Savannah Speculation
So, Team Wild Fang wasn’t always the representatives of the entire African continent. They originally started off just as the reps from a fictional country called Savannah. Now, the information we are really told about this country sums up to this: it’s small, poor, has very few people, and really, really needs trade partners.
Out of all the groups we see, they are one of two groups with blended blended countries of origin (Kyoya and Benkei from Japan, Nile hinted at from Egypt, and Demure from a primarily grasslands country), the other being the EU representatives.
However, unlike Team Excalibur, they only started out being representative of one country, who apparently had so few bladers that they had to turn to opening the selection tournament to make a mark on the global stage.
So what’s the backstory of Savannah? What put the small country in such a tight spot? And where in Africa is it even located? Well, with a little research and a whole ton of hyperfixation, I believe I have a pretty solid theory.
One: Savannah’s Location
We are told that Savannah is a small African country. However, since Africa is the second largest continent, that really does not help us much. All it did was eliminate the other continents.
Tumblr media
The first hints towards Savannah’s exact location are its climate. The area around Rock City (the location of the selection tournament), appears to mostly fall into the semi arid type of climate. Therefore, we can cancel out all areas that are purely arid or grassland, leaving us with this search area.
Tumblr media
Now that doesn’t look as helpful as it actually is, because our darling dearest Beyblade loves dramatic opening shots. And from that, we know there is a more arid are of the country as well, further narrowing it down to places with both. And Kyoya walks through a more arid area, however, it is primarily rocks, not just sand. Which is a huge clue, as there are four deserts within Africa that have a large amount of rocks in them: The Kalahari, The Karoo, The Chalbi, and The Guban. These narrow our map of possible locations to look like this.
Tumblr media
Now, we are looking at exactly five countries that could have given up some of their land to form Savannah. In the south, we have Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa. And in the east, we have Kenya and Somalia. I’m going to go ahead and eliminate South Africa off this list as it rejoined the British Empire after the end of Apartheid in 1994, which is really recent, as well as it being a huge and well known country around the world so it would likely remain untouched.
Next to go is Botswana. This is mainly due to how it is hinted that Wild Fang arrived in Japan by boat. Now, I understand that they were likely coming from India, but we also see Rock City. That is Savannah’s capital and if they had an airport, it is likely to be there. But we see no signs of one, so I’m choosing to believe their main mode of transport off the continent was boat and Botswana is landlocked.
Now we’re down to Namibia, Kenya, and Somalia. Now we focus on the other aspects of Savannah we know. That it’s really, really, poor. That eliminates Namibia off the list in my opinion because they are already well know in the diamond industry and any splinter country off them would likely immediately be absorbed into it as well. So we’re down to Kenya and Somalia.
Kenya does have a larger GDP than Namibia. However, Kenya has a large amount of tourism industry in its borders, which functions (according to what i read) as one of its primary sources of income. A splinter country would not have that infrastructure ready and judging by how all officials we see are in military-esque uniforms, the country is pretty new. It would have to rely on another main source of income that is common in Kenya, agriculture.
Somalia has the lowest GDP of the final two countries and its main source of income is agriculture, specifically livestock. Easier to set up in a young country, and decently easy to integrate into the trade market of, agriculture is my best guess on what Savannah’s main export is.
Now you are realizing that both of those countries seem to fit all the requirements, and you’d be right. So here’s my final purposed location for Savannah: right in-between the two.
Tumblr media
The semi arid and arid climates line up perfectly, as does the naval transportation and rocky deserts. Savannah is a newly formed country between Kenya and Somalia.
Two: Savannah’s Origins
We’re into the speculation section now.
I’ve mentioned Savannah as a newly formed country a few times, and this is mainly due to unlike nearly every other county, it does not have trade partners. It has no economic support from others and is clearly struggling. They do not care about accurately representing their country’s culture (ie the open to all selection tournament). And that could be because they don’t have a single central country culture yet. The country is still setting into its new role as one, and any representative would settle into that role with it, so it does not matter their country of origin (and the rep team probably were granted citizenship as soon as they were selected, meaning they are now at least dual citizens there).
Another hint that the country is really newly formed is that fact that all officials we see are in military clothing. Now, government officials with military backgrounds aren’t odd, but literally every official we see are in uniform. That’s really common after a fight for independence in particular, as people seen as hero’s are likely to get elected into office.
So, they recently won a war or battle of some kind for independence and are still coming up with their identity. They are very accepting of outside aid at the current moment (due to financial situations). It is also likely that they flourished during the World Championships and are in much better shape than when we first see them due to Wild Fang’s success.
Purposed Savannahian Stuff
National Animal: Lion (Hence the team name being Wild Fang since we see names being chosen for teams)
National Plant: Acacia Trees (The only large plants there we see)
National Languages: Swahili, Somali, Arabic, and English
Citizen’s Title: Savannahian
Exports: Agriculture (primarily livestock and fish) and Natural Resources (jewels)

Most chaotic MFB Beyblade AU to pop up into my head. Part 3: Metal Fury
Part 1: https://www.tumblr.com/eternalnexuswarrior/745518197057404928/most-chaotic-mfb-beyblade-au-to-pop-up-into-my?source=share
Part 2: https://www.tumblr.com/eternalnexuswarrior/745524457497591808/most-chaotic-mfb-beyblade-au-to-pop-up-into-my?source=share
And then… Metal Fury. Ho boy, this is a wild ride.
Dynamis explains what happened with the star fragment, as his arcs’ episodes showed he was the one to split the star fragments, but didn't know where they went. So when Kyoya and Gingka revealed their beys evolved, he starts freaking out. And then when Ryuga and Yuki's beys are evolved, that's when he comes to the conclusion.
Dynamis: Did the star fragments literally go to every single one of us? Like is this the reason we are linked together?!
Gingka: Only one way to find out. Road Trip!
Thus starts the journey to find the other legendary bladers, except Ryutaro joins in with the group. Canon events happen, with some changes. The boys meet up with Aguma and Bao in the tournament (with Bao knowing the whole story, those two have a brotherly bond and you can't convince me otherwise). Johannes goes after them to recruit the beylin fist without knowing Aguma and Bao are already on the Legendary Bladers’ side, and the two decide heck it, let's spy on them, because it's gone well in the past. Next is to New York for Destroyer Dome, where we learn some new details about some of the boys. Dynamis wasn't too happy about the temple holding VariAres being destroyed.
Dynamis: “You destroyed your family's temple?”
Kyoya: “You're so screwed.”
Gingka (slightly terrified): “I don't think I've ever heard Dynamis this mad before.”
Yeah... don't destroy temples around the historian/lorekeeper/guardian. He's not a happy person when you do that.
Anyways!
The boys finally get to Mist Mountain, run into Ryuto, and scale the mountain. Via their spying, Aguma and Bao get into some battles, Johannes starts getting into Kyoya's head. Canon events continue up until the end, where instead after Kyoya leaves the temple, he just goes outside to take a breather. The other legendary bladers are there to pick up the pieces of Kyoya's emotions, and eventually Kyoya stays the night before parting to help find Tithi. Both Tithi and Chris’ searches fall around the same time frame, and everyone is happy. Except for one thing.
Pluto.
He barges in on the middle of this happy group and activates Dynamis’ curse like the smug little man he is. This puts all the legendary bladers on high alert to get to Nemesis’ revival site to save their friend. Some battles happen as Canon, although some interactions are adjusted for this AU. At some point it goes from the standard Chris VS Gingka, Yuki VS Cycnus, Dynamis VS Kyoya, and Aguma VS Tithi to Aguma, Kyoya, and Tithi teaming up to save Dynamis, and Gingka, Yuki, and Chris just wrecking Cycnus and causing mayhem.
Now where is Ryuga in all this?
Still training to get stronger and master L-Drago, and Kenta is determined to recruit Ryuga to help. The Sagitarrio blader took Ryuga's not willing to join in on the search as him not helping his friends (when it's really the opposite, Ryuga just isn't one for big groups). Eventually the misunderstanding is cleared up, and Kenta actually grows on the L-Drago blader. All the while he's just giving commentary on the whole thing.
Ryuga: Gingka your friend is not half bad as a blader as he thinks he is. He cracked L-Drago's face bolt this time.
Gingka: Oh wow! That's some strength!
The remaining events in the temple fall under Canon, Doji returns (and is the menace that he is except he throws his own bey in there to bait Ryuga to breaking formation). Ryuga actually stays with the group while they all heal, but still gets badly injured during the final battle and gives Kenta his star fragment (he's living though, screw the anime on that). The final battle happens and they all recover again together. Kenta ends up linked to their group during the final battle, and he's not expecting the chaos of it all in the days after that.Part 3 will probably cover personality differences and AU changes for our boys.

for the oc asks!! how about 'Which canon character does your OC respect a lot?' with Juno?? :0c
OOO FUN
This is interesting bc like, I dunno man juno likes everyone!! trying to think about it from a more specific standpoint, the immediate two that come to mind are kite and Sakyo bc of how much those two are tied to her character development. They’re the two main characters in her arc that cause him to start taking beyblade more seriously and push themself harder, be it because of their strength or because of how much more deeply they are able to read her compared to most others (and both of those go for both of them). Juno is a very charming person but a lot of people don’t see and don’t try to see more to them so Sakyo and kite both being able to understand a lot more of her motivations and personality and challenging her on it and providing her with a different kind of dynamic than she’s used to is something I think he would really respect.
More generally, i think they’d definitely respect Zyro bc I mean Zyro just kinda has that effect on most people, same goes for Madoka, benkei, and Tsubasa probably. I like the idea of most kids and post-fury characters having a favorite legendary blader or one they look up to the most and I haven’t really been able to choose one for juno, though I think gingka, yuki, and Tithi would probably be some of the top contenders.

MFB: Solar Swap AU Basic Character Information
Figured I don’t talk about the Solar Swap AU in detail enough, so I’m going to do that here and provide some brief descriptions on the different people and the ideas I have right now.
For those who don’t know, Solar Swap AU is an alternate universe where the Nemesis Bladers and the Solar System Bladers switch roles (ie: Nemesis Bladers are the good Legendary Bladers and Solar System Bladers are working for Nemesis). Metal Fusion and Metal Masters are basically follow the same events with maybe one or two very minor detail changes (Hades Inc. called Zeus Inc. instead)
The AU mainly revolves around Pluto and Dynamis, who have had a rivalry/feud for many years, both over who has the better company and over Nemesis. Solar Swap follows Pluto, Gingka, and his friends as they search for the legendary bladers to stop Dynamis and Nemesis.
Now, onto the basic descriptions for the people that have been changed:
Pluto
CEO of Hades Incorporated. Pluto is the Legendary Blader of well, Pluto (he refers to himself as a Legendary Blader of Hades, not like it’s much better since that is his last name too). His second-in-command and best friend is Johannes. He has had his rivalry against Dynamis since he was a youth. Much like his canon counterpart, he is the direct descendant of King Hades and a strong advocate for Hades’ Law. He is the one that explains the whole situation to Gingka and the others, leading them to go on their search for the rest of the Legendary Bladers.
Dynamis
CEO of The Olympus Corporation. Dynamis may wield Jade Jupiter here, but his end goal is to revive and use Nemesis as a means of ending the world. There is no “I will take over and rule the world”, he just wants to get rid of everything. He employs the rest of the Solar System Bladers (Yuki, Tithi, King, Aguma) to do his bidding. He is responsible for orchestrating all the events of Fusion and Masters. Dynamis is a descendant of King Zeus in this alternate universe.
Johannes
Pluto’s best friend and bodyguard. He may not be a Legendary Blader, but his skill and battle mastery is not to be underestimated. He often accompanies Pluto to keep him safe from harm, but sometimes is tasked with quite mundane tasks every now and then. He is the older brother of Motti.
Yuki
The second-in-command of Dynamis, he wields Mercury Anubis and his magical abilities to take down anyone who gets in his way. He has his own rivalry with Johannes and the other members within Olympus Corporation. He often finds himself confronting Pluto, Gingka and company as they try to look for the star fragments.
King and Tithi
Both were hired by Dynamis to work for the Olympus Corporation. Thanks to their exceptional talent in Beyblade, they have quickly rose the ranks within the company. Despite that, because of their young age and kinder nature, they’ve been left in the dark when it comes to information about Nemesis’s revival. They get along and look up to Dynamis a lot, not realizing his true plans for the world.
Aguma and Bao
Being offered to make the Beylin Fist the top school in the blading world, they have been working for Olympus Corporation as leaders of the defense division. They are responsible for training new recruits as part of the agreement made between them and Olympus Corporation. They were promised to be a part of the world takeover, but are not aware of the complete destruction aspect. The two of them still participate in ToRyumon to search for the legendary bladers.
Herschel
A wandering vagrant and the Legendary Blader of Uranus. He goes where the winds take him, and that leads to him being the ToRyumon partner for Johannes after Gingka takes Pluto as his blading partner instead. Herschel joins the group until Destroyer Dome, where he departs with Keyser to continue the search. He eventually reconvenes with the group during Beyster Island.
Keyser
The Legendary Blader of Musca, he is a detective tasked with investigating the Olympus Corporation for suspicious activity due to their connection with Zeus Incorporated. He participates in Destroyer Dome to see if he can find more information, but is found by Pluto and the others. He ends up going along with Herschel to continue their investigation. He joins back with everyone else during the Beyster Island tournament.
Cycnus
The Legendary Blader of Cygnus. He is Dynamis’s top blader and the one he sends for the toughest and most grueling missions due to his aggressive and unforgiving nature. Cycnus is the one that fights against Pluto, Rago, and Kyoya during the Neptunis Island Incident (similar to Mist Mountain). Cygnus’s existence has been completely hidden from the public, much akin to a trump card. He ends up moving to the side of good after he is betrayed by Dynamis during the revival ceremony.
Rago
The Legendary Blader of Neptune, he is a lighthouse keeper in a small town. He spends a lot of his time preserving and researching information related to the old kingdom of Atlantis. With the arrival of the star fragments, Rago goes off to Neptunis Island, that still has remaining technology from the old kingdom of Atlantis. He uses the old magic canon to shatter the star fragment so that the pieces wouldn’t fall into Dynamis’s hand. He used to know Dynamis when he was a young child, but the friendship fell apart after Rago left with his family to live elsewhere. Rago is forced to work with Dynamis after getting cursed to do his bidding, but is eventually let go after the spell is broken by the Legendary Bladers.
-
That is all I have for just the character information. I won’t dump this in Metal Record because if I do write Solar Swap, I want it to be its own fic or separate entity. I have, SO MUCH more information, but I would need individual posts for that. If people are interested in this AU, please feel free to message me or send an ask because I’d love to answer questions that people have.

How metal fury could have been better ( mixed with manga lore )
It is already started in season 1 that l drago was made from a dark meteor while everyone else beys where made with the light meteor ( the power shared millions of times ). In season 2 its Stated that ryuga got the power of the cosmus ( full meteor power ) unlocked. That is why he can transform with his own Power while other beys need to get Upgrades ( in the manga l drago Transformed multible times with his own power ). Than in season 3 a new meteor comes along and Split his power in 10 times. If i use math l drago got 1 full and 1/10 star power = 11/10 and every one else got 1,5/10 star power. In the manga he wasnt a legendary blader because he didnt need to be to already be at their Level ( surpassing it )
So in season 3 he should have transformed l drago on his own like he claimed with gingka and co not believing him. Everything stays the same with kenta following around until the dynamis episode. Where he explains, ones gingka mentioned ryuga, that l drago cant get a star Fragment. Having so much dark power gives him the power to absorb other and in turn not be Absorbed. Meaning nemesis has no access to l drago power and that the star Fragment ( beeing prophecyed to be used against nemesis ) cant differentiate between l drago and nemesis dark power, avoiding it completly.
We see ryuga later find the Summer constelation, when all the beys glow and absorb the star Fragment with kenta watching. He than claims that now that he finally got one, he can tell it is not the power what transformered l drago so he was right and that the power is less than he expected. An angry kenta battles him and loses without damaging l drago but got damaged himself ( ryuga stays calmer so he acknowleged kenta right there ). He looks at l drago and tells kenta to get his bey. While kenta is away johannes and his men attack ryuga with sleeping Darts before he can use l drago and trap ryuga so he cant teleport. Mentioning an old friend who wants to see him. Kenta gets back and trys to help only for his broken bey to be no match. Ryuga creates a fire circle around l drago, sagitario, kenta and transformers the star Fragment before teleporting kenta away and collapsing afterward.
When ryuga wakes up he is captured by doji who wants him to Suffer the same fate he did. ( trapped so long at the hospital ). He wants ryuga to rot, since l drago power cant be used for nemesis anyway.
Later when gingka and co come and battle for ryuga he tells them he killed him. Getting kenta to transform.
Everything stays the same except nemesis looks different and doji still stands at the side lines.
After gingka looks in the sky we see no ryuga. Than credits and than the after credits.
A downslide showing the empty prison. Than going further down and showing a bruised doji getting away only to meet ryuga. Ryuga mentions a Deja vu and kills doji again.
Version 1 dark power ( after all the power never disapeared it is only controlled ). For old times sake i will defeat you the same way as last time. A black dragon kills doji.
Version 2 sun power ( we dont know where the meteors came from but giving l drago Colour and power it wouldnt surprise me if it where connected to the sun ). Since you liked the dark sun so much why dont i show you l drago real power. Doji sees the dark sun beeing outclassed by the scale of the red sun only for the sun to unravel showing it was a giant fire dragon wrapped up in a ball. Coming towards him. A red dragon kills doji.
Once ryuga walks away we see his reflection except it is a more kingly version of him before hearing l drago roar while everything goes dark. ( ryuga is no incarnation like the Others but in the manga he is an ancient king so this is a reference )
Zero g stays the same except doji is an AI created before doji died and if they made a season 2 they could have gone into dragon clan lore.

First off I love the beyblade stories you've written with the legendary bladers just growing close as brothers. Second of all got any Dynamis headcanons?
Thanks, I appreciate that. Well, I don't have many since it's been a while since I had Dynamis in the brain, but I like to imagine him that at some point his brain goes, "Wait...the prophecy was fulfilled... I don't have to go back to the temple....what now?" and so he decides to give it a try at having a normal life. It takes him a while to get used to it, but he adapts well thanks to his support system. I like to think he enjoys quiet places such as libraries, museums, peaceful areas, and that the diversity of nature blows his mind since all he has ever known is the temple and the stars. Let's say there's a time period where he pretty much asks what nearly every flower is called. He'd like to learn more about the world but it sort of overwhelms him, so he just takes it at his own pace. I also like to think he is pretty much himself in the way he acts as he grows up, but he can't help become a lot more open-minded as he matures regarding a variety of issues. He becomes less self-centered and more empathetic. Specially where his loved ones are concerned. Like, before he realizes, he starts getting anxious about whether Tithi is going to be okay after scrapping his knee or he worries about Yuki not getting enough sleep. He grew up thinking being stoic and calculating was the way to be, but in reality he just didn't have anyone to care about. Also he thinks fashion is sort of fun to explore. Still wears his robes from time to time, but his wardrobe becomes a lot bigger as he grows. I think he'd be into soft colors since he was used to only wear white and wearing black kinda...reminds him of "the incident." Also, this guy never wears a necklace again bc of that. Although, hair clips and earrings are pretty fun to try out!

Hope the car ride is going ok! Random headcanons I found saved in my phone:
Tag team partners tend to accidentally start mirroring each other since they're used to having to be in sync during battles.
There is an insane amount of different group chats with the legendary bladers and their friends. Like twenty plus.
All the world championship teams have a matching charm associated with their team that they all carry (Wild Fang = Fangs, Gan Gan Galaxy = Galaxies, etc).
King lived in Greece for several years growing up and still goes back to visit a ton.
The ride back from the whole Hades City incident involved like ten minutes of silence before someone just mentioning that they have an exam tomorrow and people immediately grabbing out devices to study (those kids are absolutely in online school).
THE TAG TEAM PARTNERS MIRRIORING EACH OTHER IS SO CUTE OH MY GOD.,.,..
the group chats would be so chaotic. and the charms are super cute too !! im imagining some earrings bracelets and keychains :3
king taking a visit often is sweet :]
THR SILENCE ONE IS SO FUNNY HELPPP😭😭😭 got beat up with beyblades and now have to cram for an algebra 2 test😭😭

Rago 101 - The God of Destruction
Rago, known as the Child of the Black Sun and the 10th legendary blader, is regarded as the most powerful blader in the Beyblade verse by most of anyone who isn't a Ryuga fanboy/fangirl, and almost certainly a Brooklyn fanboy/fangirl. I've seen Brooklyn and Rago fans fighting in the comments. This is a series in which power scaling is quite difficult, especially for Burst which if using the same criteria as for Bakuten Shoot or Metal Fight could be anywhere from Wall level to Galaxy level, but can be done. Someone power-scaled and said that the Beyblade Burst verse in particular was Universe level via scaling to Dante and Gwyn, their personal realms/spaces where their Spirit (their bey partner/friend/creation) resides and various moves by the 'master' of their respective beyblades. To put that idea into perspective, it means that if Arthur Peregrine and Origami Tobiichi were to battle, Arthur would curb-stomp Origami into the dirt.
Regardless, there's a reason Rago was chosen by Nemesis itself as the only person worthy of wielding it in battle. It ended up taking the combined power of all the world's bladers, likely over 6,000,000,000 people, to even match Rago and his partner/Spirit/deity Diablo Nemesis. More accurately, since by that point Rago had died and had his spirit absorbed into the God of Destruction, the power of all bladers was up against Nemesis. It's still the same bey though, so whether it was Rago or Nemesis blading with Diablo doesn't really matter. The fact that he didn't even use Armageddon in the final clash with Gingka's Super Cosmic Nova to me suggests that Nemesis wasn't quite at full tilt. No surprise, that deity was rather cocky believing that 'worms' as it called humans could never beat it, even when all together at once.
I have seen claims that Rago has the power of all the world's bladers in his bey, but that isn't the case. Rago himself said that Nemesis has the powers of every blader it has fought and of every blader it's opponents have ever fought as well. But then Pluto blatantly said that it does have exactly that, so perhaps it is a trickle-down effect. (e.g. Power absorption/translation: Rago/Nemesis <- Opponent <- Everyone who Opponent battled <- Every adversary of everyone who battled Opponent <- So on and so forth). To avoid a no-limits fallacy, it is likely needed to apply a simple limit that Nemesis can't gain the powers of someone who is more powerful than it at the time of attempt. It's still one of the most overpowered hax ever.
"When it absorbed your legendary beys, that was not the end. It gained the power of every bey you've ever fought as well, from the first time you battled to the last." - Rago | "Nemesis possesses the power of every bey in the world, you understand? Every bey, and surpasses all in attack, defence and stamina. It is the strongest bey in history." - Pluto
To point out something, there are three Nemesis'. The bey, the god and the star, but they are all one existence too. It seems to be equivalent to the Holy Trinity, with the star Nemesis as the Father, the god Nemesis as the Son and the beyblade Nemesis as the Holy Spirit.
The Black Sun is meant to be the hypothetical star Nemesis. There was a theory in astrophysics that the Sun had a dwarf star twin that would periodically pass by the Oort Cloud or the Kuiper Belt (one of the two) in its incredibly long orbit, and send bodies hurtling into the solar system. The star known as Nemesis was a potential candidate for various mass extinctions that Earth has suffered.
This post is a simple list of a few things that Rago can do. I'd say become more powerful in every category via centrifugal force but to me that's a moot point. Frankly, Beyblade is absurd. It's on the same level as the Touhou Project verse, which is absurd in and of itself. That goes for the Metal Saga, and it may also go for Bakuten Shoot and even Burst. The latter of which would push the boundaries of absurdity.
The Many Things Rago (and Nemesis) Are Capable Of:
Corrupt people to become mind slaves to the will of Nemesis. (Pluto did this to Dynamis via the Black Sun's energy, which Nemesis is basically made of. This one seems to be restricted to whoever has the pendant Dynamis wears, so it's not really effective on anyone else.)
Absorb people and/or their souls into itself.* (Nemesis did this to Hades, then to Rago and Pluto - in Rago's case, Nemesis took on his voice and personality though it briefly used Pluto's voice.)
Cause natural disasters such as severe thunderstorms, wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, firestorms and volcanic eruptions at unnaturally high levels on a global scale. (Rago did this before Ryuga turned up, and Nemesis did it as a side-effect while battling Gingka.)
Cause global electrical black-outs. (Rago did this as a side-effect before Ryuga arrived to challenge him to battle.)
Correctly foresee future events.* (Nemesis predicted its own revival thousands of years before it happened.)
Absorb a person's power and gain their abilities, plus gain the abilities of everyone said person has ever fought with. (Nemesis absorbed power from various sources over thousands of years in preparation for its revival, and when it absorbs the powers of its opponent, it also gains the abilities of everyone that opponent has ever battled.)
Summon the Black Sun from its 26,000,000 year orbit cycle to the Earth. (Nemesis did this shortly after breaking out of Zeus' Barrier.)
Open up gateways to different universes. (Rago seemingly did this against Ryuga.)
Create barriers to protect itself or trap others. (Rago pulled this against the legendary bladers, to prevent them from being able to seal Nemesis.)
Seemingly be made of the universe itself, like some kind of abstract eldritch horror.* (Nemesis is basically a hulking divine mass of fluctuating intergalactic space given shape.)
Destroy spirits and/or souls. (Diablo Nemesis does this to all of the Spirits of the legendary bladers' beys when battling Gingka.)
Replicate the spirits of those whose powers they have taken in. (Rago and Nemesis both do this repeatedly against their opponents, it's their go to battle method.)
Erase all of existence itself on a universal scale at minimum. (Rago stated that once he and Nemesis were done, literally nothing would be left, and that they would create a new existence out of that nothingness, like the birth of a new reality.)
Resurrect itself after being killed. (The Spirit of the bey Diablo Nemesis can return after being destroyed, though a bey usually stops spinning once the Spirit is killed with exceptions, as long as the bey itself can still spin. Basically every bey with a Spirit can do this.)
Be resistant if not immune to power absorption. (Ryuga tried and failed to absorb the power of Diablo Nemesis into L-Drago.)
This isn't even getting into the powers Rago has due to absorbing the abilities of countless people. Basically, just research every single decent blader in the Metal Saga verse and count what they can do. Rago can do all of that too. This includes:
Universe creation [Faust/Damian/Dynamis]
Revealing the past via a separate realm [Dynamis]
Control over gravity [Julian]
Creating an electromagnetic field [Zeo (Byxis)]
Creating auroras [Dynamis]
Opening the gates to Hell [Damian]
Teleporting to different places [Ryuga]
Warping the fabric of reality in a universe** [Kyoya/Damian]
Transporting people between universes [Dynamis]
Creating an empty space of non-existence [Chris]
Astral projection at sizes dwarfing a galaxy [Faust]
Complete control over wind [Kyoya]
Full control over time and space, including creating seemingly hyper-massive black holes within which space-time becomes broken and ceases to exist*** [Faust]
*The asterisk means only Nemesis can do these. Rago can't.
**Kyoya did this when Hades (basically Hell) was turned into the Wild. Damian then reversed it by turning the Wild back into Hades.
***Faust's power is based on the Theory of Relativity, most likely General Relativity but maybe also Special Relativity. It's almost certain that the inside of Tempo's black holes are based on the Singularity, a potentially 0-D point of possibly infinite density where the laws of reality break down. The fact that Pegasus and Striker were still spinning but had stopped in place, and that Gingka and Masamune were frozen solid, alongside the scientific basis of Tempo suggests that time itself doesn't exist inside Tempo's black holes, and space with it. It is just a void of nothingness. Similar to non-existence then, but not quite that. Probably Rago's pipe dream.

oh yeah, thing i've been slightly curious about since i never finished metal fusion or even mfb as a whole- what IS ryuga's whole deal anyway? like what was that guy's problem is he just Like That or is there somethin else goin on with him
In short: Ryuga's actions weren't his own. L-Drago (who is an amalgamation of the souls of the most evil humans in history) was using him as a vessel, and he spends the following 2 seasons trying to get revenge on Doji
Long version: The first beys ever created were from an island kingdom in the South Pacific. The king, Hades, made a bey out of a meteorite that had passed through the Black Sun. (the physical manifestation of cosmic evil). The king was then possessed by the bey (Proto Nemesis) and attempted to destroy the world (this is based on the Nemesis Hypothesis, a real life attempted explanation for several of Earth's mass extinctions). Zeus, the ruler of a neighboring kingdom, with the help of 4 other bladers, went on to fight Hades. They battles long and hard, and just when it seemed Hades would win, the Earth itself swallowed him and sealed Nemesis away. With his final breath, Hades laid a curse to make sure he would reawaken eventually
Doji was part of a cult trying to bring back Nemesis, believing that humanity's continued existence was an act of defiance against fate. Doji grew tired of waiting, so he sought out Ryuga (who in the manga was a dormant emperor of a long-gone dragon clan) to control Lightning L-Drago. Lightning L-Drago was created as one of the earliest beys, and was generally used by evil tyrants. L-Drago absorbed part of each user's soul, growing into the embodiment of humanity's greatest evils. During Fusion, Ryuga was controlled by L-Drago. L-Drago's influence grew stronger the more powerful he became, and he eventually turned on Doji. When Ryuga tried to resist, L-Drago entered his body and started transforming him into a dragon-human hybrid. He was freed from its control during Fusion's finale
During season 2, Tsubasa has been infected with a small fragment of L-Drago (which manifests as an evil version of himself in his mind). Once the main characters realize what is going on, they send Hyoma to find Ryuga and ask for his help. Ryuga had at this point overcome L-Drago's evil by sheer willpower. Ryuga goes to Tsubasa (who is on a rampage on an Italian guy's backyard) and basically tells him "don't fight it. The dark power brings out the worst parts of you, but rejecting it makes it stronger." He then picks up Tsubasa's unconscious body and delivers him to Gingka. Gingka, confused, challenged him to a battle. There, Ryuga gives him some advice about being one with your bey and leaves. Tsubasa accepts his darkness as a part of him, thus overcoming it
Ryuga takes up a life of walking around the wilderness indefinitely. Then some bladers try to capture him and he beats their asses. He learns that they had been sent by Dr. Ziggurat, Doji's former employer (and part of the Nemesis cult). Ryuga is pissed at Ziggurat because he blames them for L-Drago. He fights on Gingka's team in the world championship finals (as half of Gingka's team was hospitalized at the time). Turns out that Ziggurat was using the world championships to conduct research on beys so he could create Twisted Tempo to power the Spiral Core (think of a nuclear reactor but powered by a black hole. Just turning it on created a desert in New York). Ryuga, pissed, tried to destroy the Spiral Core, but simply causes a meltdown (which threatens to destroy the planet). He then, alongside Gingka, yeet it into space so it can detonate away from everybody
This explosion fulfills the prophecy of Nemesis' return (which involved "a bright light shined in the heavens," which a nuke counts as). A star fragment comes down to Earth, but it splits into 10 parts. 1 part goes to Nemesis, and the other go to 9 Legendary Bladers. These bladers are the descendants of the original bladers who fought Nemesis (representing Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), as well as 4 bladers to represent Earth's 4 seasons (spring, summer, autumn, and winter). The Four Seasons Bladers have the power to create Zeus's Barrier, which is the only known power capable of defeating Nemesis. Ryuga is the Blader of Summer
Ryuga decided he's going to 1v1 Nemesis because fuck teamwork. Kenta decides to follow him around until he convinces Ryuga to help. What follows is Kenta unknowingly undergoing the same training as Ryuga (which mainly consists of walking through deserts, mountains, jungles, etc.). Ryuga says that if Kenta can make himself be taken seriously by Ryuga, he'll join Gingka. Ryuga and Kenta then have their own side adventures, including a battle with Tsubasa at the Tower of Babel. Ryuga encounters the rest of the main cast at the Beyster Island Tournament, where he says he wants to absorb the power of all the Legendary Bladers because fuck 'em, however he's stopped by Kenta (who he's grown to respect). Kenta actually manages to crack L-Drago's facebolt during a battle, which is when Ryuga, even if he doesn't admit it at the time, started taking Kenta seriously
Ryuga and Kenta show up when Nemesis is revived. However, Doji's back and being a dick. Ryuga, rather than help form Zeus's Barrier, breaks formation and tries to 1v1 Nemesis to prove a point to Doji (that Ryuga is truly the strongest blader to ever live). The temple they're fighting in collapses. Everyone escapes, but Kenta is separated from Ryuga
Nemesis goes to the Lost Kingdom of King Hades, which it raises from the bottom of the ocean. Everyone heads there to battle Nemesis before he calls the Black Sun to Earth. Ryuga is the first to arrive, and 1v1's Nemesis. He kills Doji in the process (he blasts him off a cliff. Doji's body dies, but Merci the French computer rescues him and uploads Doji's mind to a computer. Don't worry, Doji dies for real in season 4). Ryuga puts up a decent fight, but Nemesis beats him and puts him on the brink of death. When Kenta and everyone else arrives, it's too late. Zeus's Barrier can no longer be made since one of the 4 bladers required is missing. Still, they fight Nemesis, and unlike the first time, don't get their asses handed to them almost immediately (though they are on the losing end). Ryuga uses the last of his power to give Kenta the piece of the star fragment in L-Drago. Ryuga says that Kenta managed to be taken seriously. Then Ryuga dies. Kenta, now with Ryuga's power, manages to turn the tides of the battle, and eventually win

For example, a Paladin will be able to craft heavy armor which would be different somehow from what a Hunter will be able to craft; a ranged weapon. - Forge Gems: Another thing that has to be mentioned, is that gems can be put directly into the gear to enhance it permanently. For creating gems you need runes and other magical parts, if you want to make yours better, the same materials are necessary Sustaining equipment is significant in the development of the game mostly when playing against challenging opponents. The bosses of Bosfightles that are subjected to raids most often than not have a higher than normal chance of dropping special items and materials. - Tactics: Improve on class favorable chemical reaction. For example, Paladin – a class that takes damage for everyone, Magician – a terrific distant hitter. Coordinating attacks is crucial! With all due respect I would love to see Tsubasa getting fucked in more ways than one sorry not sorry
The day the writers retcon Yuu as just a bey geniuses instead of a pure natural genius like he was introduced in Metal fusion was the day Yuu was robbed of everything that he was 😩where was the boy that could calculate like a computer to slip through Kyouya’s tornado 😩😩😩 like I’m so mad, I could see Yuu being caught by surprise but him and Tsubasa just went for normal attacks like a newbie in the match against Wales and Sophie, then him being completely underutilized in every match he’s in and serve as just a cheerleader is just criminal. He literally did nothing during the Hades city except for helping Gingka getting the city. And so, so many other things
Yuu could’ve been one of the most terrifying bladers to ever exist just for his ability to use shockwave/vibration, because it’s completely invisible, but funny colors as cue make brain goes brrrr for the kid I suppose
Then we have Tsubasa who while having one of the best arc, was also robbed in Metal Fury. Everything he does is just a plot device to promote the legendary blader, his actions and missions meaningless. Heck he even absent during the bey-star island match and nobody has anything to say about it I’m—
Yeah Metal Fury is my least favorite out of 4 imma not gonna touch it
Tsubasa had to be nerfed by the dark power because otherwise Tsubasa and Yu would be too overpowered as a team. If they cooperated smoothly for five seconds Libra would have the opponents caught in an inferno blast while Eagle could move through it freely to attack without mercy.

Most chaotic MFB Beyblade AU to pop up into my head. Part 1: Metal Fusion
Okay this one has been stuck in my head for close to a week to the point where I wrote snippets of it in my Google docs. Basically, all the characters are the same, the plot is relatively all the same, but one or two things makes this all a chaotic mess.
All the legendary bladers are mentally linked together about 2 years prior to Metal Fusion. As in, they can telepathically communicate with each other and sense each other's links.
They all get headaches one day and eventually find themselves mentally linked to each other. At first it's a chaotic mess of "what the actual heck is going on here?!" to slowly learning about each other and their families to "Oh heck, these are my friends and we support each other, however far away we are." They open up to each other, ranging between Dynamis and his family curse, to Chris' troubles and loneliness, and it becomes a friendship/brotherly therapy group. Even Ryuga opens up with them. He's not too much different from main series, but he cares about them and will protect him.
The other thing? Doji has screwed over a few legendary bladers by harming their families. This man is probably eviler in the AU than canon. He's arranged several accidents, including a rockfall that injured Dynamis' father on Mist Mountain, Ryuga's best friend getting injured in a hit and run, and other things.
This changes the situation quite a bit. Instead of Ryuga joining out his own will to spy on this man, end up possessed after grabbing L-Drago, and ending up in a coma. Dynamis, having a bit of psychic abilities due to his training on Mist mountain, is able to sense this, and besides avenging his father's supposed death and Dynamis' father's injuries, Gingka makes it his personal mission to take down Doji and save their mentally connected to them brother.
Enter the Canon.
Gingka meets Kenta and Madoka and everyone as Canon, but during the 1 vs 100 beybattle against the face hunters, Kyoya realizes during the commentary and has that "Oh shit, this is my bro!" Moment and later on meets up with Gingka face to face. The two get along,
And then Doji comes along to cause chaos.
Kyoya: “Hypothetically speaking, if this Doji person appeared out of nowhere in your hideout after a battle, should I be concerned?
Gingka: "...This isn't hypothetical is it?”
Kyoya: “Nope.”
Chris: “Wow, this guy wants blood.”
Kyoya: “....Want me to spy on him for you?”
King: “Oh? We're trolling?”
And from there, the ball gets rolling. Canon events happen while Kyoya gets free training during his spying (hey he's not gonna pass up a chance to train with his friendly rival), he relays what he sees during all this via group telepathy, up until his second battle with Gingka. Hikaru plays a bigger role from this too. Canon continues after that, including Gingka losing to Ryuga and the trip to Koma Village. At some point between all that, the group does learn about Kyoya and Gingka's backstory with both Doji and Ryuga. To which they are surprised, a bit unconvinced, to eventually believing them.
And then the stuff leading up to battle bladers happens. Canon battles happen, the tournament is announced, and everything goes according to the series. Except one more minor detail.
Enter Ryutaro Fukami. I headcanon this precious boi being Dynamis' cousin, with his family being related to a certain... Nemesis blader (more on that in a separate post someday). Well Gingka and Kyoya and the rest of the group make it to the Battle Royale tournament, and they stumble upon Ryutaro during a fortune-telling. He's aware of this link during a visit to his cousin, but is very sceptical about until the two visit his booth
Gingka: Hello! I'm Gingka and this is Kyoya. Your cousin has mentioned you.
Ryutaro: PiscesBlader.EXE has stopped working.
The group explains their backstory, and one thing leads to another. Ryutaro is unintentionally pulled into this situation (and doesn't know what to think of it), and even volunteers to spy on Doji. He gets his older brother (one of few OCs in this case, art is on the site) Ranmaru involved with this, and things slowly start to change from there.
No big changes, Canon continues up to the end of the season, right after to where Ryuga is defeated. Pegasus is gone, but as frustrated and upsetting as that is, Gingka's got his friends and his bros. And Ryuga's got his brothers help him heal. And of course Ryutaro is invited to join in the mental conversation due to his own psychic abilities.
Legendary Bladers: (talking about many things and situations)
Ryutaro: (instantly regrets it and starts stocking up on headache medicine)
Part 2 of this will cover Metal Master and probably Metal Fury.

Mayblade Day 5: Rivals
I didn’t have time to do a drawing for this one (stupid sickness) but I still wanted to shine the spotlight on my favourite rival dynamic in any anime series, Gingka and Kyoya.
Tumblr media
I have a feeling most of the submissions for this prompt are gonna be these two so I’m probably being unoriginal with this but there’s a reason a lot of people like this dynamic. It’s well defined, it’s one of the most consistent things across the entirety of the show, be a major part of every season of the show. A lot of other rival dynamics (Yugioh in particular) have their rivals fizzle out or hardly acknowledge each other after a while. It’s not delved into much. Gingka and Kyoya don’t have this issue. Their rivalry begins in the very first episode, with Kyoya being the first character to battle on Gingka’s level.
Tumblr media
This dynamic remains consistent though not unchanged over the course of the series. After their second battle, their dynamic changes from one of enemies to one of friendly rivals. They want to best each other in their battles but will fight on each other’s side for the greater good if needed. FOR EXAMPLE
Kyoya accompanying Gingka to the Dark Nebula
Tumblr media
Him going with the others to look for Gingka when he disappeared to Koma Village
Tumblr media
Kyoya coming to Gingka’s aid in the fight against Hades Inc
Tumblr media
Accompanying him to find the Legendary Bladers
Tumblr media
Then after seemingly abandoning them, Kyoya returning to the group to help in the battles in the Mayan temple
Tumblr media
And finally in the final battle, Kyoya is the first one to offer his power to Gingka, saying Gingka made him the person he is today and that he has always been the centre of the group.
Tumblr media
Their dynamic is so important to the show that their next rematch of many is the final note the series ends on.
Tumblr media
This is, in my opinion, the best way to write rival characters. Kyoya is a little overly obsessed with Gingka, especially as the series goes on, but their dynamic is consistently good. It never feels stale to me. Their battles evolve overtime, getting more and more intense with higher stakes and closer calls. And they’re able to have these continuous battles without it feeling repetitive for one simple reason: Kyoya and Gingka are friends. They start as enemies and their dynamic primarily focuses on their rivalry as bladers and how much they want to defeat each other. However, after their first battle, this desire always seemed more like friendly competition rather than any sort of contempt and anger, as, like I cited in the previous examples, Kyoya and Gingka actually care about each other and show that care multiple times throughout the series.
A really notable example to me is this scene right before Kyoya’s big battle with Ryuga:
Tumblr media
At this point in the story, the audience and the characters know that Gingka is the only one who can defeat Ryuga and they have seen what happens to those who lose to him. But Gingka doesn’t try to talk Kyoya out of battling Ryuga (likely knowing Kyoya won’t back down anyway) Instead he offers Kyoya his support and seems to whole-heartedly believe that Kyoya can and will win. Kyoya acknowledges Gingka’s with a supportive fist bump and smile before going to face Ryuga. It’s a simple but really sweet moment.
Kyoya rarely allows others to touch him, even more rarely being the one to instigate it. The only other times are him accepting a hug from Benkei.
Tumblr media
And his fist bumps with Nile.
Tumblr media
Kyoya isn’t the type to outright admit he cares for people, that’s just characteristic of his rival archetype, but these rare moments of physical contact, along with the moments I mentioned of Kyoya battling on Gingka’s side, are his way of showing that he cares. It’s also a lot more than I’ve seen with any other rival characters. (Yugioh, I love you, but all your rivalries are either forgotten or are solely rivals without any friendship. Yuma and Shark are the closest to this friendship/rivalry idea but even they felt more like warriors on opposite sides of a battlefield than supportive friends at times.)
This analysis was kinda all over the place so I’m gonna end it off with Kyoya’s speech to Gingka at the end of Fury because it’s honestly really sweet and emotional
Tumblr media
“You know, when I first ran into you, I learned all about the humiliation of defeat. Since then, I’ve been honing my skills with the thought of defeating you as my one and only goal. I don’t really want to admit it but you are the reason I am who I am today.”

throwing u masaking too for the ask game
OMG MASAKING THE ONE AND ONLY. You already know my answer but
Ship It
What made you ship it?
Their chemistry in Fury is SO GOOD. Complementary colors, the way they're so happy being rivals/"friends" in the show, what is not to love about them. I will say, seeing so much Masaking art from you and the fandom has convinced me of this ship so much that it's almost next to impossible for me to see Masamune or King with other people sjdjaskdadsfdsfsd
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
My favourite thing about the ship can be summarized in Orion's Whereabouts when King goes to Masamune to deliver his speech about being a legendary blader. It is one of the best scenes in Fury hands down and it just shows how much respect King has for Masamune, even if he isn't a "legendary blader".
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I don't believe so? I haven't really seen any unpopular opinions for Masaking? I've got no idea.

I'll start with the leadup on this one, I think.
So we know that after they defeat Nemesis, Kyoya goes around and defeats all the other legendary bladers before he lets himself battle Gingka again. So he and Bao meet again when he inevitably goes to challenge Aguma again, and Bao just has to watch their match to support his brother in arms (or brother WITH arms y'know what I'm sayin'??? Big). While Aguma finds Kyoya's arrogance and cockiness annoying, Bao finds his attitude and wit quite charming. He wants to route for his homie, but damn... that Kyoya dude's got something about him... Those eyes? That snarky grin?? The fucking crop top??? Got Bao feeling some kinda way. So when Kyoya wins, though he feels for Aguma, he can't help but feel good for Kyoya.
Kyoya's leaving the Beylin Fist hangout when Bao catches up to him and congratulates him on the win. He's suspicious at first; after all, this is one of the guys that wanted to take over the world. But Bao only says that he greatly admired Kyoya's ferocity in battle and would like to challenge him one day. Kyoya tells him that he'd fight him when Bao gets stronger than he was in their first battle in China, to which Bao agrees.
Cut to later, after Bao has been training hard (why are you, as a man, training? To get another man's attention? Yes) and goes to all the way to Japan to challenge Kyoya (again, a lot of effort just for a "rival"). Kyoya's honestly pretty surprised that Bao came all this way, but he accepts his challenge enthusiastically. The battle is definitely harder than Kyoya expected, and even though he ends up winning, he's sincerely impressed by Bao's quick improvement.
"You'll have to stay on my radar, so I know when you're ready to challenge me again ;)" (not flirting, just rival talk)
"Oh, I think I will. You'd better stay ready for me ;))" (still not flirting, just more rival talk)
-Kyoya's always weird with romantic relationships. Like, he's so naturally flirty with all of his rivals, so you'd think their relationship would develop naturally, but then someone utters the word "boyfriend" and all the sudden he's Mist-Mountaining your ass. Bao I think would be more openly flirty, almost to a Chao Xin degree. So when Bao starts openly flirting with Kyoya, Kyoya withdraws a bit to figure out his feelings. It didn't feel bad when Bao flirted with him, but it made him feel weak... vulnerable... all the things Kyoya can't stand.
-Once Kyoya realises he can't get Bao off the brain, he starts slowly reaching out again. A little bit of flirting every once in a while couldn't hurt, could it? Bao quickly learns that too much too soon tends to freak Kyoya out, so he tones it down and lets it build back up as Kyoya gets used to it. Slowly, Kyoya starts letting himself just enjoy hanging out with Bao alone. He even starts flirting back again (only this time he actually knows he's flirting, took him long enough).
-When they finally decide to be in an actual relationship, it doesn't take as long as expected for them to go public with it, since they're both very proud people (and also terrified of keeping secrets- you never know what your enemies will use against you). Aguma is particularly confused, but he stays quiet about it because damn Bao's just so happy! And he's been working especially hard with his blading ever since Kyoya came around, so he can't really complain.
-Bao helps Kyoya open himself up to the idea of just having fun and letting himself be happy more often, whereas Kyoya inspires Bao to improve and to give proper respect each and every one of his opponents, as well as to stop caring so much about how other people live their lives. Somehow, ironically, being together makes the both of them less asshole-ish- though they're both still snobby as fuck.
-Madoka can't stand the two of them together. Like, great, you've admitted to caring deeply about someone for once, good for you. But god, they're just so rude??? Every time they walk into the B-Pit they're both like "Damn bitch, you live like this?" Kyoya was a dickhead before, but now with Bao egging him on, Madoka can't be held responsible for what she'd do to these fuckers if not for the laws of the land.
-The two are always either blading together or relaxing somewhere private. Rather than being a tag team, they prefer to both enter tournaments separately, so they can work hard to get to battle each other again.
-When they're relaxing together, Kyoya absent-mindedly runs his fingers through Bao's hair. Bao would do the same for him, but... that crop of knots on Kyoya's head is hardly a friendly environment. He keeps trying to get Kyoya to take better care of his hair, but Kyoya insists that it's a dumb waste of time to worry about stuff like that- at least until Bao offers to wash his hair for him. Then he can worry about it a little.
-I think they'd get on each other's nerves pretty often, but are also able to make up and move on quickly as well. Bao is very arrogant and a bit full of himself and the whole Beylin Fist ideology, and Kyoya... is Kyoya. He's rude and cocky and stubborn. They can only roll their eyes and ignore each other's flaws for so long before it actually starts to bother them, and when it does it tends to be a quick explosion, a bit of alone time to recuperate, and then some small but sincere apologies.
Writing Kyoya getting into a relationship is always such a process😭 Why do I like doing it so much???
