, she didnât have to catch up with someone.
i think when viktoria had her birthday, jayce prepared a little surprise for her. he made her a notebook and a hydrangea pendant himself, because those were her favorite flowers. viktoria was amazed then â she had never received such a thoughtful gift. and jayce got his first kiss on the cheek that wonderful morning.
i think viktoria had a lot of insecurities, although she didnât show it. she thought she was too tacky for jayce. too awkward, too unhealthy, too ugly, too⊠jayce interrupted this train of thought one cool winter evening when they were sitting in his room, wrapped in a soft blanket, and eating chips. he asked if he could kiss viktoria. and he blushed really badly. the kiss was awkward: a little slobbery, there were crumbs everywhere, and they bumped noses a couple of times. but they were happy.
i think viktoria loves jayce. and jayce loves viktoria.

à©â© đŻđđđđ, đđđ'đđ đđđđđđđđ Ë°àż
â đđ đŠ đđđđ đ đ đđ đđđđ đđđđđ„. â
One second, Viktorâs coffee was on the table. The next, it was a dark brown puddle on the floor, and Jayce was staring down at him with a look that could only be compared to a puppy whoâs just been caught digging a hole in the garden.
âShit, dude, Iâm so sorry!â He exclaimed, and moments later, he scrambled to grab napkins from the dispenser on the counter.Â
Viktor, frozen in his seat, was unable to formulate a response outside of gaping like a fish out of water. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before settling on a quiet, âOh, itâs â itâs fine.â He shut his laptop and tucked it into his bag, standing up and reaching for his crutch.
Jayce was quick to wave him off, still looking almost comically guilty. âNah, donât worry about it. Iâve got it. Look, I can pay you back for the coffee, or ââ
âItâs alright.â Viktor assured with a shake of his head, picking up the sopping-wet napkins from his table and tossing them into the trash can. He leaned against his crutch, looking down at the man crouched on the floor. This was just his luck, wasnât it? The same man who was causing every single one of his crises at the moment, putting him in a situation where he had no choice but to carry on a conversation with him.
Jayce looked like he wanted to insist, but Viktorâs stubborn glare left no room for argument. He huffed a little, clearly frustrated, and returned to scrubbing the floor clean. He stood and dropped the rest of the napkins into the trash bin, rubbing the back of his neck with an awkward laugh.
âSorry again,â Jayce said, offering a hand to Viktor. âIâm Jayce.â
âReally, itâs fine,â Viktor insisted. He was still rooted to the floor, unable to come up with anything to say. He was pretty sure this was his worst nightmare. He forced himself to nod dumbly as the man introduced himself, taking Jayceâs hand and shaking it weakly. âViktor.â
The grin on Jayceâs face could best be described as dopey, and Viktor hated how much it made his heart race. âCool. Youâre in my physics class, right? Iâm about to head that way if you, uh⊠want to join me.â
Viktor blinked a few times, more than a little caught off-guard. He usually walked to his classes alone, but his first instinct was to agree. Jayce was already slinging his backpack over his shoulder, preparing to leave, and Viktor mumbled a barely-audible âsureâ before he could manage to talk himself out of it.
Jayce was, as heâd expected, nothing short of a chatterbox. His excited rambling seemed to stem from a fear of any sort of awkward silence, and surprisingly, Viktor found himself not minding it. He couldnât tell if he was feeling so tense because heâd become comfortable in his solitude, or because the familiarity of his dreams lingered at the back of his mind.
It took a while until there was a lull in the (rather one-sided) conversation about Jayceâs homework, and Viktor finally worked up the courage to ask some questions. âSo, what are you majoring in?â
âMechanical engineering,â Jayce responded, casting a sidelong glance at the shorter man beside him. âYou?â
âChemical engineering.â
Jayce hummed in acknowledgement, running a hand through his hair. The silence between them lingered for a long moment before he spoke up again. âDid you grow up in Piltover?â
âZaun.â Viktor responded curtly. Usually, the mention of Piltoverâs dilapidated sister city alone was enough to make anyone from the upper-class region want to switch topics. Jayce didnât seem to follow this trend, but it was clear that he was unsure of how to respond â Viktor wasnât surprised.
âOh. Thatâs⊠neat. Do you have any siblings?â
As frustrating as it was, Viktor didnât mind the subject change. Heâd rather not deal with the awkwardness that would come from discussing Piltover and Zaunâs deep divide. âNone. Do you?â
âNah,â Jayce answered, shaking his head. He kept stealing glances to the side, and though Viktor could tell he was attempting to be subtle, he was anything but. âItâs always just been me and my mom.â
Viktor couldnât help it; he found himself curious as to what Jayceâs family dynamic was like. He wanted to ask questions, to find out why he had only grown up with his mother, but the last thing he wanted was to push the man away so soon. So he nodded instead, reaching up with his free hand to brush a lock of hair off of his forehead.
As they approached the front doors of the building, Viktor shifted his crutch to reach out for the heavy glass door. Jayce beat him to it, though, pulling the door handle and propping it open with his foot. âIâve got it.â
Viktor nodded gratefully, murmuring a quiet âthanksâ to Jayce as he stepped into the hallway. He was thankful to see no trace of pity â something heâd grown contemptuously familiar with throughout his life â in Jayceâs gaze.
The door slammed shut behind them, cutting through the sudden silence that had fallen. They reached the lecture hall, and Viktor was fully prepared for their short conversation to end with a goodbye; if he was honest with himself, he wouldnât be shocked if they never spoke again. However, when he headed for his usual spot in the back row, Jayce trailed behind him and dropped his things in the space next to him.
Viktor cast a sidelong glance at him with a raised eyebrow as he sat down, but he looked away before Jayce could catch his confused expression. He didnât mind having Jayce next to him, of course, but he couldnât deny the fact that all he needed at the moment was some space to think.Â
His mind was foggy with dĂ©jĂ vu. The feeling of Jayceâs body next to his, combined with the infuriatingly familiar sound of his pen scratching against the paper of his notebook, created a tight sensation in his chest that heâd only ever experienced when waking up from his dreams about the lab.
Selfishly, though, Viktor almost wished his nighttimes werenât plagued by Jayce or their shared lab anymore. Yes, part of him wanted to get to the bottom of why he felt like heâd lived lifetimes with Jayce while only knowing him for a total of⊠what, twenty minutes now? The other part of him, though, longed to get to know Jayce as if they were complete strangers.
He huffed as he opened up his laptop, propping his chin in the palm of his hand. If this was what physics was going to be like from now on, he wasnât sure how he was going to survive it.
guys this is not a drill! the gays are finally interacting!!
on another note i am a big fat liar. i said this would be up by this weekend, but... i was really busy yesterday đ

Party For Two
Jayce x Viktor
A/N: More for my good ol' 2-part fics where readers choose how the fic continues. No tickles yet in this part but the continuation will have plenty for sure.
Summary: Viktor is stressed about work when Jayce comes into the lab with a bottle of alcohol and the suggestion to have some fun.
It was one of those nights. They had been hitting dead end after dead end in their latest research. On top of that, the Council of Piltover was pulling at Jayce in a way that did not help, keeping him out of the lab every moment they could get, just like they were doing tonight.
Viktor would be lying if he said he didn't mind that Jayce was getting busier lately. Struggling together was definitely better than struggling alone.
He just didn't feel like complaining. If the council needed Jayce, even if it was for silly parties for networking and socializing, who was Viktor to stop him from going?
"Viktor, please. Come with me this time."
He remembered how Jayce had practically begged him to come. But no. One of them abandoning their work to go drinking was bad enough. Council this, council that, Viktor didn't see it was important enough.
On top of that, he didn't even like such events. Jayce had claimed he didn't like them either, but still, that did not stop him from going. Fine then.
"Ugh!" Viktor sighed in frustration and he wiped the blackboard again. He knew that their work always came with ups and downs and yes, their Hextech inventions were already definitely 'getting there', as Mel would say frankly, but it wasn't enough. Maybe all Viktor needed to do right now was turn in for the night and continue tomorrow, less frustrated, less tired.
"I knew it. You're still here."
Viktor froze and turned to see Jayce enter. He sighed in relief, but then shook his head and watched him in confusion.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, eyeing him cautiously. Jayce giggled (?) and held up a bottle. Viktor doubted he took that with permission.
"You didn't want to join the party? Thought I'd bring the party to you! A party for two, just you and me. Let's have some fun," Jayce said.
Viktor felt a tingle, but he quickly looked away again to avoid Jayce's gaze. Judging from the way Jayce was walking and talking, he was a little tipsy like he often was after attending events like this. Viktor understood why; as a scientist among officials and whatnot, he would also feel more at ease after a drink or two, which was why he would choose not to attend such occasions.
"This is no time for parties, Jayce," Viktor said firmly, feeling both flustered and slightly annoyed. Glad that Jayce abandoned the party early to be with him again, annoyed that, well... He was acting like this.
"It's no time for work either," Jayce sang. Pfft. He should hear himself. Jayce was often one to work all night too.
He did a merry walk in Viktor's direction, swaying a little as if he were dancing to some jazzy music, until he stood right next to Viktor. He handed him the bottle.
"Here, you look like you could use a drink. Straight from the bottle."
Viktor glared at him. "No?" There was literally no reason to indulge him right now.
"Are you suuure?" Jayce nudged him with the bottle.
"Yes," Viktor replied stiffly. Jayce nudged him again, this time with his shoulder. When Viktor didn't respond he leaned in, a little too close, begging for attention like a little child, and he mumbled huskily in Viktor's ear: "Last chance."
"I don't want to drink, Jayce."
Jayce hummed. "Boo, alright then. All for me I guess."
Viktor gulped when Jayce brought the bottle to his own mouth. No way he wouldn't. Never mind. He would. Barely spilling any, Jayce drank thirstily. Was he crazy?
For a moment he thought Jayce was pranking him. That couldn't be alcohol in there - but then he noted the familiar smell of wine. Unbelievable. Viktor reached for the bottle to stop him and then paused.
Jayce was an adult, he should know better. If he wanted to get drunk here like a wild irresponsible youngster, was it up to Viktor to play his mom now? Who knows, he might even get some entertainment from it. He had seen Jayce tipsy before, but never drunk.
On the other hand, being drunk could mean several things depending on each person, and he did not have the energy to drag Jayce to bed and potentially clean up his vomit.

synop: you and vik get caught âmessing aroundâ in the lab by jayce; who surprisingly wants to join in on the fun.
wc: 1.8k
includes: straight smut, p w/o p, fem!reader, jayce x reader x viktor, slight vöyeurism, oral (m receiving), slight dirty talk, threesome, bottom!viktor
extra: part 2 is here! reblogs are appreciated <3
âdonât worry,â you whisper, fingers twirling along a red tie before smoothing down the front of viktorâs vest. âi sent jayce out on an errand run and he wonât be back for a little bit. just enjoy this v.â you add with a hum.
viktor looks up through his pretty lashes at you. he leans back against his desk, practically sits on top of it to keep weight off of his leg, as you two stand inside of the lab. he had been working far too hard recently and the only way you could keep him distracted long enough not to think about anything involving his work was to pleasure him. it was the same way trying to get him to sleep every once and awhile, when he would sneak into your room. you had never suggested doing it in the lab thoughâŠand the thought thrilled you just as much as it thrilled him; even if he thought it was a terrible idea.
âw-we shouldnât. not here in the lab and what ifââ viktor mumbles but his words end in a soft gasp as your fingers begin to untuck his shirt from his pants.
âviktor,â you chirp as you fall to your knees in front of him, unbuttoning the front of his pants and pulling them down ever so slightly. âyou need to take a break. be a good boy and just relax.â
your fingers are just grabbing the hem of his underwear when the door to the lab is being thrown open and jayceâs large figure enters the room. âhey, i was looking for this thing you asked for but iââ jayce had begun to speak, his eyes pointed down as he entered the room, before he finally looked up and caught the two of his friends in the act.
you freeze in your spot, eyes widening as you stare at jayce from the floor. a scarlet red blush is spreading across your face, you can feel the heat on your cheeks in an instant and youâre sure you match not only jayceâs shocked face but viktorâs as well; and you canât even bring yourself to look up at him. you probably stay like that for a little longer than you shouldâve until jayce clears his throat and you and viktor alike scramble from each other.
âwe!â you start as you stand up straight and as quick as you possibly can. âwait itâs not what it looks like! we were uh just uhmââ you ramble before looking at viktor to help dig both of you out of this hole. but heâs busied himself with trying to zip his pants back up, making it far more obvious if it hadnât been already. you sigh, turning your face off to the side to stare at a small spot on the floor, unable to look jayce in the eye.
âdoâŠyou do this often?â jayceâs voice cuts through the built up silence in the room like a knife.
you shake your head quickly but viktor speaks up for you instead. ânever in the lab.â he mutters.
âitâs unprofessional, we get it, letâs just drop it and forget thisââ you begin to add but the sound of the door closing with a lock interrupts your rambling. when you finally bring your gaze to jayce, his eyes are soft but clear in their intentions. and it was his turn to no longer be able to look at the two of you.
âcan iâŠwatch?â he whispers under his breath.
and with three little words, everything changes between all three of you.
now, jayce leans against the labâs desk as viktor leans back against his chest. jayâs strong hands fully support viktor as youâve returned to your spot in front of him. you had never in your life thought jayce might have been interested in whatever you and viktor had going on. maybe you just assumed he already had a lover and never brought it up again. but now his hazel eyes stare down at you, just as viktorâs amber eyes also watch you, both with a hunger to their eye. it almost made you nervous, being watched, but your fingers once again hook around viktorâs underwear and pull down, ignoring the jitters that hum under your skin.
your hand wraps around vikâs semi hard cock and you give it a soft tug, rubbing right up the shaft until the tip. there was a new feeling in the air around all 3 of you. breaths being held, eyes watching ever so closely, the slight tremble to your hand. it had been different when it was just the two of you enjoying midnight meetings but now with jayce there tooâŠit felt far more scandalous and naughty.
âtell me what it feels like.â jayce whispers, purposely placing his chin into the crook of viktorâs neck, as his hands slowly run up along vikâs chest.
your own hand continues to move against viktorâs shaft, stroking him slowly up and down, moving to press your lips against his head.
âmmph, her fingers are a little cold,â viktor replies with a low groan. his chest rising and falling in quicker succession as he begins to get turned on. âbut it feels good.â he adds. and his honesty makes you smile a little.
you move your hand faster in return to his praise. trailing your fingers along his head, pressing your thumb into the slit of his cöck, where heâs growing sensitive and causing him to gasp softly. you take the moment to lean forward and capture the head of his cock inside of your mouth. drinking in the sight of viktorâs eyes fluttering, his fingers tightening onto whatever he can grasp, as your mouth wraps around him.
âkeep going viktor.â jayce instructs as you watch him place hot, heavy kisses against vikâs throat. one of his hands groping his thin chest and waist.
âw-warm! itâs so warm and wet,â vik breaks. heâs fully hard now as you suck on his head, making him whimper at the feeling. âfeelsâahâreally good.â he adds with a groan as his eyes return to watching you.
you can feel his thighs tighten as you swallow more of his cöck, continuing to use your hand to stroke up to your lips. you watch every expression that crosses viktorâs face along with jayceâs fingers that slowly begin to take off his vest. strips him of his vest and then works on unbuttoning his brown shirt underneath.
jayce keeps laying hot kisses along the back of his neck and on his throat, slumped over and threatening to swallow all of viktorâs thin frame.
the sight makes you somewhat giddy and excited to see what jayce does. but it never distracts you from making viktor feel good as well. sucking a little harder, spit bubbling up at the sides of your lips as you sink further down onto his lengthy shaft. your eyes are almost falling close to help you focus as you swallow more and more of him, but jayceâs voice catches your attention once again.
âshe looks so pretty like that, doesnât she, vik? makinâ you feel so good.â he whispers against just as pretty, pale skin. his words cause vik to stutter, hips lifting up and forcing you to swallow the rest of him. and you do so with ease.
you truly wouldnât have guessed jayce was so good at dirty talk but you welcomed any surprises at this point. viktor simply whines in response, head hanging low, gaze still on you as you continue your routine of sucking him off.
jayce stands to his full height then, hanging over viktor just enough so he could turn his face and capture his lips. viktorâs eyes widen in response but he does nothing to stop jayce; no, instead heâs melting into the kiss. you watch with eager curiosity as their tongues clash together, jayce easily winning in the battle of dominance, as one big hand of his moves up to gently caress viktorâs throat.
fuck, was it hot watching them. you can feel your pussy throbbing at the sight just as you can feel yourself growing wet against your panties. you squeeze your thighs together, slipping a hand down below to press your fingers into your core. the best you can through the pants you wear for the moment but the pressure is enough to make you groan. you move your lips faster along viktorâs shaft, sucking harsher and sloppier to bring him closer to his end.
the change of pace and jayceâs tongue surely has viktor coming undone quicker than usual. for he breaks the kiss with a harsh whine. âiâm close!â vik gasps, tossing his head back onto jayceâs shoulder.
jayce presses a quick kiss against his jaw before his hazel eyes return to watch you suck viktor off. his eyes are hazy and full of lust as he fixes his intense stare on what you do; which makes you shiver with newfound pleasure under his sight. his strong gaze makes you press your fingers into your pussy once again, seeking any form of satisfaction you could get for the moment.
âlook viktor,â jayce instructs as his hand smooths over viktorâs lower abdomen. âsheâs touching herself.â
viktorâs breath hitches in his throat but he moves his own lust filled gaze down to stare at you. with both of them returning to stare at you, you palm yourself harder through your pants. moving your hips in sync to every bob of your head, needy and desperate as things evolve, all the while you moan around vikâs cock.
itâs all too much for viktor as his hips lift and he thrusts wildly into your mouth. âgoing toâ!â he cries softly, body tightening, throwing his full weight back against jayce.
but jayce is quicker. one hand grabs your hair and pulls you off of vikâs twitching cock before he takes his hand and wraps it around where your mouth had just left. âstick out your tongue. i wanna see the mess he makes all over your face.â he grunts, pumping his fist quickly along vikâs entire shaft. his hand is much bigger than yours and it wraps entirely around viktor with ease, and it makes vik lose all control he mightâve pretended to have.
but you do as your told and swiftly stick your tongue out to catch whatever you can. all it takes is viktor staring at your tongue and jayceâs hand jerking him off to finish his orgasm. viktor forces himself to watch as he comes, fingers grasping and gripping onto anything he can thatâs near him as he tumbles over the edge with a sharp cry.
your name, along with jayceâs name, leaves viktorâs lips in a pathetic whimper as he comes. can feel the sticky substance coat your tongue, cheek, and chin with each rope jayce rubs out of him. all the while viktor and jayce watch as he makes a mess across your lips and face, never once looking anywhere else.
not until vik is completely spent, limp against jayce who holds him up effortlessly. the only noise now in the room is the shared panting between all three of you. you lick your lips, trying to clean yourself up just a little, before it was your turn to break the silence.
âletâs keep going.â

â[arcane preference] founding out you were injured in crossfireâ
Since I've created a Bluesky profile and wrote my thesis on Arcane, I'll be posting both old and new drawings there as soon as the time comes. I'm taking advantage of this little space to promote my other social account. honey-tongued.bsky.social Also, I've received both comments and requests, but Tumblr decided I couldnât post for a week (my internet connection is terrible). I want to let you know that I appreciate them, and I'll get to everything as soon as I can. So, feel free to leave comments, feedback, or requests!
Jayce:Â
- This is the worst news he could receive: he's a scholar, he has no idea how to handle these situations, and, most of all, he's forced to confront his pride. Â
- Not only was he unable to protect you now, but what if it happens again? Even if he's there, he wouldn't know what to do. Â
- What if there's a next time? What if it doesn't turn out as well next time? Â
- His self-sabotage leads him to distance himself from you for a few days, not because he doesn't want to be near you while you're hurting, but because he's ashamed of not being able to protect the person he loves. Â
- On the bright side, for even just a second, he remembers the original purpose of his research: making the city safe, helping people. Â
- But on the negative side, with no one to blame, more than ever, the people of Zaun appear to him as beasts, second-class humans who can't be redeemed in any way. Â
- When he finally gathers the courage to see you again, he tries to make amends for everything: for not protecting you, for not being able to, for allowing someone to hurt you, and for not being there during your recovery. Â
- He'll literally do anything to be forgiven: every morning you'll find breakfast in bed, if it's cold at night he'll prepare a warmer for your feet, and despite his squeamishness, he'll personally tend to your wounds, even if it makes him feel queasy.
Viktor:
- He tries to help you in every way possible, even ignoring his own pain. Â
- He feels sadness, regrets that you went out alone and ended up in such a situation. He can't help but imagine the fear you must have felt, the confusion, and the loneliness when the guards intervened, and you woke up alone in the hospital. Â
- He may be a scholar, but first and foremost he's a man with a moral code, and secondly, he's from Zaun: if he has any work, appointments, or lectures, he'll skip them all, maybe muttering a few insults in his thick accent at the most insistent people, and make up for it at night. Â
- Plans, ideas, codes, anything â but he won't leave you alone unless you ask him to. Â
- He takes care of you meticulously, respecting schedules, bringing you meals in bed, changing your bandages until your skin heals, and you're able to stand on your own again. Â
- He doesn't mind helping you â as a chronically ill person who refuses others' help, he's learned to do everything on his own, and he's almost happy that his skills can be useful to someone else.
Ekko:
- Is it something totally normal in the lanes? Yes. Â
- Does this stop Ekko from panicking? No. Â
- He's the one who finds you and brings you to the others, but he doesn't want, nor can he afford, to be seen panicking. So, he swallows his despair and tries to act as normal as possible while ten other people rush to help you. Â
- His face remains expressionless as the most skilled remove debris, clean the wound, stitch your torn flesh, and bandage you, but his foot keeps tapping the floor with force and speed, revealing his anxiety. Â
- When the others insist that it's best you stay in the makeshift infirmary, he tries not to protest, but suddenly every moment of the day becomes an excuse to pass by: to bring you stolen sweets from Piltover, to tell you about some expedition, maybe even steal a kiss or fall asleep leaning against your mattress. Â
- It's an overwhelming fear, but the fear of losing you makes him unable to think rationally, and all he feels is how much he misses you, even while you're right there with him.
Vander:
- A crossfire from the other side of the river was already a big enough provocation to alert him and prepare to defend the city or, if absolutely necessary, to strike back. Â
- But you, as an accidental victim, are a huge problem. Â
- He doesnât have the heart to pull away from you, and when he does, he canât help but feel frustrated, angry at himself, knowing he hasnât been able to keep his city under control like he promisedâto you, to Piltover, to everyone. Â
- Heâll ask for your forgiveness by kissing the scarred skin every day, even if you insist itâs not his fault, and if you remember even one of the faces, heâll go and handle the problem. Â
- Not with violence, unless necessary, but itâs not about personal justice; rather, itâs about protecting the other citizens of the alleys too. Â
- Even after youâve healed, heâll insist itâs absolutely necessary to carry you everywhere you need to go, claiming a very good doctor told him so. Â
- And the memory of the scar will be tiny compared to all the marks Vander has left on you. Â
Silco:
- Private justice is absolutely the first option, even though you were an accidental victim. Â
- Heâll call all his goons and associates for a meeting while youâre still bedridden, to see if theyâve heard, seen, or been involved in any armed conflict, and if he doesnât get a face or a name from them, heâll turn to the brothel, the house of all information, Â
- Until he finds who hurt you and makes sure they canât do it again. Â
- Silco isnât fazed by blood or open wounds, but despite having enough experience to handle it himself, at least on the first day, heâll take you to Singed to make sure youâre in the best condition. Â
- In the following days, heâll take care of you himself, but he has pride, a façade, and little emotional communication skills, so he wonât openly show how worried he is, relying entirely on the fact that you donât know about the murder of your assailant and remember nothing of the visit to Singed. Â
- But the only reason you heal so well and so quickly is that, even if he doesnât know how to express it, all the love he feels is poured into the care he gives you. Â
Jinx:
- Flashbacks. So many. Too many. Â
- At some point, sheâll even convince herself that sheâs the one who shot you, leading to a complete breakdown. Â
- She punches her head, scratches herself without realizing it, her nose bleeds, and her eyes are bloodshot. Â
- It takes her a while to convince herself that she wasnât the one who shot you, even though the hallucinations overlap images of you with memories of her armed, creating waking nightmares that feel increasingly real. Â
- As much as sheâd like to ask her father for help, even just to give you a cleaner room, she feels responsible and is too scared that if she stays away from you, youâll forget her. Thatâs why she sets up a little space for you and takes care of you herself, though not always painlessly. Â
- Sheâs pulled bullets out of her own body more times than not after missions; what might seem like dangerous, delicate work to someone else is almost routine for her by now. Â
- Once she has a suspicion of who might have done it, sheâll make sure they learn their lesson.Â
Â
Vi:
- Anger. Â
- Why were you out alone? Why didnât you leave as soon as you saw the crowd getting too big? Why were you in that area? Â
- But her anger is just panic pouring out like a flood, the fear of not being able to protect the one she loves twists her stomach, making her feel like she might throw up, like sheâs dying inside. Â
- None of those questions mean she blames you, but she doesnât know how to feel, what to think, or even what to do. Â
- Sheâll do everything to help youâbandaging you, cleaning your wounds, staying silent and giving her full attention to make up for not being there when you needed her, even though thatâs not true. Â
- And when the scar forms, sheâll kiss it every single day, every single night, like a little ritual between the two of you. Â
Caitlyn:
- Safety first. Â
- Sheâll be the one to assess how bad the injury is, and if there are any foreign objects in your body, thereâs a good chance sheâll try to handle it herself, even though at first it might seem a bit barbaric. Â
- Sheâll give you the guest room and call the family doctor to make sure youâre okay, that you donât need anything else, and sheâll take care of whatâs necessary, even teasing you a bit to hide her worry. Â
- "A bullet in the leg from being caught in crossfire? Very vintage, I must say."Â Â
- What you wonât know is that sheâll quietly increase security, not in an oppressive way, but just enough to make both you and the other citizens feel safer. Â
- Her family wonât get involved directly, but they wonât stop her either. Sometimes Cassandra herself will make sure her daughter finds the tray to bring up to you, though sheâll never be too open about it. Â
- The perfect rehabilitation? Long walks in the villaâs garden, so you can stop for some cookies or tea when you get tired. Â
Mel:
- Flashbacks, but less personal than Jinxâs. Â
- Her mother would call her weak if she knew how it kills her to see someone barely scratched by crossfire, and that realization soon turns into frustration, which then becomes anger. Â
- She tries to stay calm, but her voice sounds like sheâs scolding you, and then like sheâs scolding the servants, or anyone else who crosses her path. Â
- Two hours of lecture if youâre luckyâwhy you shouldnât go out without a guard, why you shouldnât put yourself in dangerous situations, why the enforcers are utterly useless and canât find anyone responsible, even though the fight was so intense. Â
- Sheâll focus entirely on the bureaucratic side because little Mel was never taught how to deal with strong emotions, and sheâs definitely feeling them now but canât afford that vulnerability, even though she knows youâre safe. Â
- She wonât take care of you herself, but sheâll always stay in the room. Not because she doesnât want to, to be clear, but because she wants you to have the best care possible and prefers to leave it to a top professional rather than her inexperienced hands. Â
- In return, sheâll triple the amount of affection and caressesâmore to calm herself than you, but you wonât be the one to complain. Â
Sevika:
- She needs a moment. Â
- She knows she has to report to Silco that there was a firefight, that someone is threatening the people, but part of her just wants to grab those responsible and crush their heads with her bare hands, doing both you and her boss a favor. Yet, another part of her doesnât want to leave you alone or take you with her. Â
- She knows how to handle these things; sheâs lost an arm, and Silcoâs goons often come back in worse shape, which is why sheâll take care of you herself, in complete silence. Â
- Sheâll wait until youâre asleep to place a water bottle, a glass, some painkillers, and some bread on the nightstand next to your bed. And when sheâs sure youâre fully asleep, sheâll leave a soft kiss on your forehead before putting on her cloak and heading out to the Last Drop. Â
- There, sheâll release her anger in a brawl or two, talk to her boss, and search for the reason why she feels so awful at the bottom of her third glass of whiskey. Â

Arcane x Ransom! Reader
Summary: How would the Arcane characters react if the reader was held for ransom?
Characters: Jinx/Powder, Violet "Vi", Caitlyn Kiramman, Viktor, Jayce Talis, Sevika, Silco and Licker (mention).
Warning: Slight cursing and suggestive themes/implied sexual themes.
A/N: I literally got the idea for this request from Helluva Boss, particular episode 6 of season 2. I hope you all enjoy this though, I know I did!
Powder/Jinx
âYou have who?! Where are they?!⊠You want me to pay you for them? Oh Iâll pay you alright!â
Jinx doesnât take the idea of you getting hurt lightly. She already is super overprotective of her little trinket, so when she heard that you were being held for a price, she wasted no time grabbing Pow-Pow, Zapper and a bunch of chompers to aid her in her âheroic rescueâ for her princess/prince. As soon as she is where you are held, you donât have to see her to know sheâs there for you. Donât expect any talking, just laughter and hollers followed by gunfire, screams for mercy and explosions.
Before you know it, the Loose Cannon is standing in front of you, pulling you into the tightest hug ever and dressing your face with kisses. She will ask you countless questions while freaking out, beating herself up over you being in such a position. But when she feels you touch her and assure her youâre okay, sheâs on cloud nine. As soon as she laces the area with bombs to blow it to kingdom come, sheâs back at her hideout, being super affectionate and touchy the entire night. Donât expect anyone to be touching you for months unless they want their head blown off.
Violet âViâ
â⊠What?⊠You⊠You just pissed off the wrong woman.â
First word that you were kidnapped, Vi wasted no time hunting your captors down and beating them to a bloody pulp. The woman is like a bull seeing red knowing you were somewhere cold and scared away from home and her arms. So until you were back to her, anyone was able to get a personal greeting from the pink haired fighter. Vi is pretty merciful, but in situations like this, she isnât afraid to push the envelope by giving life threatening injuries to the bastards that hurt you.
When she found you, she didnât bother asking any questions or giving any money to your kidnappers, unless they counted a mouthful of fists and kicks as payment enough. When sheâs done with her punishment, sheâll immediately scoop you into her arms and take the both of you back home, where she checks you for injuries and asks if you are okay. Please comfort her. She may act all tough and cool, but the situation scared her due to thinking she lost you just like everyone else. As soon as she knows you are alright, sheâll promise no one will ever do that to you again.
Caitlyn Kiramman
âYou kidnapped Y/N? Why would- Who do you think you are? You better let them go right now!â
Caitlyn was used to people being kidnapped on the job, having to save them or negotiate with criminals for their safety. But she would have never imagined such a thing happening to you of all people. When she was told you were being held for ransom, she understandably panicked before taking deep breaths and thinking of how to get you back to her. The enforcer can easily scrounge up the money for you to be freed, because you were more important than any coin that reaches her pockets.
So when she arranges a meeting with your kidnappers and finds you so scared, she finds it hard to stop herself from grabbing you and making a run for it. If the kidnappers pull a fast one on her though, all bets are off and bullets are flying. When she has you back, she will watch you like a hawk and be on the defensive for a while. But if you assure her enough that you are okay, she will lighten up. On the bright side, after the incident sheâs more romantic and spends more time with you in and out of work.
Viktor
âLook, Iâm sure we can talk about this. Iâll get you the money, just. Please donât hurt themâŠâ
Viktor beat himself up when he heard you were taken away from him for monetary purposes. He just doesnât understand how he would let this happen- How he would let someone easily take you under his nose and put you in harmâs way?! He couldâve waddled in his sorrows, but he couldnât. He had to save you and he had to act fast! It would hurt him, but he would ask for assistance from Jayce and the council if he can. And if they canât help him? Well. Maybe it was time to break out those so-called dangerous machines Heimerdinger warned him against using.
When he finds you, heâs wasting no time trying to negotiate a way around matters so you could be freed. And if those negotiations donât go according to plan, then heâll use his machinery and his brain to outsmart the criminals into freeing you. When you are back together, heâll just. Hold you. Like you are a precious gemstone. Heâll promise you this will never happen again. No one will ever lay their hands on you againâŠ
Jayce Talis
âIs this supposed to scare me? If anything, you should be the one scared- Do you know who I am?!â
Jayce does not take threats lightly, especially when it comes to his family, friends and his loved ones. As soon as he was told you were held for Ransom, he let his anger and determination to get you back fuel him to do anything to send a message and bring you back to safety. You will immediately know your boyfriend got the message because in a matter of hours, enforcers are barging into the area you were held like they were entering a war, shooting, punching and slamming anyone who got in their way from their goal; You.
And Jayce is in the middle of it all, swinging his hammer without remorse before running to your rescue as your knight in shining armor. As soon as you grab his hand, heâs walking you back to his place casually through the enforcers destroying everything in their sights and leaving a message for the assholes that took you; Never. Ever. Touch the councilmanâs lover. Donât expect to go anywhere without guards following you if Jayce isnât, whether you want to or not. Jayce just canât take the chance for you to be taken again. Is it extreme? Yes. But it was worth it.
Sevika
âRansom? Seriously? Please, thatâs nothing. And Iâm about to show you why.â
When it comes to ransom, Sevika wasnât new to having her friends or past lovers be kidnapped for money. So when she heard you were being held hostage, she casually grabbed her poncho, fixed her arm for a brawl and headed outside to round her co-workers up. When she found you and the ones that took you, she wasted no time kicking in the doors and sicking her co-workers on everyone before she made her way towards you after knocking some skulls in. Sheâll ask if you are okay and especially check you for any injuries before grabbing you and joking how you found yourself in this predicament.
The fight rages on as soon as she places you outside for safety. Saving you wasnât enough. No, she needed everyone to know that when someone messes with you, they have to deal with her and the rest of Zaun. When everything is over and done, Sevika will take you both back home and treat any injuries you want before kissing your cheek and simply talking as if you werenât kidnapped to begin with. If you think she doesnât care, then hoo boy. The way sheâll treat you that night in bed will make you think otherwise.
Silco
âHmm⊠If I were you, Iâd beg for mercy when I get thereâŠâ
Silco is never one to be threatened because heâs always the one making the threats. Hearing about you being held for Ransom made him immediately go on the move to round up Sevika to follow him in bringing you back to him. If he gets there and doesnât find you anywhere, he will deliver a silent signal to bring the house down. But if you are present, then he wonât need violence to be delivered by his Right Hand. Heâll just need to put the fear of gods into your kidnapper.
Heâll paint them a picture of how heâll find their families and let them listen to the melody of their bones breaking. How heâll have Licker carve paintings into their bodies and let them choke on their own blood as they beg for mercy. What do they think of that? They wouldnât like that at all. As a matter of fact, they would hate it so much that they would release you and fade from existence right there. As soon as you are back to Silco, heâs going to take you back home as if this was only a minor inconvenience. But as soon as you two are behind closed doors, he canât help from keeping his hands to himself and make promises against your skin.
If you have any requests for Arcane, X-Men '97 or Blue Eye Samurai, send them my way!

Iâd die for you.
Viktor:
âIâd die for you.â
âPlease donât.â He says almost pleading with you to reconsider after hearing you say such a thing, to be willing to trade off your own life for his own that was already on borrowed time, so wouldnât your sacrifice be a waste if he was bound to die regardless?
He came from the undercity where loss was an constant occurrence and survival was the norm. So the idea of loosing you wasnât one heâd warmly welcome nor want to endure as heâd only bury himself deep within his work, going to such lengths with the off chance that he could theoretically bring you back from the cold embrace of death,
âYouâve got so much ahead of you Viktor.â You countered. âSo much to do to achieve your goal of helping others!â You add.
Viktor moves to look at you from his workplace with a raised brow. âAnd so you automatically think your life is forfeit in comparison because of this?â He asks as if to show you just how ridiculous it was to just throw your life away because you believed his dreams for the future outweighed the worth of that of your own life.
You stayed quiet as you could see the disbelief clear within his amber eyes as he grabbed his cane and made his way over to you to hold your hand in his long, slender and calloused ones as they caress the back of your knuckles. âFor itâs not. No life is more important than the others solely based on what the person can give to others.â Viktor tells you as sits himself down next to you.
âOur lives are of equal value and Iâd would much rather youâd live for me instead.â He says with a small smile. âDo you think you can do that for me?â He then asks softly, intertwining your fingers together. You smiled back at him. âI can sure try as long as you do too.â You replied and Viktor let out a sigh of relief, squeezing your hand in thanks.
âThen we shall live for each other.â Viktor said but little did you know that heâd be lying and he wasnât going to be staying very soon.
Ekko:
âIâd gladly die for you.â
âNo, you wont.â Those words mightâve come out more harsher than Ekko wanted but he wasnât about to let you joke about trading your life for his own. He just wouldnât.
Even now the idea of you being the self sacrificial hero made him feel slightly sick to his stomach. He was the one who should be protecting you, protecting everybody really and once his mind was made up Ekko was more or less an immovable object, never yielding and never budging from his ideals for nothing.
So to say he wasnât liking the idea of you dying on him was an understatement. He didnât like it for a plethora of reasons as heâs already lost enough people close to his heart, he wasnât willing to have you be amongst them, painted on the mural by his own hand as he feels the guilt and grief eat away at his heart. âPromise me you wonât be reckless the next time weâre out on a mission.â He gives you his pinky, something you two did when you were being serious about things.
âEkko-â
âPromise me you wonât.â Ekko cuts you off in desperation, his eyes wide and his breathing becoming rapid and uneven the longer you didnât immediately link pinkies with him like you usually did, it had him feeling as though his heart had dropped to his stomach. âI donât want to loose another person I love.â He adds and you interlock your pinkies with him before being pulled into his strong embrace where he buried his face into yours neck, not wanting to let go of you after hearing that statement leave your mouth.
âIâm not ready to say goodbye to you just yet.â He whispered into your neck, grip tightening on you as he feels you rub his back soothingly. Ekko wasnât ready for the day heâd have to say goodbye to you and so until that day heâll keep protecting you until he couldnât anymore, for heâd rather see you move on forward without him, but if he knew you as well as he did then you would just be equally as stubborn to see him live another day.
So heâll just keep ahold of you like this everyday when you were alone just to remind himself that you were still here and here you will stay.
Silco (young) :
âIâd die for you.â
âDonât say such things, havenât we suffered enough?â Heâd say as he has you by your shoulders, his grip tightening in tandem with the idea of possibly loosing you to all sorts of things, whether itâd be Zaun or the corrupt enforcers from topside. Silco wasnât exactly willing to lose the greatest thing that had ever happened to him.
It was a day heâd never wish to see pass him by as he didnât know what he would do should he find you dead in the rubble from a something that was purposely intended for him, heâd blame himself and be left to seek solitude in the darkness and shadows should that ever be the case.
âBut itâs true.â Youâd reply.
Silco grits his teeth at your stubbornness but it was one of your defining traits that he deeply adored. âWell Iâm not going to allow it.â He retorted. âI wonât allow you to hastily throw your life away just because you felt like being a hero.â He practically spat out the last part as though it were poison. Hero what the hell has being a hero ever done for anyone? Nothing thatâs what and Silco would refused you at every time you got like this, not once liking the implications it left within his head.
âNot a hero, just someone who cares enough about another person to be willing to see them keep living, even if it means dying in the process.â You defended yourself, crossing your arms over your chest as you continued to look him in the eyes to prove your words true, but you didnât need to do that for Silco knew well enough you were a person of your word, never once going back on it when you probably shouldâve.
âHeroes donât exist in Zaun.â Silco said as he rests his head against yours, looking you in the eyes. âSo donât try and be the first for I donât want to be the one to make your mural. Donât make me have to leave you behind. Donât make me mourn for what we couldâve had.â He pleads with you as you gently hold his face and caress his cheeks, allowing him the chance to rest his eyes and drink you in through your touch.
He didnât like the idea of you dying before him, not one bit, so heâll try and make sure that you survive together long enough to see the betterment of Zaun.

Dance
Viktor x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 3k
Jayce has a plan: convince Viktor to attend the most important charity party in Piltover. But, as expected, Viktor refuses. What he didn't expect was that his assistant would show up at his workshop with a dazzling dress⊠and an invitation that Jayce secretly gave her. Could he really refuse now?
N/A: English is not my first language, feel free to correct me in the comments and I'll update it. Remember share if you liked it.
Viktor was focused, hunched over his desk as he fine-tuned one of the delicate pieces of hexcore. The dim lamplight illuminated his tired face, with dark circles under his eyes and strands of hair falling across his forehead. He didnât notice Jayceâs entrance until the echo of the door closing resonated through the workshop.
âViktor, old friend,â Jayce said, his tone bright and already foreshadowing trouble. âI have news.â
âIf it has to do with that charity party, the answer is still no,â Viktor replied without looking at him, adjusting the tool in his hand.
Jayce sighed dramatically, dropping his weight into one of the nearby chairs.
âMel has insisted that we go. We represent the future of Piltover, remember? Innovators, role modelsâŠâ Jayce made a wide gesture with his hands, as if he were giving a speech.
âIf Mel insists, you can represent us alone,â Viktor replied indifferently. He knew he wasnât really required here, inviting him was just a formality. Then he looked up and looked at him seriously. âI donât have time for parties, thereâs a lot of work to finish here.â
Not to mention that dancing was something he had crossed off the list of things he could still do.
His friend really wanted Viktor to go, mostly because he had been very down lately, he barely left the lab and there were days where he would find him with his face on his notebooks after falling asleep at some point in the early morning, he was the first to arrive and the last to leave, if he ever did.
Jayce watched him in silence for a moment, before giving him a sly smile.
âOkay, I understand. You canât just drop your projects. But what if I gave you a reason to go?â
Viktor frowned, distrusting his tone.
âWhat kind of reason?
Jayce didn't answer. Instead, his smile widened as he glanced towards the door of the workshop, as if he was waiting for something. He had recently discovered what he thought was a clue to the kind of feelings Viktor had for you, the long longing glances, the little smiles, the casual approaches of his hands, he answering any of your curiosities and letting you sing soft melodies while he worked were all very obvious clues to his eyes. Viktor followed the direction of his gaze just as the door opened.
And there you were.
Viktor felt the air leave his lungs. You werenât wearing your usual practical attire. Instead, you were sporting an elegant iridescent white dress that flowed like water with your every move. The color perfectly complemented your skin tone, and the design highlighted your figure in a way Viktor couldnât ignore. Your hair was delicately arranged, and a glint in your eyes suggested you was nervous, yet excited.
âY/N?â Viktor asked, still processing what he was seeing.
You gave him a shy, yet warm smile.
âJayce invited me as your date,â you said, your tone a mix of apology and expectation. âI hope you donât mind.â
Viktor slowly turned to Jayce, who now wore an expression of unabashed triumph.
âWhat have you done?â Viktor asked, his voice low, but laced with disbelief.
âI gave you a reason to go,â Jayce replied, raising his hands in an innocent gesture. âI knew you wouldnât accept if there wasnât something⊠or someone to make the evening interesting for you.â
Viktor felt his face heat up as his thoughts struggled to organize themselves. Of course he felt a certain special affection for you. It had been a secret he had jealously kept, even from himself, and he had refrained from dwelling on it too much, after all they were coworkers. But now, seeing you there, so beautiful, waiting for his answer, completely disarmed him.
âYou donât have to if you donât want to, Viktor,â you said softly. âI just thought it would be⊠nice.â
Viktorâs heart skipped a beat. There was something in your tone that made him immediately doubt his usual refusal. For the first time in a long time, the idea of ââgetting away from his work, even for a few hours, didnât seem so far-fetched. Mostly because he didnât seem able to wipe that beautiful smile off your face by refusing. His mind searched for excuses for himself, to justify that he had now changed his mind, and that this change had nothing to do with you.
Finally, he stood up with the help of his staff, running a hand through his messy hair, although it didn't help much.
"If you insistâŠ" he murmured, looking at you more than at Jayce. "I suppose I can make an exception."
Jayce smiled widely.
"Perfect. Now, change. You can't go dressed like that."
Viktor let out a resigned sigh as he took the suitcase that Jayce had left with his suit, in another attempt to convince him, but he couldn't stop a small smile from appearing on his lips as he headed to the bathroom to change.
When he left he felt a little silly, he tried to arrange his hair in front of the mirror but it was totally impossible. Jayce see proudly that his plan had paid off, but the most important look for Viktor and the one he looked for as soon as he opened the door was yours. He watched your pupils dilate rapidly as you saw him come out in that elegant suit. Your hands went to your mouth trying to hide a smile. Viktor forced himself to look away to avoid them seeing the small blush that ran across his pale cheeks.
âOh! I almost forgot.â You quickly went to open one of the tool cabinets, rummaging through the back with the curious gaze of the boys behind you. After a moment, you pulled out a small box, and as if you were a little girl skipping, you approached Viktor with it. âI hope you like it.â
Viktor looked at you in surprise as he took the delicate box in his hands. He opened it delicately to discover a maroon tie between the strands of paper. His gaze traveled from the gift to you several times before giving you a warm smile as he took the tie between his slender fingers.
âWould you have the honor?â You nodded with a smile, as your hands took the tie you got closer to him, managing to smell the coffee aroma that you loved so much, you brought the tie behind his neck inside the collar of his shirt and tied it perfectly over his chest. âThank you.â
The evening was everything Viktor had expected: lavish, loud, and filled with Piltoverâs elites. Laughter and lively conversation echoed between walls adorned with gilded chandeliers and silk curtains. Viktor had always considered these events a waste of time.
When they arrived, Viktor could barely take his eyes off you. Jayce had already gone after the councilwoman, leaving them alone, as Viktor knew he would. His discomfort was evident in the way his hands played with the handle of his cane, which he tried to hide as soon as he began to walk through the crowd. You seemed to radiate confidence with every step, politely greeting the other attendees, as if these events were common for you.
Viktor, however, felt out of place. He held his cane tighter than usual, trying not to trip, but it was difficult given the state of his leg and the huge crowd.
âRelax,â you whispered with a reassuring smile as you tangled your arm through his. âIs it that bad?â
Viktor looked at you, his eyes softening instantly.
âEasy for you to say. You seem made for this.â
She let out a soft laugh.
âNot as much as you think. Iâm just trying to look like it.â
A waiter passed by with a tray of wine glasses, taking a couple, offering another to Viktor. He reluctantly grew taller, though he hesitated before taking a sip.
From a safe distance, Jayce watched the scene with a satisfied smile. Mel approached him, arching an eyebrow in curiosity.
âWhat did you do this time?â
âA little push in the right direction,â Jayce replied, nodding towards where you stood with Viktor.
Mel let out a light laugh, shaking her head.
âI didnât know you were a matchmaker.â
Jayce said alarmingly, shrugging.
âIâm not. But sometimes, a man needs help to see whatâs right in front of him.â
Meanwhile, you and Viktor had climbed the stairs to the second floor, so you were more isolated from the hustle and bustle, it was a big job for him, but he really wanted to get away from the crowd. Plus the second floor was an even more beautiful place than the main hall, full of huge stained glass windows and a balcony at the end.
âI never imagined Iâd end up here,â you said, looking at the lights that dyed the floor thanks to the stained glass. âWhen I was a child, I looked at the towers of Piltover from Zaun and dreamed of seeing them up close.â
âZaun leaves its mark on all of us,â Viktor said softly, his fingers drumming against the handle of his cane. âBut itâs not always a bad thing. Sometimes, it pushes us to⊠be better.â
You looked at him with a shy smile, your eyes meeting his.
"Do you think we've accomplished that?"
Viktor was silent for a moment sighing before answering, then slightly tilted his head at you.
"You certainly have."
Your eyes widened in surprise, a slight blush coloring your cheeks.
"That's quite a compliment coming from you."
The sound of music filled the air, and the guests began to make their way to the main hall for the dance. Jayce didn't hesitate to take Mel's hand and head out onto the dance floor.
"It's time to dance" you said, looking over the railing at the rest of the guests dancing with their partners with some longing.
"I don't dance" Viktor answered immediately. It was one of the things he had crossed off the list of things he could still do.
You looked at Viktor, shaking your head.
"I can'tâŠ"he didn't like saying that at all, but he didn't want her to be disappointed for failing even in the attempt to do it, all his life he had known that those things weren't for him, so he didn't give himself the time to even try. "I'm sorry to disappoint you." Viktor approached the railing, to look at all those couples dancing next to you.
"Disappoint me?" you answered incredulously, carefully bringing one of your hands closer to his "I don't think you can ever do that."
Your pinky gently caressed his hand, it was okay if he didn't want to dance, you had already witnessed what the pain in his leg could cause him and you didn't want that to happen today. You were pleased to just have his presence by your side, that was enough for you.
Viktor sighed, feeling guilty for 'ruining your night' he looked at you and knew he had to take the risk. He reached out a hand to you, more shaky than he would have liked.
âThis time I might try.â
You took his hand carefully, leading him away from the railing, to his own little dance floor. As the music continued, Viktor tried to focus on following your steps, but he realized his attention was completely fixed on you, the way you held his hand, the way he felt your body close to his, your warmth against the cold of your skin. He couldn't help but blush as he finally worked up the courage to look at your face, your smile, the way you looked at him as if he were more than just an inventor addicted to his work.
For the first time in a long time, Viktor allowed himself to let go of the cane that made an almost imperceptible sound as it fell to the ground, he allowed himself to be enveloped by the moment, by the sensations, by you. He forced his leg to be useful to him for the first time, slowly under the silver lights of the moon, the outside world faded away, the pressure of his work, everything that tormented him left him to live the moment with you.
"Viktor, your caneâŠ" you rushed quickly to grab it, thinking that you had dropped it by mistake but his hand in yours stopped you.
"I want to try it like this." He said as he extended his other hand for you to take. You weren't sure if that was the best thing for him, but the confidence on his face, the way he looked as if he were begging you to let him live that moment like that ended up convincing you.
Jayce, watching the scene from a safe distance at the bottom of the stairs, smiled to himself.
"It's about time." he said before Mel appeared and he happily let himself be dragged back to the dance floor.
The dance continued, and although Viktor's movements were a little stiff, your slow, gentle movements managed to relax him little by little. Despite his lack of experience, Viktor was surprised to find a natural rhythm next to you. The murmur of the rest of the guests, the echo of laughter and conversations, faded as your eyes remained fixed on his, with your hands resting on his shoulders, and his own hands caressing your waist.
"See? It wasn't so terrible after all," you murmured with a smile as you buried your face in his neck.
Viktor looked down, his lips curving into a slight smile. But he knew he couldn't last much longer standing without his cane, he was starting to feel that stabbing pain in his leg, he tried to control it as best he could, he didn't want that moment with you to end.
"It's⊠bearable." He tried to keep his body as relaxed as possible, to avoid you noticing and he feeling like a dying man again.
You laughed, a sound so warm and sincere that it caused Viktor to have a strange tingle in his chest.
"Always so enthusiastic?" you joked.
"Maybe the environment has an influence" he answered, keeping his tone sarcastic but with an unusual softness that you didn't miss.
A comfortable silence settled between the two of them as they continued to sway to the music. Viktor, normally so oblivious to social interactions, couldn't help but wonder how someone like you, so kind and brilliant, was more than comfortable being in his life. And more importantly, how he had been lucky enough to have you stay in it.
As the music began to become softer, both of their movements became slower, until they stopped completely. You stayed close, your hands still joined, until he spoke in a voice barely audible to you:
"Thank you for joining me tonight."
You nodded.
"Thank you⊠for making it bearable."
He smiled, his gaze lowering for a moment before meeting yours again, as you picked up his cane from the floor and surrendered.
"Thank you. We should do this more often, don't you think?"
The suggestion took you by surprise, you didn't think Viktor would want to repeat something like that, but instead of responding with a negative and referring to his leg, you simply said:
"Maybe." with a sweet smile, now that you both shared more than just work. Without the bustle and inquisitive glances of the attendees, it was as if they were in a world of their own.
The party had reached its moment of recess, with laughter and soft music filling the air. The guests began to disperse throughout the place and some began to climb the stairs. The moment you shared was abruptly broken when a visibly drunk councilman stumbled towards you with a smirk on his face. His ostentatious attire and wine glass in hand made him seem out of place in the serene atmosphere you had created.
âAh, there are the strangers!â he exclaimed, his tone heavy with mockery. His eyes assessed you both, lingering a little longer on you, an expression that made you shudder in disgust. You had received such looks before, you knew them and knew they led to nothing good.
Viktor tensed instantly, straightening up with difficulty and leaning more heavily on his cane to take a step forward.
âCan we help you with something?â Viktor asked coldly, clearly uncomfortable with the manâs presence.
The councilman let out an exaggerated laugh.
âOh, I donât need any help from you.â Though I must say, Heimerdinger has strange priorities, letting a couple of second-class citizens mingle among us.
Your brow furrowed and you clenched your fists, more than ready to throw him down the stairs and pretend he slipped. But before you could say anything, the man turned to Viktor with a sly grin.
âYou⊠Viktor⊠How admirable that you accomplish so much in such⊠poor health. Itâs a miracle you can stay on your feet, donât you think? Though, of course, when all you have to offer is your brain, I guess thereâs not much else you can use to impress.â
The comment hit like a whiplash, but Viktor didnât respond immediately, it wasnât the first time he heard someone talk about him like that, he didnât care at all. His grip on the cane tightened just because you were there, and his jaw clenched, of all people in the world, he didnât want you to be the one to hear that. He remained silent, his gaze fixed on the man.
The councilor, seeing that he wasnât getting a response, turned his attention to you again. His eyes scanned you shamelessly, his smile twisting even more.
âAnd you, my dear⊠I guess it makes sense that youâre here with him. The girls of Zaun always know how to⊠adapt to circumstances, donât they? A perfect match: a disembodied brain and a⊠well, you know.â
Indignation took hold of you. Your chest rose and fell rapidly, but before you could respond or move to fit his nose with a punch, Viktor grabbed your hand, stopping the hurricane of thoughts in your mind.
âStop it,â Viktor said, his voice low but firm.
The councilman raised his eyebrows, feigning surprise.
âOh, did you hit a nerve? Iâm sorry, I didnât mean to-â
âNo,â Viktor interrupted, taking a step forward, despite the obvious annoyance the movement caused him. âDonât be sorry. And I donât want your fake apologies. Just⊠shut your mouth and get out.â
The man snorted, but before he could say anything else, you faced him, walking steadily in front of him, your voice clear and determined.
âIt must be exhausting carrying so much shit around,â you said, with an icy smile. âBut I guess I couldnât expect anything else from someone whose only virtue is his last name.â
The councilman looked at you, surprised by your bravery, and then snorted before turning to leave, muttering something unintelligible and spilling half of his glass of wine on the floor.
When you were alone again, the air was still tense, your fists still clenched at your sides. Viktor finally let out a long sigh, closing his eyes for a moment.
âYou shouldnât have⊠faced him,â he said softly. âIâm used to his usual nonsense.â
You looked at him with a determined expression.
âAnd you shouldnât bear that in silence. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially you. They should lick your shoes, thanks to you this city really became the city of progress. You shouldnât have to get used to it, Viktor.â You intertwined your hand with his, like an instinct you couldnât ignore.
He looked down at their intertwined hands. He could feel the warmth of your touch breaking through the cold barrier he had built up over the years.
âI donât believe his words, theyâre irrelevant to me,â he finally admitted, his voice laced with honesty.
You gently squeezed his hand, forcing him to look at you.
âThen stand up for yourself, because you know what I believe? I believe youâre more than just a brilliant brain, Viktor. Youâre not just a man with a cane or someone who comes from Zaun. Youâre so much more than that, a genius, a visionary. Thereâs so much about you thatâs amazing besides your wit.â
Viktor let out a short, dry laugh, but there was a spark of something else in his expression. Maybe gratitude, maybe something deeper that he didnât dare name yet.
âYouâre⊠persistent,â he said, with a slight smile that quickly faded as he looked back into your eyes. âBut I donât understand why.â
You tilted your head, confused.
âWhy, what?â
Viktor looked away, unsure of how to continue, but he knew the words were already on the edge of his lips, and he couldnât turn back.
âWhy do you care so much about me? Why are you still here, by my side, despite everything. Helping me with everything, always taking care of me, looking at me as if there was nothing more interesting than me when I talk to youâŠeven now.â
You looked at him for a long moment with a huge blush caught in your cheeks, and then, with a warmth in your voice that almost disarmed him, you answered, âBecause I see you, Viktor. I see who you really are, and⊠I care about you. Much more than I should.â
The world seemed to stop in that instant. Viktor swallowed, feeling the air grow heavier, but also clearer at the same time.
âY/NâŠâ His voice was a whisper, as if he was taste out your name in a different, more intimate context that even he didnât know about.
Their eyes met again, and this time, Viktor didn't look away, just watching your eyes sparkle and your pupils widen, it warmed his heart to know it was because you were looking at him.
"I should tell you now, but wellâŠit's something new."
You smile softly, giving him some relief.
"You don't need to be good at it. Just tell me what you feel."
Viktor took a deep breath, as if he was preparing for a leap he had feared for a long time.
"I admire you. Not just for your intelligence or your ability to put up with myâŠquirks. But because you make me feel differentâŠalive. With you, I don't feel alone. With you, I feel likeâŠI can be something more."
His words were clumsy, but the sincerity in them was undeniable.
âAnd I think⊠I feel something really deep for you, Y/N.â
The silence that followed was overwhelming, but not because you were hesitating. But because you were taking in each word, feeling them deeply. Slowly, a smile spread across your face, and with a determined step, you closed the distance between you.
âThatâs good, Viktor,â you whispered, leaning in just enough for him to hear each word clearly. âBecause Iâm already in love with you.â
Viktor looked at you, a flash of something soft and warm crossing his eyes.
âThank you,â he finally said, his voice almost a whispered gasp. Despite everything he believed made him unworthy, you always saw him as something more.
The air seemed to vibrate between you, charged with an energy neither of you could explain but both of you understood. As the lights of Piltover continued to shine in the distance, the two of them towered over high society, standing together in a pure, private moment.
Jayce, who had been watching the scene with a mix of satisfaction and pride, decided not to interrupt. Mel, at his side, looked at him with an arched eyebrow.
âHappy with your masterpiece?â she asked, taking a sip of her glass.
âMore than I imagined,â Jayce replied, crossing his arms as a triumphant smile lit up his face. âViktor deserved it, although heâll probably hate me tomorrow.â
âOh, I donât think heâll hate you,â Mel said, watching the couple. âMaybe heâll even thank you⊠eventually.â
As the night progressed and the lights in the hall grew dimmer, you and Viktor remained close, away from the bustle of the rest of the guests. For the first time in a long time, Viktor wasnât thinking about the Hexcore, or his work, or his body, or the expectations he had placed on himself.
At that moment, there were only the two of them, and that, for Viktor, was a discovery as fascinating as any scientific breakthrough.

wedding link:
Viktor
The silence in the lab is heavy, interrupted only by the soft hum of the machines he has designed himself. Youâre beside him, watching how his fingers move with skill, adjusting a piece of the contraption he holds in his hands. The dim light from the lamps reflects on his face, casting shadows that highlight the features of his face, always so serious, so focused. But in his eyes, thereâs something different today. Something... softer, deeper.
Youâre used to seeing him in his colder, distant side, but something has changed. Thereâs a strange calmness in his presence. When he looks up and meets your gaze, his lips curl slightly, a small but meaningful smile.
"Science is my life," he says in his deep, measured tone, as if evaluating each word before speaking. "And it always has been. But some time ago, something changed. Something that... has nothing to do with experiments or formulas. Something I canât measure or control."
He looks at you with an intensity that feels almost uncomfortable, as if he were exposed, vulnerable, on ground where he doesnât have all the answers. His voice, though firm, carries a vulnerability he rarely shows.
"Youâve given me more than I thought I needed," he continues, his eyes never leaving yours. "Itâs not just what youâve done for me in the lab. Itâs... what youâve done for me as a person. Youâve been my anchor, my reason to keep going when everything seemed lost. In a world that doesnât have clear answers, youâre the only certainty I have."
The distance between the two of you seems to shorten. Viktor takes a step toward you, although his movements are slow, as if each one carries meaning. He stops beside you, almost as if it were a gesture of trust, of allowing himself to be vulnerable in your presence. He closes his eyes for a moment, as if preparing to say something that has taken him a long time to decide.
"What Iâm about to say... doesnât have any exact formula. No calculation that validates it," he says, and you can see his hands tremble slightly. "But I know that, with everything Iâve done, with everything I still want to do, I would never feel complete without you."
His voice is soft now, much quieter, as if what heâs about to say is a secret, one heâs revealing only to you.
"Iâve seen you beyond the brilliant mind, beyond the scientist who always challenges me. Iâve seen you as someone who, no matter how many times I shut myself off from the world, continues to be by my side, expecting nothing more than... to be with me."
He takes something from his pocket. A small metal case. He opens the lid carefully, revealing a simple ring, but with an elegance that only he could have imagined and created. The Hextech light reflects off the blue stone, casting glimmers that make your breath catch for a moment.
"My life wouldnât be the same without you. And if thereâs one thing in this world I donât want to lose, itâs the opportunity to have you by my side forever."
Viktor looks at you deeply, waiting, more vulnerable than heâs ever been. And finally, after all the science, all the advancements, all the sacrifices... he asks you with a sincerity that cuts through the air:
"Will you marry me?"
The silence that follows is absolute. You stay motionless, unable to articulate a word. The weight of his declaration, of his vulnerability, pierces you, but instead of an immediate response, you dive into the intensity of his eyes, looking for something, any sign, any confirmation that this isnât a dream. Viktor begins to worry, and the discomfort is reflected on his face.
"Itâs a shame... I canât do it the conventional way, kneeling..." he murmurs, his voice trembling. "But... I guess..."
You canât let him finish the sentence. The anxiety in his eyes, the insecurity in his posture, prevents you from doing so. You move quickly, placing your lips on his with a soft kiss, but one filled with everything you canât put into words. The world seems to fade away, and all that remains is him, the beating of your heart, and that silent connection between you two.
When you finally pull away, his gaze is still fixed on you, expectant, anxious. With a tenderness that comes from deep within, you take his face in your hands, your fingers caressing his skin as if it were the most precious thing in the world. And it was. He was the most precious thing in your world.
You look deeply into his eyes, every word that leaves your mouth filled with love, promises, and everything you havenât said until now.
"Yes, Viktor... yes, yes, yes. Always yes."
The air between you both is filled with a new energy, one that needs no more words, because the simple fact of being together is enough.
Jinx
The night has fallen, but itâs not a peaceful one. The air is charged with electricity, as if the whole world is waiting for something, and you, trapped in the whirlwind of the city, canât help but feel that something is about to explode. Literally.
You walk through the dark alleys of the Undercity, the neon lights flickering around you, when suddenly, a familiar laugh makes you turn. Jinx appears, her electric blue hair waving in the wind and a spark of madness in her eyes. Sheâs holding a large, seemingly heavy box in her hands, grinning mischievously.
âSurprise!â she says, her voice overflowing with excitement. âIâve got something incredible to show you. Itâs bigger than anything youâve ever seen!â
Before you can say anything, she grabs your hand and drags you toward an open space, where a small platform is set up, filled with wires and explosives. The sense of danger is in the air, but itâs impossible not to feel the adrenaline she radiates. You know that with Jinx, you canât expect anything conventional, but thatâs what makes her so unpredictable. So... perfect.
âWhat are you doing?â you ask, although you can already imagine the kind of madness she has in mind.
âDoing what Iâve always wanted to do! A celebration of love that no one will ever forget!â she replies, her smile so wide it almost lights up the cityâs darkness.
Jinx runs toward an improvised control panel and presses a button with exaggerated theatricality, as if it were a grand revelation. Suddenly, the sky lights up. A flash of colors bursts above you, as if the very chaos inside her wanted to spill over into the universe. Fireworks. A visual spectacle so dazzling that it takes your breath away. Itâs as if the whole city is alive, as if life and death themselves were dancing in the sky.
While the explosions of colors fill the air, Jinx approaches you, her eyes sparkling as if she had immersed herself in her own world of madness and love. Sheâs not one to beat around the bush or speak sweetly, so when she takes your face in her hands, her fingers cold but full of energy, you know what sheâs about to say is as unexpected as everything she does.
âListen,â she says, looking at the colorful stars exploding above them. âWhat I love most about this world is the chaos. Things donât have to be perfect or make sense! But... thereâs one thing Iâm absolutely sure of.â
Your heart beats faster, but you canât help but smile at her wild declaration.
âI want you to be my chaos,â she continues, her voice full of determination. âI want you to join me in this journey of madness, to hold on to me when I explode, to keep laughing when the world falls apart, to follow me... because you and I are invincible!â
With a nearly mischievous grin, Jinx pulls something from her jacket: a ring. Itâs quirky, like everything in her life, with visible gears and sparkling stones, some even crackling slightly, as if theyâre about to explode.
âWhat I mean is... will you marry me? Tell me yes before I run out of fireworks!â
Jinxâs laughter is a little overwhelming, an echo of her own unpredictable essence. But despite all her chaos, thereâs something so sincere in her eyes, something that makes you feel that, even though the world may be on the edge of destruction, this moment, this chaos, is the only thing that truly matters.
You stand there, speechless for a moment, overwhelmed by the light bombardment and the madness of the proposal, but when you see how she looks at you, waiting, you realize you have no doubts. Jinx has made it clear in her own language: love is a dangerous game, but you want to play it by her side.
With a brilliant smile, you approach her, and between the lights, amid the roar, you whisper:
âYes, Jinx. Yes, to this chaos. Yes, always.â
Vi
Youâre lying on the couch, comfortable and relaxed, with your head resting on Viâs legs. The soft sound of the city that never sleeps drifts in from the window, but inside the house, the silence feels cozy. Vi is sitting, her muscles tense but calm, with a thoughtful expression as she plays with your hair, something that always soothes you.
The warmth of her presence surrounds you, and for a moment, everything seems perfect. But something in the air changes. Viâs relaxed demeanor begins to feel different, as if sheâs holding something back. You realize that, for the first time, sheâs not being the confident Vi, the one who always has everything under control.
âAre you okay?â you ask, lifting your head from her legs to look at her directly. Vi doesnât answer right away, and her fingers stop moving through your hair. Thereâs uncertainty in her eyes, something you havenât seen before.
She shifts, crosses her legs, but doesnât seem as comfortable as usual. âYou know... Iâm not really good with these things,â she says, her voice softer than usual. âIâm always the one who throws punches and solves everything my way, but now...â Her gaze drops to the floor for a moment, avoiding eye contact.
You look at her, sensing that something important is about to come out of her mouth. On her face, that nervous grimace is a clear sign that sheâs struggling with herself. Somethingâs going on, but she doesnât know how to express it.
âWhat I mean is... Iâve never been good with words,â Vi continues, letting out a nervous laugh. âAnd Iâm not one for grand gestures or fancy things. Iâm not someone who can give you the best, like... you know, expensive jewelry or fancy places. But thereâs something I know I want.â
Vi takes something from her pocket, and when you see it, a small ring appears between her fingers. Itâs not shiny or flashy. Itâs simple, made of metal with a rustic design, almost as if she made it herself. A small symbol of her effort and her love.
âThis... isnât much,â she says, looking at the ring with a slight embarrassment. âI got it with what I could save. Itâs not perfect, but... I want it to be a symbol of who I am for you. Of everything weâve been through together. And... I want us to be together. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, even if Iâm not the best at this. Because, despite everything, I love you more than I can put into words.â
Vi looks at the ring like itâs a simple object, but in her eyes, you can see how much it means to her. Her insecurity is palpable, as if sheâs waiting for the ring to not be enough. But you know thatâs not what matters. You know itâs all she has to offer you, and thatâs what makes this moment even more special.
You see her nervous, waiting for a response, and you canât help but smile. You get up and stand in front of her, gently touching her hands, and when you look at her, the insecurity on her face melts away, though her voice is still a fearful whisper.
âVi,â you say, with a sincere smile. âI donât care about the ring, I donât care about what you couldnât give me. What matters is that youâve shown me more love than I ever imagined. Yes, I want to marry you. Yes, I always want to be with you, by your side.â
Vi looks at you as if she canât believe what she just heard. Her face lights up with a pure expression of relief and happiness. Even though the words arenât perfect, everything this moment means is in her eyes. She lets out a nervous laugh and, without thinking, pulls you into a tight hug.
âI knew youâd say yes,â she whispers, but her voice is full of emotion. And you, amid the laughter and the embrace, know that despite everything that has happened, this moment couldnât be more perfect.
Caitlyn
Night has fallen over Piltover, and the city lights shine with a golden glow, reflecting the majesty of the buildings and the life that has always characterized this city. Caitlyn has invited you to dinner at one of the most exclusive restaurants in town, an elegant place, tastefully decorated, where the panoramic view takes your breath away. The atmosphere is calm, yet filled with a sophisticated air. The murmurs of other diners do not interrupt the softness of the background music.
Caitlyn looks impeccable, as always, in her elegant dress that accentuates her delicate but strong features. The soft candlelight flickers on her face, highlighting the concentration in her eyes. From the moment you entered the restaurant, you could sense something in the air, but she is determined to maintain composure, even though her hands occasionally move restlessly over the table.
The dinner goes on as usual, with Caitlyn talking about her latest research advancements, her projects, and concerns about the future of Piltover. But even though the topic is important and her voice is firm, you can't help but notice the tension inside her. She drinks a bit more wine than she normally would, and from time to time, her fingers play with the glass as if she is seeking comfort.
"I've been waiting for this," she says suddenly, her eyes fixed on you, although her tone betrays her nervousness. "I don't know if I'm good at this, but I think... well, I need to be honest. I don't like hiding things, and this is important."
Your eyes meet hers, noticing how a slight blush begins to appear on her cheeks. Caitlyn, the woman who always has a logical answer for everything, now looks completely vulnerable. But it's not her nervousness that makes you smile; it's the way she looks at you, as if this moment is more important than any project or achievement.
Caitlyn sighs deeply and finally gets up from her chair, giving you a little spin around the table. You don't know if it's to calm herself or because she needs to distract her thoughts, but she approaches slowly, as if each step is a challenge. Her hands tremble slightly as she places them on the table, and you realize that something very important is about to happen.
"I know this isn't something I planned in the traditional way," she says, her voice soft but firm, "but... this is how I feel. And I want you to know." She lifts her hand, showing you a small ring, whose shine is subtle but radiant. It is a delicate ring, with a simple yet elegant design, of impeccable quality. And when you see it, you realize it's not just any jewel.
It's the ring her mother wore at her wedding, the same one Caitlyn had seen so many times, the one she had touched with so much love when she was a child. A symbol of tradition, of enduring love. A symbol of family.
"This is my mother's ring," Caitlyn says, almost whispering. "I know it's not a modern ring, nor expensive compared to what I could buy, but... it holds a very special meaning. For me, it means everything I want to offer you. My family, my love, my commitment. My promise that I'll always be by your side."
She looks at you, her eyes shining with emotion, as if it were the first time she showed something so intimate, so hers. There are no doubts in her gaze, only a deep certainty of what she's saying, but her voice remains soft, sincere.
"I love you," she says, with a clarity that reaches straight to your heart. "And I want you to be my partner in all of this, not just in the good moments, but in the difficult ones. Because, for me, there is no one else I want to be with. Only you."
Caitlyn places the ring in front of you, and for a moment, all the bustle of the restaurant disappears. Only the soft sound of her breath and the beating of your heart remain. You know what you have to do, but this moment feels so perfect, so genuine, that the words seem stuck in your throat. All you want to do is take her hand, look her in the eyes, and say yes.
Finally, your words come out with a wide smile. "Yes, Cait. Yes, I want to spend my life with you."
Caitlyn's eyes light up with a happiness that makes you feel as if everything is in its place, as if nothing else matters about what may come in the future. This moment, this commitment, is everything you both needed.
Caitlyn hugs you tightly, and the ring shines on your finger, a symbol of a pure and deep love, born from honesty, vulnerability, and sincerity from a woman who, despite her external perfection, has always been real with you.
Jayce
The day had been long and full of work, but Jayce, with his determined spirit, decided to surprise you. Instead of taking you to a fancy restaurant or preparing something sophisticated, he had a much bolder ideaâa homemade dinner. That made you smile immediately, knowing that Jayce wasnât exactly an expert chef. But you didnât care; the idea of sharing something so personal with him excited you more than any gourmet dinner.
When you entered the kitchen, you found him with an expression of total concentration, mixing ingredients in a way that left much to be desired, but you found it charming. He had made pasta, something simple, but it had surely cost him more effort than he wanted to admit.
"Surprise!" he said as he saw you approach. Although the dish wasnât a culinary masterpiece, you sat with him, and despite the imperfections, you enjoyed every bite. The smile on his face as he watched you eat was enough to make everything seem perfect. And when, after a while of talking and laughing, you got up to go to the bathroom, he took the opportunity to open a special bottle of wine.
When you returned, the glass was ready, and seeing the wine in it and the label on the bottle, your eyes lit up with excitement. It was your favorite wine! You couldnât stop smiling as you smelled it and took a small sip.
But then, suddenly, something wasnât right. A strange piece caught in your throat made you cough hard. The wine spilled from your mouth as you tried to catch your breath, and in the midst of coughing, a strange sensation made you feel as if something was stuck there. In an instant, Jayce was by your side, looking at you with panic.
"What happened?! Are you okay?!"
With a quick maneuver, almost instinctively, Jayce patted your back and, with a racing heart, helped you spit out what was stuck in your throat. To both of your surprise, what came out was not just a piece of food, but a small ring now resting in your hand.
Jayce was in shock, looking at the ring and then at you, completely red with embarrassment. "Oh no! That wasnât part of the plan! How did that get there? Everything has gone wrong... Iâm sorry, I never imagined this would happen."
You laughed, almost hysterically, as you cleaned the ring with a napkin and held it in your palm. Despite the comical situation, Jayce was clearly frustrated. He wanted everything to be perfect, but you didnât care. It was clear that all that mattered was that he was there, in front of you, despite the fiasco.
"Are you going to ask me or not?" you asked, the smile on your lips growing as you watched his face change from despair to disbelief.
Jayce looked at you, and for a moment, he didnât know what to say. He was nervous, completely out of place. "Really? NowâŠ?" he asked, with a nervous laugh. But it didnât take long for him to do what he had to do. With a shy but genuine smile, he knelt before you, somewhat clumsy but sincere, and with a nervous laugh, he said:
"Well⊠since it seems I canât do anything right today, maybe this will be the one thing that goes well. Will you marry me?"
The scene, as clumsy as it was funny, made you laugh even more, but in the end, all that mattered was that he was there, in his own way, loving you. The ring, somewhat imperfect in all its disorder, represented more love than anyone could ask for. Without thinking any further, you took his face in your hands and kissed him tenderly, answering in the simplest yet most profound way possible:
"Yes, Jayce. I do."
Ekko
The Undercity held its own kind of magic. The faint lights of the streetlamps flickered through the mist, and the distant sounds of the markets blended with the steady flow of water running through the pipes. You were sitting on an improvised bench in a hidden corner, surrounded by the crumbling walls, but to you, this place felt like the very heart of the world. Ekko had made it a refuge for the two of you, a space where you could escape from the chaos and, for a moment, forget about everything else except the present.
There was something special about that night. The way Ekko looked at you, the spark in his eyes... it wasnât like the times before. There was something deeper now, a sense of resolution, as if he was on the verge of making a decision that would change everything. And he did.
"You know," Ekko began, his voice more serious than usual, "I've been thinking a lot about things lately. About how everything we've lived through... everything we've overcome... has changed us." His words carried a weight they usually didnât.
The conversation didn't seem to be heading towards a cheerful topic, but there was something in the air that told you what was coming was important. You leaned in a little closer, sensing that the atmosphere was charged with something.
He pulled a small device from his pocket, something that looked like an old piece of machinery, but upon closer inspection, you realized it was no ordinary gadget. It was a pocket watch, but not the kind you'd find in a store. This one was modified, a timepiece that seemed designed not only to measure time but also to control something else... something intangible, like destiny. It was something Ekko had built over the years, a reflection of his constant efforts to understand the flow of time.
"This watch," he said with a faint smile on his lips, "is a reminder. A reminder that even when things seem out of control, we can always find a way to move forward. Like us, always moving forward, no matter what comes our way."
He looked at you with a seriousness youâd never seen from him before, and for a moment, he fell silent, as if searching for the right words.
"And⊠what Iâm trying to say is that, even though we donât have control over time, even though we canât stop whatâs coming, I want you to keep walking by my side. Every second, every minute, every step."
Despite his usual relaxed demeanor, in that moment he seemed more vulnerable than ever. The watch he showed you wasnât just a machine; it was a symbol of what he had been searching for his whole life: a way to stop time, so that the most important moments wouldnât slip away.
"So, if at any point you feel the same way," he added, gently taking your hand, "Iâd like this... what weâre living... to never end. That we can keep making memories together. I donât know if thereâs a right way to ask, but... would you like to be with me, always?"
He looked at you with a vulnerability youâd never seen before, almost as if afraid you might say something that would break the magic of the moment.
You couldnât help but smile, at first as if you were in shock, speechless. This Ekko, the one who always had a plan, the one who had faced a thousand battles, was now asking you to be by his side forever, with a sincerity he rarely showed. It wasnât a grand traditional gesture, but to you, it was even more meaningful.
You were silent for a few seconds, and that made Ekko feel even more unsure, his gaze beginning to fade as if he thought you had already decided not to answer. But before he could pull away or say anything more, you caught him, quickly closing the distance between you.
"Yes," you whispered, but it was a resounding yes. "Yes, Ekko, I want to be with you. Always. I donât need a watch or a perfect plan. I just need you."
You held his hand more firmly, looking into his eyes, and his lips formed a slight smile, though his face still carried a trace of nervousness.
"Together, forever, babe," he said, pulling you close and resting your back against his chest. You smiled happily as his arms wrapped around you.
You took the watch and kissed it, feeling the cold scent of rusted metal.
"Forever," you replied, and that word felt like the beginning of something eternal.
Silco
It was another night when the soft light of candles flickered, casting shadows in the corners of the room. The atmosphere in Silco's office was charged with tension, as always, but tonight something felt different. The usual coldness of the room had transformed into something warmer. On the walls, shadows danced to the rhythm of the flames, and the scattered papers on his desk seemed to tell stories of past struggles and uncertain victories.
However, Silco wasnât at his desk. He stood in the center of the room, silently watching you as you leaned against the door, returning his gaze. His presence was magnetic, as always, but there was something different about him tonight. Something more vulnerable in his stance, as if he had been waiting for youâor rather, waiting for you to understand what lay beneath those deep eyes.
âThis is a different kind of night,â Silco spoke, his voice grave, deliberate, as if weighing each word. He motioned for you to come closer, but not to himâtoward the far side of the room. A table, delicately designed, rested just beneath a window overlooking the chaotic landscape of the Undercity.
As you approached, you noticed several boxes on the table, some open, some closed. One wooden box caught your eye. Silcoâs gaze hardened on it, almost as if he feared what might happen when it was opened, or perhaps what it represented. He moved toward it slowly, like someone executing a carefully planned act, and gently opened the box.
Inside lay a ring. It wasnât the kind of ring youâd expect from someone like Silcoâno extravagant jewels, no grand display of wealth. Yet, there was something profound about it. The fine, dark metalwork and the stone that caught the light in a way you couldnât ignore seemed to tell a story. It was as if the ring itself embodied both the harshness of his life and the softness of feelings he had long kept hidden.
âThis is the kind of thing I never cared for,â he said, his tone mixing toughness with an unexpected sincerity. âA symbol without meaning. But since you arrived, Iâve learned that there are things worth more than logic.â
For the first time in what seemed like forever, Silco showed a hint of insecurity. His gaze clouded for a moment, as if he feared your reaction. But instead of saying more, he stepped closer, the ring in his hand, and slowly sank to his knee before you.
âIâve sacrificed so much, maybe thatâs why I never let myself desire more. But now I know. I know because I want you. And because I donât want to do this alone.â
There was no grand gesture, no theatrics, but the weight of sincerity in his simple act stunned you. He looked up at you, his eyes full of vulnerability, asking for something more than anyone had ever dared to ask before.
âWill you marry me?â
The silence in the room was thick, filled with everything Silco couldnât say but what his proposal meant. It wasnât a casual requestâit was a serious commitment, as serious as everything heâd fought for in his life.
For a moment, you stood still, heart racingânot because of the surprise, but because of the sheer intensity of his words and the unexpected gesture. You had seen the calculating side of Silco, the way he controlled every aspect of his life, every decision with precision. But thisâthis was something entirely different. It was the purest form of vulnerability, someone willing to give it all up for love, to risk everything theyâd built for someone who meant more than any achievement.
Finally, you took a deep breath and, with a soft smile, nodded. âYes,â you said, your voice steady but full of emotion. âThere is nothing I want more in this world than to be your wife.â
The air shifted instantly. Silco stood slowly, and his normally implacable face softened. It was as if he had laid down an immense weight, as if the future finally had a clear purpose.
Without another word, he pulled you into his arms. In that moment, the shadows in the room seemed lighter, less oppressive. With the promise of a future together, everything that had once seemed distant, unreachable, now felt within both your grasps.
Mel
It was a quiet night, one of those where the sounds of the city reached you muffled, as if time was willing to grant you a break. Mel's living room, as always, was a perfect display of elegance and order, but something about the atmosphere that night felt different, warmer, more intimate. The soft light from the lamps illuminated the carefully arranged furniture, and there was a rare calm in the air, something that only happened when the worries of the outside world seemed to vanish for a moment.
Mel had invited you to her house that night, but not for dinner or a formal event. Instead, she had wanted to show you something more, something personal. And seeing the invitation in her eyes, you knew this moment was special.
When you entered, the house had a more relaxed vibe than usual. The fireplace flickered softly in the background, and the air was filled with the delicate scent of incense. However, what truly caught your attention was what was in the center of the room. A large painting, a framed portrait, was leaning against the wall, carefully placed under a soft light.
"I want you to see this," Mel said with a slight smile, her usually firm voice now tinged with an unexpected sweetness. She approached you, guiding you toward the painting. Though her face didnât give it away, there was a slight tension in her movements, as if she was waiting for your reaction.
You stepped closer to the portrait, and your breath caught as you saw the image in front of you. It was a portrait of you, painted with a level of detail that only someone like Mel could have achieved. Every line, every shadow seemed to capture something beyond your appearance: a reflection of your being, how she saw you. It wasnât just a painting; it was an expression of how Mel perceived you, something that had been rendered with such dedication that the work itself seemed to come alive.
"Itâs⊠incredible," you murmured, unable to articulate a more complete response. Mel watched your reaction, her eyes fixed on you, but without saying a word. You knew that, for her, this work meant far more than just a portrait. It was a piece of her soul, an extension of her deepest feelings.
"I did it because⊠because I wanted to capture something that could never be expressed just with words," Mel said, her tone calm but loaded with meaning. "Itâs hard for me to share something so⊠personal, but with you, I feel like it makes sense."
You turned toward her, surprised by the vulnerability she was showing, so rare in the woman who had always kept everything under control. But there was something in her gaze, something in her posture, that made you see what she truly felt.
Mel took a step toward you, her gaze softening even further. "You are⊠the only person who has truly shown me what it means to let someone in so deeply. Iâve spent my whole life building walls, creating an image of control, but you⊠youâve shown me something I didnât even know I needed."
There was a softness in her words that you had never heard before. You knew her as a strong, calculating woman, always impeccable. But there, in that moment, in front of you, there was something more, something that only you had been able to awaken in her.
"And now I want you to⊠be part of my life. I want you not only to be part of this portrait, but of everything Iâve built. Iâve had all the power in the world, all the control I could wish for, but that doesnât make sense without someone like you by my side."
Mel paused, almost as if she were fighting against herself, and then, with a smooth movement, extended her hand toward you. In her palm rested a small box, which she carefully opened, revealing a simple but elegant ring. It was beautiful but not ostentatious, with a unique beauty, a design that spoke of her personality: refined, but with a subtle touch of surprise. The golden ring glimmered softly under the candlelight, like a reflection of the same gentleness Mel had shown in her words.
"I want you to be my partner," Mel said, her voice a barely audible whisper, but filled with meaning. "Will you marry me?"
The moment was marked by a tense silence, loaded with emotion. Mel wasnât seeking a grand declaration or an ostentatious proposal. She only wanted to share her life with you, in the way she knew how to do it: with a sincerity that only she could offer.
Without thinking, you stepped closer to her, took her face in your hands, and without saying another word, kissed her softly. The kiss wasnât just a response to her proposal, but an affirmation of everything you shared, of everything that moment meant.
When you pulled away, her eyes were filled with something you had never seen before: vulnerability, hope, love. You took her hand, and with a warm smile, you said what she had been waiting to hear, what you both knew was true.
"Yes, Mel. Yes. Iâve always wanted this, to share all of this with you."
Mel smiled, her face lit by a deep emotion she had never shown before. Without saying another word, she hugged you, and in that embrace was everything she couldnât say with words. The future, her promises, her fears, her desires. It was all there, intertwined in an embrace as warm as the painting she had created just for you.
Sevika
It had been a long and dangerous night, more than either of us had anticipated. You had gotten yourself into a mess, bigger than anyone else would have dared to handle, but there you were, beside Sevika, helping her get out of danger. There were a few of Silco's enemies, but with her strength and your ingenuity, you managed to make it all end in the blink of an eye. The tension eased, and calm washed over everything like a wave.
The air was charged with adrenaline, but also with a strange serenity when the two of you were finally away from danger. Sevika, with her impassive face and intense eyes, looked at you with a mix of gratitude and something more. You couldnât say it was love at first sight or anything so romantic, but there was something about that moment that felt different, something raw, something real.
You stayed looking at her while both of you took a breath, your bodies still trembling slightly from the tension. She was so close you could feel her breath, as heavy and rhythmic as your own. Without warning, her eyes locked with yours, and for a moment, the outside world disappeared. There were no more enemies, no more worries, just the two of you.
Sevika didnât speak at first. The full moon illuminated the corner where you were, but it was her silence that spoke volumes. Then, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, her low voice cut through the air:
"Do you want to marry me?"
You stopped, surprised. Had she really said that? Or was it one of her usual jokes? It couldnât have been more unexpected, could it? You laughed lightly, thinking it must have been a joke. But when you looked into her eyes, as serious as always, a knot formed in your stomach. Sevika wasnât joking. Not this time.
"Just like that, out of the blue?" you asked, unable to suppress a smile of disbelief. It was as if all the chaos of the night hadnât been enough to spill over into the unpredictability of her proposal.
She didnât flinch, her lips curving into a slight smile, but her eyes stayed fixed on you, determined. "And why not? The best things come out of nowhere, donât they?" she said with a tone that left no room for doubt. Her voice was strong, direct, but there was a softness hidden beneath her arrogance. Sevika had never been one for too many words, but the few she spoke always carried weight. As if nothing in her was accidental, and every decision she made was calculated down to the last detail.
She looked at you for a moment, evaluating you with the same intensity she always did, then added, "So, do you want to be my little, spoiled wife? I promise to put up with your snoring and you kicking me out of bed for all eternity." She joked, a low laugh escaping her chest, and you were a little surprised by the lightness in her tone, as if, in the seriousness of the situation, Sevika also needed to soften the moment in her own way.
Your reaction was automatic, more because of the teasing tone than the content of what she said. "Hey! I donât snore that much!" you exclaimed, pretending to be offended, but the truth was, you couldnât really be angry. You couldnât be upset, because there was something about her that drew you in in a very unique way.
So, you decided to raise your right hand and move your ring finger. "No ring, no wedding," you warned, then flicked your hair in the air. "Iâm not a girl who settles for little, and you know that."
Sevika approached you, never losing her smile. "Believe me, sweetheart, Iâll buy you the biggest, most expensive ring in the world. Tell me how many carats you want, and Iâll get it exactly how you ask for it." Her promise was full of a confidence only she could have. Every word sounded so convincing, so solid, that there was no room for doubt. Sevika never made empty promises, and this was no exception.
Her voice was deep, playful, as if she was willing to fulfill anything asked of her. You smiled, pleased, but something in her attitude sparked a mischievous glint in your eyes. Instead of continuing the joke, you went straight to the point and leaned close to her ear, whispering with a touch of playful innuendo:
"Since the best things come out of nowhere, why donât we fast forward to the honeymoon?"
Your whisper was soft, but with an undertone of suggestion that didnât go unnoticed. Sevika blinked a couple of times, clearly surprised by your response. But instead of being bothered, something on her face shifted, and a sideways smile appeared on her lips, as if you had pulled the idea right out of her head.
"I like that," she said, her tone now low and filled with palpable desire. "I love that you donât beat around the bush." Her voice was hushed, heavy with desire, accentuated by how close she was to you. "Letâs make this night something much more... memorable."
Suddenly, the environment around you both ceased to exist. Only her eyes, the heat of her body near yours, and the certainty that, despite everything, something had begun in an unexpected way remained. The best things come out of nowhere, and tonight, Sevika had shown you that her way of loving, though fierce and daring, was also the most sincere you had ever known.

muffins
viktor x f! reader
3.8k, MDNI, no use of (y/n)
description: Viktor had been so kind as to agree to help you out with your midterm prep, so you thought baking him muffins would be a great way to repay him. However, an accidental secret ingredient gets in the way of studying.
warnings: Age gap, roomie smut, more story than smut, p in v, sex pollen/serum (with pretty explicit consent), overall jolly good fun, no harm no foul, yippee!
a/n: inspired by @the-hidden-pages story, Human Testing because itâs one of the first viktor x reader fics i ever read and i STRONGLY recommend!
Any student should feel lucky to have the smartest men at the academy as their roommates. Being an undergraduate biochem student who had to work to pay her own tuition, going to lecture wasnât always an option. Thatâs when youâd bake a tray of brownies or do some extra dishes and call in a favor from one of your roomies.
It happened all the time, which made you incredibly thankful to have one people-pleaser in the apartment. Jayce was always willing to put aside whatever he was doing and help you out on your Arcane Studies homework or your Bioengineering project. Last semester, finals week consisted of the two of you sitting criss-cross applesauce on the rug of the living room, paper scattered all over the floor as you tried to decipher the grading scale of your Organic Chemistry class to see what the lowest grade on the test you could get was and still wind up with a passing grade (something Jayce had done plenty of times in his undergrad years).
Viktor, on the other hand, had gotten somewhat tired of your constant requests for him to backtrack and dive into knowledge he hadnât tapped for years now. He was never particularly rude about it, but you were very perceptive. When you asked him to repeat an explanation once or twice, you noticed the growing exhaustion on his face that bordered frustration and you stopped asking for his help going forward. It wasnât to his own fault, you could be pretty needy sometimes, so more often than not, you just asked Jayce.
Only, Jayce was out of town for a Hextech press conference this weekend, the weekend before you had your Arcane Studies midterm. In a heartbreaking display, he had apologized profusely for not being able to help, inches away from getting on his knees and begging for forgiveness. You assured him none of that was necessary, and that youâd just stay up studying in the library or even reach out to your TA (who youâd never even spoken to before in class or outside of it, and who you were certain would be less helpful than Jayce).
To remedy your situationâeven though you pinkie promised him you didnât need him toâhe took it upon himself to ask Viktor to help you cram study on Sunday night, the night before your midterm. While Jayce asked, you did your best to listen from your bedroom, the next room over. You heard some grumbling from Viktor and a muffled, yet compelling âSheâs our roommate and she bakes us nice thingsâ from Jayce.
Apparently that last bit must have been very rousing, because shortly after, Jayce was at your door telling you that Viktor agreed to a maximum of three hours of cramming that would begin no earlier than eight at night.
You worked for all of Saturdayâs daylight hours, and then finalized your experimental serum for your Advanced Biochemistry project. For the biochem class, youâd been studying methods of enhancing senses for the first half of the quarter and your midterm project involved making a serum that could temporarily improve the performance of one human sense. Around three weeks ago, you and your classmates drew topics from a hat and your fingers emerged with âarousalâ on a piece of paper. Needless to say, you were concerned. You thought the serum project would be fairly straightforward, and had already brainstormed ideas for vision enhancing serums or hearing aid serums, but arousal? You had to think out of the box for that one.
When you finished up your last touches to the serum, you were left with enough time at night to get ingredients to bake Viktor some muffins as a sign of your gratitude. You got enough stuff for twice as much as you wouldâve made for Jayce and actually stuck to the recipe this time. Keeping Viktor happy was a very delicate ecosystem and there could be no tampering.
It wasnât that he was a grump or even that he hated you, he was just too busy to want to help and too intelligent to want to backtrack. Once he had even looked at what you were studying and said, âIâd have to go too far back to help you.â That was inspiring.
You poured the contents of your tote bag on the counter.
On your better days, you and Viktor actually got along quite well. Those were the rare days when Viktor got more than three hours of sleep and ate a full meal before two pm. In his best conditions, the two of you were good friends.
The best days were when he and Jayce both come home early enough for you to make them a home cooked meal. Then youâd all curl up on the couch and watch a movie. The last time that happened, Jayce picked some superhero movie youâd never heard of and you and Viktor both fell asleep. You woke up the next morning asleep on Viktorâs chest with four blankets piled on top of you both. Jayce said he knew both of you ran cold, so he took the blankets from your beds. You and Viktor never talked about that night.
The exhaustion of your stressful Saturday had leaked into your studying Sunday, and in a tired stupor, you whisked together all the ingredients for the muffins and poured them haphazardly into the mold. They might not look pretty, but at least theyâd taste good.
You pulled the freshly baked muffins from the oven and rested them on the stovetop. The sweet aroma of warm blueberry filled the apartment. It must have roused Viktor from whatever he was working on in his room, because he emerged a full quarter of an hour earlier than your agreed upon study time.
âHey,â you said. âI made you some muffins as a thank you. Theyâre still hot, though, I wasnât expecting you for another fifteen minutes.â
âThatâs fine,â he said, setting himself at the kitchen table and sipping from a cup of coffee that had been there since Jayce was still in town. âWould you like to begin now?â
You grab all your study guides and homework assignments and your assortment of chicken scratch notes and slide them over to him on the table.
âAre your midterms cumulative?â He asked, finishing the remnants of his cold coffee.
âNo,â you answered. Thank God. If you had to remember everything that was in the last midterm youâd be losing your mind right about now. âEverything past Arcane History will be on the test.â
âMm. I see.â
He scans your notes for another five minutes.
âIâll quiz you,â he decided, standing up to check on the temperature of the cooling muffins on the stovetop.
âUh, okay.â You didnât typically study by being quizzed, especially when you hardly went to lecture and didnât even know most of the material. But you didnât want to risk arguing with Viktor and have him decide to take his muffin to-go.
âTell me why the Arcane can manifest in such unpredictable manners?â
âBecauseâŠâ you started to think that maybe going to your TA wasnât such a bad idea after all. Your TA was just a random graduate student. The roommate that was helping you study now was one of the inventors of Hextech, the researcher responsible for some of the greatest advancements in Piltoverâs modern understanding of the Arcane. â...it reflects the intentions of the user.â
âCorrect,â he says, affording you a rare Viktor smile. âWould you like a muffin?â
You had intended for the muffins to be entirely Viktorâs, but you hadnât eaten all day and gods, they smelled good. Plus, it was like a reward for getting an answer right.
âSure, thanks.â
You watch as Viktor plucks two muffins from the tin and comes back to seat himself at the table. He hands one to you and sorts through the papers youâve scattered on the desk as he brings a small chunk to his mouth. You do the same.
Something tastes slightly off, but you canât quite put your finger on it. Itâs possible the ratio is off, and in your tired state you added too little vanilla extract or too much vegetable oil. Regardless, theyâre not bad at all.
âYour notes are a little bit difficult toââ Viktor stops before finishing his sentence. He pulls out a sheet of paper from the pile and reads it, his eyes widening a bit as he does.
âWhat? Whatâs wrong?â
âThese notes are from your biochem class,â he says, his eyes flickering up to meet yours for just a few seconds over the piece of paper. âThis is an interesting assignmentâŠâ
âOh,â you feel your cheeks growing hot. âSorry, thatâs not supposed to be in there.â
You reach out to take the paper from him, but he pulls it back as you do. Heâs still reading it. Youâd really like him to stop reading about your own aphrodisiac serum, but your embarrassment is a bit unwarranted. After all, you didnât make the serum because you wanted it, you made it because it was a graded assignment. Nothing more. So what if you did eventually garner interest in the topic. So much interest, in fact, that you did extensive research into the properties your serum could afford and spent long hours in your lab experimenting with it. Shamefully, yes, you had tried some of it. Mainly to test its efficiency but also out of plain curiosity. You had determined that it was safe, most importantly, but youâd also learned that it tasted horrible. To counter that, youâd added someâ
âOh fuck!â You shout as you scoot your chair so far back so quickly that it topples over. You stumble over your bag on the floor as you sprint to the kitchen.
âIs something wrong?â Viktor asks from his seated position.
âDonât eat the muffin!â You exclaim as you run to the counter space next to the stove, your heart pounding.
You confirm your worst fear. The bottle of vanilla extract you picked up from the supermarket sits on the counter, the protective seal still intact. Your arousal serum, however, is halfway empty a few inches beside the extract.
You turn around slowly to face Viktor.
âItâs a bit late for that,â Viktor says, holding up the half of his muffin that remains. âDid something happen?â
You eye your own muffin on the table, half eaten as well.
âFuck, fuck, fuck,â you scrambled back toward the table where Viktor sat, the serum held tight by your hand. âYouâre not allergic to anything, are you?â
âNo,â Viktor says, eyeing you like youâre crazy.
Come on, just get it out already. You have to tell him, it would be morally bankrupt not to.
âI accidentally drugged you.â
Okay, maybe not like that.
Viktor just stared at you, his expression unchanged. You sort of just wished he would yell at you so that you could get the encounter over with, but no such luck. He just sat, unphased, until he picked up the notes he was looking at earlier.
âWith this?â He asks. Even his voice is still even. You knew that if the roles had been reversed you would be fracking out, absolutely bouncing off the walls.
âYes, but donât worry Iâve done lots of research on this serum,â you say, taking the notes from Viktor and looking them over. You read the list two or three times, scanning for any sort of antidote for ingestion. You saw none. âHow could I have not included an antidote?â You mutter, mentally beating yourself up.
âItâs okay,â Viktor said and you couldnât even bring yourself to look up at him from your notes. âIt is safe, yes? It wonât kill us?â
âNo, it wonât, but itâs a powerful aphrodisiac and I added half the serum to those muffins. If my math is right, youâre taking three times the recommended dosage.â
âBut I only ate half the muffin,â Viktor counters. Again, youâre shocked by how unphased he is.
âOkay, then one and a half times the dosage,â you shrug off his comment as you look for anything in your notes that might reveal a way to undo this mess.
âI assume this means you no longer wish to study?â Viktor says.
âHow are you so calm about this?â You finally burst out, slamming the paper down on the table to look at him.
Big mistake.
Once you see him, you become lightheaded and your knees buckle beneath you. You have to sit down to stop yourself from falling over.
âAre you alright?â Viktor asks.
âI-Iâm fine,â you shake your head in an attempt to get some blood flowing to your brain. No luck.
âSince youâre obviously worked up about this, why donât you tell me how it works and then we can go from there.â
âItâs a fast acting stimulant,â you say, burying your face in your hands. âThe chemistry is irrelevant since I have no goddamn cure for it, but it works the same as any other aphrodisiac. It makes you susceptible to arousal and heightens it by three times at a normal dosage, and in our case⊠nearly five times.â
âIntriguing,â he says, eyeing the muffin that lays neglected on the table. âSuch a strange class project. Arenât there moral quandaries to be had for such a substance?â
âYes of course there are, which is why I made it so that it only takes effect if thereâs already a degree of attraction in placeââ
You shouldnât have said anything. Especially not when youâre so clearly affected by it in the presence of Viktor. Way to sell yourself out.
âSo youâre sayingâŠâ
You groan out in frustration, but once you look at Viktor youâre reminded of why you had your face buried in your hands. Somehow every feature of his seems five times more beautiful than you normally regarded them. His perfectly angular nose, his narrowed amber eyes, his messy hair which fell in ways you could never recreate on paperâŠ
âI have a feeling you know exactly what Iâm saying.â You squeezed your eyes shut. If you couldnât see him, he couldnât torture you.
Or so you thought.
A tantalizing graze of his hand on yours shot shivers down your spine. You pulled away so fast that a few of the papers on the desk shifted from the shear force of the wind.
âDonât do that,â you seethed, sucked your teeth as you pressed your eyes shut so hard that you saw stars.
âBecauseâŠit affects you?â His voice was raspy and slow, or maybe thatâs just what the serum was making you hear. Every bit of what he was doing seemed five times as attractive as it would normally be.
Youâd done such a good job at hiding your feelings for Viktor for almost a year now. Being roommates with someone you found incredibly attractive was no easy task. And now all of your efforts were thrown out the window because of a stupid baking mishap.
âYouâre being cruel,â you furrow your eyebrows as you speak, your voice coming out whinier than you wouldâve liked.
âIâm sorry,â he stifles a laugh. âWould you open your eyes?â
âI canât,â you groan, shoving your hands against your face again. âItâs best if I just go to my room and wait it out. Thank you for trying to study with me but Iâm just gonna have to accept a shitty grade tomorrow.â
âYou donât have to do that,â he said, his fingers wrapping around your wrists and pulling them down from your face so that you had to look at him. âItâs been a long time since Iâve taken biochemistry, and I certainly havenât studied aphrodisiacs, but the effects should go away after the serum is put to use, correct?â
You thought back to your experimentation phase. All the nights you spent alone in your lab trying out the efficacy of the serum resulted in the effects dissipating once climax was reached. It had certainly been the least orthodox experimentation phase youâd ever undergone.
âYes, thatâs correct,â you say reluctantly. It takes every ounce of strength you have not to let your eyes explore Viktorâs face, then his long, narrow neck protruding his sweater, his Adamâs apple bobbing with a deep breath, then the sharp clavicle poking fromâ
Get yourself together.
âIf youâre willing to retake the classâa class you should easily pass, given your access to the two most prevalent scientists in the fieldâthen by all means, go to your room.â Viktor pulls his hands away from you, then picks up the muffin, peeling off the paper from the bottom. He picks off a piece and drops it onto his tongue.
âWhat are you doing? Youâre just going to make it worse!â
He smirks at you, then sets the muffin back down. âItâs a very good muffin. Youâre an excellent baker.â
Fuck.
âYouâre playing with me,â you shake your head in disbelief.
âNo, dearest, I am not playing with you,â he says, standing up from his chair, then moving toward you tantalizingly slow. He takes a seat on the table in front of you, then crosses his hands on his lap. âYouâre smart enough to recognize the alternative I am offering to you.â
Your heart stops. You look at his half eaten muffin, although more than half is gone now with the addition of that last bite.
âYouâŠâ The idea is almost impossible for you to grasp, let alone put into words. âYou want to expedite the process?â
âThatâs certainly one way of putting it,â Viktor laughs. He reaches for a strand of your distressed hair and pushes it behind your ear.
âBut youâre not even attracted to me!â
âWhat makes you think that?â Viktor says, retracting his hand, only to place it over yours on the desk.
âBecause if you were, youâd be much more affected right now. I mean, look at me!â You gesture to yourself with your free hand. âIâm a mess! Iâm on the brink of breaking out in a sweat and my hands are clammy and youâre just sitting there!â
Viktor laughs to himself as if heâs in on some kind of inside joke that you know nothing about.
âIâve had lots of practice in concealing my excitement around you,â he finally says, slowly, seductively, the words dripping from his chin as his cold eyes bore into you.
âWhat?â
You know what he said. In fact, you understand it perfectly, but you canât be sure it actually came from his mouth because it seems so perfectly unreal. So dream-like, so idealistic, so fantastical.
âYouâve done a good enough job at hiding your attraction, too,â Viktor says. âI wouldnât have known if it werenât for tonightâs incident. Which is exactly why Iâve felt the need to hide my own.â
âYouâve liked me?â
You still canât wrap your head around the idea.
âIâve admired you,â he smiles, rubbing circles on the back of your hand, reminding you just how potent your little sex serum really is.
In fact, itâs so powerful that you hardly have to put any thought into leaping up from your chair and pushing your lips against his. Before you can third guess his affection, his hands are interlaced with your hair, pushing you deeper into his lips as his tongue begs to be let into your needy mouth.
Now it was clear to see how much the serum had actually affected him. In mere seconds, his hands grabbed at your thighs and pulled you up onto the table to straddle him with strength you didnât even know he possessed. His breathy little moans sent you further into madness and you yanked his sweater off of his head, forcing your mouth off of his for just a few seconds, but once that sweater was off, your lips clung together like magnets.
Deft fingers unbuttoned your long sleeve shirt and he pulled it off your arms so quickly that you worried for a second that he might have ripped it. But you didn't care. You couldnât possibly be concerned with a silly shirt when Viktor was beneath you on the kitchen table like a meal.
The serum didnât exactly allow either of your minds to comprehend much foreplay. You fiddled with Viktorâs belt and he pushed your skirt up to your waist. Once both of you were exposed, he didnât waste any time positioning you above his cock.
âSo wet for me,â Viktor whined against your bare chest. âIs that the serumâs doing or is it mine?â
âYours,â you whimper as Viktor slides his tip beneath your folds. âIf it were anyone else in the room with me when I took the serum, Iâd be unaffected.â
âIâm flattered,â he smiles cruelly as he thrusts up into you.
âOh fuck,â you whine as your rest your heavy head on Viktorâs shoulder.
He brings his hands to your waist and guides you up and down as his hips meet your core in long, languid thrusts. The serum sets every single nerve on fire, making it seem as if each of his thrusts has the impact of twenty.
You moan muffled strangulations of his name into his neck, which only urges him to persist with his cruel thrusts. The sound of your cunt being abused fills the kitchen and youâre wildly thankful that Jayce is out of town.
âIâve wanted this for so long,â Viktor pants. âYou have no idea.â
You really did have no idea. He hid it so well. You silently thanked whatever force had caused you to accidentally throw the serum into the muffin mix.
âSo have I,â you whined against his skin. âFuckâŠdonât stopâŠâ
Each thrust is punctuated by the creaks of the sturdy kitchen table below you. His motions become quicker, shakier, and more intense and you can tell heâs reaching the end along with you. Your legs begin to shake and you feel that familiar tickling sensation in your core that the serum does a beautiful job at emulating.
âViktor, Iâm close, Iâm so fucking close,â you moan as you lift your head from the crook of his neck. You bring your lips to his and he delivers his final thrusts. As he fills you, your moans echo on each otherâs lips, a feeling you never thought youâd experience with your own brilliant roommate.
Your breathing steadies and Viktor wraps his arms around you, bringing you close to him as he tries to collect himself as well.
âYouâŠâ Viktor pants, âare forbidden from using that kitchen ever again.â
You laugh as you bring yourself off of him, pressing a kiss to his lips as you collect yourself. âThat sounds fair to me.â

I think it was a very fascinating and deliberate choice on the creatorsâ part to give the two people closest to JayceâViktor and Melâthe same imagery that evokes the mystery mage who helped Jayce when he was a child.
We see this visual callback first in Viktor, in Act I:
This makes sense, of course, once we know the mystery mage is Viktorâalbeit a future version of himself. But what struck me is the fact that they also gave Mel Medarda the same treatment.
When Jayce first sees her after the awakening of her magic, he sees that imageâa being whose mere presence caused his weapon to light up in recognition, paired with a robe covering their identityâand I think thereâs a great possibility that he asked himself if this was the one; the mage who saved him when he was young.
Once she reveals herself, he visibly relaxes, and they reconnect. But the physical change in her is clear in her body language. She now moves like the mage in Jayceâs memory. She hides her face in her hood often, something she never used to do before. And her mannerisms are slightly different, which could easily be accounted for due to her not being used to the magic now alive in her body. But itâs the change itself that makes the viewer do a double-take.
It could just be that Mel and Viktor are the only mages we see up close in the series. Perhaps it is simply what happens when magic transforms their wielder in subtle, physical ways.
But I think the parallel holds narrative weight as well. The two people with the most affection and influence over Jayce both end up touched by the Arcane in ways that are both transformative and involuntary. The are changed after their bodies become vessels of magic.
I think thatâs why the creators gave both Mel and Viktor the same iconography that would invoke a clear memory from Jayceâs childhood as the symbol that started him on the path to magic.
Viktor actually was the mystery mage from Jayceâs memory, and after the finale, the viewer knows why. But I think, implicitly, the point was that either one of them could have been.

BED CHEM
SUMMARY: viktor x reader // you and mel walk down the hallways of piltover university when suddenly, you encounter two men trying to break into a professorâs laboratory.
AUTHORS NOTE: hiii!! so sorry i havenât posted in a while. season 2 of arcane broke my heart, but it was so cool. anyway, im working on an ashley and ada writing atm, but pls be patient. this is 1.2k words and something i randomly thought of because of a pinterest comment under a photo of viktor
WARNINGS: trying to break into a room, reader is interpreted as feminine because of a long dress and heels, reader is a councilor, not proofread
as a new member of the piltover council, youâve been the busiest youâd been in your life. constant laws to vote on and tedious, frequent meetings could make you feel annoyed at times. however, you made a new friend, who youâve become extremely close with in the past couple of years.
you and mel knew each other when you were younger, just never hung out as much as you do now. despite not having strong connections to one another at a young age, it opposes how you are now. sheâs invited you to her nightly scouting at piltover university.
it isnât an interesting activity to do, but you love hanging out with mel. during these times when you explore the large university for hours, you find much time to converse with the noblewoman. sometimes you and she hold your giggles after telling the other a joke, not wanting to alert a trespasser.
this night doesnât seem to be unlike all the others. you walk down the decorated halls of piltover university with a flashlight in hand. your flowy black dress hangs low to your ankles, and your and melâs heels clack against the tile floor.
you and mel whisper amongst one another, she asks, âhave you had your eye on anyone lately?â smirking softly and side-eyeing you.
you gasp and your cheeks flush, ââcourse not, mel! i just⊠have not found the right person yet, i guess.â your smile diminishes.
your heels continue to clack against the ground, and you feel a cold breeze on your bare arms and leg, exposed due to the slit dress. you shiver and rub your hand on your arm, keeping the flashlight in front of you.
thereâs a moment of silence between you two when mel hesitatingly speaks up, âmaybe jayce has a friend you will feel⊠attracted to.â
âeh, iâll just not do much. maybe let the universe pull me to the right person instead, yeah? i would hate to waste my time on the wrong personââ
she places her arm in front of you, squinting and giving you a look. you tilt your head before you begin to hear voices, and you quietly turn your flashlight off. mel keeps hers on, and the two of you tip-toe closer to the noise. it seems to be close to heimerdingerâs office, if you remember the university layout correctly.
âso far, so goodââ a man with a thick accent whispers, as if trying to hide his actions.
mel turns the flashlight on, and you cross your arms. the two men shield their eyes, and you recognize one as jayce talis. you tilt your head at the sight of the other man with brown hair and a defined jawline, who is turning a key into the door labeled âpf. heimdinger.â
mel taunts, âhmm. willing to risk exile for your endeavor. thatâs quite the conviction.â
âcouncilor!â jayce interrupts, âwhat a surprise to see you, huh?â
then, the mysterious man comes up with an excuse, âwait a minute, this isnât my bedroom. how could i haveâŠâ
jayce stands up from his knees and pleads with you and mel, âplease. we can prove that it works.â
mel comes up with a contradiction as fast as lightning, she hums, âhmm. you couldnât do so earlier today, how is tonight any different?â
âwe figured out how to stabilize it.â the pale man replies.
he eyes are sharp toward the noblewoman until his gaze travels to you. his eyes widen and his cheeks flush, he can feel himself becoming warmer and warmer. you can tell heâs observing you and your actions, as well as your attire.
god, youâre beautiful.
he doesnât say many words over the next couple of seconds, but you smile at him, warming his heart quickly. heâs knocked out of his mind when mel speaks.
âyouâre the professorâs assistant,â she refers to the man with the keys.
jayce disagrees, âno, heâs my new partner.â
you nervously chime in, sticking close to mel, âeven if you manage to prove your theory, the other council members would destroy it.â
âheimerdinger will recognize the potential, miss l/n,â the handsome man says.
he knows your name!
mel scoffs, and sheâs not having any of their crap, âhe already does. it scares him. it scares them all.â
âwhat about you, miss l/n? you are on the council, correct?â jayceâs partner asks. his eyebrows furrow in curiosity, and your heart melts at his eyebrows twitching upwards.
you ponder for a few seconds, staring at him and slickly moving closer to the man. you respond, taking a few moments to think of how to form a sentence in front of such an attractive guy, âi think any worthwhile venture includes risk. and please, call me y/n.â
you hear whistling from the hallway, and you give mel a glance that makes her infer, âwe need to make a decision quickly.â
âcouncilors, this technology, itâs real. and no matter what happens here, itâs going to change our world. we should be the ones to lead it. piltover, the land of progress, equality, innovation. i know it sounds impossible, but when have we ever let that stop us? please, just give us a chance.â jayce explains.
you glance at mel, and you assume sheâs left the decision to you. you reply with a sigh, âone night, you two. i want to see in the morning how you have progressed your technology.â
âthank you, councilor l/n,â the one in the white tie thanks.
you quietly nod and smile, waving to them as mel gently pulls your arm and turns the flashlight off. she goes on to distract and talk to harold, the enforcer. as you step down the hall, you glance behind you to hardly see the nameless man staring at you back. he then gets pulled into the room by jayce, who seems urgent to work on the high-end technology.
as councilor medardaâs flashlight flicks off, and you and mel walk away, viktorâs still standing near the entrance of the laboratory. he sees a shine in your eyes even through the dark hallway, however, he doesnât know if you can see him as well.
he doesnât even notice jayce has unlocked the door until he gets pulled in by the taller man.
âyou were ogling at councilor l/n.â jayce grins, teasing his partner.
âi was not. that would be unprofessional and inappropriate. plus, we are here to work on hextech,â he attempts to change the subject, âwe should get working on it.â
âiâll work with mel to set you two up.â jayce objects, rolling his eyes and chuckling at the slender figure.
viktor couldnât pass up that opportunity.
âwhoâs the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent?â you ask mel, walking away from the enforcer.
she grins at you, showing her perfect teeth, âthat was viktor. and from what i can tell, heâs interested in you.â
as you continue to walk down the hallway, leaving the university to travel toward your bedroom, you go to sleep with a happy feeling in your chest.

I think there's a lot of signs pointing to Jayce actually doing the right thing ...or at least the right thing based on the information available to him at the time.
We can't know for a fact just how much Viktor was changed and what his healing was doing to the people who came to him in the long run, but considering all the hints dropped by the writers, the situation is much less clear than we think. Obviously, everyone's first instinct is to condemn Jayce and his actions, especially because Viktor is one of fan favourites, but looking at the teaser for the next Act and what little we know about what happened to Jayce, I think it might have been necessary evil.
I think this scene of Viktor temporarily 'possessing' Salo in order to talk with Jayce points to just how fucked this little community that Viktor created actually is. There's a reason why everyone's getting those 'it's a freaking cult' vibes.
This scene made me more uncomfortable than anything else this season and I think it's clear that it was meant to make feel that way. There's something so uncanny about Viktor's voice coming out of Salo's mouth, especially paired with that look on his face and how Viktor seems to be able to see and experience things through him in this moment.
And then there's also the issue of all these people dying a horrible drawn-out death as soon as Viktor himself 'dies'. Yes, they came to him on their own, they asked to be healed, but did they really know what they are getting into? Did they know this is what might happen?
Some of them were already dying, true, but Viktor healed all kinds of people, some of whom most likely had their whole lives ahead of them. He, knowingly or not, inevitably sped up this process. Not all of them were consummed by Shimmer-addiction or permanently disabled like Salo.
And then there's also the fact of all of them basically abandoning their previous lives to serve Viktor and his community. Which, okay, makes sense, there's certainly a parallel with the community that Ekko created for Zaunites to keep them safe from Piltover and Silco's plans. They made an informed choice, though, and I don't think the same can be said about Viktor's cult-like commute.
They seem peaceful, yes, but also devoid of personality and entirely dedicated to Viktor and his cause. Of course, it can be explained by gratitude towards him and desire to be kept safe in a calm and peaceful environment, but it's taken to such an extreme point that it definitely crosses the line into uncanny territory in my eyes. Their hivemind behaviour is very unsettling and even though Viktor seems to frame his recent actions as some kind of greater good, I don't think it's necessarily true.
We have yet to find out what Jayce saw and who's in the right and who's in the wrong. Either way, as usual when it comes to Arcane, it seems to me that more than ever, everyone's a victim of the circumstances and tragedy spares no one.
Considering that Viktor is set up to be 'reborn', I can't help but wonder what it means for his community and if they will also be brought to life by whatever connection they have with him. It would be a fascinating choice given how Viktor's arc has always been about autonomy and making your own choices.
Arcane, it's been a pleasure having my heart torn out of my chest by you. Can't wait for the last Act.

I guess why the ending of arcane still doesnât feel real to me and why jayvik moves me so much is because it defies so much of what I was taught to expect by conventional male-dominated, heteronormative narratives. Because at the end of the story, Jayce had everything he should have wanted. Saved the world. Both Piltover and Zaun respected him. He had strength and charisma and the cool magic hammer heâd fantasized about wielding since he was a kid, and his battle scars only made him hotter somehow. And he had a goddess of a woman expressing trust and care for him, and who probably wouldâve liked to get back together with him, at least in some capacity. Meanwhile, characters like Viktor are supposed to die at the end. No matter how sympathetic of a villain he is, the gay disabled guy who irreversibly gave up his humanity to be an evil robot is supposed to self-implode. That character archetype is supposed to redeem himself by taking himself out of the narrative so that the hero can get the happy ending. Someone made a great comparison to the Phantom of the Opera, but this pattern is true for pretty much every mainstream story I can think of. Hell, even Jinx sort of did that, literally ejecting herself from the narrative so that Vi can live in Piltover and get together with Cait. Viktor seemed self-aware of this trope at the end. He had closed his eyes, deciding to accept his own lonely demise if it meant Jayce would live.
But Jayce rejects all of that. The story rejects all of that. And it doesnât even blink twice to do it. Jayce says all I want is my partner back, and he chooses to die holding hands with Viktor instead. And the story says of course Jayce will choose this, because he always loved Viktor and wanted to be with Viktor more than he wanted any of those other things men are supposed to want. More than power, or respect, or sex, or legacy. Just Viktor. Always Viktor. And in the end, Viktor finally embraces that love, accepts and reciprocates it, in allowing Jayce to be with him in his final moments.
Itâs so beautiful and itâs so, so queer. Do not come at me with platonic/romantic discourse because I do not care, I genuinely do not care. The story practically sings with queer love. Itâs undooming him from the ableist patriarchal narrative so you can exchange magic wedding rings and hold each othersâ souls forever in the astral plane. Itâs everything I was afraid to ask for from a story because I never thought I would get it. I still canât quite believe itâs real, and canon, and carved into the very bones of the story. I love it so much.
