As an adult still living in my parents' house, I struggle a lot with the notion of feeling safe and respected.
I exist here still out of a necessity. My mom had a near-death scare when I was about 21 and a choice I made in the moment saved her, so I've always felt a sense of guilt about leaving. She's afraid to not have me here, even almost a decade later.
My presence has worked in our favour over the years - as both of my parents and myself have struggled with various health challenges. But this house doesn't feel like home and I don't feel like myself when I'm here. In fact, I escape elsewhere as often as I can.
Ultimately, I think, it starts to boil down to love languages. Which sounds crazy, I know, but my entire family has different love languages than my own. They all give and receive love in ways that are completely contradictory to my own methods.
I hate to be touched, but both of my parents receive love that way. They'll guilt me into hugs I don't want, or brush their hands against me on the way past, or tap me on the arm randomly without warning. It sets off alarm bells whenever I'm in familial space and the risk of it is imminent. I rush to get ready for work in the morning, hoping that I'll be able to slip out the door before either of them get up to say goodbye to me.
My father gives love in acts of service - my lowest ranked love language. Which is so frustrating for me, someone who is particular and a little Type A who prefers things a specific way, because he doesn't do things right. He'll fold my clothes in the wrong direction or not complete all the steps of a task and then I just have to re-do it anyways. And I know he means well, but he doesn't listen when I ask him to stop.
Which is how it all boils down to this lack of feeling safe or home or respected. My very basic needs for comfort are ignored in favour of what makes them happy. My autonomy is disregarded on a daily basis. And all of it just skyrockets my anxiety to a place that feels uncomfortable and challenging to navigate.
Living like this leads to me working long hours, to blowing money on travel and adventure I can't really afford, to literally wanting to flee the country if only to have the space to exist as my base self. And they're supportive of my desire, yeah, but they still instill the guilt. They've bestowed a responsibility upon me to take care of them without acknowledging what I need to be able to do that.
I know it's not literal harm. I know they are not abusing me or causing trauma or really doing anything but being themselves and doing the best they know how. But it is so suffocating. And fascinating, really, that it circles back to something so unbelievably basic.
I wish I knew a concrete way to change any of it.

All I Need
My Hero Academia
Pairing: Reader x Hawks
Warnings: Reader Moves to Japan, Female Reader, Fluff, Quirkless Reader, Minimalist Hawks
Summery: Upon moving to Japan, the Reader meets and makes a quick friend, which over the years turns into more.
Inspired by @keigxo @mukagentropy
Also posted on Ao3 part 2 maybe? I wanted to do more, as I have weak resolve but I'm still happy with this as a Stand-alone fic.
Story:
When you had moved to Japan, you were highly clueless and found yourself wondering around for a 7/11. You applied for a visa due to working at a nearby agency. Quirkless. Which wasn’t a big deal to you, but with a society that was almost 80% quirks with an undetermined amount of villains with unregistered quirks could be found overwhelmed easily.
You stepped behind someone with red wings, waiting for your chance to get yourself a coffee before you decided what to get to eat. The man stretched out his wings accidentally bumping you, causing him to jump. “Oh sorry I didn’t know someone was behind me!” He turned slightly and you saw that he was blond.
You gave a soft giggle, “Don’t worry about that, accidents happen.”
“You like black coffee?”
You blinked, “Like is questionable, but it’s what I’m planning on getting.”
“I’ll get it for you as an apology for bumping you.”
Your eyes widened, and he watched your face like a hawk. “Oh no, it’s really not a big deal…”
He only grinned, “I insist!”
You were eighteen at the time. You found out he was prohero that just made his debut, and oddly didn’t live too far from you. So the two of you often bumped into each other at the same 7/11, and other local coffee shops.
He went by Hawks, and was quite charming. The two of you ended up hanging out often on his time off which really wasn’t much. You offered to make him home cooked meals if he ever was in the need of it, instead of having takeout constantly, since he was always working.
The two of you became fast friends at that point. Although with Hawks he couldn’t help but be slightly suspicious, wanting to know what you wanted out of the friendship. Yet at the same time, he felt drawn to you, and he couldn’t explain a thing, other than accepting his fate.
He knew it was a small crush, he didn’t know how to deal with that. He was taken in by the government and raised to be a good little Hero, he wasn’t taught anything about handling his feelings, and actually acting on them.
About five years have passed since then and generally anytime he was free, he spent it at your place. He’d offer to entertain you at his but, you would get the wrong idea.
Hawks had an Efficiency apartment. One room which had a bed, and a small empty kitchen.
It’s not like he needed anything else, his apartment was to sleep. There was no point of going back to it unless he was tired.
Yet he kept being drawn more and more to your place, and you jokingly stated that he should move in with you at that point while you were breading some chicken. This caused his eyes to widen at that. You tasted the teriyaki sauce you made, and hummed, “Then again, it would make sense, you’re usually always over here. I’m more than comfortable with you. I’ve been sleeping on the couch too much, so my bed is going to waste, and that way if you decided to bring someone back, you wouldn’t have to worry about me barging in.” You teased.
Hawks gave a small smile. It was always this little dance with you. Hawks was yours and you knew it. He’d never bring anyone back. He walked up to you from behind and hugged you, laying his head ontop of yours comfortably. “Coming back to a Pretty Bird and a nice meal sounds nice too. You drive a hard bargin.” He caught your face darken at that.
The two of you were together, but never said that you were, never proclaimed anything. You just were, it was a mutual understanding. Company was highly appreciated from both sides. You’ve kissed his cheek from time to time out of gratitude and showing affection, he would nuzzle your neck and kiss the top of your head.
There haven’t been actual full blown kisses, you two hadn’t had sex. Neither of you were opposed to it, but this…this was enough.
The next day he brought two boxes, max. You were dumbfounded, asking what they were for. “It’s my stuff, you offered me to move in right?”
“I thought you would have…a lot more…like 20 boxes… did…you have nothing at your place but clothes?”
Hawks only smiled as he walked forward, hugging you from the front, and encasing you with his wings. Nuzzling your neck, he smiled into your skin, as your body shivered as he spoke, “I don’t even need those, as long as I have you…”
Your heart lerched, and you hugged him back just as tightly and lovingly as he was holding you. “What do you even do with your money that you get from your pro Hero Work?”
Hawks hummed, “I have enough saved away for a comfortable retirement. I donate the rest. Buuut…” he pulled away flashing you a smile, “I may be spending more on you.”
You flushed, shaking your head, “I…only need you as well.” You watched his eyes eyes widened, before he cupped your face, and leaned in to kiss you softly on the lips. “Hawks…”
Hawks gulped, pulling you in tighter, “Keigo.” He sighed, “You can call me Keigo…but only in this apartment. I’m Hawks outside of it. If you’re okay with that.”
You nodded, “More than okay with that, Keigo.” You watched as you noticed that you saying his name affected him in someway.

How to be a US Pharmacist if you’re a Philippine Registered Pharmacist.
Tumblr media
(Overview of the process ⬆️)
Maraming nagtatanong sa page ko kung paano daw maging US Pharmacist as a Filipino Pharmacist. Kaya, I'll just create a one big post about it. Oo nga pala, it's really hard to get a work visa/sponsorship from the US kung foreign pharmacist ka.
So, kung wala kang way na makapunta ng US to legally work (like a petition, etc) it'll be difficult (Unlike sa mga nurses). I'm no visa expert and won't be able to answer any at all.
but if you're already in the US (as a citizen/permanent resident) and you have a BS Pharmacy degree from the Philippines, here's for you!
First, let's talk about qualifications:
1. You have to be a licensed pharmacist in your home country first. kailangan, board passer ka muna sa Philippines. HINDI REQUIRED ang ANY work experience to qualify for the exam.
2. Your education should be a MINIMUM of 5- years if you graduated after Jan 1, 2003. Kapag 4 years lang natapos, you'll have to go back to school for another year (CLINICAL PHARMACY) or PharmD (plus 2 years). NO EXCEPTIONS. again, di naman mandatory ang pharmD. Okay na yung clinical pharmacy. Also, Not MS/PhD kasi i-evaluate siya case by case and hindi guaranteed to qualify.
Pero kung grumaduate ka before ng Jan 1, 2003, you can take the exam with a 4-year degree as long as you passed the other requirements like TOEFL, good standing w/ your license sa PH, etc.
After meeting the education requirements, no need to study again in the US.
For me, I graduated sa CEU-Manila noong 2015. Kulang yung 4- years na degree ko kaya I went back to school noong 2020-2021 (Clinical pharmacy). I'll link below my experience a full-time student sa Philippines while also working full-time in Texas.
Let's talk about the exams you need to take:
1. TOEFL (ENGLISH TEST) - there are minimum scores you need to achieve. Kahit offered ang TOEFL sa Philippines, it's only acceptable by the US kapag tinake mo siya mismo sa US territories or parts of Canada. You can take this exam with a US tourist visa. TOEFL ha, not IELTS. You can take this anytime kasi 2 years naman ang validity niya.
2. FPGEE (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam). Itong exam na ito ay para sa mga Pharmacists educated outside of the USA. Kahit sa Philippines ka grumaduate, or UK, or Canada, Australia, SAME EXAM for EVERYONE. You need to pass this exam in order for you to INTERN sa desired state mo. This exam is usually administered ONCE A YEAR DURING FALL. You can take this exam with a tourist visa. Btw, it is important to say na kahit na qualified ka na to take the FPGEE, it doesn't guarantee your US tourist visa acceptance. kaya plan accordingly.
question about how to apply? please join the PH FPGEE support group. I already posted the detailed instructions on how to file your application. here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/filipinofpgeesupport/
Next step is INTERNSHIP. Once you passed TOEFL and FPGEE you're given an FPGEC certification which is a requirement for foreign pharmacists to start Internship! With internship, US tourist visa is not allowed anymore. You need to have a work visa na. Yung required hours ay depende sa state kung saan ka mag-wwork. Example sa California ay 1500 hours. Sa Texas ay 1740 hours. CHECK your RESPECTIVE state's Board of Pharmacy.
3. NAPLEX (North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination). Ito pa lang mismo ang US Pharmacy Boards. I've shared to you my experience when I took it. Ito yung exam na tinatake ng mga FPGEE passers after internship and PharmD graduates ng US. Please see my posts about sa details ng exam and my experiences. I'll link them below.
4. The last exam is MPJE/CPJE. Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® aka the LAW EXAM. Kahit naipasa mo yung NAPLEX pero hindi yung MPJE, you won't be able to practice as a US Pharmacist. This is a very tricky exam and it should not be taken lightly.
after you take these exams + Internships, you're now a US Pharmacists!! Good luck everyone and I encourage you to read the official BULLETINS only from the NABP site. Sila lang ang naglalabas ng official requirements and wag maniwala sa mga sabi-sabi.
If you have any questions except VISA, feel free to message me as I have taken all the exams na. I'm here to help yo Pero before you ask anything, please read this "frequently asked questions": https://theilustrado.com/faqforcc Any repeating questions won't be answered kasi nakalagay naman na diyan. 🙂

Fender Bender - 2
"Alreet bonny lad?" one of them said. He was the tallest one of them. His shoulders broad, and his hair all over the place. She couldn't really make him out in the dark, but his voice and the odor of the boys had let Clementine to believe, that he was a smoker. "I'm sorry?" she asked quietly. And then there was, what seemed like, an "aha"-moment in the group, who now realized why, they hadn't seen Clementine before. She wasn't Geordie. "Oh," the boy started, "are you okay?". The question struck Clementine like lightning. She didn't really feel anything. She hadn't felt anything for a few years, so when the tall man asked, and the rest of the group were waiting for an answer, Clementine blurted a quick "I'm fine", as if it was an automatic reaction in her nervous system. "Ya need a ride or summat?" another one of them said. He had longer, curly hair, and had a wit to his movements and his voice. "Um, no," Clementine started, but didn't know how to finish, "not by strangers anyway". She tried to use her only defense mechanism, joking. Or, at least trying to. Not even a chuckle from the boys. This left Clementine uneasy, who fiddled with her backpack, now looking down, trying to find a way out of this conversation.
"You're new here, aren't ya?" one of them said, but she wasn't sure who. "Y-yeah", she stuttered, not knowing where this was leading. "And you were looking for Red Box Hotel?". "I was", Clementine answered with a questioning sound in her voice, "how'd you know?". Clementine was now looking up, seeing that it was the tallest one, who was speaking to her again. "It happens. They love to scam people, like", he chuckled to himself, "you're not the first to be stranded here". "Well, I'm glad you haven't stalked my bookings," Clementine said quickly, feeling a little relief, "and that I'm not the only one". "So," he said, "need a ride?". Clementine thought hardly. She did need a ride. A ride back home to Denmark. She didn't know what she was doing here. She had applied for a work visa, and got accepted, but this meant that she first had to find a job, and if she didn't have a job, she wouldn't even be able to afford a place to sleep.
"I do need a ride" Clementine almost whispered. "Reet, let's go then!" he said in an uplifting manner. "Where are we driving ya?" the man with the cap, who earlier had pointed Clementine out said. "Uh, yeah, I had hoped you could help me out with that", Clementine answered, now getting up from the suitcase. She still couldn't make out the men's faces, but she had gotten a better idea of how they moved and sounded. "I don't really have anywhere to stay," Clementine admitted, "you all must know some cheap place I can crash, 'till I get everything sorted". She hated asking for help, and this encounter was exactly the opposite of what she was looking forward to here, but nevertheless, she felt almost obliged to seek their help. The men looked at each other, discussing different places that had open or had an affordable price range, but nothing really seemed to come from it. Nevertheless, the group, with Clementine, continued to walk to, what Clementine assumed, was a parking lot.
"I got it!" the broad-shouldered boy said, "You can stay with us". "Us?" Clementine asked, "all of you live together, and you have room for one more?". "Nah, I mean like, us, as in me,", he spoke, and even though it was dark, Clementine could clearly make out a dorky smile in his pronunciation, "but ya need to learn some Geordie before you can step into my home, like". He chuckled, Clementine chuckled, and the rest of the group did too. It was a brief moment of airiness that Clementine had longed for, especially on a day like this. "That's really nice of you," she said, tuning the tone to seriousness, "but I can't accept that, I don't even know your name". "Sam," the boy turned on his heel with his hand out, and Clementine almost tripped in this sudden movement, "Sam Fender; problem solved, you can stay with me". Clementine gave out a breath of a chuckle before shaking his hand, and said "Clementine, Clementine Meyer; and no, that does not solve the problem". She spoke with such joy in her voice, almost as if her body was longing after a friendly conversation with anyone. She suddenly heard a collection of "C'mmans" from the rest of the group. "Do you seriously not know any other place for me to stay?" Clementine asked one last time, knowing that staying with a stranger probably wasn't her best decision. "Nah," Sam said holding his hand to his chest and the other up in the air, "I swear". "In the morning, we'll research, and find ya a nice and cheap hotel, deal?" he asked. "Alright", Clementine answered. "Alreet" Sam repeated, clearly smiling.
Soon, they all got to the parking lot, and the members of the group, who Clementine now knew as Joe, Dru and Dean, said their goodbyes, before Clementine was left alone with Sam. "Get in," Sam gestured, "it won't bite". He had clearly noticed Clementine's fidgeting and looking from side to side. She got in, acknowledging the actual stupidity of her choice. If she was getting kidnapped, she thought, at least she was aware of it. When she finally got in the front seat of the car, Sam turned to her, which made her jump a little, and he showed a sign of concern. "Ya know, if you're uncomfortable with this," he stopped, and sighed, "I divvina, maybe I can call a cab or summat, but it's really late, like, and I honestly don't even know where you should go". Clementine started tearing up, but she didn't know why. She was suddenly scared, but also ashamed, that she had made Sam, who seemingly just wanted to help her, feel this way. It was very ambivalent. "No, I-," Clementine faced the front window now, before hesitantly putting on her seat belt, "thank you, Sam". Sam looked her up and down with a concerned look on his face, before putting his own seatbelt on, and turning on the car. The whole ride to Sam's place was silent, except when Clementine had asked, if she was allowed to roll down her window, in which Sam thought she was joking.
Sam lived in a small house. It had a little garden, that, in the darkness, wasn't exactly easy to decipher. Both Sam and Clementine were still silent, until Sam unlocked the front door, and silently invited her to come in. Clementine bent down, to untie her shoes, until Sam pivoted his head to the side and furrowed his brows, before saying: "Ya don't have to take them off". "But," Clementine looked up, "they're dirty". "So is the floor" Sam admitted and gave a little side smile. "I'm gonna take them off," Clementine answered, "is that okay?". "Aye, of course, Clementine" he said, walking right past her, not bothering to take his own off. "'Reet, this is the hallway", Sam then gestured with his hand, after Clementine had put her shoes to the side, "very small, I know". Clementine smiled as an answer, and Sam returned the favor. Sam showed her the rest of the small house, recognizing that she was getting more and more comfortable along the tour. Clementine had slowly started to realize, the risk Sam had taken himself, letting in a stranger in his house. "And this is what's supposed to be a guest room" Sam said, as the two of them walked into the last room. It was completely empty. Other than a bed, there was nothing. Well, cans of empty beers on the floor, but those were everywhere; everywhere, except for what appeared to be his home studio, that was filled to the rim with guitars. He had informed her that he was a musician. "Sorry about the mess again" Sam quickly said, before collecting them, like he had done in every other room. "That's okay, Sam," Clementine answered and smiled, "this is perfect". They just smiled at each other, and that moment, was the first time, where Clementine could see Sam's face properly, and she was, almost too clearly, intrigued by it. He had messy, light brown hair, that looked like an outgrown mullet. His eyes were to the bigger side and blue, that reminded her of the sky in Denmark, during that one sunny day of the year. They were clearly tired, with bags under them, and still, they beaked of excitement and youth. Clementine felt almost ashamed of her own boring brown eyes, that had always been so much older, than her age. Over his eyes were dark brown, thicker eyebrows that gave his face a daunting structure. His nose was sharp, with a tiny bump on the bridge of it. His lips were very pink, just like his cheeks, which she assumed was from exhaustion. It was almost two in the midnight. His cheeks caved in with a few lines around his mouth in this smiling position, giving him a softness, yet his jaw was still sharp. Sam suddenly dropped one of the beer cans, and like a finger snap, they both awoke from each other's gazes. "I'll let you be now," he suddenly said, "call me if you need anything, and if you feel uncomfortable, you can always leave anytime, you'd like". And then he left and closed the door. Clementine stood there for a second, taking in, what had just happened, and then decided to open the door and poke her head out of the opening, and with a slightly raised voice, said: "Hey, Sam?". She heard quick footsteps towards the guest room. Almost, as if he was running. Sam was there within a second and with raised eyebrows, he said: "aye?". "Thank you" Clementine said. "No worries, pet" he had answered, before giving her a huge grin, and turning around. "Goodnight" Clementine said to his back. Sam turned his face to her door and gave her a small "'night".
The next morning, Clementine had never felt so well-rested before. The bed was hard as stone, but that didn't stop her. Although well-rested, she still had awoken, as if just from a nightmare, taking a minute or two, to remember where she was. And then she went to see what time it was, but her phone wasn't there. She furrowed her brows and threw the duvet to the side of the bed, to see if it was under it. But it wasn't. So, she checked under the pillow. Not there either. Clementine's palms were starting to get moist, as she slowly got off the bed, that creaked loudly. She was looking from left to right, trying to remember, where she put it. And then she remembered that she had placed it at the windowsill, so she let out a small breath, smiled and hurried to the window. But to her surprise, it wasn't there either. Her palms were getting sweaty again, and she was considering running out of the window and get help. Sam had clearly taken her phone, so she couldn't contact anyone, she thought, while picking her scalp under her long brown hair. So, when she went to check, if her bedroom door was unlocked, her mind did not leave one possibility out, expecting the worst. And then she placed her hand on the doorknob, heart beating a million miles an hour.

How to Get Australian PR as an Indian Accountant.
Tumblr media
Indian accountants interested in obtaining a Permanent Residency (PR) visa in Australia typically follow the General Skilled Migration (GSM) pathway. Here is a general guide on the steps to pursue Australian PR as an accountant:
1. Skills Assessment:
Obtain a skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for accountants in Australia. The assessing authorities often include CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (ICAA), or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). The skills assessment is crucial to demonstrate that your qualifications and experience align with Australian standards. If you are not sure about the requirement to get assessed positive, you can consult with an Aptech visa consultant at 750-383-2132.
2. English Language Proficiency:
To Get Australian PR you must meet the English language proficiency requirements by taking an accepted language test such as IELTS. The minimum required score may vary, so check the specific requirements of the visa subclass you are applying for.
3. Submit Expression of Interest (EOI):
Once you have a positive skill assessment now you can Lodge an Expression of Interest through the SkillSelect system. Provide details about your skills, qualifications, work experience, and other relevant information. Your EOI will be given a points score based on various factors like age, qualifications, work experience, and English language proficiency.
4. Points and Invitation:
Score the required points to receive an invitation to apply for a visa. The minimum points required may vary, and factors such as age, qualifications, work experience, and English proficiency contribute to your overall points.
5. Apply for a Skilled Migration Visa:
Once you receive an invitation, you can apply for a Skilled Migration visa. The two common subclasses for accountants are
the Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent visa) and
the Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated visa).
The 189 visa is for independent skilled migrants, while the 190 visa requires nomination by a state or territory government.
6. Health and Character Requirements:
Meet health and character requirements by undergoing medical examinations and providing police clearance certificates.
7. Wait for Visa Decision:
After submitting your application, wait for the Department of Home Affairs to process your visa. Processing times can vary.
It's important to note that immigration policies can change, and the information provided here is based on the situation as of my last update in Feb. 2024.
