As much as Hot Guy dislikes using his vex powers,
this is definitely the right time to use them, to challenge the hypnosis with a much stronger power

Startober Day 5: Monarch
Jimmy was different. No matter how much people assured him otherwise, he knew deep down that it was true. He was reminded of it every time he had to stoop down to fit through a doorway, or when his fish-like tail got in someone’s way, or whenever the scars on his back ached, even though he had no idea where they came from. And that was another thing: everyone else in the Nether had a past – a history, a place to belong, a reason for being there. Jimmy didn’t have any of those either, but he thought that perhaps he could do something about that. And that is why he became the (self proclaimed) sheriff of this town. He thought that surely people would welcome him and respect him then! But the mocking laughter of children echoing behind him seemed to suggest otherwise.
Jimmy slammed the doors of the library behind him, breathing a sigh of relief as the sound of laughter vanished. The library was one of the few buildings in town where he could comfortably stand up without feeling like the ceiling was weighing down on him. Sure, the bookshelves made the space a bit cramped, but it was one of the few places where Jimmy could sit and think without worrying about anyone else’s opinion.
“Hey there, big fella,” a voice said from nearby. Jimmy jumped in surprise at the voice, since it was a voice he recognized, though not one he would expect to hear in this place.
“You startled me,” he said, looking for where the voice came from. It was the old, retired sheriff of the town, though up until now, Jimmy doubted that it was possible for him to leave the saloon. All he did these days was drink and sleep, and sometimes Jimmy wondered how factual his stories about the glory days when he was sheriff actually were. “I didn’t really expect you…”
“What, you think an old guy like me doesn’t know anything about reading?”
“That’s not what I-“
“Well, you would’ve been correct.” The Old Sheriff picked up a book at random and started flipping through it, but the cover of the book caught Jimmy’s eye: it was titled The Mystery of the Avians, with an illustration of a tall, winged, fishlike figure with a crown.
“Let me see that,” Jimmy said, reaching for the book with determination.
“What, do you own it or somethin’?”
“What? No, this is a library. Nobody owns anything. Do you even know how to read that thing?”
“Eh, not really.” The Old Sheriff tossed Jimmy the book, which he just barely caught. The pages were filled with imformation about Avians, but most of the “facts” presented by the book seemed strangely dubious to Jimmy. He began to flip through the book hastily, looking for more concrete information, but he paused when he reached two pages that were in full color. They were images of the Avians, one male, one female.
Whenever people asked what race Jimmy was, he would usually tell them he was a glare. But it wasn’t like he had any glare abilities — believe him, he’d tried. He often got mistaken for an ender because of his height, but he didn’t have any of those abilities, either. He never seemed to be able to do much of anything. He just assumed that he was some sort of glare hybrid because of his feathers.
But when he looked at these pictures… well, he couldn’t deny the resemblance. They had the same tail that he did, and their hands and feet were also webbed. Their colorful skin was also similar — covered in things that weren’t exactly scales, but didn’t look like normal feathers either. But there was one big, glaring difference — they had wings, and Jimmy did not.
He rubbed his back. His scars were beginning to ache again — the dull ache of something lost that he couldn’t even remember losing. He closed the book remorsefully and put it back on its shelf.
(A galaxy away, an Avian sat on the precipice of her palace and wept, her warm tears streaming down into the sea, her heart aching to see her lost brother again.)
(A galaxy away, a glare darted through alleyways, one who had wings but did not want them.)
(A galaxy away, a group of figures watched from the shadows, feasting eagerly upon the pain of the estranged siblings.)
(How I wanted to help them then! How I wanted to stretch my hand across the cosmos and cradle them and tell them that it was going to be okay!)
(But of course, I could not. All I can do is silently hope that one day they will see each other again. Alas, such is the lot of the ones who watch.)

i feel like we as a society moved on too quickly from the fact that the old sheriff said his citizens used to flee into their houses at the sight of him??? like that man was 100% corrupt. jimmys not dumb. he must have realized something.
but… fear is a kind of respect. so if he really wants to be respected, maybe…
hm. maybe that’s something to try.

Concept that popped into my head:
Jimmy’s lasso in Empires 2 works like Wonder Woman’s, where it forces someone to tell the truth.
No one realizes this for a while, not even Jimmy. Though it’s hilarious when they do realize.
The Old Sheriff knows how it works though, so he’s out here trying to encourage chaos with this.

Hmmmm how about rancher angst? Maybe some side effects and stuff for after Double Life.
Aside from Amnesia Jimmy is confused as to where he has these burn marks that have become scars. He knew for the first week or so until his memory just faded. He’s tried to bring it up to the old sheriff during the journey they go on as to what they could be from. There’s a huge chunk of his memory from around the holidays that’s just gone. He still doesn’t know how the new buildings and train came to be.
He doesn’t know why the scars don’t hurt or why he feels like he’s being choked to death some days and as if someone’s gently rubbing a injury that’ll never heal and not cause pain. He doesn’t understand it. Nothing makes sense to him.
His scars are very much burn scars and maybe the big one on his back is from a explosion. But he feels like not all these scars are supposed to be Jimmys and belong to someone else. Belong to him
Who is him? And why is he sad thinking about this him? Jimmy once again asks the old sheriff this and is met with “Sometimes we meet someone we love or grow close to. And sometimes they’re taken from us. Memory fades the more you want to forget the pain of the lost. Believe me, I know how it feels. I’ve been through the same thing kid.” And the conversation just stops there.
Eventually Jimmy just lives with it and the days where he’s unable to speak anything at all and only from writing become a semi normal. He’s grown fond of his scars and who they must truly belong to.
——————————————
Tango goes back into throwing himself into his work when Jimmys gone.
He ignores how where scars are supposed to be there’s nothing and how those places a scar should be hurt some days. He’s gotten used to the bruise that will never leave or hurt him. He wonders if Jimmy feels the pain and feels bad for touching the bruise around his neck.
Tango can’t help but look fondly at the wardens remembering the one that his rancher and him grew fond of in its short life(Jimmys heartbeat rings through his ears some days mixed with his sobs of grief. Ranchers Revenge wasn’t even a adult warden, they truly didn’t plan to use it against the others. It was a child. Their child, their candle, their hatchling, their pyre, their flock.) and if anyone hears his sobs for a pyre long gone? They say nothing. All he needs is his smog, his friends.
—————(BONUS)—————
The start of Limited Life Tango wanted to sob.
His rancher, his partner, his smog turned pyre was alive and as beautiful as the day he lost him.
But he knows the avian will never remember what they had.
Some hope sparks when he hears Jimmy apologize and say “Sorry Rancher!” After punching him. He ignores how it sounded like it was said out of habit.
He’s happy. His ranchers subconscious still remembers them and what they had. Even if it will never happen again.

My headcanons fallowing jimmy’s last episode
The entire time jimmy has been 15 and hit puberty very late just at the end that is why he jumped at the chance to have a mentor
also explains his rivalry with Joel in Greek myths gods are rather immature something about having enough power to do what ever you want with no consequences makes gods act like hormonal teens
I think this jimmy is evo Jimmy
Jimmy was a 14 year old freshman and grian was 19 a senior that was held back a year
It has been a year since evo ended so grian is 20 and Jimmy is 15 which makes his later bullying of Jimmy hilarious because he’s a young adult picking on a teenager
He is the old sheriffs son I know the time is off because the old sheriffs said he was down there for thirty years but the only reason he knew that that was because he added 10 years for each chicken that died but chickens live 5-10 years so what if all the three chickens only lived 5 years each that would put him in there for 15 years
Just after his youngest son was born
I think the sheriff might have suspected it due to his repeated statements that Jimmy is tiny and has wings like a fairy because jimmy’s mom is a fae
The sheriff and jimmy’s mom met in the town because that area was always a hotspot for fae activity
The reason the sheriff didn’t leave his wife even though he didn’t want to be married is because she was a fae and was scared he would be cursed if he angered her and that is also why he started drinking

I had an idea that someone has probably had before but i wanna voice it too! Empires smp season 2 spin off story.
Two Sheriff's and a Cat.
The tale of 2 Sheriff's travelling the lands of North with their Cat deputy, running into old friends and peculiar new strangers. But those dang blue flowers just can't seem to leave them be.
So it's basically just post season 2 and Jimmy and the old sheriff (Roswell) are on the move from tumble town when Jimmy realises he left the animals and is scared they will get infected by the fae too. So he rushes back to get the horses our, free the cows, gather Norman and decommission the creeper farm. Roswell helps by keeping the horses calm and freeing the livestock, while Jimmy does the rest and they hightail it out of there on the horses, Arrow and Bullseye.
It would focus on exploring more of both Roswells and Jimmys pasts, giving them more trauma along the way, and developing that honourary father-son relationship as they travel and rebuild.
Old friends of empiers season 2 can pop in to help, and new characters can wonder into the scene from either portal or land, established or original. And wether the Fae come back to bite them or they live in peace for the while series is up to how its written, but either end can work. Heck, maybe even another cat joins them on their travels and we can spin off of that with something, like, Tiny adventures with Norman and Flick.
This is either going on my shelf to gather dust, or I will write/draw, like, one extra part to this and then let it get dusty lmao.

"Old Sheriff?" The old man hummed to let the young man know he was listening while he looked through the resources they had left from their journey. The food was dwindling, not to mention the alcohol the stray sheriff swallowed like water. They have been traveling for a good 2 months now, wandering from village to village, visiting different biomes, still looking for the perfect place to settle down. "What's your real name?" The old sheriff frowned, taking his eyes off the inside of the backpack. Jimmy blinked slightly nervous, "I mean, I know it's the Old Sheriff, but that's more of a nickname than a real name, right? Not that anything, I'm just curious, you don't have to answer of course, it's none of my business after all-" A heavy sigh from the other side successively silenced the blonde. Over the last few months, his companion had begun to…change, to put it mildly. They were small changes, probably not noticed by Jimmy himself, but the Old Sheriff already knew him well enough to pick up the necessary signals. He guessed that one of these strange conversations would eventually take place. But he hadn't expected it to be so early. "Why did you even get the idea, somehow you didn't mind calling me just Old Sheriff before?" Jimmy bit his lip slightly, looking anywhere but the older man's eyes. "It just….seems wrong" the blonde stated as he played with a piece of shirt "Plus you know mine and that just makes me-" "Uncomfortable?" "yeah" The old Sheriff smiled resignedly as he approached the younger one and tapped him on the shoulder. "We're running low on resources, we need to go to a village," he stated seeing the other's tight smile, "And that's Martyn. Just don't use it too much or you'll get us in some trouble." Jimmy automatically lit up, nodding eagerly, and followed the old sheriff. "Martyn" the blond repeated as if reverently smiling slightly "thanks" The old Sheriff just waved his hand in response. He chose to ignore the cold shiver running through his body as Jimmy spoke his name.
