Maedhros/Fingon, Gimli/Legolas, Kili/Tauriel, Turgon/Finrod - there are more, but these are probably my top 4!

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

I’m gonna do two-

the first one is Elladan/Firiel of Gondor, which this fic convinced me of, and it���s so niche and applicable to basically just that situation that I don’t think it really counts? BUT the fic is Very Good so you should read it!!! (warning: nsfw) I love the concept so much I put it in one of my own fics!!

the other one is Mablung/Nienor which I had literally never considered ever until @em-cu wrote this fic and then I was like “DUH OF COURSE!” and now I definitely ship it :)

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice)

uhhhh...hm. In the Silm fandom there aren’t a lot of ships I can’t be convinced of, tbh, and even ones I don’t like very much I can be like “yeah okay in that situation I guess”

BUT, and this is kind of a copout, Figrid is very much not a ship I have ever liked and I never will like it. I mean, look at my url - this is for obvious aro headcanon reasons. But Figrid in particular annoys me, because it feels like the most heterosexual pair the spares ship in the world, it has absolutely nothing to back it up from canon, and frankly I expect better from fandom. If you must pair Fili with someone, it makes way more sense to put him with like, Ori or a dwarf OFC, so I’m baffled as to why this bland m/f ship became the most popular Fili ship. That being said, I am a slut for interspecies ships (mostly elf/mortal, which is why I’m 👀 for Kiliel; dwarf/human doesn’t have quite the same appeal to me) and if you have fun with Figrid I wish you all the best. I’m just really Not Into It. 

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t (again: be nice)

Again, there’s not a lot, especially now that I’m mostly in the Silm fandom?? I suppose... Finrod/Amarie, which is canon, but I just can’t see Finrod with a woman tbh, even though I usually like to work with canon ships!

(Also, Maedhros/Maglor. Like...I can be convinced into this ship being a thing, at some point, in some circumstances? And I’ve read some good fic with this ship. But it squicks me out majorly. I’m not...super into sibling incest ships...though they can be fun to explore in some cases, like Tyelcurvo and FeaNolo I can enjoy, but Not This One, even in a “this is fucked up but interesting” way. I think it’s the dynamic of Mae having like...power over Maglor, if that makes sense? A lot of the circumstances I’ve seen this ship in are like, Mae abusing Maglor, or Maglor trying to replace Fingon, stuff like that, which is very much a No for me. So like, yeah, this fits pretty well - I wish I could like stories with this ship, enjoy the fucked-up-ness of it at least, but nope!)

G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it

Ummmm - Kiliel?? actually?? It was probably Kiliel. My main fandom before that was warrior cats and I didn’t really have a particular OTP there, I did a lot of OC stuff, and Kiliel was the first pairing that really grabbed me and dragged me into hell! That’s surprisingly recent, wow!
